The Basics =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1a.) The Main Menu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you first turn on the game, you will be brought to the main menu and asked to Press Start. Once you do that you choose your save device. You can choose from New Game, self explanatory. Load, Online, your multiplayer games, Versus, if you have another controller and player to play with. Replay, which is what you use to watch previous games that you have trounced opponents on or have been trounced yourself. Help, which is the basic help screen that will re-explain everything that I am telling you here, but it is useful if you're in game and not near a computer. And finally the Options menu. This game's options menu is very odd, it only has three options, BGM which is the music, System Voice which is the lady keeping track of turns and other things in game, and Done. Kind of a wimpy options menu, good thing the controls are simple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1b.) Game Modes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++ +Story Mode+ ++++++++++++ This is the main single player mode. This is the mode that you play to get your character started. Just be careful if you start a new game any information of a previous Cepter will be lost that you created unless you use another profile. You can resume a suspended game, you can continue a story that has already begun. When you start a new game, you get the options to make a new Cepter. The first line is the name line, you have a few options, you can change the hair style, the hair color, and the skin color, although the choices are rather limited, there are ways to make your character at least semi cool looking. The thing to watch out for is, if you have a cepter already started and start a new cepter, the old cepter you have saved will be erased. Then you go right into the dream. The other option is to load a game. When you load a game there are a few options you can choose from. If you have a previously suspended game, this is the place to call it back up from. You can continue at the last spot in the story you were in, or you can start a brand new game with the cepter. You can also do Maintenance on stuff. In the maintenance menu you can edit your books, you can look at your catalog, you can make new rules, you can make new AI cepters to play with. You can change the parts your avatar is wearing, you can change the game options, you can save the information that you change or create, you can export or import infromation, you can look at your game records, look at the achievements, or you can access the help menu. And finally, you can go back to the main screen. In the main menu of continuing a game, you have most of the same options you have in the maintenance menu, with a couple of major differences, one of which being to next stage, i.e. you play the next stage and continue the story. The other different option is the past stages option. This means that you can play previous levels with a random opponent that you have faced and beaten. The thing to warn about the past stages is that the opponents can change. Also, some of the previous stages may not appear after you have beaten later stages. For example, when you beat colosseum II you can't play Colosseum anymore, the same goes for Colosseum III and II. Stages like that. That is pretty much it for story mode, the rest is self explanatory, or they will help you, this is a game that is pretty good for that. +++++++++++++ +Versus Mode+ +++++++++++++ In this game mode you can play against or with other players that are using controllers on your system. You can play against story mode characters as well. This is a good place to get the character parts for the achievements, and the fact that you can control the boards and the amount of total TG needed. More Coming Soon... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +Online Mode(Multiplayer Mode)+ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Coming Soon... +++++++++++++ +Replay Mode+ +++++++++++++ This is where you can go and watch your saved replays of games. You can rename the saved replays or delete them. There is a major problem though, there is no fast forward, there is only one speed, and if you hit a button to get it to do something it will end the video and go back to the Replay Mode menu, so be careful to leave the controller alone if you want to watch one of your old games. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1c.) The Elements and Their Gods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, there are the four elements upon which the world was created. There is Wind, Water, Earth, Fire and.... heart. Well, all except the last one. Each of these elements has their own god corresponding with them. ++++++ +Wind+ ++++++ "The element of air brings bryness and quick destruction and is symbolized by waving fields of grain. The Main Characters ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++ +(YOU)+ +++++++ Whatever you decide your name to be, that is the main character of the game. The good guy. You start out in very humble beginnings, you are even sold into slavery in order to help your family and village. Then that is when all the weird stuff starts happening to you. ++++++++++ +Faustina+ ++++++++++ Princess of the Kindgom of Alastar. The Capitol is Alcyon, which will be a place you have to do battle. She was sent to the temple to be the champion of the realm and be the greatest cepter, and will save the kingdom. Faustina realizes that she does not have the power to bring the cards to life, and goes in search of the Savior, the one who will wield her deck of cards that has been passed down through the generations and save the kingdom from destruction. ++++++++ +Rilara+ ++++++++ Cepter Thief who goes through the game thinking that she is the greatest, and trying to steal Faustina's, your cards, any chance she gets, and that includes bursting in on a Colosseum Gladiator match. Or coming to help you because she wants to fight you. She could be a character that starts bad, but ends up as good. More Coming Soon... =============================================================================== 2.) Controls =============================================================================== The tutorial in this game is actually quite good. They explain everything in detail as it comes along. But of course, so will I, so you get a good jump on it and can get through the dialogue that much quicker and to the actual game. More Coming Soon... =============================================================================== 3.) The Walkthrough =============================================================================== I am going to put rough maps in each section for each battle board. Along with information that came in useful for me to win on each map. Also, a good note, this is like any other RPG, you can defeat enemies countless times. But instead of getting XP, you will get more cards in order to boost the power of your deck. And don't worry, despite what Rilara says, you don't lose cards. Looking at the maps here is the Key: F = Fire Territory W = Wind Territory Wt = water Territory E = Earth Territory Frt = Fort FT = Fortune Teller C = Castle S = Shrine B = Bridge N = Neutral Territory M = Morphing Territory WC = Warp Circle FW = Forced Warp T = Temple F = Fountain LS = Light Shrine DS = Dark Shrine ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3a.) The Opening ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You start out looking at your character in space and watching the stars be born You drift there a bit. Then a woman appears and starts talking to you, and tells you to go forth. You then start falling back to earth, contemplating the woman's strange words. When you awake, you go through a brief explanation of your life, where you live, and what leads you to the first animation. You have been purchased by a slave trader, and are now off. Dialogue does happen, but it is not important for this FAQ, considering you can't skip it anyway, maybe eventually, I will add the dialogue if enough people ask. As you are walking away with the slave trader a girl walks by, and the card in her hand shines to life. She turns and questions both you and the slave trader, oviously looking for you. You are stunned by her knowledge of you. Faustina, the girl, wants you to come with her, you are the one she is looking for you are the one that has had the dream that connects you to the gods. But the slave trader will have nothing to do with that, and wants Faustina to pay, as if she would have a problem with that. She is about to explain who she is, when the slave trader cuts her and you off from valuable information. But fret not you will get is later anyway. Then in walking away from Faustina, you run into Liara, an annoying thief of a cepter who is always trying to take your cards from you. She really isn't that good, but don't take for granted she is not a bad one if you aren't paying attention. Then comes the revelation that Rilara and you are ceptors, and you are pitted against one another to decide the fate of Faustina's cards. It's actually really funny, Rilara puts forth these two piddly Goblins, and then you call forth a Griffon, totally by accident. The Griffon is one of the more powerful Wind cards you can get for a while. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3b.) Santana Village ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C F Wt F Wt F Wt F Wt E W E W E W E W Frt Center Area 5000TG to win. Enemy: Rilara the Thief (Ree-La-Ruh) This is a very annoying enemy, she is not witty, just annoying. Read what comments she makes and you will see what I am talking about. The cards that you draw, really are random each and every time you play, so you can't save a game and if you don't like the play reload and play a different card. Rilara does not have any uber cards to play with. She has several goblins, and other equally weak cards. She has a couple good cards, such as her ogre cards. You on the other hand have better ones. You have the Yellow Ogre, Tornado, and Griffon. All three are pretty good cards. The Griffon is all around good, the Tornado is best used in defense of a territory. Rilara also has no real sense of strategy. She pretty much goes after any land she can despite what element the creature she summons is. In this one it is ok to say no to taking a territory, it won't hurt early on. This is especially useful in order to get chains going. Your initial deck is almost all water and wind creatures so keep that in mind when you are taking new territories. But don't rule out putting other creatures on non-matching territories, don't worry it will get easier to judge as time goes on. A good rule of thumb is, if you have a creature that matches the territory element place that creature, but if it does not sometimes it is good to take just to get the points going. The way Rilara's deck is set up, it is possible for her to only have items or spells and no creatures, use that time to your advantage, that would be a good time to level up a land if you can. Also a good strategy I have found, pay attention to your mana levels, because if you can swing it, it is good to widdle down an enemy that you land on. You may lose your creature and you will lose mana as a toll, but, you were going to anyway if you are using this strategy. This is a good precursor move, because as the game goes on, if your enemy raises the level of the land, it does not regain the creatures health, so a weak craeture makes it ripe for taking later. Unfortunately, your strategy really has to be made while the cards are in your hand in this first battle. As time goes on, you can make strategies by havin certain cards in your deck, but that is for later. Another thing about Rilara is that she will not just give up a toll, evidentally, she would rather lose creatures and tolls. Oh well, works better for you. Once you beat her, she can't believe it and then says that she will get you back. Faustina thanks you for keeping her cards safe. Faustina still wants you to come with her, but of course the slave trader sees a golden opportunity for more money. You, being inclined to help your family, go with him, despite what the pretty girl is asking. For beating this battle, you will get 9 random cards to add to your collection, and in turn add to your book to make you stronger. You will also aquire one possibly two weapons, and the gladiator suit, in which you can equip on your character. Although, they really don't seem to do anything, just change the look of your character. Oh, well. If you lose you only get 5 cards, so don't sweat it too much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3c.) The Colosseum ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ## The Colosseum ## "The combat arena in Moulin, a decadent entertainment city. Here, even Cepters are no more than part of the show." - Level Quote This one starts out with a neat view of a market place street. You then start talking about Moulin, the entertainment capitol of the world. He explains further about his story. Then goes into a simple definition of Cepters, and the different auras and occupations of cepters. Your character, at this time, has yet to learn the true meaning of their existence. You are then staning in a dungeon looking area when Faustina comes back and talks to you. She asks if you remember her, you do... She tells you her name, and then she begs you to come with her. You of course refuse in order to fulfill some duty to your village. She understands, and then offers to help you. She explains that if you win enough you will win your freedom. Then she offers you her cards, and she will show you how to fight. Don't worry this isn't a full in depth tutorial again. She simply explains the unknown territory, the shrine. You of course ask, why me? She says that she will explain more once you win, so take them. You do! You and your opponent walk out onto the arena floor. Koenig walks out and plays it up for the crowd, as if it is for him. Yeah... You are scared out of your mind. He then challenges you to see if you've "got what it takes to be a star" whatever that means. So kick his ass sea bass... Wt C F W Wt F E W E Frt Frt W E W F Wt E F S Wt Center Area 5000TG to win. This battle introduces a new territory called the Shrine. It is a square that can help you, hurt you, help your opponent, hurt your opponent, hurt or help all the players. It can be done on different ways, it could give you symbols, it could increase stats of certain territories or creatures, or it could do just the opposite, so be careful when landing on it. Enemy: Koenig (Coo-Nig) You come out of the box with a roll. Simply play it like before, try and match the color of the creature to the land. If you can't don't worry about it. Koenig is not one to go on too much. He'll say things like Argh, no worries. If you get a harpy out of it though use that if you want to on another land. She has attack first which comes in really handy. Koenig will pass on lands if he does not have that type at first, however, he is not above putting non- matching creatures into territories, so watch it. This is a good time to use the map feature when you hit down. This way you can look at the creatures on the board and see what strengths and abilities they have. Koenig is also a big user of spells when he gets them. He also has many items, one of the times I played him he had two chain mails at the get go. He avoids using territory commands at first, with the exception of a creature exchange. He will actually pay out on like a 100G toll if he doesn't have a creature that can win. A good thing to get used to now while it is early is get used to knowing what is the opponent's hand. Not exactly, but know that your opponent has like three creatures, two items and a spell or something like that. Koenig likes to wait until he has a large stockpile of mana in order to jump territory levels three or more at a time, so watch that. Koenig does not do the wittling strategy. He landed on one of my territories that was worth a 900G toll. He couldn't get it if he wanted to, but instead of putting a creature there that would at least inflict permanent damage, he used a giant rat with no items or tools or scroll attacks. I was able to get a wind chain started real early, and was able to level up my lands just as quickly. Luckily one of the lands I took Wall of Ice. In the time I played him he had a real nasty card called, Slyph. It