Copyright 2011 zr122 (Bryan Francis) A word of note: this guide assumes you purchased the Bonus Pack from the Xbox Live Marketplace. It adds nine new Achievements for 240G. You'll also get two new weapons for each of the six party members; in fact, they are the best weapons available, and if you equip them from the start of your journey, the entire game will become a hell of a lot easier. Also, when I reference the amount of Achievements you've won/have left to win, I'll include the full number. The same goes for the total GamerScore you should have. Don't worry if you don't have the DLC, though. I'll make separate notes along the way for the DLC Achievements. Table of Contents Disc One Part 1 - Highwind Island Part 2 - Oldfox Canyon Part 3 - Cota Mare Part 4 - Dunan Hill Interlude - Highwind Island Disc Two Part 5 - Ruhalt Basin Part 6 - Belfort Part 7 - Ruhalt Plateau Interlude - Cleanup Part 8 - La Strada Quest Journal Characters Skill Trees Equipment Disc One -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 1 - Highwind Island -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the initial cut scenes and dialogue, you'll get the tutorial for Event Triggers. Afterwards, you will finally have control over Juto, the protagonist. Take a quick second to familiarize yourself with the movement controls. Press the (>) Start button to bring up the menu, and then scroll down to Options to customize your experience. When you're ready to progress the story, head north. The mini-map in the top right corner will have a red arrow pointing to your destination. As you get closer, it will turn into a flag; that is called an Event Trigger, which you learned about in the first tutorial. You can also bring up a larger map by pressing (<) Back. You'll want to steer Juto up the ramps to the middle landing. There you'll go through some more dialogue with Melissa. There is some good info about the world in this conversation, so pay attention. There won't be a test or anything but it's good information to know. Once control is back, follow the red arrow towards the center of the village. Don't focus too much on exploration right now, as we'll go over all that later. Right now, head towards Melissa. There will be a flag on the mini-map at her location, and once you get close enough, you'll see a red exclamation mark over Melissa's head. This denotes a Required Quest (RQ), and these will progress the main story. Melissa will also offer you the chance to learn about fighting. If you've already progressed through the game, then you should click (Y) to skip it. Also, if you've played through the game before, I'm sorry that most of what you're reading right now is pointless review. For the rest of you, click X. Melissa will explain battle when you get to Highwind Island Shore. Now that you have your first quest, you can bring up the menu and access the Information tab. This will bring you to three sub-menus: Quest Journal, Cube-Mail, and Tutorial Review. You'll probably never have to use the Tutorial Review, unless you stop playing for a long time and can't remember how to do certain things. Cube-Mail is unavailable until later in the story. The Quest Journal is where you'll go to check on the status of your quests. Right now you have one quest (Kill the Clawpers) in the Required Quest section. There is a completion percentile maker in the bottom left corner so you can see your progress. Look to the bottom right corner of your screen. This is where Field Action cues will appear. Right now it should be telling you that Juto can talk to Melissa with (A). If you move a little, it will change to Kick, and be grayed out. There's a tutorial for this coming soon. There are also the shortcuts to the map (<) and the Battle Menu (Y). The Battle Menu will be explained later. Walk towards the lift that is south of Melissa, and use Lower to go to the next area. For now, just follow the path downwards, and then turn west. There is another Event Trigger, so head towards it. The Village Girl will explain the Field Action function (as well as give you a Tutorial) that explains Kick. To the right is a Lapper's Shell. Kick it to obtain a Pearl. A message will appear at the top left of your screen to that effect. Whenever you find items, they will be mentioned at the top left of your screen. In exchange for giving Village Girl the Pearl she was looking for, she'll explain Pillars, which are basically save points. Use it now! Head south from here and you'll come to Highwind Island Shore. If you selected to receive combat training, there will be a Clawper on the shore waiting for you. Melissa will show up and teach you about combat. For those who opted out of training, you'll have to go past the barricade to find Clawpers, but you won't have to sit through a tutorial. Here's what you need to know from the tutorial: )LT| Combat/Movement Mode (A) Standard Attack {LS} Dash (X) Skills (B) Signature Technique (RB) Change Target (LB) Change Target Melissa will head out to Windsong Caverns at the end of the tutorial. As soon as you have control again, enter Combat Mode, because the Clawper that you couldn't kill before will start attacking you. Use Juto's basic 3-hit combo to kill it. Note that in the top left corner you'll get confirmation of one Clawper killed, as well as 39 experience. When done, head forward (south) towards the barricade. Once on the other side, you'll be at the beach itself, and will see some villagers killing Clawpers. Help them out to get one or two more kills. There are plenty of other Clawpers on the shore if you want to stay and level up. Juto starts at level 3, and requires 430XP to level up. Enemies will occasionally drop a shiny gold coin. This is the currency of the game, and is called SID. I don't think the game actually explains what SID means, so I call it a Standard Imperial Dollar. Juto starts with 50SID. Kill two more Clawpers to complete your first quest. Whenever you're done, head back to the barricade. There is an Event Trigger, as well as a red checkmark. These checkmarks mean that you can talk to a specific person and finish a quest. In this case, it is a villager named Bilter. He'll have a checkmark over his head, just like Melissa had an exclamation mark above hers earlier. Go ahead and talk to him. ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 5G - First Quest Cleared Cleared the first quest. ---------- 1/46A 5/1240G ---------- There's some dialogue next, with very little useful information, in my opinion. Read through it all, and then head back to the village. There is an Event Trigger showing you the way, and you can always bring up the larger map with (<). You'll have to use the Field Action Raise to use the lift, but from there it's smooth sailing. Once in the village, head to the Event Trigger to meet some new characters, and hear some dastardly news! ...okay, that was way to much enthusiasm, and I'm sorry. It won't happen again. Anyways, Zephie and Argo will join your party as Guests. Nothing really changes, except that Zephie will continually heal you, and Argo will attack some enemies. You'll only be controlling Juto, so don't worry too much. You'll need to go to the Windsong Caverns, so head to the west. You'll need to swing past the lift you used earlier, and from there you'll climb down a lot of wooden ramps. When you get to the bottom, check out the little hut for a treasure chest. It contains two Healing Seeds. These restore 200HP to a single ally, and are added to the three that Juto already has. Again, Zephie will take care of healing, so you won't have to use any of these right away. While we're talking about items, press (>) and select the Items sub-menu. There will be a list of all your items, but you can use (RB) and (LB) to move through the different sorting options. If you downloaded the DLC you can see the best weapons in the game listed in your inventory. More on those later. The Windsong Caverns are simple to navigate. The most difficult part is deciding whether to go right or left at the fork. No matter which direction you choose, help the Southern Forces member defeat the Barnacles. A simple 3-hit combo followed by Skyward Hammer should take them each out, as they would have been weakened by the Southern Forces soldier. Talk to him when you're done to receive Healing Seed(2). From there, head further north into the caverns, killing more Barnacles on the way. You'll come to a tight spot where a Southern Forces soldier is fending off two Barnacles and two Northern Forces Light Armors. Take them all out (be careful not to go into Overheat!) and then press on. Even though the Northern Forces are level 6, they pose no threat. Argo will help, and Zephie will heal when needed. Talk to this second Southern Forces guy to receive Shaved Ice(2). Soon after that you'll come to a wider cavern. There will be an Event Trigger waiting, but before activating it follow the left side wall for a treasure chest. It has a Belt of Action, which you should immediately equip on Juto. Go into Movement mode, open the main menu (>), and select Equipment. Juto currently has a Wooden Sword (Attack +5) and a Bronze Knuckleguard (Defense +1) equipped. Underneath those, however, are two empty slots. These are for Accessories. Equip the Belt of Action in either of those slots to get Stamina +5. Now activate the Event Trigger. Head up the staircase to find a pillar. Use it to save your game, then head through the doorway to find Melissa, and your first boss. ---------- Boss Battle ---------- Guardian Amon Tactics: You can't actually win this fight, so just attack Amon however you like. Juto will eventually lose all his health, and then a cutscene will occur. Enjoy! ---------- After a large amount of dialogue, Juto will be controllable once again. He'll be at the viewing platform from the beginning of the game, with an Event Trigger waiting at Highwind Island Shore. Head up the wooden ramps to the highest point, and open the treasure chest there for a Healing Leaf(1). Now head back down towards the event trigger, ignoring the green exclamation marks. We'll come back to them in a little bit. At the shore there will be an interaction between Juto and Zephie. It's somewhat short, a little creepy, and generally doesn't tell us much about anything. When it's done, head up towards the barricade. Melissa is there with another Required Quest. Juto will also get a replacement Wooden Sword, which means he can do regular damage against enemies. Melissa needs Gunpowder Grass for Molotov Cocktails. This is your second Required Quest. There will be a Tutorial about how to Harvest the stalks. Pay attention, and then wander around Highwind Island Shore to find the stalks. You can press (Y) while looking at the quest details to see a picture of the stalks you need. It should only take one or two tries for you to get a hang of the rhythm, and there is no urgency. There are three stalks of Gunpowder Grass nearby, but you'll have to go to the other side of the barricade to get the fourth. When done, talk to Melissa again. All that's left now is some exploration of Highwind Island village (finally!). We'll get some treasure chests, as well as start some Optional Quests. Just make sure that you don't go to the house with the Event Trigger. Entering the village from the lift in the south, you can head to the right to find the merchant. Buy or sell things if you want, but nothing here is required. The key thing to do is find the chest behind him, slightly to the north. In it is 100 SID. Head back where you came from, where the map shows three green exclamation marks. Use the northern entrance to find a chest with 150 SID. Now go talk to the three people with quests. ---------- Sidequests ---------- *Quests will organize themselves with the most recently activated at the top of the list in your information sub-menu. If you activate them in a different order than what I've listed here, they'll show up in that different order. I've numbered them according to when you will start them if you follow this guide, and I'll make sure you get them all. 1) There is a man standing around north of the hospital named Heingel. He'll give you the quest "Deliver the Tools". 2) Enter the Makeshift Hopsital, and approach Healer. She'll give you the quest "Acquire Medicine Ingredients". 3) The girl standing outside the hospital is Liana, and she will give you the quest "Deliver the Boxed Lunches". 4) After successfully delivering the lunches, talk to Haman again and he'll start you on the quest "Obtain Hard Horns". ---------- You can do those quests, and you can also return to the Windsong Caverns, if you'd like. You can use the caverns to level Juto up if you'd like, but more importantly, there is a treasure chest. It's located all the way at the back, where you fought Guardian Amon, which is a hassle, but it holds an Amulet of Power. This will increase Juto's attack by 8, which is more than worth the trip through the caverns. Just don't try to kill all the Barnacles, unless you want to burn through your healing items. Now that you're done in the caverns, and now that you've completed those quests, head to the Event Trigger on the map, which is in the chief's house. Choose to take a break when you're ready to progress with the story. If you haven't completed all the quests, you'll get a message from the game telling you which ones will become impossible to complete. If you're an Achievement Hunter like myself, you'll turn around and go complete those. They don't just become impossible to complete; they disappear from your Quest Journal entirely. If you don't care, then click (X) to continue anyway. So as you can see, Juto is starting to show some backbone. Good for him! Melissa will give you Bandage(3), Molotov cocktails(4) and Trap(3). You'll be using these very soon, but don't worry about them quite yet. You'll gain control in the village, so follow the red arrows to your destination. The merchant has moved in closer if you want to buy some healing items. You won't have to do all that much on the walk to the shore, so enjoy the peace and quiet while you can. You'll run into Zephie and Argo at the beach, and some dialogue. You'll get Lozenge(3). Jeez, what a whimp. Anyway, you'll get them both back as guests, and then there'll be a pretty cool cut scene. You'll get introduced to some of the Northern Forces siege weapons, the Death Ballistas, and then Zephie and Argo will talk some more. Melissa will teach you about how to change items/skills in the middle of battle, and then you'll be tasked with giving Bandages to wounded soldiers. This is pretty lame, but it gets you used to changing things up. It's good, honestly. You'll also learn about setting traps, and how to use Molotov Cocktails during battle. When you get control, there will be a timer counting down from two minutes, and you'll see three arrows pointing into the ground; these are the locations of the traps. There will also be three soldiers crouched over. They are wounded, and need bandages. When you've taken care of those six things, the next part of the battle will begin. Juto won't really be able to do a whole lot during this battle, but Zephie will continuously heal, so go ahead and have fun. You can use the Molotov Cocktails if you want. Or don't. It really doesn't matter, one way or the other. I say use them now, and get them out of your inventory. You'll also start to see (B) show up on your screen while fighting some enemies. This is Juto's Counter ability, and when you press (B) on time, Juto will *gasp!* counter their attack, breaking their weapon. This is a good way to lessen their attack, which keeps your characters alive longer. Oh no! Crazy guy with even crazier hair! This guy is Elgar, and serves as your first mini-boss. Well, he would if it weren't for the fact that after thirty or so seconds, a cut scene activates, and some scary shit goes down. Basically, Juto's balls finally drop, and he gets the weapon Melissa's Sword. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Juto 1/20 ---------- Elgar will kick your ass. Just saying. Another dialogue scene will pop up, and you'll end up in Azurebell Forest. Man, I really hate this 'no spoilers in the walkthrough' thing I'm doing. Make your way east, taking the southern fork to find a treasure chest with a Belt of Swiftness. Follow the path, and the event trigger, to the coast. I recommend fighting as many enemies as you can to get to level 8. Juto should be at level 7 if you've only done the bare minimum, but if you've taken the time to level grind a little bit, you should be at level 8 already, if not higher. Use the Save Pillar if you want, then actually head to the beach. ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 10G - Battle of Highwind Island Completed the battle of Highwind Island. ---------- 2/46A 15/1240G ---------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2 - Oldfox Canyon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright, we're on a bit of a roll here. Cut scene, a giant map, and then we're in Abazet! Cut scene again. You'll meet Count Alex, and see what happens when you act like a child. Zephie and Argo will leave the party, and Juto will wake up in a strange building. Head to the left to find a chest with Revive Capsule(3). Head out the door and follow the staircase down. The guard will tell you where you are, and then you can head down to the main floor. Juto will join the Southern Forces, and you'll get to meet Crocell, the fire mage. Cocky little prick. Zephie, Argo, and Crocell join the party. They're actual party members, not guests, which means you'll be able to control any of them at any time, as long as they're part of the main party. You can only take three people at one time, but you can switch them out for any backup party member at will. That'll be useful if characters start dying and you'd rather not waste a revive item. To change characters, bring up the main menu and pick the Formation sub-menu. At this screen, select any two characters to switch their positions. For now, switch Argo with Crocell. All three of them are at level 8, which is why I suggested you level up Juto earlier. Don't worry if you're not, though; the level difference won't affect anything. ---------- DLC Note: If you have the DLC "Bonus Pack" you can take this opportunity to equip Zephie, Argo, and Crocell with their best weapons. This has two effects: 1) it makes battles easier, and 2) it makes Chain Breaks harder to attain. There will be a tutorial for these coming up, but I suggest holding off for now. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Zephie 1/17 Weapon Collector: Argo 1/19 Weapon Collector: Crocell 1/17 ---------- There's an event trigger immediately outside the city of Abazet, but before you go... ---------- Sidequests ---------- 5) Talk to Yi-em outside the Southern Forces base. She will give you the quest "To the Kamond Mine". ---------- Also, if you enter the house in the middle of the area directly inside the city gates, you can find a chest with a Revive Caspule inside. Neat, huh? Leave town now. Save at the Pillar, then walk forward for the [Cube] and [Cube Mail] tutorials. You can choose whether or not to view the Party Combat tutorial, but like every other tutorial in every other game, if you haven't played before, go through it. Even if you have played the game before, you may remember something you didn't know you'd forgotten. The Party Combat tutorial also serves to talk about the Battle Menu, which I purposefully ignored earlier on because of this point right here. The game will explain it all better than I could, anyway. Chains will be explained, as well as Chain Breaks, that thing I mentioned a few minutes ago. There are three Achievements relating to Chain Breaks, which is why I recommended not equiping your DLC weapons just yet. Watch it all, and then get ready to fight the Claw Beast while utilizing the techniques that you've been taught. Oh right. Attribute and Strength Kan. Basically, Juto and Argo can store up Kan so that they can use abilities whenever. Zephie and Crocell (as well as the remaining members of your party) all use Attribute Kan, which will fade away over time. They are much harder to use in battle, as they must generate and use their Kan at a faster pace. You'll have to actually defeat the Claw Beast at the end of the tutorial, but he'll go down in a few hits. You'll get Cube-mail with a summary of all you've just learned, which you can check through the Information menu or by pressing (B) while traveling. Now you can go about finding those Werewolves. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 6) Talk to Southern Soldier just north of the Abazet city gates to get the quest "Poison Worms!". The soldier will give you Antidote(5) as well. 7) At the Kamond mine, one Southern Forces soldier will give you the quest "Hit It a Little Bit!". 8) At the Kamond mine, one Southern Forces soldier will give you the quest "Generate Fire Kan". 9) At the Kamond Mine, one Guild Staff member will give you the quest "Rescue the Hostage!". 10) At the Kamond Mine, one Guild Staff member will give you the quest "Do a Soul Extraction". ---------- Feel like exploring? Because that's what we're going to do. Pull up your map for a second. We'll be heading in a clockwise motion from Abazet, gathering up the few treasure chests scattered around Abazet Field. Make your way to the Kamond Mine first to get a treasure chest next to the pillar with a Resistance LV1 Kamond inside. Four of the quests (mentioned above) are available here as well. If you've been completing all quests so far, you'll get an Achievement while completing these. ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 5G - 10 Quests Cleared Cleared 10 Quests. ---------- 3/46A 20/1240 ---------- ---------- As a nice little side note regarding the three Chain Break Achievements; there is absolutely no reason why you can't get these all throughout normal play. There are people on the internet who insist that you need to grind it out, but I had all 500 required Chain Breaks done three quarters of the way through the story. If you do insist on grinding it out as much as possible, Phongs are a great place to start. Take Zephie out of the party so that she doesn't inflict Vertigo, and practice your Chain Breaks between Juto, Crocell, and Argo. They'll all only do 1 damage with each attack, so you can get a pretty decent chunk out of the 500 you'll need. But again, grinding is by no means necessary. ---------- From here, head west to the Wild Forest (skipping the Werewolves' Hideout for now). Near the top right, you'll find a treasure chest with Stamina LV1 and Stamina Recovery LV 1 Kamonds. Now you want to head to the top of Abazet field, and focus on that little piece of land that juts out to the north on the map. In that little area is the third chest, with a Belt of Courage inside. We're also going to ignore Abazet Port for now, as we'll come there later on as part of the story anyway. It's time to head to the Werewolves' Hideout. Save at the Pillar out front before heading in. There will be a nice little scene for you, and it hints as to Juto's past. You were watching carefully, right? The Werewolf Thief's in here are a whole level higher than the ones you might have run into back in Abazet Field, but they're still easy to take out, especially if you've become proficient in Chain Breaks. You'll have to weed your way through about a dozen of them to get to the boss, but that's a good thing. The last thing you need is stragglers attacking you while you're focusing on the boss. So make sure you take them all out. The Werewolf Boss itself isn't really that hard. He just has a lot of HP. Whittle him down with Chain Breaks between Juto/Argo and Crocell, keeping Zephie around to heal. The boss has one heavy hitting attack that he uses in the same was as your techniques, but it should only do around 100~125 damage, so don't worry. Zephie's Healing Wind restores around 400 HP, to put it in perspective. Just keep attacking, and he'll go down easily enough. ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 5G - Otained Item Recipe Obtained an item recipe. ---------- 4/46A 25/1240G ---------- Yeah, random Achievement, I know. You get an item recipe for defeating this guy, called Snow Crystal. There are 12 of these recipes in all, and there are three Achievements relating to them. You have the first one. Good for you! Juto will get a costume change in the next set of dialogue/cut scenes. He'll also get a better weapon. One that, frankly, looks like the stupidest sword you've probably ever seen. Just wait, they get worse. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Juto 2/20 ---------- There is a treasure chest here in camp with a Cure Leaf(2) that you should grab. The Werewolves are all gone, and replacing them are more Claw Beasts. Kill them if you want, but your next objective is to return to Abazet. There's an Event Trigger waiting for you, but if you feel like having a little bit of fun, make your way over to the group milling about just south of the Abazet gate. You can talk to the bird-guy to play a minigame with Argo: Whack-a-Phong. Play it if you want; there's nothing even remotely interesting about it, and you won't get anything towards your completion percentage, but it's up to you. Suffice it to say that there will be nothing in this guide about it. So, that Event Trigger was pointless. Zephie is gone, which means if you want to keep fighting you'll have to heal using items. Head into Abazet. The item merchant (the bag symbol on your mini-map) has some accessories, and some healing items, but that's not where you want to go. Go to the barracks to rest, and then watch some conversations. You'll get a required quest when you're done, and we'll grab some optional quests on our own. Head north into the part of Abazet you haven't explored yet. The red diamond on the minimap is a Kamond Merchant, and there's a chest right beside him with a Shaved Ice(3) inside. There's a sidequest in the vicinity as well. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 11) Talk to the Old City Man wandering Abazet to get the quest "An Old Man's Request". ---------- The east gate will take you to the main shopping district. There is another Kamond Merchant, as well as an accessory merchant and Pfiwine, the weapon merchant. He'll have a couple of weaons for you. While in the buying page, you can see in the bottom right who can equip the item you've selected. There is a Flame Sword for Juto, a Flower Bloom for Zephie, and the Leather Knuckle is for Crocell. Just don't buy the Leather Knuckle; you'll get a free one soon. The thing about these weapons is that they are all from the secondary weapon/skill set for each character. (For those wondering, the Axe we'll get next for Argo makes 4/4.) ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Juto 3/20 Weapon Collector: Zephie 2/17 ---------- As a heads-up, you need to keep all these weapons in your inventory until you have them all for each character to get the Achievements. If you sell any of them, you're screwed, and you have to start all over again. Don't say I didn't warn you. ---------- You can also upgrade Zephie and Argo's support items. This is generally recommended. Make sure to head into the big building in the middle of this area. It's the Merchant's Guild, and there's a treasure chest you can grab for 200 SID. You're done here (Or are you? Check your sidequests!) so head out of town to start the next mission. There are two soldiers outside the gates, but you can only talk to one of them. Do so to get Soldier's Axe. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Argo 2/19 ---------- You now get a tutorial on weapon type and styles. Here's what you need to know: Zephie can only heal when using a Rod type weapon. Also... ---------- Achievement Alert! ---------- Each character has two Achievements relating to their weapons styles and skills. Each weapon style has a skill tree, and you use SP to purchase new abilities, upgrade those abilities, and get increases to different stats. You get an Achievement for maxing out each of the two trees for all six playable characters. Here's the catch. It is impossible to legitimately max out both trees in the same playthrough. There are a few items you unlock that will increase the amount of SP you get upon leveling up, and these will help, but it's still not a sure thing. If you don't feel like playing through the game twice, there is one sure-fire way to get all 12 Achievments. You have to NOT SPEND ANY SP AT ALL. Then, when you have enough to max out a specific skill tree, save your game. Use all our SP to max out the skill tree, nab that Achievement, and then reload your save. That way you can use the SP to max out the other skill tree and continue playing if that's what you want. Now, as I'm sure you've realized, this means that you'll be playing through the majority of the game with one move per character, and missing out on all the stat upgrades. You're welcome to do this, as the game isn't really that hard anyway, but it adds strain that you really don't need. Again, it is completely up to you how you go about doing this. I'm on my second playthrough of the game while writing this guide, so I already have one of each of the Achievements. I have noted in the guide when you have enough SP to max out each of the skill trees without using SP-enhancing items, if that helps. ---------- I know I skipped over a lot of the tutorial, but they give you a tutorial for a reason. Also, you can review tutorials at any time from the menu. So there. Equip the Soldier's Axe on Argo, and then head north to Abazet Port. It's that place we skipped when exploring earlier, remember? You'll also want to put Argo in your party if he's not already there, and make him the leader. ---------- Sidequest ---------- 12) While in Abazet Field, find and talk to Apprentice Tanner to get the quest "The Apprentice Tanner". Yeah, real original. ---------- ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Crocell 2/17 ---------- This will only count if you actually do the quest "The Apprentice Tanner". If you choose not to do this, then go back to Abazet and buy this weapon RIGHT NOW. Like I mentioned earlier, you need to have all weapons in your inventory at the same time to get the Achievment. This is the last time I'll warn you. ---------- You'll see three Mighty Lappers in the road ahead of you. Use Argo's Punch field action to wake them up, then use Armor Break (it works just like Juto's Counter or Zephie's Soul Extraction) to make it real easy to kill them. Kill all three to satisfy the first part of the job, then continue heading north to Abazet port. You can now reformat your party, if you'd like. Argo's done his job. You may also note at some point soon that when you level up you gain SP. You've been gaining it this entire time, it's just been hidden until this point in the game so that you don't get overwhelmed with stats right at the beginning. Like your regular stat upgrades, these numbers are pre-determined per level, so there's no use saving right before leveling up and reloading your save until you get a better number. Just deal with it. Once in Abazet Port, find the Nekoneko Leader (he's the Event Trigger) and talk to him to get the Bomb Box. You can now return to the soldier you got the Axe from to finish this Required Quest. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 13) Talk to one of the Nekonekos in Abazet Port to get the quest "Endless Battle...". 14) Talk to one of the Nekonekos in Abazet Port to get the quest "Nekoneko Pride". ---------- Head to headquarters for the meeting that the soldier told you about. The Event Trigger will guide you. Don't forget to go to Alex's Room, at the top right. You'll get 1000 SID from the treasure chest in there. Blah, blah, blah. Some plot development, and then an Enhancement Tutorial. Go through it, and then enhance whatever weapon each character is wielding. Trust me, you'll want to do this. ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 5G - Weapon Enhanced Used Enhancements on a weapon. ---------- 5/46A 30/1240G ---------- Didn't see that coming, did you? What? You checked the Achievement list before playing the game? Oh. Well, finish up with all four characters, and then head out to the Southern Forces Karma. This will take you to Oldfox Canyon, the final step of Part 2. You'll get a cube mail about the Fever Condition. Crocell is immune, so keep him in the party at all times. You should have an accessory or two that makes people immune to fever, so start equiping those now. Immediately head forward and save. There's a sidequest right here as well. Also, if you are doing the side quest "An Old Man's Request", make sure you do this fast. You're on a time limit. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 15) A soldier by the save point gives you the quest "Destroy the Obstacle". 16) If you successfully complete "An Old Man's Request" you can talk to Hwan to receive the quest "Hwan's Request". ---------- This next part is actually pretty easy. Just saunter along towards the Event Trigger. You'll fight wizards and knights, but they are just leveled up versions of enemies you've already faced. You'll also run into spawn points, which are tents. You can wait outside them to level grind, or you can attack them to stop the enemeis from spawning. Either way, take out the enemies as you find them, until you reach the Gate of Wailing. You'll get two Cube mails right away detailing how to breach this gate. Watch for large red circles appearing on the ground. That's where the archers are aiming. The little red circles are where the bombs will land (approximately). Stay away from the front of the gate, though; spears will jut out and do relatively high damage to anyone standing too close. Juto can kick the bombs at the gate, which will lower it's barrier. You can then use anyone to attack the gate, although the extra Fire Kan generated by the bombs will let Crocell pretty much attack with Blazing Spear infinitely. The Wailing Gate will eventually go down, and you'll have access to the next part of the area. You'll find more Werewolves, but now they're accompanied by Gauntlet Boars. Take them out as you proceed down the path. The tent on your right has a treasure chest. Open it to get Shaved Ice(3). The tent on the left has a chest with Hotty Hot(2). A cube mail will show up right before the Event Trigger with a tip about defeating Sion Regral. Ignore it, and head forward. ---------- Mini-Boss Battle ---------- Sion Regral Tactics: Sion Regral uses Wind Kan to attack, and he has two Ignis Wizards with him that will generate Wind Kan for him. You can do two things with this: either take out the wizards to stop the frequency of his attacks, or leave them so that Zephie can (for all intents and purposes) use unlimited healing spells. Sion Regral can do a fair amount of damage, so it is worth keeping Zephie healing, but the battle will go faster if you have all three team members fighting at once. Of course, if you're using DLC weapons, he'll go down in about ten seconds. :D ---------- Rewards: Amulet of Vital Force Attack LV2 Spirit LV2 ---------- There is a soldier nearby who will sell you some items. There's a pillar behind him, so use that, and then head west. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 17) A soldier west of where you defeated Sion Regral will give you the quest "Help the Wounded Soldiers". ---------- You'll run into more of the same enemies, so make sure you're working on those Chain Breaks. The path goes north a little bit before turning back to the south. At the end is an Event Trigger. Now we have a name for that black-haired chick we saw earlier: Claire. Take out the enemies that swarm you, as well as the barrack that is spawning them, to move on to the next Event Trigger. You'll now be chasing Claire, but before going any further, find the treasure chest behind the save point for 500 SID, and the one a little to the west for Cure Leaf(2) and Stamina Seed(2), then chase after Claire. There's no way you didn't see this next part coming. Prepare for battle. ---------- Boss Battle ---------- Astaroth Tactics: Wail on him for a few minutes until his main body breaks apart. You'll now be able to target his two hands. Take them out one after the other. This is a great time to work on Chain Breaks, by the way. Once one hand is gone you can target his chest again, but I advise taking out the other hand first. Then you can pound on his chest without him doing too much damage to you. Oh, yeah. Astaroth has this thing where he zaps one of your party with fire, and then regenerates health. If you're any good at Chain Breaks, a basic Skyward Hammer/Blazing Spears set will do more damage than he can heal, which means you won't have to worry too much about his gaining back his health. Just keep hurting him and eventually he'll go down. ---------- Rewards: Counterattack Gauntlet Pauldron of Wind Amulet of Power ---------- ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 20G - Battle of Oldfox Canyon Completed the battle of Oldfox Canyon. ---------- 6/46A 50/1240G ---------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 3 - Cota Mare -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the Counter-Sentinel Unit finally defeated a Northern Forces Sentinel. Now what? They can't return home, so they head into Cota Mare. Juto will get an introduction to Doomseeds, and we'll realize that both Zephie and Crocell are now useless. You'll want to make Juto and Argo the mainstays of your party right now. If you have a Knuckle weapon for Crocell, keep him in your party as well. There's a pillar right beside you to start, as well as two Avis Merchants to your left. One of them starts you on a small quest line. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 18) The first quest from the Avis Merchant is "Give Me Back My Goods!". 19) The second quest from the Avis Merchant is "An Eye for an Eye". 20) The third quest from the Avis Merchant is "A Tooth for a Tooth". 21) The fourth quest from the Avis Merchant is "Delivery to Cota Mare". ---------- From the Merchant's cart, head to the small area immediately south. At the end is a chest holding a Defense LV1(1) and an HP UP LV1(1). There's also a Mare Soldier fending off some creatures. Head to the Event Trigger. The Doomseeds stop, which mean you can re-arrange your party however you like. Zephie makes sense, as there is one environmental Wind Kan at all times. There are no Fire Kan, but now that there are no Doomseeds you can use his abilities whenever there is enough Kan. Your choice. Follow the path until you reach the next Event Trigger. As juvenile as this is...wow. Look at all the boob shots. Hit up the pillar when you have control, then follow the Mare to the Cheiftan into Cota Mare. Head to the right far enough and you'll see the icons for Kamond and Weapon Merchants. Go to them now. There are five weapons, and you'll want to buy one of each. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Juto 6/20 Weapon Collector: Zephie 3/17 Weapon Collector: Argo 3/19 Weapon Collector: Crocell 3/17 ---------- Now head to the Chief's house, which is an Event Marker on your map. There will be plenty of talking, which furthers the plot a little bit, and then you lose one party member, and gain a new one. Celestine comes equiped with some wierd thing called Iris, which is an Aroma Sprayer-type weapon. If you paid attention to the dialogue earlier, you'd understand. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Celestine 1/16 ---------- So no Zephie means no healing, right? Wrong! Celestine also has healing skills, but like Zephie, she can only use them when she has the Aroma Sprayer weapons equipped. Her other option is a Bow, which is pretty good, but again, no healing. Take your pick. The Event Trigger is at the very bottom of Cota Mare, and you'll have to activate a vine to progress. In the Undersea Tunnel, I highly recommend your party be Juto, Celestine, and Argo. Most of the enemies here will resist Crocell's fire attacks, and there is no environmental Fire Kan here, so you're better off with the brute strength given by Juto and Argo. Celestine will heal with her Aroma skills. In fact, the two environmental Water Kan in the Undersea Tunnel mean that healing is essentially free for Celestine. So feel free to go all out on these monsters. Head forward, using the Pillar if you want, and then go to the Altar of the Mare. You'll meet Rutan, and learn a bit of Argo's backstory. A fight will begin after the conversation. ---------- Mini-Boss Battle ---------- Rutan Tactics: Take out the Fake Southern Army guys first, as they're pretty weak. Then you can concentrate on Rutan. He's just like Argo, so it'll take more than just a few hits to take him out. Use Chain Breaks wisely, and he'll go down soon enough. ---------- Rewards: Axe of Lightning ---------- ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Argo 4/19 ---------- You'll reappear in Cota Mare. Make sure you go back to the weapon merchant; you can buy the first of Celestine's bows now. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Celestine 2/16 ---------- Head to the Event Trigger to get Zephie back. While in the Chief's house make sure to grab the chest with an Earring of Genbu inside, and then head out. Celestine will leave the party for a while. Head to Celestine's house to get a Required Quest, "Energy Wonder Potion?", and a chest with a Revive Potion inside. Celestine needs a bunch of different things for this potion. You should already have an Antidote, but if you used it then you can get it from any merchant. The Mere spores will come from any Mere enemy in Navyblue Marsh, and you can get Mystery Mushrooms by harvesting the weird orange mushrooms that also surround Navyblue Marsh. ---------- Sidequests ---------- 22) Talk to the Mare Woman in the Chieftan's home to get the quest "Hi-yo, Junsti". 23) Talk to the Mare Woman by the entrance to Cota Mare for the quest "Navyblue Marsh Messengers". 24) While completing quest #22, you can talk to a Nekoneko for the quest "We Need Kamond Shards". 25) While completing quest #23, you will find an item that automatically starts the quest "Relay Operational Orders". 26) Near the exit back to Oldfox Canyon is a Mare Man who will give you the quest "Kill the Blaborers". 27) After completing quest #22, the Nekoneko you talk to will have another quest for you, "Delivery to Abazet Port". 28) After completing quest #25, Kiloty will give you the quest "Kill Nurance". ---------- Out in Navyblue Marsh, you'll need to find the aforementioned items, but we're also going to explore a little bit. First, head up to the Nekoneko Dwelling. In the back corner is a chest. Open it to get a Frostnip Defense. You should also do quest #24, which will give you the Cherry Blossom weapon for Zephie. North of the Nekoneko Dwelling is an area with a Pillar. Directly west from the Pillar is a chest that holds a CureLeaf(3). Now you'll want to head all the way back to the north, where you first entered Navyblue Marsh from Oldfox Canyon. We ignored a place up here before, the Refuge of Darkness. There's a chest in there with Crocell's next weapon, a Power Knuckle. ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Zephie 4/17 Weapon Collector: Crocell 4/17 ---------- As soon as you have all the components for Celestine's potion, an Event Trigger will show up on the map. If you've done all you want as far as Sidequests go, then head back to Cota Mare. Celestine will join your party (again) and you'll be ready to go. So the Northern Forces have attacked, and the Counter-Sentinel Unit is going to help. Head out to Navyblue Marsh, and go north to the Event Trigger. Kill all the Northern Forces troops while you're at it. The extra EXP is always worth it. The more SP you get the better your attacks will be. You may find yourself getting hit with frostbite. This is preventable by using Frostnip Defense Kamonds on your weapons, or by having Zephie cast Recovery to heal the condition when it's inflicted. ---------- Boss Battle ---------- Huaren Tactics: The Huaren fight will work very similarly to the battle against Astaroth. You can target any of four different parts, but you'll want to focus on his hand first so that his physical attacks get cut back. Then attack the Fragments of Happiness and Chaos, before finishing him off by attacking his body. Celestine is a beast at healing here, as the 2 environmental Water Kan give her endless healing. Juto and Argo can do some massive damage, while you can use either Crocell's Fireball attacks or Zephie's Fan attacks to deal some long range damage. Really, the only thing you need is Celestine as a healer. Honestly, I'd leave Crocell out of the party, as there is no environmental Fire Kan here. ---------- Rewards: Sword of Sunset ---------- ---------- DLC Achievement Progress ---------- Weapon Collector: Juto 6/20 ---------- ---------- Achievement Unlocked! ---------- 30G - Battle of Cota Mare Completed the battle of Cota Mare. ---------- 7/46A 80/1240 ---------- Now watch Juto be a badass. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 4 - Dunan Hill --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cota Mare is safe, but the way back to Abazet through Oldfox Canyon is blocked.
You'll have to find the secret passage through the Undersea Tunnel. There is
nothing new to do here in Cota Mare, so head to the tunnel as soon as you have
full control of your party.
Psych! Juto and Zephie get to spend some time alone. ;D You'll get Refreshing
Incense(5) to start you off while Argo, Crocell, and Celestine leave the party.
The incenses have locations marked off on the mini-map, so just walk around for
a while until you find them all. Really, there's no point writing it out for
you; if you can't do this on your own, you really need to rethink playing video
games.
Blah, blah, blah, character development, blah, blah, blah. You'll warp to the
Undersea Tunnel with some colored incense. Head through the tunnel until you
reach the place where you fought Rutan a while back. You need to put the
different colored incense in the right positions by researching each station.
Or you could cheat! From left to right, place them in this order:
Yellow, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Yellow
Puzzle solved! Head through the Gate of Ancient Spirit.
Head right at the first fork to get a Crystal of Life from the chest. Further
along, you'll find a weird nook to the north of the path. There's a hidden
chest here holding a Revive Potion. North at the next fork for a chest that
gives you 1000 SID. The only place left to go from here is the Event Marker.
Make sure you save!
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Gigantic Angler
Tactics:
A giant sea-snake with a head at both ends? Wow, that's original o.O Celestine
still has that infinite healing thing going on, so keep her around. Even though
Crocell has to work for all his Kan, he's still a great partner for Juto/Argo
as your main tank. Keep pelting him with Chain Breaks, switching between heads
as necessary. Really the only thing going for this guy is that he can switch
out heads in the middle of a Chain Break and ruin it for two characters, so
watch out for that. If you see him pulling out, STOP YOUR COMBO! Oh yeah, each
head has it's own health bar. Have fun with that.

