Introduction ############################################################################## I have always been a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series. I was first introduced into this game by my cousins, and I immediately fell in love with the game, and one character in particular, Zhao Yun. He became my favorite character in almost every KOEI game. I own about every single Dynasty Warriors game there is, except for the original one, Dynasty Warriors(PS). This will be my first FAQ ever, so if I make a mistake, feel free to e-mail me and point it out so I can laugh at myself for being an idiot, and of course, fix it. Thank you. -Leon ############################################################################## 2. Zhao Yun ############################################################################## The following is taken from the Dynasty Warriors 6 Manual. A young warrior that knows not of deceit or cowardice. His bravery is such that he would single-handedly charge an entire enemy army if ordered to. He wields his spear in the name of justice. To find more information on Zhao Yun, I recommend going to www.kongming.net ############################################################################## 3. Changes to Zhao Yun ############################################################################## Dynasty Warriors 6 had a pretty big change from the usual, no longer is the square button going to have an end, in which case if 360 users are reading this, the attack button, because you will be attacking for eternity unless you stop pressing that button. Like someone before me, I will only state how this affects Zhao Yun. -Zhao Yun's move sets is completely change, as every single character too. -Zhao Yun now attacks on the right side when he is on a horse. -Zhao Yun has three types of weapons now, unfortunately, there is no 4th weapon in Dynasty Warriors 6. -Zhao Yun develops a friendship with another character now, which is Ma Chao. However he does not have a unique dialogue with Ma Chao. ############################################################################## 4. Weapons ############################################################################## The weapon system is no longer the same as the original Dynasty Warriors. Instead, there are now three types of weapons. There is standard(green), which has an average attack power and grants more reach when your Renbu Rank is higher. There is strength(red), which has an above average attack power and grants more power to your attackswhen your Renbu Rank is higher. Finally, there is Skill(blue), which has a below average attack power, and grants more speed in your attacks when your Renbu Rank is higher. Zhao Yun, like every character with a Musou mode, has three different types of weapons and each looks different than the other. They are... Dragon Spike(Green) Dragon Fang(Red) Dragon Talon(Blue) ############################################################################## 5. Skills ############################################################################## The skill tree has replaced the item system in the old Dynasty Warriors. I don't think I need to explain this part, as everyone probably knows how a skill tree works. On the skill tree, when completed, Zhao Yun receives the following boost. (NOTE: They will appear as circles and large circles on the skill tree.) -Life +90 -Musou +95 -Attack +100 -Defense +75 On the skill tree, when completed, Zhao Yun will have the following skills. (NOTE: They will appear as orange diamonds on the skill tree.) (2ND NOTE: I recommend going for the Renbu's first, because they will assist you the most during a battle.) -Third Renbu: Unlocks Renbu Rank 3. -Infinite Renbu: Unlocks the highest Renbu Rank. -Spirit: Musou increases faster. -Swift-foot: Movement speed increased. -Wardrums: Makes it easier to encourage your allies and increases its effect on them. -Bonus Special: Receive one Tome for every 300 KOs. -Adrenaline: Attack doubled when near death and knocked down (30 sec). -Recovery: Improves the effect of recovery items. -Pouch: Allows you to carry up to 2 Tomes and they will appear more frequently. On the skill tree, when completed, Zhao Yun will have the following specials. (NOTE: They will appear as green diamonds on the skill tree.) (2ND NOTE: These will only have use when you are using True Speed.) -Overawe: Reduces the defense of nearby enemies while using your special attack. -Leader's Aura: Using True Speed gives your allies the ability to dash and the resulting KOs are added