Introduction -~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~-- Sonic Lost World, a WiiU exclusive, is an excellent Sonic game that pays homage to a lot of classic Sonic gameplay elements, bringing back enemies from the Sega Genesis days, mixing perfectly 3D and 2D platforming, and offering quite a challenge in the second half of the game, despite the levels being on the short side. Regardless of its flaws, Sonic Lost World is in my opinion one of the best Sonic games of recent years, quite simply because it remains true to the originals, unlike some of the other games of the series. It's also pretty similar to Sonic Colors, which also was a great Sonic entry, and it even brings back the Wisp power-ups from Sonic Colors, although they are overly underused in Sonic Lost World. It also feels like it somewhat replaces the unfortunate Sonic X-treme, which was never released. The game's best challenge is collecting all the Red Rings, or Special Rings, or Medals -- call them as you wish -- and in this guide I will do my best to help you locate and collect all of them. Doing so lets you unlock Super Sonic, which can be used in any stage by collecting 50 rings. Good luck! 2. Game Basics -~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~-- ~~ Controls ~~ -L Stick: Walk -L Stick + ZR: Dash Hold ZR while moving to dash. From standstill, hold ZR before moving to charge up, increasing the starting speed. -ZL: Spin Dash Hold ZL and press A repeatedly to charge up, then release to dash forward at high speed. Hold ZL again while dashing to maintain the Spin Dash. -X/Y: Duck Move while ducking to roll. -A/B: Jump -Press A/B while jumping for a Double Jump. -Press X/Y while jumping to stomp onto the ground and bounce up again. -Locking-On Approach an enemy and a target mark will appear over it. Jump once to lock on to it. Press A while locked on for a Homing Attack. Press X/Y while locked on to Kick. ~~ Parkour ~~ -Wall Run: Dash diagonally towards a wall without stopping and Sonic will run along the wall. -Wall Climb: Dash towards a wall without stopping and Sonic will run up it. -Vault: Approach a low wall while Dashing to vault over it. -Side Step: While climbing on walls use the L stick and A/B to side step. -Wall Spin Dash: Press ZL to give you an extra speed boost while climbing walls. -Wall Jump: While climbing up or running along a wall, press A/B to jump away from the wall to another wall on the other side. -Hang: When the momentum brings you to the ceiling, press X/Y to grab and hang from the ceiling. You can then move left or right. 2. Red Rings Guide -~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~--~-- Windy Hill: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: Right at the beginning of the level, go straight ahead and after the second speed boost, you'll cross a brige, then press ZR to run up the tree in front of you and collect the red ring above. 2: At the third checkpoint on the main path, touch the bell, then follow it and touch it after every collapsing path until it goes up in a tree and turns into a red ring. Press ZR to run up the tree and grab it. 3: A little after the third checkpoint and the bell, you'll reach a giant wooden structure turning around the path; climb to the top ledge and on one of the wooden ledges on the side of it you'll find a red ring. 4: After climbing to the top of the wooden structure, jump to the grass area above and use the springs here to reach some clouds. Climb up to the smaller clouds on the right and bounce on the second one to grab a red ring above. 5: After the last checkpoint just before the end of the level, you'll go through an area with waterfalls. Just go straight ahead and you'll find this red rings on your path where the spikes are. Windy Hill: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: The first red ring is in the middle of the windmill you come across at the start. 2: At the windmill, stand on a platform and wait until you are at the top, then jump on the blocks to the right to find the second red ring. 3: When you reach the waterfall area, grab the power-up, then use it when you get to the loop and a portal will appear in the center. Go in and hold down the jump button to charge, then release it to jump up and collect the red ring. 4: After the loop in the waterfall area, go right and you'll see a snail and two sheep on the ledge above. Run up the wall left of the sheep with ZR to find a red ring. 5: Just as you exit the waterfall area, climb up the platforms left of the loop and double jump over the triangle of rings to grab a red ring above. Windy Hill: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: After the first checkpoint, you'll run through a tunnel with boulders and bats. Then you'll bounce on springs. When you land in the tunnel ahead, you'll notice the floor has some blue transparent tiles. Break them with (B+Y) to bounce and smash through. In the room below, break the crystals to reveal a red ring. 2: The second red ring will be on the third path you encounter that has a platform with spikes spinning over (just before the second checkpoint). 