is a green creature that neutralizes any creature with 40MHP and up. This can be a problem when you are guarding a territory with a high powered creature. I leveled up two territories to level 3 and one to level 4, and with three other territories that weren't leveled up, I achieved victory and I only had 100G when I got to the castle. The mana you receive when you cross the finish line counts towards the goal, and the goal condition, in this case 5000G, is assessed after you get your mana for completing a round around the board. I did land on an enemy territory that cost me 700G, and I still won. Koenig congratulates you on being the star for the day. The major payment won me the Leather Helmet avatar piece. Just by winning I got 10 shiny new random cards. A note about Koenig, if you play him on Colosseum III, that is good to get the Lion Heart Body Piece. He did not level up any of his territories until I was one space from the castle for victory, so if you can do it quicker, you'll win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3d.) Colosseum II ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ## The Voice in the Dream ## You talk about being victorious with Faustina's cards. You wonder why you were doing this. For her? or to find out more of being a cepter? or just to find out what he would become? Faustina praises you for your techinques and adds a new plot point, just like in her dreams. You of course are confused. She explains that the only way to travel across time is in dreams. She then ties your dream of the stars to hers justifying giving her cards to you. You don't believe that you are the savior. She tells you that you are, and you are the worthy one to bear her cards. she explains that the cards are the ties between the gods and the world, and the cepters are responsible for bringing harmony to the land. But, Cepters are mere tools for the enslavement of other nations. I've never seen a minstrel take another nation though. She says that you are not like the others. But you deny it, and explain that you are just a person running from his village, and not the golden boy she wants. She says that you are more important to the village than even you know. You fought for you and everyone else. She is positive you are the chosen one, and you will win. A big lizardman storms onto the arena floor. Pondon laments getting only cruel cries from the crowd for how he looks, and no appluases. If they will not root for him they will fear him. He then sighs and looks at you and says that he should get this done quick before you start crying on him. Well, it's time to have some gator for dinner, mmmm suculent meat! "The long fight for freedom has begun. The days of combat will continue until reaching the peak of the Colosseum" E E E F F E F FT Wt F W W Wt Frt W W Frt F Wt Wt Wt F Wt Wt Wt E FT W E W E W E W C Center Area 6000TG to win. This battle introduces yet another new territory, the Fortune Teller. This is a good thing to land on. The Fortune Teller will search through your deck and pull a random card of your choosing whether that be a creature, a spell, or an item card. Look at the situation and your hand and decide what would be more useful. If you have no creatures in your hand a creature card would be a good choice. If the board is full of creatures and you have no armor or weapons, the item card might be a good one. If you need a spell to get you more mana or slow down an opponent going to the castle for the win, you might want a spell card. Enemy: Pondon (Pawn-Done) At the start of when I played, this guy will just pay tolls at certain times. He really does try and only match the creatures to the territory types. When I played him he was mostly using a wind and water craeture deck. He does have a really nasty card you need to watch out for called Drought. It is a pain in the butt. It makes it so that you can't raise the levels of any of your lands for three turns. He always seemed to have a couple of item cards in his hand, Maces and Leather Armors. I managed to get a twister and griffon right next to each other and leveled them up as soon as possible, it helps, because he did not seem to be very interested in leveling up any of his territories for quite a while. Also, for the most part he will avoind the upper area that goes through earth and fire territories. This was actually one of the quickest battles that I have gotten to date. It didn't take long, and with him not leveling up his territories and not even fighting a toll of 720, it was rather easy. Pondon is really stumped that he lost to this brat, but he does give you props for not crying. For winning this one, you get 11 shiny new random cards. I have played this level several times afterwards to keep building my deck, and to try and get some new character parts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3e.) Colosseum III (Free for All) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Freedom" Your character reflects on winning and using Faustina's cards, and what she has meant to you and how she acted through the battles. You are feeling that you are now fighting for... her. If you win the next match you will be a free man. She tells you how good you have been doing, and that she KNOWS that you will win the next battle and win your freedom. You thank and give her all the credit. She says that you could have without her, and you did. You and your skills have what led you up to this point. She will be cheering for you, and she hopes that you don't lose sight of the fact that you have been doing all the work. You seem cheery for once as you thank her. You walk onto the arena floor as Markt, the champion does. He has ruled for ten years, but he has felt empty, will no one defeat him? YES!!!!! You will!!! Markt reflects on the meaning of a cepter, relating it to moths beating their wings in a cage. You prepare to fight, when suddenly, the annoying Rilara shows up. Evidently she has been looking all over for you. You of course are confused, so is Faustina. She boasts about herself, and says that she is suprised to find you in the arena. But of course, I bet you thought you were rid of her. No such luck, she is a main character. :( Even Markt is suprised by the entrance of Rilara, but shrugs it off and says that he will destroy you and Rilara. It is his duty as champion to win. "The day has finally come to fight the champion of the Colosseum. The final fight for freedom is about to begin." S F E F F Wt E F FT Wt E F E W E F E W Frt B C Frt W Wt W E W Wt W E W Wt B F W Wt Wt F S Wt West Area East Area 8000TG to win. This area introduces a new territory called the Bridge territory. This separates the two areas. This means that you can't get a chain from both areas. So if you have two Wind territories in the west area and two in the East area, this means you have two chains of two, not one chain of four. Also, a note for the Bridge, landing on and walking to the other side of the Bridge is only one movement, not two. I know that was a mistake I made at first, thinking it was two movement squares. Enemy: Markt (Marked) and Rilara (Free for All) You do need to come in first place in order to win your freedom, not just beat Rilara. Although, most of the time if you beat her, you have enough to beat Markt as well. This is a map that is good to pick a direction early. If you want the fort bonus early after the start of a new turn, you might want to go up toward the Fortune Teller, but if you want to start a good chain early, if you get the rolls and the creatures, head to the bridge. Markt and Rilara almost always head toward the Fort first, and not the bridge. Rilara's deck has changed a little bit, i.e. it has gotten a bit stronger, pretty much the same stuff though. For example, she has some new spells, like one that steals some of your magic, and unless Markt is in a big lead, she will target you. Markt is a mostly green and red user, so this is a good time to have those cards that neutralize those colors, I recommend the blue amoebas. Markt has a couple of creatures that are just not that good, like the Burning Titan, who loses 30 ST and HP if the user has 5 or more territories, which on this map is very easy. He also has the Weretiger, which loses 20 ST and HP after round 25, so keep that in