Avalis Dungeon 3 v 1.1 5-13-2017 author: Dimetric Houston e-mail: dhousto7@gmail.com CONTENTS: Introduction Updates Story Controls Walkthrough Tips, Tricks and Secrets Credits ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTRODUCTION: Hello all. This FAQ covers the game Avalis Dungeon 3 for the XBOX 360. It is a role-playing game. It is the third in the series of Avalis Dungeon games for the XBOX 360. The Avalis Dungeon games are a series of Role-Playing games designed by the Indie group Team Shuriken. The games are simple maze-type games where the player pushes a button to make choices to travel to different rooms and complete actions. The Avalis Dungeon games are: Avalis Dungeon 1 Avalis Dungeon 2 Avalis Dungeon 3 This FAQ only covers Avalis Dungeon 3. The newest version of this FAQ can be found at the following sites: GameFAQs (www.gamefaqs.com) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATES: v 0.1 4-29-17 -Preliminary edition. v 0.2 4-30-17 -updated Story section -updated Controls section -updated Walkthough section v 1.0 5-13-17 -updated Walkthrough section ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STORY (quote verbatim from game) TARA Description: Trapped in an Evil lord dungeon, whe was rescued by her brother Erik (in Avalis Dungeon 2). Angry after suffering the tortures of Demonia, she decided to devote her life to eiliminate the minions of Evil Lord by becoming an experienced warrior Priest (like Athena in Avalis Dungeon 1") Special Attacks - Fire and Ice Spells Note: Tara was a character in this game's immediate prequel, Avalis Dungeon 2. However, you can completely miss this character depending on certain choices made in that game. So if you have never seen Tara in Avalis Dungeon 2, try other choices when playing that game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTROLS Control in the Avalis Dungeon games is extremely simple. You will only use the controller face buttons: X,Y,A,B. No other buttons are used during actual game play. The game presents all button choices with nice, big colored circles that match the color and letter on the controller. When it comes to attacks, the button functions are linked to the attacks listed below: A-Spear B-Fire Spell X-Ice Spell ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WALKTHROUGH This walkthrough is designed to help you through the complex maze of Avalis Dungeon 3. The Avalis Games are extremely simple once you know which path to choose. Before that knowledge comes to fruition however, one must endure many hours of making wrong choices, apparently going in circles and meeting Game Over screens (unless you have some touch of Divine Favor that grants you always-make-the-right-choice-the-first-time talent---something we common folk call "luck"). This walkthrough will alleviate those frustrating moments. Abbreviations used: ------------------ Path Room - these are a series of rooms (usually 4) that give only one button choice. The button choices will be shown sequentially, therefore this title of Path Room indicates all the rooms that follow this pattern. Fight Room - you face an opponent in this room and must choose the correct button to defeat them. The buttons are shown on the lower right of the screen and are linked to a certain attack type. Pressing the correct button defeats the opponent. Pressing the incorrect button gets you defeated and a Game Over. Don't rush. You have all the time in the world to make a choice. Obstacle Room - you face a room with an obstacle and must choose the correct action to overcome it. The action choices available will have a controller button shown next to it. Choosing the correct action gets you past the obstacle. Choosing the incorrect actions gets you a Game Over. Action Room - in this room you have a button choice that causes an action to occur. The resulting action can open a new path, or cause an effect somewhere later in the dungeon. Actions examples are throwing a switch, using a bomb, using an item, etc. Death Room - These are rooms that give you an instant Game Over when you enter them. When you enter it, the screen fills up blue as if the room is filling with water, essentially drowning you. So be VERY careful about your button presses! I've hit a death room more than I can count due to complacency and hitting buttons quickly in sequence. Note: The game doesn't actually have "Phases." I'm just using that to provide notification of major turning points in the game. PHASE 1 ------- Room 1 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 2 ============== correct choice: X | Y | | X B | ============== Room 3-1 (if chose x in Room 2) ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-2 ============== correct choice: B | Y | X and A lead to dead ends | X B | Y leads to a dialog scene, then returns to this room | A | ============== Room 3-3 ============== Path Room | | | Y-B-Y-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-4 ============== Path Room | use torch | | Y-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-5 ============== Correct Choice: X | B | | X Y | ============== Room 3-6 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-3 ============== Fight Room (sword warrior) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: any | | ============== Room 3-4 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-5 ============== correct choice: X | Y | | X | ============== Room 3-6 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-7 ============== Obtain Bow | | | Y | ============== Room 3-8 ============== correct choice: X | Y | | X | ============== Room 3-9 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-10 ============== correct choice: X | Y | | X | ============== Room 3-11 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-12 ============== Correct choice: X | Y | Y uses a