What's New -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.05 (4/12/10): Made a small addition to the Bloomsday battle section, thanks to Pokemaster! Version 1.0 (12/1/08): The first, complete version of this FAQ. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 2. Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wario's first adventure on the Wii console is contained in this quirky title. As usual, Wario is looking for treasure, and there are plenty of treasures and coins to be had. The gimmick is shaking enemies and items to collect even more goodies. The typical Wario-style platformer action is present here in this 2D adventure, but there are plenty of puzzle elements in each stage as well. There is nothing painfully difficult here, though the replay value sits with collecting _everything_ that the game has to offer. Nonetheless, it really is a lot of fun, so I would certainly recommend checking it out! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= NOTE: For this game, you hold the Wii Remote sideways. Control Pad: Move Wario, move cursor on menu screens 1: Dash attack 2: Jump -: View current level's missions +: Pause game Shake Wii Remote: Earthshake punch, shake currently held enemy/item ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ========= Abilities ========= Earthshake Punch: Shake the Wii Remote when standing on the ground to pound the ground, stunning nearby enemies, raising certain platforms, causing items to hop, etc. Ground Pound: Jump, then press Down (if done from a higher start point, it gains strength as Wario falls, enabling him to break through metal blocks). Shake: You can grab a variety of items by walking next to them, as well as many enemies (after stunning them by jumping on them or performing an Earthshake Punch). If you shake the Wii Remote, you can "shake" whatever you are holding. Enemies tend to carry heads of garlic, which can be used to recover your health. Whereas, if you shake a coin bag, you will get a whole lot of coins! =============== Special Devices =============== Ball: When you find a ball, you can throw it at enemies to attack, or at switches to trigger them. It can also be used to break stone blocks that you can't normally reach by doing a dash attack. Be careful though, as the ball will bounce off the walls after you throw it! Cannon: When you enter one of these, you can tilt the Wii Remote in any direction (180 degrees) to aim the cannon. If you press the 2 button, the cannon will wind up for a shot; if you hold 2 and press the 1 button as well, the cannon will cancel the shot (in case you made an aiming error). Max Fastosity Dasherator: This device will shoot Wario out, allowing him to dash endlessly (at least until you crash into something). You can turn around, jump, and even slide while in this frenzied state. If you hold Down while sliding long enough, you will come to a full stop. You can only break through metal blocks by using this device to dash along. Mini-Barrel: This barrel has two differently-sized ends, allowing you to go from a normal size to Mini Wario, and vice versa. You can only enter the side corresponding to your current state. As Mini Wario, you can go through smaller passages that you would otherwise have no access to. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5. Walkthrough -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============== The Sweet Stuff =============== Aboard the Sweet Stuff ---------------------- Missions: Defeat the golden enemy Collect 10,000 coins Jump off a Bandinero's head This is where you actually begin your game. The entire level serves as a tutorial for the controls, and the various actions you can perform throughout the game (pay attention to the signs in the background if you have any trouble). Your job is to recover the Bottomless Coin Sack from the evil Shake King, as well as save Queen Merelda. Once you are done talking to Captain Syrup, you will be sent on your way after practicing your abilities on this ship. Begin by heading into the second area to the east. There, jump upward onto several thin ledges, then head east at the top to reach the third area. In this area, go down the pipe to enter the room below. You will meet your first enemy, a Bandinero, down there. There are three pipes in this room you can jump into, including the one you just went down. Go up the middle one and you will emerge in an enclosed area above, where you can claim your very first treasure, the "Merfle Syrup". Go back down the pipe and head east, and go up the last pipe. When you emerge, go east into the next area. Dash through the first cracked block, then dash and jump to break the second one before continuing onward. In the next area, you will find your first bags of treasure; you can shake them and coins will come flying out. Be quick to collect them before they disappear! In the following area, simply head east and crouch through the passage to reach the next section. You will find a ball in the next area; pick it up and throw it at the blue switch above to open the way forward. Take the ball with you and go east, then throw it at the second blue switch to make the blue blocks appear again. Jump onto the ledges they form to reach the treasure chest containing the "Six-Week-Old Curry". After you claim the treasure, go east into the next room. Jump across the two floating enemies to cross the room, then go into the following area. In there, do an earthshake punch to knock the box off the high ledge, so you can jump from it to reach the upper area. Continue onward until you reach a wall, then earthshake punch again to raise the ! column temporarily. There is another ! column in the ground ahead which you can earthshake punch while standing on it to rise up so you can reach the golden enemy on the west ledge. In the room to the east, ground pound through the cracked block below, then climb the ladder and jump/ground pound through the metal floor. In the room you land in, you will be introduced to a new device: the Max Fastosity Dasherator. Basically, you enter it from the top like a pipe, and it shoots you out at high speed, enabling you to break through metal walls and charge through enemies, among other things. While dashing, you can slow down by holding Down to slide. You can also change directions and jump while at high speed. Anyway, use this device and dash to the west, breaking through a ton of cracked blocks (be sure to jump to break the blocks above, revealing gold coins). Climb the ladder at the other end and enter the next room. Slide down the slope and break through the cracked blocks, then ground pound into the room below. When you land, go east and jump onto the slope, and you will slide to the west. Break through the small blocks and collect the "Fickle Compass" treasure from the chest, then crawl through the passage to exit. Jump up the ledges and continue to the west. In the next room, you will find an enemy already stunned; shake it to get a giant Garlic if you need to recover some health. In the room ahead, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to break through the metal blocks ahead. Turn around and jump to the upper ledge to break through the next round of blocks to the east, and repeat to continue westward. In the next room, you will find the Merfle Barrel, which is what you are looking for in each level. Shake it to free the Merfle inside, and then a timer will start to count down. Also, all of the red blocks in the level will vanish, but a lot of areas will now be blocked by blue blocks, preventing you from going back to those areas. You now have to rush back to the start of the level before the timer reaches zero; if you don't, you will be able to exit, but will NOT get to keep any treasures you found in the level! As for right now, free the Merfle and head into the west room. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to break through the metal block and enter the next room. Dash and jump to collect a bunch of coins if you want, otherwise keep running to the west through the next couple of areas and you will go right into the starting capsule and complete the level successfully! Keep in mind though, that not all escapes are going to be this simple! Room on the Sweet Stuff (Pirate Shop) ------------------------------------- When you come here for the first time, you will discover that Captain Syrup is running a shop aboard the ship. This is where you can buy maps which you use to access the rest of the game's worlds, as well as other items and Heart Vessels that increase your health meter by one heart. For now, simply buy Area Map #1 and exit the shop. After each world you complete by killing the boss, a Heart Vessel will be available for purchase. You will also need to buy the maps in order to access new worlds, so be sure to collect lots of coins from here on out! ================== Area 1: Ratl Ruins ================== 1-1: Stonecarving City ---------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00 Collect 25,000 coins Jump off 3 Bandineros' heads in a row Starting off, head east to the next area. Do an earthshake punch to raise the ! column in front of you, then jump onto the first ledge and earthshake punch again to knock the block off the high ledge above. Jump onto the block and then onto the upper ledge, and collect the first treasure, a "Stone Coin". From here, drop to the ledge below and continue eastward until you reach the third area. In the next room, jump your way up the ledges, shaking the coin bags along the way if you want. When you reach the top, go east to the next area. Out here again, head eastward until you spot a pipe covered by a cracked block. Ground pound through the block and go down the pipe. Dash through the blocks in the room below and collect the "Full-Body Goggles" from the treasure chest. Exit through the same pipe, then continue onward until you reach another pipe. Go down it to emerge in a new area. Go west and climb the ladder, then hit the checkpoint (the glowing blue box). You will see a gold structure to the west; dash into it three times to destroy the thin layers on the bottom. Jump onto it, then onto the upper ledge to find a giant coin bag to shake. Continue to the west and climb up another ladder, then stand atop the gray ! column and do an earthshake punch to make the column rise. Jump to the east ledge and dash into the treasure chest to receive the "Crystal Skull". Head to the west again and drop to the ground level, then go east to find a diamond (these are worth 10000 coins). After that, go west and shake the Merfle Barrel to free the Merfle inside. Go slightly east and crawl through the now-open western passage, and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash into the western area. In the next area, do not jump from the first ledge; simply dash and fall to the west so you can collect some coins. When you collect the gold coin, that's when you should jump. Jump over the next two gaps and charge through the metal block to reach the next section. At this point, simply continue charging to the west without doing anything, and you will collect some more coins and ultimately reach the entrance to escape this level! 1-2: Whoopsy Desert ------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:50:00 Collect 30,000 coins Destroy all bomb blocks From the start, head eastward to reach the following area. Over here, you will be introduced to bomb blocks; throw something at them or simply touch them and they will count down to zero, at which point they will explode. Go east and clear the bomb blocks holding up the metal block in such a fashion. Jump over the block and go east, and you will come across a small pyramid of sorts (the structure with stairs on both sides). If you earthshake punch near one, it will rise up, revealing a room inside of it, so keep that in mind! Clear the bomb blocks to the east and continue into the next area. Here, go east and use the cannon to shoot yourself upward. Use the second cannon to shoot in the northeast direction. When you land up there, jump to the western ledge and take the silver coin, then earthshake punch to reveal a Secret Map! From here, head east to get back outside. Earthshake punch at the pyramid structure ahead, and enter the room inside it. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash to the east, then quickly turn around and jump onto the pyramid structure itself. When you reach the top-left part of it, jump to the northwest ledge and slide to a stop (hold Down). Jump to the top ledge and open the treasure chest to find a "Cheese Pyramid". When you're done here, go east and climb the ladder, then destroy the bomb blocks to reach the next room. In there, go east and drop to the lower area, where you will find a cannon. Shoot yourself directly upward to a high ledge, then go east to find another treasure chest containing the "Liquid Giggles". Ground pound through the cracked blocks nearby and drop to the lower area once again, then head eastward to enter another room. Go down the hall to the following room, where you will find some cannons. Shoot your way from cannon to cannon to progress upward through here (if you are in the cannon on the west wall, shoot through the metal block in the east wall and you can find a diamond). When you reach the top of this room, blast through the metal block in the ceiling with the last cannon to reach the next area high above. Out here, go east and hit the checkpoint, then shake the Merfle Barrel to free another one. Once the timer starts, dash through the cracked blocks to the east and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash all the way westward (when you reach the blocks, jump to dash along the upper row, which will get you a bunch of gold coins). In the next area to the west, dash across the bomb blocks and jump over the gaps as you approach them, and continue into the following area. In this next area, do not jump from the first bomb block ledge. Once you break through the line of cracked blocks, turn around and jump to the ledge above them and immediately slide to a stop. Climb the ladder and dash to open the final treasure chest containing the "Ancient Digital Watch". From here, go west and jump across the next couple of bomb block ledges. Go down the pipe at the end, and you will emerge right in front of your way out of this level (if you are trying to complete the mission with a low time, you will have to replay this level, as you cannot do it on the first run if you are going for the third treasure). 1-3: Foulwater Falls -------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:45:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 30,000 coins Beat the stage without falling into the water Begin this level by going down the nearby pipe to reach the next area. There, dash through the cracked block and jump onto the first rope in the air (to swing from a rope, press/hold Left or Right to gain momentum, then jump when you are ready). Jump across the first water pool and head up the hill, then swing across the next gap before continuing into the eastern area. Here, swing from the first rope to a small ledge with a few blocks on it. Dash to destroy the two crates, then jump from the metal block to the east rope. Swing and jump to the northwest ledge, then swing to another ledge and go down the pipe. In this room, hop on the first enemy and drop to the lower area, then pick up the enemy and jump up the ledges with it. At the top, throw it at the cracked block in the ceiling to flood the room with water, then swim across to a treasure chest containing a "Recyclable Bottle" (you will need to replay this level if you want to clear the no water mission). Exit this room via the pipe, and swing across the ropes to reach the eastern area. Climb the ladder and go east into a new area. Here, go east and slide down the pole, then jump from the pole to reach the eastern ledge. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to run across the water and through the western metal block, and run up the slope to launch upward onto a high ledge. From here, head eastward until you reach the following area. There, swing with the rope across the spikes and climb the ladder, and break the nearby cracked blocks. Swing across the series of ropes to the east and above, and land on the high ledge. Jump and ground pound to the west through the metal block below, and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash to the east. Instead of going through the metal block right now, jump to the thin ledge above, then turn around and jump to the west. Go west across the small gap and when you reach the spikes, jump to the rope and swing across to reach a pipe, so go down it. Over here, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash to the west through the first row of crates. When you reach the other side, turn around and jump to to the upper ledge and repeat. At the top, slide under the low wall to clear the cracked blocks and reach a treasure chest holding the "Silver Armor". Crawl through the passage and go through the pipe to exit this area. Swing across the rope to the east and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator this time to go through the metal block and enter the next room to the east. In this next room, dash to the east through a series of metal blocks, then swing across the ropes above the spikes. Break the crates holding up the metal blocks so you can jump from them, then jump to break the cracked blocks above to cause a metal block to fall. Before you progress, stand between the signpost and the east wall, and do an earthshake punch to uncover a Secret Map! Now, swing from the rope to the west. Get past the flying enemy and ground pound through the cracked blocks, and ground pound downward so that you break through the metal/cracked blocks and reach the very bottom of the room. Dash through the cracked block and continue into the east room. There, break the crates holding up the metal block, then jump your way to the top of the room. Get behind the waterfall and ground pound through the cracked block in the floor. When you land, go east and swing across a series of ropes to cross some more spikes. At the end, jump on the Bandinero and throw it at the cracked block in the ceiling to flood the area below the ropes. Now, go east and dash to break ONLY ONE of the crates. Jump to the upper ledge and take the checkpoint, then shake the Merfle Barrel to free its Merfle. Once you do that, go east and crawl through the passage (jump while holding Down) to reach a Max Fastosity Dasherator. Dash your way to the west across the water and continue all the way straight into the next room. In there, jump over the spike pit and continue dashing westward. In the following room, jump over the first gap, then quickly slide to a stop and ground pound through the cracked block at the top of the structure you are on. Open the treasure chest below to receive the "The Key to My Heart" treasure (if you continue to the west instead of going down to get the treasure, you will find a diamond). After you get the treasure, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash to the west and go up the slope, then head west into the next area. Go across the water and continue all the way westward until you reach the following area. There, continue moving all the way to the west (if you are dashing, you only need to jump at the end to the rope). At the very end, go down the pipe and continue to escape this level! As a note, of course, you will need to replay this level to clear the time mission (skip stopping for the third treasure and continue jumping to the west, then drop to the lower area and dash westward, and you will be fine there). 1-4: Run-Down Pyramid --------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 36,000 coins Don't break any Unibuckets Beginning here, head east to the first main area of the level. There, hit the Unibucket block overhead to make a Unibucket appear on the rail. To use it, jump into it and press Down like a pipe, then tilt the Wii Remote to move in either direction. You can also jump while in this device to reach higher ledges. To jump out of the Unibucket, hold Up and press the 2 button. For now, go across the rail and jump out, then head east into the next room. Jump up the thin ledges until you reach the spiky enemy; at that point, earthshake punch to make a block fall onto the enemy. Jump from the block to continue up the ledges. At the top, climb the ladder and use the Unibucket to head west for more coin collecting. Otherwise, walk into the eastern area. In here, go down the red steps, then hit the red switch at the bottom to clear the steps. Jump onto the slope and slide to the east, clearing the block along the way. Go down the pipe and open the treasure chest in the room you emerge in to receive the "Manly Moai". Exit through the same pipe and hit the red switch so you can jump to the ledges above. Throw a Bandinero at the blue switch so you can reach the giant coin bag, then use the Unibucket to get across the two rails (jump to the upper rail), and continue to a ladder. Climb up it and go up the yellow steps, then hit the switch and slide down to break a couple of blocks and access another pipe. Go down the pipe and you will reach a room full of Unibucket tracks and coins. Hit the block and ride the Unibucket back and forth, jumping to the higher rails as you progress. In the northeast corner of the room, jump out of the Unibucket and open the chest to find "One Heavy Spear". Exit this room and hit the yellow switch, then head east on the yellow steps and enter the following room. In this area, go east and earthshake punch atop the ! column in the ground to raise it up. Repeat this on the next ledge to raise the column blocking your path, then go west and upward. Head back to the east and earthshake punch the column when you're standing on it, and it will rise up. Before you go east though, jump and ground pound directly west of it to break through the metal block below. Slide down the slope into a room where you will find a diamond! Now, crawl through the passage and hit the blue switch to go up the steps, then make your way back upward through this room, and continue into the northeast room. Out here, ground pound through the middle of the cracked blocks, then ground pound again to break through the metal block far below. Shake the giant coin bag before jumping upward and heading into the east room. There, use the Unibucket to make your way upward through here, by jumping from rail to rail carefully. In the eastern room and northwest area of this room, you will find giant coin bags as well. Make your way to the northeast corner of the Unibucket room, then jump out and go into the next room. In the next room, make your way to the northeast area by doing earthshake punches to get past the ! columns, and riding them upward when appropriate. When you reach the northeast corner, ground pound through the cracked blocks and you will reach a red switch below. Hit it and slide down the slope to the west, then ground pound through the blocks to reach the room below. Take the checkpoint here and shake the Merfle Barrel to free its occupant. Stand in the middle of the area, and immediately ground pound so you can build up momentum as you fall. If you did it right, in the next room you will crash through the metal block in the floor. From there, go west and use the cannon to shoot directly upward. When you land, open the treasure chest to find the "Moonstone". Now, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash straight through the next few areas safely (you can turn around and jump to collect some extra coins along the way, too). When you reach the dead end, go down and use the next Dasherator to continue westward. When you drop to the lower ledge, turn around and go east, then repeat once more to go west into the following room. Go across the blue blocks and jump when you reach the end of them to continue dashing into