Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands (Wii) Heroic Challenges Guide Contents 1) Intro 2) Legal Mumbo-Jumbo 3) Heroic Challenges 4) Conclusion 1) INTRO ===== Please don't automatically skip this section, there's some important information here that'll come in very handy. Anyway - hi there! I'm Darth Marsden, and welcome to my guide for the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. If, like me, you suffer from a form of OCD which makes you unable to stop playing a game until you've finished it 100% with every single collectable thingamajig game developers absolutely positively have to hide in the most frustrating places imaginable, then you've come to the right place. While there are guides out there for The Forgotten Sands, they're all for the PS3/XBox360/PC version and not the Wii one. Which is frustrating, because they're completely different games. But fear not! I've gone through the Wii version, found everything and am now about to share my knowledge with you. You're welcome. For the record, I played through the PAL version of this game, and enjoyed it. For the most part. For the hidden items I mostly found them myself, but occasionally I discovered items on the GameFAQ forums. Weretigerf in particular was a huge help with some of the more tricky unlockables, and my thanks go to him for his help with them. I wrote this guide as I went through the game, pausing and updating the guide as I obtained each challenge. It got a bit tiring at times, but true artists always suffer. :p 2) LEGAL MUMBO-JUMBO ===== =====-===== I played the game, writing this guide as I went along, starting on the 31st of March, 2010. I continued do so intermittently, until I finished the entire game. I initially released the guide on the 13th July, 2010, with other versions coming later. I worked bloody hard on this, so don't nick it and pass it off as your own. Finally, I'm only submitting this to GameFAQs, despite receiving several requrests from other sites, so don't upload it to your website if you are not GameFAQs. In short... This file is copyright 2010 Chris 'Darth' Marsden. All trademarks and copyrights contained in this document are owned by their respective trademark and copyright holders. ...and that's it. That wasn't so hard, was it? 3) HEROIC CHALLENGES =====- ========== This guide is set up quite simply. I've listed every single challenge in the order it appears in the Heroic Challenge menu, along with the condition needed to obtain it. Finally, I've added a more in-depth explanation of how exactly to get the challenge. It's very straightforward, and you'll pick it up in no time. So! Onward! Green Retro Drink - Find and drink the Green potion This appears near the start of the game. After you kiss the first statue, have a look behind the waterfalls to find the green potion. Press Z to drink it, and you'll unlock the original Prince of Persia, as well as gain this challenge. You Broke It! - Break the King's nose in The Kingdom of Delusion map You get this automatically during normal gameplay, so don't worry about this one. Perfect - Beat the first Boss and never miss an input while playing the 3 finishing sequences At the first boss, you go through 3 quick-time events where you have to either press A or swing the Remote. Basically, go through all three of these QTEs without screwing up. This may take a few goes, so it's handy you have a save point right before the boss. Stay Down! - Stun the first boss in a minimal amount of time for each of the three phases of the fight This one's a little tricky. In each round, you need to attack the plants on the left (his right) hand of the boss, but you can only do it while they're open. To get the challenge, don't get hit by the hands attacks, deal as much damage to the plants as you can (you should be able to get a sword combo in time) and above all, don't die. Close Call - Move the stone pedestal on the bridge only a third of the way in The Antique Road of the Merchants map After you make your way across a destroyed bridge, you'll come across a pillar with a switch on top of it. If you look on the ground, you'll see that you're meant to drag this pillar along a Z-like path. To achieve the challenge, only drag it to the end of the first straight line before climbing up, pressing the switch, jumping off and rolling under the door. It'll make a lot more sense when you actually get there. Shadowy - Destroy the shielded guard and claim your first magical power You'll get this during normal gameplay. 