Everything in Abazet Field has leveled up to match you, but there's no reason
why any of the creatures here should give you any problems. Head to Abazet the
city for now. Zephie does that thing where she buggers off, so head to the
barracks to rest. Zephie comes back! What a surprise!
Remember that Cube mail you got from the merchant's guild? Head there to get

----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Zerglone
Tactics:
Zerglone is a push-over, really. He acts just like Sion Regral did, except that
he uses fire where Sion Regral used wind. Chain Breaks will take out massive
chunks of his HP, and taking out his friends first mean he has less chances to
use skills.

35) Talk to Raud as soon as you arrive at Dunan Hill, and he'll start you on
the quest "Support the Troops".
36) Finish quest #34, and Aruth will start you on the quest "Deliver Ancient

----------
Crocell is perfect for the battles in this area, as the two environmental Fire
Kan let him use Blazing Spear effortlessly. Both Zephie and Celestine have one
of their respective kan, so you can use either for healing, but only Zephie can
heal conditions, so she's the better choice.
There's lots of fire in this area, including the fever-inducing shot from an
unseen catapult. Take out the enemies in this area as you head for Checkpoint
1, making sure to grab the chest immediately south of the checkpoint to get a
Defense LV2.
That arrow attack from the Gate of Wailing makes a return here, so keep an eye
on the ground around where you stand. Even though the arrows only do 1 damage,
it adds up very fast. Keep moving, taking out the wizards first so that they
can't induce fever. You'll get a Lion Pauldron for beating the enemies here.
Look around Checkpoint 1 for a chest with a Heal Flower(3), and another holding
a Fire Kan Crystal, a Water Kan Crystal, and a Wind Kan Crystal. One of the
soldiers guarding the pillar will sell you items if you need some.
Head west, grabbing the chest immediately to your left after heading through
the barricade. It give you 1500 SID. As you progress you'll get a letter about
Vecas, the next big enemy you'll fight. There is a chest a little more than
halfway to Checkpoint 2, and it holds a Stamina Seed(2). You can now head into
Checkpoint 2.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Vecas
Tactics:
As you learned in the letter from Raud, prepare for Poison. Also, Celestine's
attacks will do very well against Vecas. I recommend having Zephie in the party
for healing, while you control Celestine to make sure she's attacking. Bring
whoever you want for the other two party members, just make sure that you've
equipped as many anti-poison accessories as you have. Vecas also has two fire
wizards with him, so try and take them out as well.

there. Head back, save, and then proceed to Darkblade Fortress.

37) A guard by Checkpoint 2 will give you the quest "Kill the Colossus".

Flower(2) in a chest. Now head all the way to Darkblade Fortress.

Melissa
Tactics:
Didn't see that coming, did you? Melissa works similarly to Juto, really. A few
multi-hit combos, maybe a skill or two, oh and she inflicts Vertigo, which
makes it harder to hit her. She'll go down relatively easy, though. And then...
----------
Leviathan
Tactics:
This guy is an absolute beast. He hits hard and fast, and moves around the
battlefield a lot. This was one of two boss battles that I had trouble with in
the entire game. Wail into him for a while, and his health bar will deplete
fairly fast. The sad thing is, once you get rid of all his health, he'll
regenerate all of his health and activate those three pillars surrounding the
area. One heals him, one increases his defense, and the other inflicts poison
on the group. Find the one that heals him, and take it out first. You can
probably ignore the other two for the rest of the fight. If he ever
regenerates it, though, take it out again, because when all three are active,
he can use a larger special attack that targets all three of your party members
for massive damage. You may have to restart this battle once or twice. The
alternative is equipping the DLC weapons, if you have them.

----------
Head to that giant gate in Abazet Field that I never mentioned at any point.
This will lead you to the Wasteland of Silence. There's a small area north-west
of the pillar that hides a treasure chest. Open it for a Freezing Fragment(3)
and a Squall Fragment(2). There's a chest north of the entrance to the Cave of
the Lati tribe that holds a Cure Capsule, and a chest on top of Chieftan's Hill
that holds an Attack LV2 Kamond. Around the back of Chieftan's Hill, just north
of the entrance to Oldfox Canyon, is another chest with 2000 SID inside. The
last chest is at the southern-most point of the Wasteland of Silence, behind
all the Northern Forces units. It holds a Stamina LV2 and Agility LV2 Kamonds.
Now that the exploration is done, head back to the Lati cave. At the very back
is Liti, who doesn't even serve as a mini-boss. She'll drop The Redeen's
Fireball for Crocell when she dies, as well as a Crystal of Life. Really the
only annoying thing about Liti is that it runs away a lot. Chain Breaks are, as
always, a good thing to use. You can grab a Spirit LV2 from the chest in this
area as well. You can't actually go any deeper into the cave at this point, so

----------
Talk to the Port Manager at Abazet Port when you are ready to return to
Highwind Island.
The great thing about this part of the game is that it opens you up to the
different characters a little more than perhaps you are used to. It also helps
to illustrate the different types each character can fill: Tank, Healer, and
Striker.
Tanks are Juto and Argo. They store their Kan indefinitely, and dish out the
most damage while taking it all as well.
Healers are Zephie and Celestine. This should be self-explanatory.
Strikers are Crocell and Rue. They hit fast, which makes up for somewhat lower
damage. From here on out, it is good to always be using one character from each
type to make sure that you have an even team.
You start out with Zephie/Crocell/Argo. You need to eradicate all enemies on
the shore so help out the resistance on the island.
----------
Sidequests
----------
47) One of the Island Guard will ask you to "Destroy the Seige Weapons".
----------
Unfortunately for you, the wizards you will be fighting use Wind Kan, which
means anything Zephie conjurs can be used by the enemy as well. Take out the
enemy wizards first if you plan on letting Argo and Crocell get hurt a lot.
----------
Achievement Alert!
----------
This is the second really good place to grind out Chain Breaks. The Death
Ballistas only take 1 damage if you haven't destroyed the barriers, so you can
quite easily get all 500 you need right now. Like I said before, you can get
all three Achievements throughout the course of the game by playing naturally,
but this is a good place to do a little bit of grinding if you'd like.
----------
There are 4 Death Ballistas on the shore. You have to defeat them all. So, if
you haven't already, start quest #47, as it is for all intents and purposes a
Required Quest. Use Argo's Punch field action to break the three barrier
devices surrounding each ballista, then chain break them into pieces. Argo's
Hammer Break skill does wonders here. You'll get a Fighter's Will Kamond once
the fourth and final ballista is destroyed. With the shore now safe, you'll get
to see how Juto's team is doing.
There's a supplier right in front of you, and a little ways beyond him is that
pillar we used so long ago. You'll want to save, methinks.

49) An islander will give you the quest "Hunt the Fleeing Soldiers" while Juto,
Zephie, and Rue are heading to Windsong Caverns.
----------
It doesn't take long to go through the Windsong Caverns collecting belongings.
Take a right at the first fork for 1/5. There are 9 Northern Forces soldiers
spread out along the path, but they soon make way for normal enemies and the
next two belongings. Head up the stairs for 4/5, and then make your way to the
place you first fought alongside Melissa, versus Guardian Amon. Don't forget to
save!

Boss Battle
----------
Belial
Tactics:
Much like Leviathan before, this guy gets two health bars. Having said that,
Belial is nowhere near as difficult. He still runs around a little bit too
much, but he doesn't have any extra help from pillars, etc. Juto and Rue do
great amounts of damage, especially when paired up for Chain Breaks. Zephie
should concentrate on healing the entire time.

