^C^1WORDS OF FORTUNE
^Cby
^CSteven J. M. Gibbons

If you're one of the millions who tune into the "Wheel of Fortune" each day,
^1Words of Fortune^0 might soon become one of your favorite computer games.

About the only way ^1Words of Fortune^0 differs from the popular game show is
that the computer rather than a comely hostess reveals guessed letters. (While
we suppose that "Wheel" host Pat Sajak could be computerized with little effort,
translating Vanna's charms to the PC is still beyond today's technology.)

Otherwise, the program will be familiar to "Wheel" fans: players take turns
guessing the letters of a phrase -- the name of a place or an old saying, for
example. The point value for a correctly guessed letter is determined by a spin
of the wheel. (As in the game show, vowels cost $250.) Each turn, players have
the option of spinning, buying a vowel, or skipping ("passing") their turn.
Only when a player has correctly guessed the puzzle does the game end.

The program's "adjust" option lets you customize the game: you can toggle
sound effects, increase the speed of spinning, have the values on the wheel
changed after every game, and change screen colors. "Quit" returns you to BIG
BLUE DISK.

There are 35 puzzles in this version of ^1Words of Fortune^0, enough for hours of
playing. If you really enjoy the game, however, you might want to check out
Steven Gibbons' expanded version of the program -- it gives you 200 puzzles and
an option for adding your own puzzles to the program. Consult the ^1Words of
^1Fortune^0 title screen for information on ordering the expanded version.
