The Ghost can be brought out by pressing the Select button on your controller. You can view your mission objectives, view markers, and summon vehicles. For now you're weaponless and powerless. The Fallen has taken over the area and they'll converge your position shortly. Follow the path and sprint to the Cosmodrome entrance. Once inside, follow the Ghost and let it lead the way. The Breach ========= Once you reach a very large, dark room, wait for some power to be restored. A group of Fallen will become briefly visible. The Ghost will open a nearby grate. Follow it and grab the Khovstov rifle. Continue along the path and expect a couple of Dregs to appear around the second corner. Take them down and pick up their ammo drops. Continue forth until you see a wide room. Expect three more Dregs and a Vandal to appear here. Take them all out one by one and move on. After crossing the walkway, you should find a Loot Cache, containing some Glimmer (money) and a Special Weapon (Warlocks and Titans will get a Preacher shotgun while Hunters will get a Calcutta sniper rifle). Switch to your special weapon to reload it. Special weapons uses special ammo, which appear as green ammo boxes when dropped by enemies. Continue around the next corner and you'll find some trip mines. Shoot them from a distance to remove them from the path, then move along the corridor. Expect more enemies to appear and trip mines to be deployed. Take them out and continue to another large room. More enemies will appear here so take them all out before you can continue. Leave the room and continue along the path. Go through the ventilation tunnel until you reach an open area. The Divide ========= Follow the marker to the north and kill more enemies. At this point, you should have leveled up already. Open your character menu and open the upgrade window. Buy the grenade to unlock the skill. Every class has their own unique grenade. Close the window and use the grenade in the group of enemies in the next room. Clear the room and the following reinforcements. Head to the next area where a shielded mini-boss is waiting. Take out his minions and don't rush towards him carelessly. He can do short-range teleportation and regenerate his shield so you need to shower him with a continuous stream of bullets. Pick his minions one by one then concentrate your fire until he is defeated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM02 02: Restoration --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old Russia, Earth Objective: Return to Fallen Territory and hunt for parts to restore your ship's ability for interplanetary travel. Level 2 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 1800 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Steppes ========== When you're in orbit, set your destination and select Earth. Choose the only available mission at this point. Other Guardians can join you in this mission though you can tackle it alone. Upon arriving, call your Ghost to view your objective. There are already Fallen in the area so you can clear them out to earn EXP. The area is quite large so you can explore as much as you can. Use your hovercraft to cover long distances faster. Enemies replenish too via drop ships so you don't need to worry not getting a piece of the action especially if you have team mates. There are also some Spinmetal leaves here that you can collect. Follow the marker and go up the hill to find a crashed ship. Clear the enemies there if there's any, then deploy your ghost to examine the wreckage. After that, your objective will lead you to the tunnels. There are a couple of tunnel entrances in this map. From the wreckage, you can clear the enemies around the large building in the middle of the area, right outside of the building then go downstairs from there. You may find some green loot chests in the area. These are random but helpful, nevertheless. What you want to look out for are Gold Loot chests. These chests can only be looted once and their contents never scale to your character's level so you'll find them useful as early as you can get them. Explore the room until you find the information hub. As much as you want to explore, I suggest avoid going down the dark basement since it contains high level enemies that their level will appear “??” to you. Just get to the information hub and deploy your Ghost to update your objective. Exit back to the surface. Once outside, summon your Ghost to reveal the waypoint. Head there and enter the destroyed building. Look out for the Gold Chest on the table along the way. It's in the open so it shouldn't be missable. Continue forth to reach Dock 13. Dock 13 (Darkness Zone) ==================== This area is considered as Darkness Zone which means you can't respawn. If ever you die, you'll start at the beginning of the area. This is a boss area, where you'll have to fight the Devil Archon and his Vandals. This battle is pretty much manageable, as long as you don't face the enemies head on. Take some potshots at it while eliminating its minions. Use your grenades whenever you can, especially whenever the enemies are grouped together. After eliminating the boss, you'll obtain the Warp Drive and make sure to pick up the drops before the mission timer runs out. The mission will be complete afterward. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM03 03: The Dark Within --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old Russia, Earth Objective: Investigate reports of a hidden power trapped in the Cosmodrome Array stations Level 3 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 1800 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Steppes ========== You can go and explore the area for randomized materials and loot chests. When you're ready, head north; use the Ghost's marker as necessary. You can summon your vehicle or just head there by foot. The Mothyards ========== Once you reach the Mothyards, you'll find a large collection of rotting cargo planes. There might be some loot cache inside, as well as Fallen lurking within. Just fight your way or slip past them to reach the Skywatch. Once there, defeat the Fallen Captain and his Vandals then continue inside. Take note that the Fallen Captain and his minions will respawn shortly after you leave the area. Continue forth until you reach the next area. Lunar Complex (Darkness Zone) ========================= Head deeper inside and keep an eye to your tracker. Examine the door and deploy your Ghost. Once it opens the gate, continue upstairs to reach a pitch black room. Be prepared since you'll encounter new enemies here called Thralls. These are fast and hardened beasts that will rush towards you and claw you to death. You can take them out instantly by well-placed headshots using guns or melee attacks. There are also some Acolytes lurking here but they can be easily spotted because of the green lights on their heads. Continue upstairs to find more enemies. There will be more Thralls and Acolytes here so just pick them off one by one. You can lob a grenade while they're grouped together to take out several of them in one blast. After clearing the first part of the room, you'll encounter the Wizard, heavily defended by its escorts in the next room. Take out his minions then concentrate your fire at him whenever you get the chance. Just keep hitting them and using your grenades whenever you can to blast his shield off. Fortunately, only the Wizard's shield regenerates; his health doesn't. Once he's alone, be more aggressive and close the distance. Circle around the machineries for cover and melee him when you have the chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM04 04: The Warmind --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old Russia, Earth Objective: