None of those guides have any reference to the fatalities that can be performed on the Wii version! So, this guide was written for all you Wii owners out there that own the game. 2.0 Legal Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide is intended for personal use only. Tne game was originally released on Playstation 2 and Xbox in late 2006, and then released on the Nintendo Wii in mid 2007 with a few notable changes. First of all the Wii version had a new selectable character, Khameleon. Secondly, it features a new control scheme that was specifically designed for the Wii-remote and nunchuck, but also supported the Gamecube controller and the Classic controller. The Wii version also sports a new endurance mode, and additional menu screen background images. Finally, the last notable change is that the Wii version lacks the online functionality the PS2 and Xbox versions had. Some of the errors in the movelists have also been corrected. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon features every single character from every single mainstream Mortal Kombat game (excluding the couple of spinoffs) to date, including characters that were exclusive to specific versions of games in the past. 4.0 What’s in this guide? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide contains all of the fatalities that can be performed in the Wii version of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and lists the controls for executing them with all three control options available to owners of the Wii version. It's basically an easily printable version for those that don't care about the rest of the character moves. 5.0 Stuff You Need to Know ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.1 KREATE-A-FATALITY ********************* Mortal Kombat Armageddon introduces a new mechanic to the series when players are given the opportunity to perform a fatality. Instead of each character having specific fatalities that are executed with a move combination similar to a special move, you now have lots of different options with the new Kreate- a-Fatality system. What this basically means is that you have the option of executing up to 10 of a large variety of brutal body-mutilating moves on your opponent before finishing them off. There's common moves all characters can do, and some other moves only characters that yield specific weapons can do. There are also different moves to be performed if your opponent is facing towards you or away from you, or whether they have been knocked to their knees or they are lying face up or face down. As mentioned you can perform up to 10 hits on your opponent before finishing them off, and the game rates you depending on how many hits you managed to get in. But beware! You have limited time to perform each hit, and this time decreases after each successful hit. The ratings you can achieve are: 1 hit: Fatality 2 hits: Deadly Fatality 3 hits: Killer Fatality 4 hits: Bloody Fatality 5 hits: Mortal Fatality 6 hits: Brutal Fatality 7 hits: Evil Fatality 8 hits: Vicious Fatality 9 hits: Savage Fatality 10 hits: Extreme Fatality 11 hits: Ultimate Fatality There's three types of moves that can be performed when finishing an opponent: Attack: A move that hits the opponent. You can string multiple attacks together or follow an attack with a transition or finisher Transition: A move that repositions the opponent for more pain. You can follow a transition with an attack or finisher Finisher: A move that finally kills the opponent for good Note the actual Finisher is counted as a hit, so if you manage to get 10 hits in then execute a finisher, it's counted as 11 hits. Similarly if you simply execute a finisher straight away without attempting any hits in a fatality chain, it's counted as 1 hit. Transitions however, are not counted as hits (except in the case of bosses). 5.2 Button Mapping ****************** So now you are probably wondering what buttons are mapped to what attacks for each of the different controllers available for the Wii. So here they are: WiiMote + Nunchuck Attack 1 ........... D-Pad Left Attack 2 ........... D-Pad Up Attack 3 ........... D-Pad Down Attack 4 ........... D-Pad Right Block .............. Z Change Style ....... C Throw............... A Breaker ............ Forward + Z Parry .............. Back + Z Lie Down ........... Forward + Z Gamecube Controller Attack 1 ........... B Attack 2 ........... Y Attack 3 ........... A Attack 4 ........... X Block .............. R Change Style ....... L Throw............... Z Breaker ............ Forward + R Parry .............. Back + R Lie Down ........... Forward + R Classic Controller Attack 1 ........... Y Attack 2 ........... X Attack 3 ........... B Attack 4 ........... A Block .............. R Change Style ....... L Throw............... zR Breaker ............ Forward + R Parry .............. Back + R Lie Down ........... Forward + R 5.3 EXECUTING FATALITIES WITH THE WIIMOTE AND NUNCHUCK ****************************************************** Yes, it is correct...fatalities can be performed on the Wii version of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon using the WiiMote. Unlike executing special moves however, when performing fatalities the Nunchuck is also used in addition to the WiiMote. Some moves require you to move one or the other in a specific movement, others require that you move both at the same time. Also unlike the special moves, there's more movements of the WiiMote that are used. Like special moves, you can also perform fatalities in the "normal" way on the Wii - but my recommendation is that...if you are going to execute your fatalities this way, you might as well use one of the other control schemes as they are a lot better for it. 5.4 WEAPON AND BOSS CHARACTERS ****************************** You'll notice there are certain inputs that can only be performed when a character has their weapon drawn. But only some characters that have swords and short swords can actually use their weapons as part of a fatality chain. Also, boss characters have their own unique set of kreate-a-fatality inputs. The Sword Characters are: Scorpion Sub-Zero Cyrax Dairou Jarek Fujin Kenshi Shang Tsung Ashrah Li Mei Sareena (Yeah, even Jarek, who has an axe for a weapon. Weird huh?) The Short Sword Characters are: Mavado Kano Mileena Kira (Yeah, Mavado but not Kabal. Another weird one) Boss Characters are: Moloch Goro Kintaro Onaga Blaze (But not Shao Kahn and Motaro. Weirdness. Go figure) Every other character in the game would be considered a "regular" character when it comes to fatalities as they cannot use weapons as part of their fatality chains. Even Shao Kahn and Motaro (very oddly) who are actually Boss characters but have the same fatality chains as other normal characters and not the fatality chains of the bosses. It's also odd that many of the other characters do indeed have swords for weapons (such as Kung Lao and Chameleon, for example) but they cannot use their swords as part of their fatalities. Only the characters listed above can use swords as part of their fatalities. Note too that the Short Sword characters can only use their weapons in fatalities when the opponent is standing up and facing you. Note also that even though Blaze can perform fatalities himself, fatalities can not be performed on him. Haha, he can dish it out but can't take it back. What a wimp. 5.5 TERMINOLOGY *************** Attacks: Attack 1 = 1 Attack 2 = 2 Attack 3 = 3 Attack 4 = 4 Block = BL Change Style = CS Directions: B = Back (Away from your opponent) F = Forward (Towards your opponent) D = Down U = Up WiiMote specific movements: HCTL = Half Circle Towards Lower - The half circle towards your opponent that arcs down HCTU = Half Circle Towards Upper - The half circle towards your opponent that arcs up HCAL = Half Circle Away Lower - The half circle away from your opponent that arcs down HCAU = Half Circle Away Upper - The half circle away from your opponent that arcs up WiiMote or Nunchuck movements: Poke = "Poke" the WiiMote or Nunchuck by moving it quickly away from you Pull = "Pull" the WiiMote or Nunchuck by moving it quickly towards you Twist C = Twist the WiiMote or Nunchuck clockwise Twist CC = Twist the WiiMote or Nunchuck counter-clockwise Clap = Swing both the WiiMote and Nunchuck away and then towards each other Unlike the other half-circle movements, these movements all require you to actually move your whole arm rather than just flicking your wrist. Miscellaneous: If move inputs are separated by commas - eg: B,F,1 - that means you press the inputs in sequence. That is, Back, then Forward, then Attack 1. If move inputs are separated by +'s - eg: B+2 - that means you press the inputs together. That is, Back + Attack 2 at the same time. Also pay attention to whether I refer to using the WiiMote by itself, the Nunchuck by itself, or Both at the same time. 6.0 Fatalities ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay. So...fatalities. This is where it starts getting really interesting for an FAQ author such as myself as I need to list the fatalities to execute them with three different control configurations, and there's heaps of inputs you can do. I'll list them similarly to the special moves in the movelist. I'll list the Gamecube/Classic controller inputs and then the WiiMote inputs. This is going to be fun...alright...here we go... 7.1 NORMAL CHARACTER FATALITIES ******************************* STANDING (facing you) .....................
