Infinite Climax difficulty, all Pure Platinums 2. No items. 3. Only Evil Harvest Rosary, Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, and Gaze of Despair accessories allowed. Gaze of Despair equipped at all times (so far). 4. No gameplay altering costumes. 5. Avoid farming magic outside of verses by entering/exiting areas. Strategies are mainly by myself, not by reading/watching other guides or videos. I02: General Advice Bayonetta: Pros: Can activate WT by dodging Cons: Can only dodge 5 times in a row before stopping Jeanne: Pros: Weaves do more damage, can dodge endless times in a row Cons: Can only activate WT using Moth Within (equivalent to Bat Within) Rosa: Pros: All attacks deal more damage, can summon Umbran Armor without the accessory Cons: Takes more damage when hit, can only use her Onyx Roses style shotgun weapons, can't use Umbran Climax Purchase Bat Within as soon as possible from Rodin's Shop. It's one of the best survival tools in the game. Grab attacks cannot be avoided with Bat Within, making them particularly dangerous. Most grab attacks can be broken out of by activating Umbran Climax. Sometimes you can avoid taking damage by using Umbran Climax right after being grabbed. Adjusting the camera distance can help depending on the verse. Zoom in against smaller humanoid enemies, and zoom out against large sized enemies. Executing an enemy always drops its weapon if it has one to drop. The amount of Witch Time you get varies on the enemy attack dodged. Enemy projectile attacks tend to give longer WT than melee attacks. You can dodge out of most attacks recovery frames to shorten recovery time. Very useful with slower weapons. Riding a hammer wielding Accolade always drops its weapon. Press Y while the hammer Accolade is dizzy to hop on. Gaze of Despair/taunt effect on enemies: More damage dealt, attack speed increase, attack frequency increase, extra hitstun protection, dodges and parries your attacks more often. Combo points increased 1.5x. Getting a high combo score: Combo timer lasts 6 seconds before dropping. Taunt can briefly extend the timer and keep your combo going between different parts of a verse. Don't Torture Attack stronger enemies at high HP, get combo points out of their lifebar and then TA them at low health. Don't use big AOE weapons that deal a lot of damage to a lot of enemies at once but low combo points. You get extra combo points during witch time or when hitting an enraged enemy. Alfheims have a separate magic and health meter from the main story areas. You always start with 0 magic and full health and don't keep any angel weapons. Leaving an Alfheim resumes your previous health/magic/angel weapon. Some angel/demon weapons may be faster if you jump and fire them in the air. I03: Weapon Review Definitions: Range = The weapon's length from Bayonetta to the enemy Area Coverage = The weapon's radius size surrounding Bayonetta on most attacks Stopping Power = The weapon's ability to halt enemies and/or keep them from doing anything Weave = General term for the ending attack of any combo chain. (The K in PPPPK for example) UC = Umbran Climax, which temporarily gives a weapon better stats and weaves on all attacks WT = Witch Time Shuraba (katana): Shuraba returns to Bayonetta 2, but it's not as useful as before. Its still fast, but its damage, range, and stopping power are outclassed by the newer weapons. Still a decent weapon in most situations, but not great. Pros: Fast, decent overall weapon Cons: Average, outclassed by most newer weapons Rakshasa (dual swords): It's basically a Shuraba that sacrifices damage for greater speed. Pros: Very fast Cons: Outclassed by weapons in other categories (range, area coverage, stopping power, etc.) Undine (flamethrower): A weapon that can torch or freeze enemies. Unfortunately neither of those effects are very useful. It takes a while to freeze all but the smallest enemies and the freeze blast damage is poor. You can use it as a standard weapon (ignoring the freeze/flame blasts), but it's still outclassed by most other weapons. Pros: Fun to play around with freezing enemies, decent overall weapon Cons: Average, outclassed by most other weapons Chernobog (scythe): Its P-hold shotgun attack fires 3 strong projectiles, which does a ton of damage if they all connect. This is perfect against larger sized enemies where 2-3 shots land every time. Its slow speed isn't great against smaller enemies, and it has mediocre stopping power against them. Wicked Scythes have good area coverage but are slow to come out. It's decent against smaller enemies, just not great. Pros: P-hold shotgun is great against large sized enemies Cons: Slow, mediocre stopping power against small sized enemies Salamandra (chainsaw): It can deal a lot of damage without needing to get weaves out, and it has decent stopping power against small enemies. On the other hand its range and area coverage are poor. A good weapon, but overrated. Its Umbran Climax makes the chainsaw larger, although nowhere near enough to call it long range. It's a mediocre UC because it drains the magic bar very fast. Pros: Good damage w/o the need for weaves, decent stopping power against small enemies Cons: Poor range and area coverage, UC is mediocre Takemikazuchi (hammer): A very slow but powerful hammer, with great damage and stopping power. Its main use is charging up an attack, starting a verse, then dropping the hammer on the nearest enemy as it appears. Executing the level 2 charge temporarily electrifies the hammer which gives it even greater stopping power. You can drop a level 2 P charge then finish the PPPP combo for a ton of damage against a smaller enemy. It also has decent range and area coverage. Its Umbran Climax gives it among the best damage and stopping power, with good range and area coverage. Its slowness is still a problem against faster enemies even in UC, though. It's not very useful outside of those two situations, making it a specialized weapon best used sparingly. Pros: Great for opening a verse with a charge attack or for Umbran Climax, incredible damage and stopping power Cons: Very slow, not a good general purpose weapon Alruna (whip): A whip with good range, great area coverage, and the ability to lasso most enemies during WT by holding P/K. The lasso ability is very useful as a form of crowd control or getting in extra damage. It's best used against fast enemies to halt their attack spam, although it works on most large enemies too. Against multiple enemies Bayo can lasso one enemy then focus on the other enemies. Bayo usually needs to be on the ground and in WT to successfully lasso. Its Umbran Climax gives enormous range and area coverage, and the ability to lasso enemies outside of WT. This is one of the best UCs to spend your magic on. The lasso usually doesn't work outside of WT, making it difficult for Jeanne to take advantage of, unless you have impeccable Moth Within timing. Pros: Fast, good range and area coverage, good UC, lasso damage and crowd control Cons: Average damage, poor stopping power outside of the lasso Kafka (bow): A weak bow weapon that does about as much damage as the Y gun. Unlike other weapons, very dodgy enemies like Lumen, Prophet, Sloth, etc. won't dodge its regular arrow attacks, making it perfect against them. It's decent against long range targets, but poor in most other situations. It's UC makes all of its attacks into swarms, which is useless against Lumen, etc. and its damage is still weak. Pros: Long range, can pelt Lumen, Prophet, Sloth, etc. outside of WT Cons: Weak damage, UC is pretty much useless Y Shot (single gun): Hold Y for Bayonetta's single gun attack. You can mash Y for more damage, or hold Y until charge attack is ready. Mash Y during the charge attack window to fire more charge shots than normal. You need to buy the charge attack ability at Rodin's Shop first. Charge attack can do a decent amount of damage, making it a viable strategy against enemies that are dangerous in melee range. Unlike the Kafka, you can move while constantly firing, making it more useful than the bow in some fights. Some Nintendo themed costumes make the Y shot even more powerful, perhaps overpowered. Pros: Long range, decent damage for a "free" weapon, can keep a combo chain going, can move while firing Cons: Everything else Chain Chomp: A slow leg weapon. It can fire enemy seeking projectiles with its weave attacks. I didn't find much use for it other than Chapter 3. Pros: Enemy seeking projectiles Cons: Slow, won't stop barking Scarborough Fair (red guns): The classic gun weapon from Bayonetta 1. It wasn't great in Bayonetta 1 and it's even more outclassed in Bayonetta 2 against more powerful foes. Don't believe the description reading "its stopping power is incredible", it can barely stop anything. Pros: Very fast Cons: Outclassed by weapons in other categories (range, area coverage, stopping power, etc.) Love is Blue (blue guns): About the same performance as the Scarborough Fair. Pros: Very fast Cons: Outclassed by weapons in other categories (range, area coverage, stopping power, etc.) Handguns: It's the Scarborough Fair without any weaves attached. Easily the weakest weapon in the game. I'm pretty sure with this weapon equipped on arms+legs it's impossible to do enough damage in enough time to get platinum damage+time medals on some verses. Pros: Fast Cons: All the cons of Scarborough Fair + it has no weaves I04: Non-Boss Enemy Advice Acceptance: Weak horse angel that uses a ranged harp or spear. Target these early as they die pretty quickly. Normal attacks: Spear slashes, ranged