the next area. Then, simply continue dashing to reach the entrance and escape this level! Remember that if you want to clear all of the missions, you will still have to repeat the stage so you can collect extra coins as well. 1-S1: Disturbing Tomb --------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 3:00:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 36,000 coins Defeat the golden enemy Destroy all bomb blocks Eat 5 heads of garlic Starting off here, go east into the next room. There, go down the hill past the Bandineros (you can shake the Bandinderos to receive Garlic, just so you know) and you will encounter a mummy enemy (to kill these, do an earthshake punch, then dash attack). Get past it and continue eastward along the lower path into the following area. Outside, head east across a series of platforms while avoiding the spiky enemies. At the pyramid structure, earthshake punch to make it rise and go inside to a Max Fastosity Dasherator. Dash to the west, then turn around and jump onto the pyramid. Go across it and drop into the quicksand on the east side, and break a metal block to gain access to a diamond if you want. Then, jump up the ledges and go east into the next room. Go down the slope here and jump into the first cannon at the bottom. Instead of shooting directly upward, shoot towards the northwest and you will reach a second hidden cannon. Shoot to the east and you will reach a treasure chest containing the "Instant Tutanramen". Follow the coin path downward and use the first cannon to shoot upward now, then defeat the mummy and head eastward. Outside again, hit the red switch and hop across the red ledges. Avoid the scorpions (earthshake punch to flip them over so you can throw them), and continue east until you reach a blue switch above. Throw a scorpion at it to make the blue ledges appear, then jump up the ledges that appear to reach two coin bags. At the pyramid structure ahead, earthshake punch to reach the giant coin bag inside, then break the cracked blocks to the east of it. Drop into the quicksand below those blocks you just broke and you will sink into a hidden room. Down there, open the treasure chest to receive "Golden Tissues", then exit via the cannon. Earthshake punch to exit the pyramid room, and continue all the way east into the next room. In this room, ground pound through the blocks and drop to the lower area. Go east until you reach the mummy enemy on the blue ledge. Kill it, then throw a scorpion at the blue switch overhead to clear the blue blocks. Collect the gold coins and once again sink into the quicksand to enter another room. Avoid the scorpion and shoot upward with the cannon, and you will shoot upward through a metal block and land on a thin ledge. Open the nearby chest to receive the "Oasis in a Teapot". Now, drop to the lower area again, and head eastward through this room to reach the following one. Take the checkpoint and break the blocks, then drop down to reach the Merfle Barrel. Free the Merfle and the blocks below will disappear, so drop into the room below. Defeat the mummy and continue eastward into a room full of cannons. Shoot your way upward through this room by using each cannon (use the slopes as guidance on how to aim). When you reach the next room, shoot to the southwest through the metal and stone blocks, then use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash into the next room. In here, you will see an arch of coins which you can jump to collect. There are two paths to take in this room; both paths will require sliding under the low passages to clear the cracked blocks within, but the lower path will lead to the golden enemy. The upper path will be quicker for you if you are going for the time mission (just make sure to move back and forth on the ledges at the end, and jump at each coin arch). In the next room, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator above if you need it to continue westward, and jump onto the line of bomb blocks ahead. Jump over the gaps as you approach them, and you will reach a point where you need to slide to clear a low passage. At the other side, you can either continue along the bomb blocks (to get that mission done), or you can turn around and jump to the upper ledge. If you continue along the bomb blocks instead, be sure to go back and forth quickly on the safe platform at the end to make sure they are all destroyed (so you can complete the mission). If you take the upper path, drop into the eastern gap and shoot upward in that cannon. Then, shoot to the southeast into the moving cannon, and shoot directly westward along the line of coins. If you did this right, you will collect a LOT of coins, and make it straight through to the entrance without any interruption. Of course, if you take this route, you won't get all the bomb blocks cleared, so you will have to do this level more than once to clear all of its missions! 1-S2: Gurgle Gulch ------------------ Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:45:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 30,000 coins Don't take any large silver coins Defeat the golden enemy Beat the stage without using the checkpoint Don't touch any Scarracudas From the start, as usual, go east into the next area. There, climb the ladder and jump across the ledges to the far east. Hit the red switch to drain the water, then drop down and break the block to continue eastward. In the next room, swing across the ropes to the east and then to the northwest. Avoid the enemy on the ledge and continue upward by going from rope to rope. At the end, head eastward into the next room. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to go west, then drop down and head east across the water. Jump to the upper ledge by the yellow jumping enemy, then turn and jump to the west, breaking the metal block. Earthshake punch, then ground pound the golden enemy to kill it. If you want, throw an enemy at the blocks overhead to the east and grab the giant coin bag as it falls so you can salvage it. After that, go back to the west and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator again and dash your way eastward some more. When you reach the rope, slide under it and continue to the east until you reach the next pool of water. Slide under the low passage to hit the red switch, then get onto dry land and jump to the rope above. Swing to the west ledge and open the treasure chest to find some "Imperial Boxers". Now, swing to the east and enter the next area. In here, swing across the first rope and go down the east pipe. In that room, you will have to use the Max Fastosity Dasherator again to dash westward, sliding through the low passage and clearing the first crate. At the other side, turn and jump to the upper ledge and repeat. Make your way to the top of the area in such a back and forth movement (you will have to make use of the two northwest ledges with coins on it, too), then slide under the final low passage to reach a chest containing "Wario's Dustcloth". Ground pound through the blocks and go back down the pipe to exit. Next, swing back and forth on the first rope and jump to the next one (be sure to swing wide to collect all of the coins). At the top, go east and enter the next room. Swing across a few more ropes, but stay towards the middle of the rope instead of the end, so that you don't swing into the spikes below. At the far side, simply continue onward into the following room. In here, begin by going down the hill and killing the enemies there. Then, hit the red switch above the Max Fastosity Dasherator, and use it to start dashing eastward. This next part will require you to do everything correctly in one shot, so be prepared. Jump over the first enemy to the east, then slide under the second platform, clearing the blocks beneath it. Under the third ledge, jump twice to hit the yellow and blue switches as you pass under them. Run up the slope and just before you enter the next area, turn around and jump to hit the red switch. As soon as you are at the top of the slope again, jump to the west, which will now have a red platform. Jump from it to the next ledge, then jump and hit the yellow switch in the ceiling and run across the yellow platform. Slide under the low passage and dash through the metal block, then jump and hit the blue switch. Slide under the next low passage and quickly jump through the metal blocks at the other side, then dash through the treasure chest to receive "Something Important". If you messed up any of the above instructions, simply leave the area and return, and you can try it again. Once you're done here, head to the east and enter the next area. Swing across a couple of ropes to reach the east side, then swing to the northwest ledge. Get to the west and defeat the enemies, then ground pound through the blocks and ground pound again to shoot downward through the metal blocks into the room below. In this room, swing to the northeast ledge and use the cannon to shoot upward into the previous room. There again, the water will be drained, so drop down and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash eastward and launch upward from the slope to a high ledge. From there, go into the next room. Avoid the checkpoint if you want to clear that mission, then swim around below to reach the Merfle Barrel. Shake the Merfle out of it and hit the red switch as soon as the blocks around it vanish, and the room will start to drain. As you float your way downward, move around to avoid the spiked mines (you will see them coming if you look at the water just below the surface). At the bottom, go into the west room. Here, jump from rope to rope while avoiding the spikes to reach the high western ledge, then continue into the next room. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and hop across the dry ledges to cross the water quickly. At the third water pool, do a low hop to avoid the rope (unless you want the coin mission to be cleared), and slide through the blocks in the wall to reach the next area. Keep dashing all the way westward, jumping over the spikes as needed, and you will see a diamond above. Jump over the spikes and turn around, jumping to the east ledge. Turn around so you can grab the diamond before heading west again, then jump across a couple gaps while following the coin arches and head into the next area. In the next area, slide under the low passage across the water and continue all the way westward across the water and the next couple areas to reach the entrance and escape this level (of course, you will have to repeat this stage a couple times to get all the missions accomplished). Boss: Rollanratl Battle ----------------------- Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage Beat the enemy before time runs out Don't get knocked over by the earthquakes The first boss of the game is a giant robot called Rollanratl. It consists of a head (with switches on the sides, which are its weak points) and its two hands. For the first part of the battle, wait for it to shoot steam from its nose, then jump as the head comes down to avoid being stunned (if you do get stunned, shake the Wii Remote to snap out of it). At this time, dash into one of the blue panels on its head to cause damage. Do this twice and the battle plan will change. This time, torpedoes will fall from the ceiling, so avoid standing under them and you will be fine. When the two blue torpedoes get stuck in the ground, jump onto the taller one and dash jump to attack the boss. Immediately following your third attack, the boss will repeat its initial pattern (steam from its nose, head crashing down). Jump to avoid being stunned, then dash attack the head to damage it again. The battle plan will again change now; there will be a purple switch atop the boss's head, and the spiky hands will emerge. When the boss's head shoots steam, get out of the way to avoid being stunned of course. When the hands start rotating around the head, jump onto one of them and ride it above the boss, then ground pound its head to deal damage. The hands will shoot lasers below them, so try not to stand directly below if possible. Repeat this pattern a couple more times and the boss will be completely defeated! ==================== Area 2: Wiggly Wilds ==================== 2-1: Just Plains ---------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 42,000 coins When you start off, go into the next area, of course. Outside, head east and you will reach a new device; a pole that you can swing on by shaking the Wii Remote, then jump from to reach other areas. So, swing your way upward and head west to get some coins, then go east into the next area. Here, go east and swing upward with the poles, and continue into the following room. Jump to the pole and shimmy to the far east, and go down the pipe to reach a room full of LOTS of coins! Exit, then swing/jump upward to the top area, then jump over the spikes to the west. Land on the ledge and open the treasure chest to receive an "Empty Piggy Bank". From here, jump to the pole and jump over the spikes, and continue into the east area. Swing your way upward using the poles once more, then go east and hit the checkpoint before shaking the Merfle Barrel. Do so, and you will see a wide gap open up next to you. If you did NOT get the third treasure yet, do NOT jump into it (if you did get it already, ready the next paragraph for instructions for a timely escape and more coins). Jump over it and leap over the poles, then when you are just to the left of center, ground pound through the poles and break through the metal block to reach the room below. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and go west to exit this room. As soon as you emerge outside, jump from the ledge and land on the platform with the treasure chest. You will dash through it, collecting the "Stuffed Wildebeest". After you grab the treasure, drop to the lower area and continue going west. In the next area, jump when you need to, otherwise continue west until you escape this stage entirely. If you did however get the third treasure already, drop into the gap below the checkpoint. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash to the west and out of this room. Back outside, get to the edge of the platform and jump over the spikes and land on the far ledge. Go through the metal block to reach the next room. In here, you will see a pole in the middle of the room above you. If you didn't get the first treasure, you need to turn around and stop here (if you are going for the time mission, simply ignore this and continue west; you will not be able to clear the time mission by stopping here). Jump to the upper pole, then ground pound through the blocks below. By doing so, you will reach a treasure chest containing the "Baobab Wood Pacifier", as well as a giant coin bag nearby. Swing upward on the poles to reach the upper ledge, then go back into the eastern area. Shimmy across the low pole and swing to the upper ones, then jump across the spikes and head westward. Go through the next room, jumping over the gap you created to reach the treasure, and continue west. Outside again, follow the path and collect all of the coins, dash jumping from a slightly higher ledge to reach the ones in the air. When you reach the diamond, stun one of the enemies and place it underneath the diamond, then jump on it to reach the prize. Then, go west and dash through the blocks, and ground pound into the final room below, where you can escape. You will need to complete this stage a total of 2-3 times in order to complete all of its missions, just so you are aware. 2-2: Wavy Waters ---------------- Missions: Collect 35,000 coins Collect 10 silver coins in a row Don't break your Subwarine You will be in a horizontally-scrolling underwater stage here, plus you get to ride in a Subwarine! You can control it by using Left and Right to move forward/backward, tilt the Wii Remote to determine the direction you face, and the 1 button to fire torpedoes. When you kill an enemy, they will drop a coin which will float around in a bubble, so be sure to grab those quickly! It should also be noted that for getting the 10 silver coins in a row, the silver jellyfish enemies drop silver coins, so if you want that mission, be sure to kill 10 of them in a row ONLY first (which isn't too hard, they show up in groups in quick succession). Anyway, go along until you see a bunch of bombs moving in a circular motion. Shoot the red one to destroy the entire ring, then grab the diamond in the middle. Up ahead, the path will split for the first time. If you take the upper path, you will find another diamond (of course, take this path for the coin mission); take the lower path to a treasure chest (which you must shoot to open) containing the "Peach Sandals". Up ahead, defeat the submarine enemies as they yield gold coins, then shoot the red bomb in the ring up ahead to clear them. Shoot the treasure chest on the ground below where the ring was to get a "Turtleskin Hat". When you see the electric jellyfish, avoid their diagonal discharges and shoot them when they are not charging. At the next bomb ring, get into the middle of it in between bombs (there is no red one this time). The path will also split at this junction. If you take the lower path, you will find several gold coins, as well as submarine enemies that drop more gold (take this path for the coin mission). Taking the upper path will be more dangerous, but will get you to the treasure chest containing the "Mermaid Scale". At the end of the split, shoot one of the red bombs to clear the ring, then grab the diamond in the middle. Kill the submarine enemies ahead and you will soon reach the Merfle Barrel. It will get sucked behind the wall, and you will have to defeat a boss of sorts. The device will consist of a wall with a small compartment containing a switch that moves up and down. There is a door that opens and closes, blocking access to the switch on occasion. You need to repeatedly shoot at this switch when the door is open until you destroy the wall, but be careful of the enemies that will also appear. Once you do that, continue east to free the Merfle and escape this level! 2-3: Mt. Lava Lava ------------------ Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:35:00 Collect 36,000 coins Defeat the golden enemy Destroy all bomb blocks Begin this stage by heading east into the first main area. Here, you will see a bucket on stilts. To lower the buckets, you simply have to do an earthshake punch, so remember that. Do so to find a smaller coin bag, then when the bucket rises again, you can collect more coins and break the blocks above to recover a giant coin bag. After that, go east and up the ledges to reach the next area. There, earthshake punch to detonate the bomb blocks, causing the boulder to roll down the path. At the bottom, before you go upward, head east to find a giant coin bag. Then, jump up the ledges and go up the hill to the west. Trigger the bomb blocks, then let the boulder run you over so you can get through the metal blocks as well. When you emerge, go east to the next area. In here, you will see a few thin ledges ahead. Jump to the second one, but NOT the top one, and earthshake punch to trigger all the bomb blocks above. Once you see the boulder roll down the hill, jump upward and head west to reach the treasure chest containing "Bangin' Together Rocks". Now, go down the hill and swing from the rope to make it to the upper ledge, then drop down to the east. Go ahead until you reach the lava pit, then earthshake punch again to drop a stilt bucket from above. Earthshake punch again to lower it, then ride it as it rises upward again. Jump to the northwest ledge and walk under the golden enemy to make it fall. Earthshake punch to stun it, then shake it to get a ton of coins before killing it to clear that mission. Next, get across to the east side by earthshake punching and riding the stilt buckets. In the next area, earthshake punch to lower the first stilt bucket, then ride it as it goes upward. Jump to the bomb block ledge above, then jump your way upward quickly across a series of bomb blocks. From the safe ledge, jump across the next set of bomb block ledges, then dash jump to clear the blocks and jump into the alcove before the bomb blocks explode. If you did it right, go in and open the treasure chest to receive a "Combustible Top". From here, drop to the lower area and hit the blue switch to lower another stilt bucket into the lava. Earthshake punch to lower it, then ride it to the east to get past the spikes above. When it rises, jump to the next platform and continue to the following area. Get across this room entirely by using the stilt buckets. In the next room, take the checkpoint and free the Merfle by shaking the Merfle Barrel. Now, drop into the pit below to reach the next room. When you land, go left next to the metal block and earthshake punch to clear the bomb blocks. Now, QUICKLY dash your way to the west and break through the blocks, then dash jump to the rope before the boulder hits you. If you did it right, drop to the area below the rope and earthshake punch again to uncover a Secret Map! After that, go west and climb the ladder to reach a treasure chest containing the "Fantabulous Fan". If you already got the treasure and the secret map, you could have let the boulder roll over you before, then you could be launched upward to this same spot, allowing you to reach the coins above. From here, go west and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash through the metal block and into the western area. If you are NOT going for the time mission, slide as soon as you enter the area and stop moving, then ground pound off the ledge to go through a metal block below. If you are going for the time mission, simply keep dashing to the west until you reach the cannon, then shoot yourself upward and continue dashing to the west until you reach the entrance. If you're taking the slower path, as soon as you land, head west by dashing through the blocks and collecting the coins along the way. At the last column, break through one of the upper blocks so you can jump and grab BOTH diamonds! At the end of the room, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to reach the cannon room farther ahead, and use it to shoot yourself upward to the entrance room, where you can make your escape. 2-4: Savannah Valley -------------------- Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:40:00 Beat the stage without taking damage Collect 46,000 coins Defeat the golden enemy Break all stone blocks Begin the stage by going east into the following area. Once there, swing your way upward with the poles, then ground pound through the blocks and continue into the next area. In here, you will have to deal with a lot of poles to spin from above. There are plenty of coins to collect, plus as you spin, you can break through the blocks in the walls. Make your way all the way upward, jumping over spikes and through walls as necessary, until you reach the upper area where you will see a sign pointing eastward. It should be noted that in the northwest portion of this room, you will find the golden enemy that you can spin from a pole to kill for that mission. There are also a lot of stone blocks here, so be sure to break them all, as well as a giant coin bag in the southeast area. At the top area, spin and jump to collect the silver coins overhead, then head east to the next area. Out here, head east and you will see some Bandineros. Throw one at the bird carrying a stone so you don't get hit by
it, then continue to the Max Fastosity Dasherator. Use it to clear the metal
blocks to the west and east, so you can reach some silver coins. Then, wait
for the moving platform to come down, then use the Dasherator to run back and
forth on said platform as it moves upward. At its peak, jump to the western
ledge and break through the metal block to reach a treasure chest containing
the "Hypno-Specs".
