Venus Explorer v 1.0 8-9-2018 author: Dimetric Houston e-mail: dhousto7@gmail.com CONTENTS: Introduction Updates Story Controls Action Sequences Arcade Game Walkthrough Tips, Tricks and Secrets Credits ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTRODUCTION: Hello all. This FAQ covers the game Venus Explorer for the XBOX 360. It is an action-adventure game for the XBOX 360. The newest version of this FAQ can be found at the following sites: GameFAQs (www.gamefaqs.com) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATES: v 1.0 7-29-17 -FAQ started v 2.0 8-9-17 -corrections in Walkthrough section ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STORY none The game story is revealed as you go through it. Basically you (the character) are playing a computer game. The story is in the 'game within the game'. Enjoy the '80s style quirkiness. You will see references to other games of yesteryear and even an anime reference. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTROLS Control in Venus is quite simple. You will use the controller face buttons: X,Y,A,B for the majority of the game, but unlike other games of this ilk, there are a few parts where you use the control stick to maneuver your character. The game presents all button choices with nice, big colored circles that match the color and letter on the controller. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACTION SEQUENCES These are the only and actual "action" part of the game, and is the only places where you use the control stick. You move your character around the screen, either to reach the other end of the screen, or to dodge oncoming objects until the sequence ends. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ARCADE GAME There is a certain area in the game, where if you press the correct button, you will play a "game within the game." You will play a fighting game that is akin to Street Fighter. However, it is not an actual fighting game; you only use the face buttons to choose attacks. Like other choices in the actual game, if you make the wrong choice, you "lose", and the arcade game ends. You will then proceed with the regular game. A walkthrough of the Arcade Game will be in the Tips, Tricks, and Secrets section. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WALKTHROUGH This walkthrough is designed to help you through the complex maze of Venus Explorer. The game is extremely simple once you know which path to choose. Before that knowledge comes to fruition however, one must endure many hours of making wrong choices, apparently going in circles and meeting Game Over screens (unless you have some touch of Divine Favor that grants you always-make-the-right-choice-the-first-time talent---something we common folk call "luck"). This walkthrough will alleviate those frustrating moments. Actions sequences are not mentioned, as their appearance is totally random. Abbreviations used: ------------------ Fight Room - you face an opponent in this room and must choose the correct button to defeat them. The buttons are shown on the bottom of the screen and are linked to a certain attack type. Pressing the correct button defeats the opponent. Pressing the incorrect button gets you defeated and a Game Over. Don't rush. You have all the time in the world to make a choice. INTRO: ====== Just follow the prompts. At the one place where you have a choice of A or B, A is the correct option. Choosing B will put you in a loop where eventually you have to press A to continue the game. Room 1 ============== correct choice: A | X | X and B loop | B | | A | ============== Room 2 ============== correct choice: A | A | B loops | B | ============== Press any button to continue when doing the fall; it will go on forever if you don't press anything Room 3 ============== correct choice: B | X | X loops | B | ============== Room 4 ============== correct choice: X | Y | Y loops | A | ============== After the prompts, press any button to continue; it will go on forever if you don't press anything Room 5 ============== correct choice: either | X | | B | ============== Room 6 ============== | ACTION | Your first action sequence! Move your character up the screen. | SEQUENCE | Avoid the glowing heads. Your goal is the top exit, which you ============== will eventually reach as you keep going. Room 7 ============== Correct Choice: B | A | X and A also work; they just lead to a longer choice sequence | X B | B is the shortest path of progress ============== Room 8 ============== Correct Choice: any | Y | go to 9-1 if choosing B | B A | go to 9-2 if choosing A ============== Room 9-1 Room 9-2 ============== Correct Choice: B ========= Correct Choice: A | B | the other buttons | A | (this gives the hint for | X | are all dialog | B | the Arcade Game) | Y | ========= | A | ============== Room 10 ============== Correct Choice: either | X | B is faster | B | X leads to an additional scene ============== Room 11 ============== Fight Room (cyclops) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: B | | X and A are death ============== IMPORTANT NOTE ****************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** Follow long path of prompts. When you get to the screen that has Y as a choice, DO NOT PRESS IT YET. Now listen closely. If you press Y, you continue on with the regular game. However, right next to the door is the Arcade Game that has been mentioned throughout this FAQ. It is next to the green wormlike creature. ***Press A to play the Arcade Game***** Now do the controller motions that appear on the screen. If you do it successfully, the Arcade Game will start. See the Tips, Tricks, and Secrets section for a walkthrough on the Arcade Game ****************************************************************************** ****************************************************************************** Room 12 ============== Correct Choice: any | X B | all the buttons lead to the same place, although A is faster. | A | ============== Room 13 ============== Fight Room (monster) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: A | | All other buttons are death ============== Room 13-1 ============== Fight Room (monster-continued) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: A | | -this is a continuation of the previous fight ============== Room 14 ============== correct choice: any | X | (choose B after making a choice to continue on) | Y | | B | ============== Room 15 ============== Path Room | | (I forgot the buttons, just follow what appears) | | ============== Room 16 ============== | ACTION | Your second and last action sequence. Use the control stick to | SEQUENCE | maneuver your craft. Avoid the asteroids. ============== Make it through the Action Sequence and you win!! The rest is just dialog. The End ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIPS, TRICKS, AND SECRETS For the 2nd action sequence, the very bottom of the screen seems to be the safest place to be. You will still have to move some, but not near as much as if you were elsewhere. If you put your craft at the bottom of the screen, you will see that your craft is about three rows high. There are three rows of stars that zip by you, and those rows are about three high. If you see an asteroid anywhere inside of those three rows, you will need to move your craft to avoid getting hit. Most asteroids will be right at the top of the third row stars, so you will be safe, even if it doesn't look like it. However, look carefully so you can be sure. Things move mighty fast in this action sequence. ARCADE GAME: =========== Ok, here is the "walkthrough" for the Arcade Game, which is a parody of Street Fighter. You are the character known as Ryu. You are facing several opponents where you must choose the correct button for a particular action. Below I will list the enemy and the appropriate choice you need to make. I will not mention the parts where you press the button to continue through certain actions (eg. Pressing 'A' to change from scene to scene). I am only showing the parts where button choices can give you a GAME OVER or continuing on. Icedoll: -------- Battle 1 | Battle 2 | -----------|------------| X | X | B-choose | B | | A | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CREDITS God--for the strength, life, and intellect to do this FAQ I hope you have enjoyed this FAQ.
