===Decay: The Mare- Episode I Walkthrough=== by: Jason Tandro =How To Use This Walkthrough= Unlike my previous FAQs, I am going to simply use a Checklist Walkthrough, mainly because the puzzle pieces in the game are relatively self-explanatory. =Credit= Obviously I owe a great deal of credit to Shining Gate Software for making this awesome game series. I also need to thank DroidGameFan on Youtube for helping me figure out the button puzzle and plate puzzle. This is a chronological walkthrough. Note even though these are probably not the technical names, I am addressing the starting floor as Floor 1 and all subsequent floors as basement levels. /Floor 1- Starting Out/ 1. Choose to take or skip the tutorial. 2. Turn around. 3. Attempt to open the door. 4. Turn around again. 5. COIN: The first coin can be found on the shelf now that you've turned around again. Look about halfway down the right side on the only non-broken shelf to see it. 6. Go through the door. /Floor 1- Portrait Rooms/ 1. Ignore the blank portraits for now and turn right. 2. Go through the door. 3. Examine the ladder in the next room. 4. COIN: The second coin is on the floor to the right of the ladder, just above a piece of paper. 5. ITEM: NOTE - Take the Note which is just above the ladder. Read it. 6. Go downstairs. /Floor B1- Trapdoor Room/ 1. Examine the trapdoor. 2. COIN: The third coin is to the left of the trapdoor in plain sight. 3. ITEM: CAMERA - Take the camera, sitting on top of the right side of the trap door. 4. Go up the ladder. /Floor 1- Portrait Rooms (2nd Visit)/ 1. When you turn around to enter the room with the blank portraits, take a moment to take a picture with the camera. 2. When you are back in the room with the blank portraits, take a picture. You can examine them first if you wish to get a closer look. This reveals the code 6044. 3. Examine the door on the end of this room. 4. Enter the code 6044 5. Enter the room. 6. Examine the table in the back of the room. 7. ITEM: KEY - The keys that are a little hard to see hanging on the left wall. 8. Back out of the table. 9. COIN: The fourth coin is a bit hard to see but it is sitting atop the green table on the right side of this room. 10. When you turn to leave, take a picture. 11. Return to the starting area. /Floor 1- Starting Area (2nd Visit)/ 1. Go down the ladder. /Floor B1- Ruined Hallway/ 1. Before proceeding, turn around. 2. Examine the door on the floor. 3. ITEM: PLATE - The Plate is sitting here to the left of the door. 4. COIN: The fifth coin is sitting just above the plate. 5. Back out and turn back around. 6. Examine the door. 7. ITEM: NOTE- Take the note on the wall. Read it. 8. Use the key to unlock the door. 9. Enter the door. / Floor B1- Office/ 1. Examine the table 2. COIN: The sixth coin can be found by opening the drawer here. 3. ITEM: NOTES - Take any one of the post-its here to take them all. Study them carefully. 4. Back out and enter the door. / Floor B1- Button Puzzle / 1. Examine the pedestal. 2. Press the buttons in the following order: 1,3,2,5,4,6. 3. Return to the Ruined Hallway. 4. COIN: The seventh coin can be found in the cracks of a palette against the left wall. Look carefully. / Floor B1- Ruined Hallway (2nd Visit) / 1. Examine the door with the 2 on it. 2. NAIL: The first nail can be found by following the map on the BLUE note. Just look above and to the right of the number 2. 3. Go all the way back to the Trapdoor Room. / Floor B1- Trapdoor Room (2nd Visit) / 1. Examine the trapdoor. 2. ITEM: KEY - Take the key here. 3. NAIL: When you turn around find the nail by using the map on the PURPLE note. It is above the bottom tier of the pallet on the right side. 4. Return to the Ruined Hallway. / Floor B1- Ruined Hallway (3rd Visit) / 1. Turn around. 2. Examine the door on the floor. 3. Use the key to unlock the door. 4. Go down the ladder. / Floor B2- Wrecked Lobby / 1. Examine the door to the left of the scary as hell portrait. 2. NAIL: This nail can be found using the map on the YELLOW note. It is on the bottom shelf. 3. COIN: The eighth coin is just beneath the afforementioned portrait, on the ground. 4. Examine the number panel. 5. No, it's not that simple. Take a picture with the camera to see the real number placement. 6. Enter 8212 as it appears when not looking through the camera. 7. Enter the door. / Floor B2- Gated Hallway / 1. Examine the table. 2. ITEM: Monocular- Take the monocular on the table. 3. NAIL: The last nail can be found following the map on the GREEN note. It is hidden in one of the bars. 4. Return to the Wrecked Lobby area. / Floor B2- Wrecked Lobby (2nd Visit)/ 1. This time go through the white door up the stairs. / Floor B2- Annex / 1. Examine the portrait on the left wall. 2. Click on it again to move it. 3. Use the monocular to see the code 1686. 4. Back out and examine the box on the right wall. 5. Enter 1686. 6. Return to the portrait and use the monocular again. 7. You'll see the code 9891. 8. Return to the box and enter 9891. 9. ITEM: KEY - The key is right there in the box. 10. COIN: The ninth coin is also in the box on the upper right side. 11. Return to the Gated Hallway. / Floor B2- Gated Hallway (2nd Visit)/ 1. This time head all the way to the end of the hallway. 2. Use the key to open the door. / Floor B2- Dark Hallway / 1. Take pictures with the hallway to navigate yourself around the corner. 2. At the end of the corner enter the door. / Floor B2- Jack's Apartment / 1. Examine the table on the left. 2. Examine the bag. 3. Use the nails. 4. ITEM: PLATE - Take the plate that is revealed. 5. Examine the fridge in the back. 6. Open the box. 7. Examine the box. 8. Back out and turn around to leave. 9. COIN: The final coin can be found on the left hand wall, in roughly the middle, resting on the moulding. 10. ITEM: NOTE - The note is also right in plain sight. Read it. 11. Return to the Dark Hallway. /Floor B2- Dark Hallway (2nd Visit)/ 1. Going through the Dark Hallway this time will be a bit more gruesome. 2. For additional scares, turn around and take pictures. 3. When you are ready head all the way back to the Floor 1 - Portrait Rooms. /Floor 1- Portrait Rooms (Final Visit)/ 1. Enter the door at the end where you got your first keys. 2. Examine the table. 3. Use both plates. 4. Press the button to begin the plate puzzle. /Floor 1 - Plate Puzzle/ 1. Arrange the plates so that you have the following results: PLATE 1, ROW 1: 2,1,2 PLATE 1, ROW 2: 2,1,2 PLATE 1, ROW 3: 1,1,2 PLATE 2, ROW 1: 2,2,1 PLATE 2, ROW 2: 1,1,2 PLATE 2, ROW 3: 2,2,1 PLATE 3, ROW 1: 2,2,2 PLATE 3, ROW 2: 2,2,2 PLATE 3, ROW 3: 2,1,2 2. Wondering what's going on? Don't think of it as addition, think of it as overlapping shapes. 3. Press the button. 4. Return to the starting area. /Floor 1- Starting Area (Final Visit)/ 1. Enter the newly reappeared door. 2. When you wake up, simply turn around and leave your room.