From here, get to the eastern ledge and climb the ladder before heading east.
In the next room, shimmy across the pole, spin jumping over the mines as you
progress. When you reach the end, spin jump to the pole above and get onto
the northwest ledge. Watch out for the bird enemy as you go west, then shimmy
on the pole and spin jump over the mines to reach the west ledge. Shake the
giant coin bag there, then drop off the right ledge and ground pound straight
down so that you have the momentum to break the metal block below. In the
room you fall into, make your way through the low passages by crawling,
collecting the coins along the way. Before the second drop, hold Down and
Right as you fall so you land on a ledge where you can collect gold coins.
Fall again and head west, and you will see bombs dropping from holes in the
ceiling. While still holding Down, jump to the next ledge in between bomb
droppings, until you reach the far west. If you made it safely, you will
reach a treasure chest in the southwest area containing a "Solid-Gold
Shuttlecock". Once you have the treasure, crawl your way all the way to the
east while avoiding the bombs, and shoot yourself out of here via the cannon.
When you emerge, the water will be drained, so drop to the ground below and
go east to find a diamond!
Once you're done here, jump upward on the ledges and make your way east along
the pole again. When you reach the far east end, jump to the ledge and head
into the next room. In here, bounce from the first Bandinero's head to reach
the pole above. From there, swing and jump your way upward through the
blocks, eventually collecting the coins at the very top. Now, stop swinging,
then jump and ground pound straight down to go through a metal block. When
you land, you will find a treasure chest; open it to receive the "Diamond Ski
Mask".
Kill the bat by throwing another Bandinero at it, then swing on the nearby
pole to get to the upper area, and head east. In here, shimmy along the first
long pole, then swing and jump your way from pole to pole throughout this
room. There will be a lot of spikes, so be careful when jumping, and shimmy
under/over the spikes as necessary to avoid taking damage. When you reach the
upper area by the floating enemies, wait for the second enemy to stop its
electric attack before you attempt to get past. Jump to the moving pole and
jump to the east, spinning downward through all the blocks to reach the next
room. When you arrive, spin to reach the upper ledge, take the checkpoint,
and shake the Merfle Barrel to free the Merfle.
Drop to the southwest area and head to the next area. There, jump to the pole
and spin your way downward through the blocks. It is important that you leave
the bottom three blocks on the right side INTACT while you completely clear
the left side! To do this, simply move to the left as you spin downward. When
you reach the lower pole, stop spinning and jump onto the remaining blocks,
then ground pound downward on the other side, allowing you to go through the
metal block below. Collect the silver coins (this is how you will clear the
coin mission), then spin upward on the nearby pole and continue to the west
room.
In the next room, jump to the first pole and spin jump your way through all
of the blocks in the area. When you reach the top, jump to the west and spin
downward by dropping from the poles until you can go west some more. Do this
to clear the room, then head into the following area. This time, you will
have to deal with spikes and the electric enemies as well, so be careful as
you progress. You need to execute this perfectly as you head westward, since
if you get attacked, you will fall into the water and lose valuable time.
Once you make your way to the northwest area, get to the cannon and shoot
yourself upward to the next room. There, swing on the pole and jump over the
mines as they move downward, and use the other cannon to shoot yourself
upward some more. When you emerge, simply dash into the western area and you
will be able to make your escape! It is highly advised that if you are trying
to clear all of this leve's missions, that you concentrate on one each time
(as in, don't do the time mission when going for the coins or all of the
blocks).
2-S1: Sneak Peak
----------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 40,000 coins
Don't get crushed by any boulders
Defeat the golden enemy
Beat the stage without using the checkpoint
Hop off boulders 5 times in a row
From the start, head into the following area. In the first main section, head
east across the stilt bucket and ledge (throw the Bandinero at the block in
the northwest to knock a coin bag down). Kill the fire enemy and hit the bomb
blocks above to knock another coin bag down, then continue onward until you
reach the next area. In this area, go over the lava pit and you will have to
deal with boulders rolling down the path. You can however bounce on them by
jumping onto one as it rolls by and quickly jumping again. Follow the passage
going east, crouching and jumping over boulders as they approach, and you
will see a treasure chest above. Hop off a boulder to reach the ledge and
open the chest to receive an "Extra-Nutty Chestnut".
Next, head back west to exit the passage, and hop off a boulder to reach the
upper area. Climb the ladder and defeat the enemies, using a couple of them
to destroy the blocks above and knock the coin bags down to where you can
reach them. After that, go ahead into the next room. For this next part, you
will have to move quickly to collect everything, so head as far to the east
as you can, then earthshake punch to knock the block down, as well as ignite
the bomb blocks above.
Quickly jump over the east wall via the block (do NOT ground pound) and land
below. Collect the first gold coin and ground pound through the block, and
collect the next coin. Repeat this and you will see a bunch of blocks below;
dash through the one next to you and grab another gold coin. Finally, go east
and ground pound through the gap to break through a metal block below,
allowing you access to a diamond!
Now, climb the ladder and head into the east room. Make your way upward
through the next room by climbing the poles (there are a bunch of gold coins
you can get by jumping from the pole). Avoid the fire-shooting enemy on the
way up, then when you reach the top, go into the following area. There are a
couple more poles here, so climb/jump from them to reach the gold coin above.
As soon as you grab the gold coin, ground pound to get through the metal
blocks below. Once you land, start dashing to the east to avoid the giant
boulder behind you. Bounce off the enemies' heads as you stay along the top
of the pile of blocks and boxes. At the end, jump to a rope and swing to the
eastern ledge, where you will find a treasure chest containing "Saphfire".
Once you have the treasure, ground pound through the gap to the east to crush
the enemy below, then head back to the west for a moment. Jump over all of
the lava pits until you reach a wall in the far west. Earthshake punch there
to reveal a Secret Map! Now, head all the way east into the next room. Out
here, jump across a series of stilt buckets, but stay on the fourth one. As
it moves east, do an earthshake punch to lower it, so you can pass under the
high ledge. At the other side, jump to the safe platform and do another
earthshake punch to knock the scorpion off the ceiling. Throw it at the blue
switch to open the passage ahead of you, where you will find the golden
enemy. Make sure you jump on it, then shake it for a hefty bonus before
killing it!
From here, jump back out of the alcove and earthshake punch to lower the
stilt bucket so you can escape. Then, jump to the upper ledge and jump into
the pipe at the end. When you emerge, climb the ladder and jump over the
first lava pit, but wait for the boulder to pass before progressing. Jump
over it and go through the passage, clearing any other boulders that come
along. Climb onto the next ladder but wait for the boulders on the next
platform to come along. The pattern here is that a small boulder will roll,
followed by a larger one. Wait for the larger one to come, then head west and
jump over the smaller one. Before jumping to the upper ledge, wait in the
corner for the larger boulder to pass overhead, then jump up and continue
west to the ladder.
Now, for the third and final tier, it's the same pattern as before (it's a
great place to hop on the boulders five times in a row for that mission,
too). Get to the east and hit the checkpoint (or don't, if you need to clear
that mission), then shake the Merfle Barrel to free its Merfle. Follow the
path all the way west and over a lava pit, then head into the next area. Make
your way upward through this room, while being cautious of the fire enemies
that line the ledges. Behind one of them, you can dash through a block to
find a giant coin bag if you want it. At the top of the room, go west.
In this next part, go right against the metal block and earthshake punch to
clear the bomb blocks. Now, you need to be VERY quick to get through this
next part, dashing through blocks and crates. It will save time to dash jump
through the crates when possible. If you make it all the way west and out of
this passage before the boulder overhead does, you can reach a treasure chest
containing the "Stone Hockey Mask". After that, ground pound through the
block and go into the next area.
Head west through here, hopping from the boulders to reach the silver coins
overhead. Then, continue westward into the following area. Use the Max
Fastosity Dasherator in the next room and dash to the west. You can turn
around and jump from ledge to ledge overhead to collect a bunch of coins
(this will certainly help you in fulfilling the coin mission, too). At the
top, slide and dash to the west through some blocks, then continue west to
the end. Drop down into the pit to reach the entrance room, where you can
simply go ahead and escape this level!
2-S2: Lowdown Depths
--------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:55:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 42,000 coins
Don't use any Max Fastosity Dasherators
Defeat the golden enemy
Break all stone blocks
Before I begin this level, I will note that if you want to complete all of
the missions, you MUST replay this level numerous times. As in, you need the
Max Fastosity Dasherators to get all of the coins and the time mission, and
you don't need them to reach the golden enemy. As such, this level's
walkthrough will cover what needs to be done in each room, so you can decide
accordingly what you're looking to accomplish.
Anyway, begin by going into the next area. Hit the checkpoint and shake the
Merfle Barrel to free the Merfle and begin the timer. Slide down the slope
below and fall into the next room. When you land, there will be a Max
Fastosity Dasherator. Use it and dash into the next room. In here, you will
see a series of ledges with coins arched at the points where you should jump.
If you are going for the time/no Dasherator missions, simply jump up each
ledge and take the upper path into the next room. Otherwise, don't jump from
the first ledge; instead slide through the small blocks and continue along
the lower path (while dashing) to reach the treasure chest containing a
"Lion-Mane Wig".
From here, continue dashing to the east, then turn around and jump to the
upper ledge and head west, then go back to the east along the highest path
when you get there. Then, continue dashing into the following area. Outside,
you can jump from the raised parts of the path to reach the silver/gold coins
overhead (if you are NOT dashing, you can throw an enemy at the golden enemy
to kill it). In the next room, there will be a number of thin ledges on both
sides of the room. There will be some stone blocks you can break through to
reach lines of coins, as well as alcoves blocked by colored blocks.
If you want the coins here, go east through the first set of blocks and hit
the blue switch overhead, then jump to the first thin ledge to the west and
collect the coins. Jump your way from ledge to ledge while dashing, and go
through stone blocks to reach more coins. Once you pass the ledge where the
red wall is, go into the western alcove and hit the red switch, then go back
down a ledge and enter the now-open red alcove to hit the yellow switch. From
here, drop down a couple more ledges and enter the now-open yellow alcove on
the west side to reach the second treasure chest containing a "Moon Light".
When you're done in here, dash/jump your way to the top of the room and
continue eastward. For this next part, you will see a water pit below. If you
are dashing from the Dasherator still, you can jump to a rope above the water
which will lead you to some gold coins and another Max Fastosity Dasherator,
so use it (if you are not using them, simply take the lower path and avoid
the Scarracudas in the water). At the east side, use the next Max Fastosity
Dasherator and dash/jump back and forth to ascend the ledges. At the top, go
west. You will see a slight path split; if you are dashing from the
Dasherator, slide through the low alcove to reach some silver/gold coins,
then come back out and take the other route to break the stone blocks. Then,
continue westward into the next room.
In here, dash all the way to the west and slide through the stone blocks
(clearing that mission if you broke the others earlier in the level), and you
will reach some silver/gold coins. If you crash, use the Max Fastosity
Dasherator and head east, then jump your way up the series of small ledges.
From the second to last ledge, you can turn around and jump to an eastern
ledge where you will be able to reach more silver/gold coins (you can only
get there by using the Dasherator's speed). Otherwise, dash jump from the
last ledge to the west along the coin arch (it's a difficult jump, just so
you know) and continue westward into the next area.
For this next part, use the Dasherator to the west if you aren't already
running from the earlier one, and go back and forth on the moving platform as
it moves upward. Jump to the first western ledge and break through the metal
block to reach a diamond and some more coins. Then, continue dashing back and
forth on the moving platform until you reach the top of its track. At that
point, jump to the western ledge and repeat this process on the next moving
platform. Jump to the first eastern ledge there and break through the metal
block to reach the third treasure chest containing the "B.C. Bongo".
Dash back and forth on the moving platform until it reaches the top of its
short track, then jump to the west and head into the next room. There, dash
to the west, but when you reach the ledge, jump and hit the red switch in the
ceiling. Land on the ground below and dash into the east and west areas
(slide under the low alcoves) to reach even more silver/gold coins for the
coin mission. Finally, jump to the western ledge and continue all the way
west until you reach the start of the level and make your escape!
Boss: Hot Roderick Race
-----------------------
Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage
Beat the enemy before time runs out
Knock back every tire
This battle is quite unique in that for the entire thing, you are in constant
motion while trying to take out the boss. You ride in a bucket with wheels,
and a giant boxing glove fist on the front (use it to attack by pressing the
1 button). To move back and forth, you must tilt the Wii Remote from side to
side. Anyway, Hot Roderick will be ahead of you in his rocket car, and the
flames from his engine will keep you from getting too close. However, he will
lob wrenches in the air to attack you; punch them at the back of his car
three times to shut off his engine. At that point, quickly move in close and
punch repeatedly to cause damage.
For the next part of the battle, Hot Roderick's ride will gain stilts, and he
will now throw wheels at you to attack. Once again, punch them and they will
shoot back up at the boss's car at an angle. Make contact three times to
lower the stilts, allowing you to get in close and attack like before. Watch
out, since Hot Roderick may move offscreen to the west and come up behind you
at ground level before dashing across the screen (time your jump to avoid
getting hit).
Once you go through the cycle of punching his car directly to attack enough
times, the car will break apart. Stay along the left side of the screen and
punch all of the car parts away to avoid taking lots of damage. All that's
left is Hot Roderick himself, so move up and punch him one last time to
defeat him, winning this fight!
=====================
Area 3: Rocking Range
=====================
3-1: Wreck Train
----------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:55:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 50,000 coins
In this stage, the gimmick is that you are on a moving train, so if you stand
still, you will be slowly pushed to the west. This means you will have to
work against the wind in some respects. Anyway, head into the next area to
the east. Continue past the Bandinero and crawl through the passage, then
drop into the room below. Jump onto the geyser and ground pound to push it
back down briefly, allowing you to reach the treasure chest containing the
"Perfect Disguise". Crawl out to the east and hit the red switch on the
ceiling to open the way into the next room.
There, throw the ball at the red switch above, and continue east. Bounce
upward to the higher ledges (there is a giant coin bag on the west ledge if
you want it). Then, go east and ground pound the geyser, and enter the
following room. Here, take the ball in hand and wait for the flames above to
subside, then jump up the ledges to the top area. Go east and throw the ball
at the red switch so you can continue onward.
In the next room, drop to the lower area and you will see a device stuck in
the wall. Throw the ball at it three times to destroy it, then head through
the passage into the next room. In there, bounce your way eastward over and
under the flamethrowers when they stop briefly. You will reach a stretch of
several flames in a row, with blocks in between them. If you break the blocks
by bouncing into them, you can grab some gold coins, and access a pipe. Enter
the pipe and go east, and earthshake punch to knock the ball off its ledge.
Throw it so that it bounces off the slanted ceiling and hits the red switch
in the alcove above, then go east and open the treasure chest to receive the
"Hotter Sauce".
Exit this room via the pipe, and continue eastward while dodging the flames
until you reach the following area. There, go east along the thin ledges,
then dash jump to the next platform. Avoid the enemy on the ledge and use the
Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash westward. Drop to the lower area and break
through the metal block to the west, where you will find a diamond in the
next room! Go back to the previous room and use the Dasherator again to drop
to the lower level, but this time turn around and go east, sliding under the
flames to make it through. At the other side, open the third treasure chest
to find the "Diamond Lightbulb".
From here, hop up the ledges and head east into the next room. In there, wait
for the flames to stop before jumping onto the thin ledge. Hop onto the
geyser and ground pound it down, then take the ball and throw it at the
device in the wall. At this point, the geyser will shoot upward again, so you
will have to do this three times to destroy it. This will also cause the
train the stop moving, finally! Head into the next room and hit the
checkpoint, then shake the Merfle Barrel to free another Merfle.
