Also, I fixed a typo I missed in my Minor Update. ****************************************************************************** * Act 2: Intro * ****************************************************************************** Hey Guys, welcome to my next guide in my series of works. As you can tell from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help all players playing this game unlock all the achievements/trophies. While I'm aware that their's a Trophy Guide on the site already, it didn't really go into detail with the Trophies these 3 games have. Not saying the guide is bad or nothing (heck, I even used it), I just feel that the Trophy guide didn't do what a achievement/trophy guide is suppose to do: Explaining how certain achievements/trophies are unlocked. For this reason, I decided to write my own guide on this collection. This is my 1st guide in a series of works that is a covers mulitple games in a collection. I know you guys probably don't like long Intros, so I'll get on with the guide already. Warring: This guide can and will contain spoilers. I will do my best to not spoil stuff from the game, but sometimes it just can not be helped, so read at your own risk. ****************************************************************************** | Act 3: Achievement/Trophy Overview | ****************************************************************************** Achievement/trophy difficulty Devil May Cry 1: 3/5* Devil May Cry 2: 3/5* (Only because of how hard the Bloody Palace is and how glitchy it can get, see details for more info) Devil May Cry 3: 5/5 Average: 4/5* (rounded to the nearest tenth) *The Marked numbers were based on 1st impressions when I looked at the achievement/trophy list for the games. Actual difficulty yet to be determined. Number of Achievements: 33 per game, 99 total Number of Trophies: 34 per game, 102 total Least amount of playthroughs to get all Achievements/Trophies Devil May Cry 1: 3 (1 for each difficulty) (4+ Recommend for The Devil Made Me Do It and/or for beginners) Devil May Cry 2: 6 (5 Main Game, 1 Bloody Palace) (3 Main Game if you use cheats and they work like their suppose to, see details) Devil May Cry 3: 6 (4 Main Game, 1 Yellow Orb Mode, 1 Bloody Palace) (7 Recommend for beginners) Total: 15 (17+ Recommend) Number of Missable Achievements/Trophies Devil May Cry 1: 11 Devil May Cry 2: 0 (Mission Select) Devil May Cry 3: 0 (Mission Select) Total: 11 I don't believe the ones in DMC 1 can trully be missed though. Details: This part's really long, so expect a lot of reading here. Anyway, this game (as mentioned before), is a collection of the 1st 3 Devil May Cry games, all of which were originally released for the PS2. It doesn't matter which of the 3 games you go after 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but if you want to 100% the entire collection, you'll have to beat all 3 games eventually. You could go in order of release date, difficulty (easiest 1st), or even in chronological order. I opted for to go in order of difficulty, but hardest 1st, so the order will be Devil May Crys 3, 1 and 2 for me (which also happens to be the chronological order according to Wikipedia. Well, the Devil May Cry anime and Devil May Cry 4 both come in between 1 and 2, but still). However, this guide will go in order of the release dates. I will be using some abbreviations through out the guide, to keep it as short as possible (something I've seen done on guides made by other users (Walkthroughs mainly) on sites such as this). Here's a small chart below. /-------------------------------\ | If I put... | I mean... | |-------------+-----------------| | DT | Devil Tigger | |-------------+-----------------| | DMC | Devil May Cry | |-------------+-----------------| | DMD | Dante Must Die* | \-------------------------------/ *This also applies with Lucia and Vergil (from DMC's 2 and 3 respectivly) as well, though with the former, I don't think I used the abbreviation "LMD" much in this guide (if at all). All that being said, let's go into Devil May Cry 1. Devil May Cry 1 You're 1st playthrough for this game is going to be on Normal. However, you may or may not be offered to play through the game on Easy Auto mode. Don't ever do this; you'll not only lock yourself out of the other difficulty achievements/trophies, but you'll be on Easy Auto until you start a brand new game. Other than that, just go through the game on Normal, upgrading Dante as you go. That way, you're better prepaired for the Hard and DMD modes. During you're Normal runthrough, you'll end up unlocking all of the Story-related achievements/trophies (other than the difficulty related ones of course). You could try for "The Devil Made Me Do It" on this run, but if you find that you can't, save it for later. You may end up unlocking "I Read You Like A Book" during this run, but if not the achievement/trophy mentioned save it for your next playthrough. When you've beaten the game on Normal, you'll unlock Hard. After that, you'll be playing the game on Hard, so you'll unlock DMD. You'll go for "I Read You Like A Book" on this run if you've haven't finished it on you're Normal Run and/or you were going for "The Devil Made Me Do It" on your said run. When you've beaten Hard, you'll unlock DMD. You're going to be prepairing for your DMD run at this point of the game. You are going to run around in your Normal/Hard runs collecting and buying all of the items you can get you're hands on. Their are plenty of Orb grinding videos on Youtube for this game, as well as DMCs 2 and 3, so I suggest looking their if you need help getting the Orbs for purchasing items and upgrades. When you eventually feel like you're ready to take on DMC 1's DMD, you'll do just that. DMD can be a real pain, but with enough perseverance you'll beat it eventually. When you've beaten DMD, you're pretty much done with the game. You'll just have to mop up any and all missing achievements/trophies you've yet to unlock. If you haven't unlocked "The Devil Made Me Do It" at this point, use the Super Dante Costume on a difficulty of your choice and play away. With the unlimited DT this costume gives, this achievement/trophy should be a piece of cake (at least when compaired to beating DMD), especially if you play on Easy Auto or Normal. It should be noted that this is the only game in the entire collection where Dante's story is the only story the game has. Devil May Cry 2 Before I go into the details for this game itself, I want to talk about cheats. I've read that this is the only game in the collection where it has cheat codes you can use and still 100% the game. Well... The same could be said for DMC 3 and possibly DMC 1, but the former disables the achievements/trophies for as long as the game's turned on for using cheats and the latter I'm not sure if they're even any cheat codes to begin with. Anyway, this game has 4 different cheats one could use if (s)he wanted to. Here's a list of the cheats below (may need to beat the 1st mission with each character (Dante and Lucia) in order for them to work): A. All Missions Unlocked PS3 Version: L3, R3, L1, R1, L2, R2 Xbox 360 Version: L Ctrl Stick, R Ctrl Stick, LB, RB, LT, RT* B. Trish Unlocked (hold buttons for 5-10 seconds) PS3 Version: L1+R2+L3+R3 Xbox 360 Version: LB+RT+L Ctrl Stick+R Ctrl Stick* C. Must Die Costumes Unlocked PS3 Version: /\, /\, [], d-pad left, d-pad up, d-pad right, d-pad down, L3, R3, X, () Xbox 360 Version: Y, Y, X, d-pad left, d-pad up, d-pad right, d-pad down, L Ctrl Stick, R Ctrl Stick, A, B D. Unlimited DT (must have beaten Must Die 1st, hold buttons until DT gauge fills up in the gameplay) PS3 Version: L1+R1+L2+R2 Xbox 360 Version: LB+RB+LT+RT *I think that's how the cheat goes, not 100% certain. When you use the cheats, it MAY unlock the Hard, Must Die and the Bloody Palace modes for both characters, effectivly take you're playthroughs of your main game down from 5 to 3. However, the guide is going to assume that you're not using cheats for 2 reasons. 1. The Unlimited DT cheat doesn't work on the NTSC Version of the game and (therefore) does not apply to the said version. 2. They have a habbit of not working like they should. Not sure if they only apply to a certain region like the DT cheat or some other unknown factor no one's been able to figure out yet (well, at the time posting this guide anyway). The Unlimited DT cheat seems to work like it should though. However, I will mention certain cheats when they apply to the achievement/trophy in question. All that being said, let's go into the details for DMC 2. So basicly you need to decide which character you're going to play as for your 2 Normal runs 1st. It doesn't matter who, but you have to play as both to ulimately unlock Hard. Reguardless, you're focus here is to fully upgrade both characters during your Normal runthroughs as Dante and Lucia. Note that you don't need both characters to fully upgraded their. I only said that because as I stated before, the guide's going to assume that you're doing 5 playthroughs of the main game. When your 2 Normal runthroughs are done, you now have to decide if you want to use Dante, Lucia or Trish for Must Die and the Bloody Palace modes. Whichever, character you plan on using, unlock all the achievements/trophies related the other 1st if you haven't already done so (unless the chosen character was Trish, in which case you have to this with both Dante and Lucia). Here's the rundown of each of the characters: Dante: He's the strongest character of the 3 you could pick from, but he can cause certain foes the Bloody Palace to glitch if one is not careful using him (refer to "Over 9000!" for details). Lucia: She's a fast character (from what I heard) and her story is shorter than Dante's, but her weapons are really slow. Trish: She's the best character for the Bloody Palace in general from what I read (especially if you use the DT cheat) and she comes along with fully upgraded weapons (and possibly health and DT), but she runs pretty slowly. What you'll do after beating the game on Normal with Dante and Lucia depends on the character you ultimatly decided on. If Dante's your chosen character: You'll then playthrough the game on Lucia's Hard next. When that's done you'll then playtrough the game on Dante's Hard. When you've done that, you'll unlock Must Die and Trish. You'll then play the game on either Normal mode Dante or Normal mode Lucia's story as Trish. When that's done, you'll be stocking up on items for and playing the game on Must Die as Dante. After that, you'll be stocking up on items for the Bloody Palace and taking on the said mode as Dante. If you chose Lucia or Trish as your character: You'll be playing the game on Dante's Hard next to unlock Trish. What you'll do after that's done depends on if you chose Lucia or Trish as your character. If Lucia's your chosen character: You'll then be playing the game as Trish on either Dante's Normal or Lucia's Normal.* When that's done, you'll be playing the game on Hard as Lucia to unlock Must Die. You'll then be stocking up on items for and playing on the said difficulty as Lucia. After that, you'll be stocking up on items for the Bloody Palace and taking on the said mode as Lucia. If Trish's your chosen character: You'll be playing the game on Hard as Lucia next. When that's done, you'll be stocking up on items for and playing the game on Must Die as Trish. The Story you decide to use for this (be it Dante or Lucia) doesn't matter. If you decide on Lucia's Story, there's something I should point how however. There's a boss at the end of Mission 7 that can take awhile if you try to beat it as Trish. For this reason, I suggest swapping out Trish for Lucia for the mission. If doing so voids the achievement/trophy for beating the game as Trish however, then you'll just have to do the best you can.** Reguardless, after you've beaten Must Die as Trish, you'll be stocking up on items for the Bloody Palace and taking on the said mode as the said character. *You may also wish to playthrough the game on Lucia's Hard as Trish if you want to save yourself a playthrough. I don't recommend this however as you'll want to be prepaired for Lucia's Must Die as Lucia herself by playing as Lucia on Hard. Besides, I'm not sure if swapping out Trish for Lucia on Lucia's Mission 7 will void the Trish achievement/trophy or not. **Either that, or you'll have to switch on over to Dante's Story. What was said above for each of the characters are only one way of doing them. If you have a different route in mind, that's fine. That being said, when you've past 9,000 floors as your chosen character, you'll be mopping up any and all achievements/trophies you missed and you're done with this game. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Before we go into detail with Devil May Cry 3 itself, there's something I want to talk about here. Their are 2 versions of this game: The Original and the Special Edition. For those who don't know what the differences are, here's a rundown on what the Special Edition brings to the table below. Vergil Mode: The Special Edition gives you the ability to play as Dante's (Evil) Twin Brother Vergil. He comes equiped with his Katana "Yamato", the so-called "Damage Dealer" of his weapons "Beowulf" (which I think he ends up losing at some point of the game, not sure because I've yet to play as him, but I know it happens in Dante's Story) and the Yamato and Beowulf combo "Force Edge". He also comes equiped with his Summon Swords. In the days of the PS2, one of the ways you unlock him is by having the Original DMC 3 file in the PS2 memory card. Now though, the only way to unlock is by beating the game as Dante. Bloody Palace: The Bloody Palace from DMC 2 is back and better then it was before (not to mention way less buggy). You can't use any items in this Palace, but you are allowed to use the Super Costumes in their. Best of all, this Palace has an ending to it (the one from DMC 2 ever ends). Like Vergil Mode, Bloody Palace can be unlocked by having the Orginal DMC 3 file in the PS2 memory card on the PS2. Since this is the Xbox 360 and PS3 version we're talking about here, the only way to unlock it is to beat the game as Dante. Gold Orbs: If you've played DMC 2 before (either on the PS2 or pior to starting this game), you'll remember the Gold Orbs being in that game. Well, in the Special Edition, they're back. These things revive you on the spot you've died at should you choose to use one. If not, they work like the Yellow Orbs of the Original, but they go unused. Turbo Mode: When turned on, it makes everything gameplay run about 20% faster, so battles end at a faster rate. However, it'll make combos harder to pull of from what I've read (as if they weren't hard enough already). Difficulty Settings: The Special Edition dumbs down the difficulty Easy and Normal (and possibly Hard, but not sure there) and adds Very Hard to the list. DMD and HoH (Heaven or Hell) are untouched. That's all for this one really. Demo Digest: Let's you watch cutscenes from the game. Other than it not being in the Original version, nothing out of the ordinary there. Jester: The Special Edition gives you the ability fight this clown as a boss. You will have to fight him at the start of Mission 5, but he becomes an optional boss after that. The reason why I just told you all this is because the achievement/trophy list for this game is based on the Special Edtion of Devil May Cry 3. All that being said, let's go into the details with DMC 3. When you get to the title screen for DMC 3, you'll notice that Dante (Right) and Vergil (Left) are on screen. You have to decide which character you want to play as from the get go. Here's a