to your KO count. -Stamina: Increases the duration of your special attack. -Rush: Inflicts heavy damage on weak enemies by touching them while using True Speed. ############################################################################## 6. Move Set ############################################################################## Zhao Yun's weapon is a spear and if you owned Dynasty Warriors 5 and watched the opening, you might notice that almost all of his attacks are from the opening, but enough of the crap, on to the guide. First, let's talk about the buttons. Square - Normal Attack Triangle - Charge Attack Circle - Musou X - Jump L1 - Block L2 - Tome R1 - Roll Now on to the move sets. -Renbu Rank 1 X - Swings to the left and then to the right quickly, and then raises weapon and does a horizontal slash, followed by a 360 turn and jabs twice and then repeats from the horizontal slash. Triangle - Uses the end of his spear to send the enemy in the air and then hops and does a quick vertical slash. Triangle(hold) - Does a 360 slash. -Renbu Rank 2 X - Repeats from the horizontal slash and then raises weapon to attack enemies with the middle of the spear, and does a 180 slash and ends with a powerful jab and then restarts with the two quick jabs. Triangle - Continuing from Renbu Rank 1, Zhao Yun smashes the ground with the tip of his spear sending a small shockwave which propels him into the air. -Renbu Rank 3 X - Repeats from the powerful jab, does four quick up and down slashes with the hilt and the tip of this spear and then ends with a quick jab, Zhao Yun no longer does the two quick jabs, instead swings to the left and then right now. Triangle - Continuing from Renbu Rank 2, when Zhao Yun is in the air, comes straight down and smashes the ground. -Infinite Renbu X - Repeating from the end of Renbu Rank 3, Zhao Yun does multiple stabs and then restarts all over from the two quick slashes. Triangle - Continuing from Renbu Rank 3, he does his victory stance and then sends a shockwave to nearby enemies damaging them. Triangle(hold) - Does the same 360 slash, but adds a shockwave. Dashing X - Does a quick horizontal slash. Triangle - Does about the coolest thing I have ever seen, Zhao Yun continually spins forward like a helicopter blade and when it ends, does a quick horizontal slash. Musou -Zhao Yun does attacks from Renbu Rank 3 if held, if not, then does very quick multiple spins with his spear on his back and then ends with a stance that sends shockwaves to nearby enemies. Deadlock -If you manage to defeat the enemy completely in the dead lock, then Zhao Yun will latch on to the enemy's neck with his feet and make him spin around while Zhao Yun continually attacks enemies when spinning, I wonder if you can even do that in real life. True Speed -Zhao Yun will proclaim, "I am the dragon!" and then will dash around slashing enemies in a quick motion. While you are dashing, if you do your charge attack at the end of the helicopter spin, instead of going a horizontal slash, Zhao Yun will instead stab his spear on the ground and propel himself up and come crashing down and smash the ground sending shockwaves. ############################################################################## 7. Costume/Stats ############################################################################## Zhao Yun had a costume change like everyone else, this time he wears a different kind of armor, because it is entirely silver, except for the scales which are blue. Also wears a headband and the most notable thing he wears, is his light blue scarf which is as long as he is. Zhao Yun, when he reaches Level 25, will automatically unlock his 2nd costume, which is just basically a color change. His, silver armor is now gold, and the scales are green now, also his scarf now changes to a regular blue. Zhao Yun's stats are probably what you can call average. I apologize for not putting Zhao Yun's default stats, because I forgot to record them when I started the game, however I do have his MAX stats. Zhao Yun Lvl.50 Life: 952 Musou: 962 Attack: 966 Defense: 951 ############################################################################## 8. Musou Mode ############################################################################## Zhao Yun serves under Gongsun Zan for the first stage, and then fights with Liu Bei for the remainder of his musou mode. Zhao Yun has 6 stages in his Musou Mode. I don't think I need to tell you how to beat each stage, since it is incredibly straightforward, you just seek and kill, but the only thing I will tell you is how to accomplish each Target, because some are incredibly easy, others are difficult. ############################################################################## 8a. Battle of Hu Lao Gate ############################################################################## Battle of Hu Lao Gate Allied Forces vs Dong Zhuo's Forces Time limit: 90'00"00 Conditions: Defeat Dong Zhuo. Defeat: Yuan Shao is defeated. Targets -Take Central Watchpost and Northeast Watchpost in 10 min.