----------
50) Schneider of the Merchant's Guild gives you the quest "Defeat the Lati
Boss!"
51) The Monster Scholar gives you the quest "Lati, Candle in the Wind?"
----------
Head out into Abazet Field and make Rue the leader. There are no environmental
Lightning Kan in this area, so whenever you see that Rue has 2 Lightning Kan
stored, go back to Movement Mode with )LT| and use one of the Lightning Bomb
Boxes with (X). Use all five boxes, and then return to Pfiwine in the city.
If you accepted the quests already, then you can head into the Wasteland of
Silence and venture further into the Cave of the Lati Tribe than you have
before. There's a chest with 3000 SID if you're interested, about halfway
through.
At this point, go to the barracks to sleep, and then you'll have the option to
proceed with the story. Do so, as there's nothing left to do in this area unless
you haven't done those two optional quests yet.
Oh, right. Juto and Zephie learn Imperial Blade, the first co-op technique.

Don't you just love it when you get Achievements for doing absolutely nothing? I
do!
Anyways, head to Darkblade Fortress via Southern Forces Karma now.
You'll get some interesting plot development, and then some lame character
development. I mean, this whole quest line has great potential, but as with
most everything with this game, I find it was done quite poorly.
----------
Sidequests
----------
52) As soon as you arrive at Darkblade Fortress, you'll get a Cube mail that
becomes "Celestine's Letter".
53) Find Raud outside of Darkblade Fortress to get the quest "Alex's Letter".
----------
There isn't anything of interest around the fortress, so follow the Event
Trigger for a while. You'll end up in Dunan Hill, officially. There's one chest
about two fifths of the way through that holds Stamina Seed(2), and the fortress
at the half-way point hides a chest with a Kan Control(1) inside, but that's all
you have to look forward to as far as loot goes. The Colossus will give you the
most trouble, but even then, it's no hard foe. The Dunan Field exit to the east
is your destination, but the exit to the north leads to Cota Mare. There's a
chest hidden behind some rocks by the exit to Cota Mare; open it for a Cure-all.
----------
Sidequests
----------
54) Turn in quest #52 and talk to Keitin again to receive the quest "Celestine
Comes of Age!"
55) Nestin, who is in the town square of Cota Mare, gives you the quest "Rite
of Nature" if you've already accepted quest #54.
56) Switin, who is near the merchants in Cota Mare, gives you the quest "Rite
of Incense" if you've already accepted quest #54.
57) Kiloty, who is near the entrance to Cota Mare, gives you the quest "Rite of
Strength" if you've already accepted quest #54.
----------
Welcome to Dunan Field! You're supposed to head straight to the east to continue
the story, but let's explore for a while, shall we?
Head south past the way to Ruhalt Basin, and take a left towards Reinpolt Ruins.
There is a treasure chest in one of the burned houses in the westernmost part of
the ruins, and it holds one Stun Defense kamond.
The Cave of the Hermit and the Ancient Tomb are both empty of chests, but if you
head towards the Thieves' Haven you can get a Turbulent Times Gauntlet for Argo
in the chest at the very end.
Follow the path north into the Dunan Rest Area, grabbing the chest just south of
the save point for a Kan Reward, then circle back around to Lanoara Lake. There
is a chest right at the bottom of that first hill with an Attack LV3 inside.
Where to now? That little strip of land heading towards Ruhalt Basin. There's a
chest along the north wall holding an Agility LV (3), and a bunch of Wereboars.
That's all there is here, so head on east to Ruhalt Basin.
----------
Sidequests
----------
58) Talk to the Traveler as soon as you arrive in Dunan Field to receive the
quest "Escort the Traveler".
59) After escorting the traveler, talk to her again to receive the quest
"Lanoara Lake Monster".
60) Inside a building at the Dunan Rest Area is the Rest Area Boss. Speak with
him for the quest "Hi-yo Assistant".
61) Inside a building at the Dunan Rest Area is the Boss's Son. Speak with him
for the quest "Dunan Field's Seeds of Suffering".
62) After completing quest #61, speak with Boss's Son again for this quest,
"Dunan Field's Seeds of Suffering (2)".
63) The assistant from quest #60 will give you the quest "The Assistant's Lost
Item".
64) Upon completing quest #63, you'll get this quest, "Vaizen's Whereabouts"
automatically.
65) After killing the monster at Lanoara Lake (quest #59), Research the altar to
summon the Royal Spirit, who gives you the quest "Get the Marks of Royalty".
66) Speak with Keitin in Cota Mare after completing quest #65 to obtain the
quest "Mark of Royalty 1: Water".
67) Complete quest #66 and speak with the Water Spirit to receive the quest
"Mark of Royalty 2: Fire".
----------
There's a tutorial for Removing Kan Landmines. They don't really do all that
much damage, so I'm going to say ignore this, but it could be a fun distraction
while you progress through this area. You have to see these screens regardless,
so give them a read.
Ruhalt Basin is a lot like every other place you've ever been to; there is only
one path to take. Follow it along, killing enemies and destroying/dismantling
the Kan Landmines as you find them. Rue is immune to the effects of the wizards
in this area, so it's a good idea to keep her in your party.
----------
Sidequests
----------
At the top left of this first area you'll find a man named Malaccia lying on the
ground. You'll need to speak with him if you want a quest to activate later on.
----------
The first chest is in the little area at the top left of this first area. You
get a Kamond of Wind from it. Now head the rest of the way around.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Lecas
Tactics:
Take out his wizards first. The last thing you need is to have them paralyze
you, which makes it almost impossible to hit Lecas. Once the wizards are gone,
just pound on Lecas until he dies. Zephie and Celestine both have one
environmental kan, so they're are equally useful for healing.

Oh god. Igton. Say hello to the most annoying character in the entire f**king
game. He follows you around for the next little bit, though, which is the only
nice thing he ever does.
----------
DLC Achievement Alert
----------
This is technically the best time to watch the three Live Dramas that were
included in the DLC. You now have all the characters involved in the LD's in
your party (Igton included) so it makes sense. The scenes all occur in Abazet,
and by the time you get these characters together in Abazet throughout the
natural course of the game, enough changes that these scenes don't really fit.
So watch them now, if you'd like. Or later. Whatever.
----------
Head through the newly opened doorway, and go north for a chest with a Spirit
LV3 inside. Go south as far as you can, grabbing a Cure Capsule from the chest
at the end, and a Cure-all from the chest a short distance to the north. Follow
the path towards the bridge you just crossed over, stopping quickly for a chest
containing a Stamina LV3.
----------
Sidequests
----------
68) If you successfully complete quest #53, then the Yielding Soldier from that
quest will give you this quest, "Save Defecting Commander".
----------
A bit further on is a clearing. In it is one chest, and it gives you an Agility
LV3. When you get to the next fork, head right as there is nothing on the left
for you. From there head north.
----------

Melissa
Tactics:
Do you remember the first time you fought her? This battle is exactly the same.
Once she gets down to half health, there'll be some dialogue, and then...
----------
Boss Battle
----------
Asmodeus
Tactics:
You start off fighting his head, which whips around dealing damage. He has a
special attack where his wings whip air at all three party members, but it isn't
that much of a pain. After destroying the head, you can target Asmodeus Core, as
well as each of his legs. I recommend taking out one or both of the legs first,
as it will cause Asmodeus to fall over, exposing the true core: his tail. Attack
it as much as you can before he gets back up.

----------
Boss Battle
----------
Crazy Juto
Tactics:
You should know how Juto fights at this point. He uses the 1 Handed Sword
technique, so expect to see all the usual skills. Zephie is gone, too, which
leaves your party with only Celestine as your healer. Keep her in the party at
all times, as well as Argo, switching out Rue for Crocell and vice versa as
needed. Without Zephie's Resurrection skill (Rod) you'll rely on items if anyone
is killed. If you've equipped an Axe on Argo, then try and get an Armor Break
(B) as soon as you can. Argo's attacks went up 850% after getting it off. And
no, that's not an exaggeration. This battle ends the same way as the one with
Melissa; get him down to half health, and it's over.
----------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 6 - Belfort
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To get to Belfort, you'll need to go through Dunan Hill. In fact, the place
where you fought Melissa and Asmodeus is right in front of the entrance to
Belfort.
Except you can't! Southern Forces soldiers will stop you, there will be some
plot development, and then you'll fight. There are only five of them, and they
fight just like every other soldier you've fought. So just kill them already.
You'll get a Braveheart and a Demon Repeller when you're done.

Yes, that is Raud being awesome. Plot happens, and then you gain control. While
heading through Ruhalt Basin, you'll notice that the barricades have been taken
down. You can zip through the basin nice and quick, and move north into Belfort.
Don't forget to stop by the save point in that first clearing where you met
Igton. There's a chest there that gives you a Kan Blessing. There's also a
chest across from the save point that leads into Belfort, and it offers you a
Kan Reward, and a Demon Warding Key.
The first area in Belfort is called Starlight Field. You can see the gates to
the city nearby, and you'll get interrupted with plot. Again.

Remember Malaccia? If you talked to him before, you can head to the western part
of Starlight Field to find him surrounded by monsters. Kill them all, and then
talk to him. Again, you'll need to do this if you want to complete all the
quests.
----------
There's a watchtower to the west of the entrance to Starlight Fields; go to it
and open the chest at the base of the tower for a Freezing Fragment and a
Thunderhead Fragment. There's a second chest all the way on the eastern side of
the field. It holds a God's Eye inside.
Inside Belfort, Rue will give you some directions as to what you should be
doing. The guy you're looking for is northwest of where you are. However, you
want to head to the east first, and purchase some new weapons: Buster Saber,
Fist of the Giant, Moon Slicer, Shooting Star Fireball, Dragon Knuckle,
Sandalwood, Ice Flower Bow, and Strong Wind Shuriken. Also, grab the Steel
Kamond from the nearby chest.

69) Speak to City Woman inside the front gates of Belfort to receive the quest
"Shivering From the Cold".
70) There is a little Girl walking around near the merchants in Belfort who
gives you the quest "I'm so Hungry...".
71) A Southern Soldier near the merchants in Belfort gives you the quest "Be
Ready for Danger".
----------
Now head over to the Event Trigger, grabbing Defense LV3(2) from a chest along
the way. Speak with Cooks to get a Required Quest, "Acquire a Northern Cube".
Now that that's done, we can head into Belfort proper. As soon as you do, there
will be a scene regarding doomseeds. Once it's done, head left to grab the
chest in the corner. You get a Kamond of Regeneration. Head forward, killing
monsters if you think you can handle it. Juto and Argo are the only ones who can
use Kan, and so if you're working on Chain Breaks you'll have to do it between
the two of them.
There's another chest on the left in this straight area, holding a Kan Control.
The next area has a save point, which you can use to heal. So go ahead and kill
everything around here. There's a chest around the first corner on your left, so
open it for an Attack LV4 and a Spirit LV4. There's a second chest on the other
side of the cracked ground, so walk around the middle area (or through it, if
you'd rather) to get to it. A Water Kan Crystal is your reward.
There are two paths you can take from this central area. If you follow the path
north, and then go to the eastern point (in Belfort Ruins) you'll find a chest
with a Necklace of Experience inside. The area to the north has a chest along
the southern wall, and inside is a Spark Fragment and a Fire Kan Crystal.
----------
Sidequests
----------
72) If you walk up to the house in the north-eastern area, you'll begin this
quest, "The Reeden Forbidden Door".
73) After opening the door in the Reeden home, there will be a chest; after
reading the contents of a letter found within the chest, you'll start the quest
"A Father's Last Request".
----------
Head back to the Belfort Ruins area, and then take the northern exit. The first
group of enemies you'll run into will drop a Northern Cube when you defeat them,
which will end the Required Quest and start a second one, "Find the Scout,
Jeroha". You now have an Event Trigger to the west.
The first new area you come to while heading west towards Jeroha has a chest on
your left, and it gives you a Ring of Blue Dragon. Continue to take the west
exit, grabbing an Attack LV4 from the chest on the way.
The next area has a lot of Northern Forces Archers and Dark Trewa, but aside
from being a tad hard to hit, these guys shouldn't give you any trouble. The
burnt old house to the east hides a chest, but the Attack LV4 and Steel Kamond
are worth the trouble. Keep heading east to find Jeroha, and the battle that
takes place as soon as you do.

----------
The chest behind Jeroha has an Agility LV4 in it. Grab it, and then head to the
new Event Trigger, up in Belfort Castle. Stop by the Belfort Castle Walls area
to find a chest with a Kamond of Transformation inside. Then head towards the
Event Trigger, grabbing the Lightning Kan Crystal from the chest you see on the
way.
You'll get a quick letter scene on when to use the Whirlwind Bombs you got from
Jeroha. Use one on the outside pillars to get two items, and your last bomb on
the inside pillar to reveal the hidden passage into the castle. Remember, if
you miss or otherwise use up your bombs before unlocking the passage, you can
return to Jeroha to get more.
Enter the castle when you're ready.
Use the save point. Trust me, you don't want to have to redo the last hour.
Enter the Sentinel Laboratory when you're ready.
Make your way down to Laboratory 1. There is an Event Trigger in one of the
surrounding rooms. In order to get into the room, you have to complete an
optional quest:
----------
Sidequests
----------
75) In order to proceed with the main story, you must talk to City Old Man
through a door; he gives you the quest "The Weight of a Key".
----------
I honestly don't understand how they classify this as an optional quest. Anyway,
make your way down towards Laboratory 2. On the way you'll run into a Lab
Officer; he's the one you need to kill to get the card key. Return to the room,
and enter. You'll meet Nix, and you'll be able to start an actual Required
Quest, "Activate the Warp Device".
Nix will be following you for a while, so don't be worried if you see a Northern
Forces Healer that you can't kill. He's on your side. Head up into Lab 1, kill
the guys that attack you, and open the chest in the back of the lab for a
Topaz, which you should immediately equip to Crocell.
Now head down to the middle of the three extra rooms surrounding Lab 1. There's
a chest in here, too, and it holds a Kamond of Passion.
----------
Sidequests
----------
76) Balfour is tied up in this room; untie him and speak with him to get the
quest "Emergency Rescue".
77) Speak with Balfour again after saving his wife to receive the quest
"Northern Forces Valables".
----------
The third room surrounding Lab 1 also has a chest. Open it to get a Steel
Kamond. Now you can head down towards Laboratory 2.
Go up the stairs and enter Lab 2. Defeat the three Abhorrences, and then open
the chest calls Nix's Storage Box for the Power Generator Key you need. Leave
the room and talk to Nix to finish the quest and start a new one, "Activate
Power Generator".
Head down to Laboratory 3, and actually go into Lab 3. Yay for plot? There are
a few treasure chests in here, so open them all to get a Kan Miracle, a Demon
Morality Key, a Frostbite Defense, and a Rod of Mystery. Leave through the
opposite door, and head towards Laboratory 4.
----------
Sidequests
----------
78) As Celestine, investigate the Recorder in Lab 3 to turn in quest #74, and
beging the quest "The Sad Truth".
79) After leaving Laboratory 3, you will get a Cube mail that results in the
quest, "A Sentinel Grudge Match?"

