The formatting. ~This thing should've been out June 2003. It's now February 2004. For shame. ~Not like I get paid to do this :) ~Added specific mission tricks ~Added Talk To The Hand, needs more data *Future* ~Should fill in some tedious details like Command points. ~Better document tricks and glitches. ~The rest is a mystery. ______________________________________________________________________________ [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] II. These ranks are only important for one thing. To release VTs that you have fought/found but were not worthy of yet. The numbers below are fully from experience and that's why they are so odd. No assumptions made. One thing to note about the below is that Rapier is only first possible along side the Quasar because the Rapier requires 10 Decorations. A decoration require 12000 Command Points. 10 * 12000 = 120000 which is also coincidentally the estimation for the Command point requirement for Warrant Officer. _____________________________________________________________________ / Rank Chart \ |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| | RANK POINT_RANGE VTs_RELEASED | |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| M H | Corporal 0 - | A O | Sergeant 26242 - 49687 | H T | Staff Sergeant 53092 - 77890 | G M | Sergeant Major 84542 - 115037 | N A | Warrant Officer 121697 - 157587 Quasar, possibility for Rapier | I I | Second Lieutenant 160377 - 160377 Behemoth, Regal N, Regal A | T L | | T . | | O C | Captain 354105 - 387844 | N O | Major 400372 - 542140 | @ M | Lieutenant Colonel 571972 - 742694 | | Colonel 831179 - 849329 Juggernaut | \_____________________________________________________________________/ ___________________________ / Score Multiplier \ |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| MAHG | DIFFICULTY SUPPLY COMMAND | NIT |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| TON | Rookie 2.5 0.5 | @HOT | Normal 1.0 1.0 | MAIL | Veteran 0.8 1.2 | .COM | Desperado 0.7 1.5 | | Magnum Force 0.6 1.8 | | Armageddon 0.5 2.5 | \___________________________/ And the following is a listing of when you will first BE ABLE TO USE each VT and the ranks/decorations needed. First VTs are ordered by the number of main+sub weapons each VT can equip (VTs with few weapon load out options on the left), and weapons first ordered by the number of VTs that can equip those weapons (rarer/unique weapons at the bottom of the main/sub lists). Then the VT list is further ordered by rare weaponry (the more rares a VT has the more to the right it is to those VTs it was previously tied with). The weapon list is further ordered by moving items to get a smoother curve (tending to leave the lower left corner of each plot space empty). Further ties are ordered by weights and weight limits. I think this ordering by rarity tends to show what the designers intended for each VT... at least weapon-wise. And as you can see, the Prominence has quite an insane choice of weaponry, and quite a few are totally unique to the Prom! Is it any wonder that it is one of my favorite VTs? I love having so many unique advantages. ________________________________________________________________________ / WEAPON VTs_EQUIPPABLE_BY WEAPON \ This section will probably get an update sooner rather than later: &#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#3 >>>>>>>> Lock Off - The AI in this game can detect when it has been locked onto and fired upon. Its AI routines say that a certain percentage of the time, when fired upon, it will dodge (tougher enemies dodge more. Stupid field Vitzhs rarely. Base boss Jaralaccs NS will 90% of the time!). The trick? Don't lock on. All weapons can still be fired manually. If you have good aim you can get a much higher hit percentage and the AI enemy will never dodge your fire intentionally (though they do sometimes dodge to get around terrain or other VTs). Credit to Parias of SBC.PIPPIN.US for this trick, absolutely essential. &#53#3 >>>>>>>> Rail Gun Load And Lock - I took the above trick, then applied it to the Rail Gun of the Hai Shi Dao (NOT the Pacific Rim Force's!). What you do is aim your reticule at an enemy (make sure the RG is kinda aimed at the ________ enemy), do NOT lock on, hit the fire button, the Rail Gun will Mahgnit/ power up, NOW Lock On (F.S.S. recommended). ZZZAP! BOOM! Enemy ton@Ho/ down! What happened was by having the Rail Gun take so long to power tmail/ up, then locking on, this Rail Gun is able to bypass the AI check for .com/ incoming fire and has no chance at dodging. I feel so sorry for the ___/ enemy, don't you? :) &# >>>>>>>> Travel By Torch - Speed? You got it. Torches allow for quicker ground speed than any other way with that VT. Especially the 205-PT since it recovers the quickest it's the best with this. Very oddly, when deploying a plasma torch attack you jet forward. This can be used to get places very quickly. The main negative? Huge fuel consumption. It may be worth it at times so keep it in mind. 2nd negative, if you are trying to turn while doing this and start to tip over you can NOT regain balance. It's very likely as you will be going really fast. I personally use this in missions like 2, 3, and 