12 Easy Steps - Use a maximum of 12 crystals and amplifiers in The Alley of the Nobles This challenge starts in the arge area with three pillars and lasts all the way to the next 'connect the dots' door you come to. Start by moving the first layer of the first pillar once. You can then wall run up and jump at the apex of the run to reach the next ledge above, skipping one along the way. Spin this level twice, then climb up to the next level. Spin the three levels around until they line up above you, then activate one of them and climb up to the top. The second pillar is easy to get down. When you hang down, only drop to the first crack, then move to the left. Below you is a green plate - activate it, then drop down to it. Drop down again and follow the path along. Keep playing through the game until you get to the area with the saws ('enough to build my own kingdom'). Avoid using the plates - you can make it around the room on the ledges. You should get the challenge after you open and walk through the door. Don't Feel Like It. - Skip the amplifier challenge in The Gate of the Chosen Ones When you start down the path with the Scarabs, you'll come across a room with a variety of wall plates. They start off blue, but change to a mix of colours. To get the challenge, you need to avoid changing the colours of the plates and just use them as-is. It may take a couple of goes, but you can activate one colour, grab onto it and then start running towards another colour plate, activating it as you run to it. As I say, it may take a bit of practice, but it's very much achievable. Moar! - Complete the main puzzle from The Gate of the Chosen Ones in 30 moves or more without resetting it This is actually quite easy. Just mess around and don't finish the puzzle for a bit. Short 'n' Sweet - Complete the main puzzle from The Gate of the Chosen Ones in 5 moves without resetting it If you stop and think about this, it's not too hard. But for the thinking impaired, here's a step-by-step guide to getting this. - The first move must be up, so select the bottom left plate. - The second move must be right, so select the upper left plate. - The third move must be down, so select the upper right plate. - The fourth move must be left, so select the lower right plate. - The fifth move must be up again, so select the last plate we moved, now the bottom most plate. You Got: Brain - Open the gate in The Gate of the Chosen Ones map You'll get this whenever you open the gate. If you've achieved the requirements to another challenge, you'll get that as well. Bugs! - Do not get hurt by any scarabs in The Menagerie of the Myths This is during the two 'pumpkin' sections, the chase sequence and the final section where the sluice is. Basically, you need to avoid letting any of the scarabs here touch you. If they do, you take damage and you've failed the challenge. Flush - Get rid of the scavenger scarabs in The Menagerie of the Myths You'll get this during normal gameplay. Squish - Step on the lone Scarab Once you've fluished the scarabs out with the water, retrace your steps back down to the floor which now has missing gaps in it. Return through the door you entered this room from and head up the stairs. The lone scarab is here. Walk over it a couple of times to make sure you've gotten it. Blue Retro Drink - Find and drink the Blue Potion When you get to the 2D section with the seesaw, the blue potion is on the bottom right side of the screen. Drink it to unlock the Sands of Time skin and complete this challenge. Nature Dodger - Never get hit by the evil vegetation in The Gardens of Endless Blossoming This isn't too hard, but if you're not careful it's easy to get hit by something. Take your time and if you ever do get hit, quit and reload your game to continue from the last fountain you passed. The area you'll most likely screw up the most is the third one with the tentacles, but if you watch them carefully, you'll see they strike one side, then then other. Move when it's clear. The other problem is wall-running when there are obstacles in your way - it can be difficult to judge when to actually jump away from the wall. Remember that the camera angle lies, and that you should jump earlier then you probably think you should. Lawnmower - Cut down the giant plant in The Garden of Endless Blossoming You'll get this during normal gameplay. Evil Meeting - Reach the Sorceress in The Path of the Pilgrim map You'll get this during normal gameplay. Fast 'n' Faster - Complete The Embrace of the Ancients puzzle in 5 moves without resetting it This can be a bit tricky, but if you think it through, it's not too hard. But for the thinking impared, here's a step-by-step guide. - First, move the top left switch clockwise. - Next, move the bottom left switch clockwise. - Move the top right switch anti-clockwise TWICE. - Move the bottom right switch anti-clockwise. Brain +1 - Open the main door of The Embrace of the Ancients map Again, you'll get this during normal gameplay. Swordless - Push/ throw 6 enemies into a pit in The Water Bearers map Actually not too tricky. Jump onto an enemy, then swing the nunchuck and move the control stick towards a pit to throw the enemy into the pit. Rinse and repeat. Make sure you throw every enemy that you can into a pit, and bear in mind that sometimes the enemy will land on a ledge and come back, so you may need to to make a few more throws then you think. Water - Bring back the water from The Water Bearers map You'll get this during normal gameplay. Red Retro Potion - Find and drink the Red potion This is in the 2D section in The Water Bearers. On the second screen, head to the switch in the bottom right. Head to the wall on the right of the switch and wallrun up it. You'll reveal an EXTREMELY well hidden secret area, inside of which is the Red potion. Drink it to unlock the Dark Prince skin and this challenge. Fire - Complete The Hearth Of The Sacred Fire map Again, you'll get this during normal gameplay. Eat My Dust - Complete the Scavenger Scarabs chase without being hurt