------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------[SUPER MARIO BROS. SPECIAL]-------------------------- ------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]------------------------------ ------------------------------[Sharp X1/NEC PC88]------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o Hudson Soft sure know how to ruin a good game. This game would've been good if they had scrolling and better "physics" as the jumping mechanism is atrocious. There is however an NES hack based on this game. I won't post the link to it but I can say that it is a precursor of Super Mario Bros 2 (Japan) and they had the nerve to stop that from coming to USA due to its difficulty. Between the X1 and the PC88, the X1 version has better graphics although Fireball Mario has a green and yellow color scheme that makes him look almost like his Luigi, his brother. It also has a little scrolling. The seconds move extra fast so you have a high chance of dying via time running out. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Super Mario Bros. Each level has their background settings. There is the Overworld (Day time), Underworld, Underwater, Overworld (Jungle), Overworld (Night), Overworld (Snow), Clouds and the Castle itself. Red Mushroom - makes you big Fire Flower - can shoot fireballs Star - Makes you invincible Green Mushroom - Extra life. Axe - dump Bowser in the abyss and complete the castle level. Hachisuke - 8,000 points. This is the Hudson bee. Hammer - The hammer from Donkey Kong. Clock - Adds 100 seconds to the timer. Wing - Lets Mario fly temporarily. Uses the swim motion. Lucky Star - Kills all on-screen enemies. o---------------------o ENEMIES o---------------------o American Name: Goomba Japanese Name: Kuribo Description: They are the second most common enemies in the Mario series, they try to walk into you. American Name: Green Koopa Troopa Japanese Name: Midori Nokonoko Description: They behave like the Goombas, they move into a straight line and try to walk into you or place themselves in inconvenient spots. American Name: Red Koopa Troopa Japanese Name: Akai Nokonoko Description: When they reach the edge of a platform they'll turn around and go in the opposite direction. American Name: Hammer Bros. Japanese Name: Hammer Bros. Description: They usually hang out where there is a set of bricks around so they can hop up and down a level while tossing Hammers. American Name: Buzzy Beetle Japanese Name: Met Description: They behave just like the Green Koopa Troopa except fireballs have no effect on them. The have a new trick where they walk on the ceiling and drop and spin at you when close. American Name: Spiny Japanese Name: Togezo Description: They spiky shells protect them from being stomped on. American Name: Cheep-Cheep Japanese Name: Chikkoi Pukupuku Description: Cheep-Cheeps in the water place themselves in bad spots but out of the water, they leap out of the water. American Name: Bullet Bill Japanese Name: Killer Description: They are fired out of special cannons. Stand next to the cannons and they will not fire. American Name: Blooper Japanese Name: Gesso Description: The Bloopers will swim towards you American Name: Green Koopa Paratroopa Japanese Name: Midori Patapata Description: Hops forward in a straight line. Turns into a Koopa Troopa when it is stomped. American Name: Red Koopa Paratroopa Japanese Name: Akai Patapata Description: All it does is fly up and down and sometimes sideways. You can use it for leverage to an otherwise hard-to-reach area. American Name: Lakitu Japanese Name: Jugem Description: They continually toss down Spiny Eggs at you. If you kill him, he will reappear after a few moments. American Name: Piranha Plant Japanese Name: Pakkun Flower Description: They come out of some pipes and munch on anyone who touch them. If you stand on or next to the pipe, they won't come out. The red ones however, still come out if you are not directly on the pipe. They also come from above pipes too. American Name: Podobo Japanese Name: Bubble Description: In the lava stages, they continually pop out of the lava to catch unfortunate jumpers. The Hammer can kill them. American Name: Spiny Egg Japanese Name: Paipo Description: Tossed by Lakitus, the red ones hatch when they hit the ground and turn into a Spiny. American Name: Fire Japanese Name: Sigebou Description: A new enemy that came from Donkey Kong. Moves its way towards Mario and is dangerous to jump on. Can be defeated with the Hammer. American Name: Barrel Japanese Name: Tarusar Description: A new enemy that came from Donkey Kong. Moves its way towards Mario and can be defeated with the Hammer or being bopped from below. It cannot be jumped on. American Name: Sidestepper Japanese Name: Chokichocki Description: New enemy from Mario Bros. It is the crab enemy that can be killed with a fireball or being bopped from below. It cannot be jumped on. American Name: Fighter Fly Japanese Name: Nakaji Description: New enemy from Mario Bros. It's the fly that liked to hop all over the place. It cannot be jumped on. American Name: Icicle Japanese Name: Tsurara Description: New enemy from Mario Bros. It's the ice enemy that slid across the floor and froze it