harp fire, and hindleg kicks. Special attacks: The harp Acceptance sometimes fires arrows into the air, then the ground under Bayo lights up and the arrows land. Very easy to spot and dodge. Accolade: Stronger horse angel that uses dual swords, a shield, a hammer, or a spear. Dual sword Accolades are the fastest and most threatening Accolade, try to lasso or lock them down. Normal attacks: Sword swipes, hind leg kicks, etc. Special attacks: At close range it sometimes swipes upward into the air, then stabs its way back down. At long range it will charge or throw its swords. Shield Accolades will block your attacks if they piece the shield together. Weave attacks will break their guard and allow you to press Y to counter and knock them down. Their main threat is making you drop your combo or taking too long to kill. Normal attacks: Shield bashes, swipes, etc. Special attacks: It sometimes bashes Bayo with the shield and interrupts her, but does no damage. Hammer Accolades are the slowest and least threatening. If you dizzy one you can press Y to ride it, then move around using P to swing the hammer against other angels. It always drops its hammer after Bayo rides it. Normal attacks: Hammer swings, hind leg kicks, etc. Special attacks: Nothing in particular Spear Accolades are an average threat, in between hammer and dual swords. Normal attacks: Spear swipes, hind leg kicks, etc. Special attacks: Nothing in particular Allegience: The strongest horse angel wielding a flaming sword and shield. Most of its sword attacks are fast with long range and area coverage. It can break its shield into fragments and throw them at Bayo. The Y gun can clear the fragments quickly before they're thrown. Normal attacks: Long range/area sword swipes. The sword is extensible and has no problem covering an area. Special attacks: 1. Puts its sword in the ground, then it emerges under Bayo 3 times. 2. Breaks its shield into fragments that circle around, then fire at Bayo. Fidelity: A water based angel with slash attacks. If it's encountered underwater it lays exploding mines around the area. It has low HP and is easily locked down. Normal attacks: Tail lashes and slashes. Special attacks: 1. Lays exploding mines underwater. 2. At mid-long range it tries to grab Bayo and stab her. Urbane/Veritas: A large sized angel with flaming or freezing orbs for hands. It has a lot of HP but slow easy to dodge attacks. Belief: A large sized angel with a whip. Like Urbane it's pretty slow and easy to read. It has a grab attack but rarely uses it. Normal attacks: A series of whip lashes and kicks. Special attacks: 1. Drops slime out of its face that locks Bayo down. 2. A whip grab used at about mid-range, not up close. Stay up close so it doesn't try grabbing. Enrapture: A small angel that can enrage its allies, fire projectiles, or steal Bayo's magic. Very low HP and meant to be targeted first. Cachet & Compassion: Cachet can dive into the ground then emerge under Bayo. Pay attention and don't get surprised. Affinity: Low level angel equipped with a trumpet, flail, or staff. Applaud: Mid level angel with a staff or bow. Fearless & Fairness: Hound-like angels that bite, grab, and claw. Fearless can snipe with its tail at long range, and Fairness can spit fireballs. Watch out for their fast grabbing lunges. Grace & Glory: Very fast clawed angels. These guys are just as dangerous as before, almost as bad as the Joys that don't appear in Bayo 2. Beloved: Giant angel with an axe. Slow and not too dangerous, although it has a grab attack to watch out for. Kinship: A ship angel that fires lasers and rockets. It has limited appearences in Bayo 2 and you can pretty much ignore it or run past it. Inspired: A snake angel rarely seen in Bayonetta 2. It mostly tries to lunge and bite. Pain & Pride: Large metal shaped demons that charge and swing with their gear arms/legs. They're pretty fast despite their size. Hideous: Despite being a 'low rung' demon, Hideous are very fast, attack frequently, and take a good amount of punishment. They come equipped with a scythe, shotgun, or twin blades. The scythe and twin blade Hideous are about the same, lots of fast swipes at Bayo. The shotgun Hideous is more dangerous with long range shotgun blasts and fast attacks up close. Listen carefully for the "enemy attack" noise because they fire from off screen. Hatred: A larger form of Hideous with a dual bladed scythe. It has more elaborate combos and more health than the Scythe Hideous. Fury: A small, weak flying demon. It fires orbs that cause slowdown. Mostly harmless, although it has fast swipes up close. Greed: A hound demon with heads on both ends of its body. The flame heads spit fire and grab, and the ice head fires a long range cone of frost that can freeze Bayo. It's grab lunge is very fast and particularly dangerous. Malicious: A winged demon that can lock Bayo down, enrage its allies, and charge/swipe. It has fairly low HP. Resentment: A snake-like demon that can swipe, grab, and fire a de-ageing beam. Its swipes and tail grabs are fast and dangerous. It has two grabs, one where it tries to coil around Bayo, and one where it simply lashes its tail out in front of it. If Bayo is grabbed or hit by the de-ageing beam, use Umbran Climax to break free or try to get away. If caught while de-aged Bayo dies instantly. Resentment is sometimes best dealt with from the air where it can't grab Bayo as easily. Sloth: A demon with four arms and six swords. Very fast and dangerous with elaborate combos. It has above average hit-stun protection and dodging ability, almost like a boss enemy. Best attacked at range with Kafka/Y Gun and lassoed with Alruna during Witch Time. I05: Main Story Walkthrough * = Missable Verse 3C = 3rd Climax difficulty mode IC = Infinite Climax difficulty mode Combo points and time listed are for Infinite Climax Platinum only. Prologue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPdsjbk3eQI P01V01 3C - Acceptance, Accolade IC - Acceptance, Fidelity, Urbane, Accolade, Allegience 03:50, ~580000 Enemies in this verse never dodge or parry even on IC, unlike the other times you encounter them. Use taunt to keep up combo between cutscenes. Phase 1: On IC you fight some Acceptance, a Fidelity, then more Acceptance and an Urbane. Urbane can barely fit on the jet so there's little room to maneuver. Try adjusting the camera zoom outward. Watch out for the Acceptance trying to poke Bayo while dealing with the Urbane. Urbane tends to kill most of the Acceptance on his own by friendly fire. Phase 2: Still on the jet with a rotating cycle of enemy spawns. On IC the first phase has 3x Acceptance, 1x Fidelity. IC second phase has 6x Acceptance, 1x Urbane. IC third phase has infinitely spawning enemies. IC Spawn cycle: 2x Acceptance, 1x Hammer Accolade. 2x Acceptance, 1x Spear Accolade. 2x Acceptance, 1x Sword Accolade. 2x Acceptance, 1x Allegiance. After the Allegiance, you get 2x Acceptance and 1x Spear Accolade repeatedly until the cycle resets. Enemies spawn infinitely after the first two cutscenes. After some time, an unkillable Glamor will fly nearby and attack once, usually killing all enemies and damaging Bayo if she doesn't dodge. This also resets the enemy spawn cycle to Hammer Accolade. You may end up facing two Accoaldes at once. After some more time the Glamor attacks again from the side, destroying all enemies, slicing up the jet, and damaging Bayo again if she doesn't dodge. Jump across the broken jet pieces to end the verse. P01V02 3C/IC - Belief 02:15, 72750 Phase 1: Dodge during the cutscene to start the fight with witch time. The Belief will start clinging to the train, trying to swipe at Bayo. After beating it up it a bit, it falls behind and latches onto the train by its whip. A weave will break its grip, but it's easier to use Salamandra and get as much damage as possible. You can deal enough damage to avoid fighting it while it runs alongside the train altogether. Phase 2: After dealing enough damage, a cutscene happens and you continue fighting on ground. It's a standard Belief fight at this point, other than a special Punish with Jeanne. Dodge its whip lashes and slime and finish it off. P01V03 3C/IC - Gomorrah 02:50, 113750 Phase 1: Gomorrah starts out with bites, swipes, fireball projectiles, and flame breath. He's pretty slow and easy to dodge. Use enough weaves on him and a Punish prompt appears, smashing his head into the building. In between Phase 1 and 2 use Y Gun or ranged attacks to keep combo up. Phase 2: At the top of the tower Gomorrah adds tail lashes and an inhale attack. You can tell he's about to tail lash when he starts circling around the tower. His inhale attack is very hard to get away from unless you use an Umbran Climax to cancel it. Save a full magic bar in case he uses it once (or twice). Again you can Punish him with enough weaves. Chapter 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOURJlveI0Y *C01V01 - In the courtyard to the left of the temple entrance. Muspelheim: Timed battle. 3C - 1x Accolade IC - 1x Allegiance 00:18, 1230 On IC, 18 seconds is a tight limit to kill an Allegiance. Use a hammer charge PPPP + Evil Harvest Rosary for extra damage. If it parries too many of your attacks, try again. C01V02 - Circular area underwater. 3C - ?x Compassion IC - 2x Fidelity 00:40, 1230 There are many verses where you fight 2-3 Fidelity enemies. They're pretty easy to take down so try varying weapons to make things more interesting. *C01V03 - Behind the stairs underwater. Muspelheim: Only damage during witch time. 3C - 3x Compassion, 2x Acceptance IC - 1x Sword Accolade, 1x Enrapture 00:50, 960 Leave the Enrapture alive during this fight. Dodge its ranged orbs for a lengthy Witch Time, then lasso or chainsaw the Sword Accolade. Once the Enrapture is on its own it's easy pickings. *C01V04 - After you jump out of the water, walk backwards to the open square. 