3: After the second checkpoint, take the left path and after a speed boost and a spring you'll find a big crystal which you can break to reveal a red ring. 4: After the second checkpoint, take the right path instead of the left where the third red ring is. Well, you won't see a right path, but you'll see a trail of rings on the wall where the beetles are, and to the right, two walls above the chasm. Stand on the right edge of the path, run up the wall (vertically) where the rings are with ZR, then press the jump button and Sonic will automatically switch to the adjacent wall on the right, then press jump again to switch to the opposite wall and so forth until you cross. (So just keep on pressing jump after you have run upward the first wall and you should cross almost automatically for the rest) Break the crystals in the room ahead to find the red ring. 5: In the last tunnel with boulders before the end of the level, touch the bell and go after it, touching it everytime you catch up. It will then turn into a red ring for you to collect. Windy Hill: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: After jumping over the torns near the start of the level and passing over the second bridge, you'll come to six springs and some sheep just before the last torn. Instead of jumping on these springs, go right to find a batch of three other springs. Jump on these, then jump on the next three springs to find the red ring. 2: In the second part of the level (the 2D one), which is after the first checkpoint, you'll come to a waterfall in the background and you'll see two paths, one below the other with a trail of rings. Take the bottom path with the rings and go right to find a secret path which leads to a red ring, a life and some trapped animals. 3: After the second checkpoint, you'll soon come to a waterfall with three platforms going down. Wait until you see a red ring on the last one and go grab it. 4: A bit after the third checkpoint, you'll get a power-up. Use it right away and go up to the loop in the area above, to the right. It's very important that you swallow as much platforms and enemies as possible before going into the portal in the loop, but watch out for the timer so you have enough time remaining when you enter. After entering the warp in the loop, you'll be in a small secret room. Swallow the blocks here, then charge by holding down the jump button and release it to jump higher and collect the red ring above. The more debris the vortex has swallowed, the higher you will jump. So if you can't reach it, try again and swallow more stuff before going in. 5: After getting the vortex power-up and collecting the fourth red ring, go right a bit more and you'll come to a windmill. To the left of the windmill is a tiny platform. Jump on it, then jump on the highest platform possible on the windmill and stay on it until it turns to the right. Then jump on the three tiny platforms on the other side which have some 10-rings and a life on them. Then from the left platform, jump on the windmill to the left again, on the highest platform possible. Stay on it and it will turn to the left. If the platform you jumped on was high enough, you will get a boost and Sonic will jump upwards by himself, collecting the red ring above. If you don't get it, just try again until you get a platform that is high enough to give you a boost. (you don't have to press the jump button at all; Sonic will be launched in the air by the windmill itself). Desert Ruins: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level, stick to the right side of the area (you can spin dash through the moving sand so you're not slowed down) and you'll come to a tall tree just after a ramp. Run up the tree with ZR to collect the red ring above. 2: When you get to the first side-scrolling section, at the end you will run up a wall and you can then go right to reach the exit. Instead of going right, keep running up the rest of the wall and at the top you'll get a red ring. 3: After aforementioned side-scrolling section, you'll be outside again and at some point you'll come to two quicksand pits with a platfom in the middle. You can either run up the wall (ZR) to reach the red ring on it or use the power-up that allows you to fly. 4: At the second side-scrolling section, when you reach the exit, don't leave yet; instead run up the wall to the left, then run up another wall to the left again and touch the bell at the top. Avoid the worms and keep on catching the bell until the red ring appears. This will put your reflexes to the test. 5: After the second side-scrolling section, you'll be outside again. When you reach the spot with all the trees, run up the first tree to find a bell. Then follow it and catch it until it runs ahead. Jump on the speed boost in front of the giant worm to be launched in the air where you'll collect the red ring. Desert Ruins: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level you will come across a free-fall section. Stay in the middle as you get close to the end to grab the red ring. 2: After the free-fall section, go through a tunnel and then you'll be on a path with an enemy throwing honey at you. Keep an eye on the left side of the path to get