Now, go east and shoot upward with the cannon to get on top of the train. Use
the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash onward to the next segment. There, head
west and jump over the small gap. Up ahead, jump with the coin arch to
collect a bunch of coins, including two giant gold ones in the air. Turn
around and dash through the block to collect some silver coins below as well.
Continue to the west, jumping with another line of coins, to reach the next
area. Run up the ramp and jump at the top to collect more coins in midair,
then turn around below to reach some gold coins underneath the ramp.
Dash to the west some more, then atop the second ramp, jump to collect more
gold coins. Quickly turn around when you land and jump over the small gap,
and break through the metal block to the east to reach the diamond. As soon
as you grab it, turn around and continue westward to the next area. Go up yet
another ramp and jump at its peak, then turn around and slide under the low
passage to the east to reach yet another diamond. Finally, go west to the
final area where you can make your escape!
3-2: Stonetooth Cave
--------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:55:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 50,000 coins
Don't touch any fossils
In this stage, begin by going into the next room. There, jump across the
conveyor and avoid the spiky enemy, then continue until you see a green block
below a green conveyor. Hit the block to cause the conveyor to start moving,
dropping a giant coin bag (grab it quickly!) and a block. Jump from the block
to the eastern ledge, then go into the next room (if you go west, you can
jump from the floating enemy to reach a ledge with another giant coin bag).
In the next room, climb down the ladder to the lower area and you will see a
fire block. Go east a little more and you will spot an enemy in flames; touch
it and you will catch on fire. Now, the trick here is that the flames will
engulf you as you crash into walls while you dash around, and after three
crashes, you will become a giant fireball for a few moments, allowing you to
go through the fire blocks! Dash back and forth to the west and get through
the fire block in such a fashion, then shake the giant coin bag and go down
the pipe. Hit the conveyor block to drop a bomb, which you can throw at the
metal block so you can obtain the diamond on the other side.
Exit the room and climb the ladder, then pick up the Bandinero and jump to
the second conveyor. There will be fossils coming towards you; you cannot
touch them if you want to clear that particular mission. Anyway, throw the
Bandinero at the block above to switch the direction of the conveyor, then
continue eastward into the next room. In here, jump up the ledges and red
conveyors until you reach the green conveyor. Jump onto it and throw the
Bandinero at the green block to stop the conveyor. Crawl under the spikes to
the west and open the treasure chest to find a "Fossilized Drumstick".
Crawl back through the passage and continue heading east to reach the next
room. There, make your way upward through this room until you reach the
northwest corner. Wait for the bat to swoop down, then jump on it and throw
it at the block above to switch the conveyor's direction. Drop to the lower
area and the ashes will be able to ignite into flames below. Touch the flames
and dash to the east so you can get through the fire block. Shake the giant
coin bag and go down the pipe. Hit the block to start moving the bomb along
the conveyor, but this time, there is water below. When the bomb is about to
fall, jump so you can grab it and quickly toss it to the western platform.
Then, aim and throw it at the metal block, and claim the "Gold-Handled
Bucket" from the treasure chest.
Exit this room and climb the ladder ahead of you, then make your way to the
top of the room once again. Once there, jump across the conveyors and head
into the eastern room. There, jump onto the conveyors and head east as the
columns rise in the air. When you reach the safe platform, turn around and
dash jump onto the previous column. As each column lowers, jump to the next
one, until you reach the high ledge to the west. There, you will find the
last treasure chest, containing the "Kissing Stapler".
From here, head back to the east and hit the checkpoint, and shake the Merfle
Barrel. Now, drop down to the east and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to
break through to the west. Continue dashing all the way west, then drop into
the pit at the end to reach the next room. When you land, this is when you
need to decide what missions you will complete. If you are going for the time
mission, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash all the way westward
through every remaining room (slide under the low wall in the next area, and
jump over the spiky enemy in the second to last area). If you are going for
the coin mission, do NOT use the Dasherator here!
Now, if you are going for the coin mission, head west. Get across all of the
conveyors until you reach the last of them. Then, drop to the area below and
shake the giant coin bag. Head east and swim through the water, jumping to
collect the gold coins overhead. At the other side, climb back upward and
continue west across the conveyors once more. This time, jump to the upper
west ledge and crawl through the passage at the top of the hill. In the next
room, take the diamond and continue west into the following room. Drop into
the water below and continue heading westward through the final two rooms and
you will be able to make your escape successfully!
3-3: Its-all Mine
-----------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:35:00
Collect 50,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Defeat 3 enemies at once with a ball
Begin the stage by going into the next area. There, head up the path until
you see the second enemy below. Earthshake punch to pop it out of its hole,
then throw it at the eastern wall below the high ledge. Hop from the enemy
onto the ledge and collect the diamond there. Then, take the lower path
through the blocks and earthshake punch twice to bounce the ball out from the
ledges below. Take it to the east and stand on the slightly lower platform
and throw the ball eastward at the blocks. Do this until you hit the red
switch, then drop downward to the room below.
When you land, simply follow the path onward to the following room. In there,
head east across a number of conveyors until you reach two Bandineros and
blocks to the left of the conveyor they are on. Ground pound through the
blocks and enter the pipe below. Down here, earthshake punch to raise the !
column and set off the bomb blocks, then quickly dash to the east. When you
reach the stacks of blocks, simply jump across them all to reach the upper
ledge. Open the treasure chest at the end to obtain "Pterodactyl Stew". Then,
exit the room the same way you came in.
Next, jump up the ledges to reach the upper area once more, and head eastward
to the next room. Here, head east until you see the ball below you.
Earthshake punch to get the ball out, then take the ball to the east and
throw it at an angle so that you hit the red switch above you (this is a good
location to kill 3 enemies at once with the ball; you will have to carry/drop
enemies onto the same ledge and then throw the ball so that it knocks the
first enemy into the others behind it). Then, ground pound into the pit to
reach the next room. With the momentum, you will break through the metal
block below so you can get the giant coin bag. After you're done here, jump
up the ledges and go into the next area.
In here, head east and jump up the ledges until you reach the enemy with a
spike on its head. Stun it with an earthshake punch, then throw it at the
west wall and hop from it to reach the upper ledge, where you will be able to
recover another diamond! Drop to the ground below and head east to the fire
enemy, and catch ablaze from it. Jump up two ledges and hit the wall so you
head eastward, then jump to the east until you reach the fire block. Go back
and forth until you are engulfed in flames, then get through the block to
reach a giant coin bag.
Get to the lower area once more and ignite yourself via the flame enemy. Jump
up two ledges and bounce off the west ledge, then jump to the eastern ledge.
Jump to crash into the eastern wall and turn around, then jump up the ledges
to the west until you reach the fire block. Hit the block to become engulfed,
then go through the block and enter the pipe. Hit the red switch to lower the
ball, then throw it at the block to the east, and crawl through to reach a
treasure chest containing "Gold Press-on Nails". Once you have it, exit the
room. Head back across the conveyors and climb the ladder, then go east.
In the next room, make your way upward through here until you reach the Max
Fastosity Dasherator. Use it and jump across the ledges to the east, breaking
through the metal block. Quickly turn around and jump across the upper ledges
to the west. Jump onto the bomb blocks and slide under the low wall quickly
while dashing from the boost. Once you crash into the wall, drop down and
open the treasure chest to receive a "Really Tempting Apple". Jump up the
ledges and go all the way east to reach a cannon; shoot yourself upward with
it to reach the next room.
Here, earthshake punch so that the ball comes down from above, then take it
to the west and throw it at the green block to start the conveyor. Hit the
checkpoint and shake the Merfle Barrel, then head westward. Ground pound
through the blocks and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash westward. For
this next part, jump along with the coin arches to collect a lot of gold
coins, but make sure to slide under the low passages to maintain your boost.
After the last wide jump, continue into the next room.
There, dash to the west until you can jump to the ledges above, at which
point you should turn around and jump to the upper ledge. Dash through the
first set of teeth to the east, where you will find the golden enemy (if you
are not worried about time, you can stop here and knock it off the ceiling,
then shake it for even more coins before killing it; you'll still be able to
clear the coin mission without doing this). Continue heading upward through
this room by zig-zagging and jumping, breaking into the alcoves in the walls
to obtain another diamond and more gold coins.
At the top of the room, continue dashing through a metal block and head into
the west room. Continue westward through the next few rooms until you reach
the cannon, then shoot yourself upward to the entrance and exit this level!
3-4: Glittertown
----------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:50:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 48,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Detonate 2 bombs simultaneously
Starting off, head east into the next area as usual. In this area, you will
see colored geysers going on and off in a pattern; the pattern will apply
later in the level. Anyway, head east and dash through the blocks, then climb
the ladder and head west across the blue geysers. Earthshake punch to stun
the armored enemy, then break through the blocks and shake the enemy to
remove its armor. Toss it away and shake the giant coin bag, then go east
across the white geysers and enter the next area.
In here, there will be invisible platforms that will only be exposed when the
lights shine on them. There is a giant coin bag above you can reach, and
coins along the main platforms. If you drop to the lower area where the
enemies are, go east until you reach the floating enemy. Jump on it and drop
down to a hidden area where you can find a treasure chest containing the
"Ancient Duck Soup Mix". Once you have it, make your way back upward and to
the east into the next room. You will see another element of this stage here:
a slot machine. Earthshake punch to stop it, and whatever is displayed will
be dispensed, so watch the pattern to know when to stop it! Get a bomb to
clear the metal block, then drop into the room below (you can stop the timer
on a bomb by shaking it; get a second bomb and detonate it near the first one
to clear that mission).
Here, take the gold coins inside the block structure and avoid the spiky
enemy, then go to the slot machine ahead. Get a bomb and carry it west,
tossing it under the low passage to clear the small block there, allowing you
access to a diamond. Get another bomb and clear the metal block, then get a
ball. Stand under the opening above and throw the ball at the slanted ceiling
to hit the red switch, allowing you access to the next area.
In this next area, you will have to deal with more colored geysers. There is
a pattern to these geysers, though: blue are short and turn on/off from right
to left, pink are short and turn on/off from left to right, and white are
tall and turn on/off all at onceleft to right. Climb the ladder and go west
across the geysers. Evade the armored enemy and climb down to reach a pipe;
enter the pipe to reach the room below. Climb the ladder in there and get a
bomb from the slot machine, then run to the west and tap the 1 button to toss
it through the opening before it explodes. It will clear the metal block in
the floor. Crouch and jump/crawl through to reach the treasure chest
containing an "Energy Drink".
Break through the block to the east and crawl out of here, then exit via the
pipe. Get across to the east side by running across the pink geysers, then
wait for the white geysers. Jump from them to the northeast ledge, and shake
the coin bag. Earthshake punch at this spot to uncover a Secret Map, too!
Then, head east and drop down the pit into the next room. In here, hit the
blue switch to drop an armored enemy down. Shake its armor off, then carry
the Bandinero to the east, bouncing across the floating enemies (hold the 2
button). At the other side, throw it at the red switch to drop the golden
enemy down. Shake it for more gold coins, then kill it before continuing
east.
Out here, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to run up the slope and reach the
upper area. Jump all the way upward along the invisible ledges to find a
giant coin bag. Come back down and go west and upward, and you will see a
block above one of the light sources. Jump upward from it to find a hidden
diamond high above, then go east and drop down to the checkpoint. Hit it,
then shake the Merfle Barrel to begin the timer. Head west and drop to the
lower ledge along the line of coins, then enter the previous room. Use the
slot machine to get a lot of gold coins (if you don't care about the time
mission, you can do this repeatedly to clear the coin mission). Otherwise,
use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to continue westward into the next room.
Dash across the blue geysers, then once you are on the platform at the other
side, keep going back and forth until the pink geysers go up (if you are
going for time, simply continue west and jump over the armored enemy to
proceed). Run across them and jump to the upper ledge, then go back and forth
until the white geysers appear. Quickly jump and run westward across them,
leaping from the last geyser to break through the metal block to the west.
Open the third treasure chest here to receive the "Pink Diamond". Now, drop
to the ledge below and go west through the new opening. Ground pound into the
pit so that you break through the metal block below, sending you down into
another new room.
Down there, break the blocks and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash
westward, collecting more coins along the way. Then, simply continue dashing
all the way to the west and you will make it to the entrance and escape with
no problems!
3-S1: Neon City
---------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:40:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 70,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Detonate 3 bombs simultaneously
Eat 5 heads of garlic
Start off by going into the eastern area. Here, there will be plenty of
invisible platforms, so make your way eastward across them when the lights
allow you to see them. There are moving platforms as well, and if you can get
onto the vertically-moving one, you can find a giant coin bag above.
Otherwise, go east into the next area. Hit the blue switch to make a ledge
appear in front of you, then stun the enemy that falls from above and jump to
the upper area. Throw the enemy at the western wall, then hop from it to the
next ledge where you can find a giant coin bag. Next, get a bomb from the
slot machine to clear the metal block (you can detonate three next to each
other by shaking them while getting more). Then, go into the east room.
Go east and up the ladder, and hit the red switch above to make steps and a
couple of ledges appear. Go west and crawl under the wall, then go up to find
a slot machine. There will be a snowflake option here; if you get it, you
will become encased on snow, and will roll across the screen like a snowball
if you slide down a slope (like the one to the west). First, get a ball and
throw it at the sparkling spot on the eastern ceiling to hit the red switch
again, then get a snowflake. Move onto the nearby slope and you will roll all
the way east and up the steeper slope, breaking through an ice block and
getting you to the first chest, containing "Play Money".
From here, jump to the ledges above and go into the east room. There will be
a series of geysers here that you need to jump across (to make it safely,
wait for the first set to be blue, then get across and each set will rise at
the right time). When you get to the third set, wait for the second set to go
down, then quickly jump to it and white geysers will rise. Ride them upward
and jump to the western ledge and defeat the armored enemy, then go into the
pipe. In here, hop across the floating enemies when the lowest one is
slightly above you, and you will be able to reach a high ledge with a giant
coin bag. Drop down to exit, then go back into the pipe. Wait for the enemies
to float all the way downward, then hop across to reach the treasure chest
containing a "Spyfruit".
Now, drop down and return to the area below, and wait for the white geysers
to rise again. Quickly jump onto them and then onto the next set of pink
geysers as they rise, and finally onto the blue ones. Hop across a couple
more smaller geysers high above, and you will reach the ledge where the
golden enemy is. Jump on it, then carry it downward and shake it for some
added coins, and kill it for the mission. After that, head into the next room
to the east.
In here, first go across and kill the two armored enemies completely. Then,
drop to the lower area and head west, and break a couple of blocks to reach a
slot machine. Get a bomb out of it, but shake the bomb to stop its timer. Go
east and jump up the red steps, then destroy the metal block with the bomb.
Shake the giant coin bag in the alcove, then earthshake punch in that spot to
reveal another Secret Map! Now, hit the red switch above and slide down to
the slot machine. Now, get the flame and ignite yourself. Run up the slope to
the east and crash into the first wall. When you turn around, jump to hit the
red ceiling switch, then jump across the next few ledges until you reach the
ladder. Crash again and turn around, jumping across a couple more east
ledges. Hit the fire block to fully become engulfed, then go through it to
reach a diamond.
Go to the slot machine yet again, but this time get a bomb. Clear the metal
block in the floor, then get the snowflake on the slot machine once more.
Move to the east and drop into the room below, then go onto the west slope
and you will roll all the way eastward along the blue blocks. At the end, you
will break through the ice break and grab the "Mirror Crystal Ball" out of
the final treasure chest. Then, head back west and hit the blue and red
switches, and go east along the red stairs.
At the top of the red stairs, shake the coin bag to the east, then hit the
blue switch and go west. Make your way to the top of the area, and head
eastward into the following room. Head across the blue geysers, then make
your way to the northwest along more of those invisible platforms. At the
top, hit the checkpoint and free the Merfle from its barrel. Go east to the
Max Fastosity Dasherator, and dash to the west, collecting the coins as you
fall. When you make it to the regular ledges below, turn around and go across
the geysers and break through the metal block to obtain a diamond. Quickly
turn and run back across the geysers, then go into the next area (still with
the dash boost of course).
In the next room, go down a ledge and turn around, jumping to hit the blue
ceiling switch when you come to it. Turn around again and go down the red
steps, then hit the red switch as you pass it. Run up the slope and continue
into the next room. Run all the way west until you drop to a lower ledge,
then quickly turn around and head eastward. Repeat this pattern while going
back and forth downward through this room, making sure to jump to collect the
coins along the way (if you are going for time, you can hit the colored
ceiling switches to drop down to lower levels more quickly). At the bottom,
continue dashing into the western area. Outside, dash up the slope, and
quickly enter the pipe at the peak of your air time (if you DON'T want the
coin mission, simply continue west).
In the room you appear in, there will be a slot machine with a single gold
coin option, with the rest being enemies. Stop it on the gold coin a couple
of times to complete the coin mission, then exit via the pipe. Drop down and
go west to the next area, where you will find the entrance and thus can make
your escape!