Break the House of Devil's grasp on the Cosmodrome and secure a vital link to the Golden Age. Level 4 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 1800 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Steppes ========= You'll start this mission in the location as the last mission. Make your way to the Mothyards to set up a vehicle grid. The Mothyards ========= Follow the marker and it will lead you to a garage where the device that you need to activate is located. Deploy your Ghost to the link and you'll be able to summon your Sparrow afterward. There's another Dead Ghost location in this immediate area and you need the Sparrow's boost ability to reach it. After awakening the ghost, follow the narrow path, past the waterfall and across the stream. Before the next corner, you should see another cave entrance. Go in there to find another Golden Chest. The Forgotten Shore ================ Upon reaching the Shore, your Ghost will place the markers ahead leading to the amplifiers' location. Before heading there, there's another Gold Chest in this area that you can get. There's an uphill path across the shipwreck you're supposed to check out. Follow that path and you'll see and overlook with a red flag. Carefully descend to the ravine below and follow the coast to find the chest in the end. Head to the shipwreck and take out the enemies. Deploy your Ghost on the first amplifier. Once done, you have to go to the ruins on another hill by the shore. There's also a high level Reaver near the cave entrance ahead. This guy may drop good equipment and good amount of Glimmer upon defeat so you can attempt to kill it. The cave behind him can also spawn a loot chest so it's worth checking it out. Fight your way to the industrial ruins and clear it out. Examine the amplifier with your ghost to complete the current objective. Next, you'll need to check out the Skywatch. Leave the place, summon your vehicle and follow the marker leading to the uphill highway past the shore. Terrestial Complex (Darkness Zone) ============================ You'll find yourself in another Darkness Zone so be very careful, especially if you're tackling this mission solo with just ample equipment. Once inside, take out the first wave of enemies. The gate ahead will open up shortly, revealing more enemy reinforcements. There's a Dead Ghost near the entrance as well. Continue upstairs and prepare for an assault of cloaked (invisible) Fallen that will rush towards you. Don't let them swarm on you; fall back while firing a hail of bullets then melee them when they come too close for comfort. Head to the room and defeat the captain, as well as any remaining enemies. When cleared, deploy your Ghost to the machine. Now you have to defend your Ghost while it extracts information from the Warmind. The first wave of enemies are just pushovers. The next waves however, will get more and more difficult. Just keep moving and take cover when you need to recover your shields. The last wave will include floating purple balls of energy called Servitors. These enemies seem to shield any nearby allied units and their only weakness is their eye-like spot in the middle. Just use an automatic weapon to quickly dispose of them. After successfully defending the Warmind, destroy it to complete the mission. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM05 05: The Last Array --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old Russia, Earth Objective: Track down codes to raise an Ancient Array and connect it to long-lost colonies throughout the solar system Level 5 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 1800 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mothyards =========== This will be your starting area for this mission. You can explore if you want but to continue to the mission, you have to head to the Lunar Complex building. Use your vehicle to get there faster. Clear out a couple of Vandals and their captain by the Lunar Complex entrance then continue inside. Lunar Complex =========== Continue back to the pitch black room. There are no enemies here anymore so proceed to the area where you fought the Wizard before. You'll find a group of Hive and Fallen units engaged in a firefight. Kill them all and kill the Fallen captain inside the room. If you haven't acquired the Golden Chest here yet, you may get it easily now since you should have your Double Jump/Lift/Glide skill. Once done, leave the Lunar Complex through the corridors until you reach the next area. Skywatch =========== There are more Fallen and Hive units fighting each other here so you can pick them off while they kill each other. You have to keep killing Fallen units and pick up the dead ghosts (different from the collectible ones) they drop. Once you find a working ghost, your objective will be updated and you'll have to the next where the marker is point. Kill all enemies if you want then head inside. You'll finally reach the next area. Terrestial Complex (Darkness Zone ============================ Fight your way through the corridors and leave the building. Once outside, you'll find a Fallen dropship dropping some Fallen units. Take them out and fight your way to the control station. When you're near the control station, beware of a couple of stealth vandals that will rush towards you. They can take you out especially if your shields are not fully up. Kill all enemies inside guarding the array control. Once clear, head inside and deploy your Ghost. Head back to the entrance and watch the array unfold. You'll also find Hive Tombships appearing out of the sky, dropping more enemies. For the next few minutes, you have to defend the position against thralls, acolytes, and Knights. Stay inside and remember to use your jump skill to get out of the thralls' claws. The last wave of enemies will drop off heavily armored and armed Hallowed Knights. Explosives, heavy weapons, and headshots will deal extra damage to them. Keep fighting and survive the enemy onslaught to complete the mission. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM06 06: The Dark Beyond --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean of Storms, Moon Objective: Follow the trail of a Guardian who went dark searching for a way into the Hive Fortress Level 6 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 2000, Special Weapon Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archer's Line ========== This mission will take you to the Moon, where the Hive has dug in. Head to the lunar accelerator structure ahead. Head inside and find the console where you can deploy your ghost. After deploying it, the whole place will be powered up. This will attract the attention of the Fallen which will send units to come after you. Engage them and kill them all. There will be more enemies outside so take them out. The last wave of enemy reinforcements will consist of another Captain and Servitors. Make sure to target their “eyes” to take them out. There's a Dreg riding a Pike hovercraft outside as well. Kill him and you can use the Pike. Unlike your hovercraft, Pikes are armed with infinite ammo. You can use it to head to the next location and kill enemies with ease at the same time. Head to the next location to trace the lost Guardian's possible destination. Anchor of Light ========== Clear all enemies then investigate the colony base. Deploy the ghost on the console to learn the next location where you need to go. More enemies will engage you along the way. Take them all out and continue forth until you reach a path that can only be trekked on foot. Temple of Crota (Darkness Zone) ========================== Once you've reached the Temple entrance, you'll find the body of the lost Guardian in front of it. Deploy your ghost in attempt to revive him. After the cutscene, fall back and take position up the hill. A swarm of enemies will flow out of the opened gate. The area is now a Darkness Zone so take out the thralls first then pick off the acolytes. There's also a Knight, which is tougher than the rest so use heavy weapons and/or explosives against it. Head inside the temple and take out more enemies. As you move in to the center, you'll find a wizard and his acolytes. Take out the acolytes so you can concentrate on the Wizard. Its attack patterns are the same as the wizard you faced before but the temple has ample cover to protect yourself from its attacks. Destroy its shields so you can deal damage to its health. Defeat it then examine the ghost on the pedestal to complete the mission. After completing the mission, head to the Speaker and deliver him the Dead Ghost you found on the moon. There's also a Dead Ghost (collectible) you can find on the pile of chests near the stairs. Talk to him to receive your reward. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM07 7: The World's Grave --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean of Storms, Moon Objective: Descend into the Hellmouth to a Hive library which holds the ancient secrets they have ripped off Earth. Level 7 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 2000 EXP, Cryptarch Engram, Cryptarch Reputation --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archer's Line ========== Ride your hovercraft and follow the marker. You'll reach a base guarded by Fallen troops. Take them out and enter the base ruins. Continue along the path until you reach the Fortress entrance. There is a Hallowed Knight guarding the entrance so take it out and continue inside. Go deeper inside until you reach the next area. Hall of Wisdom ========== Proceed inside and engage the Hive troops. There are a lot of cover here that will help you flank enemy positions. Make use of them especially if you're fighting solo. As you continue forth, more enemies will be dropped by a Hive Tombship. Be wary of the Shrieker, a floating purple hive unit in the far end of the hall. It fires multiple homing projectiles that can seriously injure you. Take cover and take out the thralls rushing towards you before engaging the other units. Move from cover to cover to avoid the Shrieker's bombardment. Get close and take it out. Keep distance once you destroy it since it will leave homing purple fragments that will explode on impact. Continue further inside to reach the next area. Circle of Bones (Darkness Zone) ========================= Move along and take out more enemies. After clearing the enemies outside the hall, the Knight will be marked on your HUD. Head over there and engage him and his minions. The enemies are somewhat praying to the chain in the middle so you have the small element of surprise. When fighting them, you don't have to confine yourself inside; keep moving and even head outside just in case you're in trouble. Once the Knight has been taken care of, the area will be free of the Darkness. Follow the marker, take out any enemies in sight and head to the next area. The World's Grave (Darkness Zone) ========================= Continue following the path until you reach a hall. It will be empty so take the narrow tunnel leading to another area. There are thralls that will ambush you in these tunnels so be prepared to repel them. Continue to the next hall where more enemies await. As usual, take cover and take out the thralls first. The Knight upstairs will be bombarding you with explosive projectiles so hide and let your shields recover if you're hit with splash damage. Clear this area and move to the next hall. If you need to recharge your shields, you can hide behind the World's Grave. There's also a Gold Chest on the rocks by the pool of water. Continue clearing out the enemies to complete the mission. (Gold Chest) In the chamber where you'll find the World's Grave, it's stuck on the rocks by the pool. It's right below the platform where you came from. If you're standing in front of the World's Grave, it should be on your right. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM08 08: The Sword of Crota --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean of Storms, Moon Objective: Infiltrate the Hive Fortress and destroy the legendary Sword of Crota, a weapon once used to slay Thousands of Guardians. Level 7 Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 2000 EXP, Armor Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archer's Line ========== Get to your hovercraft and follow the marker leading to Hellmouth. Hellmouth ========== This is a wide, open space with several caves you can check for possible chest spawns. There are also pockets of enemy groups around here as well so be careful not to get ambushed. You may also want to collect Helium Filaments. Like Spinmetal Leaves you can collect on Earth, these can be turned over to a specific merchant in the Tower in return for some Vanguard Reputation points. Head to the Ritual Site and take out the initial group of enemies there. Keep killing them until the first Swarm Prince, Banuk Ur Prince appears. Take him out then leave the ritual site. Follow the marker leading to the next temple where the other Swarm Princes are located. Upon reaching the entrance, take out the guards then head inside. Some Knights are waiting there so be prepared to unleash your explosives, heavy /special weapons, or skills to take them out quickly. Head deeper inside until you reach the next area. The Gatehouse (Darkness Zone) ========================== Continue downstairs and clear the next area of enemies. Proceed to the next hallway until you reach a large chamber. Engage the enemies here and be ready to fall back a bit when you hear the shrieks of Thralls rushing towards you. After getting rid of them, look out for the Cursed Thralls following shortly after. Use your jump ability to remain mobile and to quickly reach the upper platforms since more enemies are waiting there. The sword should be visible on the ground levle, near the center of the chamber. Keep fighting until a Wizard shows up. Get rid of him so you can reach and take the Sword without any problems. Shortly after claiming the sword, waves of enemies will appear. Fortunately, the Swarm Princes will appear one by one. You can't unequip the sword so you have to kill all enemies using its (not-so-powerful) melee attacks - that includes the heavily armored Swarm Princes themselves. This part of the mission is a lot easier with at least one partner that will assist in killing the minions and also attracting some of the aggro. This is doable when solo, though you have to take your time by falling back and using your Lift/Glide/Double Jump to remain mobile and to quickly get out of the Swarm Princes' powerful charged-up melee attacks. You must also use your mobility to lure the Thralls away from the rifle-wielding Acolytes to avoid soaking up too much damage. After killing the minions, the Swarm Prince will appear. Remember to engage the Swarm Princes only when your shields are high or better yet, full; facing them with anything less may risk you getting one-hit-KO'ed by their attacks. Be careful when you see a red aura emanating from them; a powerful slash will follow after that so be prepared to jump back. The Princes will only use their swords to attack so use your movement and speed advantage to evade their attacks. They don't have shields either so you can slowly chip away their health using hit-and-run tactics. After defeating the first Swarm prince, the second one will appear immediately with a fresh wave of reinforcements. Fall back a bit and recharge your shields before engaging the annoying Acolytes first. Once the second Swarm Prince gets defeated, the last one will appear immediately as well. Like before, fall back, recharge your shields, take out the minions, then engage the last Prince. After defeating the three Swarm Princes, return to the tower and deliver the Blade Shards to your mentor to get a reward. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM09 09: Chamber of Night --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean of Storms, Moon Level 8 Objective: Scour the Hive Fortress for a chamber where the Speaker believes a dark ritual is silencing the Traveler Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 2000 EXP, Armor Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hellmouth ======== Head to the first marker then deploy the Ghost over the cracks on the ground. Head to the second marker to do the same thing. The area has some Hive troops guarding it so get rid of them first before scanning. After the scan, hop on to your hovercraft and head back to the Anchor of Light. Anchor of Light ============ To get to the Temple, you have to disemabark and continue on foot. Take out the enemies guarding the path then continue forth. Temple of Crota ============ The first area of the temple is heavily guarded. You have to engage and defeat an Ogre as well as some Acolytes so you can proceed. The Ogre is slow and dangerous up close but as long as you keep landing headshots from a distance, it shouldn't be a problem. Once clear, find the stairs leading deeper in the Temple. Thralls are patrolling the stairs so kill them before proceeding. From the stairs, you can go left and fight the enemies inside the connected room in the middle of the cavern or follow the stairs around. Either way, you still have to eliminate the enemies so take whatever path you think is best. After clearing the room, continue downstairs until you reach another large chamber with a Hive Seeder. Shortly after killing an enemy here, three Knights will appear at the same time. They'll be charging towards you with their swords. A well-placed rocket should be enough to take them out or leave a severely wounded one; otherwise, you have to keep moving and shooting to avoid getting cut down. Continue following the straight-forward path until you reach the next area. The World's Grave (Darkness Zone) ============================ As soon as you reach the area, a Hive Tombship will appear and drop troops. Don't go rushing in; if you have a sniper rifle equipped, it's better to pick them off one by one safely from a distance. Once you cleared the first wave of enemies, don't proceed immediately yet. Like before, a group of three Knights will appear shortly. Quickly get rid of them from a distance as well. Proceed a bit and you'll encounter another group of enemies waiting. There are Acolytes hiding behind the rocks and more on the platform ahead. Thralls will be charging towards you as well so be prepared to fall back a bit if necessary. Clear the enemies, go upstairs to the platform and downstairs to find a closed door. The objective will update and you have to kill the Siphon Witches. You can engage them from the stairs and pick them off one by one using your rifle. After killing the Witches, you have to kill all Hive troops that will flood inside the room. Take note that you don't have to fight them while inside the room. You can always fall back to the stairs where you came from and the enemies will stop pursuit. Use that tactic as your emergency escape in case you badly need to recharge your shields. After getting rid of the first wave of enemies consisting of Thralls, Acolytes, and a Knight, the second wave of enemies will have Thralls, Cursed Thralls, Acolytes, and sword-wielding Knights. Keep moving and jump over obstacles to avoid getting caught in the Knights' melee range. Finally, the chamber's boss will appear alongside with the last wave of enemies. This Ogre is very dangerous as it shoots a continuous stream of energy. It will be a good idea to fall back to the stairs so you can safely chip off its life bar using long-ranged attacks. Kill the remaining enemies if there's any then deploy the ghost in the console near the crystal. Mission complete. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM10 10: Shrine of Oryx --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean of Storms, Moon Level 8 Objective:Search the darkest corners of the Hellmouth for the fabled Shrine and destroy it[/strong] Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 2000 EXP, Primary Weapon Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hellmouth ======== Proceed to the shrine entrance and take out the enemies. Go inside and kill the Knights. Go downstairs until you reach the next area. The Gatehouse ============ Continue forth and you'll eventually find a firefight between some Fallen and Hive troops. Kill them all and continue inside. Head to the next chamber and take out all enemies. After clearing the area, go through the open gate and go deeper. Once you reach the next chamber, more Fallen troops will appear. You'll also be required to kill the fallen Baron. Take out his minions first before engaging him. After killing the Baron, follow the marker through a very dark tunnel. Don't worry since there are no enemies here that will ambush you. Follow the path until you reach the next area. Circle of Bones ============ Call your Ghost to see the mission marker. You don't need to clear the entire area of enemies, especially the ones being brought in by dropships. You just need to get rid of the ones blocking your path. Once done, follow the tunnel that leads to the next area. Hall of Wisdom (Darkness Zone) ========================== Join the firefight ahead between the Hive and Fallen troops. There are a lot of obstacles in the area that you can use for cover. After killing them, continue forth and you'll encounter more enemies. Take them all out as well then enter the only tunnel leading to the next area. Shrine of Oryx ============= At the end of the tunnel, you have to fight your way through several Hive and a few Fallen troops again. After clearing the enemies in the immediate area, continue forth until another wave of enemies appear, including an Ogre. Take it out quickly before it pins you down with its energy projectiles. Once done, clear the remaining enemies in the area and head through the next tunnel. A handful of thralls and a Knight will ambush you before you reach the end of the tunnel. Kill them and follow the tunnel to reach the Shrine. There are Acolytes worshiping around the shrine so engage them and kill them all. Once done, go the central pedestal underneath the shrine and deploy your Ghost to find its weakness. Head outside and look for a large gate nearby. A boss and its minions will make an appearance there shortly. Aside from the minions that will appear alongside the boss, beware of the other Hive troops that will appear from another location. One good (but cheap) strategy when doing this mission alone is falling back to the tunnel where you came from earlier and take out the minions there. The thralls won't follow you and you'll have a good vantage point to snipe the Acolytes hiding behind cover. Once you've taken them out, engage the boss by moving from cover to cover and aiming on its head. After taking out the boss, the Shrine will be weakened now. Shoot it with any weapon until it gets destroyed. Mission complete. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM11 11: A Stranger's Call --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ishtar Sink, Venus Level 10 Objective:Follow the Stranger's coordinates to a legendary colony lost in the jungles of Venus[/strong] Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 3000 XP, Armor Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Headlands ========= The area is thriving with plants containing Spirit Blooms which serves as the collectible material unique to Venus. Make sure to collect them whenever you have the chance. You don't have anything to do here at the moment so follow the marker leading to the city ruins. Shattered Coast ============= You can skip past the first group of enemies here or just kill them all. Continue moving along the path until you find the Guardian Outpost. Take out all enemies there and deploy your Ghost in the terminal. You should now be able to summon your hovercraft and your objective will be updated as well. The Vex Sensor terminal is located in the building straight ahead from the outpost. There's a Fallen patrol along the way so it's up to you to ignore or engage them. The building where the sensors are located are crawling with Fallen as well. Take them out and deploy your Ghost on the Sensor to activate it. Leave the building and follow the marker. This will lead you to an underground passage. Look out for the golden chest sitting on top of a box in the middle of the room before proceeding. It's really hard to the miss. Ishtar Library ========== After looting the chest, continue along the passage until you reach the academy library. Deploy your Ghost to the Conflux in the middle to examine it. Make sure your weapons are loaded since a Vex detachment will teleport in your location. Vex units are still vulnerable to headshots though their headless bodies will charge towards you while firing their weapons until you completely destroy them. They can also teleport in a short distance so make sure you remain mobile to avoid getting pinned and flanked. You have to defend yourself from waves and waves of Vex troops – each wave has increasing number of stronger units. The Hobgoblin for example is the Vex counterpart for the Fallen's Vandal or the Hive's Acolyte units. However, it can deploy a fire shield that can nullify any type of damage while it is active. You'll also encounter a heavy, shielded unit called the Minotaur which has better armor and higher firepower. Avoid fighting it up close especially if there are still a lot of Goblins around. The bookshelves in the upper floors provide excellent cover in case you need to take a breather and regenerate your shields. Use the covers to your advantage to pick the enemies off one by one. Keep killing them until clear out the last batch of Vex troops. A cutscene will trigger afterward. After that, the mission will be complete. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM12 12: The Awoken --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Reef, Asteroid Belt Level 10 Objective:Travel to the home of the Awoken and find what they know about the Black Garden[/strong] Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is just a cinematic and you don't need to do anything except watch the scene. After the scene, you'll have to return to Venus to finish two newly unlocked story missions there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM13 13: Ishtar Collective --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ishtar Sink, Venus Level 11 Objective:Unravel the secrets of the Vex by reviving an ancient research station of the Ishtar Collective.[/strong] Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 3000 XP, Armor Upgrade --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Headlands ========= Ride your Sparrow and follow the marker leading to the Shattered Coast. Shattered Coast ============ After reaching the coast, you can fight through or go past the enemy patrols here. Head towards the building where you activated the Vex sensors earlier then turn left. You should reach a dirt road. Follow that road to reach the next area. Ishtar Cliffs ========== Head to the marker and you'll encounter a considerable Vex force converging around the swamp. Shortly after, a Vex Cyclops will appear. You have to destroy it in order to collect its core. Be careful of its explosive energy projectiles as it can take out a good chunk of your shield meter. Like a Fallen Servitor, its weakness is its eye so concentrate your fire on it to destroy it. Don't hang out in the area too long as well since it can respawn quickly, along with the fresh set of reinforcements. Leave the area and proceed to the research station. Waking Ruins ============ You don't have to do anything here at the moment. This is also the location of the Vault of Glass (end-game) raid mission. Ignore it for now and just drive past it to reach the entrance of the ruins itself. Follow the straightforward path through the ruins until you reach the research station. Campus 9 (Darkness Zone) ====================== The area is crawling with Fallen. It will be better to clear the area before heading to the next marker to make your job easier. There are a lot of cover and vantage points here so use that to your advantage. There's also a Fallen Captain near the objective point so you'll have take him out as well as his troops. Once done, deploy your Ghost on the terminal. You have to fend off waves and waves of Vex troops while your ghost is retrieving the data. The last wave will include some Minotaurs so be careful not to get caught between them, especially when they go berserk once you blow off their heads. After killing all enemies, the mission will be complete. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM14 14: The Archive --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ishtar Sink, Venus Level 12 Objective:Find the Collective's lost Archive, sealed for centuries, in a vault deep beneath the Ishtar Academy.[/strong] Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 3000 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Headlands ======== Ride your Sparrow and make your way to the Shattered Coast Shattered Coast ============= Eliminate or go past the Fallen patrols here and enter the Academy through the underground passage you took during the first story mission in Venus. Ishtar Academy ============ After exiting the tunnel, you'll find Vex and Fallen units engaged in a firefight. You can just run past them and head through the open door in the middle, in the far end of the library. Follow the path until you reach the next area. Ishtar Commons ============ Head outside and you'll see more Fallen and Hive units exchanging fire. You don't need to engage and kill them all. Just go inside the next building and go through the doorway under the stairs. You can take out the Fallen troops stationed there if you need to. Continue along the hallways until you reach the next area. Hall of Whispers (Dark Zone) ======================== The Fallen has already occupied the area so you have to clear them all out. There are enemy units stationed on the upper floor of the nearby building so you may want to start clearing it first to gain a good vantage point to snipe the enemies below. Keep killing all Fallen units in the area until your objective updates. Once the area's cleared. Go to the Archive's entrance and deploy the Ghost in the panel near the front desk. This should open the heavy, metal door of the structure. The Archive ========== Once inside, follow the marker and deploy the Ghost in the Archive's main computer. A few seconds later, the Fallen will follow you in and you have to take them out. There are explosive canisters lying around. You can detonate those to take out multiple enemies that may be standing near them. Kill the first wave of intruders Keep killing enemies until the next wave with a Servitor appears. Destroy the Servitor and its minions then repair the broken conduit near the entrance by deploying your Ghost on it. More enemies will appear so take them out then proceed to the backup conduit. Expect more enemies to appear. Hunt down the other Servitor and its minions then repair the backup Conduit. The last wave of enemies will appear, including some Reaver Vandals and a Baron. Kill them all to complete the mission. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SM15 15: Scourge of Winter --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ishtar Sink, Venus Level 12 Objective:Hunt and kill Draksis, the House of Winter's Kell, hiding deep in the caves of the Ishtar Sink Fireteam: 1-3 players Cooperative Rewards: 3000 XP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Headlands ========= You'll be in the same starting point. Ride your sparrow and continue following the path until you reach a new area. Ember Caves ========= Once you've reached the area, you'll find the place littered with several Fallen troops. You need to head past the blue ponds and clear the enemies in the next installation platform. Use the jagged rocks nearby for cover and pick them off one by one. Follow the path and fight your way uphill. Be careful since there's also a Reaver Captain near the cave entrance along the way. Once the enemies around the entrance is cleared, head inside the cave. Keep going until you reach the next area. Winter's Lair ========= You'll encounter a small Fallen group shortly as you follow the tunnels. Kill them all and continue forth until you reach a large cavern with a large number of enemies. The rocks will provide ample cover to protect you from the enemies as you clear them out. Once you're done with the first group of enemies, make your way to the upper level where more enemies are waiting – including a couple of Kell's Guards. Use your Super against them if you are supercharged; otherwise, pick them off from cover and deal with the pesky minions in case they're giving you a hard time focusing on the guards. Clear all enemies and follow the path leading to the next tunnel. Keep following the path until you reach the next area. (Gold Chest) There's a Gold Chest stuck on one of the rocky ledges above. Follow the path uphill until you reach the upper ledges. Right before the next tunnel leading to the mission marker, you can jump on a small ledge near the orange lamp. From there, you can double jump, lift, or glide to reach the chest. The Cinders (Darkness Zone) ======================== Keep walking until you find a Fallen Ketch. You have to fight your way through a large number of Fallen forces. Don't rush; just take out the targets within your sights one by one as you make your way through closer to the massive ship. There are more enemies waiting below. Use the ground elevation to your advantage. If you have a sniper rifle, the uphill path is a very good vantage point to take out enemies safely from a distance. Once you've whittled down the enemies, continue fighting your way uphill this time, leading to the ketch's loading bay. A couple of vandals will be sniping you with their fusion rifles. Rush towards them and take them out. Before heading inside, there's another Gold Chest location here that you can find. (Gold Chest) Once you've reached the Kell's ketch (ship), check then bow-side of the loading/docking platform (this is after the small ramp to your right, as soon as you enter the ship) to find the chest there. After looting the Gold Chest, follow the marker as it leads you deeper inside the ship. More enemies will be waiting inside, lead by a Reaver Captain. Be careful of the melee Vandals that will be engaging you immediately as you enter, and the fusion rifle-equipped vandals in the upper walkway. Kill them all and proceed deeper in the ship. Wintership Simiks-Fel ================= Follow the corridor and you'll be ambushed by more enemy units. After getting rid of them, go through the hatch and continue along the straightforward hallway. This will lead you to a large room with more enemies. There's also a Kell's Guard here. After getting rid of them continue forth until you reach the throne room where Draksis is located. You can snipe the enemies by staying in the edge of the hatch, just enough to keep it open but not too far to trigger the boss fight. He has a couple of elite guards with him and several minions. Draksis can deal heavy damage
up close so you have to keep running around and use the various platform
elevations, or objects as cover. The small objects in the room works well
against Draksis' height since you can shoot his head out of cover while his
shots will get blocked. Prioritize taking out his elite guards and any
minions that may get in your way.
Draksis can also teleport and attempt to hit you with a devastating melee
attack. Once you see him teleport, anticipate this move and jump away to
avoid it. The elite Kell's Guards won't respawn but expect Shanks to pour
in continuously to annoy you. Keep moving, shoot behind cover, and use your
super attacks to defeat him.
After completing the mission, head back to the tower to surrender the
mission item you acquired from defeating the boss. You can also exchange
the Strange Trinket you got from the mission to get a Strange Coin.

The Citadel
==========
This area has a lot of Vex activity, including deadly Axis Minotaurs
guarding the platform in the middle of the ruins. You don't need to kill
them as part of the objectives in the current mission so fighting them is
entirely optional. The vex positions in the area is also regularly
replenished shortly after you wipe them out so keep your edge while
exploring this area.
Your objective is to find the conflux in this ruins. It is guarded by
several minotaurs. Kill them all and deploy your ghost to investigate the
conflux. Next, ride your vehicle and follow the path leading to the next
area.
Waking Ruins
==========
Kill any enemies that may get in your way then head inside the ruins. Keep
moving along the path until you reach Campus 9.
Campus 9 (Darkness Zone)
======================
The area is now a darkness zone. To increase your chances of survival, it
will be a good idea to kill all enemies you'll encounter along the way.
Clear the research site's immediate area, then go further to the ruins past
the site. There are several gates in the area which will activate once
you're near. Enemy reinforcements will keep pouring in until you shut down
the gates. Just shoot them to close the gates. Keep doing this as you
slowly make your progress in the ruins.
You have to be careful of the annoying hobgoblins that will snipe you at
the top of the ruins. If possible take them out first using your own sniper
rifle or just move from cover to cover to avoid getting sniped. Keep
fighting off the additional vex units that the gates spews out.
Take out the last few remaining active gates and eliminate the vex Hydra
guarding the stairs. Shoot it only when its shield isn't up. Keep your
distance after destroying it since its after-death explosion can also
fatally wound any Guardian near the blast radius. Keep moving forth until
you reach the next area.
Endless Steps
=============
There are more enemies waiting here. Eliminate the enemies as you make your
way up the massive stone “steps”. Once all enemies are cleared, you have to
summon the gate lord by standing inside the summoning circle.
Zydron, the Gate Lord will appear shortly, along with his wave of minions.
Hobgoblins will snipe you at a distance, while the Goblins will try to
overwhelm you with numbers while serving as cannon fodder in order to
protect their master. The Gate Lord's weapon has a devastating splash
damage so use the boulders in the area to move around and take out the
minions so you can concentrate your attacks on the boss. Use your
character's boosted jumps to remain mobile and to move to the safety of
cover, or well outside the enemies' attack range.