once in The Fallen King map This is tricky. I'd say to take your time, but obviously it's a chase, so... Stay on the left side of the screen, as that's the one you'll be wall-running along the most. When you you see the first archer, freeze him and just run past him - you don't have time to stop and fight him. When swinging on the bars, make sure you press jump when you're not upside down. The toughest section, by far, is the last one, where you have to wall-run over three sections while an archer takes shots at you. To do this, run along the left wall, then freeze the archer before you've finished running. As soon as you finish running along the next wall on the right side, jump onto the archer and throw him into the red plants behind him. Then, quickly run along the left wall and open the final gate. This one is very frustrating, but it IS possible. Crystal - Find and touch the Red crystal Once you've beaten the Boss and obtained the ability to create magical spheres, return to the room with the red crystal in (you probably saw it in the initial flyby, but it's the room in between the second and third stages of the boss battle). I found that the easiest way to reach the crystal, which is on the opposite platform to the one you actually need to reach, is to return to the ground floor and make your way back up the saws. Follow the path to the first flagpole, then stop. Drop down and quickly press B to freeze in mid air, then jump onto the platform. From here, use a whirlwind and a wall-run to reach the crystal. Mushroom Saute - Defeat the Beast by burning him with sunlight You'll get this during normal gameplay. Brainiac - Complete the puzzle in The Forge of the Gods You'll get this during normal gameplay. You Knew It - Open the portal to The Challenge of Faith in a single move Inside The Forge of the Gods, activate the statue and you'll reveal two cranks. You need to turn the right crank one turn counter-clockwise to make the crystals turn yellow and open The Challenge of Faith. Enter the door to claim the challenge. Root of All - Defeat the Sorceress in the final battle You'll get this during normal gameplay. Rogue Prince - Skip all combat arenas in The Challenge of Faith There's two combat arenas. Here's how to skip the pair. - You can skip the first combat arena by simply using hooks and spheres to make your way around the right-hand side of the building which has the archer on a ledge. - The second combat arena is slightly trickier. It's the room with the locked door where you have to step on four pressure plates. In order to skip the combat, you need to avoid touching the floor after pressing all four plates. I found the best way to do this was to leave the second plate to last, and then once you've pressed it, hang off the ledge and jump away from it. Create a sphere, then, on the floor in front of the door, create a whirlwind. Jump onto the whirlwind, then get rid of it. As you're falling, create another sphere. You should be right in front of the door now, so go ahead and solve the puzzle. Once the door is open, jump through it. If you skipped both combat areas, you should get the challenge. Sky - Bring back the energy from The Challenge of Faith You'll get this during normal gameplay. Slippery - Complete The Challenge of Wisdom map without performing any wall runs This one is actually pretty hard. The key to not using any wall-runs is to create a whirlwind to reach the door switches, and for the chambers, create spirit hooks on the wall, jump to it, then jump away from the wall and create a sphere. Then create another hook on the wall slightly further to the left/right of the other one, and then jump to it. Then jump away from the wall again, create a sphere... you get the idea. This will take you a long time, and it's incredibly frustrating to get really far along and then have the game cock it up, but it IS doable. Boring, but doable. One final thing to note is that you will only be given the challenge once you return to the main Sanctuary area. So don't panic if you don't get it before then! Wet - Bring back the energy from The Challenge of Wisdom You'll get this during normal gameplay. Cannonball - Launch yourself using the giant cannonball This is in the very first room. On the right side of the wall, very low down, is a pipe located in the middle of the red plants. Head down the wall with your hooks and spheres, then jump over to the pipe and climb inside it. Right the way down the pipe you should see a sphere - run into it. You'll be launched you across the room in a very entertaining manner, given the achievement AND unlock the Sand Dagger. Swish. Hunter - Find the secret arena in The Challenge of Virtue and kill all the enemies At the end of this area, you encounter a room with magical spheres moving across the room. After you solve the plate and release the energy, these spheres will disappear. Now you need to drop down to the lower level. Use hooks and spheres to make it down, then head through the now open door to find a few experience chests, which you can claim once you've beaten all the enemies that will appear. You'll also be given the challenge. Underground - Complete The Challenge of Virtue map You'll get this during normal gameplay. No Safety Net - Complete The Challenge of Humility