3C - ?x Acceptance, ?x Compassion IC - Acceptance, Fidelity 00:28, 1680 Two of the weakest angel types in the game, easy to pick apart with whatever weapons. *C01V05 - Underwater in The Cascade Foregrounds near the temple doors. You can complete verse 6 first and still enter. Muspelheim: Defeat enemies to earn time. 3C - ?x Compassion, 1x Acceptance IC - 4x Compassion, 1x Belief, 4x Compassion, 1x Shield Accolade 01:40, 43130 Start with area attacks to clear out the Compassion, then finish off the belief. Use the magic built up on the Belief to execute the Shield Accolade if you're low on time, or just use Umbran Climax and beat it up. C01V06 - The Cascade Foregrounds main square. 3C - 2x Spear Accolade, ?x Acceptance, ?x Compassion IC - 1x Spear Accolade, ?x Acceptance, 1x Gravitas 01:30, 60710 You start out fighting a Spear Accolade and two Spear Acceptance. Lift and throw the side pillars at them for fun. A Gravitas shows up next that will probably destroy all the pillars with its swings. C01V07 - Walk up into the portal. 3C/IC - Valiance 01:30, 38400 Large sized boss with fast sword attacks. It has a rare grab attack but mostly swings its sword around. If you dizzy it, the sword drops to the ground. You probably get extra damage by attacking the face on the sword. *C01V08 - On the right side of the church ledge before jumping down. Muspelheim: Don't get hit. 3C - ?x Compassion, ?x Cachet IC - 1x Sword Accolade, 2x Enrapture 00:45, 1330 Enrapture is easy to kill. Sword Accolades are always fast and annoying so be ready. Fast weapons to interrupt it during WT are preferred. C01V09 - Jump off the church ledge to the bottom floor. 3C - ?x Compassion, ?x Cachet IC - 6x Compassion, 1x Cachet, 2x Fidelity 00:52, 7660 Your first fight with Cachet. It starts out charging at Bayo. Watch out for it diving into the ground and emerging under Bayo. C01V10 - Move forward into the open square. 3C - ?x Compassion, 2x Cachet, 2x Sword Accolade, ?x Acceptance, 1x Urbane IC - 1x Shield Accolade, 1x Hammer Accolade, 2x Urbane 02:30, 168000 Soften up the Shield Accolade a bit with a hammer charge, then beat up the Hammer Accolade until it's dizzy. Ride it then finish off the Shield Accolade and you get a hammer weapon for free. Next, finish off the Urbanes. I usually use Umbran Climax + hammer to kill Urbane/Gravitas quickly, otherwise the fight can drag on. *C01V11 - Backtrack to the bottom level of the church. 3C - 2x Spear Accolade IC - 2x Sword Accolade 00:45, 2930 Move in with a hammer charge then switch to a faster weapon to finish them off. Using the Urbane's angel weapon is a good idea. *C01V12 - Move forward past the Gates of Hell portal towards the bridge, then jump into the far end of the water. 3C - 1x Sword Accolade IC - 3x Compassion, 1x Spear Accolade 00:35, 1850 Easy underwater verse. Spear Accolades are nowhere near as threatening as Sword ones. C01V13 - Follow Loki. 3C/IC - Glamor 02:10, 23000 Phase 1: Glamor bites and lunges at Bayo from afar. Use ranged weapons or Y gun to keep up the combo. After dealing enough damage Glamor breaks up the stage and fights up close in phase 2. Phase 2: Glamor fights up close swiping, biting, and firing ice shards. The ice shards can be parried with good timing and positioning, or just dodge them. Use the whip or Y Gun to keep damaging him when his face/claws aren't close enough for short range weapons. Chapter 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6NM6Xl3hNI *C02V01 - Alleyway to the right of the bridge. Muspelheim: Use enemy arms. 3C - Accolade, Acceptance IC - 1x Belief 00:35, 1680 Timing is pretty close against the Belief in this verse. Don't waste any time picking up and firing angel weapons. Some angel/demon weapons may be faster if you jump and fire them in the air. C02V02 - Main square. 3C - 2x Enrapture, ?x Acceptance IC - 1x Enrapture, 1x Gravitas 01:15, 19950 Pick off the Enrapture, then wear down the Gravitas as usual. *C02V03 - Once Loki summons the tidal wave, dodge it and then turn around and run backwards to the main square. 3C - 1x Sword Accolade, 3x Enrapture IC - 2x Enrapture, ?x Compassion 00:35, 1870 Use a fast weapon with good area coverage like Alruna to make quick work of the Enraptures. *C02V04 - Run through the tidal wave and go through the door. Once you see the "Room of Prayer" location text appear, backtrack through the door to the courtyard. 3C - 4x Acceptance, 1x Spear Accolade IC - 4x Accolade (one of each weapon type), 1x Allegiance, 1x Acceptance 01:35, 30030 It's easy to get overwhelmed on IC by so many horses. Start with an UC hammer charge to soften them up, then switch to something with heavy crowd control and area coverage like Alruna. C02V05 - Go through the door and up the stairs onto the landing. 3C - 2x Hammer Accolade IC - 1x Allegiance 00:30, 1230 Just like the Chapter 1 Muspelheim, open with a hammer charge then finish it with Evil Harvest dodges and damage during WT. *C02V06 - Backtrack down the stairs and destroy both coffins on either side of the hallway. 3C - 1x Spear, 1x Hammer, 1x Sword Accolade IC - 1x Sword Accolade, 2x Enrapture 00:45, 1330 Pick off the Enraptures (they spawn at either ends of the room), then finish off the Sword Accolade. C02V07 - Jump through the portal and continue up the wall. 3C - 1x Hammer Accolade, 2x Enrapture IC - 2x Harp Accolade, 1x Allegiance 00:45, 3750 Hammer charge the Allegiance, as usual it's a dangerous enemy. Use the Harp Accolades for WT while dealing with the Allegiance. C02V08 - Continue walking up the wall. 3C/IC - 1x Belief 01:10, 17190 A lone Belief to beat up. It doesn't have any special attacks on this verse. *C02V09 - On the wall ledge before jumping down. Muspelheim: Single combo. 3C - ?x Compassion, ?x Cachet, ?x Enrapture IC - 3x Enrapture, 1x Urbane 01:05, 10500 The Enraptures can be annoying and they spawn at opposite corners of the stage. Use Alruna to lasso or whip the Enraptures then switch to something more damaging to finish off the Urbane. Chapter 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ8p9pL5M8w C03V01 3C/IC - Glamor 07:10, 43130 Phase 1: Dodge the water debris and dodge/counter Glamor when it surfaces to attack. Use the Y Gun, Chain Chomp projectiles, and parry its projectiles to do maximum damage during this phase. Phase 2: First kill the two side Glamors. They have the usual assortment of bites, swipes, and ice projectiles. Next take on the main Glamor with the same health bar from Phase 1. It plays keepaway so use ranged attacks (Y Gun mainly) and successfully dodge to get closer. Chapter 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIMRGmwfVrA C04V01 - Walk forward on the rooftops. 3C - 1x Fidelity IC - 2x Fidelity 00:25, 1230 Another Fidelity fight. They should have thrown like 10 of them at you on IC. *C04V02 - Take a right and jump from the rooftops to the bridge fragment. 3C - 1x Fidelity, ?x Acceptance IC - 2x Fidelity, ?x Acceptance, 2x Spear Accolade 01:00, 19950 Not much room to maneuver and lots of angry enemies. Weapons with good area coverage (Alruna, Chernobog) can help. Try not to knock too many enemies off the stage or your combo score will suffer. C04V03 - Continue left across the clock tower. 3C - ?x Compassion, 1x Shield Accolade IC - ?x Compassion, ?x Acceptance 00:50, 4820 If you have a Spear Accolade angel weapon you can finish the stage in seconds. Otherwise use Alruna PKP to kill everything quickly. *C04V04 - On the wall of the church foundation (walk sideways), before going through the doors. Muspelheim: Single combo challenge. 3C - 2x Acceptance, 1x Shield Accolade, ?x Compassion IC - 2x Shield Accolade 01:00, 1230 Use hammer charges and weaves to break the Shield Accolade's guard, then Counter and finish them off. C04V05 - Go through the church doors. 3C/IC - 1x Urbane 01:20, 17190 Can dodge during cutscene for starting witch time. It's an Urbane. If you're on IC you've fought many of these before, take it out with the usual high damage weapons (Salamandra or Chernobog P charges). *C04V06 - After the cutscene with Loki, turn right into the alcove, then go back onto the main street. 3C - 2x Fidelity IC - 2x Fidelity 00:40, 1230 Another filler verse against some Fidelity angels. Use different weapons for style points and keep things interesting. C04V07 - Jump down and walk up the church wall. 3C - ?x Compassion IC - ?x Compassion 00:30, 1290 Filler verse against some Compassion angels. Use Handguns or something to make things more interesting. *C04V08 - Jump down onto the city street, then turn left and destroy the bench with the two lovers on it. 3C - 2x Shield Accolade IC - 1x Sword Accolade, 1x Shield Accolade 00:30, 3090 Start with a hammer charge then kill the Sword Accolade first. 30 seconds likely isn't enough time to finish the Shield Accolade, so Torture Attack it if possible. C04V09 - Continue forward into the square. 