rundown on the 2 Sons of Sparda (the demon who fought on behalf of the humans in the series and the DmC Reboot and their father). Dante: He can abuse Quicksilver (if used effectively) and can Double Jump. He also has the most Achievements/Trophies tied to him. Vergil: He has my perfer playstyle for playing Video Games in general: Being very aggressive. On a Serious note, he can be very quick with his attacks from what I've observed and has DT from the start (again, from what I've observed). Which ever character you chose will be the one who gets the Gold Orbs. The other will be using the Yellow Orbs. Even if Vergil's your character of choice, I suggest you go with the Gold Orbs with Dante for your 1st runthrough of the game (especially if you're a beginner). If you're confidante in your abilities however, then give Dante the Yellow Orbs then. Personally, I chose Dante as my character. Reguardless of character choice, you're 1st playthrough will be with Dante (be it on Gold or Yellow Orbs). If your chosen character is Dante: You'll want to be on Gold Orbs mode for sure. You're going to playthrough the game, upgrading Dante as much as you can; You'll want to be better prepaired for the Harder Difficulty settings. If you die enough times, the game will tell you that you've unlocked Easy Mode. Unless you feel confidante of your abilities even after dying so many times, I suggest switching to Easy for you're "Build Up Dante as much as you can" playthrough. Oh, don't worry about being stuck on Easy, this isn't DMC 1 were talking about here. I also suggest using Easy for your S Rank run. When you've beaten the game, you'll get you're 1st chance killing as many foes as you can during the credits. You need to kill at least 100 of them to see the extended ending and unlock an achievement/trophy related to this. After that, the game will tell you that you've unlocked Vergil, but since your character's Dante, don't worry about him yet. You'll also end up unlocking the Bloody Palace at this point, don't go their yet. If you've managed to beat the game on Normal, the game will also tell you that you've unlocked Hard as well. You'll want go for your S Ranks at this point, so they're out of the way. Of course, if you think you can get the S Ranks on Harder Difficulty settings, by all means go ahead and start you're Normal run if you haven't finished it yet (or Start on Hard if you have you've already beaten Normal, assumes that you've beaten the game on Easy). Once you (eventrually) got all of the S Ranks, you'll then finish what's left of Normal mode (to unlock Hard) and playthrough the game Hard; you'll end up unlocking Very Hard upon completion of Hard mode. I would highly suggest you stock up on items at this point if you haven't done so during your preperation for Hard already and have plenty of Red Orbs so you can buy more should the need to do so arises.* You'll then tackle the game on the said difficulty. Once that's done, you'll end up unlocking DMD and the Super Dante Costume (which grants unlimited DT). Restock on items (other than the Devil Stars since you won't need those), put on the Super Dante Costume and play the game on DMD after that. Once that's done, you've unlocked the Super Sparda costume and Heaven or Hell mode. At this point, you'll be skilled enough for the Bloody Palace, so put on the Super Sparda Costume and go after it. You don't get to bring whatever items you had left over between Very Hard and DMD, but with the Unlimited DT this costume has and the rapidly regenerating health this costume offers, you won't need any. *The same goes for Very Hard and DMD with the latter. Once you've beaten the Bloody Palace, you will now tackle Heaven or Hell. What costume you use won't matter much, though I've read that some parts of certain missions can be tricky to get past without the use of the Super Costumes due to a certain weapon's ability to let one fly in DT mode when a certain upgrade's been purchased. You can use your Heaven or Hell run to max out all 4 of Dante's game given Styles if you haven't already done so. Otherwise and once you've beaten Heaven or Hell, you'll then mop up any and all achievements/trophies you missed at Dante and you're done with him. All that's left is beating the game as Vergil on Yellow Orbs mode and you're set. For the Bloody Palace/Heaven or Hell crossroad, you could reverse the order if you're not feeling up to the Bloody Palace yet or if you just want to get Heaven or Hell out of the way 1st. If your chosen character is Vergil: You'll have to decide if you want Dante on Yellow or Gold Orbs mode. I suggest Gold for the sake of getting all of the achievements/trophies tied to him, but if you think you can do this on Yellow Orbs mode, don't let me be the one to stop you. Once you've beaten the game for the 1st time, you'll unlock Vergil. Even though, he's your character, you're not done with Dante yet. If you were playing the game on Yellow Orbs mode and you just couldn't stand it, you'll have to playthrough the game again, but this time on Gold Orbs mode. Otherwise, go on and read the next paragraph below. You'll still need to (at the very least) max out all of Dante's styles. I suggest using mission 18 for that. If you still need to max out Dante's health, then go back and do the Secret Missions you haven't done with him during you're run. If you've done all of the Secret Missions already, then you still need to buy the Blue Orbs from the Store (the Divinity Statues in-game or the Customize option at the begining of the Mission). Same goes with the Purple Orbs (which up your DT gauge) and fully upgrading your Devil Arms if you still need to do either one of these. If the lack of Red Orbs hindering you're abililty to purchase anything, replay Mission 20 over and over again; you'll get a fixed 9,500 orbs for beating the boss and up to 14,500 with an overall S Rank that way. Once you've unlocked all of the achievements/trophies that are tied to him, you'll have to beat the game in Yellow Orbs modes if you've have done so already and now you'll be done with Dante. With Vergil, this is pretty much the same as Dante, so I'll break it down for you: 1. Depending on how confidante you are in your abilities, you'll be playing the game on either Easy or Normal for you're "beef up Vergil" run (the former difficulty recommend, but do-able on Normal if skilled enough). 2. Going for S Ranks on Easy/Normal (or both, the S Rank achievement/trophy is not picky on which difficulty you use). Could go for this as you go through the game on harder difficulties instead if you believe your skilled enough. 3. You're going to play the game again, but this time on Normal (skip this, if you've already beaten Normal). Upon completion, you'll unlock Hard mode. 4. You'll then play through the game on Hard to unlock Very Hard mode. Stock up on items if you deem it necessary. 5. You'll then stock up on items for Very Hard mode and have plenty of Red Orbs on hand (should you need to purchase more items down the road) if you haven't already done so. When you feel ready for it, you'll then tackle Very Hard mode, which will unlock the Super Vergil costume (which gives unlimited DT) and VMD mode upon completing the said mode. 6. Now you'll restock up on items, put on the Super Costume and run through the game on VMD. When that's done, you'll unlock the Super Nelo Angelo costume (a.k.a. Super Corrupt Vergil). The next 2 can be done in either order. 7. You'll then put on the Super Nelo Angelo costume and blaze through the Bloody Palace. 8. Now you'll tackle Heaven or Hell mode. Since he doesn't have the use of guns* and non of his weapons allow him to fly in DT mode (that I know of), certain missions can prove to be quite tricky. 9. You'll then mop up any and all missing achievements/trophies you got left. 10. You'll now enjoy you 100% completion of the game (and the entire collection if you've 100% the 1st two games pior to this). *Well, he does have is summon swords, but they don't seem to effective from what I observed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Act 4: Devil May Cry 1's Achievements/Trophies and How to unlock them - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Total Gamerscore for this game (360): 320G Total Trophies for this game (PS3) Bronze: 20* Silver: 6* Gold: 7* Platinum: 1 *Not sure if the numbers are right as I had to do a manual count. Note: This is something new I decided to do for this guide (as I was just about to wrap up the guide to). You'll see this in DMC 2 and DMC 3 as well. 1. Warming Up! Description: Finish the game on Normal Mode. Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-Related, but it can be missed. All you need to do for this one is to beat the game on Normal. However, this can be easier said then done for beginners like myself. If the game offers to take you Easy Automatic Mode, don't; You'll lock yourself out of the 3 difficulty achievements/trophies. Making matters worse, the game loops in this difficulty until you start a New Game (or so I read). Although I'm not 100% certain (as I've not played this game at the time of writing this), I believe that as long as you make the Easy File seperate from your Main File, you shouldn't be completely screwed out of the difficulty achievements/trophies (if at all). You could however, use this difficulty for the other achievements/trophies such as "The Devil Made Me Do It", "Untouchable" and "Smashing Sensation" (just to name a few examples), but that's up to you. If you're having trouble with the game at any point, here's a walkthrough for the game below. It was made by Mysticcat. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/445101-devil-may-cry/faqs/16755 Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 Japan version of the game, but it should still apply to the US and even the PAL versions of the game. Note 2: This guide's has 2 walkthroughs, one for Easy Auto & Normal modes and the other for Hard & DMD modes. If you just want the guide for the bosses, refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for a Boss FAQ. Reguardless, I highly recommend using this difficulty as you're "Get Dante powered up" playthrough, because it'll make Hard and Dante Must Die much easier. Extra Info: This is your starting difficulty setting each time you start a New Game. Here, the foes Dante face on this setting are more aggressive then they were on Easy, but they (for the most part) do Standard Damage and doesn't take many hits to beat. 2. Boiling!! Description: Finish the Game on Hard Mode. Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: In order to even play the game on this setting, you must 1st beat the game on Normal. After that, you just need to beat the game on this difficulty setting and that's it. Extra Info: On this difficulty setting, the foes Dante face on this setting are more aggressive then they were on Normal and do more damage than usual, but they only take a few more hits to beat. 3. Combustible!!! Description: Finish the game on Dante Must Die Mode Gamerscore: 40 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: In order to even play the game on this setting, you must 1st unlock and beat the game on Hard. After that, you just need to beat the game on this difficulty setting and that's it. Extra Info: This difficulty setting can be a real pain in the @$$. The foes Dante face on this setting take aggressive to a new level on DMD. Between doing a lot of damage and taking forever to beat, Dante will have his work cut out for him. With enough determination (and dying as many times as it takes), you'll be able to beat DMD. Beating the game on DMD will unlock the Super Dante costume which gives Dante Unlimted DT. 4. The Devil's In The Details Description: Purchase all of Dante's Skills Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: Dante has 2 weapons in this game (Alastor and Ifrit) and neither one of them have too many upgrades you need to purchase with them. Well, their is a 3rd weapon and it's the Sparda, but that weapon doesn't have any skills that I'm aware of. Anyway, you'll need a total of 26,800 orbs to get all of the skills for both weapons (so that's (give or take) 13,400 orbs to fully upgrade 1 of the weapons). You'll want to fully upgrade Dante to prepair him for the Harder Difficulties, so you shouldn't really miss this one. Here are the skills you need to purchase for each weapon below (as taken from Trophy guide for the PS3 version of the game on ps3trophies.org): Alastor: Stinger Lv. 1: 350 Orbs (Stinger Lv. 2: 1,400 Orbs) Round Trip: 1,550 Orbs Air Hike: 4,000 Orbs Air Raid: 750 Orbs Vortex Lv. 1: 1,150 Orbs (Vortex Lv. 2: 2,400 Orbs) Ifrit: Rolling Blaze: 3,450 Orbs Magma Drive: 500 Orbs Kick-13 Lv. 1: 700 Orbs (Kick-13 Lv. 2: 2,100 Orbs) Meteor Lv. 1: 900 Orbs (Meteor Lv. 2: 2,700 Orbs) Inferno: 4,850 Orbs 5. Can You Keep A Secret? Description: Complete a Secret Mission Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Secret's Out" for details. 6. The Secret Six Description: Complete six Secret Missions Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Refer to "The Secret's Out" for details. 7. The Secret's Out Description: Complete all Secret Missions Gamerscore: 15 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: Their are 12 secret missions in this game. Most (if not all) of the secret missions require you to kill something. For each secret mission you beat, you'll get a Blue Orb fragment. I highly suggest you do this on your Normal playthrough. The reason for this (besides getting Blue Orb fragments) is that I've read some of these missions are impossible on Harder Diffculties like DMD. Number 5 will unlock after beating your 1st secret mission, 6 will unlock after completing half of them and this one will unlock after beating all of them. Here's a link to a secret missions guide below. It was created by JL Lee. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/445101-devil-may-cry/faqs/13793 Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version, but it should still apply to the 360 and PS3 versions. 8. Smashing Sensation Description: Achieve an S Rank on any Mission Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Sliver Guide: For this one, you need to S Rank on 1 of the 23 missions in the game and that's it. The way it looks from the S Rank cut-offs, it looks like you're only graded on the following: 1. How Long it took you to beat a mission (Time) and... 2. How Many Orbs you've collected throughout the mission (Orbs). That being said, here are the S Rank cut-offs for time and orbs. I took these from the Xbox 360 version of the game on xbox360achievements.org Mission 1: 6:00, 400 Orbs Mission 2: 7:00, 450 Orbs Mission 3: 3:00, 550 Orbs Mission 4: 4:00, 550 Orbs Mission 5: 2:00, 100 Orbs Mission 6: 3:30, 250 Orbs Mission 7: 3:00, 650 Orbs Mission 8: 3:00, 585 Orbs Mission 9: 8:00, 1500 Orbs Mission 10: 4:30, 600 Orbs Mission 11: 5:30, 1000 Orbs Mission 12: 4:00, 700 Orbs Mission 13: 2:30, 200 Orbs Mission 14: 5:00, 500 Orbs Mission 15: 10:00, 1400 Orbs Mission 16: 6:00, 1000 Orbs Mission 17: 7:00, 600 Orbs Mission 18: 6:00, 900 Orbs Mission 19: 3:30, 900 Orbs Mission 20: 4:30, 700 Orbs Mission 21: 5:00, 700 Orbs Mission 22: 5:00, 0 Orbs Mission 23: 7:00, 600 Orbs I've read that missions 5 and 13 are the easiest ones to do since they're both short, so go ahead and do those if you find that you're having a hard time getting an S Rank in any of the missions. Author's Note: I do feel that 5 points is a bit low for the 360 version and A Silver Trophy is a bit high for the PS3 version. I feel like the 360 version should've had like 10, 15 or even 20 points while the PS3 version should've had a Bronze Trophy. I'm not the person who made and programed these achievements/trophies, so... 9. Arachnophobia Description: Survive an encounter with Phantom Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Phantom make its 1st appearence in Mission 3. 