the second red ring. 3: After the second red ring, you'll go through some tunnels, then you'll be on a wooden path with some acorns. Home-attack the first acorns, then the second acorn to the left of the path to be launched into the third red ring. 4: After the second free-fall section, you'll go through more tunnels, then you'll be a 360 path with different tunnels. Take the tunnel to the right, the one with three lives inside. Then after the next tunnel, you'll be on a wooden path again. Don't jump on the sping here, instead just jump over the gap to the left to collect the fourth red ring. 5: Right after the fourth red ring, you'll be on another 360 path. This time, circle around to the tunnel that is underneath, the one with four lives. Then you'll run across the last red ring. Des(s)ert Ruins: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: At the second checkpoint, you will be on some blue licorice platforms. Instead of jumping on the oreo to the right, head back down to the bottom platform and jump on the rotating cookie underneath. Then jump to the red ring in the alcove to the left. 2: After the second checkpoint, jump on the second oreo to the right, but don't jump into the cannon on the right side. Instead, stand at the right edge of the oreo, so that the left side goes up. Then jump from the raised left part to reach the ledge above. Jump into the cannon here to collect a red ring on your way. 3: After getting the second red ring, you'll come to two cannons shooting chocolate balls. Jump over them, then jump over the sping to collect the red ring on the platform. 4: Right after the third checkpoint, you'll need to jump on some rotating cookies with wasps above. There is a red ring on one of the sides of the last cookies. Just wait for it to turn on the correct side to collect it. 5: At the very end of the level, the red ring is located on top of the highest cannons above the exit. To reach it, just jump on the chocolate cannonballs and they will make you bounce higher and higher as you bounce from one to the other, until you reach the red ring. Desert Ruins: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level, you'll be chased by a tornado. At some point you'll see the first red ring above some platforms that you must jump to. 2: After the first checkpoint, you'll need to use the power-up to drill underground. Near the end of this section, you'll go up to the top of the screen and the second red ring will be there in plain view. 3: As soon as the second tornado starts chasing you, the third red ring will be over some platforms on your way. 4: A little after the third red ring, you'll go through a loop while the tornado is chasing you. Right after the loop, double jump to reach the platform above and jump on the cages to cross. Jump on a few more to reach the fourth red ring. 5: Near the end of the second tornado chase, you'll come across some quicksand with the last red ring hovering above. Jump over to collect it. Tropical Coast: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: At the very beginning of the level, you'll come across some water spouts. Use the third one to go up and jump on the ledge to the left. Run up the tree to your left to collect the first red ring above. 2: Go straight ahead from where you collected the first red ring and you'll see three water spouts with a bell atop the first one. Wait for the water level to be high enough so you can reach it, then follow it around on top of all the water sprouts until it turns into a red ring. 3: In the second area, use the water spout on the left side to reach the ledge above and then go straight ahead and cross over to the other side by home-attacking the wasps. Then run up the first tree and springs will take you to the third red ring. 4: After freeing the butterflies, you'll come to another area with water spouts. Go up the third tall water spout to double jump on the ledge to the right of the area. A red ring is waiting here. 5: Just before the end of the level, you'll jump on some clouds. The last red ring is inside a capsule on the cloud in the top-left corner (just one row before). Tropical Coast: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: After using the first orange juice whirlpool at the very beginning of the level, go left to a narrow pathway where you'll find the first red ring. 2: In the same area where the first red ring is, run up one of the trees in the top-right corner of the area to find the second red ring atop a tree. 3: On the spherical area where the second checkpoint is, you'll see a spinning blade surrounded by totem poles. Run up one of the poles to find the third red ring on top of it. 4: After the third checkpoint, you'll come to a grass area with cannon enemies. In the middle of the area you'll see a circular hole with a small round platform in the center, with some beetle enemies. Defeat all four and a red ring will appear. 