(300 exp) -Open Hu Lao North Gate or Hu Lao South Gate in 15 min.(500 exp) -Defeat Lu Bu.(1000 exp) You start in the South, so eliminate Li Jue and head east, eventually, Li Su will approach you, so take him out. So then whistle for your horse and head towards Central West Post and jump on your horse into the base to surprise them so when you kill each peon, they will drop EXP. After you conquer the base, head outside and eliminate Li Meng. Then head into Central Fort and you will most likely be in a duel with Li Ru, you can easily dispatch him. When you conquer Central Fort, head north and Gao Shun will be there waiting for you to kill him. Instead of heading into East Fort, head west into the Central Watchpost, and defeat 15 archers to conquer that base and you will complete 1/2 of Target 1, this should take about 5-6 minutes. After that, head for Central Post, and Zhang Liao would have most likely entered the base to defend it, you have to take out Zhang Liao quickly, or you could be in trouble of running out of time for Target 1, I recommend skipping Jia Xu, because since he is a Lt. General(under Zhang Liao), he will run once Zhang Liao is defeated, and you'll waste time chasing him, because Jia Xu will most likely not even be in the base when you're dealing with Zhang Liao. If Sun Jian is taking too long in the South, you'll be facing Fan Chou in East Fort too, but you can kill him quickly. After taking over East Fort, head towards Northeast Watchpost, and take it over, you will then have completed Target 1, you should have 81 or 80 minutes left. If you for some reason had a lot of time after taking over Central Watchpost, but failed to complete Target 1 in time, then that means you took too long with Zhang Liao! After you accomplished Target 1, take over Hu Lao Gate East Post very quickly, so that your allies by the time they reach Hu Lao Gate, they won't need to take over that base so the Engineers can begin their job quicker. Head to whichever gate you please, but I prefer the North, and kill every single Defense Captain you see there, after that, you have to play the waiting game, you must wait for the ladders to be set up, while you're waiting, you must defend them from enemy attacks, because each time it says in red that they secured the spot for building rams, you are wasting time! After waiting for the ladders to be set up, time to try the new Dynasty Warriors 6 skill, climbing up the ladders. After you climb up, immediately take out every Ballista you see, there will be 4 for each gate, so there are 8 altogether, but try and focus on destroying the ballista for your gate only, the reason why taking them out now is because they will destroy your rams if you leave the ballistas alone. After every ballista is gone, you should see some engineers building a ram, defend them with your life, because if they get attacked/destroyed, you are wasting time. I can't really give you an estimate on how much time you should have left, because it depends on how well you guarded the engineers. It takes 4 hits I think for the Ram to destroy Hu Lao Gate. After that, it'll be opened and Target 2 will be complete. After that.. the Flying General will appear with his own cutscene. If you have no idea who the Flying General is, it's Lu Bu. Okay, here is something I recommend to you. Use the Interim Save if you want to fight Lu Bu, because once Lu Bu attacks you, you will be dead. In other words, you must have a perfect victory against him. His jump charge move is deadly, if you are blocking, he will break your guard, if you are at 75% hp, you will be dead. If he uses the jump charge, just jump to avoid the hit. If he swings, jump or block. If he starts charging up, use your Musou so you can get out of being hit. If you are really looking to fight him, just be warn, if you are hit once from him, you are a goner. Just spam Charge attacks on him, with a slight delay so when he hits the ground, just wait till he gets back up and spam it on him again. If he blocks the attack, roll or jump. With some time and luck, you will defeat the Flying General. After that, you should have absolutely no trouble in defeating Dong Zhuo, and end the stage. ############################################################################## 8b. Battle of Chang Ban ############################################################################## Battle of Chang Ban Liu Bei's Forces vs Cao Cao's Forces Time Limit: 90'00"00 Condition: Liu Bei and the refugees reach the docks. Defeat: Liu Bei or the refugees are wiped out. Targets -Score 300 or more KOs.