10. You're No Angel Description: Survive an encounter with Nelo Angelo Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Nelo Angelo make his 1st appearence on Mission 4. 11. Squashed Like A Bug Description: Defeat Phantom Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. You'll have a chance to kill Phantom in Mission 8. Glitch Warring: Apparently, if you skip a cut-scene that happends after killing the Phantom, you won't unlock this until your next playthrough. I only know of this happening in the PS3 version and I'm not sure if this glitch exists in the 360 version. To make sure that this glitch doesn't happen on your playthrough (and to be safe for those playing the 360 version), let the cut-scene play itself out. 12. Bird of Prey Description: Survive an encounter with Griffon Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Griffon make its 1st appearence at Mission 9. 13. Broken Halo Description: Fight Nelo Angelo a second time and prevail Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Nelo Angelo make his 2nd appearence on Mission 11. 14. Cold Turkey Description: Fight Griffon a second time and prevail Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Griffon make its 2nd appearence at Mission 12. 15. Plucked Description: Defeat Griffon Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. You'll have a chance to kill Griffon in Mission 15. 16. Night Terrors Description: Survive an encounter with Nightmare Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Nightmare make its 1st appearence at Mission 16. 17. Fallen Angel Description: Defeat Nelo Angelo Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. You'll have a chance to kill Nelo Angelo in Mission 17. 18. Good Night Description: Fight Nightmare a second time and prevail Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. Nightmare make its 2nd appearence at Mission 18. 19. The Nightmare is Over Description: Defeat Nightmare Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "The Devil Went Down To..." for details. You'll have a chance to kill Nightmare in Mission 20. 20. The Devil Went Down To... Description: Defeat Mundus Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This and all of the other "Fight/Survive/Defeat *insert boss name here*" achievements/trophies, they're all story-related, so they can't be missed (just make sure you don't skip a certain cut-scene with "Squashed Like A Bug" as that one is a bit glitchy). Mundus is the main bad guy in this game and he/it decides he/it wants to fight you in missions 22/23. You'll unlock this in Mission 22. When that's done, you've pretty much beaten the game. If you're having trouble beating any of the bosses, check out the Boss FAQ below. This guide belongs to Leizuya. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/445101-devil-may-cry/faqs/19987 Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version and you're on either Normal or Hard. If you want a walkthrough of the game, refer to "Warming Up!". 21. Thunderstruck Description: Perform an S Rank Combo using Alastor Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Hot As Hell" for details. 22. Hot As Hell Description: Perform an S Rank Combo using Ifrit Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: For this and "Thunderstruck", you need to get an S Rank combo for Alastor and Ifrit respectivly. Both of them require you to activate Devil Trigger in order to get these. One way of doing this is to do the Griffon Fight in Mission 9. Make sure your DT is full, start the fight with Giffon, equip the weapon you want to get the achievement/trophy for, go into DT mode and spam you pistols. You should get the S rank for the weapon of choice. When you do, switch on over to the weapon you didn't use the 1st time and do the same thing. Their may be other ways to go about doing this, but like I said, this is one way of doing them. 23. Table Of Contents Description: Unlock every enemy file in the status menu Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This one's technically story-related, as you'll pretty much run into every single enemy in the game. It'll unlock when you run into Mundus in Mission 22. 24. Bookworm Description: Unlock 50% of all entries for every enemy file in the status menu Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Refer to "I Read You Like A Book" for details, but this one should come naturally on you're 1st playthrough (although, it can still be missed). 25. I Read You Like A Book Description: Unlock all the entries for every enemy file in the status menu Gamerscore: 15 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: I'm not sure what Capcom was thinking when they made this achievement/trophy. No gaming company in their right minds would even think about making an achievement/trophy like this and no gamer would go out of their way to do this. I guess that's why Capcom even bothered putting this on the list. At least it has a decent amount of Gamerscore (for the what they can do with the 1000G limit in the collection) for the 360 version and it's a Gold Trophy for the PS3 version. Ranting aside, you just need to get all of the entries for all of the game's enemies and Bosses. The enties are done through foes doing certain moves, trying to do certain moves on foes and even taking damage from foes. Some of them (or maybe a few) will have Dante killed though. For the reason of moves getting Dante killed alone, I wouldn't even bother trying to get "The Devil Made Me Do It" along with this (unless you plan on restarting the missions a lot, but who in their right minds would do that unless they don't have any Yellow Orbs to begin with (see "The Devil Made Me Do It" for details), which even then...) Anyway, here's a guide to help you fill up the enemy file like this stupid @$$ achievement/trophy wants you to, just in case you're having trouble figuring out what to do for and/or getting certain entries. It was written by Tai Chi. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/445101-devil-may-cry/faqs/32417 Note: Like the other links before this one, it also assumes that you're playing the PS2 version. 26. Seeing Red Description: Collect 10,000 Red Orbs Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Redemption" for details. 27. Blood Flows Red Description: Collect 25,000 Red Orbs Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Refer to "Redemption" for details. 28. Redemption Description: Collect 50,000 Red Orbs Gamerscore: 15 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: All three of these achievements/trophies wants you to do one thing and one thing only: Collect all the Red Orbs you can find. You get these from killing foes mainly. If you use your Normal playthrough for the sake of beefing Dante up for the Harder settings like I told you to, then you'll get this no problem. Even if you don't, the amount of Red Orbs you get carries over from playthrough to playthrough and there cumulative, so it shouldn't take you more than 2 playthroughs. 29. Blue Demon Description: Complete a Blue Orb Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Since they're so many Blue Fragments laying around in various parts of the game, you'll end up completing a Blue Orb or two (or hell even 3+), so you can't really miss this. It takes 4 Blue Fragments to make 1 Blue Orb by the way. 30. Blue Devil Description: Max out the Health Bar Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: You kind of need to do this for the sake of DMD, so don't worry about not getting this too much. Some of these are going to come from the Secret Missions that you have to do for another achievement/trophy and a lot of them can be found laying around the game. Their are 5 Blue Orbs that you need to purchase from the Time Statue (this game's store), which goes up in price each time you buy one. Once you've maxed out Dante's health bar, it'll unlock itself and you'll be 20G richer and closer to getting 100% (Xbox 360) or 1 Gold trophy closer to the Platinum (PS3). Here's a guide below in case you're having trouble finding some of the Blue Orb Fragments. It's written by JL Lee. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/445101-devil-may-cry/faqs/13883 Note: Once again, it assumes that you're playing the PS2 version. 31. Gun Collector Description: Collect all Guns Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Their are a total 4 guns you need to find and pick up (5 if you count Dante's starting guns). Here are the locations of these 5 guns below: 1. Ebony + Ivory - Dante’s guns from the very beginning. 2. Shotgun - Find this on a table in the library across from the Sin Scissor picture, Mission 2. 3. Grenade Gun - After defeating Phantom in Mission 8, in the mechanism room shortly afterwards, grab the Grenade Gun from the skeleton. 4. Needle Gun - Mission 12, in the area with stairs leading up to the deck of the ship, grab the Needle Gun, which is near the stairs and is shining. 5. Nightmare Beta - In Mission 15, you will go into one of the Emblem areas (Blue or Red) and get a storyline-related item, Pair Of Lances. If you choose to go through the other as well, the item at the end will always be Nightmare Beta. Note: This info came from PS3trophies.org's trophy guide for this game. 32. The Devil Made Me Do It Description: Finish the game without using any Yellow Orbs Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Like the description suggests, you need to beat the game once without using even 1 Yellow Orb. What a Yellow Orb does (in this game) is that when ever Dante gets killed, the game will give you the option to retry without having to restart the mission (provided that you have at least 1 Yellow). It would be a good idea to not have any Yellow Orbs on you at all (unless you think you're going to need them for Hard and DMD). Expect to do another playthrough for this one if you're going for "I Read You Like A Book" on Normal as well. Difficulty matters not for this one, so I suggest going for this one either Normal or Easy Auto. If you happen to have the Super Dante costume unlocked (which is done by beating DMD), this will end up being a piece of cake thanks to the Unlimited DT this costume offers. 33. Untouchable Description: Clear a mission without taking damage Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Simple enough. This one has you beating a mission without taking damage once (like the description suggests). You'll want to stock up on Untouchables and Holy Waters for this one. I've read that Missions 2 and 5 are the best missions for this one, so play either one of those. You could try to bundle this with "Smashing Sensation" if you haven't already got it if you want. 34. Platinum Trophy Description: Unlock all trophies Gamerscore: N/A Trophy Color: Platinum Guide: This Trophy is for PS3 Players only. You get this when you have all the other Trophies in this game. ============================================================================== = Act 5: Devil May Cry 2's Achievements/Trophies and How to unlock them = ============================================================================== Total Gamerscore for this game (360): 320G Total Trophies for this game (PS3) Bronze: 12 Silver: 17 Gold: 4 Platinum: 1 1. Every Knee Will Bend Description: Finish the game on Normal Mode with any character Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-Related, so it can't be missed. All you need to do for this one is to beat the game on Normal with either Dante or Lucia. Normal Mode in this game is equivalent to DMC 1's Easy Auto. Unlike DMCs 1 and 3, this game doesn't have an Easy mode. I would highly suggest you go through Normal mode with Dante and Lucia, even if you decide you want to use Trish for Must Die. That way, if you decide not to use the Trish Unlock cheat or not use Trish at all, the character you actually decide on will at least be fully upgraded. If you opt not to use any cheats for this game, or if the 3 cheats doesn't unlock Hard, Must Die and Bloody Palace modes, then you kind of have to beat the game with Dante and Lucia anyway. Side Note: Dante's Story has 18 missions in it and Lucia's Story only has 13. 2. Every Head Will Bow Description: Finish the game on Hard Mode with any character Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Story-Related, but you need to beat the game on Normal with both Dante and Lucia as mentioned last achievement/trophy 1st (assuming that you don't use cheats). Other than that, you just need to beat the game with the Character of you're choice and that's it. Hard Mode in this game is equivalent to DMC 1's Normal Mode. If you use the Mission unlock cheat and it unlocks this difficulty, you only need to beat the game on Hard as Dante to unlock Trish, if you don't intend on using the Trish unlock cheat. Otherwise, just pick your character, beat the game on Hard and that's it. 3. Every Tongue Will Confess Description: Finish the game on Must Die Mode with any character Gamerscore: 40 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: Story-Related, but you need to beat the game on Hard with both Dante and Lucia (assuming that you don't use cheats). After that, you just need to beat the game on this difficulty setting and that's it. Must Die is equivalent to DMC 1's Hard with foes' ability to use DT. Unlike the last 2 diffculity based achievements/trophies, this only requires you to beat Must Die with either Dante, Lucia or Trish and not beat both Dante and Lucia's stories. If you plan on using Trish for Lucia's story on Must Die (and maybe Hard for that matter), I highly suggest using Lucia herself for Mission 7, since the boss on that mission can take forever with Trish. 4. Barehand Beauty Description: Finish the game on any difficulty with Trish Gamerscore: 15 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Trish is unlocked by beating Dante's story on Hard. After that, you just need to beat the game with Trish using either Dante or Lucia's story (Trish doesn't have her own story in this game) and that's it. Difficulty matters not with this one, so beat it on either Normal, Lucia's Hard (if you haven't beaten her story on that difficulty yet) or even Must Die if you want to save yourself a playthrough. If you intend on using Trish in Lucia's story on Must Die mode, there is something you should know. At the end of mission 7, there is a boss that can take awhile if you try to beat it as Trish. For this reason, I suggest that you swap Trish out with Lucia for that mission. If doing so voids this achievement/trophy however, then you'll either have to do you're best with the boss on that mission or switch on over to Dante's Story. If you use the Trish Unlock cheat, then you'll have Trish with you from the start (pretty much and assuming that it works). However, I highly suggest that you go through the game twice as Dante and Lucia respectively, so you'll get the achievements/trophies tied to them out of the way. 5. A Secret Revealed Description: Complete a Secret Mission Gamerscore: 5 Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: You're pretty much going to have to beat 20 secret missions to max out
Dante's health bar (or 10 with Lucia) anyway, so don't worry about not getting
this. Dante has a total of 60 secret missions (20 per difficulty) while Lucia
has a total of 30 (10 per difficulty). If you're having trouble finding the
secret mission rooms, here's a link to a guide below. The guide was written
by YuriSEAL Prime.

Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version.
Note 2: This also goes into detail with the Blue Orbs themselfs, so you could

6. First Blood
Description: Pass 1000 levels in Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Over 9000!" for details.

7. Blood Letting
Description: Pass 5000 floors in Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Refer to "Over 9000!" for details.

8. Over 9000!
Description: Pass 9000 floors in Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide for NTSC Version (US and possibly Japan): When you beat the game on
Normal with Dante and Lucia you'll end up unlocking Bloody Palace Mode with
both characters. This mode is basicly a survival mode that (from what I read)
never ends. After passing 1000 floors, the foes their make a habbit out of
using DT. For this reason, I highly suggest that you beat Must Die 1st, so it
won't be as much of a surprise when you take on the Palace (if at all).
Before you even think about doing the Bloody Palace, you'll want to have stock
up on all of the items the game will allow you to take into the Palace with.

As for the Palace itself, you'll have 3 portals to pick from after you've
beaten a wave of foes. The Red Portal will advance you 1 floor, the White
Portal will take you up 10 floors and the Green Portal will take you up 100
floors. I did not read if their are any perks to going up in floors via the
Red or White Portals such as getting (i.e. extra Health, extra DT, etc.) or
not (I know that was the case in the DMC 3 and DMC 4's version of the Bloddy
Palace (not sure about the DmC: Devil May Cry version of the said mode), but
at the time of this guide's summited date, I didn't own neither DMC 4 nor DmC:
Devil May Cry), so I would just stick with going up 100 floors in the palace
via the Green Portal.

In the character selection department, I would use either Dante or Trish.
I've read that the former is the stronger character of the 3 you could play as
is more likely to "beat" the palace faster, while the latter (I read) is the
best choice for the Bloody Palace in general. The only thing I read with
Lucia is that all she's got going for her is the fact that she's a fast
character (which is not a bad thing per se, but her Arsenals (which is where
her strength's at) are slow from what I've read).

After all that, "First Blood" will unlock after finishing 1000 floors, "Blood
Letting" will unlock after 5000 and this one will unlock after 9000.

Guide for PAL Version: When you've beaten Must Die Mode on either Dante or
Lucia's story (doesn't matter if you plan on using either character in
question or Trish), you can ignore most (if not, all) of what's on the guide
for NSTC version and use the Infinte DT cheat to make the Bloody Palace so
much easier. Pick the character you want to use, hold down the L1+L2+R1+R2
(PS3) or LB+LT+RB+RT (Xbox 360) and select the Bloody Palace. Don't let go of
the buttons until the round starts or it will not work. You'll know if it
works if you hear the DT gauge filling up. When it does, have fun. Of
course, if you rather have some kind of a challenge and/or you rather not use
Cheats, feel free to follow the guide for the NSTC version of the game.