5: At the end of the area where you got the fourth red ring, you'll lure an apple across a narrow path. Instead of jumping into the juice whirlpool afterwards, jump on the small platforms to the left to reach a tree. Run up the tree to find the last red ring. Tropical Coast: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: After the first checkpoint, you'll come to an intersection where you can go up or down. Jump on the upper path and at the end you'll grab a red ring. 2: After the second checkpoint, you'll go through a water tunnel with sea serpents. Right after you move past the second one (don't use the spring), jump back on the rail behind it to find a red ring. 3: After the third checkpoint, follow the path until you come to an intersection going up or down. Jump on the upper path and stay on it until you get to the end, where you'll collect a red ring after the loop. 4: After the fourth checkpoint, you'll go through a second water tunnel. Right after the first sea serpent appears, look on the right for a small green rail. Jump on it and follow this path to find a red ring. 5: After the water tunnel mentioned above, you'll come to a fan up ahead. The last red ring is on the left rail just before the fan. Tropical Coast: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level you'll go from one globe to the next until you are propelled into the air, falling over to an area consisting of many small square platforms. On one of these platforms is a bell. Touch it to initiate the chase and follow it around the platforms until it turns into a red ring. 2: After the second checkpoint in the 2D side-scrolling section, you'll see five platforms above the water. Stand on the middle one and wait for the water spout to raise the platform so you can reach the red ring above. 3: After getting the second red ring, continue until you reach more platforms above water spouts. Stay on the last one and wait for a pink enemy to jump out of the water. Home-attack it, then jump to reach the top of the loop on the right and collect a red ring. 4: After the third red ring, keep going until you reach two trees with monkeys throwing coconuts. The red ring is between the two trees. 5: Further ahead from the fourth red ring, you'll reach a corridor with spikes on the ceiling. The last red ring is close to the ceiling near the end of this part. Frozen Factory: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: When you first start the level, instead of going straight ahead, go backwards south to reach the path on the other side, underneath the normal road. Follow that path until you get to an animal cage surrounded by some spikes. There is a red ring way above the cage; to reach it, jump on the cage, then jump again and double jump to grab it. 2: At the second checkpoint, you'll arrive on some clouds. Touch the bell on one of the clouds and chase it around to make a red ring appear. 3: When you reach the third checkpoint, instead of going straight ahead, go backwards south to reach the path on the other side, underneath the normal road. Go forward until you come across three pistons. Jump on top of the last one to find the red ring above. 4: At the fourth checkpoint, go left and you'll see a long pathway made of spikes with a crystal in front. To the left of the crystal is a blue checkered wall. Stand in front of it and a hidden spring will boost you up on the ledge above. You'll see a red ring at the end of the wall ahead. This red ring can be tricky to get. Don't use the spring here. Jump against the wall and press R to run along it. As you get close to the red ring, you'll start to loose momentum, so quickly press L to speed boost towards the red ring and then double jump to grab it. 5: After getting the fourth red ring, jump back on the ledge where you did the wall run and this time use the spring to reach the next section. Just follow the linear path and wall run along the following wall to reach the exit of the level. The last red ring will be on your way; you can't miss it. Frozen Factory: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: Sometime after the first checkpoint you'll be on a pool table path. Knock all the balls into the holes along the way to make a red ring appear on the path ahead. 2: Right next to the third checkpoint is a chasm in the middle of the area with a red ring hovering above. Leap across the gap to collect it. 3: Sometime after the fourth checkpoint, you'll cross a path with some roosters trying to blow you off the path; in the area right after that, you'll find a red ring on the right side of the path. 4: At the fifth checkpoint, you'll be at an intersection where you can go left or right. Go right and push the yeti off the platform (then press X to stop the ball so you don't fall). Jump over the gaps from platform to platform until you collect the red ring just before the next checkpoint. 5: Near the end of the level, you'll get to another pool table path. Knock all the balls into the holes like you did previously to make the last red ring appear. This one is a lot harder this time though. It might take several tries, so don't hit the checkpoint after, just fall down to restart the section fom the last checkpoint. Frozen Factory: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: At the end of the very first room, the red ring is on top of the highest green tokens stack. 