I can't believe that it is already my sixth, it seems like I just started writing yesterday. Anywho this is my first In-Depth FAQ aswell as my fist Achievement Guide, and it happens to be for the spectacular game Left 4 Dead. Hope it helps everyone! If any errors are found email it to me at acowwithads[at]gmail[dot]com. Same goes for anybody who wants to add a tip to the guide themselves. Just remember if you want to be mentioned under credits you must give me a name to put in the guide, or you will be stated as anonymous. Also, some call each campaigns "movies". That is what I usually call them, so I put this up here to make sure there is no confusion. __ __ _ _ _ _ _ \ \ / /__ _ __ ___(_) ___ _ __ | | | (_)___| |_ ___ _ __ _ _ \ \ / / _ \ '__/ __| |/ _ \| '_ \ | |_| | / __| __/ _ \| '__| | | | \ V / __/ | \__ \ | (_) | | | | | _ | \__ \ || (_) | | | |_| | \_/ \___|_| |___/_|\___/|_| |_| |_| |_|_|___/\__\___/|_| \__, | |___/ 1/5/09 - Fixed spacing problem, added some tips(this section), the credits, and fixed some grammar errors. 1/19/09- Fixed alittle grammar, added some tips of my own aswell as others, aswell as added a short FAQ. 1/28/09- Tons of new tips 1/29/09- Added dashboard glitch to the FAQ 7/29/09- Updated FAQ. Tips: A survivor is incapitated when they are on the ground holding only a pistol. To revive them and count towards the achievement, hold down X until they are fully picked up. Sometimes infected can reset the healing process and hunters and smokers can grab and stop you from healing. Remember that you ARE NOT invincible when reviving an incapitated! ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Field Medic(20G) Heal 25 survivors with a first aid kit Tips: First aid kits are found in every saferoom, and if you are lucky once or twice throughout certain levels. They are also found at the end of each movie where you are being rescued. To heal a survivor other then yourself, go up to them and hold down LT. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Pharm-assist(20G) Give pain pills to 10 survivors Tips: Pain pills are commonly found on about every level. From my experience, you can not keep giving the same pin pills to the same survivor. Switch it up throughout each of your missions. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= My Bodyguard(15G) Protect any survivor from an attacking infected 50 times Tips: Getting a "protection" is pretty easy. Especially during a horde. When the infected is surrounding a teammate and you shoot some off for them, you will get a "protection". Same works if you shoot off an infected that is attacking a survivor from behind. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Dead Stop(10G) Punch a hunter as he is pouncing Tips: The more experienced players will be doing this every mission. When a hunter jumps at you, swing at him to knock him away using LT or "melee". This is very helpful, even when you already have the achievement. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Cr0wned(30G) Kill a witch with a single headshot Tips: This is a very easy but intimadating achievement. You will need to find one of the auto-shotguns for this. Sneak up behind a witch while she is crying (this is when she is sitting down, not standing) and shoot her in the back of the head or lower neck. It should one shot her no matter the difficulty, however I would go with easy just in case. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Loathgar/ Something to add the the Crowned achievement: I was able to one hit head shot the Witch by using the mounted MG. Whether this was pure luck or happens all the time I'm not entirely sure. It was the 1st MG during No Mercy. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Untouchables(30G) No survivors take damage after contacting the rescue vehicle Tips: You contact the rescue vehicle at the last mission in each movie. This will be VERY hard. I would recommend doing this achievement on Death Toll. When you call in the rescue go to the back where the dock is and jump onto those rocks in the corner. It troubles zombies to get up there. Also, do this with user controlled survivors so everyone co-operates and stays up there. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /TheZengar/ For the Untouchables achievement there is a glitch so you can be hit by the zombies and still get the achievement and you do this by having one person in game attempt to contact the rescue vehicle and they will say it will take some time prepare yourself and contact us again at this time send an invite to one of your friends who needs thh achievement and when your friend accepts and it says loading No Mercy contact the rescue vehical for the second time which initiate the hordes attack and the person who was invited to the game will get the achievement but not the player who started the game, also I only am aware of this working on No Mercy it may work on the others but again I am un aware of that. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Anonymous/ Greetings. I was just wondering how could I get this achievement solo since it sounded difficult enough to even get it on the easiest difficulty due to unexpected circumstances regarding my AI controlled companions. I then remembered that one of your best allies against the infected is distance. If you manage to keep them as far away from you as possible you have plenty of chance to bring them down before they even get a chance to get close to you. Also, another good ally is a wide open space, since this lets you spot the infected far more easy than when you are indoors. I found this perfect combination during the Dead Air campaign. Right behind the plane that will serve as the eventual escape for all the survivors is an area with higher ground that gives an enormous amount of space between you and any enemies coming at you. From there you can just shoot at them and bring them down at a faster rate without even worrying of getting a scratch. The AI controlled survivors will also be there with you, so you don't have to worry about them wandering about the place. Your only real possible concern could be any Smoker that shows up, but then again, distance will let you kill them more easily. Tanks are also easier to deafeat because the wide open area won't let them corner you as easy as they could. Hope this helps! /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Drag and Drop(20G) Rescue a survivor from a Smoker's tongue before he takes damage Tips: Stay with your teammates, and when one gets caught by a smoker melee them with LT. This releases them from the smoker's tongue. You can also shoot the smoker before he wraps up the survivor. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Blind Luck(20G) You or another survivor take no damage after being vomitted on by a Boomer Tips: When you are vomitted on by a Boomer a horde of zombies will rush you. Stay in a corner and melee them off and have your team shoot them before you take damage to unlock this achievement. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Akimbo Assassin(30G) Survive an entire campaign using only pistols. Tips: I don't suggest picking up any new weapons including dual pistols because that may disable the achievement. Also try to not pick up any explosives or light any gas cans as that may disable the achievement. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /BreakfastKing/ I was reading your bit about the Akimbo Assassin achievement and you said that picking up a second pistol may be cause for failure. I just got the achievement last night after much trial and error with a friend, and determined that picking up another pistol does not disable the achievement, nor does using med packs or pills. However, using (and presumably just picking up) other weapons or explosives will be ruin any chances for success. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /jay427/ Dual pistols are okay. I even picked up a propane tank by accident and then threw it and still got it. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /oogieboogiefan1/ Akimbo Assassin can be achieved with dual pistols and the use of explosives. Did this on my account and my buddies, using both of those mentioned. Also, on my buddies name, I got akimbo even though I died while jumping into the heli, yet I did the same on my name and didn't. I believe it was because I did his name on Campaign, and my name on Single Player. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Hero Closet(10G) Rescue a Survivor trapped in a closet. Tips: When a survivor dies, you may be able to find them in a closet somewhere on the map. They will appear as a yellow outline on the screen. Walk up to the closet door and press X to open the door, rescue the survivor, and gain this achievement. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Hunter Punter(10G) Shove a Hunter off of a pinned and helpless Survivor. Tips: When a hunter punces on a survivor, instead of shooting him off press LT on him. This will melee him off, then shoot and kill him. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Tongue Twister(20G) Free yourself from a Smoker who has grabbed you with his tongue. Tips: As soon as you get grabbed by a smoker, you can shoot for the first few feet. Shoot and kill him as you get grabbed and pulled in to unlock this. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= No Smoking Section(15G) Kill 10 Smokers as they are pulling helpless Survivors. Tips: Save ten survivors by shooting or meleeing the smoker that has grabbed them. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= 101 Cremations(20G) Set 101 Infected on fire. Tips: To set a infected on fire, use either a molotav cocktail by picking it up, switching to it with the dpad, and throw it where a zombie horde is coming from, or by lighting the red gas cans on fire by shooting them. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Do Not Disturb(20G) Sneak past all Witches in a campaign without disturbing one. Tips: To sneak by witches, turn off your light and crouch by them. Sometimes you will have no need to go into a room with a witch, and at the same time you may have to go by a witch. If worse comes to worse try and crown the witch(one shot) before they get startled. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Man vs Tank(30G) Single-handedly kill a Tank. Tips: You must do all the damage to the tank. I suggest using a molotav to light him on fire and then run, or using an Assault Rifle. Ypur teammates can not help bring him down. Tanks are found on almost every movie on each level. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Tankbusters(20G) Kill a Tank without it dealing any damage to a Survivor. Tips: Use a molotav and have all the survivors run, or play on easy and have everybody unload on them. Stay clear from him so he can't swing and hit you, but at the same time watch out for him throwing parts of the floor. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Safety First(30G) Play an entire campaign with no Survivors taking friendly fire damage. Tips: This involves much luck. I would suggest playing with the AI, as they almost never cause friendly fire damage. It is then up to you not to cause any friendly fire damage to them. I suggest not shooting often, or atleast not when the AI is infront of you. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Dranaxscas/ Safety First is a bit more than luck. And uh, bots WILL shoot you. The second to last "safety first" run I had, Francis ended up shooting me during the finale, killing the requirements for the achievement. No Mercy on Easy, bypass the apartments, run through and shoot while the bots are not behind you, try not to shoot the tank (you may fire a stray bullet into a teammate, I did this a lot), etc. Just run from the tanks and let the bots deal with them. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= No-one Left Behind(20G) Beat a campaign with all 4 Survivors. Tips: To unlock this, finish one movie with everyone escaping in the rescue vehicle. Playing on easy.... is well the easiest to do this on. Also will get this while doing Untouchables. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Unbreakable(30G) Finish a campaign without ever being healed. Tips: Unless you are a very experienced players, try to do this on easy. Pain pills and medi-kits count. I am not sure if getting picked up when incappitated counts, but if you die and are rescued you can still get this achievement. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Janiln/ You can use pain pills and die and be revived and still get Unbreakable. I did both and still got the achievement just last night. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /R0r5ch4ch/ In the "Unbreakable" Achievement, you can stop the healing from someone in game. If a CPU comes up to you and tries to heal you, just pull out a health pack of pain pills, and he will stop healing you, expecting you to do it yourself. This Saved my ass plenty of times trying to get this achievement, and is very helpful. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /BOSSgrindle/ I noticed that while I was Idle in an online game, I had taken 0 damage when the group got into the safe room after I had returned, yet my health was missing quite a chunk. So I thought to myself "Maybe it doesn't count for whatever the AI does for me" so whenever I was about to get healed, I would go Idle and let the person heal me, then return to the game when the healing is done. Managed to get a friend get the achievement at the same time I got the achievement. Anyway, I kept going idle and letting my character (Francis most of the time) get healed and returning until the Campaign was done. But it MUST be done with 2 or more people in an Online Game. That surprised me that it actually worked, though. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Anonymous/ I did the Unbreakable achievement by using pain pills, dying and being revived via closet or incap, and I was able to pick up a med kit, go idle, have my character heal themselves, then come back from idle. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Witch Hunter(20G) Kill a Witch without any Survivor taking damage from her. Tips: You will get this while doing Cr0wned, but if you haven't yet play on easy and have the team shoot at her from a distance. Try and kill her before she reaches anyone, as she kills one shot. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Red Mist(20G) Kill 1000 Infected with a mounted machine gun. Tips: Mounted machine guns are very strong, and can be found at the end of just about every campaign. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /StarWolfff/ There is no turret at the end of Blood Harvest and there is one in the middle of No Mercy. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /DreadChaosLord/ For Red Mist, there are 2 mounted guns in No Mercy, 2 in Death Toll, 1 in Dead Air and 0 in Blood Harvest /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Dranaxscas/ For Red Mist, I'd recommend playing the No Mercy (or Death Toll) finale over and over. Grab a pipe bomb, run through, call the chopper, and run up to the gun. Throw the pipe bomb as the horde comes, and start mowing them down with the gun while they run to the pipe bomb. Things get a lot easier if the AI Director is kind enough to give you another 4-8 pipes on the nearby buildings. (I got around 100 kills on the gun per run, to give you an idea of time needed) /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Pyrotechnician(20G) Blow up 20 Infected in a single explosion. Tips: Pipe bombs attract the infected. When you spot a very big horde, throw a pipe bomb and don't shoot the infected. They should all run over to it and blow up. If there was twenty or more infected in that horde this achievement will unlock. Very easy on the last chapter of any campaign. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Zombie Genocidest(20G) Kill 53,595 Infected. Tips: Just keep playing through each campaign and rack up those kills! Play with any weapon is most comfortable for you. I will need someone to confirm that this can be achieved in versus. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /soulgenesis/ Any kills you get in the game count for genocidest. Even in versus. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Dead Giveaway(10G) Heal a fellow Survivor when your own health is below 10. Tips: Have a teammate incapitate you, then pick you up. Wait until your health drains below ten, then use your medikit to heal that teamate. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Stand Tall(20G) Survive a campaign without being incapacitated. Tips: Whenever your health is starting to get low, heal. Stick with your team aswell, but at the same time watch out for hunters and smokers. This is best done on easy. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Zombicidal Maniac(30G) Survive any campaign on Expert. Tips: This is pretty hard. Try not to get hit by anything, including your teammates. This will take away 10-20 HP each time. Try to stay away from hordes, withches, boomers, and any other special infected. When getting attacked by a horde jump into a corner and whack everybody off of you. Oh and TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK! Also you have to escape on the rescue vehicle. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= What Are You Trying to Prove?(35G) Survive all campaigns on Expert. Tips: See "Zombicidal Maniac." Also: /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /HaD0UkEnN/ - Let me explain this to you again. Like i said: "Just beat it in one sitting to get the 1/4 for what are you trying to prove. It doesnt matter if you dont make it to the rescue vehicle you will still get it. For zombicidal maniac, you need to make it in the rescue vehicle. You need to play the game in one sitting for both of these." "WAYTP only requires one player get on the rescue vehicle, everyone else can be dead " - This is true. As i said, you have to beat the game in one sitting for WAYTP but only one person needs to make it to the rescue vehicle. When i said, "it doesnt matter if you dont make it to the rescue vehicle," i meant that its not necessary that you make it to the vehicle, only one person needs to, that is how you "beat" the campaign. "If you do the Dashboard glitch, no. Just one person has to make it evac for everyone to get it." - This is not so clear. What he is trying to say is, if you are to use the "dashboard glitch" then you do not need to start the campaign from the beginning. You can start from the finale and one person needs to host the game while the others are invited from the lobby. The person hosting will not be able to get the achivement. "Normally, however, you have to either be in the evac vehicle or incapacitated when it leaves." - If you are trying to get the WAYTP achievement then it doesnt matter if you died during the finale, only one person needs to make it to the vehicle. If you are trying to get Zombicidal Maniac, then it is necessary that you either have escaped in the rescue vehicle, or are incapped and still alive until the credits start to roll. I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions including the one discussed on this post, feel free to ask me. :) /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /ChaosBlades/ Some tips and hints about each finale to help. On the No Mercy finale, if you're with 4 human players, sit in the stairs in the supply room when you call the horde. Two people should watch the top door and two people should watch the bottom door. Watch out for special infected and clear out the hordes. When the tank spawns, pick up some ammo and not the hunting rifle. Be wary of rocks (you can shoot them out of the sky and they will do nothing to you). Take out the tank like you would normally and head back into the stairs. After the same thing, fight the 2nd tank. As soon as you kill the 2nd tank, head towards the helipad. Have someone carry a pipe bomb and throw it to distract the zombies. Watch out for special infected and hop in the helicopter. Death Toll: There is a rock all the way away from the dock that will save you a lot of trouble. Most of the zombies will get stuck and your only worries will be the straggling ones that manage to climb the rock and the hunters and smokers that try to get you. The tank will spawn after you kill about 2-3 of each. Do