Glitch Warring: I've read that sometimes foes will end up outside of the floor
itself, rendering the floor (and the Palace itself) unbeatable for that run of
the Bloody Palace. It seems to be caused by using Dante in general; he has a
Missile Launcher, which if fired on Mages, they tend to glitch out of the
floor. I'm not sure what else causes the glitch to happen, but if you're
using Dante, make sure you don't use the Missile Launcher on the Mages if they
happen to be on the floor you're on if at all possible.

9. Highest Honor
Description: Achieve an S Rank on any Mission with Dante
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: At the end of every mission, you'll receive a grade based on the
following criteria:

Time - How long you took to beat the mission.*
Style - How big your style combo was for the mission.
Damage - How much damage you suffered during the mission.
Orbs - How many Orbs you've collected in the mission.*
Items - How many items you've used during the mission.**

*Denotes that the marked criteria came from DMC 1.

**Marked criteria shouldn't be too hard to get an S rank on if you don't use
items at all.

To score an S Rank for the mission, you'll need to have a combination of the
following ranks in each criteria for an S Rank overall:

1. 3 S Ranks and 2 A Ranks
2. 4 S Ranks and at least a B Rank
3. All S Ranks

In other words: You can get away with a B rank, but you need 4 S Ranks to back
you up. Likewise you can get away with 2 A Ranks, but you'll need S Rank the
other 3 criterias. Also, you don't need to get all S Ranks as shown above,
but it sure as heck helps.

You only need to score 1 S Rank for 1 mission, so it'll unlock when you've
manage to do so. Here are the S Rank cut-offs for each mission with Dante:

Mission 1: 8:30, 300
Mission 2: 6:30, 3000
Mission 3: 8:30, 4500
Mission 4: 9:30, 4500
Mission 5: 11:30, 6000
Mission 6: 8:00, 1000
Mission 7: 8:00, 4000
Mission 8: 3:00, 1600
Mission 9: 6:00, 2000
Mission 10: 5:00, 3500
Mission 11: 8:30, 4500
Mission 12: 6:30, 3500
Mission 13: 2:30, 2500
Mission 14: 7:30, 6500
Mission 15: 2:30, 3000
Mission 16: 9:00, 7000
Mission 17: 4:00, 2000
Mission 18: 5:00, 2000

10. The Sky's The Limit
Description: Achieve an S Rank on any Mission with Lucia
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Highest Honor" for details. Here are the S Rank cut-offs for
each mission with Lucia:

Mission 1: 9:00, 4000
Mission 2: 10:00, 2500
Mission 3: 8:00, 5000
Mission 4: 5:30, 1600
Mission 5: 7:30, 3000
Mission 6: 10:30, 4000
Mission 7: 7:00, 4000
Mission 8: 8:30, 5000
Mission 9: 1:30, 1600
Mission 10: 7:30, 5500
Mission 11: 3:30, 2000
Mission 12: 9:00, 7000
Mission 13: 4:00, 7000

11. Vita Maxima
Description: Max out Health Bar with any character
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: For this one, you just need to max out you're health bar with either
Dante or Lucia (not sure about Trish). Each character has a total of 15 Blue
Orbs to find. 10 of them are Full Blue Orbs and the other 5 comes from the 20
Blue Orb fragments, 12 of them needed for the "Caeruleus Diabolus"
achievement/trophy. In the God of Time (this game's store), you'll need to
buy 5 of the Blue Orbs, which start at 3000 orbs, but go up in price each
time (up to 20,000 for the final one). Listed below are the prices of the
Blue Orbs. I got this from a DMC 2 walkthrough created by Mysticcat.

1. 3,000
2. 6,000
3. 10,000
4. 15,000
5. 20,000

That in turn will cost you a total of 54,000 orbs to purchase the 5 Blue Orbs.

I've already mentioned the Secret Mission ones in the "A Secret Revealed"
achievement/trophy, but just in case you've skiped that one, I'll let you know
how many missions you need beat with each character. Dante needs to beat 20
Secret Missions in order to get 10 of the Blue Orb fragments, while Lucia
needs to beat 10 of them.

Refer to "A Secret Revealed" for a guide for the Blue Orbs if you're having
trouble finding them.

12. Magica Maxima
Description: Max out Devil Trigger Gauge with any character
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Not much to say here. You just need to run into the God of Time and
purchase the Purple Orbs (the ones that up your DT gauge) with the character
of your choice and that's it. Like the Blue Orbs, they start at a certain
amount, but then go up in cost with each purchase. Listed below are the
prices of the Purple Orbs. I got this from an achievement guide on
Xbox360achievements.org.

1. 6,000
2. 10,000
3. 15,000
4. 20,000
5. 30,000

So you will need a total of 81,000 orbs to buy all of the Purple Orbs and
unlock this achievement/trophy.

13. Caeruleus Diabolus
Description: Collect 12 Blue Orb fragments
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: You'll be going for "Vita Maxima" anyway, so don't worry about not
getting this. This has to be done with either Dante or Lucia.

Glitch Warring: Apparently, if you happen to pick up a Full Blue Orb before
picking up 12 of the 20 Fragments, this can glitch up on you. This could be a
North American PS3 version only glitch, but it could happen in the other
versions of the game. To be safe, I advise getting 12 Blue Orb fragments
before getting any of the Full Blue Orbs.

Glitch Workaround: If this does glitch up on you, start a new game with either
Dante or Lucia and collect only the fragments. If the game asks you to save,
don't do it. Don't turn off your PS3 (or Xbox 360 if the glitch even exists
in that version) while you're going for this. Just move on to the next
mission. Keep at this until this pops.

collection where the final boss differs depending on which character's story

Argosax. All that being said, if you're having trouble with the game (and
1st impressions on the list says it's not that difficult, but just saying),
here's a walkthrough below. It was writen by Mysticcat.

26. En Vogue
Description: Perform an S Rank Combo using Lucia
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: If you're going to orb grind for either the harder difficulties and/or
the Bloody Palace, then I don't see how you can't get either one of these.
Here's a little run down with them though. The way combos work in this game
(and all of the other DMC games featured in this collection) is that, you have
to land hit after hit on you're foes without getting hit yourself. I'm not
sure how this game handles the Combo system, but you should be able to get
these on your 1st playthrough (especially if you know what you're doing).

27. Armed and Dangerous
Description: Reach Level 3 on any Sword with Lucia
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Lucia has 3 Swords she could have fully upgraded: Cutlaseer, Klyamoor
and Zambak. You only need to get to level 3 with one of these swords. Each
of the swords start at level 1. Getting to level 2 with a sword will cost
5000 red orbs and getting to level 3 will cost 10,000. In other words, it'll
cost 15,000 red orbs to fully upgrade one sword. It'll unlock when you've
fully upgrade the sword of your choice.

28. Arms Race
Description: Reach level 3 on any Gun with Dante
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Dante has 4 Guns he could have fully upgraded: Ebony & Ivory (his
Handguns), Shotgun, Submachine Gun and Missile Launcher. You only need to get
to level 3 with one of these guns. Each of the guns start at level 1.
Getting to level 2 with a gun will cost 5000 red orbs and getting to level 3
will cost 10,000. In other words, it'll cost 15,000 red orbs to fully upgrade
one gun. It'll unlock when you've fully upgrade the gun of your choice.

Yeah that was pretty much a copy and paste job there.

29. Like A Hot Knife Through Butter
Description: Reach level 3 on all Swords with Dante
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: Dante has 3 Swords to fully upgraded: Rebellion, Vendetta and
Merciless. Each of the swords will cost 15,000 red orbs to fully upgrade as
mentioned before. Since all 3 of his swords need to be fully upgraded, it'll
cost you a total of 45,000 red orbs to fully upgrade them all. Yeah, that's
all their is to it.

30. To The Max
Description: Reach Level 3 on all Arsenals with Lucia
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: Lucia has 4 Arsenals to fully upgraded: Throwing Knives, Darts, Cranky
Bombs and Bow Gun. Each of the arsenals will cost 40,000 red orbs to fully
upgrade (and that's per Arsenal. Yeah, I'm wondering whatever happen to
15,000 red orbs to fully upgrade one weapon). The only exeception to this is
the Bow Gun, which will cost 12,000 red orbs to fully upgrade. Altogether,
it'll cost you a total of 132,000 red orbs to fully upgrade of the Arsenals.
Yeah, that's quite a bit comparing to Dante, but I guess Capcom has to enforce
the sterotype that Girls have more expensive tastes than Guys.

31. Full Armory
Description: Collect all Swords with Dante
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: As mentioned before, Dante has a total of 3 swords (Rebellion, Vendetta
and Merciless). Here's the location of all of the swords below:

1. Rebellion - Dante starts off with this sword.

2. Vendetta - You'll find this one somewhere on mission 7 after you find the
Flame Heart with him. It'll be in a room with the Lava Pit.

3. Merciless - According to the Trophy guide on PS3trophies.org, their are 2
locations to this sword:

A. Mission 11 - This one's on top of the celling spikes that drop down on him.

B. Mission 14 - It'll be next to 1 of the 4 spheres that one must trigger to
get to the underworld (not sure if this one's true or not though).

Dante does have a 4th sword known as the Force Edge. He come equiped with
this sword through his DMC 1 costume. This sword (however) doesn't count
towards this achievement/trophy.

32. Check Out My Collection
Description: Collect all Arsenals with Lucia
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: As mentioned before, Lucia has a total of 4 Arsenals (Throwing Knives,
Darts, Cranky Bombs and Bow Gun). Here's the location of all of the Arsenals
below:

1. Throwing Knives - Lucia starts off with this Arsenal.

2. Darts - You'll find this one somewhere on mission 2 after you find the
Aerial Heart with her. It'll be inside a statue next to a Blue Orb Fragment.

3. Cranky Bombs - It'll be somewhere in mission 5. It'll be in the exact
same place where you would find the Missile Lancher as Dante if you've played
through his story.

4. Bowgun - This one's somewhere in the underwater section towards the end of
mission 6. Don't open the door that ends the mission without it.

33. Take Heart, Lucia
Description: Collect all Devil Hearts with Lucia
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Lucia has a total of 9 hearts that she needs to find. What these
hearts do is that they give addtional abilities when she goes into DT mode.
This also applies to Dante, but he's missing 1 heart. I've seperated the
hearts into groups of 3 and named them for simplicity sake. I'll even throw
in what mission you'll find the hearts as Dante as well, even though he
doesn't matter for this achievement/trophy. I'm not sure which heart(s) can't
be missed with Dante.