map without using any fountains This is the Purple challenge. Once you have all the Purple crystals lined up, enter the door and proceed through the level, without activating any fountains along the way. This is possibly one of the hardest challenges you will encounter. You are allowed to fall a couple of times, but make sure you don't run out of sands! To complete this challenge, you basically have to avoid going near the fountains. Here's how: - The first fountain is fairly easy to skip. You can walk along the top of the wall the fountain is up against, so do that. When you're above the fountain, jump over it and create a sphere. Then create a whirlwind on the rock in front of you, and jump to that. Drop from the whirlwind and continue. - The second fountain is simple in practice. You need to go beneath the platform with the fountain on. Normally you reach said platform with a sphere, so in order to reach the underside, you need to let yourself fall until the game tells you to activate a sphere, and only then create one. Hopefully you should be able to reach the beam, and from there continue through the level. - The third fountain is also tricky. You should reach it by using a whirlwind to jump to the platform. To avoid it, instead jump towards the pillars on the left. Use a sphere to reach it. If you stick to the pillars, you should avoid activating the fountain. From the second pillar, jump, then create a sphere, and from there jump towards the bars to - The fourth fountain is actually quite simple. Just jump onto the roof of the small pagoda that the fountain is contained in. Create a whirlwind on the next platform and jump onto that to skip this one. If you can finish the area from here, then you should be done! Congratulations! Bear in mind that you won't get the actual challenge until you return to the Chamber. Space Master - Complete The Challenge of Humility without falling This one is also hard, but not as bad as the previous one as you can use an incredibly useful technique I call the 'quit-load' technique. If you've read my Madagascar FAQ, you'll have come across this. Basically, any time you accidentally fall, immediately quit the game via the pause menu. Then, continue your game. You'll come back to the last fountain (wether you used it or not, grr), but you won't have fallen and can continue trying to achieve the challenge. Again, you'll only be given this once your back in the Sanctuary. Space and Beyond - Bring back the energy from The Challenge of Humility You'll get this during normal gameplay. Monolith - Find and reach the Monolith This is in The Challenge of Humility, and is located right under the statue you're headed for. Head around the back of the statue. You're supposed to climb up a large crack. Instead, head away from the crack to the edge, drop down and gradually make your way to the bottom of the rock surface. Right at the bottom, you'll need to create a sphere and jump to the black rectangle that's underneath the whole statue. This should get you the challenge AND the Wall Breaker sword. Well worth the effort. And, just to be extra helpful, the Monolith even moves out so you can create a whirlwind and climb back up to the statue. How kind of it. Achievement - You have unlocked a heroic feat You'll get this the second you move the Prince when playing through the game a second time. The challenge description even tells you this! You're Good - Complete The Stranded Castle level without dying This is the section you played at the beginning of the game. You should breeze through it without a second thought the second time round. Pathfinder - Use the hidden alternative path This is during The Stranded Castle, and you can get it either time you play through this section. Towards the end of the section, you'll come to an area where the middle of the platform is lower then the start or end (you can wall-run along the right wall here). Instead of headed down this path, look to thr right before the wall starts. You should be able to climb down this area. Follow this path along, and you'll get the challenge when you're done. Bronze Medal - Complete the first part of 2D This is actually fairly straightforward. If you've played the main game for w ahile, you should breeze through this. Silver Medal - Complete the second part of 2D See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Gold Medal - Complete the third part of 2D See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Bronze Medal - Complete the first part of The Dark Labyrinth Don't even think of trying to complete this until you have all three Life Orb upgrades. In this level, the Life Orbs represent your lamp oil, and it decreases over time. If it runs out, you'll be plunged into darkness, which is never pleasant. Silver Medal - Complete the second part of The Dark Labyrinth See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Gold Medal - Complete the third part of The Dark Labyrinth See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Bronze Medal - Complete the first part of The Tower of the Gods Your best best is to use either the dive attack (run up a wall and shake the remote) or, when a pit appears, to throw an enemy into it (jump onto an enemy and shake the nunchuck). Your worst enemies will be the shield