3C/IC - Masked Lumen 04:40, 43130 Lumen is one of the fastest and most dangerous bosses in the game, especially if you're trying to avoid taking any damage. Lumen has lots of blade slash combos both on the ground and in the air. At range he launches fireballs, erupts the ground under Bayo, summons angel attacks, and transforms into a wolf to chase down Bayo. Up close he tends to spam his blade slash and occasionally summon an angel attack. Phase 1: Easiest strategy is fire Kafka or Y Gun while dodging or parrying, then use Alruna to lasso him during Witch Time. If he turns into a wolf dodge the attack then counter with chainsaw. Phase 2: Lumen summons a Fortitudo to fight alongside him. Occasionally he charges up a Fortutido lava attack that hits the entire screen. Attack him to break him out of it. If you have the Gaze equipped on IC, it's very hard or impossible to break him out of it, so be ready to dodge the lava wave. Phase 3: The fight goes airborne. Alruna can't lasso while Bayo is in the air, so it's not very useful here. Play keepaway using Y Gun ranged damage while dodging. Lumen still charges up angel attacks but they're easier to dodge on this phase. Phase 4: You briefly control Madama Butterfly to punch the crap out of the enemy angel. Dodge its punches and beam attacks. Chapter 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYNeDJEZIHY C05V01 - Move forward underwater. 3C - 2x Fidelity IC - 4x Fidelity 00:45, 5880 Many Fidelity enemies underwater. If you don't kill them quickly they spread out and lay mines everywhere. Use hammer charge + Alruna for high damage, long range, and area coverage. *C05V02 - After crossing past the large arches underwater, turn right. Resurface on the other side and jump onto the small island. Muspelheim: Witch time disabled. 3C - Compassion, Fidelity IC - 3x Shield Accolade 01:20, 10500 Even with 3 Shield Accolades, the strategy is generally the same. Use hammer charge/weaves to break their guard, Counter them, then finish them off while they're knocked down. *C05V03 - Move forward underwater then swim down to the dead end. 3C - Fidelity IC - 3x Fidelity, 3x Acceptance 00:45, 5880 Underwater Fidelity are slightly more annoying, but still not much of a threat. Finish these guys with whatever weapons. C05V04 - Jump out of the water, move to the center of the arena and activate the device. 3C/IC - Pain 01:20, 17190 Get used to fighting Pain/Pride, there's a lot of them on IC. Use a high powered weapon like Chernobog/Salamandra to kill it quickly while dodging its melee attacks. *C05V05 - Once the arena is filled with water, swim up midway then enter the small side passage. Muspelheim: Don't touch the ground. 3C - ?x Compassion IC - 2x Cachet, ?x Compassion 01:00, 1680 Stay airborne by leaping off enemies' heads and hitting P to charge upward mid-air (requires a purchase of Witch Strike and/or Witch Twist at Rodin's Shop). Use a high powered weapon with good area coverage to kill the Cachets quickly (hammer or chernobog). *C05V06 - Exit the water, then jump back in and swim to the bottom of the arena. 3C - Fidelity IC - ?x Fidelity, ?x Compassion 01:15, 8750 Another filler fight against angels you've killed a dozen times before. Use whatever weapon to make it stylish. *C05V07 - Exit the water then turn right into the corner. 3C - Compassion, Cachet IC - 1x Enrapture, 3x Hammer Accolade 00:40, 12480 It's easy to beat down the Hammer Accolades and ride one of them for a free hammer. *C05V08 - Move up to the top of the stairs. Muspelheim: Timed battle. 3C - Compassion, Enrapture IC - 1x Belief 00:26, 5880 Equip Evil Harvest Rosary and use high powered weapons to kill the Belief quickly. C05V09 - Walk towards the device with Loki. 3C - Enrapture, Acceptance, Compassion, Cachet IC - Acceptance, Compassion, Cachet, Allegiance 02:50, 23000 A fight on a rotating orb. Try not to get disoriented or lose track of enemies or you'll drop your combo. The Allegiance at the end is fast and dangerous as usual, but an angel weapon or UC can kill it quickly. C05V10 - Finish Verse 9 3C/IC - Run from the enemy. 00:45, 20 Run away, dodge when the Veritas attacks, and press L1 to fire an attack when the magic gauge is full. C05V11 - Finish Verse 10 3C - 1x Gravitas, 1x Urbane IC - 1x Gravitas, 1x Urbane, 1x Belief 03:20, 406350 A royal rumble against 3 big angels. Use strong weapons + Umbran Climax and maybe Evil Harvest Rosary to finish them quickly, so the fight doesn't drag on too long. You can get a huge combo score from this verse w/ Gaze equipped. Chapter 6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sStdJ204xyg C06V01 3C/IC - Valor 03:10, 26360 Phase 1: Valor will mostly swipe and charge at Bayo. Sometimes he moves outside the tunnel then stabs at Bayo. The stab can be dodged. If it's not dodged you have to perform a QTE to survive. Use Chernobog P charges and Y Gun to keep up the damage. Phase 2: The fight moves underwater. Valor swipes and charges, throws his shield like a boomerang, and puts his shield up as a parry guard. You can break his parry guard by using UC attacks. Once its health is almost gone, it will swing at Bayo with a X+A climax prompt to finish it off. Overall a pretty short and easy fight that probably shouldn't be its own chapter. Chapter 7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sStdJ204xyg C07V01 - Right after starting the chapter. 3C/IC - Insidious 03:50, 72750 Insidious uses a combination of laser beams, whip lashes, missile swarms, and bites. If it pushes Bayo away, use Y Gun while closing back in. Beat up each eye while dodging missiles in between. The laser beams and lashes can be unpredictable and difficult to time, especially in the last part of the fight. C07V02 - Keep moving forward. 3C - 1x Hatred, 2x Shotgun Hideous IC - 1x Hatred, 2x Shotgun Hideous, 1x Resentment 01:05, 17190 Your first fight against Hatred and Hideous, with a Resentment thrown in for fun. Kill one Hideous quickly, then dodge the other Hideous' shotgun blasts while using the WT to finish off the Hatred. Use Alruna's lasso to crowd control and keep from being overwhelmed. Kill the remaining Hideous then deal with the Resentment. I executed the Resentment because the Hideous and Hatred were annoying enough on this verse. Otherwise, attack it from the air to reduce the risk of being grabbed. C07V03 - Keep moving forward. 3C - Fury IC - Fury 00:25, 880 Furies are like compassions or dears. Weak flying enemies that die easily. *C07V04 - Right after finishing Verse 3, turn around and take the (left) side passage to a dead end. Muspelheim: Use witch time. 3C - Hideous IC - 2x Shotgun Hideous, 1x Hatred 01:50, 2240 You start out against a Hatred. Get its health low enough and two Shotgun Hideous join in. Finish the Hatred quickly, execute one of the Hideous, then finish the remaining Hideous. C07V05 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Masked Lumen 03:40, 17190 Phase 1: Another fight against the Lumen. He's more annoying than last time because he sometimes leaps back from melee range instead of spamming blade slash combos. He has a few new moves like time slow circles, more projectiles, and stronger angel attacks. Again use Kafka or Y Gun outside of WT, then lasso him with Alruna during WT. Phase 2: Once again he summons a large angel to attack alongside him, and starts charging up angel attacks against Bayo. Hit him to break him out of it. Occasionally he charges at Bayo with a Y Counter prompt. Hit Y in time and Bayo will deal some free damage to him. This is one of the most difficult verses in the game to avoid taking damage due to Lumen's extremely fast and unpredictable movement and attacks. Chapter 8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXBfrRV9Nbk C08V01 - Follow Loki. 3C - 1x Greed IC - 1x Greed, 2x Hideous 00:55, 5880 Greed is accompanied by two Hideous. Chainsaw Greed then switch to Alruna for crowd control once the Hideous arrive. Finish the Greed then deal with the Hideous using the same weapons. *C08V02 - Move halfway up the stairs. Jump onto the ledge to the left just before the giant arch, then enter the small storage room. Muspelheim: Use enemy arms. 3C - 3x Hideous, 1x Greed IC - 1x Pain 01:20, 1680 Another enemy arms verse with little room for error. Dodge Pain's constant attacks while picking up and firing weapons. Some arms like the Pain wheel may fire faster from the air. C08V03 - Keep following Loki. 3C - 4x Hideous IC - 1x Hatred 00:50, 1230 1x Hatred is way easier than 4x Hideous, especially on IC where Hideous attacks relentlessly. Deal with the Hatred any way you see fit, it's not a huge threat on its own. C08V04 - Keep following Loki. 3C/IC - Golem #1 02:10, 38400 Golem continually changes forms, although it doesn't have any particular special attacks. Phase 1: The golem spins around, charges, and fires lasers. The laser fire is very fast and hard to dodge on reaction. Phase 2: The golem changes shape into a sword weapon of some sort. It swipes and thrusts at Bayo pretty quickly. Keep dodging and finish it off. C08V05 - Keep following Loki through the portal. 3C - 1x Enrapture, ?x Compassion, 1x Allegiance IC - 1x Sword Accolade, ?x Compassion, 2x Allegiance 01:35, 26730 Start with a hammer charge to clear out the compassions, then finish off the Sword Accolade with the charged hammer. Next you're up against two Allegiances. This fight can get out of control very quickly if they start throwing shield fragments and spamming ranged attacks or ground eruptions. Easiest strat is hit UC with the hammer and beat them down, then finish them off with Alruna while crowd controlling. *C08V06 - Follow Loki through the portal out of Paradiso, then backtrack to the start of the chapter. 