BIOSHOCK INFINITE VIGOR INFO GUIDE by Word304 (all content herein was not created by me.) ################################################################################ BUCKING BRONCO ################################################################################ *Bucking Bronco is a Vigor that allows Booker to briefly raise enemies into the air and hold them in place for a short time, allowing him to attack without them fighting back. *Bucking Bronco is found in the Hall of Heroes early in the game. *This Vigor has quite a wide effect range, and works by sending out a wave across the ground in a straight line ahead of Booker. As such it's best to try and line up a couple of enemies in front of where you want to throw Bucking Bronco, allowing for two easy kills. Very useful as a trap against firemen on 1999 mode for safe takedowns. When enemies are raised, they take increased damage. *Bucking Bronco can be combined together with both Devil's Kiss and Charge to meet two of the prerequisites for unlocking the achievement/trophy Combination Shock. *COMBOS: Use bucking bronco then quickly fire a devils kiss underneath your opponent. Use bucking bronco the use devils kiss underneath them then use a shock jockey to make them fall highly use full against large amounts of enemies.Use bucking bronco then use the crows then fire at will. ################################################################################ CHARGE: ################################################################################ *Charge is a high-impact melee hit that allows Booker to target enemies at a distance and then charge toward them. Charge can be found in Finkton Proper. *Holding down the trigger for longer allows Booker to deliver a higher-impact strike when released. This will generally sever an enemies' head and - naturally - result in death for that enemy. *This Vigor is generally only useful against humanoid enemies - if you charge something like a Handyman, it really isn't going to be that effective. *Charge is also required as part of the Combination Shock achievement/trophy. It can be combined together with two combinations, Bucking Bronco and Devil's Kiss. *The Devil's Kiss and Charge combination is great fun - the enemy who you've set on fire will explode after you charge them. Great for room clearance. ################################################################################ DEVIL'S KISS ################################################################################ *Devil's Kiss is created by Fink Manufacturing and is a fire-based Vigor. Players can throw a fire ball that burns nearby enemies, or create a burning trap that lights up any enemies who walk through it. Devil's Kiss is acquired after defeating the Fireman in Raffle Square. *This Vigor is extremely effective at dealing damage to most enemy types. The only enemies it isn't particularly effective against is airbone enemies such as the Mosquito, unless a direct hit can be made. *Devil's Kiss is also required as part of the Combination Shock achievement/trophy. It can be combined together with four other vigors: Charge, Bucking Bronco, Possession, and Murder of Crows. *Battle Strategies: If you prefer the offensive style of gameplay it is best to justaim this vigor at enemies that are clustered together. However if you are playing defensively it is helpful if you place traps and lure enemies into them. ################################################################################ MURDER OF CROWS ################################################################################ *Murder of Crows is obtained after defeating the Crow in Comstock Center Rooftops. *Murder of Crows lets players unleash a swarm of crows that will attack enemies. The trap version is referred to as a Crows' Nest, which will unleash crows upon any enemy who walks across them. *Sending a Murder towards an enemy has a dual effect - it will both immobilise that enemy, and will also cause damage over a time period. This allows you to get in close and easily dispatch an enemy with a well timed shotgun blast or other, more creative kills. Best used to distract groups of enemies or escape to cover. *Here's a handy little tip for you: make sure you equip both the Murder of Crows and Devil's Kiss/Shock Jockey Vigors. Once you've done this, lob a Murder towards an enemy, switch to Devil's Kiss/Shock Jockey and enjoy the effects. *This vigor comes to most use if you are being cornered by enemies. This is helpful in putting some distance between you and the enemies. It also allows players the opportunity to come close to get a couple of shotgun shots. ################################################################################ POSSESSION ################################################################################ *Possession gives Booker "irresistible charm" and allows him to confuse enemies into fighting for him instead of against him. *Possession only affects machines at first, but can later be upgraded to affect humans. *Possession is the first Vigor the player discovers, handed out as a "sample" in Columbia before the player begins searching for a way to Monument Island. *Posession is extremely useful for turning the tide of battle in your favour should you be being attacked by machines such as an Automated Turret or Mosquito. Since these are generally accompanied by other enemies, possessing one of these machines means you can easily dispatch other enemies as they become distracted by the sudden betrayal of their automated equipment. Motorized Patriots and Gun Automaton's are extremely valuable in a large fire fight. *Possessing humans has much the same effect, but they're generally not as durable. If the possessed human survives either the firefight or the duration of the Vigor's effect he will promptly commit suicide. No, we're not sure why either. *on Heavy Hitters, Possession lasts half the time, and they won't kill themselves *Mechanical beings