2: After the pinball mini-game at the beginning of the level, go straight ahead from the first checkpoint until you come across two robot enemies. Behind the second one is a bumper with a red ring above it. Just jump on it and grab the red ring above. 3: After getting the second red ring, keep going to the end of this room and you'll see two stacks of green tokens on side side of the room. Jump on top of the left one to be taken to another pinball machine. You'll need to get to the very top of the pinball game; once you get into the exit slot, you'll collect the red ring by the same occasion. 4: Shortly after the second checkpoint (in the room just after the second pinball mini-game), you'll see a bell in the purple carpet area. Touch it and chase it around to make a red ring appear. 5: Right after chasing the bell for the fourth red ring, you'll be in a corridor with 5 panels with numbers on them. The last red ring is on top of the right wall, close to the '1' number. Getting it can be a little hard. Starting from the beginning of the corridor, run along the right wall by holding R, then press left and B while still holding R to switch over to the left wall. Then do the same thing again to switch to the right wall again. When you get close to the '1' panel, do a double jump to grab the red ring. This might take some practice to get, but keep trying until you get the hang of it. Frozen Factory: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: At the very beginning of the level, don't use the speed boost on the ground, instead double jump over it to reach the upper path on the right. There's a red ring on it. 2: After the first checkpoint, when you are in the first ice tunnel, you will come across this red ring at the end of a trail of rings; it will be on your way, so you can't really miss it. 3: Once you are inside the frozen factory in the 2D side-scrolling section, you will see this red ring on the ceiling above the black water full of pink enemies. Just grab onto the ceiling (with Y button), cross over and release above the red ring to collect it. 4: When you get to the part where you have to run around some bolts to go up, stick to the left side when you have the chance and you'll see the red ring in an alcove in the middle. 5: In the last 2D side-scrolling section just before the end of the level, at some point you'll run across a path made of ice blocks with two pistons underneath. Break the ice (jump + Y) above the red ring underneath to collect it, but make sure you do it when the pistons are under you. Then carefully jump back out through the hole you made. Silent Forest: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: When the level starts, jump on the rightmost rail, then you'll see another rail to the right with an enemy throwing eggs. Jump to that one, and at the end of it a spring will launch you up the wall. Run along the wall (by holding R) and follow it to the left to reach another raised area with bouncing mushrooms. Use the speed boosts here and they will take you to a red ring. 2: After the first checkpoint, cross the muddy water using the flowers until you reach three moles and a tree with flowers going left or right. Jump on the red ones to the left and a spring will take you to another red ring. 3: Also after the first checkpoint, but instead of going straight ahead to cross the flowers, go backwards south to reach the path on the other side, underneath the normal road. Follow the path and avoid the spiky balls to find this red ring on the right side of the road. 4: At the second checkpoint, instead of going straight ahead, go left a little bit to find some rails. You'll see a bell at the end of the right one. Go on it and chase the bell around to collect a red ring. 5: Also after the second checkpoint, but this time take the normal path going straight ahead. When you get close to the end of the level, stick to the rightmost rail to collect a red ring. Don't use the speed boost on the middle rail though. Silent Forest: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level, when enemies start falling on you trying to crush you, double jump to the platform up in the air on the right and jump on the next following platforms to reach a red ring. 2: Just before the first checkpoint, you'll see a red ring in an alcove below the path. Wait for the enemy to crush the path and then jump down and grab the ledge to climb into the alcove and collect the red ring. 3: A little after the second checkpoint, you'll come across this red ring directly on the path after a spring. You can't really miss it since it's in plain view. 4: Shortly after getting the third red ring, you'll cross using the musical note upgrade or the vine loop and then you'll reach an area with a little blue sparkly enemy going around a platform and a grass area with some rings and platforms on the right. Right above this area is another higher platform with a red ring on it. To reach it, home-attack the mushroom enemy on the right as it bounces up to give yourself a boost to reach the platform with the red ring. 5: Also very shortly after the fourth red ring, you'll come across a platform with an animal cage on it, and underneath