mind as well. Rilara will take anything that she can get as far as lands, sometimes Markt will as well, but he will try and stick to getting Earth and Fire territories. In the beginning neither of them will level up there territories. It is odd, I had one time, Markt hit one of my creatures with a bolt to knock off 20 HP, and it was a level 2, but when he landed on it, he paid the toll. Don't worry though, despite what I have told you, they don't work together to beat you, they are out for themselves, and will play as such. This time around, Rilara is not against simply wittling down yours and Markt's creatures for later on, so watch that as well. Markt will also at times pass on lands if he has no other creatures in other of the same territories. Keep an eye out for one of Markt's Minotaurs, I hit it with a bolt of lightning and it killed the creature and took away Markt's chain. Watch out for another of Markt's items, it is a necklace that destroys your items, so watch out for that. Also, Rilara has an item, a ring, that gives her creatures attack first, so keep that in mind as well when attacking or if you have a weak HP creature with attack first guarding a territory. like Nike or Lizardman. Both Liara and Markt will raise lands to level 5 if they have the extra cash, and since they seem to stockpile their money, it will happen if the game goes on long enough. For coming in last place, you get 3 random cards, and don't worry you don't lose any cards, you replay the Colosseum 3, and the only change is that the other characters' commentary in game will change. Faustina walks out onto the field to congratulate you when you win. You have won your freedom. You of course now want to know who Faustina is and why she gave you her cards. She agrees, she is Princess Faustina, a member of the Royal family of Alastar. She serves at the temple to preserve balance in the nation. You are very suprised. The cards that she let you use were cards that have been passed down through the generations, and she was meant to wield them, but she was not able to get the power. Seems a little odd, since it just happened to you and others. She listened to the gods and came in search of you, the one who would wield the cards and save the land. She then pleads with you to come with her, for the nation is on the brink of war. You are a bit unsure... For winning this battle, you get 12 new random cards to add to your catalog, and the Champion's Cloak which can be put on your back. There are some good, and bad things that happen after you beat the Colosseum. The good thing is that when you play it again to get more cards, you are only facing Markt, which makes it a bit easier. On the bad side of things, you can no longer play the Colosseum II or the original Colosseum Level. This is a normal thing, your game didn't glitch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3f.) Alcyon, Capitol of Alastar ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Empire and the Princess" You talk about the Advatarian Empire in Alastar. You have arrived in Alcyon, the capitol city with Faustina the Princess. You realize that the city was so much different from your life and people that it was ridiculous. But neither you nor Faustina were sure of anything at this point. You are hoping to unlock the mystery of the star dream and the cards. You walk into the main hall with Faustina and come to the throne with the King sitting in it. He looks possessed, almost like in the Lord of the Rings, hmmmm.... He asks if you are the boy who will save the kindgom. He does not sound too convinced. But Faustina sure is. Then Anedia, Faustina's sister makes an appearence, for what that's worth. Faustina is a bit suprised to see her sister. She is appalled that Faustina would seek the help of commoners, and that her weird little animal thing was more than up to the task as a cepter. He even says that he is a lot stronger than he looks. Anedia comes up with the idea to have a battle of the cepters and the winner will be the kingdom's champion. The King could care less. Faustina pleads with Anedia to stop this. But you step up anyway, because you... are a badass. She starts to protest, but you step forward and have made up your mind to fight for her. Anedia is more worried about her power in the kingdom compared to Faustina's. So she tells the little animal to nail you to the wall. Then Ticomun, talks about hurting...you. Ticomun comes forward and his entire demeanor changes to something really evil. He talks about being the only one to serve the king, and telling you to flee before he goes zombie on you. Anedia brings Ticomun back to normal, and he apologizes. You are a bit concerned... Oh well, let's actually stuff this little thing. He loves his spells and items. Although, his in game commentary is hilarious. He'll say things like, I'm going to kill you and suck out your brains, despite the fact that at first glance, he is this cute little stuffed animal looking thing with a very dark hidden side. Even the music that comes with this map is really annoying. Now don't understimate this guy too much he can be a burden. He has this card called poison that is not good. He also has a buckler which basically neutralizes a ton of damage. Ticomun, tends to match up the symbols of territories with his creatures. He has a card called blackout that he will use regularly. He is mostly a wind and water user with a couple of neutral cards thrown in there. His favorite to play is his centaur cards, because they have attack first, so keep that in mind if you are on your way to landing on one. He also has many items. He has long swords, slings, axes, and chain mail, all pretty good items. He is not against playing neutral cards on the neutral territories. He will pass on territories if it does not benefit him. Ticomun will also change the neutral territories in order to help him chain territories. Ticomun is also a big fan of invading, even if he has no chance. Although, the tendency he had was, once all the math was said and done if he couldn't win with an item he wouldn't waste the item. Ticomun concedes that he couldn't beat you. Anedia is actually suprised that the ball of fluff on a stick could lose, oh well. You won, but you don't sound too happy about it. Faustina apologizes for you having to fight like this. You show concern for her, but she does tell you that you are getting better, and thanks you for all your help so far. The King adheres to the decision and gives Faustina full authority, although, still very indifferent. Faustina agrees, almost reluctantly. The King then explains the situation with all the other four nations. The King finally gets happy or at least shows some enthusiasm from wanting all the other nations to throw down their arms and save the kingdom from disaster. There is a snippet of writing to give you the choise of where to go first in your new quest. I started with the Great Forest. For winning this stage you get 12 new random cards to add to the catalog. Melkizekiah, the Great Forest (Earth Kingdom) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Beast Queen" You go southeast, and talk about the people that really hate the empire, who tried to exploit their land. You and Faustina go into the depths to seek peace. Meltia is kind of an arrogant one, she says that you being there offends her. Faustina, pleads for her to listen to her seeking peace. Meltia does not believe Faustina, and worries of the empire taking the rest of the woods. Meltia does not listens and even throws it out there that the royal house has not cepters. Faustina is taken back by that and asks what Meltia means. Meltia sees this as a chance to the destroy the empire, and then threatens to do some very unpleasant things to you and Faustina. You step forward and get between Meltia and Faustina. There's more than one way to skin a cat. "Shrouded within a deep jungle, this nation lives in harmony with nature. They hold earth cards sacred." C F E F E F E FT S E M E M E M Frt WC FW Frt Wt F Wt E Wt F Wt E Wt W W E M M M E W E W E W WC Center Area 9000TG to win. This map introduces two new squares. The morphing squares and the warp circles. The morphing squares will change to the territory of whatever the creature type is. But if a neutral lands on it, it