The Summer months are upon us and Big Blue Disk #45 is here to provide
you with many fun and useful programs. This month's issue includes a special
treat! Thanks to the folks at Electronic Arts, we are able to provide you
with "A Taste Of" their latest game, ^1LHX Attack Chopper^0. The temperature is
rising, but now you have an excellent excuse to stay in and stay cool with
 Big Blue Disk!

This month's feature, ^1DOS S.O.S.^0, provides a solution to the age old
problem of, "Where's that darn DOS manual when you need it!" Because most DOS
commands were written long before the "Enlightenment" (you know, that period
in time when somebody recognized the fact there were going to be people other
than computer gurus and keyboard wizards using a PC), availability of your DOS
manual was essential. With DOS S.O.S., you have the most needed command
 information right at your fingertips.

One of the most difficult to use DOS utilities is the FORMAT command.
Unfortunately, it is also one of the most needed. ^1Simple Format^0, one of this
issue's utilities, provides an easy-to-use menu interface that allows you to
make all the necessary selections to format floppy disks. You can even
include a volume label and create bootable disks!

Have you ever been so busy working on your computer that you forgot the
time and completely missed an important engagement? ^1Chime^0 helps you keep
track of your appointments. Chime's memory-resident alarm can be set for One
Time Only, Daily, or Weekly events and even include a message that is
displayed when the alarm goes off.

Merit Software, a producer of educational software for Apple computers,
recently allowed Big Blue Disk to convert some of their programs to the PC.
The first conversion, ^1How To Weigh An Elephant^0, teaches children aged 4-7
all about sizes and measuring differences. Over the coming months, you will
see even more of this great software.

^1LHX Attack Chopper^0, from Electronic Arts, provides you with an
opportunity to fly a Light Helicopter Experimental (LHX) on an exciting desert
attack mission. As you might imagine, flying such state of the art equipment
requires a strong will, nerves of steel, and many hours of training. We can't
do much for you on the first two, but we have worked diligently to provide you
with the best instruction manual possible. I strongly recommend that you take
a few minutes before you attempt your first flight to read the provided
documentation. Your survival depends on it!

^C^1Have a great month and keep sending those cards and letters!