it is a narrow passage with the red ring. Silent Forest: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: At the very beginning of the level, all you have to do is to stay on the upper, ice path and you'll find the first red ring on your way. 2: A little after the first red ring (first checkpoint), you'll run through an ice tunnel with some boulders, then you'll be in an area with some thin ice platforms above the ground, and on the bottom floor you'll see bomb enemies and squares of green goo. Jump down to the floor level and look around between the first two platforms to find a bell. Chase it onwards to obtain the second red ring. 3: Right after getting the second red ring, you'll hit a spring to get back on the upper path. Instead of advancing forwards, go backwars south to retrace your steps back to the beginning of the tunnel. (Alternatively, you can just follow the upper path from where the bell is) Eventually you'll come across a part of the floor that is made of purple tiles. Break them with a bounce attack (B+Y) to fall in the area below. Break the crystal here to find a red ring inside. 4: After the second checkpoint, you'll go through a tunnel with lots of boulders and lots of green goo. Near the end of the path, watch for purple tiles in the last patch of goo just before the trail of rings. Break them to fall in the area below, where you'll find a red ring inside one of the icicles that fall from the ceiling. 5: Right after the third checkpoint (the last one), you'll see some rings on both sides of the wall ahead. Run along either side of the wall (hold down R and use the jump button while pressing the direction you want to go), then double jump to reach the tunnel above. Break the purple floor here, then in the new area, run along the walls ahead to collect the last red ring. Then you'll have to keep running and jumping between the walls to reach the other side. This one is pretty hard to get, and requires patience and practice. Silent Forest: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: Near the beginning of the level, you'll come across the first statue head pounding the ground. Jump on it and wait for it to go up so you can reach the red ring above it. 2: After the second statue head pounding the ground, you'll use a speed boost and you should see the red ring on the path below. Just jump on the platforms to the left once you come to the spider enemy and collect it on the spinning round platform. 3: In the second inside area (the dark one), shortly after the beginning you'll come to the second statue head pounding the ground, which is surrounded on the left by a small pig enemy, and on the right by a larger armored pig throwing bombs. Jump on the statue head and wait for it to go up, then jump through the wall on the left to find a hidden alcove with a red ring. 4: In the same room as mentioned above, sometime after getting the third red ring you'll go across a loop and a speed boost, then you'll be in an area with many round spinning platforms with springs on them. After jumping on the first spring, jump on the platforms to the left, then wall run up the wall with the rings on the left to reach the red ring on the platform above. 5: In the same dark room as mentioned above, but this time at the very end of the room, defeat the two armored pigs by kicking back the bombs at them, then double jump on the high platform and then jump on top of the statue head which is the exit door, but you'll be on top of it instead. Double jump to reach a secret area above it and follow the corridor to the left, avoiding the obstacles to find the last red ring at the end. Sky Road: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1: Near the start of the level you will climb atop a windmill-like wooden structure. Once you reach the grass area above it, go left to the edge of the area to find a giant spring. Use it to collect the first red ring. 2: After the first checkpoint, you will be in an area with crumbling paths. Don't use the speed boosts leading to the golden cannon; instead just jump over them and make your way straight ahead to the number "2". Go right from there and at the edge of the path you'll find a red ring. 3: At the third checkpoint, which is where you get the flying power-up, go around the path to the underside and you'll see the red ring on the wall ahead. This is another one that can be hard to get. Run and jump over to the wall, while holding R to run along the wall, but press the jump button while holding the stick in the direction you want to go and keep on "jumping" to run along the wall and collect the red ring. Then keep wall running to reach the path again. 4: After the fourth checkpoint, touch the bell ahead (or to the left of the area, depending on what side you took earlier) and chase it around the area until it turns into a red ring. 5: After the part where you destroy a turtle cannon while bouncing on a cloud platform, you'll run along a series of cylinder paths with caterpillars. The red ring is under one of them, on the underside part of the path which is brown colored. Sky Road: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: At the very beginning of the level, you'll see this red ring above a bunch of rings. 