Bow | X | ============== Room 3-13 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-14 ============== Correct Choice: Y | | B will take you to room to obtain the Bomb. Room 3-15 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-16 ============== Obtain Key | | | Y | ============== Room 3-17 ============== Correct choice: X | X | | Y | ============== Room 3-18 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-19 ============== Correct choice: Y | A | A is dead end | Y B | ============== Room 3-20 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-21 ============== Fight Room (spear warrior) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: X | | ============== Room 3-21 ============== correct choice: B | Y | (I have to recheck this room. B is the correct choice, but I | X B | do not remember if this room has X and Y or just one of them.) ============== Room 3-22 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-23 ============== Obtain Rope | | | Y | ============== Room 3-24 ============== Correct choice: X | Y | Y uses a Bow | X | ============== Room 3-25 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 3-21 ============== correct choice: X | | B leads to dialog | X B | ============== Follow Prompts. End of Phase 1 PHASE 2 ------- After the series of scenes, you can move about again. Any items you gained before are gone. WARNING: Death rooms start appearing at this point. The path I point out below is the path to win. So if a letter is not mentioned for the correct choice, it could be a death room, or another path. Room 1 (checkpoint 2) ------ -open the chest to regain all the items you obtained before your capture Room 1 ============== correct choice: X | Y | | X B | ============== Room 2-5 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 6 ============== correct choice: A | Y | | X B | | A | ============== Room 7 ============== correct choice: -- | A | The choices are sequential: A, then Y | Y | No incorrect choices available ============== Room 8-11 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 12 ============== correct choice: B | Y | Action Room: Y uses a bomb. | X B | ============== Room 13-16 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 17 ============== correct choice: X | Y | Action Room: Y uses a bow. | X B | ============== Room 18-21 ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== Room 22 ============== correct choice: B | A | | Y | | X B | ============== Room 23 ============== correct choice: X | A | | Y | | X B | ============== Aside: Yes, I know. Room 23 is a darker version of Room 22, not to mention the B to X choice makes it look like you going right back where you came from. Totally weird. Room 24 ============== Fight Room (Hammer Warrior) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: any | | ============== Room 25-27 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y-X | ============== Room 28 ============== Obstacle Room- Swinging Axes | | Correct Choice: B | X Y B | ============== Room 29 ============== Scene Room: Remember this advice | SCENE | | | ============== PHASE 3 ------- This is the last major turning point in the game. Death rooms are much more frequent in this phase, so follow path advice carefully. Some death rooms are identified by "death," just so you get an idea. I will temporarily use a new categorization until this can be better organized. Avalis Dungeon 3 does a good job of making this part of the game as frustrating as possibe, especially with the frequent death rooms. Ok, my categorization is as follows. I will use the phrases "Bow Room", "Bomb Room", and "Path Room." When I use the term "Bow Room", the room looks like this: Room ?? ============== Y uses a bow | Y | | X B | ============== When I use the phrase "Bomb Room", the room looks like this: Room ?? ============== Y uses a bomb | Y | | X B | ============== Path Rooms are always as follows: Room ?? ============== Path Room | | | Y-X-Y-Y | ============== This is the MAJOR rule of thumb for this phase of the game. As far as I have seen, pick X for all Bow Rooms, and B for all Bomb Rooms. Bow Rooms have Y as death, and Bomb Rooms have X as death. So for a pictoral review: Room ?? ============== Y uses a bow | Y | Correct Choice: **B** | X B | Y is death ============== Room ?? ============== Y uses a bomb | Y | Correct Choice: **X** | X B | X is death ============== Now for a QUICK walkthrough to the final area of the game. After Room 29, the path is as follows: Path Room --> Bow Room --> Path Room -->Bomb Room --> Path Room --> A, A, Y --> Path Room --> B --> Path Room --> Bow Room --> Bomb Room --> Path Room Room 30 ============== Correct choice: X | Y | (yes, follow the blood) | X(blood) B | ============== Room 31 ============== Path Room | | | Y | ============== Room 32 (red) ============== correct choice: Y | A | X is death | Y | A & B lead to Room 6 | X B | ============== Room 33 ============== Fight Room (Yellow Goddess) | FIGHT | Correct Choice: X | | ============== Room 34 ============== Obtain Gold Key | | | Y | ============== Room 35 ============== Path Room | | | Y-Y | ============== Room 36 ============== correct choice: B | A | | Y | | X B | ============== Room 33 ============== Fight Room (Red Goddess) | FINAL | Correct Choice: Y | FIGHT | ============== You win!! That's it for now, more in the next update! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIPS, TRICKS, AND SECRETS You don't have to worry about permanently missing any items. You can miss getting some items during Phase 2, but when you get to Phase 2, you will get all the items anyway (except for the last one) when you open the chest at the beginning of Phase 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CREDITS God--for the strength, life, and intellect to do this FAQ I hope you have enjoyed this FAQ.
