It's funner than you might of think. The last time I play a game this addicting was back when Pokemon was released. NeoPets is a little different then most of the games you've ever played. It's like every games rolled into 1. That means there are many mini-games, items, bosses and enemies and other fun things that you will find ou about. Now that you've know a little bit about the game, I guess you're thinking why I even bother making the FAQ. Well a simple reason is to help you, the users. I don't usually write FAQs as often as I use to anymore so it's lucky that I wrote this one. In the FAQ you'll find out everything you need to know about this fun game and more. I will try to explain as much as I know about the game in an easy to read FAQ. This is one of my hardest and longest FAQ yet so please enjoy ;) *************************************** Create-A-Pet *************************************** After you've join and got your password and user name it's time to create a pet. I bet you're thinking, will it cost me anything? The answer is zip, zero, nothing, in fact they will reward you with 50 NeoPoints for making a pet (you'll learn about NP later in the FAQ). Step 1 : Start out by picking the species that you want. There are many species to choose from but keep in mind some of them you cannot use. That means they're aren't a lot of users that have choosen those pets, will you be one of them? ------------------ Resticted ------------------ Restricted pets are pet you can't use there. What that's means is that you will have to find another way to get them. Step 2 : After you've have choosen a species it's time to fill out some information about your Pet. First you have to pick their name, if you can't think of one click randomize and the site will choose a name for you (keep in mind that most of the names are used). Next is the gender, will you pick a male or female pet? Now this one is the most important part of all, the color of your pet. Picking out the right color is crucial, why? Because you can't change it to another color without the Paint Brush (about 50,000-200,000 NP each!), so besure to pick the right color. After picking out the color now you get to pick where your pet lives and your Pet's personality. After you're done creating a Pet you'll be awarded with 50 NP! *************************************** NeoPoints *************************************** You've seen me talking about these NeoPoints frequently, but do you know what it is? NeoPoints kinda money, you use it to buy items, play certain games, train your pets and as well as almost every other part of the sites. How do you earn these NeoPoints? There are many ways. One of the most common and easiest ways is to play games, some games you can earn from 1-4000 NeoPoints for each plays! Another way to earn NeoPoints is by luck, you will randomly find some NeoPoints as you travel aroung the site. Those are the 2 basic ways to earn NeoPoints, but they're other ways. If you are to lazy to play games or can't wait long enough to find NeoPoints, why not sell some of your items? That's right you can create your own shop, auction, Trading Post, and even a stock market!! Read some of the other sections. Now that you know how to earn NeoPoints, you need to know how to save them. Neopia Central there will be a bank you can use. Simply go inside and open up an account and you'll automaticly be rewarded with 50 NP! Besure to save sometimes, you never know once you've gone crazy and spent all of your points, or a ghost have come up to steal it. Yep, there are ghost that rome the site and randomly steals your NP so be careful... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one of the greatest things about the bank. Did you know that you can earn intest per day? That's right the more you save the more NeoPoints you might get. Losing NeoPoint ---------------------- We all know that there are many different kind of ways to lose NeoPoints. One of the most commonly way to lose NeoPoints is going shopping, duh! But there are many more ways you can lose NeoPoints, one of the wortest was that can ever happen to your NeoPoints is the ghosts and monsters steals it. That's right sometime while traveling randomly around the site you will be ecounter by some enemies, but don't think they don't steal a lot of NPs , they will steal from 100 NP - 10,000 NP! The next ways to lose NeoPoints isn't bad, but it even help you gain more NeoPoints! Just play some games. That's all the ways I can remeber of losing NPs , I'll add more as soon as I find out... *************************************** Caring for Pets *************************************** NeoPets are like real pets, you have to feed them, groom them, play with them, just like the real pets. In this section you'll find out many different ways on caring for your Pets. Remember to treat your Pet as if he was real. *************************************** Feeding *************************************** Just like us Pets eats too. Some Pets like the Garrl will eat mostly anything but others will only eat a certain kind of food. The most easy way to feed you pet is the Soup Kitchen. If you have 2000 NP or less the Kitchen Faerie will give your Pet food for free! To go to the kitchen simply click on help and type in Soup Kitchen or if you are to lazy to go here: { http://www.neopets.com/soupkitchen.phtml }. If you are saving over 2000 NP NeoPoints and don't have any food left go to Tyrannia and then go to Tyrannian Plateau. You'll see a Giant Omelette on the left bottom part of the plateau, click on it and grab a free Omelete! Remember you can only get 1 omelette a day so don't bother trying to get more. NOTE: An omelette can feed your pet 3 times, becaause it is too big. Buying food is the most common way to feed your Pet. There are a whole bunch of food shop in NeoPedia! Here's a few: Chocolate Factory, Slushie Shop, Bakery, Food Shop, Hubert's Hotdogs, Pizza Parlor and many more where that came from. As you can see feeding your pet is one of the most major part of caring for your pets, if you don't feed them, they will get sick and even leave you! *************************************** Training *************************************** Once you first create your pet they're probally very weak. But you can train them to make them stronger. There are many ways to make your pet stronger, one of the most common, and expensive ways is the Training School. Training School ------------------- On Mystery Island you will see a Training School in the middle of the island. Once you're there select the courses you want to train you pet in, select from: Stretgh: to make them do more damage Defence: to make them reduce enemies damage Level: make them grow 1 level Endurance: to give your pet more HP to last in a battle Agility: make your pet faster Each course isn't free so don't count on going to the Training School often. You don't use NP to pay for course but you have to use, Codestones. There are about 7 types of codestones, once you've taken a course you shall see a codestone next to your pet name on the Training School Status Page. You need to get the exact codestone(s) inorder to train. Each codestone cost about 2500-4500 NP so besure you have some NeoPoints before training. As your pet's level go higher you'll need use more codestones. So try not to focus on the levels. The only thing Level is good for isto increase your strength, defence, speed and endorance (HP). So you need some levels before you can use any other course. While you can buy a 1000-4000 NP dubloon to train. There is only one bad thing about the Swashbuckling Academy...it takes longer!!! The horror!! Lol, anyway it'll take a couple of hours longer then the Trainng School but it will save you a hefty ammount of NeoPoints! Now that you know what it is I bet you're trying to figure out where it is located. Go to Explore and you'll see an island called Krawk Island. Next to the treasure chest is the Swashbuckling Academy. That's right just like us your Pet can get sick too. Once they're sick they will be weaker in battles, won't play much games and other effects. Cures: If a Pet has a certain desease you need a certain cure for it. You can check out the deases and their cures in the Neopain Hospital located in Neopain Central. Then you can head over to the Neopian Pharmacy and try to buy the cure. Note some cures will not be for sale so you might wanna check in the Shop Wizard and try to find a store that has the cure. Secret Cures: Instead of spending you NeoPoints on cures there will be someone to help you cure for free! Try to go to the Water Faerie in the Healing Spring at Faerie Land every 40 mins. and she might be able to cure your Pet's desease for free! The Wheel of Excitement (next to Healing Spring) will sometime cure your Pet if you are lucky enough to get a healing spot.