once it melted. It can be defeated with fire but cannot be jumped on. In this game it falls from the ceiling and does not freeze the floor this time. o---------------------o SCORING o---------------------o You score points by killing all enemies. There is a sequence where if you land on a group of enemies, the points go from 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, and 1-ups for each enemy thereafter. Some enemies are worth more points. o---------------------o WALKTHROUGH o---------------------o *---------------------* World 1 *---------------------* 1-1: Run to the right and you have the option on jumping onto the Goomba or over it. Collision detection is horrible in the game so you are better off killing things with Fireballs if you have them. On the next screen. Let the Koopa Troopa duo pass through by jumping on the ? block and when they are offscreen, hit the ? block and get the Super Mushroom to become Super Mario. Jump onto the pipe and here is something I'll say once. It's better to dash-jump than do a regular jump because you get more velocity. Once over the pit, get past the two Koppa Troppas and proceed two screens. Don't bump the Koopa Troopas from below if you are in your Super form. You need the platforms to get the Fire Flower inside the left ? block. Also on this screen, to the right of the ? blocks. Stand under the 1st brick and jump up to reveal a hidden coin. Break the third brick to the right and then hit the second to make the 1-up Mushroom trickle to you. Don't bother trying to get the Fire Flower with the curve jump. It's easier to jump onto the bricks then jump back to the left to get it. On the next screen, let the fireball take out the Goombas. Leap over the pit and kill the Koopa Troopa to give you breathing room to jump over the next pipe. Get the starman in one of the bricks and use it to blow past enemies. To be honest, you don't even need it because the next pipe you come across will let you go in it annd there are tons of coins to collect. Stop just before you get into the pipe and jump up constantly to collect several more coins. If you still got the fireballs, use them to dispatch the Goombas and shortly to the right is a hidden coin block. Jump on it and jump up again and get another coin block that reveals the Hudson Bee worth 8000 points. From here proceed to the right and finish the level. 1-2: Here's a little screw-up that might get you killed via "time up" the first time you play. Instead of Mario running into the pipe himself to get to move on to the underworld. You will have to move Mario to the right yourself. That is so not cool. Once down, defeat the Goombas with fire or avoid them. Hit the left ? block if you need a power-up. Burn the Koopa Troopas or let them approach you so you can have space to get past them. A cool thing about the 1-up tricks in this game is that you can also do on the floor if the Koopa Troopas (and Buzzy Beetles) are close enough to a block. Time it right to constantly bounce on it. Proceed to the right and burn or avoid the Goombas and one of the blocks has a Fire Flower in it (you need Super Mario to break the block below it). Get the coins on top then drop down to the left and get a running start to hop onto the ? blocks. It is easier to get onto the ceiling and leap from there instead of using the down elevator. Once over the pit, drop into the pipe. Get the coins and hop over the pit. You can get extra coins by jumping between the upsidedown pipes. Go into the pipe on the right and you are back in the overworld. Get through the enemies here on route to the flagpole at the end. 1-3: There is lot of trees to hop through. This makes dash-jumping more of a must. The Red Koopa Troopa didn't give a good example in 1-2 but here you can see that they will turn back when they reach the edge instead of falling down at the end. Carefully jump onto the moving bar then jump safely to the right and be ready to take out the Goomba immediately. After you do some more treehoping, do not even think about using the Red Koopa Paratroopa for leverage. It won't work. Burn both of them and hop your way to solid ground. Ignore the coins above you if you don't really need them. Just make a break for the goal. 1-4: Carefully maneuver your way past the rotating firebars and carefully jump on and off the floating platform and get past a few more firebars. Use regular jump over the next two pits. Get past one more pit and it's off to face Bowser aka Koopa. If you got Fire Mario, roast him alive. He will disappear instead of showing the disguised enemy. Touch the axe to rescue the Toad. Without the Fire power, you are better off taking the hit and touching the axe to dump Bowser off into the abyss. If you are small at the start, you better say your prayers, eat your vitmans, oh wait... This is Mario not Hulk Hogan but the first part is true even though small Mario jumps better over him actually. *---------------------* World 2 *---------------------* 2-1: Get through the Goomba and the Koopa Troopas then go up the step blocks and jump forward onto the middle bricks. It's hard to jump on it from the previous screen because if you miss it you might end up dying by falling into the Koopa