DuckTales Remastered for Playstation 3 EXTREME mode guide for heart containers, lives and ice cream. by brutalhits Version 1.1 Created 17 August 2013 Last Updated 16 September 2013 This document is only intended for GAMEFAQS.com If you discover any items I've missed (make sure you are playing on extreme mode because it has less items) then please mail me knight1337@hotmail.com ------------ Introduction ------------ This guide is intended for help with the trophy "Smarter than the smarties" with an overview of all the heart containers, lives and ice cream. I recommend starting with Transylvania and The Himalayas because they are the only levels with a heart container. ------------- The Money Bin ------------- --Life-- After going up at the right of the stage then going up on the left side of the stage there will be 3 invisible chests on the left side that appear after you touch the air there. The top one has a life. Make sure to not destroy at least the second chest so you can reach the third. --Ice cream-- Soon after this there will be a red cannister. Don't knock it away but just pogo on top of it first. The top of the two chests here holds an ice cream. You can run back and forth to make cannisters reappear in their starting location. ------------ Transylvania ------------ --Ice cream-- After seeing the first mirror (this one you cannot enter) there's a chest elevated above some stairs. This one holds an ice cream. You might wanna save it for later as you shouldn't have gotten hit yet by the only 2 enemies you've encountered so far. When you follow the path on the right you will meet a Beagle Boy (for progressing the stage) and end up coming out of the mirror by this ice cream. --Ice Cream-- Climb the first rope you see and go up one screen, then climb it all the way to the top and jump to the left. The ice cream will appear. * Credit goes to "Wcbezoeker" --HEART CONTAINER-- After going up one screen and heading all the way toward the right past all the coffins and the ball-and-chain guys there will be a coffin against the wall stand on top of it and the 4 square boxes next to you will disappear. The big chest contains the heart container. Don't bother hitting the two coffins here, they both contain a ghost. --3 Ice creams-- Go up one screen and into the mirror here. You will have to ride a minecart. When you have to jump out you can jump in an upper or lower cart. Both of these lead to one ice cream. At the end of this section is another ice cream, do NOT jump to obtain it. --3 Ice creams-- After defeating the Beagle Boy there's another minecart section. The part where you drop down slightly onto more track, the fourth track here holds an ice cream. Do NOT jump. Then there's another section where you can pick the upper or lower path by jumping into one of the two carts. Both paths have one ice cream. ------------- The Himalayas ------------- --HEART CONTAINER-- Right after you see the fuel regulator get stolen by bunnies head down 1 screen then to the right are 4 square blocks that will go invisible when you go near them. --Ice cream-- After the heart container go down and to the left. After a spider you will come across some blocks of ice around some stacks of solid blocks. Touching the air right above the second block makes ice cream appear. --Life-- Soon after you see 4 blocks of ice stacked. Break the third one for a life --Ice cream-- Two steps more to the left if you touch the air high up an ice cream will drop down. --Life-- Soon after this is a rope leading upwards. Go up here and then right, you will encounter 3 ice blocks and a hole in the ceiling. Pogo on the ice to the left side of the ceiling then continue on left. When you come to a halt press up to climb a rope offscreen. Then stand on the block of ice to the left and jump to make the life appear. --Ice cream-- Right before you enter the boss room, jump. ------------- African Mines ------------- --Ice cream-- Soon after the broken down elevator is a chest containing ice cream. --2 Ice creams and a life-- After going down the elevator go to the right to meet Mrs. Beakley for these items. --3 Ice creams-- Minecart section after ducking for a low ceiling stop ducking on time to get it. Same section after the ducking the next time is another stop ducking on time to get it. You'll have to jump on a upper or lower minecart, the upper one has an ice cream above the track. --Ice cream-- Near the boss before the only red crystal in the game that just lies there already which triggers the boss fight. Right before a little ledge. -------- The Moon -------- --Ice cream-- Above the first assembly of rocks, touch the air and it will drop down. --2 Ice creams and a life-- In the top right section of the level you'll find a spot where you can head left and come across 3 flying squid aliens. In the room above here you'll find Mrs. Beakley who gives these to you. --Life-- All the way in the top left of the level you'll find a chest with a life in it. --Ice cream-- Bottom right of the level after Gizmoduck cleared the way for you. Go past some rooms with beagle boys and in the bottom right corner of the stage an ice cream will appear if you touch the air ---------- The Amazon ---------- --Ice cream-- Right after the first vine, don't go down but continue onward a little bit you'll see a chest that contains ice cream. You can skip it for now though as you may not need it. --Ice cream-- Helicopter section. The first time you can get off there will be 2 seperate rocks. Ignore those and look for the next 2 seperate rocks. On the second one of those two ice cream will appear if you touch the air. --Ice cream-- Helicopter section. The third part where you can get off on the seperate rock right after the first flesh-eating flower. --2 Ice creams and a life-- After the helicopter section and after the boulder chasing you there's a rope above you. Pogo onto it and continue down this path to meet Mrs. Beakley. --Ice cream-- Right after dropping down from where Mrs. Beakley was get on top of the first rock you see and jump to make it appear. --Life-- After heading right and up one screen there's two chests on the right, the one on the right contains a life. --Ice cream-- After climbing up the rope that hangs above spiked vines, there's a chest there that contains ice cream. (this is right before the boss) -------------- Mount Vesuvius -------------- --Ice cream-- In the dark section take the lower route. You'll come across a boulder you can swing your cane at to make it fly diagonally. First touch the upper right corner there to make the chest appear then hit the boulder. If you accidentally destroy the boulder walk left and then back right to make it re-appear (before making the chest appear because otherwise the chest disappears and doesn't come back) --Life-- After the last dark section with the boulders rolling on the spikes. After climbing up the rope go to the top left. Some squares will disappear as you get close to them. 4 chests are here, the bottom right one containing the life. --Ice cream-- After this is a short minecart section. The ice cream will be floating you'll have to jump to get it. --Ice cream-- Next minecart section. Right after ducking for a low ceiling jump to get this ice cream.