3C - 2x Hatred IC - 4x Fury, 1x Hatred 00:50, 4730 Use Alruna or Chernobog PKP to clear out the Furies quickly, then deal with the Hatred however you like. C08V07 - Keep following Loki to the large circular area. 3C - 2x Hideous, 1x Greed IC - 4x Fury, 1x Sloth 01:10, 7220 Use Alruna or Chernobog PKP to clear out the Furies quickly, then deal with the Sloth. Sloth is most easily dealt with by firing Kafka or Y Gun at range, then lassoing with Alruna during WT, and maybe Torture Attacking at low HP for good measure. *C08V08 - Move towards the next portal but don't enter it. Instead jump to the right then float to the left to land on the ledge behind the portal. You can also reach it by using Crow Within from the floating rock with the coffin on it. 3C - 1x Greed IC - 1x Sloth 01:10, 2240 Y Gun is especially effective against Sloth on this verse because it has very little room to dodge in closed quarters. Pelt it with Kafka or Y Gun, dodge and lasso with Alruna during WT, and TA it at low HP if you feel your combo score is already high enough. C08V09 - Keep following Loki. 3C - 1x Shield Accolade, 1x Hammer Accolade IC - 2x Gravitas 01:20, 38400 Two Gravitas to beat down with the usual methods. Throw Sloth's swords at them for extra damage. Take the Gravitas angel weapon and save it for the last verse against 3x Resentment. *C08V10 - Head underwater and turn right, it's sideways on the wall. Muspelheim: Don't touch the ground. 3C - ?x Compassion, 1x Cachet, 1x Fidelity IC - 2x Fidelity, 2x Cachet 00:50, 1230 Use powerful weapons like hammer or Chernobog while jumping off enemies or hitting P mid-air to move upward. Don't rely too much on the platforms, they almost always get destroyed. C08V11 - Keep moving underwater. 3C - 3x Fidelity IC - 3x Fidelity 01:00, 2930 Another filler fight against some Fidelity angels. It's not even different between 3rd climax and infinite climax difficulty. Use handguns to keep from getting bored. *C08V12 - Follow Loki through the portal, then check under the stairs. Muspelheim: Single combo challenge. 3C - ?x Hideous, ?x Fury IC - 2x Fury, 1x Malicious, 2x Fury, 1x Resentment, 4x Fury, 1x Greed 01:40, 38400 Chainsaw up the Malicious and Resentment while using Alruna to crowd control and keep the Furies at bay. If you don't feel confident enough fighting Greed, you probably have enough magic built up to Torture Attack it and then finish off the remaining furies. Or you can hit Umbran Climax and beat up Greed + Furies instead of TAing. C08V13 - Keep following Loki. 3C/IC - Run from the enemy. 00:25, 0 Hit Panther form and run away. You don't have to hit anything. C08V14 - Keep following Loki. 3C - 1x Pride IC - 3x Resentment 01:30, 17190 3x Resentment can get out of control very quickly. It's easiest to hit UC and bash them with the hammer, then finish them off with the Gravitas angel weapon. Otherwise get ready for a ridiculous stream of grabs, whips, claws, and de-ageing beams. Chapter 9 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjVFAK54x3I *C09V01 - As soon as the chapter starts, turn right and jump onto the bridge fragments. 3C - 3x Hideous, ?x Fury IC - 1x Greed, 4x Fury 00:55, 5880 Use Alruna to clear out the furies and crowd control, and chainsaw the Greed. Stay very close to the greed and/or flank it so it uses its grab attack less often. C09V02 - Follow Loki. 3C - 1x Malicious, ?x Fury IC - 1x Malicious, 2x Greed 01:05, 10500 Another fight that can get out of control very quickly. Alruna + chainsaw works well. Hit UC if you're feeling too pressured. *C09V03 - Run up the steps into the temple, it's on the floor to the right. Muspelheim: Defeat enemies to earn time. 3C - 2x Hideous, 1x Malicious, 1x Greed IC - ?x Fury, 1x Resentment, 1x Pain 01:10, 59640 You don't have much time on this verse, so equip Evil Harvest Rosary and focus on the bigger enemies. Hammer charge the resentment, then finish it with Alruna/chainsaw. Immediately switch to attacking the Pain. Use UC with Hammer + Alruna to beat up the Pain while also hitting the Furies. C09V04 - Follow Loki through the portal. 3C - 1x Allegiance, 2x Acceptance, 1x Gravitas IC - 2x Shield Accolade, 2x Belief 02:10, 113750 Two Shield Accolades to start. Break their guard, counter, then finish them off quickly. Two Beliefs is a new one, but the fight is largely the same as two Gravitas/Urbane. One of them will hang back while the other attacks you, they generally won't attack at the same time. Use UC + hammer to kill them both quickly because 2:10 isn't a lot of time. *C09V05 - Shortly after exiting the portal, jump on the floating rocks to the left. 3C - 2x Malicious IC - 1x Malicious, 3x Hideous 00:38, 5880 38 seconds isn't a lot of time for this verse. Use Alruna + chainsaw and UC if you feel pressed for time. C09V06 - Follow Loki. 3C - ?x Fury IC - ?x Fury 00:40, 1230 A couple weak furies to mess around with in whatever way you want. C09V07 - Follow Loki. 3C/IC - Golem #2 02:50, 59640 Cherno P shotgun blasts are very effective as usual. Phase 1: Takes the shape of a bird that dive bombs, sends out shockwaves, and charges. Phase 2: Takes the shape of a beast that charges, swipes, fires a tail gun, and fires lasers. Phase 3: Takes its previous sword-like shape with the same thrusts and swipes. C09V08 - Finish Verse 7 3C/IC - Prophet 03:30, 38400 Phase 1: Both phases of the fight are in the air. It's safest to pelt Prophet with the Y Gun while dodging anything he throws at range. His attacks are hand claps, punches, swipes, or tornadoes, along with eruptions under Bayo, laser blasts, and dual shockwave projectiles. After dealing enough damage Prophet throws a tower at Bayo, QTE to counter it. Phase 2: Prophet starts throwing debris at Bayo among his other attacks, the fight is otherwise the same. Keep pelting him and dodging for the easiest win. Chapter 10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij1A8B4M5_M *C10V01 - Walk forward a bit, then turn left across the narrow ledge. Muspelheim: Witch time disabled. 3C - 1x Malicious, 2x Hideous IC - 1x Greed 00:50, 1230 A single greed is easy to deal with at this point, you should be used to dodging its attacks even without WT. C10V02 - Advance on the floating rocks. 3C - ?x Fury, 2x Hideous IC - 2x Hatred 00:50, 5880 This fight is complicated by the fact that you might accidentally lasso one of the Hatreds off the rock. This sounds good but it hurts your combo score and you won't gain as much magic. Magic is something you probably want to build up for the fights ahead. With that in mind, it's safest to kill them with the chainsaw instead. *C10V03 - After clearing verse 2, take a U turn past the floating rocks with a crow and coffin nearby, then continue to a dead end. 3C - 2x Greed IC - 1x Pain, 2x Hideous 00:55, 5880 Another Pain fight with a very short timer. Equip Evil Harvest Rosary and focus on the Pain, the Hideous will get killed eventually by the Rosary bombs or other attacks. Pick up the Pain wheel and save it for verse 6. C10V04 - Jump onto the small floating rocks past the verse 2 area. 3C/IC - Avoid any obstacles while falling. 00:38, 0 Drop through the air while avoiding any uglies in the way. You don't have to deal any damage. C10V05 - Finish verse 4. 3C/IC - Phantasmaraneae 02:00, 23000 A spider boss that claws, swipes, and spits webbing and fireballs at range. It can burrow underground and attack from below, and summon spiderlings that explode when too close. Chernobog P charges are great here. C10V06 - Continue along the path. 3C - 2x Hideous, 1x Greed, 1x Resentment IC - 1x Pride, 2x Shotgun Hideous, 2x Resentment 02:20, 95870 You start out against a Pride and two Shotgun Hideous. To make things easier, immediately UC and kill one of the Hideous, then finish off the remaining Hideous and Pride normally. Next you face two Resentment. Dodge the incoming de-ageing beam then jump and throw the pain wheel (the pain wheel fires much faster when Bayo is mid-air), or just hit UC and go to town. Finish them off normally using Alruna + chainsaw. *C10V07 - Before moving on the next appendage walkway, turn right and jump up the hill towards a coffin, then continue on to a dead end. 3C - 2x Resentment, 4x Fury IC - 4x Fury, 1x Sloth 01:45, 7220 Use Alruna to clear out the Furies, then focus on the Sloth using Y Gun/Kafka + Alruna. *C10V08 - After reaching the verse 9 Muspelheim portal, take a U turn past the coffin to a dead end. 3C - 1x Pride IC - 3x Malicious 01:20, 2930 3x Malicious isn't as dangerous as 3x Resentment, but they can still cause a nusiance. Pretty much any weapon works here. *C10V09 - On the main path. Muspelheim: Don't get hit. 3C - 1x Greed IC - 1x Sloth 01:00, 2240 Again the easiest method of dealing with Sloths is Y Gun/Kafka at range then Alruna lasso during WT. That's also the easiest way of killing them quickly while keeping your combo score.