The Gate Lord will keep calling in reinforcements so deal with them
efficiently, and fast so you can proceed with attacking the boss. Keep
repeating this until you overpower the boss and defeat it.
Completing this mission will unlock the last location, Mars.

The Barrens
=========
Follow the marker and head to the nearby Cabal bunker. There are no enemies
in the immediate area yet so just head inside. Deploy Ghost in the marked
terminal and wait for it to hack the system. Your little buddy will
accidentally trigger a failsafe, which will prompt the sudden pour of enemy
reinforcements.
The Cabal are heavily armored, slow, and powerful units. Like other races,
their weak to headshots. Deal with their Phalanx troopers by shooting their
hands to stagger them and leave themselves open. Short, accurate rifle
bursts or well-placed hand cannon shots should be enough to kill their
low-tier units instantly. After eliminating all enemies, you should be able
to summon your Sparrow now. Ride your vehicle and follow the dirt road
leading to the Scablands.
Scablands
=========
There's a constant battle here between the Vex and Cabal. You can join the
firefight if you feel like it; otherwise, just dash past the base and
follow the road.
Giant's Pass
=========
You'll eventually reach a heavily defended part of the road. Disembark from
your vehicle and engage the Cabal stationed there. Fight your way through
until you reach a pedestal where you can deploy Ghost. After Ghost
activates the device, a Cabal dropship will arrive and unleash more enemy
units. Be careful of the dropship's guns as it can deal considerable damage
as well.
Among the enemies that will be dropped is a Centurion called Bracus
Tho'ourg. Keep moving and use the covers to outflank his minions and allow
you to recharge your shields as necessary. His weapon fires slow
projectiles so you can easily evade it and land your shots on him as well.
Continue pummeling him with your shots to prevent him from regenerating his
shields.
After defeating him, ride your vehicle and follow the road until you reach
the next area.
Valley of the Kings
==============
Go to the Cabal base there and fight your way to the survey post. The
area's not that guarded so you'll encounter minimal resistance as you storm
the base. Once inside the survey post overlooking the cliff, deploy Ghost
on the device nearby to complete the mission.

The Barrens
=========
Ride your Sparrow and head to the Scablands.
The Scablands
=========
You have to infiltrate the Warbase there. As daunting as the name implies,
it is quite lightly guarded. You can pick off the Cabal stationed there one
by one if you want to. Head further inside and you'll find another outpost
with several enemies. Fight your way through them. Before you reach the
tunnel leading to the next area, more reinforcements will arrive, including
a Colossus. Defeat them all and continue through the tunnel until you reach
the next area.
Rubicon Wastes
=============
The observation tower is located to your immediate right. Go up the hill
and engage the enemies in the area. The tower's ramp is guarded by a
colossus. Take out the other enemies in the area so you can concentrate in
killing this hulking walking armor. Once done, deploy Ghost to the terminal
then leave the tower.
There are some interceptor hovertanks in the base along the way. You can
hijack one and use it to break through the heavily defended spots in the
area. Continue along the base's hallway to reach the next area.
Iron Line (Darkness Zone)
=====================
Head towards the main gate ahead and expect an ambush. Fall back behind
cover and engage the enemies. There are three main gates that will open one
by one, unleashing small waves of enemies. Eliminate them all then deploy
Ghost on the door. Once opened, a small group of Phalanx (including an
elite Imperial Phalanx) will welcome you. Deal with them accordingly, then
continue forth inside the base.
The Legion's Keep
===============
Find the exit and you'll find the Spire across the bridge. As soon as you
set foot, a large squad of enemies will ambush you. Fall back if necessary
then then use precision shots to quickly kill the enemies on the bridge.
After crossing the bridge, continue eliminating the remaining enemies
around the spire. Once you've wiped out the enemies, head to the conduit
and deploy Ghost to wake up the Eye.
While the Eye is getting energized, a boss will arrive along with his
minions. He's slow and his weapon isn't that damaging but you have to keep
mobile while eliminating his minions so you can concentrate your fire on
him. Heavy weapons works well against this boss, especially solid rocket
hits.

Continue past the Cabal Base there and you'll spot the Vex Conflux in the
far side of the area. As you get near, Vex units will warp in to protect
it. Destroy them all then deploy Ghost on the conflux. After Ghost finishes
analyzing it, your objective will be updated. Hop on to your vehicle and
ride to the next area.
The Drift
==========
Follow the dirt road until you enter a ruined building which will take you
to The Buried City.
The Buried City
==========
You have to enter the Freehold Station but don't be hasty in storming the
place. There are some powerful Vex units inside and around the station like
Harpy Zealots, Goblin Disciples, Axis Harpy, and an Axis Minotaur. It will
better if you take them out first; otherwise, you can just get past them,
if your armor can withstand their attacks.
Freehold Station
=============
Once you enter the station, you'll be in a large, pitch-black hall of the
station. Continue inside and more Vex units will warp in. Destroy them all
and find your way out of the hall to reach the exit.
More enemies are waiting outside. There's also a Cyclops blocking the way.
You have to destroy it in order to proceed. It's weak point is its “eye”.
Use the room's pillars and walls as cover to protect yourself from its
powerful energy projectiles. It will continuously summon lesser Vex troops
to deter you. Just concentrate on the Cyclops and take out the Vex minions
only if they present immediate threat. Once the cyclops is destroyed, kill
all remaining Vex then proceed to the next area.
Tharsis Junction (Darkness Zone)
==========================
Upon reaching the area, you'll encounter more Vex units. Kill all enemies
in the area and proceed. Ghost will inform you about the Vex Transfer Gates
in the area. You have to take these out quickly since they'll continue
spewing out Vex units until destroyed.
Once the first area is cleared, continue forth to the tunnel and you'll
encounter more Transfer Gates. Be careful of the Hobgoblins on top of the
train cars. They'll continue taking potshots at you at a distance. At the
end of the tunnel, you'll find more Transfer Gates. Expect heavy resistance
since there are also a lot of Vex already deployed here. There's also an
elite Minotaur here called Prohibitive Mind. Be careful when dealing with
it; it's best to eliminate the goblins around it or use splash-damage
attacks like explosives.