10 where getting from point to point is important. &#35#3 >>>>>>>> Low Arch Mortar Power - Now this is a cool trick I stumbled on when using the infinite ammo code and abusing the MLR. When you CHANGE weapons (to a different one, from one that was already fully "ready") there seems to be a small time before the weapon FULLY deploys where it is aiming more towards the ground. If you try to fire the MLR (or MOST ANY OTHER MORTAR WEAPONRY, ________ but not all) during this time it will empty into the ground right Mahgnit/ ahead of you and immediately explode. This trick can be pretty ton@Ho/ devastating to any VT in your way (if using the MLR especially, on tmail/ groups of enemies even more) and a great way to still use this weapon .com/ when indoors, even when using the low ammo given. Let me reiterate, ___/ the important point is that the MORTAR, when using the cycle weapon button, must be cycling away from ~another~ NON-MORTAR weapon that is FULLY deployed. "Fully deployed" means the weapon is no longer making noises getting into position (that's just to be safe though, I think you can change a bit earlier than that). Smoke is not a weapon. &ampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampamp#3 >>>>>>>> Slow Reload Times Getting You Down? - There are several weapons that have gawd awful reload times. They bog your fire rate down till you can use them again. A trick I found to bypass this is to cycle through your weapons. This removes the reload time (however if you have 3 weapons then you are forced to cycle through an extra weapon instead of if you only had 2. This means having fewer weapons can be an advantage). EVEN if you decide to cycle right on back to the original weapon :) In this way you can fire off many volleys of a weapon in much shorter periods. Things like Rail Guns, or Howitzers, or... &#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#3 >>>>>>>> Smoke In Your Eyes - This trick is merely a derivative of the above I found when trying to figure out exactly what Smoke does and doesn't do. Smoke has great potential. What it does NORMALLY is cause ALL enemies to stop firing on you for about 3 seconds, and not be able to use Smoke again for something like 10. However, if you use Smoke, then press the Sub cycle button ________ to cycle through all Sub weapons (if you have 3 sub weapons, press Mahgnit/ SUB 3 times) you will end up back at Smoke able to bypass the ton@Ho/ reload restriction :) Essentially, this trick can cause ANY AND ALL tmail/ ENEMIES to ignore you for however long you have Smoke. What you give .com/ up is the quick access to other Sub weapons during this period, and a ___/ bit of control (it's hard to steer and fire when hitting the sub button so much), still, given a big enough MAIN gun, that's all you need. BTW, too much overlapping Smoke displays causes a bit of slow down to the game. &# >>>>>>>> Magazine Reload Reload - One more reload trick but this one only involves Main Gun weapons that have magazines. If you fire off a MAIN weapon, ________ then press the MAGAZINE CHANGE button, the reload of the previous Mahgnit/ MAIN attack will disappear. You can get off a nasty salvo of ton@Ho/ attacks this way. Try holding down the Main Weapon Fire button and tmail/ mash the Magazine Change button. It can be a waste of ammo (the .com/ remainder of your current magazine), but you can wait till you almost ___/ need a magazine change to get a nice double shot off. Or you could... &#53#3 >>>>>>>> I'll Wagon Your Master! - Call in good old Wagonmaster to refuel and restock you as usual, but you can take further advantage of WM than just the basics. When refueling you cannot shoot, but you can slidestep or accelerate out from under the heli. The good thing is WM sticks around till you're full, or you've kept him waiting long enough without contact from you. What you can do is slidestep out from under him, fire off a few attacks (I like to use the MM here, no thinking needed), then go back under for another recharge. You can do this for awhile and it's best to use it when low on fuel as that's what takes the longest to recharge (also, a Flame Thrower on empty). But that's not all you can do with the generous Wagonmaster. Using the above Magazine Reload Reload trick, you can send off volleys and volleys of Main Weapon attacks, then step back under WM, and repeat. DEVASTATING. Try it as certain infinite spawn points like on the Jaralaccses in Mission 6/16. &#35#3 >>>>>>>> Contact Fuses - Grenades, and the underestimated 77-REC, have contact-fuses. What this means is that they have proximity detection and will detonate if their shells get within range of a "active target". The interesting point of this is that there are some targets that this works on you might not expect it to and can make life easier (or harder). Helicopters for one. Just fire a 77-REC at it, and forget (good for enemy helicopters, ________ bad for Wagonmaster!). Anti-Tank Infantry for another. Those Mahgnit/ little guys are annoying. Just use these weapons to take them out ton@Ho/ without having to aim, or even see them (AT infantry can be somewhat tmail/ hard to spot). For some reason though, this weapon doesn't work on .com/ the level 7 and 17 infantry. I wonder why? Other oddities with this ___/ weapon deal with the "door switches" and other similar objects. In stage 7 this weapon will explode in proximity to these switches (in elevators too). Yet another fun bit in stage 7/17, if you're looking for the Quasar you can shoot this at the unopened case to see before hand if the Quasar is inside. If it is the container will spark up. One final weird factoid. For some reason this weapon detonates Mines you place. You can get fancy and fire out a 77-REC and then the Mines right after and have the Mines explode mid-air. Good fun. &# >>>>>>>> Feather Override - Override is an invaluable feature of Generation 2 and higher VTs, but it can drain your fuel to nothing if overused. One of the features of Override is that you can nullify battery over heating. The trick here is that after you fire a Rail Gun, or SlideStep, you tap Override on and then off. Immediate Battery Cooling recovery, very little fuel loss! :) &# >>>>>>>> I Am Steel. None May Pass. Perish - Only the Prominence M1 has a certain special function (even though the manual talks about lots of VTs having this potential, only the Prom does) called Armor + MM, a package deal. What it does is give the Prom +1000 Armor (rockin'), and a new Sub weapon (multi-homing-mini-missiles). First, the Armor. +1000 Armor makes this VT one ________ of the toughest in the game! Especially in Armageddon :) Only some Mahgnit/ of the best VTs in that difficulty out armor it! One particularly ton@Ho/ neat feature of this armor is that it can take any SINGLE hit and tmail/ your main armor won't be scratched. What that means is if the armor .com/ only has 100 hit points left it can still take a big 1000 damage AS- ___/ MIS hit and your main VT's armor will remain unharmed. The second awesome feature of this armor is that even if you take a hit and the armor's blown away, you STILL get the "Perfect Health" bonus at the end of the mission. If you use this armor you can often just decide to take-a-hit, get the job done, then still get all the bonus health points. This even leads to quicker finish times and allowance for more risky maneuvers and "sacrifices". The negative about this armor is that it doesn't replenish when Wagonmaster's chopper comes in :( and it's also a bit weighty (especially if you want a Rail Gun too). Now the MM sub weapon is another beauty of the P.R.F. It fires 12 little close range homing missiles (MM can be used 3 times total before needing a reload). Two ways to use this. The first is when there is a VT getting a little too close (within 1250 clicks). Each burst of MM ________ shoots out 12 missiles, 8 of which can home in on one target. Each Mahgnit/ is worth exactly 500 points of damage. 8 * 500 = 4000 = DOOM. The ton@Ho/ second is to use this in a situation where there are lots of little tmail/ targets to hit (Mission 12 is a absolutely perfect demonstration of .com/ this). This weapon will home in on these little vehicular enemies and ___/ smite them (doesn't home in on non-hostile Jeeps and Trucks, that's good, nor any type of infantry, that's half-bad). The missiles may say they only have a range of 1250, but they will still kill any tiny enemy in 2500 clicks (provided there're no obstacles in the way). Also, unlike the Armor these missiles can be replaced by Wagonmaster so don't eject that worn out Armor just yet (you'll lose the potential for an MM recharge). &#53#3 >>>>>>>> Pause For Break - Small trick, but useful. If you ever need to step away from your Xbox and are in the middle of a SB mission, remove the controller cord from the Xbox (then stick it right back in). The game will be paused and you can get back to it any time by pressing the START button. &#35#3 >>>>>>>> Time Out & Recycle - If you realize you cannot win a mission, retreat to a safe area and let time run out. You will still have to pay repair costs on your VT (and you've lost any Supply Choppers you used this mission), but you won't lose the VT itself. You cannot be relegated for repair costs so this is good for those desperate pilots who are on their last pennies, or don't want to pay for another Juggernaut. &#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#38amp#3 >>>>>>>> Save My Supplies! - If you're losing a mission that you can't escape from (or don't want to leave the game so time can run out) and that you already used lots of Supply Choppers on, just reset. You'll lose your VT ________ (perhaps it was inevitable? Or you had a lot of damage to pay for Mahgnit/ if you did wait for time out anyway?) but your Supply Choppers will ton@Ho/ still be there. You see... before you ever enter a Mission the game tmail/ forces a save to your Pilot file AS IF you lost already (this is to .com/ prevent cheaters). Then if you win it resaves the file with your new ___/ points and moves you a mission forward. However, this set up by Capcom doesn't take into consideration how many Supply Choppers you may have used during the mission (it can't really). This is good for the early game when 2 or more Supply Choppers cost more than a single VT. If you take into consideration repair costs too, this is often the best course