It's all fine and good to kill them with other weapons than the Y Gun/Kafka, but your combo will probably drop and you'll probably take too long even if you take no damage. C10V10 - Continue on the main path. 3C - 1x Sloth IC - 2x Sloth 01:25, 12480 Uh oh, two sloths. That's twice as many sloths. The strategy is largely the same, though. Pelt them with Y Gun/Kafka at range, Alruna lasso during Witch Time, and run like hell if they close in on you. If you get cornered and they start spamming attacks and getting out of control, you're probably going to take damage. Keep at it, don't drop your combo, and finish one of them off. Pay attention to the sloths ranged attacks. It's best if one of them uses it's "jump in the air and send multiple shockwaves" attack, because the witch time off the shockwave projectiles is lengthy, and you can dodge off the shockwaves back to back multiple times, giving you consecutive lengthy witch times to attack and lasso with Alruna nearly unimpeded. This does a ton of damage and basically secures your combo score. After only one sloth remains, use whatever time you have left to bolster your combo score then kill it. Depending on how much time remains, you might have to TA execute it because 1:25 isn't a lot of time to fully kill two sloths. *C10V11 - After verse 10, take a U turn past a transparent coffin to a dead end. 3C - 2x Malicious, 1x Sloth IC - 1x Pain, 1x Pride 02:20, 59640 This is a nice breather after the last couple verses. Beat up Pain and Pride using Chernobog, hammer, chainsaw, or whatever. As usual with two large sized enemies, one of them tends to hang back while you solo the other one, which makes the fights much easier than they would have been. It's easier than the 3rd climax 2x Malicious and 1x Sloth. I suggest building up some magic for the next verse. Pick up a Pain wheel too. *C10V12 - After clearing verse 10 (and maybe 11), Backtrack to Phantasmaraneae's area. 3C - 2x Pain, 1x Malicious IC - 4x Greed 02:30, 113750 Four Greeds can get out of control in record time. They won't hesitate to attack Bayo all at once and swarm with bites, grabs, swipes, charges, fireballs, and frost breath. It's almost impossible to avoid taking damage if they get out of control spamming attacks everywhere. Start by chainsawing the nearest Greed while the other 3 slowly approach. You can bring its life down to 1/3 by the time the other 3 close in on Bayo. Once the other 3 catch up and start attacking, hit UC with Alruna and slap them around with the whip, then throw a mid-air pain wheel. Or if you're feeling brave, don't use UC and try to finish them off normally. Either way, soon afterward the low HP chainsawed Greed should be dead, leaving you with 3 greeds which is still very dangerous but a little more manageable. Keep using Alruna to crowd control, chainsaw up close, and Y Gun at a safe distance. 2:30 is tons of time to safely deal with them at range if you want to play keepaway. It's safest to keep your distance from their grab attacks on this verse. C10V13 - Continue on the main path. 3C - Hideous, Hatred, Greed, Pain IC - ?x Hideous, ?x Hatred, 3x Greed, 2x Pride 02:10, 3750 Get in whatever combo points you can while avoiding enemy attacks. They mainly focus on attacking Rodin but you can still get hit, of course. Rodin tends to one shot all of the enemies on his own, because he's oh so overpowered and could probably swat away the final boss like a fly or whatever. Chapter 11 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX2cU9DfOLE C11V01 3C/IC - Alraune 05:40, 72750 Phase 1: Alrunae has the usual assortment of fast swipes and charges, along with her signature whip, and the ability to summon oversized roses that can lock Bayo down with spit attacks. She has a dangerous lunge grab and whip grab, both of which are fast and hard to avoid. If grabbed, immediately use UC to break free without taking any damage. As usual the safest strat is use Y Gun/Kafka at range, then lasso her during WT. You won't be able to stay out of melee range all the time, but it greatly cuts down on her opportunity to use grabs. Phase 2: Alrunae changes form to a large sized demon. Despite its size, her swipes are very fast and she attacks relentlessly. She swipes and stabs with her claws and tail, and sometimes leaps up for a ground slam. The camera makes it hard to see what she's up to. Sometimes if hit by her tail stab you enter a QTE to survive, but if you succeed you take no damage. She has an inhale attack (similar to Gomorrah) that is extremely hard to run away from unless you UC to break free. Save a full magic bar or two in case she uses it. If she fails the inhale attempt she resorts to a blast of fire, watch out for that too. Chapter 12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX2cU9DfOLE C12V01 3C/IC - Climax Horse 02:25, 450 Jump/dodge obstacles and hit UC to slice up any enemies that approach. Very easy and short verse compared to the lengthy motorcycle section in Bayonetta 1. C12V02 3C/IC - Balder 04:40, 8750 As usual, the safest method is use Y Gun/Kafka, keep your distance, then use Alruna to lasso him during WT. This final fight with Balder is slightly easier than the last two encounters, but still no joke. Phase 1: He now has a series of giant golden sword swipes, or he can send the giant sword erupting from the ground or flying in from above. His sword attacks are a bit slower than his twin blade, but still very fast. He retains many of his projectile attacks, the slowdown attack, ground eruptions, dive kicks, etc. He no longer summons angel attacks, though. Watch out for the 3x huge golden sword swipe. It swipes sideways twice, then once more from above. the sword is its own entity and even if you dodge the first swipe and hit Balder during WT, the second swipe may come out regardless. That means if you dodged the first swipe, even if you hit Balder during WT, the second swipe might be ready to hit you as soon as you exit WT. Pay attention and dodge the 2nd swipe as soon as you get out of WT if you know it's coming. Phase 2: He gains a few new attacks, all of which are slow and easy to dodge. He sends a wall of angel feathers, slams together two large swords, or swipes a single large sword across the field. This makes the phase easier since he doesn't use his faster attacks as much. Chapter 13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujXBAEMW2s8 C13V01 - Continue down the hallway instead of turning left, then destroy the coffin. 3C - 3x Affinity, 3x Applaud IC - 1x Grace, 1x Glory 00:55, 3750 Grace and Glory are back for more punishment. With the Gaze equipped they're pretty relentless and spam their attacks often. Chainsaws seem like the best way to deal with them, since the WT they grant is usually too short to lasso them. *C13V02 - Move into the main area and step into the lit gazebo, the portal will appear. Muspelheim: Timed battle. 3C - 1x Applaud IC - 1x Fairness 00:17, 1230 Just like Chapter 1 verse 1 way back when, open with a Hammer charge + PPPP and then dodge w/ Evil Harvest Rosary equipped for extra damage. If it parries too many of your attacks, try again. C13V03 - Advance into the main square. 3C - ?x Affinity, ?x Applaud, ?x Decoration IC - ?x Affinity, ?x Applaud, ?x Decoration 01:05, 12710 This verse shows how much more powerful Bayo's new weapons are vs the older set of angels. They simply don't stand a chance against the hammer, whip, chainsaw, etc. Hammer charge and alruna PKP can effortlessly decimate the entire crew. C13V04 - Complete verse 3. 3C/IC - Fortitudo 02:10, 17190 Fortutido will bite, lunge, and cause lava to erupt underneath Bayo, just like the first game. It's hard to see what it's doing sometimes, leading to some BS hits. Just swing Chernobog at it until it dies. C13V05 - Keep moving forward. 3C - Affinity, Applaud IC - Affinity, Applaud 00:18, 1230 Hammer charge can absolutely decimate the angels jumping through the window in this verse. C13V06 - Avoid the fireballs and explosions on the bridge then keep moving forward underground. 3C - 2x Affinity, 1x Applaud, 1x Fairness IC - 3x Applaud, 1x Beloved 01:30, 43990 This fight isn't a complete pushover. The Applauds can live long enough to use their signature charge move, and they can do it from off screen in Bayo 2. The Beloved uses axe swings, backhands, and punches. His punches are a bit hard to spot, look for him raising his fist in the air. It might be partially obscured by the camera. C13V07 - Keep moving forward. 3C - 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless IC - 3x Grace, 3x Glory 02:10, 17190 A gauntlet of multiple Grace and Glory. Equip the Evil Harvest Rosary to keep the pressure off while using Alruna and chainsaws to carve them up. C13V08 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Huge Beloved 00:40, 390 The Huge Beloved shows up swatting its hands inside the room. Dodge and fire Chernobog at it. C13V09 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Huge Beloved 00:38, 1230 Run to the far side of the bridge, then fire Chernobog at its hands while it tries to tilt the bridge. Once its health is low enough, perform a QTE to counter its punch. It will fall into the lava, then witch time activates, then you can run up its body and jump off its head to end the verse. C13V10 - Keep moving forward. 3C - 1x Grace, 1x Glory IC - 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless 00:45, 5880 Fairness and Fearless still have their annoying grab lunge. Try to flank them at all times and be ready to dodge at a moment's notice. Chainsaws seem to work pretty well against them as well. *C13V11 - Continue through the lava cave into an underground area. Go past the doors. In the long hallway with gates on either side, turn right and behind the gates and keep running to the end. The portal will appear. Muspelheim: Use enemy arms. 3C - ?x Affinity, 1x Applaud, 1x Fairness, ?x Decoration IC - 2x Fairness, 1x Gravitas 01:30, 1680 This is the most difficult verse of the chapter. You have to pick off Fairness and Fearless in record time while they constantly lunge, bite, and grab at Bayo, then take out an entire Gravitas again with no dallying. The key to clearing this verse quickly is using the bow's charge. Hold Y to charge up the bow and fire 3 bolts instead of 1. You can hit both Fairness with it, and fire all 3 bolts into the Gravitas at close range. Starting off, immediately grab the bow, dodge backwards, then fire 3 charge shots at the Fairness. Both of them should get hit with a bolt each, bringing them to about half HP. Run for the staff or claws to finish them off, and pray they don't start dodging like crazy or spamming grab lunges. Once they're dead, pick up the bow against the Gravitas. Try to fire a charged bow shot at the Gravitas at close range, so it gets hit by all 3 bolts each time. Dodge one of its attacks, run between its legs behind it, then start charging the shot at its hind legs. By the time he turns around to face Bayo and readies another attack, she should fire off the charged bow. Right after he does his leap + downward arm cannon is also a good time to start charing. Use the claw and staff quickly (basically waste them by dodging out early) so you can pick up another bow and charge shot again. C13V12 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Huge Beloved 02:00, 72750 It's like a normal Beloved, except Huge. Pretty slow and easy to beat up like most large sized angels. He does a surprising amount of leaping back and keepaway. Be ready to Y gun to keep the combo and Panther to catch up. Chapter 14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcLfMaKRoT4 C14V01 - Keep moving forward. 