This game came out in Japan during March of 2003 when the Gundam Seed TV Series was still airing in Japan. As such, the storyline of the game ends abrutly before the use of Freedom in the tv series. This was due to the fact that Freedom had yet to appear in the tv series, however the Freedom Gundam can be piloted in the game, but it is bascially a sprite change of the Strike Gundam as it possesses no new abilities (not even the Neutron Jammer Cancellor which would have given Freedom unlimited Phase Shift Armour). This FAQ will provide a stage by stage walkthrough, secrets, and additional information about the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [C] The Game Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed is bascially a sideways scroller/shooter game that follows the story line of the Gundam Seed TV series. In Game Mode, the player is able to pilot the Strike Gundam (with its various packs - Aile, Launcher, and Sword) and the Freedom Gundam against ZAFT forces through several Stages which follow the storyline of the Gundam Seed TV Series. Uniquely, in Game Mode there is a Stock Points system. The player gains Stock Points after each successful mission in Game Mode, and these Stock Points can later be used on the OS Customize Screen (i.e. the screen after each successful mission) to upgrade/enhance either their Gundam's Phase Shift Armour, Attack, or Defense. These Stock Points also enable additional Mobile Suits to be unlocked in Bonus Mode. Bonus Mode appears after completing the game once. This mode is split into two separate mini-games: Extra Game and Score Attack. In Extra Game, the player is able to pilot either the Duel, Buster, Blitz, or Aegis Gundam through a one level sideways scroller/shooter game against Earth Forces (with the Strike Gundam in Aile Mode being the Boss at the end of the level). The Gundams in this mode are unlocked after gaining a sufficient Stock Points in Game Mode (Note: It does not matter if you use the Stock Points in Game Mode or not, as long as you have gained sufficient points a new Gundam will be unlocked). In Score Attack, the player can pilot either Aile Strike, Launcher Strike, Sword Strike, Duel, Buster, Blitz, Aegis, or Freedom Gundam in a never-ending level (until of course, the Gundam you are piloting is destroyed) for practice and to gain as many points as possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [D] General Controls Button (X-Up) -> Move Up Button (X-Down) -> Move Down Button (X-Right) -> Move Forward Button (X-Left) -> Move Backwards Button (Y-Up) -> No Function Button (Y-Down) -> Lock On to closest Enemy Mobile Suit (will stay locked-on to Enemy Mobile Suit until Button (Y-Down) is pressed again or your Mobile Suit is hit by an Enemy) Button (Y-Right) -> No Function Button (Y-Left) -> Mobile Suit Support (Special Attack - Limit of 4 Uses per Stage) - In Game Mode, ArchAngel (in Space) or SkyGrasper (on Earth) fires its weapons damaging Boss Mobile Suits or completly destroying grunt Mobile Suits - In Bonus Mode, the Gundam that the player is piloting will perform its Special Attack Button (A) [Press] -> Shoot Beam Rifle Button (A) [Hold & Release] -> Charge and Shoot Beam Rifle Button (B) -> Slash with Beam Sabre or Anti-Ship Sword Button (A) + (B) -> Defend with Mobile Suit Shield Button (Start) -> Pauses Game ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- [E] Stage Walkthrough [for Game Mode] - Stage 1: Heliopolis Pilotable Mobile Suits: Strike, Launcher Strike (Cutscene), Sword Strike Opponents: GINN Mini-Boss: GINN Custom (Rusty) Boss: GINN Custom (Rusty) Special Appearance: CGUE (Rau) Cutscene: Aim and hit CGUE with Launcher Strike using Button (A) - Success: CGUE flees - Failure: CGUE aids in Boss Fight with Ginn Custom - Stage 2: Space Pilotable Mobile Suits: Aile Strike, Launcher Strike Opponents: GINN Mini-Boss: Duel (Yzak) x4, Buster (Dearka) Boss: Blitz (Nicol) Special Appearance: Aegis (Athrun), Buster (Dearka) x2 Cutscene: Aim and switch your Aile Pack with Launcher Pack by pressing Button (A) - Success: Fight Blitz with Launcher Strike - Failure: Fight Blitz with no Phase Shift Aile Strike - Stage 3: Space Pilotable Mobile Suits: Aile Strike Opponents: GINN Mini-Boss: Duel (Yzak) x5, Buster (Dearka) x2, Blitz (Nicol) Boss: Duel (Yzak) Special Appearance: Buster (Dearka) x4, Blitz (Nicol) x2 Cutscene: Fill up your Attack Bar by pressing Button (A) before Duel fills up his Attack Bar - Success: Duel sustains damage and flees before returning - Failure: Strike sustains damage - Stage 4: Earth's Atmosphere Pilotable Mobile Suits: Aile Strike Opponents: GINN Mini-Boss: Buster (Dearka), Duel (Yzak) x2 Boss: None Special Appearance: Buster (Dearka) x3 Cutscene: Aim and hit Duel with Beam Saber using Button (A) - Success: Duel is damaged and misses civilian shuttle - Failure: Duel destroys civilian shuttle - Stage 5: Desert Pilotable Mobile Suits: Launcher Strike (Cutscene), Aile Strike Opponents: BuCUE, ZuOOT, Helicopter Mini-Boss: LaGOWE (Andy) Boss: LaGOWE (Andy) Special Appearance: None Cutscene: Aim and hit incoming missiles using Button (A) - Success: Missiles are destroyed - Failure: Strike and ArchAngel is damaged - Stage 6: Underwater Pilotable Mobile Suits: Sword Strike Opponents: GOOhN Mini-Boss: ZnO Boss: ZnO Special Appearance: None Cutscene: Aim and hit incoming GOOhn with Button (A) - Success: GOOhn destroyed - Failure: Strike sustains damaged - Stage 7: Earth Pilotable Mobile Suits: Sword Strike Opponents: Dinn, GINN, Helicopter Mini-Boss: Aegis (Athrun) x3, Blitz (Nicol) x2 Boss: Aegis (Athrun) Special Appearance: Blitz (Nicol), Buster (Dearka) Cutscene: Fill up your Attack Bar by pressing Button (A) before Aegis fills up his Attack Bar - Success: Aegis destroyed - Failure: Strike sustains damaged - Stage 8: Alaska Pilotable Mobile Suits: Freedom Opponents: Dinn, GINN, Helicopter Mini-Boss: CGUE (Rau), Red GuAIZ x2, Blue GuAIZ x2 Boss: CGUE (Rau) with Red/Blue GuAIZ as support units Special Appearance: None Cutscene: None [GAME FINISHED] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- [F] Secrets - Stock Points When Stock Points are gained in Game Mode, they can be used to upgrade your Mobile Suit in the following areas: (1) Offensive System: - Attack Power - Energy Drain (2) Defensive System: - Boost Power - P.S.