After clearing all enemies and destroying all Transfer Gates, investigate
the conflux to complete the mission.

The Barrens
=========
Ride your sparrow and head to the Hollows.
The Hollows
=========
Head towards Building 5, as marked in the map then take out the Cabal
guards outside. Head inside where you'll encounter Cabal Phalanxes and more
Legionaries. Take them out then continue upstairs. Kill the enemies there,
including a powerful Imperial Centurion then deploy Ghost on the nearby
device to tap to the Cabal feed.
Once the mission objective has been updated, enter the adjacent building
through an opening on its side and kill all enemies inside. Continue forth
until you reach the next area.
Dust Palace (Darkness Zone)
=======================
Head to the large hall where more Cabal units are waiting. Eliminate them
all then exit to the next hallway. Follow the hallway until you reach what
seems to be the skyscraper's main lobby. Aside from the Cabal, Vex units
will teleport in and a firefight between the two opposing factions will
ensue seconds later. Eliminate the units on both sides as you make your way
to the upper level of the building. Continue upstairs to reach the next
area.
Overwatch
=========
More enemies are waiting in this area, including a heavily armed colossus.
The area will provide a lot of cover and fall-back spots in case you find
yourself in a pinch. Continue further inside until you reach the last room
of the floor. Clear all Cabal in the area until the last group of
reinforcements arrive.
A powerful colossus called Bracus Tha'aurn is part of the group. His
rockets deal considerable damage per hit and he can unleash more in a short
span of time. Make sure to keep moving and take out his minions if they're
giving you a hard time. Bracus' shields also regenerate so make sure to
keep landing shots on him until his HP is depleted. Remember that you can
always leave the room and regenerate your shield from a safe location
before engaging the boss and his minions again. After killing the boss,
eliminate the remaining enemies in the area. Finally, deploy Ghost on the
machine to analyze it. Mission complete.

SM21
21: The Black Garden

Meridian Bay, Mars
Level 18
Objective:Fight through the Gate and enter the Black Garden to destroy its
heart[/strong]

Head to the Valley of Kings and eliminate the Vex guarding the gate. After
eliminating them, head towards the portal to reach the Black Garden. Follow
the path until you encounter several Goblins on both sides of the hallway.
Some of them will reactivate and attack you. Take them all out then
continue forth. You'll reach a large room with several stone blocks.
Several Vex portals will open here, unleashing tons of enemies. Take them
all out then continue along the narrow corridor. Be warned though; more
enemies are waiting inside these halls. Keep moving until you enter an
unnamed Darkness Zone, leading outside.
The corridor leading outside is clear so just rush through it and exit the
ruins. You'll be greeted by a surreal landscape, and the heart of the Black
Garden should be visible below. Move along until you reach a courtyard.
There's a Cyclops that will be blocking your path so eliminate the Goblins
and Hobgoblins in the area before dealing with it. Continue deeper in the
Garden, past the spot where the Cyclops is blocking earlier. It won't be
long before you have to fight a Vex horde again. This time, with an elite
hydra called the Devisive Mind along with them. It's attacks deal
considerable damage but it's won't pose a problem as long as you eliminate
its minions first and you fire from cover.
Take them all out to power down the barrier. You should be able to go
downstairs now and reach outside. You have to descend down the hill and
take out the hobgoblins sniping you. A small group of Vex will intercept
you at the base of the descent so take them all out and continue to the
next Darkness Zone.
Continue eliminating the enemies and pressing on until you get an update
for your objective. You have to scan
two Vex clusters. Each cluster has several Vex defending it. Fight your way
through the defenses and deploy Ghost once you're able to reach the
clusters.
After successfully scanning both clusters, a conflux will appear shortly.
Defeat any Vex that will appear and deploy Ghost once again on that
conflux. Wait for a few seconds and the gate leading to the Heart will
open. Enter inside and prepare for battle.
After the cutscene, you have to eliminate the Vex in the area below. Take
note that some of them will teleport to your location so take them out
quickly as necessary. Once their number has whittled down a bit, jump down
to the area below – use your jump skill to break the fall.
Continue fighting off the increasing Vex numbers until they are completely
annihilated. You'll have a quick breather so use this chance to collect
ammo and make sure all your weapons are reloaded. The Heart will start
reviving the giant stone statues one by one but fortunately, you only have
to deal with them one at a time.
The first statue is called the Eschaton Mind. It fires slow yet continuous
energy projectiles, similar to a hydra. It will also come with harpy
reinforcements. Like ordinary goblins, the white crystal on its belly is
its weak point. Fall back to the area under the platform if you need to
regenerate your health and shields. Just be careful not to stand near the
edge; otherwise you'll suffer splash damage from its projectiles. You also
have to look out for the minions to avoid your regeneration from being
interrupted.
The second Progeny to be activated is called The Imminent Mind. Its
projectiles are still the same though it seems to be more aggressive and
will fire its weapon more frequently. It's minions are composed of annoying
goblins and hobgoblins. Make sure to deal with them first to prevent them
from overrunning you. The Progeny seems to be able to track you with ease
so you have to be mobile, fire a few shots from cover, then fall back and
move to another firing spot. This will help keeping your damage to a
minimum while you're delivering constant damage to the target. Keep doing
this until the enemy is defeated.
Finally, the last Progeny, Primeval Mind, will be activated. It fires slow
but large explosive energy projectiles, capable of critically damaging you.
Avoid firing from the same spot. You have to do the hit-and-run tactic
against this boss while fending off its Goblin and Minotaur reinforcements.
You should be able to land hits using high-damage weapons like rocket
launchers or fusion rifles between the intervals in the Primeval Mind's
shots. Keep doing this until the three of them are defeated.
Don't forget to collect the loot they'll drop as well. Congratulations for
finishing the main story!