Troopa at the bottom. There is a powerup in the top left brick if you need it. Continue right and let the Goombas fall then hop over the pit. Do normal jumps over the pits and the lone ? block has another power up. Once on the next screen you need to wait for the Piranha Plants to enter the pipe or burn it. When you get to the top of the block stack. Make a big leap over the pit but watch out for the Koopa Troopas coming in. When you get to the next set of ? blocks. The 2nd brick allows you to go up the beanstalk to get lots of coins. When you are back down, continue your business but when you see a double pit, a Koopa Troopa will appear from nowhere and fall. Jump to the next screen and get past the two Goombas. At the very end is a trampoline that is super tough to make function. It has random velocity. Once you somehow get over the wall, you are home free. 2-2: Once again run into the pipe. This will take you underwater. The Bloopers are capable of touching you on the floor so duck when they are close then get away from them or roast them with fireballs which you already know work while underwater. All you really got to do is stay on the top of the level and swim to the end as you reach the end of the level which you can take either pipe. If you need a power-up, you can take the low road on the screen after the water pit with two coins in it. It leads to the underworld level with a powerup in one of the ? blocks. The mushroom you'll have to chase down. Once you've completed the underwater section, you can exit the level stage right. 2-3: The Cheep-Cheeps here are slow so you don't have to worry about not having enough time to avoid them. Carefully run and jump on the bridges. You will jump on a couple occasional palm trees. When you get to the three small bridges, use normal jumps to make it safely. You'll be on safe ground from hear on out. You can ignore the pipe and continue forward. You will only need to go down there if you are small Mario and even then you need to be warned of a few precautions: Do not try to jump into that space where the mushroom is to fall out. It's a hidden coin that will trap the mushroom inside and in turn it will trap you inside that area as you are too small to break out and you will die from time out. Kill the Goombas or get past them and enter the pipe. Oddly, the flagpole that ends the level is located underground. 2-4: Let the Podobos fall before doing normal jumps over the pits. Take the low road to make maneuvering this level easier if you are small Mario. Take the high road if you are bigger and want to keep the powerup. The firebar may catch you by surprise at the end of the stretch. Carefully dash onto the elevators as one goes up and the other goes down. Get past the firebar after the up elevator and make some careful jumps. Let the Piranha Plant go down then head off to face Bowser. Take him out and that ends level 2. *---------------------* World 3 *---------------------* 3-1: Here's something unusual. After you enter the pipe, you'll play underwater in the first act but it's only temporarily. Swim past the Bloopers and the Cheep Cheeps then enter the pipe below. You will come out on dry land and hop across the bridges and a scale. If you are small Mario, run into the small alcove and bop the ? blocks above. The last one has a Mushroom which you chase down but the ? block on the next screen knocks it back into you. Leap across the pit and get through the Koopa Paratroopas and at the dead end, jump up at the wall to reveal a hidden coin then another just to the left of it that is lower so you can get on the first coin you hit. Then get over the wall. After a few pipes, Goombas and Piranha Plants. One more leap over the pit ends the level. 3-2: Once the Koopa Troopas are out of the way you will notice two bricks and two ? blocks. The bricks contain a coin and a powerup so do the ? blocks. That means you can even have two Flowers on the screen. You know what, if you are Big Mario take a hit from the Koopa Troopa and instead of entering the pipe, jump in the gap above it and you will finish this level in no time flat. If you decide not to ake the shortcut, you will go through a series of jumps across various platforms and pits which I don't feel like describing so get small and end the level quickly. 3-3: Now that we are still small, you have another opportunity to end the level in short time. Let the Goombas fall to their death at the start. Hop onto the treetops and jump on then off the falling platform and onto the treetop below. Let the platform reach the bottom to get to the next treetop. Use your smallness to get into the pipe. There are a ton of coins that you can collect. The lone brick here contains a 1-up which you will have to chase down but all you got to is reach the pipe and the 1-up will trickle to you at the end. Enter the pipe at the end and use the falling platform to reach the scale. Let it come down some so you can reach the flagpole at the end. 3-4: Being small gave you two freebie levels. Now it's time for hell. Get past the firebars and then make a leap of faith to avoid getting killed by the one upon entering the next screen. Once you are past those two screens. You will see