Required Quest complete!
There's now an Event Trigger, so head towards it. Save, and then head through
the Warp Device. Zephie is ahead and to the right, just a little bit. You'll
see her standing with Schuenzeit and Elgar.
----------
Boss Battle
----------
Elgar & Beelzebub Half
Tactics:
This is certainly an interesting fight. Elgar is very hard to hit, and when you
do, he doesn't take nearly enough damage. Beelzebub Half, on the other hand,
should give you no trouble at all. In fact, BH will go down in a fifth of the
time Elgar will take you. The real challenge is executing your Chain Breaks
before Elgar has a chance to use his Skills on you. He has this nasty habit of
inflicting stun, and maxing your stamina bar into Overheat. But perseverence is
the key here. He's not as difficult as you'd think, and I still maintain that
Leviathan and Crazy Juto are harder battles than this.
----------
Rewards:
Crimson Earring
Attack LV4
Frostbite Defense
----------
Use the Warp Device directly in front of you to leave this place. You'll spawn
up by Laboratory 2, so head west to the exit that leads out to Belfort. Nix will
be waiting for you there, although he won't give you any useful information. For
now, head back to the Belfort Southern Forces Army Outpost.
When you get here, Rue will leave the party. Sound familiar? Head over to Cooks
in the west area for now, but talk to City Old Man first. You'll be able to take
a well-earned rest.
Some plot will be revealed, which you may or may not have deduced on your own by
now, and then Rue will return to the party. You'll appear in that one area of
Belfort we haven't been to yet, and some more plot will unfold.
Now we fight! There's one chest directly west of the save point, and a level
down. It holds an Attack LV5 Kamond, which is incredibly useful. Equip it now.
Take out what you can while heading around to the left where some
stairs are. You'll run into a cutscene, which I have to admit is pretty
lackluster, considering the quality so far.
Zephie will return to the party at the same level as your lowest member. In my
case it was level 54 (although my Juto was level 57). Remember to upgrade her
skills.
Use the nearby save point, and then fight your way back to the Belfort Southern
Forces Army Outpost. For some reason (by which I mean you don't know why, but I
do because I've played the game through once before) Juto is taking ongoing
damage. Deal with it like you would a fever condition by having a healer in the
party at all times, but that should be standard practices for someone playing an
RPG.
You'll have to fight the Wall of Despair, but as the Cube mail you get from
Jeroha says, it's just like the Gate of Wailing. There's an absolutely insane
amount of Fire and Wind Kan here thanks to all the Northern Forces soldiers
using similar moves, so Crocell and Zephie become more useful than Juto.
Especially for healing.
In the next area, grab the Necklace of Sacrifice and then take out the second
Wall of Despair. You can kick the bombs back at it, if you want.
----------
Sidequests
----------
As you enter the following area, you'll run into Malaccia again, but only if
you've talked to him the previous two times. If he's not here...well I'm sorry
to say it, but you'll have to play through the entire game again if you want to
get all the Achievements. Unless you have a save from way back before Zephie
was kidnapped by Schuenzeit.

----------
Keep heading south, taking out soldiers, monsters, and Walls of Despair as you
go. I really don't think you need me to guide you through this place, as you've
been through it all at least three times already if you've been doing the
sidequests.
At the end of Belfort is Beelzebub Complete.
----------
Boss Battle
----------
Beelzebub Complete
Tactics:
There's nothing to this guy that you didn't see when he was only half a
creature, except that he hits a little harder, takes more hits, and has a hell
of a lot more HP. Zephie gets free healing from the 2 environmental Wind Kan,
so if you're using Juto, that's nice. Keep hammering away and he'll go down
like a sac of bricks. As great as Crocell and Rue are with the free Kan, I'd
choose Argo for your third in this fight. His attacks might be slower, but he
also hits like a badass. And if you've unlocked one of his ultimate attacks, and
you can chain it with Juto's Fatal Rush...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here we go, with the second to last section of the game. There's a lot to be
done here, including the last 25 or so quests, gathering 30-odd weapons, and
finishing up those pesky Skills charts.
You'll be in Cota Mare, and Juto will be out of commission. This is where you
get that convenient line about how it's just the right time of year to do the
insanely difficult and unheard-of thing you need to do.
Okay, now that I've written that, it doesn't sound anything like how I wanted it
to sound. Maybe I'll change it for a later update. Or not, who knows?
After the dialogue is done, you'll get an official Required Quest.
Head to the merchant area first, though, as there are some new weapons to be
purchased. You want to buy an Orchid, an Earthquaker, a Burning Ball, a Bow of

Now that Jopa has been defeated, the regular enemies from this area have spawned
again. Kill them as you head back to Cota Mare. Or more specifically, Navyblue
Marsh. Make sure you save before approaching Nix and Juto's body. This next bit
is kind of long.
You begin as Argo, with Celestine and Crocell. Isn't it handy how you get a
tank, a healer, and a striker? The Fear of Juto is your enemy, and there are a
bunch of them. Twelve in total, I believe it was. You'll get an Eye of Light
for killing them all.
Zephie and Rue are in Juto's mind, and they get a weird version of Juto to
accompany them. He has all the same equipment, stats, etc. as the regular Juto,
so feel free to change things. Walk forward and then go Deep Underground when
you get the chance.
You'll get to fight Highwind Island Juto at this point. I'd put him in a mini-
boss battle window, but frankly, he's not worth it. He knows Skyward Hammer,
and that's about all you have to worry about. Another warp to Deep Underground
appears, so use it.
You'll reappear outside Juto's body in control of Argo again. Take out the
Loneliness of Juto enemies to proceed. There are only six this time, but they're
understandably harder to take out. That doesn't make them hard, just less easy.
You'll get a Kan Blessing at the end of it.
Back to Zephie and Rue. You'll be fighting Elgar the First this time. He uses
the same tactics as the last time you fought him, but he's been scaled down a
bit to represent the weaker team you're fielding. He's still brutal to fight,
though, so watch yourself.
There's a random save point in here. Use it, even if you didn't have trouble
before. You don't want to have to redo all the dialogue as well as the fighting.
The warp takes you deeper, but you'll have to go through another segment with
Argo et al. before you can find out what happens. You're fighting four Panics of
Juto this time. You'll get a Warrior's Roar and an Iron Fist for winning.

And now you get to fight Schuenzeit, which is unfortunate becuase it's not the

his fighting style. Which isn't that impressive, really.
----------
Boss Battle
----------
Juto
Tactics:
I'm only putting this in a Boss Battle Window because it technically is. This
version of Juto is nowhere near as difficult as Crazy Juto back from Dunan Hill,
but he's still strong. Try and pull out some Chain Breaks if you can, but
keeping Zephie alive for healing should be your main priority during this
battle.
----------
Rewards:
Costume change!
----------
Juto wakes up, which is nice. Also, who else forgot all about Melissa until this
scene? Leave Celestine's house and head to Keitin's place. From there, to the
Undersea Tunnel and Strass' Tomb.
----------
Sidequests
----------
81) Junsti is waiting for Crocell in the center are of Cota Mare with the quest
"Rescue Marith".
82) Try to leave Cota Mare for Navyblue Marsh and you'll get a Cube mail that

Back in Cota Mare, you'll meet up with Melissa again. She's back on our side,
which is nice. You'll finally learn the truth behind this whole civil war thing.
Igton will then give you a Required Quest, "Core Materials".
Melissa joins the party at this point. I'm not complaining. She's a great
fighter, and I feel bad that she's being used against generic enemies. Anyway,
head north to the Nekoneko Dwelling. You'll get another Required Quest, "It's
About Give and Take!" This one is easy. Just read the description and do what is
says. When you have the required items an Event Trigger will show up on the map.
...and another Required Quest! Seriously, they should have just merged these
all into one. This one is called "Off to Igton". But first...
----------
Sidequests
----------
83) In the northern part of Navyblue Marsh is a Trewa named Drego that you must
fight. After defeating him, he gives you the quest "Bluemoon Trewa Restored".
----------
Now go get that next Required Quest from Igton, "The Final Component". The
monster you're sent to kill is all the way in the northeast, by the exit to
Dunan Hill. The Green Golem has high defense, but that's about it. There's
nothing special, just kill it.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Purson
Tactics:
Everything is pretty straightforward for a while, but Purson will eventually
summon something called Purson thread, which splits the battlefield. While
you're dealing with it, Purson will heal, which is annoying. Buy hey, you can
use this break to heal without distractions, which is a boon.
----------

Poor Melissa. Her outfit was ridiculous, but she was a decent character. Bring
that item back to Igton when you gain control.
This next part, the battle out in Navyblue Marsh, is really just a kill-fest.
Take out a bunch of Northern Forces soldiers, and you'll be good. They keep
spawning, so it really is a case of fight until there's a cut scene.
Claire will burst her way through the ice walls erected by the Cota Mara, and
then you'll actually get to fight this stupid bit...*ahem*, woman.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Claire
Tactics:
Claire uses guns, which is weird, because no one else has used them this entire
game. She's actually quite easy to beat, however. She stands in one place the
whole battle, so you can pretty much just wail on her. Use your best attacks,
and Chain them if you can.

go to Oldfox Canyon to speak with Hogton to get the quest "Let's Make a

87) Speak with Myer after finishing quest #86 to start the quest "Hunting Starts

88) After quest #87 is done, speak with Myer again to start the quest "Kill the

89) After quest #88 is done, speak with Hogton again to start the quest "Another

90) After quest #89 is done, speak with Myer again to start the quest "Secret of

91) After quest #90 is done, speak with Keitin again to start the quest "In

92) Return to Dunan Field and speak with the Boss's Son for the quest "Revenge
Thief".
93) Go to the Cave of the Hermit to finish quest #73, and then speak with
Kenaros again to receive the quest "The Reeden Seal Stones".
----------
If you're following the side quests, you should have six of them pending right
now. Head to Igton to continue on with the story.
Ruhalt Basin is the first step in your journey. Follow the Event Trigger, as you
always do. Rue gets a whole bunch of extra Kan from the wizards in this area, so
if you like using her, do so. Other than that, keep moving until you get to
the halfway mark.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Raud
Tactics:
Raud is difficult. His defense is astronomical, and he deals a fracking lot of
damage with his attacks. You'll need to use all of your strongest attacks for
this one. Zephie with a Kan Blessing gets infinite Healing Winds, so use that
to your advantage. I chained Juto's Desperate March with Rue's Immovable
Position and still only took out a quarter of his health. I was at level 62-64
when I fought him.
The best thing I found was to wait and hit him with a Counter (Juto's 1H Sword
(B) technique). His attack drops massively.

You can now head into Ruhalt Plateau. Use the save point as soon as you're
there. To the south is a never-ending battle between two Trewa and three members
of the Northern Forces. You can get Cure Potions as drops from the Wizards if
you'd like, and there's always the EXP, but don't linger for too long. There is
also a Trewa village to the east, but don't expect to find anything there.
----------
Sidequests
----------
Note: You can't actually complete these yet, as the game won't let you leave
Ruhalt Basin until you've accomplished certain things. But you WILL be able to
leave eventually.
----------
95) Turn in quest #83, and then speak with Helga again to start "Bluemoon Sacred
Items".
96) In the northern section you can rescue Malaccia to finish quest #82, and he
will give you the quest "Lightning Cores".

Alex
Tactics:
It's about time we got to face this a-hole. He's got some back-up in the form
of Northern Forces Igris Warriors, but they're standard fare by now. Take them
all out, and then focus all your attacks on Alex. Use your big things; Desperate
March, Colossol Hammer, Immovable Position, the skills that cost 8 Kan. It takes
a little longer thanks to the graphics, but the damage they do is well worth it.
Alex, like most of the Disc 2 bosses, has a range of attacks that will interrupt
your chains or cast you into immediate Overheat. There's nothing you can do
except wait until after he uses these moves to use your skills. This is a hard
fight; you'll probably want to use some items. Also, Argo's Armor Break is

So this part doesn't really need it's own section, but I did one at the end of
Disc One, so I'll do one here.
As far as the story is concerned, talk to Igton to head to La Strada. But if
you want to finish everything, you'll need to do some roaming. For example...
There's a save point to the north. Beside it is a chest holding a Demon Binding
Key.
The rest is all Sidequests, so if you don't care about them or collecting all
the weapons, skip ahead to Part 8 - La Strada to continue the game.
98) Inspect the giant skeleton called Vaizen's Grave to complete quest #80 and
start the quest "Overcome Sadness".
Now head off to Belfort to complete the "Bluemoon Trewa Restored" and "Ligtning

as you won't be able to go into the city itself. You can get a Kamond of

the quest "The Reeden Seal Stones" for their locations. Also, remember that the
volcano it speaks of is actually a monster that you have to kill. It lives in
Oldfox Canyon, near the exit to Navyblue Marsh. You'll have to either head
through the marsh or take Avis transport to the Northern Forces camp to get to
Volcano. The others are all in chests that I've pointed out throughout the

Part 8 - La Strada
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to be honest with you here. This place is a pain to go through, and
even harder to write about. Save at the Pillar if you want, and then head
through the warp nearby to go to the Wisdom Room.
Bring up your map. I dare you. This is the area we have to navigate through. Oy
vey. The enemies here continually respawn, so you'll never have to worry about
having enough Kan to solve the puzzles. Also, you'll be able to power level to
get the last few SP you might need to finish off some skill trees.
The whole point of this area is to summon the correct Kan on each island to
open up new paths and get through. It's a puzzle-based maze, really. Each vessel
has a color that matches one of the four Kan types. Here's the first puzzle:
1
|
2--3
/ \
4 5
/
6
So there's my crappy little map of the Trial of Wisdom. You start on island #3.
There is a path leading to 2, so go there now. The Activation Vessel is on the
north-eastern part of this island. For now, use the pathway to reach #5. Grab
the Revival Water from the chest there. Now head back to #2.
The Kan Vessel (at the north-west) is yellow, so bring Rue out if she's not
already. Fight long enough to summon two Lightning Kan, and then activate the
vessel with (A) to rearrange the pathways.
You can now head down to island #4, and get a Pauldron of Eternity from the
chest there. You'll notice that the path to #5 is gone. That's okay. Head up the
newly made path to island #1. The vessel here is red, so Crocell needs to make
two Fire Kan. No paths will disappear, but one will re-appear: the path that
leads from 5-6.
Head back down to #2, and use Rue to activate the vessel here. This will move
the bridges around so you can access #5 again, and the you'll be able to use the
new bridge to reach #6. Take the warp to the Intelligence Room.
1 2 3
\| )
4--5
/ \
6 7-8
)
9
So as you can see, this one is a little more difficult. You start on #1 this
time, which is nice. We want to get to #9 to pass through this room.
Head to #4, as it's the only way you can go. You should see that there is a
Lightning vessel and a Water vessel. This is where the whole 'do-it-in-the-
wrong-order-and-you-fail' scenario comes into play. The paths to islands #7 and
#8 are open, but we'll ignore them for now.
Would you like to get some items? I sure would!
On #4, use Rue to activate the Lightning vessel. This will open the pathways
from #4-2 and from #4-5, but will close off the path from #4-7. Go to #2, and
open the chest there for the kamond Warrior's Roar. Now head to #5. Use Crocell
to activate the Flame vessel, and then head over the newly formed bridge to #3.
There you'll find Crocell's Fist of Fantasy weapon.

On #4, get Celestine to activate the Water vessel and open the pathway from
#4-6. Unfortunately, this will close #4-7, but we'll reopen that later. For now,
head across to #6. When there, use Zephie to activate the Wind vessel, which
will close #7-8, but will also open #8-9. Now, in the same place, use Crocell to
open both #4-7 and #7-8. You can now cross from #4-9! On the way, grab the items
from islands #7 and #8, which hold a Cure Flower(3) and a Cure-all,
respectively. Use the warp to get to the Sagacity Room.