(300 exp) -At least 2 groups of refugees reach the docks.(300 exp) -All refugees reach the docks.(500 exp) Wow, this mission...I can't stress about how hard accomplishing the last target is. First you start off in the top right, first if you want any chance of accomplishing the last one, you need to have your fastest horse and the strongest weapon you can get your hands on. I don't need to tell you how to do Target 1, because that is the easiest Target you can ever get. To start this mission off, remember what I told you, get the fastest horse and the strongest weapon you can get. First in your starting position, turn around and take over North Fort, then quickly race to Jia Xu, who should be with one of the refugees, the reason why you should take over North Fort is so that when the reinforcements that come in later, the North Fort will keep them busy, buying you time. You don't need to worry about Zhang He yet. NOTE: You MUST approach the refugees and hear them say, "Lord Liu Bei! Take us with you!", or else they will just stay at their starting location. After you rescue the refugees Jia Xu is attacking, ignore every single troop, just go after the general. Race towards Xun Yu now and hurry and defeat him as quickly as you can and approach the refugee he was attacking. Then, there should be a brawl between Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Zhang He, Xiahou Ba, and others. Save when you see Liu Bei, and then defeat Zhang He only, after he is defeated, race to East Post as QUICKLY as you can, it should fall by the time you reach Central Camp. I think it was Yue Jin who was attacking the refugees at East Post. Defeat him only and immediately race towards Han Hao, who should have been approaching refugees when you saw Liu Bei again. Defeat him immediately because the refugees could be near death, and after you rescue the refugees, run towards Central Camp, and conquer that base. Then Liu Bei should be in trouble about now, so save him. Reinforcements should have arrived in the Northeast, but thanks to taking over the North Fort, they will be busy trying to take control of the Fort. After that, you are in the home stretch. By the way, if the refugees with Jian Yong are routed before you save the refugees that are being attacked by Xun Yu, just restart the round, because it's only a rare occurence that actually happens. After when they cross the bridge, just keep clearing a path, by the way, you have to take the long way to the docks, and that is through Zhu Ling. Defeat Zhu Ling and continue down the path, and by then, Xiahou Dun will arrive with a lot of enemies, this will help you accomplish Target 1. Just defeat them all and quickly take over South Fort. Then just keep guiding the refugees to the docks and eventually by the time you reach South Second Post, Mengde will be here, AKA Cao Cao. Just take over the South Second Post and make a stand, and the refugees and Liu Bei will reach the docks, and the battle will be over and you will complete Target 2 and 3. Speed and luck are the only thing essential to completing both Target 2 and 3. ############################################################################## 8c. Pacification of Cheng Du ############################################################################## Pacification of Cheng Du Liu Bei's Forces vs Liu Zhang's Forces Time Limit: 90'00"00 Conditions: Defeat Liu Zhang. Defeat: Liu Bei is defeated. Targets -Take Fujiang North Watchpost and Fujiang South Watchpost in 10 min.(300 exp) -Take Third Gate, Second Gate, First Gate in 10 min.(300 exp) -Pang Tong does not withdraw.