a ? block above that contains a Mushroom that you can use hidden coins to reach it but it is not worth the trouble chasing it down. You will have firebars and the mighty Barrels of Donkey Kong to contend with. There is a Hammer hidden in this level to take out the Barrels but to get rid of them for good, get the hidden coin in the gap where they fall from and they will be out of your hair. Use the hammer to take out the Podobos and get past Bowser and dump him into the abyss. *---------------------* World 4 *---------------------* 4-1: The Latiku appears in this level and drops Spinys as usual. Here's a little catch... Once you take him out, he won't be back. Get the Mushroom out of the ? block and then carefully make it to the bricks. There is a beanstalk in the top 2nd brick and a Fire Flower in the top 3rd block. There is even a multiple coin bonus in the top first block. Get up on top to collect the Fire Flower and kill the Latiku. DO NOT GO UP THE BEANSTALK!!!! It's a death trap in the end and will kill you by dropping you into the pit once you come down. The pipes will take you back to start and lead to you getting killed by timeout. At the end of the level, let the Koopa Troopa get by or kill it then make a dashing leap to reach the flagpole. There is a useless item in this level which kills all on-screen enemies but it's not really worth it unless you are wanna rid of Latiku early. It is located in a hidden block above the ? block that had the mushroom in it. This is the only level that has it. 4-2: Use a dashing leap over the pit and go down the pipe. The first part of the underworld is eerily similar to the SMB version of 4-2. Too bad there is no warp zone opportunity like the one which lead to World 6, 7, and 8 for SMB. The next screen after that spot I mentioned will introduce the Sidesteppers from Mario Bros. Get the star from the brick on the right side of the pipe and run through them and carefully jump on and off the down elevator. Get rid of the two Buzzy Beetles by jumping on one then kicking it into the other and take two careful jumps onto the down elevators and proceed with caution as a Goomba will try to land a cheap hit from appearing out of nowhere. Once past the Goombas, get a running start and you will clear the pipe in the middle and land near the other one and carefully jump on the blocks and hit the flagpole. 4-3: This series is full of several hard jumps as well as a couple bugs that'll get you killed if you don't know what to do. Jump across the mushroom tops and use the falling platform to reach the scale and make another tough jump. The ? on the very right has a power-up. You will reach a spot where Koopa Troopas will be walking back and forth on a stepping stone pattern of mushroom tops. The spot next is what I want to draw attention to. You will want to step on the scale on the left to make them break. There is a major bug that if you don't do it, a certain platform will not appear and you are dead. The NES hack won't have this bug. It might have been a memory issue. You will see a lone brick. It's hold a vine that leads to your death because of another bug that makes it impossible to get out of the room and you'll run out of time. Use the brick, however, to get leverage for your next jump. Use the step up mushrooms to reach the flagpole but watch out for barrels. You may have noticed the pipe below, that's more than likely the exit pipe from the death room had the other pipe worked. 4-4: This castle is a maze where you must take the correct path to move on. If you take the wrong path, there is a pipe that takes you back. The only enemies here are the Icicles. Take the high road twice then take the low road then the high road again and enter the pipe. You are now home free on route to Bowser. Along the way you will see bricks spelled out to say HUDSON. Get rid of Bowser after the Icicles fall and that concludes level 4. ---I'll finish up the other half of the game tomorrow. I'm off to bed G'night--- *---------------------* World 5 *---------------------* 5-1: Head to the right and wait for the Piranha Plant to subside or kill it with a fireball. Get rid of the Koopa Troopas or avoid them then hop over the pit. Hop onto the pipe then let the Goombas pass then hop to the right and when you come to a set of ? blocks. There is a powerup in the 2nd bottom block from the right. You will notice a set of blocks shaped like the Tetris S-Block. Jump on the very top of the stack and make a dashing big leap over the large gap. Kick the Koopa Troopa to the right and take out the enemies then leap up to avoid the shell coming back. The pipe leads to an underwater section with coins but it'll take you back to the beginning of the level so ignore. Go up the top blocks and make a big dashing jump over the large gap. Make careful leaps to the right and you will see Fighter Flies from Mario Bros. Let them fall before going to the right again. At the end of the road, let the last Fighter Fly to jump by and go up the single stack of blocks then make a dashing jump from the triple row and end the level. 