Defense LV5, Resistance LV5, and a Kan Moderation. Now head back to #6.
There's a Flame vessel here; use it. Island #2 gives you a Golden Clover. Down
on #11, activate the Flame vessel here as well. Now backtrack to #10, and hit
the Water vessel one more time. The path is now open all the way to #12, and the
exit. The warp leads you to the 1st Break Room. You now have the opportunity to
save, and I highly suggest that you do. Take the next warp to Huaren's Room.
----------
Mini-Boss Battle
----------
Huaren
Tactics:
You've fought Huaren before, and he's no different. Kill the various parts of
his body to stop his harder hitting attacks, and then focus on his body to kill

There's a portal to the 2nd Break Room that you should take. Like last time,
use the save pillar, and then head forward to the Courage Room.
Here's the short description: keep Zephie alive by killing floating orbs. The
game suggests you do other stuff, but you can beat every one of these trials by
staying put and attacking the orbs as they show up. They only have 1HP, after
all. Besides, even if you fail, you can always try again.
There are some treasure chests hidden about, though, so let's go find them.

The Trial of Courage is actually quite easy to navigate, as you might have
expected. The path from #2-3 is open at the start, so head across and grab the
Spirit LV5 from the chest there. A Kan Miracle is on island #6, and you can grab
the chest on #4 to get a lovely Variety Backpack for Rue.
Now, if you actually want to pass this trial by the smart way, you need to use
the Flame/Lightning/Water vessels to close off the bridges with Kan. This allows
you to hit the orbs without having to worry about them moving out of your
character's range of attack.
After passing the trial, you can leave by heading through the teleporter on #5.
The Bravery Room is the exact same thing. Go out and grab the chests, then
restart the trial and pass it. Here's a map for you, even though you don't
really need it...

#2 gives a Defense LV 5 Kamond, while #4 has a HP LV5. There's a Supernova at
#5, and a Platinum Kamond at #7. The exit is at #8, which you can use after
re-doing the trial and passing it. Now head through to the Heroism Room.

his hands, so just keep the cycle going, saving your Ultimate Techniques and
Co-op Techniques for Strass himself. Strass also has a technique that sucks up
all the Elemental Kan in the area; this is a pain, especially for your healer,
but if you have healing items (and really, why wouldn't you?) you'll do fine.

