Considering a few people have asked me for a new guide I have decided to concede to their wishes. This will be an ongoing process; look for frequent updates in the coming months. Anyone familiar with my previous guide for WotS2 should know what to expect. It is fairly self explanatory. I only have the harder to locate swords listed for the moment. Anyone that wants to contribute will get due credit. This would be much appreciated as I can barely decipher some text on my SDTV, I'm using the PS3. I'm certain I used some incorrect names... Very basic upgrading section. It is much more stream-lined this go 'round. Dojima is not a complete ****** this time. I know, I'm shocked too... Weapon Creation is where it is at this time! What a great addition to the franchise. It makes you wonder why they took so long to get around to it. Shame that some of the better looking Parts add ridiculous amounts of Weight. ******************************************************************************** Part 1.2 Authorized Sites ******************************************************************************** www.GameFAQs.com If you want to host my FAQ contact me. The just require the effort to follow through. They are all worth it, to be honest. If only to complete your collection and add to your move list for Created Weapons. Some are better than others. You will be disappointed with what has been done to some of the former WotS cameo weapons. I know I was... As usual, they are all obtained on Hard unless otherwise noted. Though you do not have to play on Hard to obtain them, unless I mention otherwise. I did notice better statistics, Weight, and Quality on Hard and Instant Kill. SPfA = Set Parameters for Attack SPfD = Set Parameters for Defense StK = Stats to Keep My StK focuses solely on Weight and Quality. As there are now set parameters for Attack and Defense there is very little differentiation. Whatever you are comfortable with for the most part. - Why? +30 total points is why. Very few weapons have such a differential that you should forego looking for the higher quality versions. As this means you can get more total points. The time it takes to acquire my StK and higher end SPfA/SPfD is ridiculous as it is completely random. Rating - 1 to 5 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. This is strictly opinion and I have changed this in the past. Some weapons just take a little while to get used to. ******************************************************************************** Part 2.2 Upper Stance ******************************************************************************** Sword : Ookuronama Obtain : Work for Takatane. It is much easier this time around to upgrade your weapons and not want to shove a Samehadamaru down their throats... For starters... 1. You can only upgrade 5 past Maximum Quality. - i.e. 10/5 Quality is a completed weapon and cannot be improved further. 2. Maximum Quality cannot be increased. 3. Maximum upgrades are +15 Attack/+15 Defense for a total of +30. - Can be -15 Attack/-15 Defense as well for a total of -30. 4. Maximum upgrades are the same regardless of Quality. - i.e. You can get them at 1/5 Quality or 9/5 Quality, etc... 5. You can have Dojima try again at 500 Yen an attempt. Do not lke the result? - Have him try again. You can repeatedly do this until you run out of Yen. 6. Soft Reset for PS3 is holding Start and Select. - Out of Yen and do not like the result? Do this! Got it? Good. Now that you have your foundation lets move on! [[Frequently Asked Questions regarding Upgrading]] As usual, never upgrade solely Attack or Defense. Always choose Random! - Why? See Point 3 above you. As a general rule of thumb it is a good idea to accept upgrades that total +20 or so. - Why? If you want to reload for an hour or so for a few more points, feel free. +10/+10 is more than enough to notice a difference. Even on Hard. Okay, if you follow the simple advice here you will have some top tier weapons. This explains my StK. You want a sword with higher Maximum Quality for higher maximum totals. Combine that with some decent or higher end SPfA/SPfD and it can be devastating. Now to get more in depth with the cost... Each upgrade will cost you 500 Yen until you reach your Maximum Quality. - i.e. 5/5 At this point the upgrades become very expensinve and continue to increase. When Maximum Quality is reached - 2000 Yen to Upgrade When Maximum Quality is one above - 2500 Yen to upgrade When Maximum Quality is two above - 3000 Yen to upgrade When Maximum Quality is three above - 3500 Yen to upgrade When Maximum Quality is four above - 4000 Yen to upgrade Note: The option to "Try Again" remains 500 Yen! Remember this! ******************************************************************************** Part 3.4 Increase Success ******************************************************************************** I have noticed a difference in success rates. I do not believe this to be simply coincidence. Others have mentioned this as well. 1. The Dojima brothers are located in Omiki Town and Takatane Village. 