5-2: At the start, beware of the Piranha Plant coming from the upside-down pipe as they don't stay in their pipe when in the vicinity of the pipe unlike the ones who are right-side up. Let it go back in its pipe before you run past it. Make three normal jumps over the small pits. Wait for the Bullet Bill to pass above then run on top of the lower brick level to avoid the Buzzy Beetle and Koopa Troopas. Then on the next screen, let the Shellcreeper fall into the water before jumping onto the pipe then off to the land to the right. Get ready for a series of blind jumps onto clouds. Once they you are back on land. You'll be on land after 3 jumps. Let the Goombas fall, then jump and stomp the Koopa Troopa and kick it away and on the next screen, get past to the Goomba and the Koopa Paratroopa. There is a brick that contains a power-up. Get close to the Hammer Brother and stomp on it when you have a chance or run under it when it jumps. It's random of what its action is. Once past it. You are home free after a set of more jumps. 5-3: This level consists of serval jumps along the treetops while Cheep Cheeps come up from the ground. Let the scale come down on the left just enough that you can clear the gap without hitting the Koopa Paratroopa. The ? block will have a powerup if you need it. On the next screen, hop over the gap and you'll see Bullet Bills who pose no threat to you. Use the cannon, to stand on then leap over the gap. Stand on the top treetop and leap off of it from there to end the level. 5-4: Head to the right and you will a huge firebar that moves fast. The bast way to avoid getting hit is to run towards it when it's in the 12:00 position and it will be in the 10:00 position upon leaping on the block then hop to the right quickly. Take the low road and get past the firebars. Get past the down and up elevators. In fact, stay on the up elevator and jump onto the ceiling. Then leap right from there. Jump over the firebar to the right. You won't be hit by the flames at the tip. Let the Podobos fall into the pit before you clear them. Get past Bowser and that's it for World 5. *---------------------* World 6 *---------------------* 6-1: Head right and jump onto the blocks. You can kill the Latiku here but if you make it to the next screen, it will be out of your hair for good. The last brick contains multiple coins. Go up the block stack and leap over the pit. Use the blocks to get on top of the wall. The brick on the top left has a powerup. It's easier to get if its a Fire Flower as you will have a hard time chasing down the mushroom. As you keep going right you will see lots of ? blocks. One has a powerup in it. The end is not to far from here. 6-2: You don't need much help on this level. You can use the Buzzy Beetles to get multiple 1-ups but they are almost invinsible compared to the black part of the background. Go down almost any pipe for any coins. You won't be penalized for it this time. You'll come out in a series of pipes. Head right and next to the upper pipe is hidden coins. Let the Piranha Plants go down and hop across them and jump over the barrels as fireballs do nothing to them. At the end, leap to the right to end the level. 6-3: Hop across the three treetops then use the rising/falling platform to get onto the fourth one. Carefully jump on the one going left and right. Jump across three more treetops and get on the platform moving left and right. Jump along the line of coins to land on the treetop and leap carefully across two more of the platforms that fall when you jump on them. Next on the scale and use it to land on the pipe. If you are small or Big Mario, it's not a good idea to go down the pipe. Fire Mario on the other hand can deal with the Koopa Troopas upon you exiting. Leap across the three descending platforms to another treetop and leap again to the right to hit the flagpole. 6-4: Get past the three firebars at the start then get past a fourth on the next screen. Leap over the pits and get past one more fire bar and leap over one pit. Get past a couple more firebars and on the next screen, let the icicles fall before proceeding. Let the barrel fall and get past the firebar then get the coins hidden between the pipes and watch out for the upsidedown Piranha Plant before running past. Bowser tosses Hammers this time around. Defeat Bowser to end World 6. *---------------------* World 7 *---------------------* 7-1: You will face a lot of Bullet Bills here. They travel from screen to screen with you so be sure to watch out for them as you go. By now you should have your Fire Flower from World 6 but if you don't wait, get underneath the block the Hammer Bros. are standing on and bop them from below or you can take the high bricks to avoid them altogether if they are on the ground. Go into the next pipe you see. It leads to an underground world that exits to a place where there are Barrels above and inside the brick to the right is a 1-up. Bop the Barrels from below to kill them then proceed to the next spot. The exit is one leap to the right. 