bearers, so break their shields ASAP by either using the dive attack or the whirlwind attack (shake both the remote and the nunchuck). The dive attack destroys the shields in one shot, the whirlwind may take multiple goes. Good luck! Silver Medal - Complete the second part of The Tower of the Gods See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Gold Medal - Complete the third part of The Tower of the Gods See the Bronze Medal challenge for this map. Bronze Medal - Complete the first part of The Speed Run This is hard. Hard as hard can be. The only bright side is that, once you've passed a checkpoint, you restart from there if you die. And you will die. Oh yes. The first section is relatively straightforward. No advanced skills required, just a lot of patience. Remember that you can wall-run, and if you do screw up, you can use the magical sphere to give yourself a second chance. But don't rely on it. Silver Medal - Complete the second part of The Speed Run Absolute nightmare. I found this to be the hardest section of the entire game. You WILL need to use the sphere here, it's a critical part of the design. You should be able to make it through the majority of the section on your own, but the last, final wall-run (before the checkpoint!) is what continuously got me. The wall itself is white, which makes it nigh-on impossible to see your spirit hooks. However - and this is crucial - YOU CAN TAKE YOUR TIME HERE. The wall will only crumble if you run along it, so you can stay in your sphere while you place the next hook. Thank the gods. Gold Medal - Complete the third part of The Speed Run The third and final section is a piece of cake after the previous one. Just remember that you can place whirlwinds to gain height quickly and you should be fine. You'll notice that the shapes repeat themselves - Ubisoft getting lazy, methinks. Anyway, the third time is the last one. Rick - Roll 20 times in a row Find a flat wall, stand in front of it and roll into it. As soon as you get up, roll again. Repeat until you get both this and the following challenge. Headache - Do 20 rolls into a wall in a row See the previous challenge. Persian Hero - Finish the game once Speaks for itself. Noble of Persia - Finish the game 2 times Speaks for itself. Relentless Warrior - Defeat 100 enemies You'll automatically get this at some point throughout the game. Pop! - Make an arrow trap destroy a magical sphere This is easy to do once you gain the ability to create spheres. Just create one in the path of an arrow trap and wait. Sand Blast - Petrify 6 enemies with the magical sphere The trick here is to make sure you don't petrify enemies by pointing at them and pressing B. You need to jump while near an enemy and then press B to do this. Once you've done it to six DIFFERENT enemies, you should get the challenge. Fast - Complete the game in 13 hours Unless you're relatively slow, you should easily obtain this. Faster - Complete the game in 10 hours Not too difficult, but make sure you don't spend forever trying to get all the extras. Fastest - Complete the game in 7 hours Tricky. This is possible on the first run through the game, but I don't recommend it. Lightning Fast - Complete the game in 5 hours Run like the wind, baby. Skip every single challenge that you can, never stop for anything and DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. That is all. You Go Down? - Push or throw 10 enemies into a pit Easy. Any 10 throughout the game. If you're going for the Swordless challenge as well, you're halfway done. Trapped - Push or throw 10 enemies into traps Also surprisingly easy. Your Own Path - Chain 10 magical spheres and spirit hooks This is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Find a relatively tall wall and create a spirit hook on it. Run up and grab the spirit hook, then jump away from the wall and create a sphere. Wait a second, then place another spirit hook on the wall roughtly where you placed it. Once it's there, jump over to it. Then jump away and create another sphere, and repeat the whole process until you get the Challenge. Bubbly - Chain 10 runs on walls and magical spheres You'll need a long, clear corridor for this. Start wall-running along one side of the corridor, and jump off RIGHT AT THe END. Mid-jump, create a sphere. Now you need to angle yourself at about 45 degrees, so that when you jump out of the sphere and onto a wall, you start wall-running again. Once you reach the end of the wall-run, jump off and create another sphere. Repeat until you get the Challenge. It may take a while! Hooked - Chain 10 runs on walls and spirit hooks I haven't found a way to do this yet! Maybe by finding a really tall cliff, creating a hook, dropping down to it, then running up and creating a hook for you to catch before you fall to your death is the answer. Full of Wishes - Find all Life Orb extensions There's three of these, and you walk right past two of them on your main quest. 