will become neutral and only cost 100G to change it to a normal land. The warp circle will take you from one warp circle to another, if you land on it. You need to walk to the forced warp to get back to the first warp circle. A note for future maps, the Forced Warp Circle works the same as the warp circle, but if you walk passed the Forced Warp Circle you will be warped not just from landing on it. Also, something to keep in mind, is that in his map the inner area is its own separate area, so it won't count as towards the chains on the outside area. Enemy: Meltia (Melt-e-uh) Her deck is comprised of all green creatures and no spells. So keep that in mind when tweaking your deck to face her. If you have all cards that neutralize green cards, you are in like flint and basically any land you take will be untouchable to her, she won't even try it most times if that is the case. If she can take a morphing square as green any chance she can, she will, it only improves her chain. She will pass on lands that aren't green, which really can come in handy as the time goes on. What I do is put my amoebas on the green lands, so she can't take them, and then level those up first. She will even pass on green lands at first if her mana level is below a certain point. Meltia has a good compilation of weapons and armor and other items so watch out, and it is a good strategy to keep yours in your hand for a while if you have them, just until you can cement your defenses with levels. She will put her snails on other lands, because she can use their ability called peace, and while they cannot take tolls, she will never lose those lands. After a couple of rounds, if she is running out of green territories to take, and you are building up your chains, she will take nonmatching territories just to hurt you, but at first she won't level those up at all. She will also start leveling up her lands early so I recommend you doing the same, all the while keeping about 200G to 150G back to fight with. She will get to a point, where she will level up fast, and a lot, especially if you do what I did and get nailed for 1000G toll. She will get to the point where she will go for the throat and try and take your lands, or she will attack one of your creatures with a cockatrice which will turn whatever creature you had into a wall of stone, which isn't bad itself, especially if you are using the defense strategy. An odd thing to point out is that Meltia will not use the Fortune Teller ability of grabbing a card, she will always pass on it. If you lose this battle, don't fret, you will still get 6 new random cards, and Meltia isn't going to skin you alive. You simply try, try again. Meltia bows down to you and then tells you that she was told that the empire had no Cepters. Ooops! Faustina wondered who said that. She says that he was a traveler from another land and that he shared his message with all the races. Faustina wonders who the traveler could be, and you just sit there and grunt in thought again. Meltia thinks that the forest will soon be razed by the empire so she fights. Faustina promises that she will not let that happen and asks Meltia to be allies. Meltia agrees but then she threatens to leave the forest and wreak havoc on the empire if the word is broken. Faustina agrees, to the Fire Kingdom!!! For winning the battle you get 12 shiny new cards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3h.) Phoenixion, Mountain of the Firebird (Fire Kingdom) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Flame and Reason" You talk about the fiery peak east of the capitol. The people there use the river of fire to craft tools, and make things. They have been using their tools to fight the empire. You and Faustina meet, Borival. He talks about using fire to craft their tools. But fire must be tempered with reason and if the reason is lost, the flames burn out of control. Faustina pleads to stop the fighting appealing to Borival's sense of reason. He seems to lose his reason and give into emotion, he talks about the empire scheming to steal their fortunes and invade the fire land. He once again brings light to the fact that the royal house has no cepters. Faustina, suprised again, asks where he heard that. He talks of a servant of the high priest told them so. Faustina is shocked. Borival ends the peace talks. He talks about throwing you and Faustina into the flames, with reason, and you can make their weapons forever, for this is the time to crush the empire. "A nation at one with the volcano, with a culture of iron and stone. The people of this land place their faith in fire cards." Frt MC F MC F WC Wt MC Wt MC E FT E F S F W F F W F F W F W F C F E FT E MC Wt MC Wt WC F MC F MC Frt Center Area 9000TG to win. This map once again has warp circles on it, however, in this one, if used correctly, they could give a good jump on laps. In this map, it introduces multi colored lands. These lands give the bonus of any type creature that is placed on them, with the exception of neutrals. These cannot be chained together. It is very cheap to change them to a land type that you want, and it is recommended to change them soon after getting one to help, and in this map avoid turning them into Fire lands if you can. Enemy: Borival (Boar-ih-vull) This guy of course uses an all red deck, so anti red stuff might be a good addition to your deck when you are tweaking one. Another good thing to do, is take out your red creatures that aren't red salamanders. The reason being is that the salamanders get a boost to hp when damaged by red creatures. Borival has a few of them, and having red creatures other than that one isn't the best thing in the world. He levels up quickly, he leveled up a land on his second turn. He will pass on lands that are not fire early on in the game. He will attack your creatures on other lands, if he thinks that he can win, so having items in your deck might be a good thing, if nothing else just for defense. He will even pass on fire territories for some unknown reason, he had a chance to make a chain and get a support bonus and passed on it. After a time, he will take other lands if they give bonuses. He will move creatures off of the multi- colored lands to fire lands to get a better bonus if he can do it. The reason that he puts creatures on certain lands is because he has a spell card that can transform territories to the type that the creature is holding the territory. He will level up a lot of his lands. I landed on two lands that cost me 260G because of 1's so either keep him from keeping them or keep a stockpile of mana. Borival is a fan of the whittling technique, another concern to watch out for. Borival does have spells as well as items, I have seen a chain mace, chain mail, and also a couple of spells, one of which makes a creature have 20 more ST and gets enchanted with poison. Borival will waste creatures attacking one of your territories even if it is not possible for him to win. I had a blue amoeba defending a land that was 240G and it is immune to green and red. Well he attacked anyway and lost, duh! But then there are other times, when it is not a fire land that he will just take the hit, far from reason. A good thing to watch out for and destroy if you get the chance, he has the fire scroll which if you are using the amoebas, will destroy them, that sucks. Fasutina tells Borival that she does not want to fight anymore, and makes a ploy to his intellect to join the alliance for peace. He agrees that his reason may have been briefly flawed. He agrees and pays you a compliment. Faustina thanks him very much for that. Faustina thinks that there is someone trying to undermine the kingdom and the royal family. You both continue on your journey. In this walkthrough we will go to Blumeer, Country of Mist. For winning this battle, you get 12 random cards to add to your catalog. Also, you will get the Ally of Fire achievement. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3i.) Blumeer, Country of Mist (Water Kingdom) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Queen of the Water"
You descrive Blumeer, a misty fertile land. You talk about how this was the
most powerful nation on the continent before the kindgom. You and Faustina go
there hoping to quell the hatred of the empire