2. Completing jobs for the brokers in Omiki and Takatane increase the disposition of the Dojima located in said area. 3. When you are making 600 Yen a job is a good time to start upgrading. It also gives you access to a higher end weapon. I have noticed this consistently. I believe his chance for higher totals is increased. Any comments on this? ******************************************************************************** Part 3.3 Titles ******************************************************************************** Very few unique titles for individual weapons. Listed with swords in Part 2 if they have a unique title. General Titles - All weapons can receive these titles! Title : Bloodthirsty Requirement: 1000 kills Effect : +100 Attack Title : Holy Requirement: Weapon Level 25 Effect : +100 Defense Title : Legendary Requirement: Maximum Quality Reached i.e. 10/5 Effect : +50 Attack +50 Defense Legendary is, in my opinion, the best possible title unless a weapon has a unique title. If it does... go with what suits your style best; this applies to all titles though. - Why? It is a balanced upgrade. Unless you have massive amounts of Health the bonus to Defense will be beneficial. It can also be obtained very early and at a low weapon Level. It also depends on how good you actually are, too. If you find yourself dying frequently Holy is for you! ******************************************************************************** Part 3.4 Weapon Creation ******************************************************************************** Parts - There are Parts required to create weapons. You need 4 parts to create a weapon. They can be found at various merchants and as well as drops from enemies. These determine everything about you created weapon: statistics, Weight, Quality, Skill Points and also how it looks. You can find some of the best parts at the Fabled Merchant. His stock is constantly changing but on a set pattern. They are very expensive and cost between 2000 and 4000 Yen. He also carries some great parts that you have to trade Golden Eggs for... - Red Cloud Jagged Blade - 4 Golden Eggs - Deity Free Long Blade - 6 Golden Eggs - Thorn Spear Blade - 8 Golden Eggs Enemies on Hard tend to drop very good Parts. Unique NPCs and those wielding unique weapons drop the absolute best. Otome is a good example of this. Anyone that wants to contribute a list gets due credit. I will not be posting a parts list unless someone wants to help me out. I don't have the time to visit merchants and record everything... Parts have set statistics that go into making said weapon. These are the statictics that will define your weapon. Note: Like weapons they have set parameters for each individual statistic. - Attack - Defense - Weight - Quality - Skill Points 1. Obviously you want higher Attack and Defense. 2. You want 0 to 1 Weight. Personally I find 1 Weight too heavy to be practical. - Weight adds up. Be cautious! 3. You want higher Quality. Some Parts add 2 or 3! 4. Skill Points... The more the better. Here is where the problems come in... - Most high Attack and Defense parts have higher Weight. - You have to decide if you can deal with the decrease in attack speed. - Pay attention or you could end up with a weapon that has a Weight of 8! - Higher Quality parts tend to have fewer skill points. - You need Skill Points to assign Moves. - There is only one reason to not care about Skill Points. Okay... you want higher Attack and Defense totals and a lower Weight. Now that you have a foundation lets move on. [[Frequently Asked Questions regarding Creation]] You absolutely need Skill Points! -Why? You use them to assign moves! You not only design the look and statistics of your weapon but also determine the moves! Awesome, right? You need to learn moves for the Stance you want to learn. So master the weapons you use! - Why? The moves you can select are moves you have learned for that Stance. It takes time but you can truly customize a weapon this way. So... You need more Skill Points! There is only one exception to Skill Points. It allows for some seriously vicious Creations... ******************************************************************************** Part 3.5 Weapon Creation for Dual Wielding ******************************************************************************** Dual Wielding... the one reason to not care about Skill Points. 1. It has a seperate move list that is not related to the swords you use. 2. It does not require Skill Points on your Creations. Interesting, huh? Dual Wielding is vicious and has a very powerful move list that is tied to your main character, much like Bare Hands. It has no relation to your current weapons as long as you can Dual Wield them. Now, think of all those amazing Parts you have seen that have amazing Attack, Defense and minimal Weight but lacked Skill Points... You use them to craft blades strictly for Dual Wielding. This is where you can make some seriously broken blades. The powerful move list, ability to not focus on maximizing Skill Points, and how powerful some of the low Skill Point parts are can make for some very interesting Creations... ******************************************************************************** Part 4 ******************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************** Part 4.1 Accessory List ******************************************************************************** Variand, thank you again. They serve many uses in addition to healing you completely. Here are a few ways to acquire them... 1. Reconcile the Dojima brothers. Very simple, choose the obvious answers when speaking with them. This will get you 2 Golden Eggs. 2. Defeat Sensei with a Blunt attack. This may only work the first time you defeat her. 3. Villagers will drop these from time to time. Various times you can kill them without penalty. i.e. 100 Man Battle, etc... 4. Each broker will drop one if you defeat them in sanctioned combat. After you reach the point where you are receiving 600 Yen per job you can stop working. Trigger Inklings until you receive the "Nobunaga" event. Speak with said broker. Complete mission. 5. Foster a relationship with Itsuse. She has a Giant stalker. Speak with him after she starts calling you by name. Defeat him with Blunt attacks and speak with him the next day. 6. Defeat Samurai Killer with Blunt attacks. Find him the next night and he will give you one. 7. You can buy them from Takatane for 6000 Yen each at certain points. Simple, right? Just do a couple each game and you will have a steady supply! ******************************************************************************** Copyright 2009 - Pang Tong ********************************************************************************