Elemental Hearts:

1. Frost Heart - Adds the Ice element to ones attack in DT mode.
As Lucia - She starts off with this heart.
As Dante - It'll be in a secret chamber somewhere in mission 16.

2. Electro Heart - Adds the Lighting element to ones attack in DT mode.
As Lucia - You'll find somewhere in mission 5 after placing the Evil Heart.
As Dante - He starts off with this heart.

3. Flame Heart - Adds the Fire element to ones attack in DT mode.
It's in the same location and both Dante and Lucia find this the same way:
It'll be on top of the staircase and they have to go into DT mode with the
Aerial Heart. Lucia finds this heart in mission 5 while Dante finds it in
Mission 7.

Ability Hearts:

1. Aerial Heart - Allows one to fly in DT mode.
As Lucia - After killing the Goatlings, it'll be somewhere in the 1st chamber
in mission 2. *Can't be missed*
As Dante - It'll be somewhere in the final chamber in mission 2.

2. Aqua Heart - Allows one to swim faster underwater.
As Lucia - It'll be somewhere in the 2nd chamber in mission 7.
As Dante - You can't get this heart as Dante.

3. Quick Heart - I guess this one ups ones speed in DT mode.
As Lucia - It'll be somewhere in mission 8 after solving the Moving
Globe Puzzle.
As Dante - It'll be in a vacent house in mission 4.

Support Hearts:

1. Healing Heart - Enhances ones a ability to heal in DT mode.
As Lucia - It'll be inside an empty house in mission 3.
As Dante - It's somewhere in mission 11 after solving a statue puzzle.

2. Offence Heart - Enhances ones attack power in DT mode.
As Lucia - It'll be inside a tunnel before the Orangguerra fight in mission 4.
You'll need to kill all of the Infestants 1st though.
As Dante - It'll be hiding behind a buring truck in mission 5.

3. Chrono Heart - Allows one to control time in DT mode (foes have to be
attacking in order for it to work).
Like the Flame Heart, this is also find in the same location and how to get
it's the same for both Dante and Lucia. It'll be inside the eye and they have
to smash foes in to its vein enough times. Lucia finds this heart in mission
11 while Dante finds it in mission 15.

Once you've found your 9th heart with Lucia, it'll unlock.

Note: I'm not sure if this is a glitch or if it's programed that way, but if
you don't find the hearts the 1st chance you get, they'll end up changing
locations in the next game.

1. Hell of a Start
Description: Finish the game on Normal Mode with any character.
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Story-Related, but it can be missed. You need to beat the game on
Normal as either Dante or Vergil. How this can be missed is that, unlike DMCs
1 and 2 (the latter of which doesn't have an easy mode at all), you can beat
the game for the 1st time on Easy without it being locked on Easy forever on
the Save File. For this reason, I recommend that you go through the game on
Easy for your 1st playthrough, especially if you find that you're having too
much trouble with Normal. That way, you can build up Dante (or Vergil if you
chose to play as him instead) and you'll be a lot stronger for Harder
Diffculities. Of couse if you rather use Normal as your "Build up
Dante/Vergil" playthrough and you're good enough for Normal with your starting
health, don't let me be the one to stop you.

If you're having trouble with the game, here a link to a walkthrough below.
It was writen by Berserker.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/930014-devil-may-cry-3-special-edition/faqs/41453
Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version, but it should still apply
to the 360 and PS3 versions.

Note: This game has a total of 20 missions and they are all the same no matter
the diffculity setting and which character you pick.

Note about Easy Mode: This mode also has an Automatic Mode, which alows one to
perform complex combos with a single button. Also, beating the game on Easy
will not unlock Hard, so you need to beat the game on Normal to unlock the
said diffculity setting.

How Easy Mode is unlocked: If you were to get killed 3 times in one mission
(i.e. Mission 2), then the game will tell you that you've unlocked Easy Mode.

2. Gone To Hell
Description: Finish the game on Hard Mode with any character
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Story-Related, but you need to beat the game on Normal to unlock this
diffculty. After that you just need to beat the game on Hard and that's it.
I would make sure you've at least build up your character's health bar, the
Devil Arms you plan on using (with Dante, not sure about Vergil since he gets
fixed equipment) and DT before attempting this.

3. To Hell And Back
Description: Finish the game on Very Hard Mode with any character
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Story-Related, but you need to beat the game on Hard to unlock this
diffculty. After that, you just need to beat the game on Very Hard. In
addtion to upgrading you're Health bar, Devil Arms and DT (if you've haven't
already and/or done too much of it) you'll want to stock up on all of the Holy
Waters, Vita Stars, Devil Stars (for DT) and Gold Orbs (or Yellow Orbs if
you're playing on Yellow Orbs mode) you can and have plenty of Red Orbs on
hand (just in case you need to buy more items) before attempting Very Hard
Mode.

Note: Beating the game on Very Hard will get you the Super Dante costume
(or Super Vergil if you've been playing as him).

Note about the Super Dante/Vergil costume: This costume gives unlimited DT to
those who choose to wear it. However, this costume doesn't restore your
health like any other costume would. Also, using the Quicksilver or
Doppleganger styles (Dante), Summoning Sprial Swords (Vergil) and using DT
Flux* will still drain your DT gauge like (almost) all of the other costumes
will.

*For those who are wondering, Press and hold L1 on the PS3 or RB(?) on the 360
to get use this move.

4. Hell Hath No Fury...
Description: Finish the game on Dante Must Die Mode with any character.
Gamerscore: 40
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: Story-Reated, but you need to beat the game on Very Hard in order to
unlock this diffculty. After that, you just need to beat the game on Must
Die mode and that's it. On Must Die Mode, really strong foes gain the ability
to use DT and they will use it after enough time has past and/or they see the
weaker foes get sliced and diced (to sort of speak), so take the stronger foes
out of the picture and do it fast.

It's not a bad idea to make sure you've got a full health bar, max out all of
the Devil Arms (or at least the ones you actually plan on using), a maxed out
DT gauge and all of the Styles at level 3 and choose the style you want to
use. I would also carry all of the Holy Waters, Vita Stars and Gold/Yellow
Orbs you can and have plenty of Red Orbs so you can buy more down the road.

It's also not a bad idea to wear the Super Dante/Vergil costume you got from
beating Very Hard mode, even though it doesn't restore you're health. Just
make sure you're carry all of the Devil Stars you can get your hands on for
this Diffculty as well, especially if you plan on using DT Flux a lot during
DMD/VMD.

Note: Beating the game on Must Die will unlock the Super Sparda costume (or
Super Nelo Angelo (a.k.a. Super Corrupt Vergil) if you've been playing the
game as Vergil).

Note about the Super Sparda/Nelo Angelo costume: Like the Super Dante/Vergil
costume, this costume also gives unlimited DT to those who choose to wear it.
Unlike the Super Dante/Vergil costume, the way this costume handles DT is the
same any other costume (except for draining it of course).

What does this mean: It'll restore your health (at a much faster rate than the
other costumes) using the Quicksilver or Doppleganger styles with Dante,
Summoning Sprial Swords with Vergil and using DT Flux will not drain your DT
gauge, so you have the true definition of unlimited DT with this costume.

5. Heaven Can Wait
Description: Finish the game on Heaven or Hell Mode with any character
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Story-Related, but you need to beat the game on Must Die in order to
unlock this diffculty. Compaired to Must Die, this is a piece of cake. In
this mode, you can die in 1 hit, but so can your foes and the game's bosses.
This diffculity setting is part of the reason why I chose Dante over Vergil.
Dante is able to use his handguns (Ebony & Ivory) to keep his distance from
his foes, while Vergil has to get up close and personal. Well... He does
have his Sprial Swords, but personal experience says that they don't too much
damage if at all. If you feel like you need to use the Super Costumes to get
past certain missions (or if you feel like you need the extra speed), then by
all means use them. Just don't expect the Super Sparda/Nelo Angelo costume to
save you from dying in 1 hit. Other than that, just beat the game on Heaven
or Hell and you'll unlock this.

6. Am I My Brother's Keeper?
Description: Finish the game on any difficulty as Vergil
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: This is the only achievement/trophy on this list that's related to
Vergil. You just need to beat the game as him and that's it. In order to
play as him, you need to beat the game once as Dante (be it on Easy or
Normal). This one's not picky on which difficulty play on, so you can on Easy
if you want. Also, if you want to save yourself a playthrough, you could
combine this with "The Path Less Travelled" and pick Yellow Orbs mode along
with Vergil.

Of course, if you chose Vergil as your choice of character for the difficulty
achievements/trophies and the Bloody Palace, then don't worry about not
getting this. Just make sure you're playing on Gold Orbs mode, so the
difficulty achievements/trophies are sightly easier. Here's a guide made for
this character so you have an idea of what to expect with him, if you're
interested. It was made by shin_vae_victus.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/930014-devil-may-cry-3-special-edition/faqs/41350
Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version.

7. Worst Kept Secret
Description: Complete a Secret Mission with any character
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Left No Stone Unturned" for details.

8. Left No Stone Unturned
Description: Complete all Secret Missions with any character
Gamerscore: 15
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: For this one, you just need to beat the 12 Secret Missions this game
has to offer. Each one of these Secret Missions gives a Blue Orb Fragment for
beating them for the 1st time. If you choose to go into a Secret Mission
after you've beaten them for the 1st time (you can do a secret mission as many
times as you want), you'll get an addtional 1,000 red orbs (which apparently
decreases over time). Some of the Secret Missions can be a pain in the @$$,
so I suggest you hold off on completing some of the Secret Missions until you
have the means to tackle them.

Reguardless, it doesn't matter which character you use nor does it matter what
difficulty setting you use (though, I highly suggest either Easy or Normal),
but it has to be with the same character.

9. To Hell With That
Description: Kill 100 enemies during the credits
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: You'll get your 1st chance to kill some enemies after beating Vergil in
Mission 20 on Normal/Easy as Dante. All you need to do for this is to kill
enough enemies during the ending credits (100) and you'll not only unlock
this, but see an extra cutscene on how Vergil *censored due to DMC 1
spoilers* (the latter is only true for Dante). You do get at least 4 other
chances at this, but at harder difficulties, it can get quite hard, so I
suggest you go for this on either Easy, Normal or (if you want to go that far)
Heaven or Hell. The ending credits can be skipped, so if you haven't got this
when beating the game for the 1st time, don't skip them. Don't worry if Lady
steals some of your kills; Capcom was nice enough to make sure her kills
counted towards the 100 needed for this achievement/trophy. I don't remember
how many I had between myself and Lady personally (I wasn't writing this at
the time), but I know it was more than 100 and I believe it was somewhere
between 130 and 160 and I was on Easy when I got this (and it was my 1st try
to boot *smiley face*).