NOT shoot the tank. It will despawn. The 2nd horde will come, with more hunters and smokers trying to get you. The 2nd tank will spawn (and in my experience, it does not despawn, but will be stuck in some trees in the general direction of the shack). Shoot it while shooting the rocks out of the skies. As soon as you see it fall, sprint towards the dock, throwing your pipe bomb somewhere. Watch for special infected and get on board. Dead Air: Arguably the easiest finale. Turret glitch (look it up on YouTube if you don't know what it is) and jump onto the rescue plane. Stand in the middle of the plane and sit there. Occasionally a smoker will try and drag you. The tank will despawn. The 2nd horde will come. Beware of the occasional hunter that may get to you. The 2nd tank may or may not despawn by the time the rescue plane starts up. Throw pipe bombs and fall out of the back of the plane. Note that you will drop through before you actually reach the visual end of the plane. Be prepared and run in. Blood Harvest: Arguably the hardest one because there is no exploit. My strategy is to stand in the top floor of the barn with people on the corners and watching the entrances. Smokers and hunters will try to be sneaky, but you should hear them coming. When you hear tank music, look out to see where it's coming from. There is a very convenient ammo cache up there so feel free to use it when you have time. Run from the tank and shoot it, using someone as a distraction as the rest of the team unloads on it. When you kill the 1st tank, you have one of two choices. If you are near the barn, return there. If you are not, run into the house and up the stairs. Open the first door on your right (the bathroom) and position yourselves so you can see the door but so that you won't shoot each other. When you hear the tank music again, run out to kill it again in the same method. Now, as soon as you kill the tank, sprint to the barn. Head up to the 2nd floor and stare out the exit that stares into the house. The vehicle will literally stop in front of you. throw a pipe bomb, watch out for special infected, drop down, and claim victory. This is a very difficult achievement to get. It takes either very good skill and use of exploits and shortcuts or a very skilled team that knows exactly what they're doing. And a lot of communication. hope that helps in your achievement hunting ~Chaos~ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Nothing Special(30G) Survive a campaign with no Survivors taking damage from Special Infected. Tips: You will have to stick together with the rest of the survivors for this. As soon as someone is getting attacked by a special infected, save them. They do damage pretty quick so be on your toes! ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Burn the Witch(10G) Light a Witch with a Molotov. Tips: Very simple, and useful in a way. When you see a witch crying on the ground throw a molotov at her to light her on fire. She doesn't move until you startle her so it is hard to miss. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Towering Inferno(10G) Light a Tank with a Molotov. Tips: Again, very simple. If you simply can not get the throw down, run through a one way hall and throw a molotov behind you while the tank is chasing, and he should run into it. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Spinal Tap(10G) Kill an Infected with a single blow from behind. Tips: Sneak up behind any infected and melee towards the back of the head to get the one hit from behind. Fatality! ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Stomach Upset(20G) All Survivors complete a campaign without being vomited on. Tips: This is very hard. Once again you will need to stay with your survivors and listen carefully for Boomers. Once they get close melee them back before they puke on you, then shoot them. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Dranaxscas/ Stomach Upset is not that hard to get. Play with bots (and maybe 1 other player.. I did mine with 2 bots) on No Mercy on Easy. Run through, listen for boomers, play with full captions on, and melee them back when you see them. They usually take a while to boom while on easy, which is why it's recommended besides the obvious damage decrease advantage. Be cautious during the finale - if you hear a boomer, I'd suggest looking for it before it booms you when you're off guard. The finale was the most stressful part of the achievement for me personally. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Brain Salad(15G) Make 100 headshot kills. Tips: You should get this as you progress through the game, but if you must I suggest using the SMG and spraying towards the heads of a horde. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Jump Shot(20G) Headshot a Hunter while he's leaping. Tips: As the hunter is jumping at you, spray at his face and hope you get the headshot. This involves a lot of luck. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Mercy Killer(15G) Survive the No Mercy campaign. Tips: Best on Easy. Survive throughout the whole movie by escaping on the rescue vehicle at the end. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Back 2 Help (20G) Leave a safe room to save an incapped teammate and bring them back safely. Tips: Have a survivor stand a few feet out of the safe room, then down him while in the safe room. Go out to save him, then complete the mission. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Toll Collector(15G) Survive the Death Toll campaign. Tips: See "Mercy Killer". ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Dead Baron(15G) Survive the Dead Air campaign. Tips: See "Mercy Killer". ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Grim Reaper(15G) Survive the Blood Harvest campaign. Tips: See "Mercy Killer". ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Ground Cover (30G) Save another Survivor from a Special Infected while on the ground Tips: When you are incapitated, you have to shoot a hunter off another survivor or shoot a smoker off another survivor. This is easy if someone reviving you gets jumped by a hunter. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Clean Kill(10G) Shove a Boomer and then kill him without him splashing on anyone. Tips: Pretty simple. If you see a Boomer, quickly push him away using LT then shoot him before he pukes or blows up on anyone. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Big Drag(20G) Drag a Survivor 100 feet with your tongue. Tips: This is a versus achievement. When you are picked to play as a smoker, try and catch a survivor that strayed off. Get as far as you can while still being able to grab him, then drag him in with your tongue. Easiest on No Mercy or Blood Harvest CHAPTER 1. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Chain Smoker(20G) Constrict two Survivors in one life as a Smoker. Tips: Another versus achievement. When playing as a smoker, constrict a survivor and when his teammate comes to save him and he breaks free run. Once you can grab him or another survivor again, do so. I recommend Blood Harvest on the first chapter, right in the beginning. Stay hidden in the trees and pull the person in. When his teammate comes to help him and melees him off, run away. Wait for your tongue to recharge then grab someone off. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Barf Bagged(20G) Cover four Survivors with Boomer bile at once. Tips: Once again only obtainable in versus. The best level to do this is the fourth mission on the No Mercy level. When everyone is waiting for the elevator, try and sneak up and spray them all. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Double Jump(20G) Pounce two different Survivors in one life as a Hunter. Tips: Jump onto a survivor and hope someone punches you off. If you get shot off, you die so if you get punched off you have time to regroup and jump on someone else. To punce, crouch using LB then jump with RT. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= All 4 Dead(30G) Kill all four Survivors in one life while playing as a Tank. Tips: Versus only. Tanks are randomly selected. If you happen to be the tank, try and focus in on one person at a time. Need conformation if throwing people off the map on No Mercy counts as a kill. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Super Glitch/ ...if you were to incap a person as the Tank, then any random Horde Infected kills him, it will count towards your kill. If another Special Infected attacks them, it will become their kill. Also, if any Boomer vomits on them, it will counts as their kill. You only have to down them as long as only the horde attacks them. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /crazysteave/ but i wanted to tell you a tip on the achievement "all 4 dead", the easiest way to do this does involve luck but if you can become the tank on the first level of no mercy, when the survivors are coming out of the apartments in the beginning, if you hit one of the cars and hit a survivor it is an instant incap unless it lands on them, then itll be an instant kill. It is possible to hit all four and just watch them get hopelessly picked off by your friends =) p.s. you can do this with any level with cars but i find this easiest because its very narrow and not much room for them to run away from your rolling heap of scrap metal. =D /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Dranaxscas/ All 4 Dead is very easily achieved in No Mercy 1 if you happen to spawn as the tank while they're still in the alley. Use the cars and try to weed them out if they run into a building, and go for the ones in red or yellow first. You run slower than those in green, and if you lay back for a while, those in green may go to help their now incapped teammates, giving you a chance to run in and wail on them more. Not too hard to get. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Dead Wreckening(20G) Dole out 5000 total Survivor damage as a Special Infected. Tips: Versus cumulative achievement. Just keep playing versus, and after awhile of doing damage to the survivors this will unlock. Also, the points on the side of your name in the back button screen is not your damage given. It is only points. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ /Dranaxscas/ As for Dead Wreckening.. the damage next to your name on the back screen is double the damage you actually dealt to the survivor. If you melee as a hunter a few times, and it says 100 on the back screen, you've dealt 50 and brought somebody down to yellow. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Lamb 2 Slaughter(20G) As an Infected, incap a Survivor who has entered and left a safe room. Tips: Have a teammate jump someone close to the saferoom. Hope someone comes out and trys to help(Best if the last survivor) then jump on them. ============================================================================= ____ _ ____ | _ \| | / ___| | | | | | | | | |_| | |__| |___ |____/|_____\____| _ _ _ _ / \ ___| |__ (_) _____ _____ _ __ ___ ___ _ __ | |_ ___ / _ \ / __| '_ \| |/ _ \ \ / / _ \ '_ ` _ \ / _ \ '_ \| __/ __| / ___ \ (__| | | | | __/\ V / __/ | | | | | __/ | | | |_\__ \ /_/ \_\___|_| |_|_|\___| \_/ \___|_| |_| |_|\___|_| |_|\__|___/ ============================================================================= Crash-proof (15G) Survive the Crash Course Campaign. Tips: This is quite simple. Just beat the new DLC campaign, Crash Course on any difficulty. The new Crash Course campaign consists of only two levels, but if you do not speedrun through them it will take approximately 30 or so minutes. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Smash Hit (25G) Win a Versus campaign of Crash Course. Tips: Simply play a versus game of Crash Course, and win. A quick piece of advice for when you are playing as survivors, DON'T BE A HERO. If just you reach the saferoom, it won't help your team nearly as much then if you had went back to save a teammate and both of you escape. You get a better multiplier this way. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= The Littlest Genocide (25G) Kill 5,359 Infected in the Crash Course campaign Tips: Simply kill 5,359 infected ONLY in the Crash Course campaign. This achievement will be recieved over time, and can be done in Versus, Survival(Yes?), or Campaign. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Tank Stumble (20G) Stun a Tank with an explosion in the Crash Course campaign. Tips: There are many propane tanks in the Crash Course campaign. Pick one up, and carry it to the finale. When the finale starts, save the propane in a corner and wait for the tank. Then, when the tank comes throw the propane tank on him and shoot it. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= 20 Car Pile-up (20G) As a Tank hit 20 Survivors with a car in the Crash Course campaign. Tips: When you are playing versus Crash Course, cars will be everywhere. They glow red. So when you are a tank go up to a car and press RT to hit it. Continue hitting it with you until you get to a survivor, then hit it into them. It will hit and incapitate the survivor in one hit. Rinse and repeat 20 times for the achievement. ============================================================================= REST OF THE DLC ACHIEVEMENTS COMING! ____ _ _ _ / ___|_ __ ___ __| (_) |_ ___ | | | '__/ _ \/ _` | | __/ __| | |___| | | __/ (_| | | |_\__ \ \____|_| \___|\__,_|_|\__|___/ I thoroughly thank all of the below for thier much appreciated contributions to this guide. A: Press start and go to achievements. There it will record all your progress toward achievements that involve doing something more then once. Q: What Am I Trying to Prove won't unlock! I've beaten each chapter in campaign atleast once!(On Expert!) A: Did you do the full campaign in one sitting? That may be why. Make sure you finish each campaign before getting off your xbox! Q: What is this dashbooard glitch I keep hearing about? Does it work? A: The dashboard glitch is real, and it does work. However I do not advise using it. This is a quick and cheap way to get your achievements. What you do is have a person host a game on the finale(who will not get the achievement), and wait in the saferoom. Now he/she will invite the three other people participating who should be in the dashboard(You know, like when you first turn your Xbox on). They will accpet the invite from the dashboard and wait for it to load. Don't leave the saferoom until everyone has loaded. Then complete the mission doing whatever achievement you want. The achievements I know you can get from this are: Saftey First Nothing Special Stomach Upset What Am I Trying to Prove? Zombicidal Maniac Mercy Killer Toll Collector Grim Reaper Dead Baron Stand Tall Unbreakable Akimbo Assassin The only ways I know these will be negated after doing them right would be if A) You jump down before the plane crashes on Dead Air B) You didn't accept from the dashboard C) The rest of the team left the saferoom before you loaded UPDATE JULY 28th, 2009 The dashboard glitch has been patched. It will no longer work. _ _ ____ _ __ __ | | ___ __ _ __ _| | / ___|| |_ _ _ / _|/ _| | | / _ \/ _` |/ _` | | \___ \| __| | | | |_| |_ | |__| __/ (_| | (_| | | ___) | |_| |_| | _| _| |_____\___|\__, |\__,_|_| |____/ \__|\__,_|_| |_| |___/ This entire document is (C) [2009] [Ryan F.].
