I was searching some site with game solutions and then... A window popped up. It had neopets on it. I had no idea what it was but I decided to check it out. Lucky I did because I soon realised how great this game is. But boy is it addictive. There are lots of things you can do on neopets and in this FAQ I hope to cover it all. I hope this will become the biggest and best FAQ for Neopets!! And if you are reading this and haven't yet joined. JOIN NOW!! www.neopets.com Any feedback should go to cameronbathman@hotmail.com or neomail to camo1235 if you want this FAQ on your site be sure to EMAIL me! And join the mailing list to be notified when ever the FAQ is updated!! +-----------------------------+ 3: What is neopets/signing up +-----------------------------+ Neopets has to be one of the greatest online games ever! Its the first virtual pet game on the web. I have been playing for a long time and believe me its great! You can play games, shop, create a shop, play with trading cards, battle, chat and lots more! That's what makes neopets so great! Because you have so much to do! Neopets was created in 1999. To sign up go to neopets.com and click sign up and enter you details! This will be a fun and happy experience for you hopefully! It's a fun to play thing on the web and it is free! +------------------+ 4: Getting started +------------------+ Every Neopian starts somewhere. I hope to give you a push so you can start enjoying this great game! If you haven't already joined go to neopets.com and sign up now!! Just enter your details and sign up! 4.1: Making a pet +-----------------+ There really isn't any point playing neopets if you don't make a pet! Just go to create a pet on the yellow menu on the left. Choosing your pet can be fun. You have to chose its name(there isn't many original names to choose from) and choose its colour and some other important details! I suggest only having one pet until you can support more. You can choose what stats you want your pet to have (you can re-roll stats a max 5 times). You can also adopt a pet(go to pet central and go to adoption agency). If you don't make a pet you cant do much stuff. After you get your pet you can see how it's doing by clicking its name under your username on the menu bar on the left! You now have to look after it. 4.2: Opening a bank account +---------------------------+ The bank is one of the most important places in the game. This is where you will be storing all your extra neopoints. When you first go there you will need to create a bank account. You will make 30np by doing this. When you make neopoints put them in your bank. Rarely take out money. I only have 1000np out max and when i get over 1000np I deposit np in the bank so I have 1000np out again. I recommend you do the same. You can upgrade your bank account also. This gives you a higher interest. You need a specific amount of neopoints before you can actually upgrade the account. You also get a safety deposit box where you can deposit or withdraw you items when you create an account. Putting money in the bank and putting items in the safety deposit box will stop them being stolen when random events pop up! 4.3: Opening a shop +-------------------+ A shop can really bring in a good amount of neopoints. This is where you will make most of your neopoints. You can put any item you buy in your shop. You can buy items from the main shops or other users shops! When you start your shop it costs around 100np but it may be more. After you have created a shop you can put a description in! You can also put HTML in this area to make it look cool! I don't recommend music though. You can put items in your shop by selecting stock when you click an item in your inventory or go to quick stock if you have over 1 item to stock. When you start your shop it is size 1 so you can only have 5 items in your shop and you will be unable to put any more items in. Upgrade your shop size to about 20, you don't have to go much further unless you really want the room and can afford to. After you have put the items in your shop and go to your shop. You will see the items there. Put a price on all of them (make sure you check the with the shop wizard) and when someone buys your item the money spent goes to your till where you can take it out. I would bank all the money you earn from the shop and use some of the money from the games! 4.4: Good tips +--------------+ I know what its like being a newbie and I have been scammed twice one time I lost my account but got it back. I will give you some tips to help you on your way... -NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD- -DON'T TRY TO HAVE TO MUCH OUT OF YOU BANK IF YOU ARE SAVING NP!- -RESEARCH ITEMS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN USING THE SHOP WIZARD- -DONT BEG TO OTHER PEOPLE- -STICK AROUND ONE SPECIFIC SHOP AND WAIT TILL IT RESTOCKS- -ASK QUESTIONS BUT NOT TO MANY :)- -PLAY GAMES- -HAVE FUN AND DONT STRESS ABOUT IT, ITS ONLY A GAME!