3C - Beloved IC - Gravitas, Urbane 01:00, 876750 The most damage while in the Umbran Armor, as far as I know, is PPP-dodge cancel-PPP-repeat. Just keep spamming that and you get a huge score with some dodge protection built in. The enemies here are basically pincushions for your OP Umbran Armor to knock around. C14V02 - Keep moving forward. 3C - Affinity, Kinship, Gravitas, Urbane, Huge Beloved IC - Affinity, Kinship, Huge Beloved, 2x Belief 01:20, 745150 Dodge past the Kinships or use your guns to take them out. They can be annoying to hit, but it's easy to dodge past them. In the main square, use UC and take out the Beliefs first, then take out the Huge Beloved. Zoom the camera out and be careful of surprise offscreen attacks. *C14V03 - Keep moving forward. Before moving up the stairs and opening the door, the portal is to the right. Muspelheim: Defeat enemies to earn time. 3C - Affinity, Applaud, Grace, Glory, Huge Beloved IC - ?x Decoration, ?x Fairness and Fearless, 1x Beloved 01:15, 876750 Spam PPP-dodge cancel and maybe some 360-P gunfire barrages for good measure. This verse probably offers the highest possible combo score for a single verse. You can easily get 20+ million combo points and rack up hundreds of thousands of halos. C14V04 - Keep moving forward onto the bridge. 3C - ?x Affinity, 5x Belief IC - ?x Affinity, 5x Belief 01:00, 168000 You have to kill all the beliefs to end the verse, otherwise it counts as skipped. It's fastest to knock them off the bridge although you get a lot more points killing them normally. If trying to kill them normally, use PPKPPKPPK-repeat to avoid accidentally punching them off the bridge. You might want to punch the first set of Beliefs forward a bit to make chaining the combo into the second set easier. The camera is pretty fidgety in this verse and the Beliefs will frequently attack from offscreen. Again be careful of surprise offscreen attacks. C14V05 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Sapientia 01:40, 555000 Sapientia has an assortment of bites, lasers, ground pounds, fireballs, tail lashes, and claws. Sometimes he'll leap away from Bayo and fire a missile barrage. Dash towards him to catch up while dodging through the missiles, and use Y gun once or twice to keep up combo. When he uses his quad laser attack, you can't deal damage by punching the lasers. Use P hold attacks for gunfire and wait for his face to reappear. C14V06 - Finish verse 5. 3C/IC - Worship 02:10, 1304000 Dodge the initial missile salvo, orbs, and laser blast from the front of the ship. You'll auto-move to the sides. Beat up the small angel heads on the sides of the ships. Dodge the face lashes and missiles, and close in with Y gun if you get pushed back. After doing enough damage you take on the front of the ship. Keep punching the face and dodging any lasers, missiles, or orbs. C14V07 - Finish verse 6. 3C/IC - Iustita 01:20, 323750 Iustita has its usual lashes, flower spit, psychadelic laser shows, headbutts, etc. Its attacks are pretty fast for such a huge creature. Use Y liberally as combo has a high tendancy to drop. I got a ridiculous 49.4 million combo score for this chapter. Chapter 15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TD0P64XAeM C15V01 - Start of chapter. 3C - ?x Affinity, ?x Applaud, 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless, 3x Kinship, 1x Grace, 1x Glory, 1x Beloved IC - ?x Affinity, ?x Applaud, 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless, 3x Kinship, 1x Grace, 1x Glory, 2x Beloved 04:40, 95870 A gauntlet of angels from Bayonetta past. The Kinships are annoying because they can fly in unnoticed and fire at Bayo from offscreen. Pay attention for their arrival. Even if you don't kill them, try not to get hit. The Alruna + chainsaw for small enemies and Chernobog for large enemies is enough to reliably clear everything out. The hammer isn't very useful because you can rarely surprise anything with a charge attack. If you want to clear out a mess of uglies, hit UC and spam Alruna PKP. I suggest saving UC for the Fairness and Fearless because grabs suck. Try picking up one of the Beloved weapons before the verse ends. C15V02 - Finish verse 1 3C/IC - Temperantia 01:50, 17190 Temperantia has a variety of punches and ground pounds, laser fire, finger projectiles, and ground eruptions. You can parry the projectiles for extra damage, otherwise stick to spamming Chernobog P charges, or just equip the Harvest Rosary to kill it faster. It's probably best to use the Beloved weapon on this verse if you picked it up. C15V03 - Finish verse 2 3C - ?x Affinity, Inspired IC - ?x Affinity, ?x Inspired, 1x Grace, 1x Glory, 1x Applaud 02:00, 17190 You're on a falling piece of debris fending off angels, and there's not much room to maneuver. Inspired snakes will occasionally dash at Bayo from offscreen, hard to avoid unless you see them coming from the front. Evil Harvest Rosary is a good idea to keep the pressure off. The best way to avoid the Inspireds is stay in the air as much as possible, or at least jump around a lot. There's a good chance it will pass under Bayo as she's airborne. C15V04 - Finish verse 3 3C/IC - Loptr 04:10, 17190 Phase 1: Loptr fights much like Prophet. He has similar fist punches, tornadoes, pushes, claps, and dual shockwaves. His new attacks include a ground eruption that can slow Bayo (no damage), more ground eruptions, orb projectiles, rains of ice on the ground that can freeze Bayo, and a pulling vortex on the ground. Much like Gomorrah and Alraune's inhaling attacks, the vortex is hard to get away from. Either be far away when Loptr starts casting it, use UC to break free, or use Crow Within to stay in the air longer. As usual it's best to pelt him with Y Gun or Kafka at range, then Alruna lasso him during WT. The Y Gun has the benefit of clearing most of the ice on the ground. Reduce him to about half health and he throws a meteor at Bayo. QTE it and continue to phase 2. Phase 2: Loptr gains the ability to rain meteor debris from the sky, along with his other attacks. C15V05 - Keep moving forward. 3C - ?x Decoration IC - 1x Grace, 1x Glory 00:50, 3750 A lone Grace and Glory waiting to be dismantled in whatever manner. Chainsaws seem to work pretty well on them. Easy verse. Build up your magic for verse 7. C15V06 - Keep moving forward. 3C - 1x Grace, 1x Glory IC - 1x Huge Beloved 01:00, 10500 A random Huge Beloved shows up with his usual assortment of axe swings, kicks, punches, etc. Not much of a threat at this point. You only have a minute to kill him so equip Harvest Rosary, dodge his attacks perfectly to trigger lots of Rosary Bombs, and don't let up on the Chernobog P charges. Or try hitting the weak spot on his upper back. *C15V07 - Take the left stairs/path up instead of the grated door. 3C - 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless IC - 2x Fairness, 2x Fearless 02:20, 38400 A gauntlet of Fairness and Fearless in a small arena, and you fight 3 at once. A single grab can end your no damage attempt. 2:20 is plenty of time, but the fight can get out of control as quickly as 4x Greed. Like the 4x Greed fight, open with a hammer charge + PPPP on the nearest enemy, then chainsaw it until the other enemies catch up. At that point switch to Alruna and lash them with PKP at range while staying mostly out of grab range. Use UC if you want to make the fight easier. *C15V08 - Keep advancing on the verse 7 path, the portal is to the left. Muspelheim: Don't touch the ground. 3C - ?x Decoration, 1x Beloved IC - 3x Decoration, 1x Huge Beloved 01:50, 13100 Immediately wipe out the Decorations, then keep jumping off the Huge Beloved while hitting it with the hammer. Hammer charges on the weak point on its back can do a ton of damage. Don't rely on the lone pillar, it will probably get destroyed in seconds. Chapter 16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5SOEDNh2jE C16V01 - Jetfighter Assault #1 03:00, 5880 Lockon and kill angels with Bayonetta's fire, then hit UC during bosses and spam the lockon punch attack to kill them quickly. C16V02 - Jetfighter Assault #2 02:40, 2240 Keep using Bayonetta's attacks until you reach the final boss, an Insidious. Up against the Insidious, switch to Balder's melee attacks. Again hit UC and he'll make quick work of it with his slashes. You can keep any magic built up during verses 1 and 2 for verse 4. Might be a good idea to save up. *C16V03 - On the ledge just after finishing verse 2. Muspelheim: Don't get hit. 3C - 1x Allegiance IC - 2x Acceptance, 1x Sword Accolade, 1x Shield Accolade, 1x Hammer Accolade, 1x Allegience 02:00, 39200 3 types of Accolades and an Allegiance at the end. Build up your magic on the accolades and then dump it on the Allegiance. 