in front of the [Chief's House]. Use the key Heingel gave you.
-Rewards----------
350 EXP
200 SID
How To:
[Bilter's Box] is located in front of the chief's house, which has the flag
Event Trigger in it. Open the box to get Tool(1). Head to Highwind Island Shore
to find Bilter, and talk to him to complete the quest.
2) Acquire Medicine Ingredients
-Details----------
[Liandal Berries] are needed to make medicine to treat the wounded. They grow
wild in [Azurebell Forest]. The horn of the [Mama Worm] that guards them is
extremely powerful, so exercise caution.
-Rewards----------
Healing Seed x2
300 EXP
How To:
The Mama Worm resides in the middle of the northern path through Azurebell
Forest. She is guarded by two Pierce Worms. Take out the two Pierce Worms
first, then focus on the Mama Worm. She's at level 10, so take it easy.
Remember that you have healing items you can use if you need to, but you should
be okay if you keep moving to avoid her attacks, and use Skyward Hammer after
every three-hit combo. The Liandal Berries are on the ground behind where the
Mama Worm was. Pick them up, and return them to the healer in the village to
end the quest.
3) Deliver the Boxed Lunches
-Details----------
Deliver the [Boxed Lunches] to [Haman], who is working in [Azurebell Forest].
-Rewards----------
200EXP
How To:
Haman is stadning in the entrance to Azurebell Forest, which is east of the
village. You can't miss him, especially as he has a red checkmark above his
head. Talk to him to complete this quest.
4) Obtain Hard Horns
-Details----------
Kill Pierce Worms and obtain 5 [Hard Horns]. Attacks from a Pierce Worm horn
re fairly powerful, so exercise caution. When you've collected 5, report back
to [Haman].
-Rewards----------
Belt of Defense
300 EXP
How To:
First of all, you can only attain this quest if you completed "Deliver the
Boxed Lunches". Only once you've finished that will Haman give you this quest.
Simply walk around through Azurebell Forest, killing any and all Pierce Worms
you see. They will not all drop Hard Horns, but many will, so keep at it. If
you haven't already, try to complete Acquire Medicinal Ingredients at the same
time.
5) To the Kamond Mine
-Details----------
Safely escort the Merchant Guild staff to the Kamond Mine. The staffer is
waiting outside the city.
-Rewards----------
Belt of Magic Power
400 EXP
800 SID
How To:
The Guild Staff is waiting south of the Abazet city gates, hidden among some
shrubs. Talk to him, and he'll lead you to the Kamond mine. He will show up on
your mini-map as a green diamond. This guy can fight, but don't rely on him, as
his attacks do very little damage. Follow him to the end, and talk to him to
end this quest.
6) Poison Worms!
-Details----------
Kill 3 [Poison Worms] while being careful not to be hit with a [Poisoned]
Condition. When [Poisoned], you lose HP. Treat Conditions with Antdote. When
done, report to the soldier who asked for your help.
-Rewards----------
Ring of Detoxification
400 EXP
300 SID
How To:
Immediately north of the soldier who gave you the quest are some Pierce Worms
and Poison Worms. Go kill them. Then turn around and talk to the soldier again
to finish.
7) Hit It a Little Bit!
-Details----------
Kill 3 Phongs. They have an extrememly high evasion ability, so attack after
giving it [Vertigo]. Zephie's Wind attacks will be effective.
-Rewards----------
250 EXP
150 SID
How To:
Start off by making Zephie the leader. Because there is 1 Environmental Wind
Kan in this area, Zephie can cast Holy Ripple as much as she likes. Walk up to
a Phong, use basic attacks + Holy Ripple until it gets Vertigo, and then let
the other two party members attack normally. Repeat until all 3 are dead.
8) Generate Fire Kan
-Details----------
Generate 6 [Fire Kan] in a given area. You can generate Fire Kan with either a
fire-attribute [Standard Technique], or a signature [Fire Tap] from the
Fireball Style. When done, report to the Southern Forces soldier at the mine.
-Rewards----------
Earring of Red Sparrow
300 EXP
How To:
The trick here is that you need to generate 6 Kan at the same time. You can't
just generate 1 or 2 at a time, let them fade away, and think they'll all count.
A good way to do this is find a Claw Beast and then, with Crocell as the
leader, start attacking while standing very close. With luck, you'll get a (B)
prompt and Crocell will use Fire Tap. This will sacrifice some of his HP to
summone multiple Fire Kan. If you haven't used any by casting Blazing Spear,
this should put you up above the 6 Kan requirement. Go back to the Kamond Mine
to finish this quest.
9) Rescue the Hostage!
-Details----------
Rescue the abductee from the Werewolves' hideout to the west. Their weapons are
powerful! Put Juto's [Counter] into practice. After you successfully rescue the
hostages, report to the Merchant's Guild HQ in Abazet for your reward.
-Rewards----------
Attack LV1
HP LV1 X2
500 EXP
800 SID
How To:
Immediately after you beat the Werewolf Boss and gain control, the hostage will
be on your left. Untie him, and he'll take care of himself. Back in Abazet, go
to the Merchant's Guild and talk to Schneider. He'll then direct you to Yi-en,
who has your reward, and credit for completing another quest.
10) Do a Soul Extraction
-Details----------
Have Zephie perform her Signature Technique [Soul Extraction] and extract a
Kamond from a monster. It has a given probability of starting when the monster
is almost dead. To use it, make Zephie leader.
-Rewards----------
250 EXP
200 SID
How To:
As Zephie, you need to enter combat with any enemy. Once the enemy hits half
health, there is a chance that you will get a (B) prompt for Zephie to use Soul
Extraction. I find that it doesn't always appear, but there are plenty of
enemies to use this ability on. You may want to try this while killing Phongs,
as this move can end the battle early and get you credit for both quests. The
quest will finish when you report back to the quest giver.
11) An Old Man's Request
-Details----------
Hwan was in the Oldfox Canyon capture operation. Go protect him so he can go
home to his father.
-Rewards----------
Necklace of Life
Belt of Experience
800 EXP
How To:
This quest won't actually start until you go to Oldfox Canyon as part of the
main quest line. Once you are in Oldfox Canyon, head straight through until you
see a red checkmark. This is Hwan, and you have to rush to him and save him
from the enemies that are attacking him. If you wait too long, he will die. The
enemies themselves are no more difficult than anything you've fought so far,
which means you don't have to worry about dying yourself.
12) The Apprentice Tanner
-Details----------
Capture 5 [Claw Beasts] for the apprentice tanner in Abazet Field. Once you're
done, report back to the tanner.
-Rewards----------
Leather Knuckle
600 EXP
200 SID
How To:
Just run around killing Claw Beasts. It is literally that simple.
13) Endless Battle...
-Details----------
Kill 6 Nekojacks, the Nekoneko's old enemy. The Nekojacks inhabit the area
around the port.
-Rewards----------
Hotty Hot X2
Lighty Light X2
500 EXP
500 SID
How To:
Don't you just love quests that ask you to kill things? There are plenty of
Nekojacks in Abazet Port. Honestly, just ignore this and focus on Nekoneko Pride
first. You'll finish off the requirements for this quest while you're doing the
other. Talk to the quest-giver to finish.
14) Nekoneko Pride
-Details----------
Recover the bells that were stolen by the Nekojack. You will need keys to open
the treasure schests that the bells are hidden in.
-Rewards----------
Fire Crystal Bomb
400 EXP
500 SID
How To:
Head to the western-most part of Abazet Port to find the Nekojack area. Kill a
bunch of them until one drops a chest, which has a key in it. Now you can open
the solitary chest in this area and get the Nekoneko Bells. Return to the quest-
giver when you've got the bells.
15) Destroy the Obstacle
-Details----------
Go with the Southern Forces operations officer and advance to the obstructed
area. Use the [Fire Crystal Bombs] you got from the Nekoneko earlier to destroy
the obstacle.
-Rewards----------
Earring of Red Sparrow
1200 EXP
How To:
Follow the Southern Army Executive Officer through Oldfox Canyon, helping him
fight off Northern Forces soldiers while you're at it. Eventually he stops and
tells you what to do. This is really just another escort mission, unfortunately.
He CAN die, BTW. Use the Fire Crystal Bomb with (X) when you get to the star on
your map.
16) Hwan's Request
-Details----------
Deliver Hwan's letter to his father in Abazet.
-Rewards----------
Healing Leaf X 3
1500 EXP
How To:
Hwan will only spawn if you've accepted quest #11. When you save Hwan and
finish that quest, you can talk to him again to get this one. This quest is just
like the one you just finished, as you need to wait until you get back to Abazet
City to finish it. You'll see a red checkmark in the middle of the city, and
then you'll finish the quest. It's rather easy, actually.
17) Help the Wounded Soldiers
-Details----------
Buy time by using healing wizardry on the wounded soldiers to keep them from
dying. If even 1 soldier dies, you fail.
-Rewards----------
Squall Fragment
Wind Kan Crystal
1000 EXP
How To:
In the off chance that you haven't already done this...SAVE. If you fail, then
that's it. So save now while you can, and then if you fail you can reload that
save. This is a weird mini-game, where you (as Zephie) have to keep some
soldiers from succumbing to their wounds. The trick here is to make liberal use
of your camera control. The first time I did it I left my camera in one place
and ended up forgetting about two of the soldiers at the very back. Zephie's
Kan will regen slowly, but it is possible to use it all up, so be careful. Also,
be aware that some soldiers lose health faster than others.
18) Give Me Back My Goods!
-Details----------
Go to the Northern Forces camp to the south and take back the [Stolen Goods].
Rewards
Cure Flower
800 EXP
500 SID
How To:
Bring up your mini-map, and you can see that the Northern Forces Campsite is
straight to the south of where you started. Head there, defeat the enemies, and
bring back to the Avis Merchant what you got from the treasure chest in that
area. You'll get a key for the chest from one of the Northern Forces soldiers.
19) An Eye for an Eye
-Details----------
Gather 4 [Suspicious Mushrooms] from around Navyblue Marsh, then give them to
the merchant.
-Rewards----------
600 EXP
How To:
This is just like when you had to harvest Gunpowder Grass for Melissa at the
beginning of the game, except you have a much shorter time requirement, and this
time you're harvesting purple mushrooms. There are two nearby, but you'll have
to venture out a ways to find the other two you need. Bring them to the Avis
when you have all four.
20) A Tooth for a Tooth
-Details----------
Set the [Gas Spray Trap] given to you by the Avis traveling merchant in front
of the tent in Northern Forces Campsite.
-Rewards----------
Kan Reward
Recipe: Red Jewel
1000 EXP
1000 SID
How To:
If you haven't realized this by now, the sidequests in this game are extremely
repetitive. Head to the Northern Forces Campsite, plant the Gas Spray Trap with
(X), and then return for your reward.
21) Delivery to Cota Mare
-Details----------
Deliver the goods you got from the merchant to [Nestin] in Cota Mare and
protect his merchant spirit.
-Rewards----------
500 EXP
500 SID
How To:
...and with that, you're done with this particular merchant. You can progress
through Navyblue Marsh as usual now. When you reach the village of Cota Mare,
there will be a nice red checkmark waiting for you right in the front gates.
Quest complete.
22) Hi-yo, Junsti
-Details----------
[Junsti] has gone off into Navyblue Marsh to play. Find him and tell him to
come home. After you do, report back to your client in the chief's house.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Junsti is in the Nekoneko Dwelling, which you can find quite easily by looking
at your map. He's the only Mare boy in the area, so just talk to him. Finish
this quest by talking to the relative that sent you out to find him.
23) Navyblue Marsh Messengers
-Details----------
Kill the Northern Forces in the northern Navyblue Marsh and keep the peace in
Cota Mare. When finished, report back to the Mare woman at the entrance to Cota
Mare.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
1000 SID
How To:
The messengers you're sent to kill are all the way to the north, by the exit to
Dunan Hill. There are only three of them, but you'll be surrounded by Meres, so
be careful. Zephie can heal, and you can always use the stored Kan in Juto and
Argo to take out a lot of enemies quick. Return to the quest giver to finish.
24) We Need Kamond Shards
-Details----------
Acquire 8 [Kamond Shards] from the monsters that dwell in Navyblue Marsh. Once
finished, give them to the Nekoneko.
-Rewards----------
Cherry Blossom
800 EXP
500 SID
How To:
Kill a bunch of enemies, then report back. Not all enemies will drop Kamond
Shards, but you'll see an alert in the upper-left corner of your screen when you
get one, so just pay attention. You can always bring up the Quest Journal in the
Information menu and find out your progress.
25) Relay Operational Orders
-Details----------
You have obtained Northern Forces [Operational Orders]. Give them to Kiloty at
the entrance to Cota Mare.
-Rewards----------
800 EXP
How To:
You get this quest, and the Operational Orders in question, during quest #24.
They show up as you kill the final Northern Forces soldier. Simply return to
Cota Mare and give Kiloty the orders. You'll know him when you see him; he has
a large red checkmark overtop of his head.
26) Kill the Blaborers
-Details----------
Go to the [Refuge of Darkness] that lies to the north and kill 6 Blaborers.
Once finished, report back to your client.
-Rewards----------
Hotty Hot X2
Coldy Cold X2
800 EXP
How To:
There are a LOT of Blaborers in the Refuge of Darkness. That doesn't change the
fact that they are easy to kill, and you only need to take out 6 of them for
this quest.
27) Delivery to Abazet Port
-Details----------
Deliver the Navyblue Marsh Nekoneko's [Shard Parcel] to the Nekoneko village
near Abazet Port.
-Rewards----------
Stamina Seed
1000 EXP
2000 SID
How To:
This is another one of those quests that you'll have to wait to finish. When you
get back to Abazet, head to Abazet Port and talk to the Nekoneko there. Quest
complete!
28) Kill Nurance
-Details----------
Kill the enemy general [Nurance], who is somewhere in Navyblue Marsh. After he
is dead, report to Kiloty at the entrance to Cota Mare. Let's keep Cota Mare
peaceful.
-Rewards----------
Frostnip Defense
1200 EXP
How To:
Kiloty gives you this quest after you turn in the Operational Orders from quest
#25. Nurance is in the middle of Navyblue Marsh, near the save Pillar halfway to
Dunan Hill. Like the description says, return to Kiloty after he's dead to
finish the quest.
29) Terminate the Spy
-Details----------
A spy who had been leaking our intel has fled to Oldfox Canyon. The spy seems
to have met up with the Northern Forces. Deal with the spy, then report to the
Southern Forces soldier at the entrance to Abazet.
-Rewards----------
Seeker
1400 EXP
1000 SID
How To:
The spy has no defining characteristics, which means you need to just keep
killing things until you get the alert that the spy has been defeated. I find
that he usually doesn't appear until you reach the first Event Trigger, but for
all I know he could have a random spawn point. You won't be able to turn in this
quest until you get back to Abazet.
30) Recover Secret Docs ASAP
-Details----------
Recover the top-secret documents that the spy walked off with and bring them
back to General HQ with all haste. It appears that the documents have been
divided among various enemy holdouts in the canyon.
-Rewards----------
Attack LV3
Defense LV3
1400 EXP
How To:
There are three parts to the secret documents, and you'll get them from
defeating enemies. So basically, kill everything in your path like you normally
would. Just like 'Terminate the Spy', you won't be able to finish this until
you've finished with the story in this section and returned to Abazet. You'll
need to talk to a soldier in the Southern Forces headquarters to end it.
31) Lati are Infesting Abazet
-Details----------
Visit [Deba], whose husband was killed by the Lati and hear what she has to
say.
-Rewards----------
500 EXP
How To:
You get this quest from a woman walking around in the first area of Abazet City.
All you have to do is talk to the woman inside the house in the center area.
32) The Risks of Revenge
-Details----------
Kill the Lati and avenge their victims. Go visit the [Monster Scholar], the
Lati authority, and ask for information on them.
-Rewards----------
500 EXP
How To:
Deba (from the previous quest) will ask you to talk to the Monster Scholar. His
house is in the same area, so take the fifteen seconds to walk over there and
turn in this quest.
33) Get the Ancient Documents
-Details----------
Find the Monster Scholar's grandson, [Aruth], and get the ancient documents.
He says Aruth has been mobilized to Dunan Hill as a member of the Southern
Forces.
-Rewards----------
800 EXP
How To:
The Monster Scholar (from the last quest) needs the Ancient Documents, which you
can only get by continuing the story. In fact, as soon as you spawn in Dunan
Hill, there's a soldier with a red checkmark. Talk to him to finish this one
and start the following quest.
34) Rescue Aruth
-Details----------
Rescue Aruth, who was abducted by the Northern Forces. He is being held
somewhere on Dunan Hill.
-Rewards----------
Necklace of Courage
1200 EXP
1000 SID
How To:
Aruth is a red checkmark between Checkpoints 1 and 2, about halfway through.
You'll have to untie him first, but then you can talk to him and finish this
quest. He gives you one more though...
35) Support the Troops
-Details----------
The Southern forces troops holding Dunan Hill are outnumbered. The Northern
Forces are advancing, and have come as far as Checkpoint #1. Support the
imperiled Southern Forces that have been surrounded.
-Rewards----------
Resistance LV3
HP LV3
1500 EXP
2000 SID
How To:
There are Southern Forces soldiers throughout the first part of this area that
need help. Kill all enemies surrounding them and talk to each of the soldiers
when they're safe to get credit. You'll know which ones count because they'll
show up on your mini-map as green diamonds. There are only three.
36) Deliver Ancient Documents
-Details----------
Give the ancient documents you got from Aruth to the Monster Scholar in Abazet.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
1000 SID
How To:
Yes, that's right, another 'deliver this item for me' quest. Your target is,
once again, the Monster Scholar in Abazet. Return to him after completing the
events at Dunan Hill.
37) Kill the Colossus
-Details----------
The route to advance on Darkblade Fortress is guarded by a Northern Forces
Colossus. Kill it and storm the fortress. After it is killed, report to the
Southern Forces soldiers who have gone to the rear as support forces.
-Rewards----------
Kan Reward
Kamond of Passion
2000 EXP
How To:
The Colossus blocks your way through to the last area, Darkblade Fortress, so
you literally can't miss this enemy. He's pretty tough, but if you focus your
Chain Breaks, he'll fall soon enough. Return to the soldier IMMEDIATELY, as if
you go to Darkblade Fortress then you miss the chance to turn in this quest and
you lose out on the final Achievement. You've been warned.
38) Gather Cursed Grass
-Details----------
Go to the Merchant Guild and pick up the [Cursed Grass].
-Rewards----------
600 EXP
How To:
You know where the Merchant's Guild is. Talk to Schneider, the Trewa behind the
counter.
39) Gather Cursed Grass
-Details----------
Gather Cursed Grass in the [Wasteland of Silence]. There are Werewolf holdouts
in the area where the grass grows wild, so be careful. Once you've collected
the grass, deliver it to the Monster Scholar.
-Rewards----------
Recipe: Wizard's Rocket
1500 EXP
How To:
The cursed grass you're looking for is right beside Chieftain's Hill, and is
only hard to find because it's small. Just look for the only plant that doesn't
look anything like the plants around it. Harvest it just like you've done three
times before with other items, and return to the Monster Scholar.
40) Recover the Kamonds
-Details----------
Merchant Guild Kamonds have been stolen by the Werewolf holdouts that roam the
Wasteland of Silence. Defeat them and retrieve the Kamonds. These holdouts are
gathered on [Chieftain's Hill] in the wasteland. After you retrieve them,
report back to the Merchant Guild.
-Rewards----------
Agility LV3 X2
Stamina LV3 X2
1300 EXP
2000 SID
How To:
It's all in the description, really. Kill some Werewolves until you get what you
need, then return to the Merchant's Guild. Easy.
41) Find the Missing Scout
-Details----------
Search for the scout we lost contact with in the southern Wasteland of Silence.
-Rewards----------
Stamina Recovery LV3
Stamina LV3
1500 EXP
How To:
The scout is at the very end of the Wasteland of Silence, surrounded by Northern
Forces soldiers. They're standard fare at this point, so take them all out and
free the scout.
42) Lati Attack!
-Details----------
The vicious Lati, who have made the Wasteland of Silence their base, are
attacking the [South Gate]. The South Gate must be defended to prevent them
from invading Abazet.
-Rewards----------
Earring of Sacrifice
1500 EXP
1500 SID
How To:
Mini-game time! Talk to the soldier on the south side of the gate to the
Wasteland of Silence to start. You'll get a mix of targets that run towards you
or are stationary. The moving ones take two hits of Ice Arrow (A), and the ones
that stay still only take one hit. There really is no reason to use either of
the Kan costing moves. There's a handy counter on the right telling you how many
enemies are left. At the end, talk to the soldier again to finish.
43) Highwind Island Refugee
-Details----------
Meet with the refugee who escaped from Highwind Island. He is at the Nekoneko
village near Abazet Port.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Do you really need me to spell this out for you? Fine. Go to Abazet Port. Do you
see that little red checkmark on your mini-map? Go there, and talk to the
Nekoneko.
44) Hanging by a Thread
-Details----------
You need Illusion Root to treat Bilter. Illusion Root grows wild in the area
inhabited by Nekojack. Juto will gather the Illusion Root himself.
-Rewards----------
Stun Defense
Pendant of Skill
1200 EXP
How To:
The Illusion Root may be a little hard to find. That's because it grows next to
the tree that lies within the borders of the Nekojack area. It's a large, turnip
looking thing. There is no mini-game for harvesting this time, so just grab it
and return to where Bilter is.
45) Sneak into the Forest...
-Details----------
Meet up with the Island Guards in Azurebell Forest. Find them and learn from
the resistance how the battle is progressing.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Once you have control of Juto on Highwind Island, speak to an Island Guard by
the save point.
46) Sneak to the Sea...
-Details----------
Meet up with the Island Guards on Highwind Island Shore. Find the resistance
and learn how the battle is progressing.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Simply speak to an Island Guard with Zephie upon arriving at Highwind Island to
finish this quest.
47) Destroy the Seige Weapons
-Details----------
Destroy the 4 [Death Ballista] Northern Forces siege weapons stationed on
Highwind Island Shore. Use Argo's [Punch] Field Action to destroy their
[Barrier Generator].
-Rewards----------
Attack LV3
2500 EXP
How To:
Story-based mission. Refer to guide.
48) Kill Zebasa
-Details----------