- +-------------------------+ 5: Looking after your pet +-------------------------+ Looking after you pet can be a hard thing to do there are some ways to keep you pet happy some of the ways are hard. Some are not. Here I will list some important things you need to do Then looking after your pet. And no your pet cannot die! 5.1: Feeding +------------+ Like any other creature your pet needs to be fed on a daily basis. Do this buy buying food from shops or you can try at the healing springs in faerieland. To easily feed it just send it to the neolodge. Don't worry it wont die if it is not feed but that is no reason to not feed it! If it is hungry you cannot battle in the battledome. You can also get a omelette every day, this is good for beginners!! Just visit the giant omelette in tyrannia! There is also the earth faeries quest you can do but its a random event so you may not get quests often. I don't think quests are that worth it so just use the healing springs or the neolodge. 5.2: Training +-------------+ If you want to battle your pet must be strong. To get it stronger you need to train it either using the training school in mystery island or using the academy in krawk island. You can also try some quests. The mystic training school takes in codestones in exchange for training and the academy takes dubloons. Dubloons are cheaper than codestones so I recommend the academy. However the training school is faster than the academy. You can also use the lab ray if you have the map (this is risky but worth it!) You can only get codestones and dubloons from players shops and shrine and tombola. 5.3: Disease +------------+ Your pets can also get sick. This can be at random or at the wheel of excitement or sometimes at the money tree. See what cures it at the hospital and go buy it at the pharmacy and use it on the pet with the sickness. The disease will not kill your pet. You can also try the healing springs for a quick and cheap fix! Your pet cannot die so don't worry. Your pet cannot battle though. Always try to heal your pet straight away and don't put it off. Be a good owner! 5.4: Mood +---------+ To keep you pet happy you can let it play with toys or you can play games. Sometimes the pet will not like the toy or be bored of the game and not let you play it. Mood seems to be a bit more important now, I have noticed my pet is worse off in battle if it is feeling depressed. It usually gets depressed by losing too many battles in my experience. 5.5: Neolodge +-------------+ When a pet is born it is full. But when it gets hungry you have to feed it to keep it from getting hungry. The neolodge is great it keeps your pet full and happy! Only ever choose the cockroach towers for 5NP a night and not the other expensive ones because its cheapest and they all do the same thing anyway and don't choose any extra things like Jacuzzi and burger bar etc. as they don't do a thing. You can also choose how many days your pet will stay there. This should cost you under 200np if you follow my instructions and can last for a month! It's well worth it and it's a lot better than buying food to give to your pet. Of course there is no reason not to spoil it now and then with a treat if you really care for it. 5.6: Intelligence +----------------+ Yep your pet can become smarter. A new pet wouldn't not have any intelligence, it would be average. You can make it smarter by reading books and playing certain games like cliffhanger and such. When your pet is smarter it gets bored of games faster than an average Neopet. If you read your pet a whole lot of books you pet will be on the high scores and you may even win a trophy but this is hard. I believe there is also neggs that can increase your pets intelligence. 5.7: Healing +------------+ After a battle your pet may need some healing. If it does you can get specific items like potions and scorchstones to recover your pet some potions cant be used in battle. I also recommend you should go to the healing springs first as it is free and then the wheel as the light faerie may heal your pet. +-----------------------------+ 6: Looking after your account +-----------------------------+ Looking after your account can be fun and serious. Not all people worry about their accounts but the more serious (and the ones who understand this game more) do. 6.1: Money +----------+ Like the real world neopia has a currency. The currency is called Neopoints or NP for short. NP is one of the first priority's you should have after looking after your pet, which costs NP anyway. Everyday you can earn NP from you shop, games and find NP. Make sure you check your shop till for np and play as many games as possible. After you get all this NP be sure to put most of it in the bank. If you do this most days you will become richer quicker than you think. Some people don't like making money that much. Remember everyone is different. You may make NP slower than other neopians depending how much time you spend on it. On the school holidays I can make about 300,000NP in two weeks but when school is on I only make about 100,000 in two weeks some times even less. 6.2: Avoid Scammers +-------------------+ Scammers are horrible people who don't understand neopets and