10. Blood, Sweat, and Tears
Description: Pass 666 levels in Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Bloody Hell" for details.

11. Blood Donor
Description: Pass 5000 levels in Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Refer to "Bloody Hell" for details.

12. Bloody Hell
Description: Complete Bloody Palace Mode
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: After beating the game for the 1st time, you'll unlock the Bloody
Palace. Like DMC 2's version of the said mode, this palace also has 9999
floors and has portals that go up 1, 10 and 100 floors respectivly. Unlike
DMC 2's Bloody Palace and like the description suggests, getting killed in the
Palace is not the only way to leave this Palace. If you've played DMC 2's
version of the Bloody Palace, then you should already have an idea how this
version works.

If you haven't and/or you don't, here's a summery for you: Basicly, you will
need to beat waves of randomly selected foes in order to progress into the
Palace. After beating a wave, 3 portals will pop up. In the case of this
game, we have the Water, Lighting and Fire portals and (in this game's case) 2
of them give Health and DT respectivly. Here's what each of the Portals do
below.

Water Portal - Gives Dante/Vergil Health in exchange for only going up 1
floor. Don't use this portal unless you're using the Super Dante/Vergil
costume and you need health.

Lighting Portal - Fills part of Dante/Vergil's DT gauge in exchange for only
going up 10 floors. Unless you're not wearing the Super costumes (and who in
their right minds wouldn't), don't ever use this portal.

Fire Portal - Doesn't restore neither Health nor DT, but does let Dante/Vergil
go up 100 floors. Always use this portal unless you need Health with the
Super Dante/Vergil costume

On certain floors (after every 10 waves in this game's case), you'll face a
boss from the main game (which in this game's case is also randomly selected).
Assuming you go through the Fire Portal everytime, you'll have to endure 101
waves which include 10 bosses in between enemy waves.

I'm going to give you the same advice I gave for DMC 2's version of the Bloody
Palace: Beat Must Die with the character of your choice 1st. They're 2
reasons for this:

1. Like DMC 2's Bloody Palace, foes will start using DT after a certain amount
of floors (9000 in this game's case). Beating Must Die will prepair you for
this, but the foes that start appearing on floor 9000+ will use it right away,
instead of waiting for a certain amount of time to pass and/or having a weak
foe killed in front of them.

2. As mentioned before, It'll unlock the Super Sparda/Nelo Angelo (Corrupt
Vergil), which if worn will give unlimited DT. The same could be said for the
Super Dante/Vergil costume (which is unlock by beating Very Hard mode as
mentioned before), but they don't restore the wearer's health like the Super
Sparda/Nelo Angelo costume does.

You're not allowed to bring items into the Bloody Palace like you could've in
DMC 2's version of the Bloody Palace, but that shouldn't be too much of an
issue with the Super costumes (especially if you use the Super Sparda/Nelo
Angelo costume which I highly suggest that you use). The Bloody Palace will
take you about 2 hours to beat and that's assuming you using a fully upgraded
character and he's wearing the Super Sparda/Nelo Angelo Costume like I
suggested.

13. Devilish Deed
Description: Achieve an S Rank on any mission with any character
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Hellish Honor" for details.

14. Hellish Honor
Description: Achieve an S Rank on all missions (any difficulty or character)
Gamerscore: 40
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: Out of all of the "S Rank" achievements/trophies in this collection,
this is the hardest one to get; the 40G on the 360 (for what Capcom can do
with the 1000G limit) and the Gold Trophy (PS3) are both quite fitting. We
are not helped out by the fact that out of all of the games on this
collection, this game happens to be the hardest one.

Anyway, you just need to beat all of the game's missions with an S Rank. It
doesn't matter what difficulty you use/get an S Rank on (thank god x2) nor
does it matter if which character you use, but I believe it has to be with the
same character. You're best bet is to get all of the S Ranks on Easy since
the requirements are not as high as they would be on difficulties like Must
Die. However, it's still going to be a pain in the @$$. I should know, their
were some missions in the game I just couldn't get an S Rank in, no matter how
hard I tried. As of this guide's posted date, I stopped at Mission 15.

Update: I've finally finished Mission 15 some time ago, but now I'm stuck on
Mission 18. It sure as hell doesn't help that the game's not leanent in the
Damage department (even on Easy) and the fact I've haven't played it much in
awhile. Hopefully I beat it soon though.

At any rate, like in DMC 2, you're graded on the following criteria:

Time - How long you took to beat the mission.
How to S Rank this criteria: Just beat the mission as fast as you can and
that's it. This game does feature a Turbo Mode, which when turned on makes
the gameplay about 20% faster. In theory, this would leave you with a better
time then you would have otherwise. I've never used it at the time of this
guide's summited date, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Style - How big your style combo was for the mission.
How to S Rank this criteria: Just try to get as big of a style combo as
possible without getting hit. Simple on paper, but it can be hard at
practice. Strangly, the harder the difficulty setting (other than Heaven or
Hell), the more likely you are to get an S Rank on this criteria (especially
since the foes on higher diffculties take longer to beat), so if push comes to
shove, try a harder diffculty setting.

Damage - How much damage you suffered during the mission.
How to S Rank this criteria: Just make sure you take little to no damage while
doing the missions. Another "Simple on paper, but it can be hard at
practice" kind of deals here. If you're difficulty of choice is Must Die,
then you have to take no damage at all.

Orbs - How many Orbs you've collected in the mission.
How to S Rank this criteria: Just grab all of the Orbs you can get your hands
on and that's it. I know it's the Red ones (which are the money orbs) that
are effected by this, but I'm not sure about the Green ones (which restore
your health). You're style combo seems to dictate how many orbs you get when
you kill an foe, but I could be wrong.

Items - How many items you've used during the mission.
How to S Rank this criteria: Don't use even 1 item that you happen to have on
you (if you have any to begin with). Simple as that.

So just like DMC 2, you can get the following Rank combs for an S Rank
overall.

1. 3 S Ranks and 2 A Ranks
2. 4 S Ranks and at least a B Rank
3. All S Ranks*

*This does result in an SS Rank, but I believe it'll still count as an normal
S rank.

It won't be easy, even if you put it on Easy like I suggested, but you'll
unlock this sooner or later. Oh and make sure you're not wearing the Super
Costumes when you attempt this; it'll basicly lock you out of an S Rank if you
wear them. Of course, if you need help, here's a guide below. It was writen
by Gen2000.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/930014-devil-may-cry-3-special-edition/faqs/41384
Note: Assumes that you're playing the PS2 version and you're going for an SS
Rank.
Note 2: This guide isn't necessarily complete, but it should still give you an
idea of what to expect as far as the requirements go (especially on Must Die).

15. Man's Best Friend
Description: Defeat Cerberus
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 3. Beating this boss will net you the weapon "Cerberus", which work
a bit like Nunchucks. My opinion, it's OK, but their are better weapons out
their (like your starting one).

Extra Info: This boss is weak to Fire (Agni & Rudra). When you 1st
playthrough the game though, you won't have this weapon, so you'll have to
make due with the Rebellion.

16. Pest Control
Description: Defeat Gigapede
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 4.

Extra Info: This boss is weak to Fire (Agni & Rudra) and Ice (Cerberus), the
latter of which you'll have at this point.

17. Double Trouble
Description: Defeat Agni and Rudra
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into these 2 bosses at the
end of Mission 5. Beating this boss will net you the weapon "Agni & Rudra",
which will make Dante a dual wielder. This was one of my weapons of choice,
my main one at that.

Extra Info: Agni is weak to Ice (Cerberus). Rudra has no known weaknesses.

18. Sibling Rivalry
Description: Survive an encounter with Vergil
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 7. I'm not sure what Vergil's Weakness is (unless it's the Beowulf
and I never really bothered testing it out).

19. Inside Out
Description: Defeated the Heart of Leviathan
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 8.

Extra Info: This boss is (apparently) weak to Fire (Agni & Rudra).

20. Lightning In A Bottle
Description: Defeat Nevan
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 9. Beating this boss will net you the weapon "Nevan", which is only
good for Crowd Controling purposes (although, when given a certain upgrade,
it'll let Dante fly when he's in DT mode, which comes in handy for certain
secret missions). Does look kind of cool though.

Extra Info: Nevan is weak to Ice (Cerberus).

21. Lights Out
Description: Defeat Beowulf
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 11. This boss has no known weaknesses.

22. Rough Rider
Description: Defeat Geryon
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 12. I'm not sure what the Geryon's weakness is. Beating this boss
will not give you addtional weapons, but you'll be given the Quicksliver
Style, which basicly will let you slow down time when activated.

23. Brotherly Love
Description: Fight Vergil a second time and prevail
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You've run into this boss at the end of
Mission 7 and will face him again in Mission 13. Beating this boss will
(indirectly) give you the weapon "Beowulf", which you'll pick up in Mission
14. This weapon will make you some kind of a marshal artist. This thing is
slow and can get you killed on Must Die. I've read it's suppose to be pretty
powerful, but I just don't see the potental everyone's saying it has. Don't
use it unless you need to bust open a style statue.

24. That's Not Lady-Like
Description: Defeat Lady
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 16. This boss has no known weakness. Beating this boss will give you
the weapon "Kalina Ann", which works a bit like a Rocket Launcher.

25. Step Into The Light
Description: Defeat Doppleganger
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: Refer to "Asylum" for details. You'll run into this boss at the end of
Mission 17. I'm not sure the Doppleganger's weakness is (although, if you can
lure this boss to the light, it'll help out your cause a bit). Beating this
boss will not give you addtional weapons, but you'll be given the Doppleganger
Style, which will summon a a copy of yourself when activated.

26. Asylum
Description: Defeat Arkham
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Bronze
Guide: This achievement/trophy and all of the other ones related to it are all
story-related, so they can't be missed. When I mentioned certain weapons and
style rewards you unlock after beating certain boss', I kind of mean along the
lines of you're 1st playthrough on the save file and they mainly apply to
Dante. After taking off half of this boss' health, Vergil decides that he's
going to help Dante out with this boss fight. He acts like Dante's
Doppleganger without eating up your DT, which you don't get to use at that
point of the boss fight. Vergil also has unlimited health. After beating the
boss and a cutscene plays out, you'll be on Mission 20 and Vergil will decide
that Dante Must Die (no pun intended).