(300 exp) This one will be a bit crazy. First, because of your starting location, I will give you instructions on how to complete Target 3. First take over Fu Castle West Post. Then head across the river and Li Yan should ambush you, just kill him. You don't need to take Mian Zhu Fort, just keep tailing Pang Tong, until he reaches Valley of the Fallen Phoenix where there will be a cutscene. Then immediately take out Zhang Ren and soon Yang Huai will be behind you, defeat him quickly and Pang Tong will be safe for now. Now immediately head up the valley and take the many bridges to find yourself in Luo West Watchpost, I recommend skipping this because you will only have 5-6 minutes to complete Target 1 and 2. Zhuge Liang should be in trouble about now, and Liu Bei should already have captured the First Gate, so head to the Second Gate, and take control of it, don't worry Zhuge Liang has Sun Shang Xiang with him so he won't be defeated so soon, and Liu Bei's morale should be high enough to overpower Fei Guan, who should be attacking him. Wei Yan should be trying to gain control of Fujiang East Watchpost, so you don't need to worry about that one for now. Instead after gaining control of Second Gate, rush to the Third Gate and conquer it quickly. You should still have lots of time to spare. Gao Pei should appear and will be guarding the Third Gate. By the time you take control of the Third Gate, Wei Yan should have taken the base by now and Wu Lan should appear by now to attack Liu Bei. Don't worry about this for now and head towards Fujiang East Post and leap off the cliff and you should land in the waters, and then head to Fujiang North Watchpost and then you will have completed Target 1 and 2. After that, do as you please, but be sure to keep an eye for Pang Tong, when he says he is in trouble, assist him immediately. One more warning, when Ma Chao comes, your best buddy, be very sure to save the game where you fight him, because he is beefed up in this battle, and will shred you to pieces if you aren't careful. ############################################################################## 8d. Battle of Mt. Ding Jun ############################################################################## Battle of Mt. Ding Jun Shu Forces vs Wei Forces Time limit: 90'00"00 Conditions: Defeat Cao Cao. Defeat: Liu Bei withdraws. Targets -Defeat Xiahou Yuan and Huang Zhong survives.(300 exp) -Take Mt. Cha Qi and Mt. Ding Jun in 15 min.(300 exp) -None of your units withdraw.(700 exp) Okay you are going to have to be quick for this battle. So get ready for some fun. All of the objectives are easy, except for Target 3, where none of your units withdraw. First run south and take control of Ding Jun East Post. Then defeat Xu Huang, Xiahou De, and Wang Shuang, but try and stay above 50% health because those aren't the only ones you'll be fighting, then defeat Yue Jin and Xiahou Shang, but those two are completely optional since they'll just try and take your base, and your allies can probably repel them, but you can defeat them to be on the safe side. Fa Zheng should be in trouble by now, so rush towards Cha Qi, do not try and take Ding Jun now, because if you do so, your allies will most likely follow you to Ding Jun, and when you want to take Ding Jun and then run to Cha Qi, your allies will be fighting Cao Cao, and they will be easily overwhelmed. Plus if you defeat Cao Cao, the round ends and you will not complete Target 2. After running towards Cha Qi, kill all the weaklings and you will be in Mt. Cha Qi's Camp in no time, capture it and Zhuge Liang will place Huang Zhong in control of protecting Cha Qi, for now you don't need to worry, now just descend Cha Qi and Xiahou Yuan will charge out now to take Cha Qi, don't worry, just intercept him and get ready for a brawl, because Xiahou Yuan will be powered up, and don't forget to save because he can easily shred you to pieces if you are low on HP. You should still have plenty of time to spare, but don't underestimate Xiahou Yuan now, because if you fought Ma Chao in the previous stage, he is about stronger than Ma Chao is. After dispatching Xiahou Yuan, focus all your attention on Mt. Ding Jun now, with Xiahou Yuan no longer guarding it, it should be easy picking now. I believe you can take it from here, just make sure you are quick in taking it. There is a chance that Cao Cao will challenge you to a duel on top of Ding Jun, I recommend running, because you'll be facing another powered up general. By the way, if you defeat Xiahou Yuan, he will be unlocked. ############################################################################## 8e. Battle of Yi Ling ############################################################################## Battle of Yi Ling Shu Forces vs Wu Forces Time limit: 90'00"00 Conditions: Defeat Sun Quan. Defeat: Liu Bei withdraws. Targets -At least 6 of your units survive for 10 mins.(300 exp) -The Stone Sentinel Maze does not fall to enemy forces.(300 exp) -Defeat all enemy units in 20 mins.