when losing. &# >>>>>>>> Tank It Up - Small tricks with Tank mode. Rapiers are notably unstable, especially at full speed. You cannot tip over when a tank. Going ________ into Tank mode with a Rapier is just like driving a souped up race Mahgnit/ car :) Use the Stun Rod to give enemies the ol' hot foot! Even so, ton@Ho/ the Torches don't have that great of a hit detection down low. So tmail/ bring it to em! Use the Jump code to smack em in the face :) Other .com/ benefits of Tank Mode are that Anti-VT nets don't work on you and lots ___/ of enemy fire will fly overhead. The bad points are that firing can be a little weird on hilly (firing into the hill) or vegetated areas (blinding), no manipulator, and small bodies of water that are no trouble to full sized VTs drown tanks.... &# >>>>>>>> Teleporting Tank - Start a mission inside a VT transport or a ship? ________ Transform into a tank, then starting jumping. You'll pop out on Mahgnit/ top of the trans/ship. This is useful for shaving a few seconds off ton@Ho/ the start of a mission by getting out from behind those slow pokes tmail/ on your team or exiting a trans before the doors fully open. It's .com/ also fun as it's the only way to get up there :) Be careful though on ___/ the Transports. Even though you're on top of them, if they get destroyed they take you with them. &#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#3 >>>>>>>> Shut Up! Shut Up! Shut Up! - Sometimes certain people on the radio dial won't shut up so you can talk to them about something important; like more supplies from Wagonmaster or another rescue by Argus or a different command to your wingmen. In that case turn the radio dial just enough to tune them out, then tune them back in. One more tip for making Wagonmaster bring his wagon a bit faster, fuel takes the longest to resupply, but sometime you want to resupplies in order to completely fill your armor up. Call in WG, let him resupply your armor two bars, he might still be resupplying your other stuff, shoot him down, tune him out when he starts complaining, then tune him back in and ask for a resupply. You will get a slight penalty for this kill though. &ampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampamp#3 >>>>>>>> On The Clock - There are many cheat codes in this game that rely on how much time you've spent in the game. It may seem impossible to open some of these cheats but there's a way to trick the clock. If you leave the game sitting while on the pre-Mission screens (works in Free Mode!) the timer still counts, then you enter a Mission, then reset (or win or lose or whatever). Well, not much of a trick but do this a few times and you'll gain the time needed for anything. Another time waster is leaving the game in a Mission on PAUSE and then winning/losing (again, Free Mode if you want!). &#53#3 >>>>>>>> Talk To The Hand - I've just found out about this trick at SBC.PIPPIN.US . Supposedly you can block any projectile attack in the entire game with the manipulator arm. I'll have to look into this more as I can't seem to get it to work just yet. ______________________ / ___________________\__ m a h g n i t t o n @ h o t m a i l . c o m _/ / ___________________\__ ________________________________________ ____/ / \ __________________________________________ _______/ Glitches and Crashes \_____________________________________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What would a game be without the occasional glitch to find? Here are a few I've found: &ampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampamp#3 >>>>>>>> Rail Gun Crash/Freeze - Oddly, when you use the WEP ALL trick the game does not give you the option to use the P.R.F.'s Rail Gun (only equippable on the Prominence M1). Why, oh why? In some ways it is superior to the enemy's. Faster firing, and more ammo, but less fire power per shot and no EMP effect. Still, if it weren't for the awesome Lock On trick, this would be the superior version of the Rail-G, IMHO. I say 10 shots of 2000 is more ________ balanced than 8 of 2500. Sometimes 2500 is just too much per shot, Mahgnit/ it's wasteful. Being able to spread it out is better. ANYWAY... ton@Ho/ here's the crash glitch. When you complete or fail a Mission and tmail/ then start another it asks you if you want to use the same load out .com/ as before. If in the prior mission you used the ally Rail, then before ___/ this new mission you turned on the WEP ALL code, then enter this new mission with the PRIOR load out, what happens is that the game saves the ally Rail Gun as one of the weapons while in WEP ALL mode. Now you have ONE ally Rail Gun in WEP ALL mode. If you try to look at and change the Rail Gun the game will crash. Yay :) There are certain interesting qualities to this trick. First, it can ONLY be done with a Listed Pilot file, NOT Free Mode. This means certain tactics (like for time and point records) could theoretically only be possible in a Pilot File. Second, Free Mode counters with the ability to have UNLIMITED Supply Choppers, while a Pilot File can only use at most 99. Even if you wanted to, however, you'd never seriously be able to use all 99. &#53#3 >>>>>>>> Crashola Freeze In Mission 