====================================================================== Introduction [0100] ====================================================================== Welcome to my trophy guide for Dead Space 3! This is a written guide on how to get every trophy in the game and add it to your platinum collection. It now also includes a guide for the Awakened DLC trophies. Hope it helps! ====================================================================== Version [0200] ====================================================================== This is the second version of the trophy guide. A guide for the Awakened DLC trophies has now been added. I'll only update the guide if I see any mistakes or if new DLC comes out. ====================================================================== Trophy Breakdown [0300] ====================================================================== Platinum Trophy - Yes Gold Trophies - 2 Silver Trophies - 7 Bronze Trophies - 41 Hidden Trophies - 16 Platinum Difficulty - 7/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Awakened DLC ************ Gold Trophies - 0 Silver Trophies - 4 Bronze Trophies - 4 Hidden Trophies - 4 100% Difficulty - 3/10 ====================================================================== Trophy Guide [0400] ====================================================================== Brave New World [0401] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Platinum Description: Obtain all trophies Self explanatory. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Stranger in a Strange Land [0402] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Complete the Prologue Story related. The Prologue is very short and easy, so you won't have a problem beating it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Space Odyssey [0403] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Survive your first spacewalk Story related. You will have a short free-flying sequence right after leaving the Eudora. Avoid all mines and debris and you'll get the trophy after setting down on the catwalk and opening the door. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Critical Mass [0404] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Recover the shuttle Story related. After finding all of the parts, you'll have to refuel the shuttle. While refueling, defend yourself from all of the Wasters and wait until it is done. When finished, Ellie will start the launch sequence and the whole area will get heated up. Now, you'll just have to run for it, dodging fire, necromorphs, and the Regenerators. Eventually, you'll reach a room with a bunch of explosives and a gun. Hop on the gun and start clearing the gears by shooting the explosives that are jamming them. When you clear all of the explosives, you'll be sucked into space and the trophy will be yours. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Snow Crash [0405] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Reach Tau Volantis Story related. Chapter 7 will be your trip to Tau Volantis, and it will be a rough ride. After a minute or two of shooting and maneuvering, the ship will crash on Tau Volantis, earning you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Intestinal Fortitude [0406] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver (Hidden) Description: Defeat the Hive Mind Story related. The Hive Mind fight is in Chapter 12. During the first part of the fight, it will slam it's tentacles, which you can avoid easily by rolling. It will also spit out these orange blobs which will hatch feeders if you don't shoot them first. Every once in a while, its heart will be exposed, and you have to shoot it. When you hit the heart enough, it will try to suck you in. During this, you will have to shoot the yellow spots around its mouth. You will repeat this a few times. Then, it will suck you in, since you have no more yellow spots around its mouth to shoot. The second part of the fight is in its stomach. Here, you will just have to kill all three of the nests. Avoid their missiles/projectiles and shoot the orange parts of their tentacles. When all of the nests are killed, the Hive Mind will spit you out, giving you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hydra [0407] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Kill the Snowbeast Story related. You have three encounters with the Snowbeast throughout the game. The first two, you just have to shoot the yellow sacks that he exposes, roll, and dodge. During the third encounter, you'll have to run past it and get over to the harpoon guns. Wind them up with Kinesis and lead the beast into their path. They will both pierce him, also trapping him. Now, use Kinesis on the torque bar to tighten the ropes of the harpoons, ripping apart, and killing him. You will then get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Together as One [0408] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Reassemble Rosetta Story related. During Chapter 15, you will be told to find pieces of Rosetta, who was supposedly cut to pieces which were stored throughout all of the buildings. You'll find all of the pieces by following your locator. When you get all of the pieces, you'll have to go back to the Assembly Lab. Use Kinesis to move all of the pieces around until they all fit together. You can get a good view if you step back. When you get it right, all of the pieces will slide together in the center of the assembly station and you will hear "Assembly Complete". ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Infernal Machine [0409] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Reach the Alien Machine Story related. Chapter 18 is all about fixing the Alien Machine. You'll have to solve many different Kinesis related puzzles, and go through a few free-flying sequences. When you get back to the machine, kill all of the Unitologists that come after you and put the three batteries in the corresponding slots. When this is done, a door to the heart of the machine will open, earning you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shoot for the Moon [0410] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Gold (Hidden) Description: Defeat the Moon Story related. The Moon is the final boss, in Chapter 19. You will have to spend the whole first part of the chapter running for your life as everything falls apart behind you. Luckily, there is a Bench and Suit Kiosk right before the fight, so you can craft ammo, health, and even a better weapon if necessary. Finally, open the door. Everything will get sucked out, including Isaac. You will have one last free-flying sequence before the final battle, so avoid all debris on your way down. Isaac will then come down on a chunk of rock, starting the fight. It's really not too difficult. When he shows his eye, grab a marker with Kinesis and shoot it at it. It will often throw chunks of rock at you, which hatch slashers and the twitchers, which I bitterly hate. Kill them, and wait for his eye, then grab a marker and shoot. A few times, the Moon will grab the rock you are on and try to pull you in. Shoot the yellow spots on the tentacles to avoid this. Keep all of this in mind. When you hit all three of its eyes, it will put the machine in its mouth. Stand on the Kinesis booster and pull it through the Moon's guts. Now, run towards Carver and he will pull you up to the rock. You will see one last cutscene, and get the trophy. Congratulations, you have beaten the game! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Under a Buck [0411] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Shoot the deer head trophy in the Admiral's Quarters This is earned in Chapter 4. When you take the elevator up to the Admiral's Quarters, you will see a deer head on the wall right before the doorway. Shoot it to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Space Ace [0412] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Shoot at least 70 targets during the ride to Tau Volantis The ride to Tau Volantis is in Chapter 7. This trophy can be annoying, as you'll have to play through the chapter again if you don't get it. Basically, you want to hold the button until you are locked onto several targets at once. Just keep doing this and steering clear of all objects. As long as you lock on to a good amount of objects at once and keep your focus on the game, you'll get it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hungry [0413] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Reach the pump room of the Waystation without alerting any Feeders This is done in Chapter 9, after finding Buckell. When you take the elevator down, this is where the trophy will start. Stick to the wall to avoid them, and don't run or stomp anything. When you go through one of the doors, you will hear a Feeder bang against a door. Don't worry, this is uncontrollable and doesn't affect the trophy. When you reach the pump room, you'll get the trophy. By the way, "alerting" them means having a bunch of them coming after you, so you'll know if you mess up. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Drill Sergeant [0414] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Complete the Drill Room without taking any damage The drill room is in Chapter 10. People make this one a lot harder than it actually is. If you use the Devil's Horns, you can do it without it even being a close shave. You can earn the Devil's Horns by completing the game in Classic mode (see Epic Tier 4 Engineer). It is a one-shot kill on every necromorph with almost an infinite ammo capacity, so you can clear out the necromorphs faster, giving you more time to deal with the drill. Just use Stasis on it, and shoot the yellow core to damage it. I recommend that you get the Devil's Horns to do this, but it will work with other weapons as well. But anyway, here is how to make it easy: Necromorphs only come from the far two windows across from you on the drill platform. So basically, as long as you stay in the same spot, you'll have a clear shot at all necromorphs and you won't have any coming up from behind you. Make sure you are standing next to a Stasis charger, and continually shoot the drill with Stasis. Shoot all of the necromorphs, and put the drill in Stasis so it can't move and force you out of your position. When all of the necromorphs are cleared, shoot the drill's core. When the next wave starts, do the same thing. The third wave will have Feeders coming after you, so it will add a little trouble. You can kill them easily with a single shotgun blast, (or the Devil's Horns!) so you can put your focus back on the drill and finish it off. When you pull it off, the trophy will pop after leaving the drill room. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Weedkiller [0415] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver (Hidden) Description: Kill 5 Cysts in the Biology building with a single poison gas cloud. Cysts are the necromorphs on the ground that act as a land-mine system. If you get close to them, they will shoot up a mine that can do a lot of damage to you if it hits you. In Chapter 14, after you get the security pass, you'll want to use it to open the big door. Inside, you will see the Cysts along the path. Getting past them is the hard part. What you have to do is Stasis the first one and run past it, then catch its mine and throw it at the ceiling so it doesn't kill it. Then, do the same with the rest of them. When you get past the fifth one, open the door and take the elevator down. Use the panel to get the pumps working, then take the elevator back up. Watch out for that fifth Cyst sitting on the wall next to you. Finally, go in the little decontamination control room and activate the poison. It will kill all five Cysts, earning you the trophy. This one may take a few tries. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Get On My Level [0416] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Complete the game on any difficulty setting You'll get this after defeating the final boss and beating the game. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Explorer [0417] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Complete all optional missions There are ten optional missions total. Seven of them are Solo, while three are Co-op only. They aren't very hard, and contain collectibles such as artifacts, weapon parts, text and audio logs, and circuits. Here are the chapters they are in: Chapter 4 #1: C.M.S. Greely #2: C.M.S. Brusilov (Co-op) Chapter 5 #3: Conning Tower Chapter 9 #4: Supply Depot Chapter 11 #5: Delta Armory #6: Archaeology (Co-op) Chapter 14 #7: Reaper Barracks #8: Disposal Services #9: Marker Containment (Co-op) Chapter 17 #10: Artifact Storage ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Aren't You Thankful? [0418] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Gold Description: Complete the game on Hardcore Mode In Hardcore Mode, the difficulty setting is Hard, but there is one drawback. You only have one life to complete the game. Don't worry, you can stop playing and pick up where you left off, but death will put you right back at the start. Below are several tips to help you beat it. #1: Play through Classic and Pure Survival and get all other trophies out of the way first. That way, you can learn what sections you often die in and places where you have trouble. #2: If you have a USB drive or some other kind of storage, you can beat it easily. First off, plug it into your PS3. Next, start your Hardcore run. Then every two or three save points or when there is a section coming up that you normally die at, quit to the XMB menu. Then, go to Game Data Utility, and back up your Hardcore file to the USB drive or whatever you're using. Remember to do this every couple of save points. Then if you die, quit to the XMB, delete the save on the system, and copy the save on the USB back to the system. By doing this, you can die as much as you want and just pick up where you left off, instead of at the start of the game. #3: You will want to be constantly deploying resource bots throughout your Hardcore run because sometimes, you won't be able to just wait for necromorphs to drop ammo and everything you need. #4: Focus on upgrading your RIG before anything else. #5: Pre-Order and Limited Edition content carry over, so you can use some of it during your playthrough if necessary. Point is, craft weapons that you think will be very useful during your playthrough. A good example might be a Military Engine with a Repeater combined with a Survey Charge to make an Pulse Rifle with a Grenade Launcher, in basic terms. Do a lot of weapon crafting during your first playthrough and find something that you will find really helpful. #6: Be sure to keep about four or five medium med packs on you at all times. #7: Not much of a tip, but it might take some stress off: In my opinion, Hardcore isn't the hardest of the three extra modes. I would rank it Pure Survival < Hardcore < Classic. #8: Play Hardcore solo. I shouldn't have to tell you why. #9: Don't bother with any of the optional missions, as they can get you killed, and the rewards for completing them can simply be crafted at a bench. #10: Pick up any circuits or weapon parts that you find, as they can help you improve or make a better weapon. #11: Keep Stasis in mind, as it can help a lot in certain sections with a lot of enemies. #12: As you know, there is a room in Chapter 18 where you will have to fight about five or six Alien Necromorphs. What I actually did here was I just ran past the two that spawn first and went right to the door I needed to go through. When I solved the puzzles past the door and came back to that room, only one Alien Necromorph came out of the wall, AND it kind of distracted the Unitologist Soldiers that try to normally ambush you, giving you another chance to quickly run through here. #13: Upgrading your RIG will fully restore your health, no matter what you upgrade. Completing Hardcore will get you the trophy and unlock Retro Mode. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Epic Tier 4 Engineer [0419] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Complete the game in Classic Mode If you asked me, I would tell you that Classic is the hardest of the three extra modes. In it, the difficulty is Hard, classic aiming is enabled, and you can only craft weapons from DS1 & 2. You might think, "Why do you think the old weapons aren't good? I think they'd be great!" Well, try comparing the old weapons to the kinds of weapons that you can craft freely at a Bench. Not a fair comparison, right? Here are a few tips to help you through Classic Mode: #1: Craft a Plasma Cutter to keep as one of your two weapons. The other is up to you. Just pick something that you're good with. #2: Pick up any circuits that you find, as you'll really need to upgrade your weapons. #3: Pre-Order and Limited Edition content will carry over, so you can just get by using the Evangelizer ninety percent of the time like I did. #4: As always, focus on upgrading your RIG first. #5: Classic aiming is a pretty small difference. Basically, your reticule will get smaller the farther away it is. #6: Keep several med packs on you at once. #7: Constantly deploy Scavenger Bots because you'll need resources to upgrade your RIG, and craft items. #8: Stasis will come in useful in areas with a large amount of enemies. #9: Don't do optional missions. You'll only get Circuits from them, which you can just craft at a Bench. #10: Upgrading your RIG will fully restore your health, no matter what you upgrade. Completing Classic will get you the trophy and give you the Devil's Horns, a one-shot kill foam finger. You can use it to help with a few other trophies as well. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Survivalist [0420] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Complete the game in Pure Survival Mode You may be surprised to hear me say that Pure Survival is actually really easy. The "All Resources Must Be Scavenged and Items Must Be Crafted from a Bench" sounds threatening, but it can be easily bypassed. Below are a few tips to help you beat Pure Survival. #1: This is why it is so easy. If you ever run low on resources, you can just spend an hour or two throwing down and retrieving your bots until you have enough to just load up on ammo and health packs. Then, you just keep playing and repeating this if you are ever low! #2: If you are going to just repeatedly throw down your bots, you might want to check out the Bot Accelerator pack. With it, your Bots will return in only five minutes instead of ten. #3: Pre-Order and Limited Edition content will carry over. #4: Focus on upgrading your RIG first. #5: Upgrading your RIG will fully restore your health, no matter what you upgrade. #6: The standard tips. Keep health packs on you, use stasis, etc. Pure Survival will probably take more time, but it definitely won't be as difficult as Classic and Hardcore. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gun Collector [0421] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Collect all Weapon Parts Weapon Parts are used on your weapons. They are somewhat easy to spot, as they are little boxes with glowing red lights on the top corners. Find all 73 and the trophy is yours. See the Collectibles section. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Aliens [0422] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Collect all Alien Artifacts There are only ten Alien Artifacts, and you will get this while going for The Professor. See the Collectibles section. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Professor [0423] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Collect all Artifacts Artifacts are found throughout the game and are often hidden pretty well. Find all 40 of them and the trophy is yours. See the Collectibles section. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Librarian [0424] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Collect all Logs There are two types of Logs: Audio and Text. Find all 71 Logs and the trophy is yours. See the Collectibles section. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Armorer [0425] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Collect all Circuits Circuits replace Power Nodes, so they are very small. They are either found in the blue boxes on the walls, or they are hidden on tables, other objects, and the ground. Find all 61 and the trophy is yours. See the Collectibles section. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There's Always Peng! [0426] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Find Peng The Peng Treasure can be found in Chapter 14 in the Reaper Barracks optional mission. After climbing down the ladder, go through the tunnel with the Masher (the spiked thing). When you get through, turn around. You'll see Peng behind the pistons of the masher. Grab it with Kinesis. Don't get too frustrated, it is a pain to grab. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My Buddy [0427] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Retrieve Resources from a Scavenger Bot at a Bench You'll get your first Scavenger Bot in Chapter 5. When you pick it up, follow the ping until it becomes more frequent and the ring pulses a blueish-green color. Put it on the ground there. In about ten minutes, the bot will return to a Bench, and you can retrieve it any time. Bots can be picked up from any Bench when they return to one. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Metal Detector [0428] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Successfully deploy Scavenger Bots to 15 resource areas For it to be counted as a successful resource area, you HAVE to put the bot down in the exact spot where the ping is strongest and the ring pulses that blueish-green color. There are many resource areas throughout the game. You can tell you're in one if you can here a distinctive sound. It is really hard for me to describe, but it will stick out. When you hear that sound, follow the ping until the ring is pulsing. Put down 15 bots in these areas and the trophy is yours. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strapped [0429] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Craft a weapon You can get this as early as Chapter 3. When you get to the Bench, just put a few parts together and you'll get the trophy. There isn't much description needed for this one, as you will craft a weapon eventually. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Circuit's Edge [0430] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Add a Circuit to a Weapon You'll find Circuits all over the place throughout the game. They are basically upgrades for your weapons. When you find one, simply add it to one of your weapons to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ EMT [0431] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Craft a Large Med Pack A very easy one. When you have 240 Somatic Gel, go to a bench and select Craft Items. Craft a Large Med Pack for the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Full House [0432] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Craft a Weapon with 2 Tools, Tips, and Attachments with all Circuit slots filled Start by picking a Frame for two-handed weapons. Then, add an Upper and Lower Tool, an Upper and Lower Tip, and 2 Attachments. Finally, unlock all eight Circuit slots and put a Circuit in each one of them to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ RIG Master [0433] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Fully upgrade your RIG You can upgrade your RIG at a Suit Kiosk. You will have to fully Upgrade everything for the RIG, Stasis, and Kinesis to get the trophy. You'll need a lot of resources for all of the upgrades, so be sure to use your Scavenger Bots frequently. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Master Plan [0434] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Create a Blueprint that needs at least 2000 resources worth of parts and Circuits to build You can get this along with Full House. As long as you put two tools, tips, and attachments and fill up all eight Circuit slots, you should be well over 2000. When you're done crafting, press Triangle while on the editing screen to create the blueprint and get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From the Jaws [0435] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Save your Co-op partner from an execution by killing the attacker An execution is when you have to press X quickly to get the necromorph off of you before it finishes you. So basically, you have to kill the necromorph while your partner is in that position. You shouldn't have a problem with it, as you will be able to tell when your partner has a necromorph trying to execute him: he won't be running around, and the necro will be all over him. Anyway, shoot the necromorph while your partner has this happening to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Share and Share Alike [0436] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Use the RIG to give an item to your Co-op partner Simply open your inventory and select an item. Scroll down to Give and press X. It will tell you that your partner got the item, giving you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Medic! [0437] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Revive your Co-op partner 10 times When your partner loses all of his health, he will go down and be hunched over with an X over his head. Walk up to him and quickly tap X to revive him. You can get the trophy quickly by keeping one necromorph alive and letting it down your partner so you can revive him. Do this ten times and you'll get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ghosts of the Past [0438] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Face all of Carver's demons by completing all Co-op only optional missions There are only three Co-op only missions, and they aren't even hard. The chapters they are in are listed below. Chapter 4 #1: C.M.S. Brusilov Chapter 11 #2: Archaeology Chapter 14 #3: Marker Containment ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Architect [0439] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Share a Blueprint with your Co-op partner To get this, you will have to share a Blueprint that your partner doesn't have. Just craft a random weapon and create a Blueprint for it, then share it with your partner to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Axes High [0440] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 30 enemies using Fodder axes This trophy can be kind of annoying, as it will take about three axes to kill a single Waster. Luckily, there is a method that you can use to get the trophy in only 15 minutes. **Credit for this method goes to flyingturk** Play Chapter 6, as there is a part where you need to refuel the shuttle. Play up to that part, and when you have to attach the nozzle manually, do so. About three or four Wasters will come after you one by one. When you see the first one, shoot off its arm, pick up its ax, and throw it at its other arm with Kinesis to kill it quickly. Repeat this with the other Wasters as well. When they are all dead, save and quit. You will reload right before you attached the fuel nozzle, and your ax kills will still have counted. Then, just attach it again and repeat the process until you get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Payback [0441] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill a Soldier by TK'ing a grenade or rocket back at them You will have to fight Unitologists many times throughout the game, but the first time you can actually get the trophy is in Chapter 10. Grenades have a red glow to them. When a soldier throws one, pick it up with Kinesis and throw it back at him. You can also get the trophy if you have an RPG soldier. When he's about to fire, put him in Stasis. Then when he does fire, just grab the rocket and send it back at him with Kinesis. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Close Encounter [0442] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Kill 10 alien Necromorphs Alien Necromorphs replaced Brutes from the first two games. They are large grayish Necromorphs that will take a lot of damage. A quick way to kill them is by shooting at their head until you take it off. Then, just shoot its legs and you'll kill it. There are plenty of them for you to kill, so this will come naturally. By the way, you won't see any of them until Chapter 16. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Go for the Limbs! [0443] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Dismember 500 limbs from living enemies This one will definitely come naturally. Every arm and leg you take off a living necromorph or soldier counts toward it, just to give you an idea. 500 will get you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And Then We Doubled It! [0444] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Dismember 1000 limbs from living enemies You'll get this long before collecting every other trophy. Take off 1000 arms or legs from living enemies and the trophy is yours. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Slow Mo [0445] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 50 enemies while they are in Stasis To Stasis an enemy, you have to aim at them and press Triangle. You will then have to kill them while they are slowed down. 50 kills will get you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Blast Corps [0446] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 30 enemies with explosion damage Environmental explosives don't seem to count, so you'll have to just make an explosive weapon. To make an explosive weapon, just use a Heavy Frame and put a Survey Charge on it. This will be a grenade launcher. Just kill 30 enemies with it to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shootbang [0447] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 30 Soldiers with head shots To get head shots, you'll want to use a weapon such as the Plasma Cutter or the Pulse Rifle. Just aim for their heads and shoot. You'll know if you got a head shot because their head will be gone. 30 head shots and the trophy is yours. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Empty Chamber [0448] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 30 enemies using melee strikes or a melee Weapon part You can melee enemies by pressing R1. It will take a few hits, even on Casual. You can also add a Hydraulic Engine to your weapon that is basically an electric sword, that will kill them in only a hit or two. Either way, 30 melee kills will get you the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dropping Acid [0449] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Dissolve 50 enemies with acid To get this, you will need an attachment called an Acid Bath. Put it on whatever weapon you want, and just kill 50 enemies with that Weapon. When you shoot them, they will have a greenish glow to them and they will start to dissolve. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Electric Lawnmower [0450] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Kill 30 enemies using an electrified Ripper blade. Starting off, pick a Heavy Standard Frame. Now, your upper tool will need to be a Rip Core, which is the blade. Next, you need to put an Electric Charge as attachment 2 on it to make the blade electrified. Now all you have to do is get 30 kills with it and the trophy is yours. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Overpowered Healing [0451] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Use quick heal to heal yourself 20 times If you have Med Packs on you, you can press Circle to heal yourself if you have taken any damage. Heal yourself this way 20 times to get the trophy. ====================================================================== Collectibles [0500] ====================================================================== I didn't include an actual written guide for the collectibles because there are quite a few of them, and they are often just too hard to describe. Instead, I have linked videos for each chapter to help you get all of them. Luckily, you can check your collectible progress from the Progress and Unlockables menu. Credit goes to PowerPyx for the videos. You can either kill him to earn this trophy, or let him live to earn the True Believer trophy. I personally recommend that you let him live during your first playthrough, then kill him for the resources during your Pure Survival run. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ True Believer [0630] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze (Hidden) Description: Allow the Unitologist Cult Leader to survive See the Heretic trophy above. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Get to the Chopper! [0640] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver (Hidden) Description: Escape from Tau Volantis to the Terra Nova Story related. This is earned at the end of Chapter 1 of Awakened. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pure Lunacy [0650] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Complete Dead Space 3 Awakened in Pure Survival Mode Awakened is only three chapters long, so this won't be a pain. Pure Survival is actually the easiest out of the three extra modes as well. See the Survivalist trophy for tips on Pure Survival. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Just the Tip [0660] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Silver Description: Craft a Weapon using an MK-II Tip The first MK-II Tip is right after the first Bench. Go through the door and turn right to find an MK-II Directed Suspension Field. Go back to the Bench and craft any weapon with it on it to get the trophy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Heaven Can Wait [0670] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Stasis your Co-Op Partner when he is downed to slow his bleed-out timer Another very easy one. When your partner goes down, hit him with Stasis to slow down his bleed-out timer and get the trophy. If you don't have anyone to boost with, try to find a game on Impossible difficulty so it won't to as long for them to go down. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Supercharger [0680] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Grade: Bronze Description: Finish charging the reactor in under 90 seconds This is done in Chapter 3. When you get to the room with the reactor, you'll have to use Kinesis on the cranks of the containers. When you do, a green orb will come out. Grab it with Kinesis, Stasis the reactor, and shoot it through any of the holes. When you do, three
yellow cylinders will pop up. Shoot and destroy these, then continue
on the story's path and you'll get the trophy. Odds are, you'll get
this one on your first try anyway, so you shouldn't have to worry
about it. Also, be sure to do this on Casual. From what I've heard,
higher difficulties have more steps.