(500 exp) Okay, this battle is really hard. Mainly because you will be struggling to keep Liu Bei and yourself alive after the fire attack. Head south and defeat Zhu Huan, and take East Watchpost while you're at it. Then jump down and take East Post and defeat the two traitors, Mi Fang and Fu Shi Ren. When you've eliminated them, hurry south to Southeast post and defeat Ma Zhong, try and accomplish this before Wu begins the fire attack. After that, immediately, run back to East Watchpost and wait for the fire attack, you should suffer some damage from the fire attack, defeat the cause, which is Zhu Ran, who should be at East Watchpost. Then rush to rescue Chen Zhen and Ma Su, just defeat Han Dang and Jiang Qin, and they'll be fine. Then immediately defeat Gan Ning, who will be powered up. If you are not quick enough, then Gan Ning will kill Liu Bei and the battle will be over with a Wu victory. Zhuge Liang should arrive by now with reinforcements and every officer will be heading into the Stone Sentinel Maze, Wang Ping will most likely perish in battle, Guan Suo might die too, but don't worry, because 10 minutes will be up soon. After that, head into the Stone Sentinel Maze, and keep guard, defeat any Wu generals that enter, and most importantly, Lu Xun, he tends to be the fastest Wu that defeats the Stone Sentinel Maze. After defending it for a while, Ma Chao should arrive with reinforcements and Shu will initiate a counter attack. From there on, just rush and defeat all Wu generals, by the way, if you defeat all Wu generals now, Zhou Tai will be unlocked, but he is a clone of Xiahou Yuan. Eventually, you'll find yourself face to face with Sun Quan, just defeat him and end all affairs with Wu. You will have then completed Target 2 and 3. ############################################################################## 8f. Battle of Han Zhong ############################################################################## Battle of Han Zhong Shu Forces vs Wei Forces Time Limit: 90'00"00 Conditions: Defeat Cao Cao. Defeat: Liu Bei withdraws. Targets -Take West Fort and Northeast Fort in 15 min.(400 exp) -Defeat Sima Yi, Zhang He, and Cao Pi in 15 min.(400 exp) -Defeat all enemy units in 30 min.(500 exp) I don't like this battle, because it's so big and so many ambushes forcing you to run around the map to kill new enemies. From your starting location, just head north and take Northeast Post. From there, continue on to East Watchpost and defeat Cao Hong. I forgot to mention, Zhang He along with other generals will soon appear and jump from the cliffs to attack Liu Bei, after gaining control of East Watchpost, head west to dispatch Sun Li, and head south to rescue Liu Bei and defeat Zhang He, after that, head back to the same direction to meet Yue Ying, she will most likely be fighting Zhen Ji and Cao Pi, and also most likely...getting owned. When you meet up with her, you will probably be in a duel to fight Cao Pi and Zhen Ji, REALLY hard, so I suggest saving first. After that, I think it was Guan Suo, who gets trapped in the middle, but you don't need to rescue him, you can let him die. There will be enemy troops approaching in the northeast, so take them out. Guan Suo most likely would have taken West Fort before getting trapped, so Target 1 should already be accomplished. You should only have Sima Yi to deal with, so just keep killing Wei generals. Eventually you will find yourself outside of Han Zhong Castle, where the remaining Wei units remain. Just storm the castle and make sure you defeat all generals, especially Sima Yi before you move on to defeat Cao Cao. After Cao Cao is defeated, it will all be over. ############################################################################## 9. FAQ ############################################################################## Q. Are there 4th weapons? A. Nope they have been cut. Q. Is Zhao Yun a clone? A. Nah, Zhao Yun is a unique character. Q. Will you make more Character FAQ? A. I probably will make one on Liu Bei, Cao Pi, Zhou Yu, Sima Yi, and Gan Ning probably, assuming this one gets accepted and no one else makes a FAQ on any of them. Q. This FAQ seems rushed. A. Not really, just some stages are straight-forward, so I don't need to go into complete details. Q. Why is Xiao Qiao in it and not Da Qiao? A. How am I suppose to know? I hated both of the sisters so I wouldn't care. Q. Do you have PSN? A. Indeed I do, it's Leonmyster. Q. Why 'myster'? A. I like it, it sounds cool. ############################################################################## 10.