3-S2: Derailed Express
----------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:20:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 50,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Don't defeat any enemies
Jump off 5 Bandineros' heads in a row
Eat 5 heads of garlic
Just like the Wreck Train stage, you once again are on a moving train, and as
such have to deal with the wind pushing you to the west. This time around,
then wind current is stronger, so that may help or hinder you in some
respects. Anyway, begin by going ahead to the next area. Jump across a couple
of ledges (turn and dash jump with the wind to reach another ledge with a
coin bag on it). Then, climb down the ladder and continue inside to the east.
Avoid the flame-shooters as you get past, then jump from the second one to
reach the northwest ledge. Climb into the room above and enter the pipe.
In the room you appear in, there will be a Bandinero above, and three
switches. You need to move it to the west so it falls to your level, without
dropping it on the spikes. Wait for the Bandinero to start walking to the
west while on the red blocks, then hit the blue switch. Once it's on the
yellow blocks, hit the blue switch followed by the red switch. When the enemy
is on the next set of blue blocks, hit the yellow switch. When it comes down,
throw the Bandinero to the east to break the block, then crawl through to the
treasure chest containing a "Train Timetable" (if you are going for the no-
kill mission, you need to avoid this entire part).
Exit the pipe room and climb back down to the area below, and continue
eastward. Earthshake punch and shake the armored enemy to neutralize its
threat, then take the ball and throw it at an angle to bounce off the ceiling
and hit the northeast red switch. After that, go ahead to the next area.
There, go east and clear the armored enemy, then hit the yellow switch to
lower a block. Hit the switch again, then jump from the block onto the switch
itself. Jump to the next ledge and shake/kill the golden enemy for that
mission, then jump to the high ledge above. Get past the armored enemy and
drop down to the east side to find a giant coin bag. Continue dropping to the
bottom area once more, and continue east to the next segment.
In here, jump across the flame-shooters one at a time (there is a pattern to
it, if you pay attention), while collecting the gold coins overhead. At the
other side, jump to the upper ledge, then turn and jump/ground pound to break
the metal block below, allowing you to reach the diamond. Get out of the
passage and continue upward and to the east past more flames. Ground pound on
the geyser to lower it, then you will reach a bunch of crates ahead. Dash
through the entire first column, then break all but one in the second column.
Jump onto that block and break all but two in the next column, and finally
break only one block in the next column so you can reach the high ledge.
Crouch/jump through the passage and go down the pipe there.
In this room, take the ball and stand in the lower alcove below. Face the
east and throw the ball directly east, but as soon as you throw it, duck
down. It will hit the switch and bounce back, breaking the crate as well. Go
through the passage and open the treasure chest above to receive the "24K
Baseball Bat". Exit the room and drop to the lower area (if you want all of
the silver coins, break all of the crates and jump around at this point).
Then, go east to the next room.
Climb the ladder in here, stopping below each line of flames until they stop.
At the top, hit the blue switch to drop a block onto the geyser. Go east and
earthshake punch to stun the armored enemy, then shake off its armor. Take
the Bandinero that results and ground pound the nearby geyser, and drop down
below with it. Throw the enemy directly eastward at the block, then crawl
through to reach the treasure chest containing the "Overachieving Star". Jump
up the ledges and grab the gold coin to the northwest, then climb the ladder
to reach the area above.
Out here, dash to the east and get past the armored enemy, hitting the red
switch above it. Inside the enclosure, drop down into the room below. Drop
down past the flames as they stop briefly, then go west to the checkpoint and
the Merfle Barrel. Shake the Merfle free, then head back to the cannon
nearby. Wait for all three of the flames to stop, then shoot directly upward
to the previous room. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and go west to the
next area atop the train. Jump over the first small gap and run up the hill,
jumping with the coin arch.
This is the perfect area to jump on five enemies in a row; stop dashing from
the Dasherator and stun the three yellow Bandineros on the first hill, and
bring them down to where the first two were. Then, jump on each of them to
complete the mission. As soon as you land, turn around and jump over the gap,
and break through a metal block under the ramp to collect gold coins.
Next, continue ahead to the second ramp, but this time, do NOT jump (if you
are going for the time mission, do jump to the west atop the hill). As you
reach the top, start to turn around, so that you fall to the ground below
already turned. Slide through the low blocks and collect the diamond, then
quickly turn around and slide through again, and continue west. As you exit
this area, jump in the air so that when you emerge on the next screen, you
make it onto the top ledge and can continue dashing with the boost. Go west
across the yellow blocks and jump from the end of them to the upper west
ledge and continue to the next area.
Jump over the small gap and run up the hill, but wait until you are at the
very end of the hill before jumping. That way you collect all the coins, but
will still be airborne entering the next area, where you will be able to land
on a small ledge and collect another diamond! Then, simply continue dashing
to the west and you will make it to the entrance, escaping this level safely!
Boss: Chortlebot Challenge
--------------------------
Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage
Beat the enemy before time runs out
Damage Chortlebot twice in a row
This fight puts you up against a giant robotic clown head floating in the air
above. There will be poles on both sides of the room that you can use to spin
and jump your way to the boss. The boss's weak point is the hat atop its
head, and later the green switch that appears when it is stunned. For the
first part, Chortlebot will move back and forth, periodically extended his
spiky nose to attack. Avoid it, and spin jump to hit the top of the head.
When the boss crashes to the ground, spin jump and bounce off the green spot
on its head to cause lots of damage. After it recovers from such an attack,
the boss will shoot spiky orbs in each direction, so stay on the ground to
avoid them.
For the next phase, the boss will have spiky pads rotating around its head,
so spin jump to attack the head while avoiding those. Hit its head enough
times to reveal the green switch, then spin jump to hit it and cause damage.
Later in the battle, Chortlebot will extend its two fiery arms, which will
then rotate around the head. You will need to spin and jump around with the
rotation to avoid getting hit by it. There may also be light beams moving to
the sides from below to further damage you as you spin on the poles, so watch
out. Repeat the same process as before to attack the boss, and you will soon
win!
=====================
Area 4: Jiggle Jungle
=====================
4-1: Ropey Jungle
-----------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:45:00
Collect 50,000 coins
Don't defeat any enemies
Begin by going east to the next area. Here, swing across the rope and break
through the blocks to the east. Jump to the next rope, but instead of going
east, jump to the western ledge above. You can climb on the branches in the
background by holding Up to grab onto them while jumping. Make your way to
the northwest in this manner, collecting the coins along the way, and you
will reach a pipe. Go into the room below to find a giant coin bag. Exit the
room and head east by climbing along these branches. Once you reach the
silver coin, jump to the rope above and slide down its track to the end, then
jump to a treasure chest below to obtain "Piranha Dentures". Now, drop down
to the lower area and head east.
In the next area, make your way upward through here, collecting whatever
coins you have access to. At the top, continue east to the next area. Here,
jump across the closed flower to reach the upper ledge, and you will spot
something new: venus fly traps. The red ones will close after a few seconds,
while the purple ones will start to close instantly when you jump on them. If
you jump as they close, you can jump from them to reach higher areas and
coins above. Go east to the second red fly trap and wait for it to close,
then jump from it to the tall western flower to find a diamond above!
Go east and drop to the lower area to find a coin bag. Break the blocks to
the east and jump up the ledges, then continue eastward to the next area.
Jump to the rope and swing/jump to the west ledge, and continue upward to the
Max Fastosity Dasherator. As soon as you shoot out from it, turn and jump to
break through and reach another diamond. After that, dash to the east and you
will jump right onto the rope, which will slide across its track due to the
momentum. At the other side, jump to the ledge and enter the next area.
Out here, go east and jump from the red fly traps to reach the western tall
flower. Jump from it to the purple one, then when it's closed, jump from it
to the west ledge and open the treasure chest to find the "Eye of the Storm".
Jump to the rope above and slide along its track, collecting coins along the
way. Below, you can slide on the small slope to break through the blocks and
reach a silver coin (be sure to move the drill enemy first). Then, jump from
the red fly traps to reach the upper ledge and continue to the next area.
Here, go east and jump onto the first purple fly trap. When it closes, jump
from it to reach the branches above and to the west. Climb on them to reach
the last treasure chest, containing the "Pied Piper's Pupil". Go back down
and jump across the fly traps to continue moving eastward. Jump onto the rope
as it descends, then jump to the low eastern ledge to reach a giant coin bag.
Go west and up the ledges, then quickly get across by swinging/jumping from
the rope before it sinks.
At the top of the area, hit the checkpoint and shake the Merfle Barrel to
free the Merfle inside. Now, drop down a few ledges and go east to find the
Max Fastosity Dasherator (if you are going for the no-kill mission, it is a
good idea to avoid using this device for obvious reasons). Dash to the west,
turning around and jumping up the ledges above. Jump from the second ledge to
the west, going over the rope and collecting some more coins. Then, continue
west to the previous area. Dash to the west without jumping or moving and you
will make it safely through this area as well. In the next room, run across
the water and continue onward to yet another room ahead.
In this area though, jump from the ledge to get across safely, then continue
dashing westward. When you reach the end of the next platform, jump to avoid
crashing into the closed flower ahead. When you reach the next room, go west
and turn around when you fall off the ledge to go through the metal block and
collect some coins. Repeat this to go west, then again to collect the gold
coins below (ignore the gold if you want the time mission). Turn to the west
and jump to the ledge with the sign pointing westward, and head into that
area. When you reach the edge of the platform, jump to the rope and slide
along the track with it, collecting the gold coins along the way. At the end,
jump to collect a diamond, then drop to the ground below and go west to
escape the level.
4-2: Windbreak Bay
------------------
Missions: Collect 30,000 coins
Collect 10 gold coins in a row
Don't break your Subwarine
You are once again sent into the depths of the sea to play a stage in your
Subwarine. The stage will scroll for the entire length, so you will always
have to keep moving, but don't go too far ahead or you won't be able to see
what's coming up quickly enough. Shoot through the enemies until you get to
the first set of spike columns that attempt to crush you. Get past them and
the path will split for the first time. Take the upper path to reach a
treasure chest containing a "Lanternfish".
Further ahead, you will see another path split. Take the upper path for coins
(for the coin mission), but if you take the more dangerous lower path, you
will reach the treasure chest containing the "Ammoniteless Shell". Stay along
the lower path as you continue onward, and you will come to a diamond as
well. The submarine enemies you will encounter ahead all carry gold coins, so
if you want to get the 10 gold coins in a row mission done, be sure to kill
them and ignore the other enemies. Collect the five larger gold coins up
ahead, then the path will split once again.
At this split, if you take the bottom path all the way through, you will get
some gold coins and another diamond. If you take the middle path (go up, then
down), you will be able to reach the treasure chest containing the "Swine
Pearls". After the paths converge once more, you will reach a wall of
switches blocked by doors that open and close, and a number of water jets
pushing you up and down. You will need to shoot torpedoes at the three
switches until they are all destroyed, while avoiding the enemies that come
at you from behind. Once you destroy the structure, go forward to rescue the
Merfle from its barrel and complete this level.
4-3: Airytale Castle
--------------------
Mission: Finish before the clock hits 2:50:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 55,000 coins
Don't break any Rocket Buckets
Defeat the golden enemy
Starting off in this cloudy level, go ahead into the following area. Use the
enemies to reach the coin bags above (throw the enemies at the blocks below),
then go east and earthshake punch to raise the ! column briefly. Get past it
and continue eastward into the next room. You will see a doorway here, so
enter it by standing in front of it and pressing Up. In that room, jump
upward on the red conveyors and earthshake punch to lower the ! column, then
jump across and hit the blue block. Go back to the red conveyors and drop
down, and crouch under the spikes as you ride the blue conveyor ahead. At the
other side, go through the other doorway to exit the room. Avoid the enemies
that fall from above and continue outside to the next area.
Out here, you will see a rocket block; hit it and a Rocket Bucket will appear
on the platform. You can enter a Rocket Bucket like a pipe and exit it by
pressing Up, but it can be used to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Tilt
the Wii Remote to change the direction of the rockets, and tap/hold the 2
button to move. Use it to fly above, collecting the gold coins in the air
(there is a giant coin bag on a high western ledge). Get to the northeast
ledge and hit the red switch there, then get back into the Rocket Bucket and
go down to the ground level. Jump out of it and open the treasure chest to
find "Cupid's Bow", then fly onto the upper ledge and jump out before going
east.
In the next area, go east and make your way upward along the platforms. Stun
the enemy with a spike on its head, then go back down to the ground level. Go
east and throw it at the wall just below the ! column, then earthshake punch
to raise the column. Hop from the enemy onto the eastern ledge and enter the
alcove to find a hidden diamond! Earthshake punch again to get out, then go
back west and jump upward along the platforms. Ride the first moving platform
across the spikes and land atop the ! column. Earthshake punch to rise up,
then jump to the moving platforms above.
Jump your way upward on them, crouching to avoid the spikes along the way. If
you make it to the top ledge, you will find a giant coin bag. If you crouch
down on the third moving platform and ride it to the western point, go
through the narrow passage and shake the coin bag there, then earthshake
punch to uncover a Secret Map. Get back to where the giant coin bag was, and
ride the top platform to the east side, and go up the pipe above the safe
ledge. Get a Rocket Bucket and fly to the west, tapping the button to fly
slowly around the rotating spike poles. Make it across safely, then land and
go down the other pipe. When you emerge, open the treasure chest to receive
the "Rainbow Toucan".
Next, drop down the pit to the ledge below, and head east across the first
moving platform once more. This time, continue all the way eastward and
upward into the following area. In the next section, ride the first platform
to the upper ledge, and go east to a block in the floor. Ground pound to
break it, but jump to the side. Then, crouch down and jump into the hole
while holding Left so you land on the small ledge. Crawl through the opening
to reach the third treasure chest containing the "Flying Slipper".
Jump up the nearby ledges and head west to the moving platforms again. Ride
them to the west and northward (be careful of the swooping bird and the
cannon enemy above), and you will reach a giant coin bag on a high ledge;
drop to the ground with it and shake it for its contents. After you're done
here, make your way all the way east to the next room. Head all the way east
across this room until you reach the enemy with a spike on its head. Let it
fall from the ceiling, then stun it and carry it onto the moving platform.
Get to the second platform and throw the enemy at the eastern wall, then
bounce from it to reach the high ledge. Shake the golden enemy, then kill it
to complete that mission.
From here, go west onto the red conveyor. Get to the west side of it and do
an earthshake punch to raise the ! column. Quickly jump across and hit the
checkpoint, then shake the Merfle Barrel to free its Merfle. Drop off the
ledge and fall into the room below, where you will find a Max Fastosity
Dasherator, as usual. Use it and dash to the west, jumping with the coin arch
to avoid the spikes. In the next room, go west to the lower ledge, then turn
around and dash to the next ledge, breaking through the metal block in the
way. Repeat this back and forth maneuver on the way down and you will gain
more coins as well as another diamond!
When you reach the ground level, turn to the west and dash to the next area.
Jump when you reach the edge of the platform to avoid the spikes, then
continue until you drop to a lower ledge. At that point, turn and go east,
then turn again when you fall a second time. Continue westward into the next
area, and continue dashing across the cloudy floor. When you reach the higher
ledge, jump onto it and keep dashing onward through the next room, breaking
through the metal block halfway through it. In the next room, go across to
the second red conveyor, then quickly jump to clear the ! column. After that
point, simply dash all the way to the entrance and the level will be cleared!
4-4: Soggybog River
-------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:45:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 55,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Beat the stage without falling into the water
Starting off in the rainy stage, go eastward to the next area. In there,
avoid the enemies and swing across the ropes quickly as they will sink. Get
across quickly and land on the ledge with a pipe on it, so enter the pipe (if
you want the giant coin bag, go back across with the ropes and jump onto the
western ledge). In the pipe room, go west and jump on the bird as it swoops
down. Carry it to the west and drop to the bottom area, then shake its
feathers off. It will run away, breaking all of the blocks in front of you,
so crawl through to collect a diamond!
Exit the room via the same pipe, then drop to the ground and head into the
next area. Here, go east and jump onto the purple fly trap to trigger it,
then jump onto it after it's closed. Jump to collect a gold coin above, then
jump slightly to the west and ground pound so you go through the metal block
below (if you are going for the no-water mission, do NOT do this). In the
area below, swim to the east and jump up the ledges to reach a Max Fastosity
Dasherator. Use it to dash westward, but turn around as you reach the edge so
that you start dashing eastward when you hit the water. Jump through the
metal block and open the treasure chest to find an "Amber Ring".
Go up the ledges to exit this room, then shake the coin bag and break the
block to exit the enclosure. Jump from the fly trap to reach the upper ledge,
and continue east. Hop onto the fly traps and collect the gold coins high
above them, then use the rope to the east to swing onto the tall fly trap to
the west. From it, jump to the upper ledge and go east to a Max Fastosity
Dasherator. Use it and dash to the west, jumping onto the rope to slide all
the way across its track, collecting even more gold coins. At the other side,
jump to the ledge and open the next treasure chest to receive a "Bottle of
Toad Oil".
Make your way back to the eastern ledges (you'll have to drop down to achieve
this), and jump to that same rope on the track. Climb it, then swing/jump to
the east ledge to find a giant coin bag. After you're done with it, go back
down to the fly traps and jump to the eastern rope. Swing across the water
and jump to the east ledge, and enter that area. As soon as you enter, walk
to the edge of the platform and earthshake punch to unveil another Secret
Map! Now, climb/jump your way to the east along the branches, collecting the
coins along the way. Once you make it across, go ahead into the next area.