2 minutes isn't very stressful in terms of time. C16V04 - Keep moving forward. 3C/IC - Prophet/Aesir 07:40, 30030 Phase 1: You start with a rematch vs the Prophet. Its attacks are basically identical to Loptr in Chapter 15. Unlike Loptr he can fire a laser blast similar to the Chapter 9 Prophet fight. Phase 2: Afterward you fight Aesir. He has several very fast punch and kick combos, the usual fist/palm strikes, ground eruptions that can slow Bayo, body charges, lasers, large and small orb projectiles, dual shockwaves, and he can turn the entire screen red which slows Bayo. He's very fast, aggressive, and unpredictable, similar to Lumen in Chapter 7. This is the most difficult phase of the fight. Reduce about 1/3 of his health and he summons warplanes to bomb the stage. If you dodge an exploding bomb you enter WT, and you can see some of the unexploded bombs in the process of falling. If you hit those falling bombs during WT you can deflect them back at Aesir and damage him. Aesir has 5 health bars (white, purple, blue, green, yellow). You have to reduce approximately the first 2 1/2 bars to reach phase 3, or half his health. Phase 3: Lower Aesir's health enough, and he summons a giant sattelite that destroys the stage and takes Balder out of the fight. The remainder of the fight is airborne. Aesir still has very fast punches and kicks, but he's not nearly as aggressive, making this phase much easier. Occasionally he fires the sattelite cannon at Bayo, very easy to dodge. Some time into phase 4 he throws the sattelite at Bayo, perform the QTE to counter it. As usual for airborne fights, playing keepaway while firing the Y Gun is the easiest strategy. Phase 4: After depleting Aesir's health, you get an opportunity to freely beat him up for a bit and end the verse. That's not the end of your scoring for Chapter 16, though. You get to carry your magic from V4 to V5-V9, try to save as much as possible for the credits fights. C16V05 - Credits fight #1, guns on arms/legs 3C/IC - 2x Spear Accolade, ?x Acceptance, ?x Compassion 00:25, 390 There's not much time to screw around on the first credits fight. Attack the angels relentlessly with PKP or other short, damaging combos. C16V06 - Credits fight #2, rakshasa on arms and legs 3C/IC - Masked Lumen 00:25, 390 This is obviously the most difficult credits fight both to complete in 25 seconds and to avoid taking damage. Especially on infinite climax where Lumen is almost unhittable outside of WT. Fire at him with Y gun, dodge perfectly into WT every time and slice him up, then resume Y gun. Do that perfectly and you might do enough damage in time. You could also try saving up and using UC, then spamming attacks and hoping some of them land outside of WT. C16V07 - Credits fight #3, guns on arms/legs 3C/IC - ?x Affinity, 1x Applaud, ?x Decoration 00:25, 390 Relatively easy fight against the old cast of angels. Focus on the Applaud first so it doesn't do an offscreen charge, then clear out the rest using PKP and other fast high range combos. C16V08 - Credits fight #4, in Umbran Armor 3C/IC - ?x Belief 00:25, 3750 Very easy fight beating up some Beliefs in the Umbran Armor. It's hard to not PP this one. C16V09 - Credits fight #5, guns on arms/legs 3C/IC - ?x Acceptance 00:25, 1680 A fight against Acceptances on Enzo's plane. Watch out for the combo score, it's higher than most other credits verses. Don't punch them all off the plane too soon, but don't spend too long beating them up. I06 - Witch Trials Witch trials send Bayo through a gauntlet of Muspelheim stages with a pre-set difficulty. Like all Alfheims/Muspelheims, items can't be used. There are no autosaves, you must play through all verses in one attempt. Most players get through the Witch Trials using powerful accessories. You can open every verse with a hammer charge if needed. Witch Trial I (2nd climax) W01V01 - ?x Compassion 00:15, 390 A few Compassion as a warmup. W01V02 - ?x Acceptance 00:55, 8910 A few Acceptance as a warmup. W01V03 - 2x Acceptance, 2x Spear Accolade, 1x Urbane 01:30, 79980 Take out the Spear Accolade and Acceptance, then Urbane shows up. You've dealt with all of these guys before. W01V04 - 4x Acceptance, 1x Sword Accolade 00:50, 6130 Sword Accolades are still fast and annoying, kill it first. W01V05 - 2x Acceptance, 4x Spear Accolade 01:10, 30030 Use Alruna for CC or UC w/ hammer to wipe out the Accolades. W01V06 - 1x Valiance 01:10, 23000 The Chapter 1 sword boss returns for a rematch. He's still rather predictable, mostly swiping in front of him and to the sides. Witch Trial II (3rd climax) W02V01 - 2x Cachet, ?x Compassion 00:35, 1870 Watch out for Cachets erupting from below. W02V02 - 2x Acceptance, 3x Shield Accolade 01:10, 10500 Shield Accolades. Use Harvest Rosary + smashes to break their guard, then Counter with Y, then finish them off. W02V03 - 2x Shield Accolade, 1x Belief 01:30, 59640 More Shield Accolades with a Belief. Harvest Rosary is again good, both for breaking Shield guard and killing the Belief quickly. Just don't drop your combo. W02V04 - 1x Sword Accolade, 2x Acceptance, 2x Enrapture 00:40, 3940 Sword Accolades, everyone's favorite kind. Probably best to pick off the Enraptures first. W02V05 - 3x Hammer Accolade, 2x Enrapture 01:00, 14710 Hammer Accolades, the easiest kind. Pick off the Enraptures first. W02V06 - 4x Enrapture, 1x Gravitas 01:40, 34040 Pick off the enraptures first, they can get in cheap offscreen hits while you're focused on the Gravitas. W02V07 - ?x Compassion, 3x Fidelity 00:45, 7660 Compassion and fidelity, Alruna PKP can tear through these enemies. W02V08 - Masked Lumen 01:30, 3750 Lumen is back for more. He has much less health than before, making the fight pretty quick. As usual use Y Gun then Alruna to lasso during WT. Witch Trial III (3rd climax) W03V01 - ?x Fury 00:50, 4730 Some furies to pick on with whatever weapons. W03V02 - ?x Hideous 00:55, 10500 A bunch of Hideous carrying different weapon types. Alruna works great for CC. W03V03 - 2x Pain 02:00, 123480 Chernobog P charges for large enemies like Pain. These two Pains seem more willing to attack simultaneously than in story mode. W03V04 - 3x Hideous, 1x Malicious 00:50, 5880 Malicious is easy to kill quickly, target it first then deal with the Hideous. W03V05 - 2x Fury, 2x Resentment 01:10, 8750 Resentments love to spam tail grabs, stay airborne as much as possible and use Alruna/chainsaws on them. W03V06 - Phantasmaraneae 01:30, 23000 The big spider boss is back. Like all former bosses in Witch Trials, it dies much faster than story mode. W03V07 - 2x Hideous, 1x Hatred 01:00, 5880 Hideous are still a priority target over Hatred. They're about as dangerous but die faster. W03V08 - 1x Malicious, 1x Greed 00:45, 2930 Chainsaw the greed first, be ready to dodge its grab lunges at a millisecond's notice. W03V09 - ?x Fury, 1x Sloth 01:05, 5880 Everyone's favorite Sloth is back. Use PKP to clear out the Fury first. Safest way to dismantle it is Y Gun/Kafka at range followed by Alruna lassos during WT. W03V10 - Alraune Phase 2 01:00, 10500 The transformed Alraune is back with its giant claws/nails, tail lashes, etc. You'll probably kill it before it can use an inhale attack, but keep an UC ready in case. Witch Trial IV (3rd climax) W04V01 - ?x Compassion, ?x Decoration 00:25, 960 We're getting into Bayo 1/Bayo 2 crossovers. Compassion and Decoration together are a massive threat, you probably won't survive past this point. W04V02 - 3x Acceptance, ?x Affinity, 1x Sword Accolade 01:15, 23580 Affinity and Acceptance are again a massive threat, especially if the Harp Acceptance and Horn Affinity gang up on you with ranged attacks. Not sure what the developers were smoking! W04V03 - 2x Cachet, 1x Beloved, 1x Huge Beloved 02:30, 237370 Kill the Cachets first, they die much faster and their ground eruptions are annoying. Beloved are slow and dumb as usual. W04V04 - 1x Affinity, ?x Applaud 01:00, 20480 A group of vicious Affinity and Applaud. About as difficult as they were in Bayonetta 1. Which is not much. W04V05 - 1x Malicious, 1x Pride 01:15, 17190 Malicious dies much faster than Pride, target it first then kill the Pride quickly with Chernobog. W04V06 - Alraune Phase 1 01:30, 10500 Alraune's humanoid form. Fast, deadly, and annoying flowers that spit crap at Bayo. Deal with her with the usual Y Gun/Alruna strat. W04V07 - 2x Enrapture, 1x Fairness, 1x Fearless 01:00, 8750 Fairness and Fearless getting friendly with Enraptures. Pick off the enraptures first then deal with the heavenly hounds as usual. W04V08 - Golem 01:30, 59640 Deal with the golem with Chernobog, don't drop the combo as 60k is steep considering its low health. W04V09 - Loptr 01:30, 5880 Loptr is one of the easier humanoid bosses, along with Prophet. Deal with him with the usual Y Gun/Alruna strat. W04V10 - 2x Shield Accolade, 1x Allegiance 01:00, 5880 Shield Accolades and Allegiances. Use Harvest Rosary and drop hammer charges, and then UC with the hammer to knock some sense into them. Otherwise you're going to get parried and blocked all over the place. W04V11 - 1x Grace, 1x Glory, 2x Fidelity 01:30, 12480 Use Alruna+chainsaw and possibly Harvest Rosary to keep the pressure off. Target Fidelity first. W04V12 - Balder 02:30, 2930 Balder is just as threatening as before. He has no small amount of health either. Deal with him with the usual Y Gun/Alruna strat. Witch Trial V (infinite climax) Coming Soon