take the game way to seriously. They don't understand how easy it is and instead of hard work and determination they will try and get your password and steal you account. NEVER GIVE ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD! Here is a list of the most common scams around. FAKE LOGIN Wow you see a fish negg for 100np in someone's shop. You click it and you have seemed to log out you quickly attempt to login and buy it. This is a scam on the fake login look at the address it will have a different address than neopets.com. What the scammer has done was put the items in their shop using html and link them to their fake login page hosted by geocites, homestead etc. And when you attempt to login it sends the username and password you entered to the scammer. My advice... Be careful! If it seems to good to be true than it probably is!! FAKE THENEOPETSTEAM ACCOUNTS You get a neomail. The sender says he is a member of the neopets team. He requests your password in order to save your account receive a prize, etc. Neopets will never ask for your password and they don't need to because they have everyone's details stored in their database. Anyone asking for your password is a scammer simple as that. Neopets will never contact you via MSN Messenger or AIM also. The account for neopets is theneopetsteam. EMAIL SCAMS Never let anyone make you change your email in your details to their email address they will not be able to get you rich or anything like that all they will do is send the password to their email and take your account. COOKIE STEALERS These are nasty, as the scam is well hidden in a web page, when you go to the web page you cookie containing the neopets login information is sent to the scammer, they then use the cookie to enter the account. In other words don't give out your password. If you think you have just given out your password change it straight away by going to the help section. For more info be sure to check the wall of shame for the latest scams. For more info on scams be sure to visit thewallofshame. 6.3: Your shop +--------------+ If you want to make it big in neopia you need to look after your shop. Always keep it stocked up and try to research just about every item in the shop wizard and upsize if you need to but never upsize over 100 unless you are rich and like to stock up thousands of items. But having a big shop does have its ups. More people will come if your shop is bigger(they will go to the market place) But only do this once you have enough NP Also set out a good layout for your shop. You can find pre made layouts at various fan sites or create your own with HTML. Also check You're till everyday and put the NP you earn in the bank. Never stock up on just junk or 1np items always keep a number of items in your shop and you should do just fine. I wouldn't recommend restocking over 350 items and having large images and music as it makes it hard to load for users with slower connections, which will annoy customers. 6.2: Daily Duties +-----------------+ Every day there are small things to do. Some of these things can only be done once a day or once every two hours. Make sure you can do them when ever possible. WHEEL OF EXCITEMENT The best thing in Faerieland! You can go here and spin the wheel once every two hours it costs 100np to play but you can win up to 10,000np it is very worth it! Sometimes you can land on bad stuff and your pet can get sick or an item gets stolen so always have items in the SDB (Safety Deposit Box). If your pet gets sick try at the healing springs. You can play every 2 hours! TOMBOLA This is great and free of charge. You can find it at mystery island. You can win codestones and large sums of money. Sometimes the person who runs it isn't there or needs donations. You can try the tombola once a day. You should win about 3 times a week or two on average. FRUIT MACHINE Located at the lost desert the fruit machine is a fantastic thing and can be done for free once a day. You can win lots of money from here. I'm not sure what items you get. I got a pet pet once and 2500np! I think you can win codestones from here too! This is harder to win big prizes. SHRINE The shrine is located at the lost desert and can be visited once every twelve hours. You can win lots of prizes like dubloons here. You can also make you pet stronger here and get it faster etc. SCRATCHCARD KIOSK Located at terror mountain you can go here every two hours. You can buy a scratch card for 600np it is a lucky dip so you can be sure what you will get. I only recommend this for people who can afford to do this but trust me it is worth it. You will win more than you loose. If you get a really rare scratch card like the icetraviganza scratch card or another rare scratch card i wouldn't scratch it. I would rather sell it for over 80,000np but winning the jackpot would be nice too! But it's up to you. The better the scratch card the better the prizes! There is a limit to how many you can buy, you can buy one every 6 hours! SNOWAGER The snowager is great. When he is asleep you can go and take something. He is asleep at