Here, go east and trigger the fly trap to close, then jump from it to the
western ledge (if you continue east to the next fly trap, you can jump from
it to find a large gold coin). Jump onto the next fly trap and leap out of
its grasp, then jump from its closed bulb to the ropes above. Jump to the
second rope and slide down its track while grabbing the coins. At the end,
jump to the next platform and make your way across the line of fly traps,
jumping from them when they close to reach the coins above.
Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator here to dash to the western end of the
ldege, then quickly turn and jump onto the fly traps. Hop onto the raised one
and jump to the higher ledge, breaking through the metal blocks and grabbing
the diamond at the other side. Use the Dasherator and go all the way west,
dropping to the bottom area. When you land, turn around and dash across the
water, sliding through the low blocks, and you will reach a pipe. Go down the
pipe there to reach a new room.
In here, go west to the Max Fastosity Dasherator, then dash across the fly
traps to close them all. Quickly turn around and run across the closed bulbs,
and jump through the metal blocks above to reach the treasure chest
containing the "Flowerworks". Exit the room the same way you came in, and
swim out of the passage. Make your way to the top area the same way as
before, then go eastward into the following area. There, simply go east and
climb on the branches to reach the high ledge, and continue to the next room.
In this area, go east and dash jump across the logs as they float along the
river current. When you reach the rope above, jump to it. Swing and jump onto
the eastern ledge first. Earthshake punch to knock the golden enemy above
downward, then shake out its gold coins before killing it for the mission.
Jump back to the rope and swing/jump your way westward from rope to rope
until you reach the high ledge. Turn and swing/jump to more ropes high above,
and you will reach an area to the east. Hit the checkpoint and break the
crates, then kill the enemies and shake the Merfle Barrel to free yet another
Merfle.
To begin the escape, climb/fall down the ladder and crawl through the passage
to find the Max Fastosity Dasherator. Dash with it to the west and you will
land in the river. Jump to the dry ledge at the end and revisit the previous
area. Go west and jump at the end of the high ledge to break a metal block
and collect another diamond (if you are going for the time mission, you can
ignore that part obviously). Continue dashing to the west until you reach the
room with the branches and the water below. Run across the water and jump at
the end to avoid crashing, then continue onward.
In the next area, dash across even more water, then jump twice at the end to
avoid crashing. Up ahead in the final area, jump at the end of the watery
path once more to avoid the crash, then continue onward to make your escape
at the level's entrance!
4-S1: Launchpad Labyrinth
-------------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 6:00:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 50,000 coins
Collect 10 gold coins in a row
Don't break any Rocket Buckets
Defeat the golden enemy
Break all stone blocks
Start off by going east into the next room. There, shake the giant coin bag,
then ground pound the stone blocks below and fall into the room far below.
When you land, hit the checkpoint and free the Merfle from its barrel. As
soon as you do that, go up the pipe to reach the next room. Out there, hit
the rocket block to get a Rocket Bucket. Once you enter it, rotating spike
poles will appear throughout the area, so maneuver to the east while evading
them. Get to the second set of rotating poles and collect the gold coins
around it (this is a great spot to get the 10 gold coins in a row mission
done), then fly upward to a ladder. Press Up to exit the bucket, then jump to
the ladder and climb up to a treasure chest; open it to get a "Solid-Gold
Flyer".
Go east and crawl through the passage, then drop down to the ledge below and
head into the eastern area. Dash into the rocket block and jump into the
Rocket Bucket, and make your way upward around the rotating spike poles. Be
sure to collect the coins in the side alcoves on the way up. At the top, jump
out and go up the pipe to continue onward. In the next room, dash into the
rocket block again and ride the Rocket Bucket upward. Go around the rotating
spike poles, then head downward through the next set (if you are doing the
time mission, simply fly all the way upward and avoid this detour). When you
can fly directly upward, do so and you will be able to collect a diamond and
some more coins. Land on the ledge there to find a treasure chest containing
the "Pot Full 'o Mystery". Then, jump up the ledges and go into the pipe at
the top of the area to reach the next room.
In the next area, dash into the block and enter yet another Rocket Bucket.
Fly upward through this room, moving along with the rotation of the spike
poles and collecting the coins along the way. At the top, jump out and go
into the pipe, as usual. When you emergy, dash into the block and hop into
the next Rocket Bucket. Fly all the way upward to a hidden alcove and collect
the diamond if you want it, then go back down and fly westward cautiously,
following the coin trail for guidance. When you reach the west side, fly
upward and continue to the east to collect more coins (if you are going for
time, simply go into the pipe now). Once you get all the coins, fly up to a
ladder; land on the platform below it and climb the ladder to reach a
treasure chest containing the "Dung Beetle Pendant".
From here, fly back to the western landing point and go through the pipe to
reach the next room. In the next room, hit the rocket block and ride the
Rocket Bucket upward once more. Fly upward by going around the rotating spike
poles and collecting the coins, and you will spot the golden enemy above.
Wait for it to float eastward, then fly under it and push it into the
ceiling, crushing it for the kill. Now, fly around and collect the gold coins
as you head westward along the upper half of the room, then land safely on
the far ledge. In the following room, dash through the stone blocks and
continue to the entrance area, where you can escape the level! It should be
obvious that if you want to complete all of the missions, you need to do this
level perfectly without any mistakes, so be careful!
4-S2: Riverbloat Rapids
-----------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:30:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 63,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Feed 5 enemies to Venus Guytraps
Shake a Turkeyjerk
Beat the stage without falling into the water
From the start, go ahead into the next area. Starting off in there, go
forward to the water, then dash jump across the fast-moving logs to reach the
other side. Jump to the upper ledges and ground pound to break the large
block in the ground, then stun the Turkeyjerk (the green birds) and drop into
the opening. Shake it (which will clear a mission), then let it go and crawl
through the passage to reach a giant coin bag. Exit the passage and continue
east into the next area.
Here, jump across the Venus Guytraps (the actual name of the fly traps), then
jump from the highest one when it closes to reach the giant coin bag above.
You can also clear the mission where you feed 5 enemies to the Venus Guytraps
by tossing the three enemies here into them, then exiting/reentering the area
to repeat. When you're done here, continue to the east area. Jump onto the
fly trap ahead and stun the bird, then take it to the lower ledge and shake
it so it runs through the low blocks. Crawl through to find a giant coin bag,
then go east. Jump into the water and ride the current to the western area
(if you are going for the no-water mission, do not do this). In the next
area, jump from a log onto the branches above. Climb them and break the block
to reach a treasure chest containing a "Venus Guytrap Seed".
Climb up the ladder to exit this area, then go east to the next area once
more. Now, go east and dash jump across more speeding logs, and hop upward on
more fly traps. Stun another bird when you reach the high one (jump from it
to reach a gold coin), then carry it downward. Trigger the red fly trap, then
when it closes, drop under it and shake the bird so it breaks the blocks. Go
through the passage it opens up to find a diamond.
From here, crawl back through the passage and head east into the next area.
Out there, go east and jump to the first rope above the water. Swing onto the
east ledge and break the block to find a Max Fastosity Dasherator. Use it and
dash westward, then turn around as you drop so you head east when you hit the
water. Slide under the low wall and through the blocks, and collect a diamond
at the other side. Get back to the Dasherator, then this time, jump from the
edge of the platform over the rope and across the fly traps. Jump to the
ledge to the west of it, then turn around and run across the closed traps and
jump to the higher ledges. Turn and jump your way upward, then break through
the metal block in the northwest and shake/kill the golden enemy. Then, go
east and quickly swing from the rope before it sinks, and head eastward.
In the next area, climb down the branches while avoiding the spikes, then go
west. Hit the block and you will see a flame enemy. Wait for it to burn out
(or come back if you do get ignited), then jump upward into its alcove so
that when you are lit up, you bounce off the walls an extra time. Dash to the
east and jump across the two fly traps, and hit the fire block to become
fully engulfed in flames. Go through the block to reach the next flame enemy,
and touch it to dash westward. Jump across the two fly traps again and jump
to crash into the wall below the spikes, turning yourself around. Jump across
the closed bulbs of the fly traps, and jump to the third one now. Jump and
hit the east wall, bouncing back onto the third trap's bulb. Quickly jump to
the high ledge and hit the fire block to fully ignite, then go through the
block to reach the treasure chest containing the "Emerald Melon".
With the first treasure in hand, go east to the next part of the level. Go
forward to the fly traps, then jump to the upper ledge by triggering them and
hopping on their closed bulbs. From the ledge you land on, jump to the rope
and swing/jump across the sinking ropes ahead quickly, then jump to reach a
ledge with the giant coin bag on it. Take it below and go east so you can
shake it without losing anything, then go ahead to the next area.
In there, go across the fly traps and kill the armored enemies on the ledges
to the east. Drop to the ground and break the blocks below the platform to
reveal a flame enemy. Touch it and go east, jumping to crash once. Jump to
the upper ledges and crash into the western wall, then go east and upward
some more and crash into the fire block. Go through it when fully engulfed,
then jump into the pipe.
In this room, go across the logs in the water and you will see a flame enemy.
Get to the west side of it, then touch it to crash into the west wall. Jump
across the logs and crash into the pipe, then turn around and jump back
across. Hit the fire block and get through it to collect a diamond. Before
you go, earthshake punch where the diamond was to uncover a Secret Map! Then,
go back down the pipe to exit the room. Make your way to the lower area
again, but this time break the eastern blocks and kill the cannon enemy
ahead. Go west and touch the flame again, then dash to the east. Hit the
first wall, then turn and jump to hit the second one. Jump to the upper ledge
and, while still in flames, go into the next area.
When you arrive in the next area in flames, dash to the east and jump across
the moving logs to reach the far ledge. Jump over the small ledge and hit the
fire block to become fully engulfed, then go through the block to reach the
treasure chest containing a "Muscleman Suit". Jump to the rope and swing/jump
to the west one. Quickly get to the west ledge and you will find another
giant coin bag. Go back across the ropes and get onto the eastern ledge this
time. Once there, hit the checkpoint and shake the Merfle Barrel to free its
inhabitant.
Now, go east and swing from the rope as it sinks. After it sinks, jump to the
east ledge and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash across the water,
breaking the logs as you pass. Slide under the low wall and jump onto the far
west ledge to continue to the previous room. There, go west and jump to the
thin ledge when you reach it. When you reach the water, jump over the fly
trap and continue west. Ahead, run through the next area and jump over the
gap when you come to it, then keep dashing onward.
In the next section, drop to the lower ledge and dash into the armored enemy,
then turn around and go east. As you reach the edge, turn around again so you
miss the fly trap and continue westward below. Up ahead, hop onto the higher
ledge and go through the metal block ahead to continue. When you arrive in
the next area, drop to the lower ledge and run onto the fly traps. Turn
around after you cross the middle one so you slow down and fall between them
to the ground below. Once you land, turn around and continue going westward.
In the following section, go west until you land on the water, then slide
under the low platforms above and continue dashing along the water to the
next area.
Simply dash through the next area you go through (there is nothing to worry
about sliding under). When you emerge in the next area though, slide under
the low walls and jump onto the western ledge at the end. Then, dash ahead to
the entrance area and escape this level!
4-S3: Prism Prison
------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 72,000 coins
Don't break any Rocket Buckets
Defeat the golden enemy
Beat the stage without using the checkpoint
Once again in the cloud world, go east to the next area. There, make your way
across the room while avoiding the enemies. Run and jump across the conveyors
and continue to the following room. Hit the rocket block and enter the Rocket
Bucket that appears. Fly upward to the northwest corner and land to find a
giant coin bag to shake. After that, fly with the Rocket Bucket to the
northeast corner of the room, then land and head east. Go across the
conveyors and earthshake punch to raise the ! column (when it falls, jump
onto it and earthshake punch again to reach a giant coin bag). Then, go
through the door to the next room.
In here, earthshake punch to raise the first ! column, then jump onto the
conveyor and over the enemy. Hop onto the same column and earthshake punch
again to rise up. Hit the green block to start the conveyor, then hit it
again as soon as the enemy falls from above. Stun it and carry it east to the
conveyor below. Throw it at the eastern column, then hop from it to get onto
the column. Earthshake punch to rise up on it, and go east to a giant coin
bag. Go back and jump onto the first column and earthshake punch to rise up,
then jump your way onto the green conveyor. Jump from the crate to the west
ledge and shake another giant coin bag.
Hit the green block below to move the conveyor, then stop it again when the
crate is towards the edge. Jump back onto it and jump from the crate, ground
pounding through the metal block below. Get to the upper ledges again like
you did before, then crouch as you jump into the gap, holding Left to land on
the narrow ledge. Crawl through and open the treasure chest to get the "Air
Guitar". Then, get back to the green conveyor and go through the door to the
west of it.
Hop across the floating enemies in this room to make it past the spikes, then
continue into the following area. Outside again, go east onto the conveyor,
and earthshake punch to stun the enemies. Carry the blue enemy to the east
and throw it at the ! column, then hop onto the column from the enemy.
Earthshake punch again to raise the column, then jump onto the moving
platforms and ride them to the west. At the other end, jump down to collect
some coins and a diamond. Head east and earthshake punch to raise the column
once more so you can progress to the next area.
In here, go east and hit the red and yellow switches as you approach them
(kill the enemies along the way, too). Hit the blue switch, then go back to
the west, hitting the yellow and red as well. Jump up the colored ledges and
defeat the armored enemy, then use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash
eastward and down the ledges. Jump to hit the three colored switches as you
pass through the corridor, then break through the metal block and enter the
pipe. When you emerge, get a Rocket Bucket and fly westward around the
rotating spike poles. Make it safely to the west side, then land and open the
treasure chest to find a "Flying Floor Pillow".
To exit this area, simply drop down to the area below, or fly back with the
Rocket Bucket, collecting coins if you wish. Regardless of how you do it, get
back to the previous room and head east past the switches. Hit the blue
switch and drop down, then go east to the next area. Here, go east and ride
the moving platforms upward. On the second one, earthshake punch to raise the
first ! column so you can jump to the west and pass under it. When you reach
the second column, earthshake punch again and jump to the ledge at the other
side.
Jump onto the column and ride the platform to the east, then stand on the
other column. An enemy above will throw bombs at you; catch one and shake it
to stop the timer, then go west and south to a ledge with a metal block in
the wall. Throw it at the wall and open the treasure chest to find an
"Electric Ukulele". Now, make your way back to the top of the room, and head
eastward to the Merfle Barrel (ignore the checkpoint on the western ledge if
you want to clear that mission). Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash
jump across the column tops, and continue to the western area.
In the next area, jump across the blue platform and continue westward. In
this next room, get a Rocket Bucket and fly your way upward, following the
rotating spike poles and avoiding the spiked walls. There is a ledge on each
side with giant coin bags on each, so be sure to stop at both to get those
coins (if you are going for time, simply get to the top). On a ledge in the
northeast corner, you will find the golden enemy; shake and kill it for the
added coins/mission if you want. Then, get to the western ledge and disembark
from the Rocket Bucket to continue onward.
Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to dash along the conveyors in here, being
sure to jump with the coin arches to continue along your path. After your
second jump, slide under the low wall, then jump to reach a conveyor with
gold coins and a diamond on it. Drop to the area below and jump slightly at
the end, then slide through the passage to the next area. Fall through the
sky, moving to collect the coins along the way, then when you land below,
continue west until you reach the entrance and clear this stage!
Boss: Bloomsday Blowout
-----------------------
Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage
Beat the enemy before time runs out
Defeat 5 Bumbleprods
For this battle, you will be up against a giant potted plant for what will be
an extremely annoying fight. It will try to blow you off the platform with a
strong wind gust (stay away from the edge and dash to the east when this
happens, or crouch if you are not holding anything to stay still),
periodically dropping enemies onto the platform for you to deal with. When
Bloomsday drops a Bandinero, quickly jump on it and throw it at the boss's
face to stun it. Use that time to dash attack twice, knocking the giant plant
back. Immediately following your attack, Bloomsday will plant seeds across
the platform, causing spikes to rise up from right to left, so be ready to
jump over that wave.
As the battle progresses, Bloomsday will summon a giant spike directly in
front of it, and will try to suck you towards it to attack. When you see
this, keep your distance to avoid taking damage. The boss will also leap in
the air and do a ground pound, stunning you if you're still on the ground
when it impacts. Be sure to jump to avoid getting stunned yourself; luckily
it stuns the enemies as well, making it easier to throw them at the boss to
attack like before.
One final tactic will involve Bloomsday putting a spike at each end of your
segment of the platform. It will then spit out an armored enemy; quickly
earthshake punch and shake it to reveal the Bandinero inside. Stand in the
middle area as Bloomsday drops two enemies into the area (ground pound them
quickly if you want to be safe). The boss will then suck you towards it
before blowing out, pushing you away. Keep this in mind as you carry the
Bandinero, and stay towards the middle area, jumping over the enemies as they
pass below if necessary. Jump to avoid Bloomsday's ground pound attack, then
throw the enemy at it and commence your attacking as usual. This pattern will
continue until you win the fight.