7-2: This underwater level is a toughie without Fire Mario because the Bloopers and Cheep Cheeps will make things tough for you. My advice for this level is to always look ahead to plan your next move. You will eventually come to a high coral with oncoming Cheep Cheeps. Swim against the coral and carefully swim up and down to let them pass through. There are two underwater firebars to watch out for. Swim pass them and kill the bloopers and Cheep Cheeps if you got any firepower. The next screen, let the Cheep Cheeps swim past and then swim into the pipe. Jump across the clouds to the exit. The jumps are tough. 7-3: Take it slow on this level but not too slow. Just let the Cheep-Cheeps jump out of the water then fall in and only worry about careful jumps and the Koopa Troopas and Paratroopas. After the first Paratroopa make a dashing leap to clear the gap. Jump onto the next treetop and let the Paratroopa fall. Jump across the bridges but use a big one on the last to land on the treetop and get rid of the Paratroopa on the way. On the next screen, let the Sidesteppers go through or burn them as they fall. Jump onto the treetop and jump on the pipe and go down it. Get as many hidden coins as you like and exit the pipe. Run on the pipe and make a long jump to land onto the block. Roast the Paratroopas so they won't get in your way. From there, jump onto the flagpole. 7-4: Don't go down any random pipe. It's suicide. The best route is to go right then and when you see a pipe in the upper area. Use the hidden coins to reach it but don't go down the pipe. Use it as leverage to leap to the right and get onto the ceiling. Jump onto the next pipe you see and go down that one. Go back down the pipe you come out of. Run to the next pipe and go down it. Let the Podobos go down before crossing. Get ready to get past a giant firebar on the screen coming up. Don't worry though, part of the bar you can go through without taking a hit. Get past the next firebar and defeat the next Bowser and that is the last Toad to rescue. *---------------------* World 8 *---------------------* 8-1: Jump through the mushroom treetops as you get past the enemies. Use the descending platform to get to the next treetops. When you see a scale, get ready to get past the firebar which is out of its element here as you don't usually see it in a first level of a world. Once past it, get on the other side of the scale and jump to the next treetop. Go right and let the Sidesteppers fall to its death then get on the treetop it fell off of. Do a normal jump because there is a giant firebar next screen. Time your jump to avoid being hit by it to get to the next treetop. When you are on safe land, take care of the Fighter Fly by bopping them from below and also take care of the Koopa Paratroopas. There are a couple hidden coins that can mess up your jump especially within a group of enemies. Now here is a tricky part. If you go under the bricks you will have Sidesteppers to deal with on the next screen. If you go above the bricks then you don't have to worry about them. So that means go above the bricks. Let the Fighter Fly hop over you before proceeding and hop onto another mushroom treetop then hop across three more. Jump onto the descending platform then quickly jump onto the rising/falling platform as it is goes down then after three more hard jump you reach the flagpole. 8-2: Enter the pipe to play a small underwater section. Carefully swim past the Cheep Cheeps and Bloopers and the underwater will end shortly. Once you exit the pipe. Let the Fire and Barrels get close to the pipe you are on before jumping over them. Get past the Fighter Fly and Hammer Bros. as you go. The PC88 version will have Mario blend in with the background by X1 is OK. Jump over the Barrels and Fire when you get to the big stack of blocks then leap for the flagpole from the top of the stack. 8-3: Enter the pipe then hug the left wall to avoid being hit by the falling icicles. Get past the firebars and use the ? block to get on the next platform. Get past several more firebars and enter the pipe. Get past the Fighter Flies and go right to the next screen. Make careful jumps onto the cloudy platforms. The flip screen makes them real hard. Once on safe ground. Get past the Side- steepers and the Hammer Brother and make more hard jumps on blocks this time. Success will end the level on the next screen. 8-4: Get past the two big firebars with two careful jumps. Let the Podobos fall into the lava and just leap over the pit altogether. In fact, the rest of this section is a series of long jumps. Carefully jump to the right at the end after the Piranha Plant subsides and go down the pipe. Make a couple careful jumps but watch out for the Icicle at the end. Run past it quickly then enter the pipe. Run to the right and safely leap over the bottom firebar to make it safely to the next pipe. Carefully jump to the right to get sucked into the pipe as you hold right. Jump into the opening to the right and get past one more firebar and it's time to defeat Bowser one more time. He throws Hammers again and the Podobo will pop up every now and then. Defeat him like you've done 7 times before and the princess is saved. Congrats on beating this peace of crap game. The princess says: Thank you Mario! You cleared every world. You are the greatest player. The game goes to the credits which I'll give Hudson brownie points for doing so. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o Hudson Soft for making this game.
