^C^1PERSONAL ECONOMETRIC FORECASTER
^Cby

^C(based on a program by James Owens)

It always pays to plan ahead -- especially where your financial future is
concerned. Unfortunately, with as many variables most of us have to deal with
-- salary increases, changes in home equity, increases in living expenses, for
example -- making projections isn't easy, especially over the course of several
years.

That's where the ^1Personal Econometric Forcaster (PEF)^0 comes in: ^1PEF^0 lets you
juggle figures to see trends, weigh options, and find opportunities. ^1PEF^0
provides "the big picture."

^1PEF^0 is easy to use: the program first prompts you to tell it whether you rent
or own your home, then whether you are single or married. Next, the program
displays a "worksheet" that covers everything from your annual salary to
household expenses.

When you first run the program, sample values are provided for each category.
You edit these values to reflect your situation. (Just follow the screen
prompts.) Once you have entered the data and determined how many years you want
projected, you can begin the "run." ^1PEF^0 sifts through your data, then provides
a breakdown of such categories as your personal property value and net worth. A
print option lets you make a hardcopy of ^1PEF^0 projections for your records. More
than likely, you'll want to consult the information ^1PEF^0 provides before making
important financial decisions.