Defeat the Northern Forcs monster, [Zebasa], who wanders the outskirts of
Azurebell Forest. He will appear when you kill more than 15 of the residual
troops in the forest.
-Rewards----------
Spirit LV3
2500 EXP
How To:
Story-based mission. Refer to guide.
49) Hunt the Fleeing Soldiers
-Details----------
Completely restore peace to Highwind Island. Kill the 8 Northern Forces
soldiers who fled into Windsong Caverns. When you're done, report to [Haman].
-Rewards----------
Recipe: Iron Heart
2000 EXP
How To:
Okay, so the quest says that there are 8 soldiers, but when I went through for
the second time (while writing this guide) there were about 16 soldiers. I don't
know why it spawned way more, but be aware that it is a possibility. Otherwise,
just head through the caverns normally, and you'll come across all the enemies
in due time. None of them are hiding, and there's only the one path through. You
can either return to Haman as soon as you've killed them all, or after finishing
the events in the cavern. It matters not to me.
50) Defeat the Lati Boss!
-Details----------
Kill the Lati boss, the [Queen Lati], in the [Cave of the Lati] in the Wasteland
of Silence. As proof, bring back the queen's [Queen Lati's Mask]. Once you have
the proof, report back to the Merchant Guild.
-Rewards----------
Earring of Blue Dragon
1500 EXP
3000 SID
How To:
The Lati queen is at the very back of the cave you visited earlier with Crocell.
The game no longer prevents you from going all the way to the end because of
this. The Lati queen is at the very end, and is just like every other Lati
you've fought, just with more HP. Like the details told you, return to Schneider
when you're done.
51) Lati, Candle in the Wind?
-Details----------
Kill the [Queen Lati], which is deep in the Cave of the Lati in the Wasteland of
Silence, then sprinkle her eggs with the Monster Scholar's potion. When
finished, report back to the Monster Scholar.
-Rewards----------
Revival Water
2000 EXP
How To:
There's no reason you shouldn't be doing this quest along with #50, really.
After killing the Lati Queen, use the Egg Melting Potion with (X). Then return
to the Monster Scholar. Easy peezy, lemon squeazy.
52) Celestine's Letter
-Details----------
Celestine's coming of age ceremony is being held. Go see [Keitin], Cota Mare's
chief.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
From Darkblade Fortress, head to Cota Mare (the map will show you the way).
When you get there, make Celestine the leader of your party and talk to Keitin
in her house at the top-right of the village.
53) Alex's Letter
-Details----------
Locate the defecting Northern Forces soldiers in the battle of Ruhalt and give
them Alex's letter.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
About halfway through Ruhalt Basin, you'll come across a Northern Forces soldier
by the name of Yielding Soldier. Speak with him to end this quest.
54) Celestine Comes of Age!
-Details----------
Perform Celestine's coming of age ceremony. Find [Nestin], [Kiloty], and
[Switin] in Cota Mare and undergo a ritual from each. Once finished, return to
the chief's house.
-Rewards----------
Three Leaf Clover
Spirit Brooch
1500 EXP
How To:
Simply find the three people mentioned and complete their quests, then speak
with Keitin once again. The three quests required are the next three in this
list. Then, speak with Switin in the center area to have the ceremony.
55) Rite of Nature
-Details----------
Undergo the [Rite of Nature]. Acquire an [Aselina's Tears], a flower that
bloooms on a [Grami]'s head. It will run if it sees you, so sneak up on it. When
you get one, give it to [Nestin].
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
First of all, no, that's not a typo on my part. The in-game text actually says
'bloooms'. The Grami is right outside the entrance to Cota Mare, and like the
game says, if you run, it'll run. So walk quietly up behind it, and your leader
will be able to Research it with (A). Now just return to Nestin to get your
reward.
56) Rite of Incense
-Details----------
Undergo the [Rite of Incense]. Collect [Extract] from Navyblue Marsh's incense
springs. There are 4 springs in total. When finished, give it to [Switin].
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
The four springs are in these locations: by the Nekoneko Dwelling, by the
eastern save point, near the Northern Forces Campsite, and finally, in the area
where you first arrived after the events at Oldfox Canyon. Use the empty bottles
you received earlier with (X) to gather the incense.
57) Rite of Strength
-Details----------
Undergo the [Rite of Strength]. Kill a [Union] on the road to Dunan Hill in the
Northeast marsh and give its horn to [Kiloty] in Cota Mare.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
The Union is located in the clearing by the eastern save point. It's the only
enemy in the area that doesn't look like a Mere. It hits hard, and has a lot of
HP, but I found Juto/Argo Chain Breaks take out massive amounts of said HP. Once
it falls, return to Kiloty.
58) Escort the Traveler
-Details----------
The traveler has a wounded leg and can't move well. Take her to the Dunan Rest
Area.
-Rewards----------
Ring of Blue Dragon
Paralysis Defense
2000 EXP
2000 SID
How To:
The Traveler knows exactly where to go, so just follow her there. Make sure to
take out all enemies as you go, as they will not hesitate to kill her if you
don't watch out. Talk to her at the end of the trip to end the quest.
59) Lanoara Lake Monster
-Details----------
A giant monster has appeared in Lanoara Lake. To maintain traveler safety, slay
this monster. Lanoara Lake lies to the northwest. Once it is killed, report to
the traveler at the refuge.
-Rewards----------
Hawk's Eye
Silence Defense
2500 EXP
2500 SID
How To:
You'll meet the Swamp Eel, which looks suspiciously like the Gigantic Angler
from the Undersea Tunnel. It uses poison attacks, so items like the Ring of
Detoxification are incredibly helpful. Swamp Eel uses the same tactic as the
Gigantic Angler, where it attacks, then disappears and shows up somewhere else.
It is far more effective this time, as it gives your characters time to die from
poison. Take it out as fast as possible, using Chain Breaks when you can. Return
to the Dunan Rest Area and speak with the Traveler to get credit for completing
this quest.
60) Hi-yo Assistant
-Details----------
Locate the assistant who is at [Reinpolt Ruins] to the east of the refuge.
-Rewards----------
1200 EXP
How To:
The assistant is standing around in the middle of Reinpolt Ruins. Approach from
the north to find him fastest.
61) Dunan Field's Seeds of Suffering
-Details----------
Deal with the Dnan Thieves, who come at regular intervals to rob the Dunan Rest
Area.
-Rewards----------
Recipe: Ring of Conquest
2000 EXP
How To:
As soon as you leave the building where the Boss's Son is, you'll be attacked by
three Dunan Thieves. Kill them, and then return to the Boss's Son.
62) Dunan Field's Seeds of Suffering (2)
-Details----------
Go to the Dunan Thieves' hideout to the southeast and kill their leader.
-Rewards----------
Dragon Pauldron
Kamond of Regeneration
2500 EXP
How To:
You can see the way to the Thieves' hideout easily on your minimap, so head
there. After carving your way through a dozen or so thieves, you'll meet the
leader, a Trewa named Albedo. Beat him for some character development for Argo.
He's strong, and has some decent HP, but Juto and Argo are both just as strong,
and a Chain Break or two between them should take him out fairly quickly.
63) The Assistant's Lost Item
-Details---------
Look for the assistant's lost [Diary] and [Pouch] in the Reinpolt Ruins. When
you find them, give them to the assistant.
-Rewards----------
Healing Capsule
1500 EXP
How To:
There is a green pouch on the ground to the south of where the assistant is
standing, and the blue diary is in the westernmost part of the ruins.
64) Vaizen's Whereabouts
-Details----------
Look for clues regarding Celestine's father, [Vaizen the Silver], in Belfort.
-Rewards----------
2500 EXP
How To:
This one will have to wait for a while. When you reach Belfort as part of the
main story, you'll be tasked with finding a man named Jeroha. It's a Required
Quest, so don't worry about missing it. After meeting him, you'll have to fight
off some Northern Forces members, but then you'll be able to talk to him and
finish this quest.
65) Get the Marks of Royalty
-Details----------
Undergo the Royal Trial. First, visit the [Water Folk] and listen to their
explanation of the Water Altar.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
Return to Cota Mare and speak with Keitin as Zephie.
66) Mark of Royalty 1: Water
-Details----------
Go to the [Water Altar] located in Navyblue Marsh and undergo the trial to
become king.
-Rewards----------
2500 EXP
How To:
The Water Altar is hidden away behind a magical barrier in the Refuge of
Darkness. Walk through the barrier and Research the altar to summon the Water
Spirit. It'll summon some enemies called Essence of Water. Celestine isn't that
good here, so leave her in the back-up party. Defeat all 8 to proceed.
67) Mark of Royalty 2: Fire
-Details----------
Go to the [Fire Altar] in Oldfox Canyon and undergo the trial to be King.
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
The Fire Altar is in Oldfox Canyon, south of where the Gate of Wailing used to
be. Approach and Research the Altar (as Zephie) to summon the Fire Spirit. He
conjurs an Essence of Flame. It's level 47, and as a direct result of that, hits
like a ton of bricks. Honestly, I had more trouble with this guy than with the
final boss. Leviathan is still the hardest enemy in the game, but this Essence
of Fire is certainly high on the list. Thankfully, there's a save pillar nearby,
which means you can get some free healing by interacting with it. The thing you
want to watch out the most for is his nasty ability to automatically put your
characters into Overheat.
68) Save Defecting Commander
-Details----------
Rescue the defecting soldiers, along with their commander, [Madmac].
-Rewards----------
Ring of White Tiger
Cure Capsule X 4
2500 EXP
How To:
Yielding Soldier leads the way, although there is only the one path to take.
Unlike past missions, this guy doesn't have a health bar, which means he can't
die. But he also won't take part in battle, so it doesn't matter one way or the
other. Madmac, however, does help you fight, so it's worth it to save him.
69) Shivering From the Cold
-Details----------
Kill Wereboars] and [Ground Beasts] and acquire 3 hides.
-Rewards----------
Ring of Genbu
Spirit LV4
2500 EXP
How To:
Simply leave Belfort and kill the aforementioned monsters until you have all 3
hides, then return to the woman. It is best to do this in conjunction with
quest #71.
70) I'm so Hungry...
-Details----------
To help the starving child, acquire Northern Forces [Combat Rations] and give it
to the child. The Northern Forces are in Belfort's urban center.
-Rewards----------
Ring of Red Sparrow
Kamond of Regeneration
2500 EXP
How To:
There are a few different places in Belfort where you fight Northern Forces
soldiers, and when you do, you need to keep an eye on your rewards for killing
them. At some point, you'll get combat rations as a drop. When you've got them,
return to the Southern Forces controlled area and give the rations ot the little
girl.
71) Be Ready for Danger
-Details----------
Kill 10 monsters around Belfort. Afterwards, report to the Southern Forces
soldier in friendly territory.
-Rewards----------
Three Leaf Clover
Confusion Defense
2500 EXP
How To:
The best way is to exit towards Starlight Fields and start killing monsters. It
is best to do this in conjunction with quest #69.
72) The Reeden Forbidden Door
-Details----------
Open the forbidden door in the Reeden Home.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
Make Crocell the Leader, and make sure he has a Fireball weapon equipped. Use
his field action Light Fire on the four Bonfires set in the pillars.
73) A Father's Last Request
-Details----------
There is a man with ties to the Reeden family in the [Cave of the Hermit] to the
east of Dunan Field. Look for him.
-Rewards----------
2500 EXP
How To:
You've been near the Cave of the Hermit before; go back there and talk to the
man that is inside of it.
74) Follow the Clues...
-Details----------
Look for clues to Vaizen's whereabouts in the [Sentinel Laboratory].
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
This quest will sit on the backburner until you get into the Sentinel Labs. When
you get to Lab 3, make Celestine the leader and Research the blue Recorder.
75) The Weight of a Key
-Details----------
To rescue the prisoners, you have to open the locked door. One of the guards has
the card key.
-Rewards----------
Infinite Strength
Warrior's Roar
3000 EXP
How To:
Story-based mission. Refer to guide.
76) Emergency Rescue
-Details----------
Turn off the [Control Unit] in Lab #1 to save Balfour's wife. The time limit is
3 minutes. You fail if it isn't stopped by then. Afterwards, report back to
Balfour.
-Rewards----------
Ring of White Tiger
Recipe: Patience & Will
3000 EXP
How To:
Run to Lab #1. You'll have to go up a set of stairs, kill some guards, and then
push a button. You can do it well within the 3 minute time limit if you ignore
all the enemies. (By the way, you want to hit the big red button in the middle
of the room.)
77) Northern Forces Valuables
-Details----------
Find the valuables that the Northern Forces brought into the laboratory. They're
in one of the rooms in the laboratory.
-Rewards----------
2500 EXP
How To:
Inside the southeastern satellite room around Laboratory 2 is a treasure chest.
However, it is locked, and when you try to open it, a Lab Guard and two Healers
show up. Defeat them, and use the key you get to open the chest. You'll get a
Kan Saving and a Stamina LV4 for your trouble.
78) The Sad Truth
-Details----------
Look for clues to Vaizen's whereabouts. Look for people with information about
Vaizen.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
After the events in Belfort end and you arrive in Cota Mare, speak with Nix.
79) A Sentinel Grudge Match?
-Details----------
Kill [Zebasa] and [Lecas]. Zebasa and Lecas are in the [Production Room] on the
way to the Central Laboratory.
-Rewards----------
3500 EXP
How To:
There are two rooms to either side of Lab 4. Zebasa is in one, and Lecas the
other. Use the same strategies as before to take these guys out.
80) To the Grey Cemetery
-Details----------
The Sentinel test subject dumping ground is on the Ruhalt Plateau. Find the body
of [Vaizen the Silver], Celestine's father, at the [Quicklime Mounds] of Ruhalt
Plateau.
-Rewards----------
2000 EXP
How To:
After progressing far enough in the story (re: fight Alex) you'll be able to
inspect Vaizen's Grave to finish this quest. It's a long way off, by the way.
81) Rescue Marith
-Details----------
Rescue Marith, who has been abducted by monsters.
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
Junsti will lead Crocell and Juto to where Marith is. The ONLY way to defeat the
Garion is by the Co-op Technique Nova Slash, which you learn during the fight.
Juto needs a two-handed sword, and Crocell needs a fireball. The best way to
instigate it is to max out Juto's Kan, then get Crocell up to 5. As Juto, start
a chain. It's quite difficult to get enough Kan with Crocell to use a skill and
have enough Kan left over, although using a Fire Kan Crystal helps. Speak with
Marith to end the quest.
82) Rescue Malaccia
-Details----------
Rescue Malaccia, who is being transported to [Ruhalt Plateau].
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
This one has to wait for until you go to Ruhalt Plateau as part of the story.
When you get there,
83) Bluemoon Trewa Restored
-Details----------
Visit the Bluemoon Trewa settlement on [Ruhalt Plateau].
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
After defeating Raud outside Belfort, you'll have access to Ruhlat Plateau. Once
there, head south and then east to find the Bluemoon Trewa settlement. Speak
with Helga as Argo to end this quest.
84) A Stony Smile
-Details----------
Celestine is going out to pick medicinal plants. Go with Rue.
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
Speak with the Nekoneko in front of Celestine, and then defend the dwelling from
the attacking Nekojacks. You'll learn Glacial Blast, a Co-op Technique, during
the battle. Finish the battle to finish the quest.
85) Ultimate Wonder Potion
-Details----------
Have the Mare make you their special wonder potion. Kill [Hellfish] in the
Undersea Tunnel to get [Shelled Creature Humors]. Once you have them, give them
to [Kiloty] in Cota Mare.
-Rewards----------
Recipe: Ultimate Shot
Ultimate Medicine
5000 EXP
How To:
It's pretty simple, really. Go kill things until you get the item, then return
to Kiloty. Actually, you need 5 of the item. Just sayin'.
86) Let's Make a Fooortne
-Details----------
Take Hogton up on his offer and kill an Inferno. Get information on Infernos
from the Hunter.
-Rewards----------
500 EXP
How To:
Speak with the guy standing next to Hogton.
87) Hunting Starts with Traps
-Details----------
To lure out the Inferno, collect 4 Blaze tails. Once you have them, give them to
Myer.
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
Go find some monsters called Blaze and kill them. They're scattered all around
Oldfox Canyon.
88) Kill the Inferno
-Details----------
Use the [Anti-Inferno Bullet] in the spots marked by Myer. When the [Inferno]
appears, kill it. After it's dead, report back to Hogton.
-Rewards----------
Recipe: Mark of the Hero
Platinum Kamond
5000 EXP
How To:
Again, this is pretty self-explanatory. Search for stars on your map, use the
item, kill the creature, report to person. The target is just to the east of
you, but you'll have to walk all the way around because of the barricades. When
you do get there...the Inferno is HAAAAARD. Thank god I put a Kan Blessing and a
Kan Control on Zephie. Infinite Healing anyone?
89) Another Target
-Details----------
Get information about the Giant Moth from [Myer] the Hunter.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Another lame quest where you talk to the right standing right beside you.
90) Secret of the Giant Moth
-Details----------
A [Giant Moth] once appeared in broad daylight in [Cota Mare], so get
information about the incident from the Mare.
-Rewards----------
1500 EXP
How To:
Go to Cota Mare and speak with Keitin. You can use the Avis Transport to get
there quickly.
91) In Search of Kan Essence
-Details----------
[Water Essence] is at Strass' Grave in the Undersea Tunnel. [Fire Essence] in
Oldfox Canyon. [Lightning Essence], the Lightening Altar in Ruhalt Basin. [Wind
Essence], Chieftain's Hill in the Wasteland of Silence. Once you have them, give
them to Keitin.
-Rewards----------
Ring of Mother Nature
Kan Miracle
6000 EXP
How To:
This one is a bit of a doozy. You can zip around the world via Avis Transport to
get the Wind, Water, and Fire Essences, but you'll need to wait until you head
to Ruhalt via the main story to get the Lightning Essence. You'll need to use
the various vessels while in movement mode to obtain the essences. They're easy
to see, and the game tells you where to go to get them all. This is one of the
easier ones, really.
92) Revenge Thief
-Details----------
The Dunan Thief, who has a grudge against Juto, has issued a challenge. Go to
Ruhalt Plateau and meet with the Dunan Theif.
-Rewards----------
3000 EXP
How To:
On your way through Ruhalt Plateau (due to story events) you'll come across the
thief from your earlier travels through Dunan Field. He'll sick a Fatal Moth on
you; this thing fights just like every other creature that it looks like. It
does have a pretty strong eye laser attack that you should look out for, but if
you keep a healer ready, you'll do fine. The most annoying thing it does is fly
around the battlefield, making you chase it.
93) The Reeden Seal Stones
-Details----------
Smash the 5 seal stones and defeat the giant who was locked away by the Reeden
family. Details are in the letter from Kenaros. Report back to Kenaros once you
defeat the giant.
-Rewards----------
Bakuryu Ball
5000 EXP
How To:
There are 5 keys; four of them are in chests spread out across the game; if you
follow the guide, you'll get all of them. The last key is held by a monster that
lives in Oldfox Canyon, near the exit to Navyblue Marsh. It's called Volcano. If
you're level ~50 then you'll have no problem fighting it. Once you have all 5,
return to Dunan Field and go around unlocking the seal stones. They're those
floating rocks about the size of a house. The descriptions of the keys (which
are in your Items area) tell you where each stone is.
94) Royalty Mark 3: Lightning
-Details----------
The Avis worship a Lightning God whose anger has caused him to lose control of
himself. Appease his anger and hear what he has to say.
-Rewards----------
3500 EXP
How To:
The Essence of Lightning takes the form of a colossus-type enemy, which means
Juto can Counter it with (B). After that happens, it becomes significantly less
of a threat. Kill it, then speak with the spirit, then the Avis again.
95) Bluemoon Sacred Items
-Details----------
Recover the Bluemoon Trewa's 3 sacred items from the [High-ranking Blackthorn
Trewa] in Belfort. When you have them, give them to [Helga] in the Bluemoon
Trewa settlement.
-Rewards----------
Heaven Destroying Axe
4000 EXP
How To:
The first of the Trewa leaders is near the Reeden family home. Next, on the
steps leading to the area where you rescued Zephie from Schuenzeit. Last, but
not least, on the way towards the Sentinel Laboratory. Kill all three and
return to the Bluemoon Trewa settlement.
96) Lightning Cores
-Details----------
Acquire the [Lightning Core] at Belfort's [Sentinel Laboratory].
-Rewards----------
Shooting Star Shuirken
4000 EXP
How To:
There's an auxillary area near Lab 2 that we couldn't get into before. Now that
you have a key, you can grab the Lightning Core inside. It's the top left room,
if you were wondering. Oh, and you'll have to fight a Mad Scientist while
you're at it. Talk about cliched.
97) Royalty Mark 4: Wind
-Details----------
Undergo the trial at the [Wind Altar] on Ruhalt Plateau in order to become king.
-Rewards----------
Full Blossom
4000 EXP
How To:
Kill the Essence of Wind. It's exactly the same as the last two quests like
this. Zephie isn't that great, but Juto and Argo are! Skills like Vorpal Slash
and Five Edge to wonders. Speak with the Wind Spirit to end it.
98) Overcome Sadness
-Details----------
At Cota Mare, give Mare Chieftain Keitin the [Vaizen's Personal Effects] that
you got from the quicklime mound.
-Rewards----------
Eucalyptus
3000 EXP
How To:
Speak with Keitin in Cota Mare. Really, there's nothing I can tell you that you
didn't already know from the description.
99) The Wasteland of Silence
-Details----------
Take the Kan Essence and visit the Hunter [Myer], who is waiting at the
Wasteland of Silence.
-Rewards----------
1000 EXP
How To:
Seriously? You need help with this? Go to the Wasteland of Silence, which is
south of Abazet. Talk to the guy with the red checkmark on his head.
100) I'll Get Rich Quick!
-Details----------
Launch the Kan Essence in the southern Wasteland of Silence in the spot marked
by Myer to lure in the [Giant Moth]. Once it's killed, report back to [Hogton].
-Rewards----------
God's Eye
Confusion Defense
7000 EXP
How To:
The Giant Moth is a tad hard to hit, and has a nasty attack that can take out
3000 HP or so, but with a steady healer you'll do fine. Try and use an Ultimate
Technique or two. Co-op Techniques do pretty well here as well.
101) Cut the Chains of Revenge
-Details----------
Go to [Reinpolt Ruins] and meet [Dunan Thief].
-Rewards----------
Phantom Blade
3000 EXP
How To:
Self-explanatory.