1) In The Souk of Izdahar, you walk right past it once you make your way past the first whirlwinds. Zahra will talk of having an idea on how to reach the palace at this point, so you REALLY shouldn't miss it. 2) On your return to The Souk if Izdahar, you'll eventually drop down a bunch of beams. In the next room, you'll run across a wall and land on a switch which moves a wall. The entrance to the upgrade room is behind that wall. Just wall-run over to it. 3) In The Souk of Idahar, right near the start you'll come across an area where you have to jump across a lot of poles. At the end of this, instead of heading down the corridor, climb down the ledge and land on one of the beams. It will start to crumble, so quickly jump towards the entrance to the upgrade room and use your magical sphere ability, then jump again to actually reach the area. The only tricky one. Still Alive - Find all Lifebar extensions These are tricky. There's three of them, and they're well hidden. 1) Above The Gate of the Chosen Ones. You'll have to wait until you return through the gate, having learned how to place spirit hooks and whirlwinds anywhere. To reach the entrance, you need to climb up the side of the gate. 2) On the wall directly behind the gate you open in The Embrace of the Ancients map. You'll need to return once you have the magical sphere in order to reach it. 3) This one is hard. In The Challenge of the Gods, you'll come to an area where you have to jump between pillars creating hooks and using spheres. Once you get to the end of this section, you'll end up on top of a platform with two shield bearers and a magical woman. Defeat them, then return to the outcropping. Head over to one side (it shouldn't matter which) and create a hook on the wall. You can't create one on the platform beneath where you're standing, so you'll have to create one on the cliff wall. Make sure it's in range, then jump to it. When you're there, drop down and create a sphere. Wait a second, then create another hook on the wall and jump to it, then drop down and create another sphere. Repeat until you reach the platform below, then just wall-run from the hook, fall off, create a sphere and jump onto the platform. The final health upgrade awaits you. Sword Master - Earn all Sword heroic skills If you get enough experience, you'll earn this. Gauntlet Master - Earn all Gauntlet heroic skills Again, collect enough experience... Power Master - Earn all Creation Power heroic skills You'll need to upgrade all your creation powers to obtain this. Note that you won't start upgrading your creation powers until you actually get them all, so don't be surprised if you can't get this and you haven't learned how to create magical spheres. Fully Equipped - Earn all heroic skills You'll get this when you max out on upgrades. Shield Breaker - Break 15 Minotaur Champion shields You should get this automatically. One tactic I found helpful was to start wall-running upwards, then shake the remote to 'dive-bomb' the enemy, which should break their shield in one shot. Golden - Find all Gold treasure chests There's about 25 of these, and they tend to appear later in the game. - Shortly after gaining the ability to place spirit hooks anbd whirlwinds anywhere, you'll come to a room where you'll turn a crank to open up a gate leading to a courtyard you've previously been in. After battling the two shield guards and the witch, look around the edge of the room. One of them has a ledge high up. Place a whirlwind by it, then use a spirit hook to reach the ledge and the gold chest. - In The Hearth of the Sacred Fire, once you've lit the third torch, run back and activate the wall plate. Once done, don't head for the door - instead, look at the opposite wall. You'll see a series of grooves you can climb along. You'll need to use spirit hooks to make your way between them, but the path ends in a small room with the gold chest. - When you reach the very top of the furnace and activate the fourth torch, look back at the furnace and you'll see two areas to the side of where you climbed up. Use a whirlwind, then a spirit hook to gain enough height, and round the back of the furnace is another gold chest. - During The Water Bearers, you'll come across a large open area with no roof and a giant pillar you need to climb around. When you get to this pillar, you SHOULD drop down to a ledge with a sawblade going across it. Don't. Instead, head straight up using spirit hooks to come across another gold chest. - In The Fallen King, after the second chase by scarabs, you'll end up hanging from a ledge. Move all the way to the left and climb up to the platform and you'll see a blue chest. Shash it, then roll under the wall behind it to find a small room with more chests, including the gold one. - After obtaining the magical sphere, you'll work your way back to the area where you first fought the boss creature. When you do, return to the now blocked entrance to that room. Create a whirlwind to the left of it and climb up the wall to reach a crack in the wall right above the blocked entrance. From there, wall-run to the right, then jump away from the wall, create a sphere, and jump over to the balcony where the gold chest is located. - From the last gold chest, jump over to the pillar using a sphere. You'll need to make your way to the next balcony along, using the pillars (and a wall-run) to do so. Another gold chest awaits you there. - From the last gold chest, return to the ground and head to the pillar opposite the last one you climbed on. Use a whirlwind to reach the lowest ledge, then make your way from pillar