2: A little further ahead from the first red ring, this one will be on a higher small platform above the dagon robot. 3: When the dragon robot starts to shoot lasers, look for a red ring on small platform below. 4: Just before the last checkpoint, this red ring is on a small platform above a gap with an animal cage. 5: Right before the cannon taking you to the boss, you'll see the red ring on a small platform below. Jump down and then double jump to reach it. Sky Road: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: Between the start and the first checkpoint. 2: After the first checkpoint, among a group of rings. 3: Slightly before the second checkpoint. 4: After the second checkpoint, between the missiles. 5: Just before the third checkpoint, after a giant missile. Sky Road: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1: Near the start of the level, you'll see this red ring in plain view in the middle of the screen. Just hang from the ledge above to collect it. 2: At some point you will slide down a sand slope, and you will come across this red ring in the middle of the slope, among some enemies. 3: In the second part of the sand slide, when the camera is facing you, at some point a cactus ball will fall, and the red ring will appear to the right of it. 4: In the second 2D side-scrolling section, which is right after the sand sliding, you'll go upwards and come across a bell in the middle of some bouncing platforms. Touch it and chase it to the top to collect a red ring. 5: The last red ring is in an alcove to the left of the path where you must wall run to go up, shortly after the fourth red ring. It's in plain view so you can't miss it. Lava Mountain: Zone 1 --------------------------------- 1-5: The red rings in this level will appear as the meteors fall down, so just run around while you defeat the bosses to collect them during the fights. I would recommend getting all five before the third fight, because by then it will be harder to collect the remaining ones, so just wait for the meteors to fall to get all of them before defeating the second boss. Lava Mountain: Zone 2 --------------------------------- 1: Sometime after the first checkpoint, you'll come across a chicken spitting eggs, then two loops and three spherical rails. The first red ring is around the third circle rail. 2: After the second checkpoint, when you enter the water tunnel, just stay on the rightmost rail and you will collect the second red ring on the next rail after using the spring. 3: After the fourth checkpoint, you'll need to jump over a couple of mine carts, then you'll home-attack blue wasps to cross some gaps. On the rails ahead you'll see a red ring below. Time your jump from the top of the rail you are on to land on the small rail where the red ring is. 4: A little after getting the third red ring, you'll come across circle rails; a small one, then a larger one with mine carts rolling around it. There's a red ring on that one, so stay on the small one until you see the red ring in a spot where you can get it, then jump to it and jump over the mine carts. 5: After the final checkpoint, when you are racing through the rails to pass through gates before they close, stay on the green rail that doesn't have the "1" number on it as you pass through the last gate to collect the red ring. Lava Mountain: Zone 3 --------------------------------- 1: At the beginning of the level, the first red ring is on the tall platform in the middle of the lava. You'll need to wall run up to it or use the hover power-up. 2: In the second 2D side-scrolling section (with emo purple-haired Zor), at some point you'll need to spin dash up a curled path, but if you go right instead, you'll find a hidden path leading to a red ring. Then just keep climbing up to the top. 3: After you defeat the second boss, Zor, you'll be outside again. You can use the hover power-up to speed dash through the rings on the left to cross, or wall run between the walls ahead. To get the third red ring, you'll need to wall run between the grates; it's located against the left one near the end. 4: After getting the third red ring, you'll have to use another hover power-up or wall run between two more walls. Do as before and wall run between the two grates ahead to collect the fourth red ring on the left wall. 5: After getting the fourth red ring, you'll cross an area with giant cannons firing at you. Near the end of that area, you should see the last red ring above the second to last cannon. Run towards it and jump on top of the cannon to grab it. This may take a few tries to get the jump right. If you can't do it, it might be easier to jump on top of the cannon before that one and use the spring on top of it to reach it. Lava Mountain: Zone 4 --------------------------------- 1-5: The red rings in this level have to be collected while you fight the final boss. Just keep an eye on the road and try to memorize their location, since they will always appear in the same spots. It's best if you collect all of them before hitting the boss, or you could miss some. --End-- 4.