Area 5: Quiver Cliffs
=====================
5-1: Mount Bighill
------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 60,000 coins
Starting off in this new area, go east. On the next screen, go east and dash
through the first couple of wooden turnstiles. Jump to the upper ledge and
dash through to the east, then climb the ladder and jump up all the ledges to
reach a treasure chest above, containing the "Last Mahjong Tile". Go back
down and dash to the west through the turnstile to reach a giant coin bag.
Then, dash to the east and enter the next area. In here, go east and bounce
your way across the area, collecting coins along the way. To the east, bounce
high to collect the silver coin, then ground pound through the metal block.
Land on the western ledge and shake a coin bag, then dash through a stone
block and jump back up the ledges. Drop down into the pit and bounce from the
springboard below to a northeastern ledge. Bounce on it, then ground pound to
reach the top ledge. Before you continue, go to the east area and dash into
the turnstile. Now, go back west to the previous area, and dash through the
west turnstile, then go out and bounce so you land on it. Crawl through the
passage to reach the next treasure chest containing "Nine Winks".
Next, drop to the bottom area and go east into the next room. Bounce your way
onto the second springboard, then bounce and ground pound to collect the
silver and gold coins above. Ground pound and bounce onto the turnstile ledge
to the northwest and enter the pipe above. Collect all the gold coins in the
room you emerge in, then exit. Go east and ground pound onto the first wooden
turnstile to fall into the water below. Swim to the east, jumping over the
fish when it passes, and get to the eastern ledge to shake a giant coin bag.
Get back to the western ledge, then bounce and ground pound on the
springboard, and land on a high ledge to the northeast. Jump to the next
ledge to the east, then dash jump to an eastern ledge and open the treasure
chest there to find a "Dragon Whisker". After that, drop down and go east to
reach the next area. In there, go down the ladder and dash jump to turn the
first turnstile above you. Head east to find another giant coin bag, then
bounce to the upper ledge. Ground pound the second turnstile, then go back
around and do it a second time. For the third time, simply fall and land on
the other turnstile, then dash jump into the other one (so they both become
L-shaped).
Bounce onto the upper one and continue to the top platform. Run and jump (do
not dash) to an eastern ledge, where you will find yet another giant coin
bag. Shake it, then hit the checkpoint and shake the Merfle Barrel. Drop off
the east edge and dash into the turnstile so you can reach the Max Fastosity
Dasherator. Use it to break through the metal block and continue to the
previous area. Jump over the turnstiles and continue westward, then when you
reach the edge of the platform, jump to a higher perch and continue to the
next area. Don't worry about jumping through the next area; simply bounce
your way through.
In the next area, run through the turnstile and jump as it spins so you don't
fall into the area below, then go through the metal block to obtain a diamond
at the other side. Then, simply continue onward until you reach the final
room and escape this stage!
5-2: Creep Blue Sea
-------------------
Missions: Collect 40,000 coins
Collect 8 gold coins in a row
Don't break your Subwarine
You are once again stuck in the Subwarine for an underwater scrolling level
here. There will be a LOT of enemies coming at you in this level, but it's
nothing you can't handle if you keep shooting at them. You can also eliminate
the 8 gold coin in a row mission quickly by shooting at the three submarine
enemies early in the level. You will see a ring of bombs moving around up
ahead; shoot the red one to clear the ring, then hit the treasure chest to
find the "Pirate's Eye Patch".
Get through the strong vertical water currents up ahead (there is a diamond
along the ceiling next to some bombs at the end of the second stretch of
water currents). You will then have to deal with the wall/switch boss of
sorts; shoot the switch when the door opens while killing the enemies that
appear around you until the structure is destroyed. Up ahead, collect some
gold coins and destroy another ring of bombs (shoot the red one) to obtain
another diamond.
Shortly thereafter, the path will split for the first time. If you want to
complete the coin mission, take the upper path. Otherwise, take the bottom
path. Navigate past the spiky columns and bombs to reach a treasure chest
containing a "Message in a Bottle" on the sea floor. Regardless of the path
you took, there is a diamond at the point where both paths reunite, so be
sure to grab it. The path will again split up ahead, so take the upper path.
Shoot the third treasure chest to get a "Blue Coral".
After the paths converge again, kill another wave of enemies, and you will
reach another of those wall structures. If you stay close enough, you can
avoid the water currents and tilt your Subwarine at such an angle to hit the
three switches easily. Just be careful of the incoming enemies. Once you
destroy this structure, go ahead and free the Merfle and complete this level.
5-3: Slipshod Slopes
--------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:40:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 65,000 coins
Don't defeat any enemies
Defeat 5 enemies with icicles
Starting off here as usual, head east into the next area. You will find an
ice block ahead; if you dash into it, it will slide in that direction until
hitting a wall. Hit it to the east and jump from it to reach the coin bag
above. Ahead, you will find two more ice blocks along a flat stretch of land.
When you reach the second one, hit it to the west so it knocks into the other
block, then jump from the second one to the high ledge with the giant coin
bag. Hit the ice block below to the east, then jump from it and head east to
the next area.
There, drop down to the lower area and hit the blue block to raise the steps.
Go up the steps and hit the switch at the top, then go east. You will see a
sign with snow on it; do an earthshake punch to drop the snow on your head.
Go west and roll down the hill, plowing through the ice blocks ahead so you
can reach the treasure chest containing a "Hot Dog". Go east and hit the
switch to ascend the steps, hitting the switch again when you reach the top.
This time, hop on a Bandinero and carry it to the east. Place it down, then
bounce on its head to break the blocks so the giant coin bag comes down.
Then, go back to the ! sign and earthshake punch to become covered with snow,
and roll eastward through the blocks to the next section.
Here, dash into the ice block to move it eastward (if you are going for the
no enemy mission, you may want to relocate the enemies ahead first). At the
far east, dash into the block so it heads back to the west. Run behind it,
then after you go under the low overpass, jump onto the block quickly before
it passes under the second wall, and jump onto the high ledge. If you did it
right, you will be able to reach the treasure chest containing the "Crown of
Ice".
Next, hit the red switch and drop to the lower area, and get to the ice block
to the west. Dash into it and follow it eastward again, this time jump onto
it and hit the yellow switch as you pass under it. Jump up the yellow ledges
and ride the moving platforms to the west, then collect a bunch of gold coins
and a diamond! Then, head all the way eastward to the next area. In here, you
will see icicles overhead; do an earthshake punch to knock them down so you
can jump from them and reach higher areas. Swim in the water to the east and
you will find another hidden diamond, too. Before you leave, earthshake punch
where the diamond was to uncover a Secret Map!
Go back west out of the watery passage and earthshake punch to lower the
icicles. Jump from them to reach the northwest ledge and hop across a couple
more ledges (collect the gold coins in the air), and go down the pipe at the
end. Earthshake punch to lower the first icicle, then jump on it and
earthshake punch as soon as the meter refills to lower the next one for you
to jump onto. Repeat this until you reach the ledge at the far end, then open
the treasure chest to receive the "Aurora Robealis".
Exit this room via the pipe, and head eastward to the platform with two
icicles above it. Earthshake punch to bring them down, but this time jump to
the eastern ledge and climb the ladder. In the next room, go east and hit the
red switch at the bottom of the hill. Then, earthshake punch in front of the
! sign and roll westward onto the small hill. You will roll up the giant hill
and crash through the ice blocks ahead to reach the next area. Here, take the
upper path and simply go east while avoiding the flames that fall from above.
In the final area, go east and jump up the ledges, breaking through the stone
blocks to reach coin bags along the way. At the very top, dash into the ice
block to move it west. Jump to the other side of it and hit it so it moves
eastward. Follow it to where it stops, then jump from it to reach the giant
coin bag on its high perch. Finally, go west and hit the checkpoint before
freeing the Merfle from its barrel.
Now, drop down to the bottom area and go east to find the Max Fastosity
Dasherator (jump over the metal block). Dash to the west and jump when you
reach the higher ledge and enter the previous area. Simply dash across the
platforms into the following area. In the next area, jump over the wall and
go down the hill, then turn around and dash back up the hill. At the peak,
jump to break through a metal block and collect the gold coins and diamond.
Before you hit the diamond, turn around so you don't crash. Jump to the west
and head back down the hill. At the far west, hold Down to slide under the
low passage and break through all of the blocks.
In the following section, jump at the platform's edge to land below. When you
reach the slope, jump again to reach a high platform with another diamond on
it. Once you have it, jump again to the west and continue onward. For the
next part, simply go west and jump when you need to in order to avoid the ice
blocks on the ground. Then, continue dashing onward to make your escape and
complete this level!
5-4: Bad Manor
--------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:50:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 55,000 coins
Pound down all push buttons
Don't defeat any enemies
From the start, as usual, go east to the next area. Here, you will find two
new elements: the push buttons (small blue pillars), and mini-barrels (go in
one side, you come out the other side in miniature form, and vice versa). Go
through the mini-barrel to collect some gold coins in the passage behind it.
Go back out and ground pound the push button to make two coin bags appear.
Climb/jump up the poles above and jump to the upper ledge there. Earthshake
punch to raise the push button, then ground pound it to make two Bandineros
appear. Take one and carry it to the east, then place it down and jump from
it to hit the blue switch.
Jump upward along the blue ledges, collecting the gold coins along the way,
and take the diamond on the last ledge. Head back down and go eastward from
here into the next area. Earthshake punch to raise the ! pillar, then get
past the stunned mummy. Swim across the next part, jumping to avoid the fish
enemy. At the other side, earthshake punch to raise another push button.
Before you pound it, go east and touch a flame as it falls to become
engulfed. Go back and forth until you are fully engulfed, then go through the
fire block and enter the next room. Use the mini-barrel to become small, then
exit the room.
Jump up the series of ledges to the west and dash through a block, then crawl
through the small passage. In the next area, open the treasure chest to find
the "Vampire's Mirror". Exit the room and go back east to the mini-barrel
room. Switch back to normal size, then exit and ground pound the push button
for that mission. Take a Bandinero and hop from the other one to reach the
western ledges. At the top, bounce from the Bandinero to hit the red switch,
causing a giant coin bag to drop. Then, go east across the ropes and
earthshake punch to raise the ! pillar so you can continue to the next room.
In here, run under the enemy hanging above and it will fall. Jump on it to
stun, then pick it up and carry it to the east. Wait for the mummy to move
west, then jump over it and throw the spiky-headed enemy at the eastern wall.
Hop from it to reach the high ledge, where you can break a couple of blocks
to access a treasure chest containing the "Star Hammer". Go back to the west
and slide down the pole this time. At the bottom, wait for the bat to swoop
downward, then drop down and land on the ledge below it (where the Bandinero
is). Jump to the west and hit the blocks to lower a giant coin bag. Then,
head all the way east and jump up the small ledges, breaking the block at the
top. After that, go into the eastern room.
Avoid the enemy in the middle of this area for now, and use the mini-barrel
to become smaller. Head back out of this room, and drop down the ledges to
the bottom area once more. Ride the moving platforms to the west and dash
jump to the last platform. Crawl through the small passage at the end, and
open the treasure chest when you emerge to find "Pandora's Box". Crawl back
out of here and go eastward, then enter the room with the mini-barrel once
more. Become normal-sized and stun/move the enemy so it's not between the
metal blocks.
Next, shrink down and break the block to the east, and drop down into the
lower passage. Collect the gold coins below after breaking through a couple
more blocks, then use the mini-barrel to become larger. Hop into the cannon
and shoot yourself upward to reach the room high above. Shoot from the next
cannon to the western one, and then launch yourself directly eastward. You
will collect a lot of gold coins and a diamond along the way. When you land,
hit the checkpoint and shake the Merfle Barrel.
Now that it's time to escape, drop into the pit that just opened up to reach
the area below (do NOT ground pound if you are going for the time mission; I
will give details about that alternate path below). When you land, go east
and drop down again to reach a mini-barrel. Pass through it and continue
westward through the next room. Jump across the spike pits and crawl through
the small passage to reach a new area.
When you emerge, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash to the west,
collecting gold coins along the way. Follow the line of coins, jumping when
the line moves into the air to collect a diamond and avoid crashing. Go
through the next two rooms in such a fashion. In the third room, slide under
the low ceiling and go through the mini-barrel, and continue onward to escape
the stage!
Now, going back to the checkpoint, choose to ground pound downward into the
new opening. When you break through the blocks below, go west into the next
area. Instead of jumping over the spikes, climb/jump from pole to pole above,
avoiding the electrical enemies along the way. At the end, go into the next
area to the west. Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator to get through the blocks
to the west, then crash into the wall to the west. Jump up the two ledges and
go west by where the next line of blocks are. Do an earthshake punch at this
point to uncover a Secret Map.
From here, get through the blocks to the west and use the cannon to shoot
yourself upward. When you hit the ceiling high above, simply continue
westward, backtracking through the rest of the level so you can make your
escape. Of course, if you go for the Secret Map during the escape, you won't
be able to clear the time mission, so you will have to play this level at
least twice to get everything here.
5-S1: Bamboozle Village
-----------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:30:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 70,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Defeat 3 enemies with bombs
Shake a Peek-a-boom
Detonate 5 bombs simultaneously
Start off by going ahead into the area ahead of you. There, go east and you
will see a bomb-throwing enemy (Peek-a-boom) on its perch. This is a good
time to complete a couple of your missions if you so desire (killing 3
enemies with bombs, and destroying 5 bombs at once; shake the bombs to stop
their timers). Dash into the turnstile and continue eastward, making your way
upward along the ledges. After you pass the two enemies with spikes on their
heads, jump to the ledge above and dash through the west turnstile to reach a
coin bag. Dash back through it, but jump to hit the turnstile to flip it
again. Jump from it to the roof, where you can find a giant coin bag. Then,
go east into the next area.
Dash into the first wall/ledge and drop to the bottom area. Dash into the
bottom-left wall and collect a gold coin, then dash through the bottom-right
wall to find a Max Fastosity Dasherator. Climb the ladder and dash into the
west wall, then go back down and use the Max Fastosity Dasherator. Jump to
the west, then turn around and jump to the eastern ledge. Break through the
metal block and enter the next room. Climb the ladder there, and ground pound
on the springboard floor to reach the northwest ledge. Follow the path back
to the previous room.
When you return here, hit the yellow switch and dash into the next wall to
make it into a ledge. Jump across the gap to the other side, and drop into a
new alcove and go down the pipe there. Bounce around and collect all of the
gold coins in here, then exit via the same pipe. Dash into the eastern wall
and drop to the very bottom. There, use the Max Fastosity Dasherator again,
but this time, jump from ledge to ledge while dashing at high speed. Go up a
total of four ledges, dashing into the eastern area on the fourth ledge (the
one with the yellow switch overhead). In the next area, jump at the edge to
reach the high ledge with the gold coins. Collect the large gold coins and
break through the metal block, and enter the pipe.
In this area, go east and stun the Peek-a-boom, then pick it up. Ground pound
on the springboard to reach the high ledge, and place the enemy down. Take a
bomb and go to the western ledge, then drop it when the countdown is at 2.
That way, it explodes when it passes next to the metal block in the wall. If
you did it right, drop onto that new ledge and open the treasure chest to
receive a "Nice Cup of Green Tea". Drop back down and exit the room via the
pipe.
Back in the previous room, drop to the springboard below. Bounce your way
naturally to the east, ground pounding to break through the blocks and
collect silver coins above when necessary. After you collect the third silver
coin in this manner, ground pound and land on the ledges above. Get past the
armored enemies (earthshake punch, then shake them to remove the armor), then
go west to the next area. Collect another large gold coin and dash into the
wall, then get to the ledge directly below and hit the yellow switch. Now,
use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash/jump back and forth up these
ledges. At the very top ledge (the one you entered the room from just now),
turn and jump through the metal block to the west so you can get the treasure
chest containing the "Tiger-Eye".
Now that you are done with this room, take any path into the eastern room yet
again. Drop to the springboards below and bounce your way all the way to the
east side. When you reach the ledge with the arrow sign, simply follow it to
a new area. In there, ground pound on the springboards to reach the high
ledges. Jump to the easternmost ledge and grab a bomb that the Peek-a-boom
tosses at you. Throw it at the metal block in the wall so you can access the
giant coin bag on that ledge. Take another bomb and drop to the area below,
then throw it at the other metal block. Once it's gone, go ahead into the
following room.
There, drop to the ground below and dash through the first turnstile. Get to
the other side and jump to flip it again (so the spikes point westward). Take
the Bandinero and throw it at the top half of the next turnstile (so the
spikes on it point downward). Dash through the stone block and earthshake
punch to stun the drill enemy. Throw it at the top half of the next turnstile
for the same reason. Dash through the block and jump to the next ledge, and
climb the ladder. Jump onto the ledges you just flipped and collect the
silver coins on them.
When you reach the vertical ledge, jump from it to the high ledge where you
will find a diamond. Go back to the other ledges and dash jump to flip the
third turnstile so it becomes a safe ledge as well. Next, continue all the
way eastward into the next area. In this next room, bounce your way up the
springboards (hold Right to avoid hitting the spikes as you do so; try not to
ground pound either). When you reach the third springboard, jump onto the
western ledge above (press the 2 button as you hit the springboards to jump
without hitting the spikes above). Break through the stone block and shake
the coin bag in that alcove. Earthshake punch where the coin bag was to get a
Secret Map!