You are in a very nice throne type room, with the queen of the water. Krone,
nice name, laughs at your offer of peace talking about the kingdom draining
them and their water. Faustina swears that her kingdom will do no more harm to
her lands, on her name as a princess. Krone tells her to keep her lies, and
that she will sink her and the kingdom. Ticomun steps up, what?!!! Faustina
asks what he is doing there. Lady Anedia sent him to fight with you, this
makes things interesting, or scary depending on how you look at it. Faustina
thinks that Anedia wants to help. Ticomun freaks again and says that she wants
all of us killed, quite painfully. So much for an easy battle.

This map is separated into three areas, so keep that in mind when trying to
form chains. The Forced Warps in the western and eastern areas send you to the
opposite, so if you are on the one in the east area you go to the west and vice

whichever Forced warp in the southern area you land on will send you back to
the warp circle you originally landed on.

Enemy: Krone (Kroan) and Ticomun II

Krone is a water only user. Ticomun still sticks to his spells, items, wind,
and water creatures, but they have gotten stronger. He uses the knights now
for example. Both Krone and Ticomun will pass on lands that do not help them.
Ticomun however, because he is pissed at you will only use spells on you unless
Krone has a great lead. Krone will also change other lands if she has a decent
chain already started, she changed a fire to a water land to get a 4 chain.
Ticomun did not level up much at first, he only leveled up once in like 30
turns. He will however, change lands to help himself, why he changed them to
water when fighting the queen of the water, I don't know. Krone will pass on a
water land if it does not help her chain and is small enough in toll. At least
when I was playing, if all three players were in the same area, or whomever was
in the south area, the game would bog down a little. I did not even waste my
creatures in the southern area. Krone will do that she will take any of those
morph lands that she can. Two very strange things happened towards the end of
the game. One, Ticomun and Krone started targeting each other for spells and
attacks, despite the fact that I was drastically in the lead. Then Ticomun,
instead of going to the castle to complete a turn, went to the southern area.
They will even attack each other if they cannot win, it's weird, this may be
a glitch. But they will still target you if you are in the lead with like slow
spells or holy word spells.

Faustina pleads with Krone to let go of her anger, and join the alliance. Krone
laughs at the pleading and agrees, but with one condition, you must go with
her. Faustina can't believe it. You are rather afraid. Krone was messing with
you and Faustina and agrees to join the alliance for peace. Faustina agrees
and thanks Krone. Faustina was sad that her sister sent her cepter to attack
you and the others but her sense of duty pushed her on and you made your way to
Batuan, the Golden Desert.

"The City of Sand and Wind"

You talk about the desert spreading far and wide. Once upon a time, it was
once said to be a fertile land. Faustina tells you that the people in the
desert used to be allied with the empire. But now they are enemies, and so you
go to their barren land to forge a new alliance.

If anyone has seen Outlaw Star, the voice of Wongen is the voice of the
narrorator in Outlaw Star.

Wongen talks about all things changing, even glory...fades. You just stand
there like usual, saying nothing. Faustina makes her plea for peace. Wongen
reacts and talks once again how things fade, and once the alliance was formed
the empire ravaged his lands for the gold. She understands and acknowlegdges.
She wants to make the land bountiful again, together. Enter, Drachma, he
talks about the empire always wanting to invade, and tells someone to seize
you and take your cards. Faustina asks who he is. Drachma says that he is a
cepter in service of the high priest and is here to take Faustina away. She is
confused and afraid. You don't know what to do. Wongen realizes that Drachma
has decieved him, and the empire has cepters after all. Drachma says he must
have been mistaken and says that he will just have to kill you here. Then
Wongen says that everyone will be annihilated. The plot thickens....

This is a very odd map. It has a North Fort, A West Fort in the northern area,
but it has 3 South forts in the southern area. You have to hit the North Fort,
the South Fort, and then the West Fort. It does not matter which southern fort
you hit, as long as you hit one. Also, there are two areas again, so keep that
in mind when taking territories.