like Turrets won't kill themselves and will turn on you as soon as the effect is over *It has no effect at all on the Handyman and the Siren. *Use it on Vending Machines to obtain their money ! (works once per machine). *COMBOS: +Devil's Kiss=walking firestorm +Shock Jockey=walking electrical storm ################################################################################ RETURN TO SENDER: ################################################################################ *Return to Sender is a Vigor that lets Booker absorb incoming enemy projectiles and may be upgraded to redirect them towards their origin. Return to Sender can be found in the Salty Oyster's secret room in Port Prosperity, or in a crate after going through the Harmony Lane gate in Downtown Emporia. *Return to Sender is immensely useful in large fire fights, particularly when you're being shot at from multiple angles, or if you're searching for a sniper. *Tapping the button protects you from most damage and lets you return the favor with your own weapon. Holding down the button protects you by forming a magnetic shield, allowing you to absorb enemy attacks and throw them back as a powerful explosive burst when you lift the button or the shield goes down. This Vigor works particulary well against any Motorized Patriot. *It should be noted that holding the trigger down to use Return To Sender's magnetic shield ability is generally a massive drain on your Salt stocks. You should only really rely on this when absolutely necessary. *This ability can also be used to great effect when fighting Firemen. Simply wait for them to throw Devil's Kiss fireballs at you, active the Vigor, grab the fireballs and then throw them at other enemies for easy kills. *This and Undertow stand as the most likely replacements for the original Bioshock's Telekinesis. This ability is the closest to what was shown in the original Bioshock Infinite demo of Booker catching a mortar shell and returning it to whence it came. ################################################################################ SHOCK JOCKEY ################################################################################ *Shock Jockey is an electric power that offers the ability to stun enemies, similar to the Electro Bolt Plasmid in the original BioShock. *If Shock Jockey is held longer it creates an electro trap that can stun multiple enemies who are lured into it. *For the achievement/trophy Combination Shock, Shock Jockey must be combined with either Possession, Murder of Crows, or Undertow. *With this vigor you can also shock puddles to cause enemies to be stuck taking continual damage. This unlocks theHazard Pay trophy/achievement. *Shock Jockey is also used as an artificial source of electricity in Columbia and players obtain it after finding Slate in the Hall of Heroes Gift Shop. This can be used to access certain areas which require power to access. *When you are caught in a bind Shock Jockey can be used to put some space between you and the enemies. It also gives you some time to reload as well. However it is highly recommended to avoid using Shock Jockey against a Handyman. *Combining undertow with shock jockey can be an extremely effective strategy. Simply pull enemies to you and then electrify them while they are being held in the water. A helpful aspect of shock jockey is also the fact that once upgraded can stun multiple enemies, thus allowing Booker to fire a vigor or a heavy weapon to clear the room. ################################################################################ UNDERTOW ################################################################################ *Undertow is a ranged mass-manipulation power that allows Booker to use a stream of water to pull an enemy closer to him (hold the Vigor button) or to push them away (tap the Vigor button). Undertow can be found in The Factory. *Undertow can also be used as a means of pulling various enemies (if upgraded) into a devil's kiss trap or even a shock jockey trap. Undertow is also useful in the aspect that it can be used to knock enemies off Columbia even some heavy hitters such as the fire man or the crow. Can be used as a means of esape from a Handyman, especially when using a skyline. *If the upgrade has been acquired, and the player is able to use Undertow to grab more than one enemy, it is more ammunition-efficient to go to the side of the enemies directly after they are pulled in front of the player and shoot from the side, elimanting the need for greater accuracy or speed. The idea behind this is that once the enemy being shot at first dies, the enemy directly next to the first one will become the one hit by the bullets, making the system more efficient and keeping all enemies in sight. *Another way to quickly dispatch your enemies with an upgraded Undertow, is to bring your enemies to your a trap that you've placed. This trick is most effective when combined with the Shock Jocky trap, since the effect is roughly as effective as shocking an enemy who is standing in water, causing extra damage that could instantly kill weaker enemies while severely damaging the stronger ones. You can also pull the enemy in to a Devil's Kiss trap which will immediately incinerate multiple enemies. *Additionally, in outdoor areas if you stand near the edge of the map you can use an upgraded undertow to pull three enemies toward you and then another standard undertow blast to throw them off of the edge. This is espsecially useful if you are low on ammo or are being overwhelmed by large numbers of enemies. This can also be helpful when dealing with the stronger enemies whether it be the beasts or the fireman as it can knock them off or even push them back if you need to recharge your shield. *During the final battle, if you are having trouble with motorized patriots and have upgraded the range of undertow, you can pull them up to the sniper platform where they will be unable to do damage to the ship's core.