All that being said, you'll run into this boss at the end of Mission 19.

27. Big Spender
Description: Purchase all Devil Arm skills with Dante
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Easy enough, but you need to unlock the other Devil Arms Dante has 1st.
You just need to purchase all of the skills for each Devil Arm and that's it.
This achievement/trophy only applies to Dante (which along with all the other
achievements/trophies related to him are another reason why I chose Dante over
Vergil), so his twin brother Vergil will not count. That being said, here's
a list of all of the Devil Arms has to upgrade and how much each upgrade will
cost below:

Rebellion
Stinger Lv.1 - 2,500 Orbs
Stinger Lv.2 - 10,000 Orbs
Drive - 10,000 Orbs
Air Hike - 20,000 Orbs

Cerberus
Revolver Lv.2 - 15,000 Orbs
Windmill - 7,500 Orbs

Agni & Rudra
Jet Stream Lv.2 - 10,000 Orbs
Jet Stream Lv.3 - 15,000 Orbs
Whirlwind - 7,500 Orbs
Air Hike - 20,000 Orbs

Nevan
Reverb Shock - 7,500 Orbs
Reverb Shock Lv.2 - 15,000 Orbs
Bat Rift - 10,000 Orbs
Air Raid - 20,000 Orbs
Volume Up - 20,000 Orbs

Beowulf
Straight Lv.2 - 10,000 Orbs
Beast Uppercut - 7,500 Orbs
Rising Dragon - 15,000 Orbs
Air Hike - 20,000 Orbs

All together, you'll need a total of 242,500 Red Orbs. I've read that Mission
1 on Easy is good for Orb farming if you can get an S Rank on that mission
everytime (pretty much). I've also read that Mission 20 is also good for Orb
grinding as you'll get a fixed 9,500 Orbs for beating the boss and up to
14,500 with an overall S Rank.

28. Who's Laughing Now?
Description: Defeat Jester in all of his forms
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: You run into this extra boss' portal 3 times per playthrough, 1 of
which is required for story-related reasons. The other 2 portals can be
missed, but due to how easy they are to spot, you pretty much have to go out
of you're way to miss them.

The required one is at the begining of Mission 5. The 1st of the two missable
ones can be found in Mission 12, just before the staircase the leads to the
Geryon boss fight. The other missable one can be found in Mission 17 in the
room that lead to the 3 trials room in Mission 6.

All that being said, the method for beating all 3 forms of this boss are
pretty much the same.

1. Spam your handguns (Ebony and Ivory in case you forgot) until he starts
blocking them with his staff.

2. Go after him with the Devil Arm of your choice when he does until he
teleports away from you.

3. When he does that, he'll put up a shield and balls will pop up, damaging
you if they hit you. Avoid them the best you can until the shield goes down.

4. When it does, repeat steps 1 through 3 until he's dead.

In the 2nd and 3rd fights, he'll summon a ball-shaped head that will allow him
to take more damage and attack you. However, the method for killing the
Jester stands, you'll just have to go after the head instead of the clown.

Note: This boss was made exclusively for DMC 3: Dante's Awakening Special
Edition, which (in case you forgot or skipped the details) is what the list
for this game is based on.

29. The Path Less Traveled
Description: Clear every mission in Yellow Orb Mode
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Easy on paper, but can be tricky without prior knowledge of the game
and how it works (i.e. having played the original PS2 version before, beat the
game once through the collection). Anyway, Yellow Orb mode is basicly the
original DMC 3's Orb setting (the only one at that, or at least as far as I
know). Their are quite a few differences between Yellow and Gold Orb modes
(some good, some bad). Here's a list of them below:

Yellow Orbs (Original DMC 3):

Pros
+You can carry up to 99 of them at one time.
+Are cheap to purchase (goes up to 3,000 Red Orbs).

Cons
-If you don't have any or if you choose not to use one, it's game over and you
have to restart the mission.

Gray Area
*Makes you restart from the last room you've survived in if you use one. How
this can be good and bad is that on one hand, you don't get a game over, but
on the other it can get really annoying really fast. Mostly considered to be
a bad thing if you were facing a boss when you've died.
*You need to be on Yellow Orbs mode in order to 100% this game (and the entire
collection for that matter).

Gold Orbs (Special Edition exculsive as far as I know):

Pros
+Let's you restart from where you died (handy for Bosses).
+Works like a Yellow Orb if you don't use one or if you don't have any (except
they're not used up with the former).
+Pretty much have unlimited continues (provided you don't run out).

Cons
-Are really expensive to purchase (starts at 10,000 Red Orbs and caps it at
20,000).
-You can only carry up to 3 of them at one time.

Gray Area
*None that I'm aware of.

For you're 1st playthrough, I highly suggest that you beat the game on Gold
Orbs mode, especially if you're a beginner like myself. Of course, if you've
played the game before and/or you chose Vergil as your character and you want
to try to save yourself an extra playthrough, then go right ahead and select
Yellow Orbs mode for you're 1st playthrough.

Otherwise, whichever character you plan on using for the difficulty based
achievements/trophies should be on Gold Orbs mode. The other should be used
as you're Yellow Orbs run. If you plan on using Dante as you're character,
you can also save yourself a playthrough by bundling Vergil and Yellow Orb
Modes together.

Oh and by the way, the only way you can switch between Yellow and Gold orb
modes is by starting a new game.

30. Trend Setter
Description: Reach the highest level in all Styles with Dante
Gamerscore: 20
Trophy Color: Gold
Guide: Dante has a total 4 styles he'll need to upgrade to level 3: Trickster
(which is selected by default), Gunslinger, Sword Master and Royal Guard. He
also has the Quicksilver and Doppleganger styles, making it a total of 6, but
those two styles don't count towards this achievement/trophy. Leveling a
style to level 2 will take 30,000 points and leveling it to level 3 will take
99,999 points.

For you're 1st playthrough, I recommend leveling Sword Master 1st for the sake
of the Beowulf Style Statues you run into later and as much of Trickster as
you can for S Ranking the missions later (on easier difficulites of course).
Rather or not you do this though, that's up to you.

This will take you about 2 playthroughs, but if you replay mission 18 enough
times, you can max out you're styles that way as well (especially if you're
on Heaven or Hell).

31. Locked 'n Loaded
Description: Reach the highest level for any gun with Dante
Gamerscore: 5
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Dante has 5 different guns he could have fully upgraded: Ebony and
Ivory, Shotgun, Artemis, Spiral and Kalina Anne. It doesn't matter what gun
you decide to fully upgrade, but the cheapest one is the Ebony and Ivory.
The handguns will cost a total of 15,000 red orbs to fully upgrade. I'm not
sure how much the other ones will cost to fully upgrade.

32. Maximize Your Health
Description: Max out the Health Bar with Dante
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: For this one, you have to (like the description suggests) max out
Dante's health bar. You will either need to find Blue Orb Fragments in the
gameplay areas, win them through Secret Missions or destory a style staute for
them. Their are a total of 32 Blue Orb Fragments and for every 4 you collect,
you'll gain 1 blue orb. What this means is that their are a total of 8 Blue
Orbs to be obtained via Blue Orb Fragments.

Getting Blue Orb Fragments is not the only way to increase Dante's health.
You'll also have to purchase the 6 Blue Orbs either from the Divinity Statues
(this game's store) or through the Customize option that appears everytime
you're about to start a mission. They start at 5,000 Red Orbs, but they go up
to 10x that. Here's a list of what each of the Blue Orbs' going to cost
below:

1. 5000
2. 10000
3. 15000
4. 20000
5. 30000
6. 50000

Altogether, it'll cost you a total of 130,000 Red Orbs in order to get all of
the Blue Orbs.

33. Give 'em Hell
Description: Max out the Devil Trigger Gauge with Dante
Gamerscore: 10
Trophy Color: Silver
Guide: Like the description for this suggests, you need to max out Dante's
DT Gauge. However, Dante doesn't get to use his DT Gauge until after Mission
7. After mission 7, Purple Orbs (the ones that up you're DT gauge) will start
pop up in the Divinity Statues and through the Customize option. You just
need to purchase all of the Purple Orbs from the store and it'll unlock
itself. Here's what each of the Purple Orbs are going to cost below:

1. 3000
2. 5000
3. 7000
4. 9000
5. 10000
6. 20000
7. 30000

Altogether, it'll cost you a total of 84,000 Red Orbs in order to get all of
the Purple Orbs.

34. Platinum Trophy
Description: Unlock all trophies
Gamerscore: N/A
Trophy Color: Platinum
Guide: This Trophy is for PS3 Players only. You get this when you have all
the other Trophies in this game.

| Act 5: How to Contact me |
==============================================================================

You have 2 Main ways of contacting me:

1. Send me a E-mail
2. Send me a message on my Gamertag on X-Box Live

My E-mail address shadowjohn91(at)yahoo(dot)com.
My Gamertag is Gamer364. This can be done only through a text message.

E-mail or Message me if you:

A. See a spelling error: I may have made spelling errors as I was writing
this.

B. Have a question that needs asking: You may have something that needs
clearing up or something to that affect.

C. Have a correction to make: I'm not 100% sure on some of the stuff mentioned
though out the guide.

D. Want to use my guide on your website: I personally have no problem
letting you use my guide on your website, as long as you ask me first, and you
give me credit for it.

E. Think you see someone using my guide without permission: I don't like it
when people steal my stuff (at least, not without asking me first). I don't
do it to other people (at least without giving other people credit for the
idea), so why do it to me anyway?

F. Have something to add-on to this or that/there's something I forgot to
include: If there something you think I should have included, but I didn't,
you are encouraged to send me an Email for this or that.

Do note that if you do decide you want to message me, make sure if the topic
is about Devil May Cry HD Collection (You could also specifiy the game if you
feel your message only applies to that Devil May Cry game).

As of right now the only sites that have permission to use my guide:
A. GameFAQs (I have an ancount with them, so they don't really need my
permission.)
B. Neoseeker (The owner got permission in advanced)
C. Supercheats (The owner got permission in advanced)
More to come (maybe).

Don't even think about email me if you are going to send me:
A. Hate Mail
B. Spam
C. Name Calling mail
D. Barelly readable/Unreadable mail
E. Mail with mostly creative words (if you get my drift)

Letter A I take offence to, because I don't send hate mail to no one.

I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not
with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live,
don't think I won't wirte a complant about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you.

With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school.

Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check avaiable to you and
your not sure of your spelling, then why not use it?

Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that
anyway.

All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in
reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it.

Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you
credit for it.

Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I
might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet
is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get
one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even
then, I might still not get your message right away.