4/14 - I'm still not sure how to activate this totally, but it involves the MM missiles and using it at certain points in the stage. It's happened to me twice, at the same exact point (the right most path to the battleship), so it was not a random error. I'll have more data on this one day. &#35#3 >>>>>>>> Wall Stuck Via Tank - This happened to me twice in Mission 6. I would be running full speed and was then about to hit a wall. Hitting a wall at too fast a speed will knock you over, so to save myself I attempt to go into Tank Mode. Twice have I had this get me stuck. Both times I eventually got unstuck but it took a while to fiddle with slidestepping and trying to untransform to get out. &# >>>>>>>> Replay Record Error - This happened to one of my files but I was not able to repeat it. One of my first relay saves (Mission 6 again, I recorded it at the time because it was one of those newbie stumbling block stages and I wanted to see how I could improve). Later in the file I guess it failed to record some important piece of data because the file did NOT replay correctly. At a certain point I could see that it was missing something therefore all events afterward appear off. I'm bumping into walls, shooting at the air, not dying when I should've, etc. &#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#38#3 >>>>>>>> Timer Hi-Score Bug - Don't even know when or how this happened. If you check my scores at the bottom of this FAQ you will see for Mission 22 and 23 I have listed IMPOSSIBLE times. I have no clue what went on there O_O &ampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampampamp#3 >>>>>>>> Load Bar Bug - On my game, for every mission, the load bar before battle is always 98% full. It seems wrong to me. Does anyone else have that? Maybe the game is cache'ing SB mission on the Hard Drive since this is the game I play the most on the Xbox. __________________________ / _______________________\__ _/ / _______________________\__ ____________________________________ ____/ / \ ______________________________________ _______/ Bare Bones Mission Guide \_________________________________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

_______/  Specific Mission Tricks  \__________________________________________
       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few tips or tricks on each mission, I'm definitely forgetting a few things.
This section will assuredly see an update.
______________________________________________________________________________
****** MISSION 3 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
Use the 205-PT trick mentioned above to sail through this mission. There is a
point where you will see 3 VTs in your way near the end if you take the most
direct route, but with a little luck/skill you won't have to engage them at
all.
______________________________________________________________________________
****** Mission 12 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
Choppers getting you all hot and bothered? Use the Prom M1 (I love love love
this VT) and use the MM+Armor. Step out of the Transport. Move a bit to the
east. Wait till you see a bunch of white blips on your radar. Fire off one MM
barrage. Pop, pop, pop, pop, go the choppers. Wait till they come back.
Repeat. Wait. Repeat. That should be it (30 choppers). Mission done.
______________________________________________________________________________
****** MISSION 18 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
Real quicky mission. There are two ways to do this one. The obvious and the
not so obvious. Instead of entering the valley (as would seem obvious,
following the caravan), go past it and then up the cliffs. You will spot the
enemy VTs. Move foward and let them fire on you (if you kill 3, Argus will
call you, but that's not necessary). Now run away back to the valley mouth.
Mission over.
Small trick, if you get up the cliff you can use the Jump code to get over to
the other side. As far as I can tell there's nothing interesting over there.
Too bad :(
______________________________________________________________________________
****** MISSION 19 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
This is the most unique mission in the game. It's optional, a little CG movie
plays, you start out fully deployed (no start up), only time there will ever
be enemy VT transports to destroy, ANNNND... you cannot be Relegated here.
Yes, even if you blow up over and over and over, the game will give you a new
Blade VT when you run out of Light VTs to purchase. After the mission is done
you will be charged for these Blade VTs, but till then, enjoy.
About those enemy VT Transports. The enemy will send them out after you at
________   the 35 minute mark (5 minutes into the mission). You can meet up
Mahgnit/  with them by traveling east and getting up on the cliff. You can
ton@Ho/  destroy the Transports themselves here before they ever release
tmail/  their payload of 6 Maelstroms (they get released 2 minutes after
.com/  Argus calls, at 33 minutes)... which is a good idea, no? Those
___/  Maelstroms can release bunches and bunches of red menace MLR fire
     unless they go up in flames with their home.