Get onto the eastern ledge after this, and earthshake punch/shake the armored
enemy. Take it to the west edge of the platform and throw it at the stone
block in the northwest corner. Ground pound from the springboard to reach
that high ledge, where you will find the treasure chest containing the
"Collapsible Telescope". Then, go east and drop (do NOT ground pound) into
the gap at the east end. When you land, ground pound into the first ledge and
shake the giant coin bag to the west. Pound through the next ledge and
shake/kill the golden enemy for that mission. Then, pound through the final
ledge and continue eastward.
In the next area, head east until you reach the wooden turnstile. Dash into
it so you fall onto the springboard below. Go east and bounce onto the upper
ledge, then dash into the turnstile again so you land on it. Jump from it to
reach the checkpoint and the Merfle Barrel. When you are ready, shake the
barrel to begin the escape. Ground pound the turnstile to fall through it,
then dash into it. Bounce to the east and onto the upper ledge above, then
ground pound the turnstile once more. Ground pound the springboard to reach
the high ledge with the stunned enemy on it, then go east and drop into the
Max Fastosity Dasherator.
As soon as you land on the springboard, jump so you make it over the
turnstile, then continue dashing to the previous room. Dash along the low
passage, sliding under the narrow part when you get to it. In the next area,
dash across the platforms and jump at the end to continue onward safely. Keep
dashing westward through the next two areas until you crash, then bounce onto
the ledge and climb down the ladder to reach the next room. Climb down the
next ladder and enter another Max Fastosity Dasherator. Dash to the west,
jumping onto the next ledge when you reach it. From here, simply continue
westward, collecting some gold coins along the way, and you will reach the
exit very shortly!
5-S2: Freezing Fields
---------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 2:00:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 70,000 coins
Defeat the golden enemy
Jump off 3 Pengoons' heads in a row
Eat 5 heads of garlic
From the start, go eastward into the next area. Out there, go east and dash
through the stone blocks, then dash to move the first ice block. Continue
east and you will find a stack of two ice blocks. Jump over them and dash
jump to move the top one westward. Go back to the west and the second ice
block will be on the left side of the lower alcove. Jump from it to reach the
high ledge with a giant coin bag. Stun the Pengoon there and throw it at the
golden enemy above to clear that mission (since there are three Pengoons in
this area, you can move them all near each other and jump on them to complete
that mission as well). You can also shake the Pengoons to get garlic for its
mission, too.
Head back to the eastern area, and dash into the third ice block to push it
against the wall. Then, jump from it to reach the high ledge and continue
into the next area. Drop to the lower area and go east until you see a ledge
above you. Bounce on a Pengoon's head to reach it, and shake the giant coin
bag you find. Get to the western edge of this ledge, and earthshake punch to
stun the spiky enemy. Jump and ground pound to kill it, then jump from the
block to the next ledge so you can claim the diamond up there.
From here, go east and earthshake punch at the giant ! pillar to lower it.
Crawl through the passage and enter the pipe at the other end. Here, head all
the way west and jump onto the upper ledge, then earthshake punch to lower
the ! pillar. Jump into the Max Fastosity Dasherator and dash jump onto the
pillar, then quickly turn and jump to the west ledge. Turn around and jump to
the east, landing on the ! pillar as it rises up. Slide under the low passage
and break through the block at the end to access the treasure chest
containing "Santa's Sled". Then, break the blocks and exit via the pipe.
Jump up the ledges to the west and make your way to the far west again. When
you reach the ice block, dash into it to move it eastward. When you reach the
! pillar, earthshake punch to lower it, then move the ice block onto it. When
the pillar rises up again, dash into the block to move it eastward. Finally,
jump from it to reach the top platform and enter the next section. There, go
east to reach a ! sign with snow on top of it. Stand in front of it and
earthshake punch to cover yourself in snow and temporarily lower the !
pillar. Quickly move to the eastern slope and you will roll to the west,
breaking some ice blocks below and gaining access to a treasure chest
containing the "Frozen Mammoth".
Go east and jump onto the ledge, then earthshake punch and jump onto the !
pillar. Wait for it to rise up, then do another earthshake punch in front of
the sign to become covered with snow. This time, move to the west and drop to
the lower area, then go west to a smaller slope. Roll eastward from it and
you will break through some more blocks, allowing you to reach a hidden room
with a diamond inside! Go back to the west and earthshake punch/jump your way
upward once more. Cover yourself with snow and move onto the ! pillar, then
when it rises up, walk to the western slope and you will roll all the way up
the tall eastern slope, entering the next room in the process.
When you crash, jump up the ledges (do NOT break the crate). Go east until
you are standing on a ! pillar, then earthshake punch to lower it. Go west
and break a stone block, then dash into the ice block to move it westward.
When it stops, dash into it again to move it all the way east. Follow it and
earthshake punch to lower the pillar, then move the ice block atop it. When
it rises up, dash into the ice block to move it westward. Ground pound
through the crate, then jump onto the ice block and earthshake punch to lower
the pillar. Jump to the high ledge and open the last treasure chest to
receive the "Ever-Ice".
Once you are done here, wait for the pillar to rise up, then dash into the
ice block to move it eastward. Then, jump from it to reach the high ledge and
enter the following room. In there, go east and kill the enemies on the
ledges, then drop to the bottom area. Dash into the three ice blocks to move
them across the spike pit, then dash jump onto them at the other side. Dash
into the three blocks to move them back to the west side, then continue
onward yourself. Avoid the falling blue flames as you progress up the path,
then hit the blue switch at the top and enter the next room.
Jump up the ledges ahead and slip into the cannon, then shoot yourself
through the metal blocks above. When you land in the room above, hit the
checkpoint, then go east and earthshake punch to lower the icicles. Jump from
them to reach the two gold coins above (you can dash into the icicles to
break them, too). Get to the eastern ledge via the icicles and bounce off the
Pengoon's head to collect another diamond. Earthshake punch to lower the
icicles again, then jump to the second one and earthshake punch once more to
cause the highest icicle to fall. Jump onto it, then jump and ground pound
through the metal blocks to enter the room below.
Collect all of the gold coins as you fall towards the middle of the pit. Once
you land, dash into the stack of ice blocks to move them all, revealing the
Merfle Barrel; do not shake it just yet though! Jump over it and pound the
stone block, then dash into the ice block to slide it westward, clearing the
blue flames along the way. Follow it, then dash into the block again to move
it back to the east. Now, shake the Merfle Barrel and move the ice block
further east. Jump from it and enter the Max Fastosity Dasherator. Dash to
the west and jump into the previous area.
Dash along the path and jump over the spikes, then you will see some ledges
above. Jump back and forth across them, then jump through the metal block
wall to the northeast. Turn around as you collect the diamond, then go back
and forth to reach the ground level. Continue westward to the following room.
Slide under the low ceiling as you go west, then turn and jump from the ledge
above to the next tier. Slide under another couple of walls as you collect
gold coins. At the other side, turn/jump your way up a couple more ledges.
When you reach the third level, quickly turn and jump through the metal
blocks to the east. As you collect the gold coins, start to turn so you can
grab the diamond and not crash into the wall. Dash to the west and jump
across the spikes, then jump through the blocks as you collect the gold coins
along the way. In the next room, drop to the lower area and turn around to
dash up the steep hill (use the Max Fastosity Dasherator in here if you need
it). Once you land in the starting area above, go west and make your escape
out of here!
5-S3: Boogie Mansion
--------------------
Missions: Finish before the clock hits 1:30:00
Beat the stage without taking damage
Collect 83,000 coins
Pound down all push buttons
Beat the stage as Mini Wario
Defeat the golden enemy
Beat the stage without using the checkpoint
Start off by going into the eastern area. Once there, head east and pound the
first push button to uncover two Bandineros. Climb up the moving pole and
jump to the northeast ledge, then avoid the spiky enemy and climb up the next
pole. Shake the coin bag on the western ledge and jump across the pole to the
east side and enter the next room. There, go east and you will spot the first
treasure chest; do NOT open it though! The chests in this stage are traps, so
you must throw a bomb at it to kill the trap and claim the treasure.
For now, head east and jump/climb the pole as it moves, avoiding the spikes
above it. You can kill the skeleton enemies here by waiting for them to throw
their heads, then dash into their bodies for the kill. Jump across the next
set of ledges (wait for the bat to swoop down before you kill it). Climb the
next pole, then jump to the east ledge, and onto the top half of the pole
when it extends upward. Earthshake punch on the western ledge to raise the !
pillar, then go west and shake the giant coin bag. When the Peek-a-boom
throws a bomb upward, shake the bomb and drop it, then earthshake punch to
raise the pillar once more. Take the bomb and drop to the very bottom area,
then throw it at the treasure chest to get the "Ghost Potion".
Now, make your way upward through this room once more. When you reach the top
area again, head east and jump across the gaps to enter the next area.
Outside, go east and defeat the mummy enemies, then earthshake punch to raise
the push button from the ground. Pound it again to reveal two coin bags, then
climb/jump your way upward via the poles above. Make your way to the
northwest ledge, where you will find the golden enemy; kill it to complete
that mission. Then, go back down a few of the poles, and get onto the eastern
ledges. From there, go ahead to the next area.
Here, jump across the poles to the east and earthshake punch to raise the !
pillar when you land. Ground pound through the stone blocks and bounce on the
springboard below to find a ball. Take it and ground pound on the springboard
to bounce to the top area, then go east. Further ahead, drop down the ledges,
using the ball to kill the spiky enemies. On the bottom ledge on the east
side, throw the ball at the stone blocks in the wall to break them, then
crawl through.
Become Mini Wario via the mini-barrel below, and jump up to the third ledge
above. Dash through the blocks to the east and collect the diamond in that
alcove. Drop down a ledge and repeat this to collect some bronze coins as you
head through a passage. Break through the blocks at the other side and use
the springboard to reach the next narrow passage in the western wall. Follow
the passage through, then break the blocks and fall to the area below. Dash
through a couple more blocks to the west and become normal-sized again. Take
the bomb and jump to the ledge above, then go east and throw it at the
treasure chest to receive the "Magic Lamp".
Next, head west and jump upward onto the poles. Then, make your way all the
way eastward through this room by jumping and performing earthshake punches
to raise the pillars in your way. Get past the second pillar and you will be
in a new room. Hop into the cannon and shoot towards the northeast opening,
and you will ricochet through the room. When you land, simply continue into
the following room.
In this room, defeat the enemies below and earthshake punch/shake the armored
enemy up ahead, then kill it as well. Pound the push buttons into the ground
(the leftmost two yield coin bags). Dash through the blocks and head east,
and drop to the lower area before heading back to the west. Earthshake punch
to raise all of the push buttons above you, and to raise up the ones where
you are. Ground pound both of the ones by you to recover two coin bags and
Bandineros.
Use the Max Fastosity Dasherator and jump through the metal block to the
west, then follow the coin path and turn/jump onto the ledge above. Jump onto
the raised push buttons, then turn around. At the edge, jump through the
metal blocks to the west. Turn around once more and jump to the above ledge,
and slide through the stone blocks in the narrow passageway. Quickly turn and
crash so you stop dashing, then throw the bomb on the ledge above at the
treasure chest to obtain the "Therapeutic Music Box".
Now, go east and drop through the hole to reach the lower level. Then, head
east into a new room. Shoot your way directly upward and you will bounce your
way through a ton of blocks before landing in the room below. You will find
the checkpoint and Merfle Barrel here (do not take the checkpoint if you want
to clear that mission). When you are ready, shake the barrel and the escape
will begin once more, so head into the western room.
In here, make your way upward by jumping between the poles as they move. When
you reach the second set of poles ahead, go up the steps to the west and
continue into the next room (for the time mission). If you are going for the
coin mission, simply get to the highest point of the left pole and jump in
the air to collect a diamond overhead. In the next room, go up the ledges and
you will find a cannon ahead. Shoot towards the northeast and you will land
in a second cannon.
Now, if you are going for the time mission, simply shoot directly westward
and fall to the area below. If you are going for the coins, shoot in a
southwesterly direction while aiming towards the floor. If you did it right,
you will be launched to the northwest, collecting gold coins and a diamond
along the way. Then, pound through the blocks to collect more gold coins and
another diamond.
Regardless of how you did it, when you land below, use the Max Fastosity
Dasherator and enter the next room. This next part will explain how to
collect all of the coins for that mission; skip down two paragraphs for the
time mission version. Dash to the west and jump onto the next ledge when you
come to it. Jump up the ledges and dash back and forth to collect two gold
coins without crashing. Go down the ledges now, then when you are on the
bottom ledge, jump to the eastern ledge and pass through the mini-barrel.
Collect another gold coin and turn/jump to the higher ledge to exit the
passage.
Drop to the ground below and dash to the west to become normal-sized again.
Dash to the west and jump onto the slightly higher ledge ahead. Collect the
gold coins as you turn around, then jump to the next ledge and break the
metal block. As you go through it to collect the diamond, turn around and
jump to the third ledge to the west, then jump to the top ledge and continue
dashing into the next area.
If you are doing the time mission (as well as the Mini-Wario mission), follow
these directions. When you dash in from the cannon room, go west and jump
onto the first ledge. Quickly turn and jump to the eastern ledge and go
through the mini-barrel. Go east and turn/jump to the west ledge, then break
on through the blocks. When you land below, jump to the first ledge and
continue westward. Go back and forth, jumping up the next couple of ledges
along the way, and continue westward through the skeleton enemy. Simply
follow the path into the following room.
Now, in the next room, follow the coin path as you head west, jumping with
the coins to maximize your profit. Slide through the narrow parts if you are
normal-sized, otherwise keep on running as Mini Wario. Then, simply continue
through the next couple of areas and you will make your escape! Of course, in
order to complete all of the missions, you may have to try this level again a
couple of times.
Boss: Large Fry Cook-Off
------------------------
Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage
Beat the enemy before time runs out
Feed Large Fry 2 bombs in a row
For this battle, you are up against a giant floating orb called Large Fry. It
will glow before crashing into the ground (jump to avoid being stunned),
which will cause two giant bags to fall into the room. Shake the bags and
enemies will pop out while the boss floats around overhead. Stun an enemy and
throw it into the boss's open mouth, and it will spit out a bomb. Throw the
bomb into the boss's mouth (if you don't have time, shake the bomb to stop
the timer) and it will take damage and crash down to the ground briefly. Use
that opportunity to dash attack for added damage.
The battle pattern is basically the same for the entire battle, just so you
know. As the battle progresses, tougher enemies will be inside of the giant
bags. You will also need to throw two enemies into Large Fry's mouth in order
to get a bomb. Large Fry will also gain an attack where he will glow green
before dashing back and forth in the air. To avoid this, you need to stay on
the ground (you may need to stun/defeat the tougher enemies to avoid taking
damage during this). Additionally, in between bomb attacks, Large Fry may
pound the ground twice in a row, so don't go hunting for enemies so fast!
Once you defeat the boss, collect its emblem and you will be off to the final
stage of the game!
===============================
Final World: Shakedown Schooner
===============================
VS the Shake King
-----------------
Post-Game Missions: Beat the stage without taking damage
Beat the enemy before time runs out
Complete the level with at least 60,000 coins
When the battle begins, Shake King will dash back and forth across the room.
Jump on him as he dashes and he will crash into a wall head first. Dash
attack him several times, then he will emerge stunned. Shake him down for the
coins (the shaking part is optional), then throw him at a wall to cause
additional damage. The boss will then gain some new moves at this point. He
can now do a ground pound to stun you (he glows blue before this).
When the Shake King glows red, he will either throw a giant enemy at you
(jump over it), launch a series of bouncing fireballs at you, or dash towards
you to grab/shake you up as well. Wait until he dashes back and forth, then
jump on him and perform your dash attack when he crashes. Once stunned, toss
him at the wall for the second hit. Shake King will now destroy the room,
causing you to fall into a room below. The same battle plan will continue
down there, only now, his ground pounds will send shock waves in both
directions to damage you. You will also need to jump on him twice during the
dash attack to make him crash.
Repeat the same battle plan a few more times, then the floor will be
destroyed again. A quick scene will show the room where the princess is being
held below, but when you both land, the area will become dark and you will
have to fight the Shake King again in the clouds!
For this second round, a lot of the Shake King's attacks will be electric
based. He can float in the air back and forth, shooting electrical beams
downward from orbs placed above (don't stand under an orb and you can avoid
the attack). He may float back and forth with a constant thin beam shooting
downward and orbs rotating around the boss himself. Stay to the sides to
avoid the thin beam, but watch out when he reaches a side since a larger beam
will be shot; move towards the center of the room to avoid it.
The Shake King will also send three electrical orbs to float around the room
at random, so don't make contact with them if you can help it. Other than
that, all of the Shake King's moves are the same. When he starts dashing, it
will take three bounces on him to make him crash so you can shake/throw to
cause damage. Continue the battle in such a manner until you finally defeat
the Shake King. Now, all you have to do is watch the credits. Congratulations
on completing this game!