to pillar until you reach the last balcony with the final gold chest of this room. - After re-entering The Souk of Izdahar with the sphere ability, you'll come to a section where you need to swing over some poles. Just before that, on the very bottom, is a bunch of chests. Make your way down using the sphere and some spirit hooks to find them, where a gold chest is prominently displayed. - In the very first room in The Challenge of Faith, you'll need to climb over the edge of the wlkway and make your way down to the floor below. Use spirit hooks and your sphere to do so. At the bottom, several gold chests await you. - Further along in The Challenge of Faith, you'll come to an open area with four pillars, each with an archer on top. Once you get past them and reach the tower, climb over the railing on the right side and you'll see a crack in the wall. Move along it to reach a gold chest. - In The Challenge of Virtue, when you reach the giant 'connect the dots' plate at the end, solve it, then drop down to the floor below using hooks and spheres. On one side is a door. Enter it, and you'll have to fight a bunch of enemies. Once you so this, you can claim the next gold chest, as well as obtain another Heroic Challenge. - In The Challenge of Wisdom, in the very first room, take the path on the left. As you go down the stairs, head to the edge of the path on the left and drop over to hang from the edge. You should see a gold chest amonst a copule of red ones - drop down and grab it. As I was playing through the gmae a second time, I got the Challenge at this point. There are still plenty of gold chests to be found, so I'll list the rest. - Still in The Challenge of Wisdom, in the room where you need to climb across the pillars, make your way to the wall above the door you entered the room. There's a ledge with a gold chest. - Further on in The Challenge of Wisdom, after the second room where you move the door with a crank is a large room where you must use whirlwinds to get past blowgun traps. At the end of this room is a fountain on one prong of a cross. Hang down from the center of this cross and you'll see the familar sight of gold. Make your way down and a pair of gold chests await. - In The Challenge of Humility, you'll come across a dozen gold chests, each one on an individual piece of rock that's floating in a circle. It may be time-consuming to get each one, but if you're leveling up, this is the best place to do so! - Further along in The Challenge of Humility, you'll come across an area where you have to activate crystals to get floor sections to appear. There's actually two gold chests in this section, and they're both quite tricky to obtain. The one on the far left of where you start requires you to place a whirlwind on the spinning wooden spike trap, and the one on the right of where you start doesn't require anything except perfect timing. Good luck! Souls Streak - Collect 100 Djinn souls without dying Best obtained at the start of the game. If you die, pause and quit the game, and then reload to continue from your last fountain. You Only Die Once - Complete the game without dying This isn't actually hard at all. All you need to do is avoid running out of Sand Tanks. If you die without any, then you automatically fail the challenge, so if it looks like you might run out of health, pause the game and quit, then reload your game. This doesn't include running out of health when you DO have sand tanks, so don't worry about that! King of Persia - Complete all Heroic Challenges This should be your last one. If you get this, then you're all done! Kudos! This is Persia - Kick an enemy into a pit I don't know how to kick enemies. Any help? 4) CONCLUSION ========== Whew! Finished. Finally. That was a task and a half. There's just a few bits and pieces left, and then I'm done. Yay! Credits ------- I couldn't have credated the guide without the help of some fine people from the GameFAQ boards. - cripster1971 was a great help with one or two challenges, most notably '12 Easy Steps' and 'Pathfinder', though he also helped out with others. - Weretigerf was the biggest star, providing the solution to many challenges as well as the location of the Red Potion. Man, that was well hidden. For some reason he didn't want credit, though I'm simply too good a person to NOT give someone credit for something, so here we are. ...and anyone else I have forgotten to mention. Your efforts are much appreciated, and I didn't forget you on purpose. Honest. :) Revision History -------- ------- 0.616 - First version. I've gone through the entire game, and there's only a couple of blank entries. I should update the guide when I've figured out how to get them all. 'This Is Persia' is my main annoyance, but there's one or two others I need to confirm. Contact Information ------- ----------- If you find any mistakes with this guide, you want to help me improve it or you just plain want to send me praise, then the e-mail address to do so to is: darth marsden @ gmail . com (Remember to remove the spaces from that) The GMail spam filter works pretty well, so make sure you put something I'll notice in the Subject Bar. Something like 'Prince of Persia FAQ' or something. I do check the Spam section, so chances are I'll spot it. End of Line!