______________________________________________________________________________
****** MISSION 22 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
On the final hill there are infinite spawning Regals. If you stand in a
certain spot they will no longer spawn. The reason for that is Regals don't
want you to see them Dressing. If you stand in the right spot you can keep an
eye on all their spawn points thus making no new spawns. The spot is at the
crossroads, right to the north (it's behind the Presidential Building), and
face north-east-east.
________   Rescue the personnel? Boring! How about we rescue one of them,
Mahgnit/  then kill the rest? That works just fine :) Use Contact Fuse
ton@Ho/  weaponry (77-Rec or Grenades) to kill them quick (use can use
tmail/  machine guns too, or most anything, but contact fuse tech is the most
.com/  painless on your part; and pain's what we want to avoid). Saves a lot
___/  of time and boredom at the cost of a small point penalty for killing
     them.
______________________________________________________________________________
****** MISSION 23 ******
______________________________________________________________________________
The final VT you face will be D³Eye, one really cheap trick to beating him is
to turn into a Tank (it's an unlockable cheat). He has a special attack, a
huge salvo of missile and shells, they will fly over your head if you are in
Tank mode :) Cheap trick. But if you don't want to try the Tank mode....
Another way is to try to get behind D³Eye. He will slowly turn to get to you,
however, if you keep slidestepping to his back he cannot ever aim at you. The
hardest part is to get there in the first place. If you get stuck on a pillar
or his body somewhere... *gulp* We'll just say it can get tense :) Just aim at
the back of his head and try to stay behind him (watch out for pillars and
walls and always try to keep aligned with the four true cardinal directions!
Use your Back/Front View Camera!). You'll eventually win.
_______/  Score Card Checklist  \_____________________________________________
       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your pilot's kill record does not keep track of everything. So the following
list is split into two: Permanent records and temporary records. Each with
what mission they can be found in, and the points they grant for a kill. One
point exception is in Mission 18. The Transport Trucks are worth 100 points
instead of just 10 that one time. I also list in which missions these targets
can be found (for Mission 0 I had to make some educated guesses since the game
doesn't record or score any kills you made there).

Now here's the stuff not recorded in your permanent records, only shown after
that specific mission. Note that in any mission that can call Wagonmaster you
can get "Misfire & Destruction on Allies" since you can smack him around, but
I only listed missions where it's natural to see small allies (think blue jets
or special officers).

For every 100 damage in battle, you lose 50 points. Even if you take ONE point
of damage (you fall over hard) you lose the Perfect Health Bonus :(

For every 10 seconds you have left on the clock you get 10 points. For
example, if you had 43 seconds left you'd get 40 points.

_______/  Rock The Challenge  \_______________________________________________
       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some here are very hard, but my goal is not so much hardness (or modeling
reality), these are more based on goals I think may be interesting or produce
weird results or train you in using weapons and tactics you would not normally
use.
>>>>>>>> No Kills - See how far you can get without killing anything. That
means your kill record will have no kills on it :) I almost managed the first
mission, but unfortunately got a Vitzh kill. The test is to see how much
damage you can do, but not kill enemies yourself (and don't step on anything
the gets points!) but to allow your teammates, OR OTHER ENEMIES, to get the
kills for you.
>>>>>>>> No Enemy VTs Unlocked - Almost like the above, except you're allowed
to kill smaller targets. The goal is to see as few enemy VTs on your
REINFORCEMENTS screen as possible.
>>>>>>>> Torch The Place - The only weapons allowed are the melee weapons,
205, 22b, Cutter, and Stunner. I think I'll allow the Manipulator too. Some
enemies just cannot be reached, like ships (without falling into the water).
In those cases I suppose you'll have to try something else. Still, for all
missions I believe this is possible.
>>>>>>>> Mine, Mine, Mine! Down, Down, Down! - Same as the above, only the
single weapon available is the Mine spewer. Heh.
>>>>>>>> Tickle VT Till Explo - Same as the above but you can only attack with
your manipulator arm. Yes. It DOES do miniscule damage. I have killed a VT via
tickle :)
>>>>>>>> My One And Only - You are only allowed to fight with the Decider you
start the game with. If it blows up you may NOT Eject. You may use Supply
Choppers (you'll need it!), but I'm undecided on the Time Out trick. A grander
challenge than this may be to use ONE Vitzh for the whole game (the first VT
enemy you can open). I expect you to fill out your Pilot Hall Of Fame with
dead pilots with interesting life records ^_^ Don't forget to give them cool
names.