Enemy: Wongen (Wong-in) and Drachma (Drock-ma)

Wongen of course has all wind creatures, and a couple of spells. Wongen will
put his creatures on the multicolored lands, on wind lands, and even on water
lands. Drachma has a couple of nasty spells and lots of items in his repitoire.
He has this one called Punisher that deals 20 damage to all creatures that have
an effect on them. He also has another one that removes an effect from a
territory. Wongen had a bunch of items including battle axes, crossbows, and
the blue scroll attack that attacks green and red creatures, so keep that in
mind. Wongen will spend the money to change the terrains of lands that he has
creatures on, so watch out for that. Drachma seems to have mostly spells and
items but some powerful creatures like a necromancer, and minotaurs. Wongen
has a spell that comes up quite a bit called shrink that knocks off 10 from
a creatures ST and MHP, so keep that in mind, a good counter is healing spells
or hacing defensive items. Drachma got monster cards after a while when I
played him, but he seemed to be mostly made of red creatures, good for Wongen
and you to beat. Wongen will level up fast and hard, he went from 1 to 4 in a
matter of two turns. Wongen has the wind witch who steal mana from a target
player, Wongen is at least fair, he attacked me and then Drachma. Wongen has a
spell card that says that a creature will not receive the land effect, so that
could be a problem if you are trying to defend a high level creature. Wongen
has both scrolls, he has a scroll to critical hit on any colored creature.
Wongen has a spell called quicksand which effects a creature until a battle
and then does something bad to that creature. Drachma really wasn't a big
challenge, which means his master later on will be. Wongen was the one to
go after, he got a land to level 5 and it was all over from there. It is good
to have the anti-water and wind scrolls to destroy annoying creatures like
that. Also, keep in mind all the math and abilities of creatures, such as a
twister that ges +30 ST and -10 HP but gets to attack first. Drachma has a
really nasty card that puts paralysis on a creature as an enchantment. So
either have something that removes enchantments or be prepared to exchange out
nerfed creatures. A good strategy tip, both Wongen and Drachma tend to go down
from the southern area warp point, so if you can get some powerful creatures in
there and level them up, that is the way to take the tolls, otherwise, you are
getting territories that proabably won't see more than a couple of tolls.
In this battle, Drachma will put anything anywhere if he doesn't have the
creatures or the right type of creature to match.

For Coming in 2nd you get 6 new random cards to play to add to your catalog,
and will have to play the level again. :(

Drachma worries about you winning and must go warn the High Priest.

Faustina begs Wongen to join the alliance and promises that what happened to
his land before will not happen again, and together all the lands will prosper.
Wongen agrees, not to join the Empire, but to join you and flourish together.
Faustina thanks him.

For winning this battle, you get 12 random new cards to add to your collection.
And you get the Ally of Air achievement.

The King commended you for winning and coming back. The King wants to make you
a general, but didn't seem to care about the man who wanted Faustina, or the
High Priest. The King really didn't seem to care about yours and Faustina's
alliances, only his own ambitions. Then the fateful day arrived.

You are in the throne room, and Faustina pleads with the King. The King says
that he can now see the enemies and that they shall smite them and expand the
Empire. Can't say you didn't see that coming, look at the man's face. Faustina
talks about seeking peace in the name of the temple and of the cepter. She
wants to know what invasion would accomplish now. The King gets pissed, and
calls the cepter a tool, an instrument for conquest. The King tempts you with
position and prestige, and a life you can only dream of. You say no, you have
been with Faustina and you're not stopping now. You will not fight if she does
not want you to. Faustina thanks you. The King orders Faustina to order you
to fight for the nation, and then questions her as a daughter. Faustina
disowns herself and tells him that he is no longer her father. Anedia heard
everything. Faustina is suprised. Right..... Anedia does what all cowardly
enemies do and tells Faustina that she brough this upon herself. Anedia wants
Ticomun to settle this for good. Ticomun agrees, and then turns all nuts again,
and says that he is going to bash your brains to bits, although he has tried
twice now and failed, oh well a third beating might be just what this stuffed
animal needs. This time even Anedia does not stop Ticomun from freaking out.

9000TG to win.

This map introduces temples. Faustina explains, generally how they work, I will
go a little bit more into detail here. When buying symbols, you have to look
at the symbol value of each land type you have, that is the cost of one symbol.
So a good strategy is to buy low early, and sell high, because you can stop
and do stuff at a temple every time around the board, and the organ music is
really nice.

Enemy: Ticomun III

Supposedly, Ticomun is not supposed to hold back this time, we'll see. His book
has gotten stonger, he is using much stronger wind and water creatures. He has
Storm giants, griffons, and knights oh my! He still likes his Gelatonous Cube
though, at least that has not changed. He places wind creatures on water lands
though which is a bit odd. He will pass on the sybols at first. Ticomun will
pass on small tolls if they are in lands he doesn't want such as earth lands.
Ticomun has a nasty spell called waste, that doubles the cost of your opponent
placing creatures and doing other stuff, so if you are toating a 140 creature,
that could be bad. He does have the spell, topsong which raises all HP of his
creatures by 20 for 4 rounds, so watch that. Also, for some reason, the scroll
attacks that critical on wind and water creatures didn't kill them so avoid
using the scrolls. Ticomun will level up a land to put greed on it, and get
more tolls, so if you can that would be a good land to target with creature
damage spells and abilites.

You beat the crap out of Ticomun and he realizes that he just can't beat you.
Anedia immediately goes for the treason charge as soon as she sees that her
precious little Tico got its butt kicked, again! Faustina is on the ground, and
you run to her side. Faustina says for you to take the cards and flee here
quickly. You worry about her. She is sorry that things had to end this way.
She must stay for some reason, and you must go. Anedia says to seize you and
Faustina and execute you immediately. You say you won't go and Faustina needs
to get up and come with you. You pick her up and make your way away from the
enemy.

For winning this battle, you get 12 new random cards. In mine, there were a lot
of red and spell cards.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3l.) Dinar Mountains
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allied Struggle

You talk about the Denar Mountains, and that it is horrible, and yet you were
there. You went in search of Faustina's master who is said to be there. You are
fugitives from the empire and you need save haven.

Faustina thanks you for bringing her there, and that if you wouldn't have
gotten her out, she would have been executed by Anedia by now. You just look
sad. Faustina talks about the cards connecting the gods with the world, and yet
the cards cause conflict. Faustina is questioning the cards' existance. But you
remind her that without them, you two would not have met. Faustina says that
there must be something more behind your dream. She is part of the temple but
can't answer that question. She just wanted to have the same dream. You don't
know what to say, when Drachma appears, again. Faustina is scared, and Drachma
asks you to step aside so that he can talk with the Princess. You stop him and
tell him not to go near her. In comes Castora, who compliments you on being
cute and charming, and then rags on Drachma for losing to you. Faustina doesn't
know what to say with the entrance of a new cepter. You are just getting mad.
Drachma warns her not to let down her guard. Castora is impressed with the fact
that you are going to fight them both at once, and she is looking forward to
you joining her harem of little boys, kind of gross. Then comes in Rilara,
again. Rilara is the only one who is going to fight you. Drachma is suprised.
Even your character says not you again. Once again she wonders why you've
forgotten her. When she heard you escaped she scrambled to follow. She is not
a fan of this 2 on 1 stuff, so she is going to help you, but she is going to
fight you after, could this be a change from enemy to ally?! Then Drachma
simply tells Castora to take care of this quickly. Her pleasure, ew.

"A savage mountain range perpetually covered in snow. Only one person resides
in this place."

Enemy: Drachma and Castora (Cast-or-uh)

This is a 2 on 2 match between Drachma and Castora vs. You and Rilara. That
whole enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well the great thing is that you share a
score, you share chains, but you don't get the symbol bonus from your partner.
For example if you have a creature that requires you to have a territory of
that type, if your partner has it, it doesn't count for you, which bites, but
other than that it isn't bad. It makes it a lot easier to handle the assassins.
Both Drachma and Castora have a good amount of spells in the repitoire. Castora
makes good use of the scrolls that sometime kills creatures that should not be
killed and sometimes don't. Drachma has some new creatures for this battle.
The first time I faced him, he had red and green cards, but this time, he had
wind cards as well. Castora had neutral and green cards at first. Both Drachma
and Castora will slow you down, and they do have the slow and the holy word 0
spell cards. Drachma still has his puppet hand item. It is an item that takes
an enemies item in battle and uses it as if it was his, so keep that in mind,
or destory it, that is a good move as well. Neither of them seem to want the
neutral lands, this would be a good time to use them and transform them
to help your chains. Drachma also has blue cards along with the wind cards, and
he seems to be done with using the red and green creatures. They will pass on
lands that do not give them chains, or if they don't have the color creatures,
I watched both of them pass on 3 red lands. Both Castora have items, and are
not afraid to use them, so it would be good to keep some of your own as
defense. Rilara will really help out when she can, and of course since she
likes to invade it is sicking the computer on the computer, it is nice. Once
again the scroll that criticals on wind and water creatures didn't kill it
outright, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, I will have to make a note
about those cards when I discover something more. Only after a time, will
they start taking Neutral lands, especially if it can help a chain. When either
of them has the crusher card to destroy an item they will always go after your
armors, that is why I have the catapults, but if you don't have armor the
catapults will be their next targets. It's kind of interesting that even though
there is a time when Rilara is the threat, they will still use you as the
target for their spells. They will actually target Rilara if she has more items
in her hand.

The two assassins bow to you, and Drachma can't believe that you won again.
Castora can't believe it either, and questions what kind of boy you are. All of
a sudden, High Priest Sapphius appears behind Faustina, and asks what has
happened here. Faustina is surprised, and so is Drachma. You are as well.
He asks Faustina if he can embrace her card denying heart. Faustina asks who he
is. He is Sapphius, the one true cepter of this world, as if we haven't heard
that before. He tells Faustina to join him. Faustina tries to resist and calls
for help. You yell her name, even Rilara says that he can't do that. Sapphius
tells the fools to stand down, who's he talking to? He calls up a wall of fire
and you howl as you get near, so does Rilara. Faustina pleads again, no! Then
Sapphius says it is time... and disappears, why do the bad guys always get at
will teleportation. You yell Faustina's name as she disappears. You get sad,
even Rilara feels sorrow. You call Faustina's name one more time.

For winning this battle, you get 12 new random cards to add to the catalog.

*******************************************************************************
Name: Leather Helm

Description:
"A helmet made from tanned animal hide. Don't expect much defense from it"

To Unlock:
Pay 400G or more in a single toll. Achieve victory.

Player Description:
This was not very cool, and simply covers your character's hair. Not really
worth it to wear, but it is a player's choice. - mattx2099
*******************************************************************************

*******************************************************************************
Name: Dwarven Helm

Description:
"A helmet made with the unique smithing technique of the dwarves. It boasts
unusually high defense."

To Unlock:
Chain 10 territories or more. Achieve victory.

Player Description:
I don't think that it is cool enough to wear, it covers the hair. The easy way
to get this is to play a versus match, standard game, play on the Santana
Village board, set all the lands to morphing lands. That way you should be able
to easily chain 10 territories together. - mattx2099
*******************************************************************************

*******************************************************************************
Name: Chain Helm

Description:
"A helmet woven from fine chain that completely covers the head. It provides
strong defense, but the wide open face part is its weak point."

Fail 5 or more invasions. Achieve victory.

Player Description:
I think that this is the coolest helmet so far on this list. But I think it is
still not cool enough to wear. - mattx2099

Description:
"A hat favored by pirate captains. The skull insignia gives it an ominous
look."

I think this is just as ridiculous as some of the other ones. The only thing it
does is cover your hair and make you look like a cabin boy on a pirate ship.

Name: Leather Armor

Description:
"Armor made from tanned animal hide. It's considerably better than wearing

"Magical armor that may onnly be worn by those who control the elemental powers
of fire and earth."

To Unlock:
Change all lands to fire and earth elements. Achieve victory.

This is a cool armor, and I will wear this for a while. The way to get it is