certain times in the day so be sure to record when he sleeps. You usually win snowballs but can win rare scratch cards and negg too! Your pet can get hurt sometimes but not that bad. LAB RAY The lab ray can only be accessed if you have the full map. Go to www.neopets.com/lab.phtml and choose a pet to zap. This will make your pet stronger. But beware if you want your pet to stay like it is i would not recommend it. As it can change your pets colour, species and sex and sometimes make your pet weaker. Overall it is worth it. ADVENT CALENDAR Every December come by here once a day to receive your free gift! It can be items, neopoints or even both! Don't miss out on the freebees! WHEEL OF MEDIOCRITY This aint that good however I will put it up here, it is just like the wheel of excitement, it is located in Tyrannia DESERTED FAIRGROUNDS SCRATCH CARD KIOSK Located in the Deserted Fairground in the Haunted woods, it is just like the Ice cave kiosk, however the cards cost more. WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE Just like the other two wheels except this is a bit unlucky. However you can win some good plushies from this. THE GIANT OMLETTE This is found in Tyrannia this give you a piece of omlette a day, good for feeding pets. WHEEL OF MONOTONY Another wheel, give it a spin and try to win something, doesn't seem as unlucky as some of the other wheels. +--------+ 7: Games +--------+ Games can be fun and challenging but they all do one thing in common, you get NP from them all! Some games give out more NP than others and i will tell you how much it is worth to play and how to play it. Most games are free however there is a few that cost np. Playing games can give you a good deal of neopoints! There is also a featured game for the day, which you get double the points from! So if you think you are up to it play it and earn more! 7.1:Puzzle Games +----------------+ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ARMADA Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP, Items trophies (Comps) Competition: Other neopians Limit: None Type: Web Browser Description: This is a multiplayer game. You can host your own game or play a hosted game. I haven't had the time to try this out but I will shortly. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ATTACK OF THE MARBLE MEN Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: Quite a nice little game. Barry the Baby Shoyru was playing Marbles last night - and forgot to put them away. Now they are very, very angry! Help Barry guide his marbles back to his toy box before they escape and wreak havoc upon Neopia! Playing is simple - use the mouse to click on a bouncer (little triangles that make up the background). The Marblemen will bounce off the bouncer. Your aim - to get all the Marblemen back into the toy box! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CAPTION COMPETITION Difficulty: Depends what the picture is Prizes: 2000NP,Rare item, trophy Competition: Other neopians Limit: None Type: Send Description: The caption competition is where you have to think up the best caption for the current picture they have on their site. It doesn't just go on the site it has to be approved first. The person who gets the most votes by other players wins the prize. You can also vote or other players or yourself. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CELLBLOCK Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: Computer Opponents Limit: None Type: Web Browser Description: In the dungeons of the Darigan Citadel an eccentric (and, of course, evil) prison warden, Master Vex, forces his inmates to play a game of his invention - Cellblock. He keeps telling the prisoners that if anybody can ever beat him they will be freed from the dungeon, but nobody has ever won a single game against him... which is most probably a good thing, as he is lying through his teeth :) This game is pretty hard, it's sort of like that connect four game but you have to have five in a row to win. I haven't played this much yet but ill tell more when i do so. Overall it seems like a good game. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CHEAT Difficulty: Easy to hard Prizes: NP, Battle cards, trophies Competition: Three computer opponents Limit: None Type: Web Browser Description: This is one of my favourite game and my speciality. Cheat is a game of quick thinking and knowledge and a bit of luck too. The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards. To make a move select what cards you want to put in the pile (4 max). Then select what cards you say you are putting in the pile. Cheating is when you say you have put in lets say a ten but the real card you put in is a 6 for example. But people can catch you! I don't recommend cheating unless you have to. If you can accuse people of cheating. If the opponent draws out lets say a three then the next person plays 3-4 threes. That person is cheating. You can pay as long as you like and make as many NP as you like! You only win about 400NP every round won! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CHEMISTRY FOR BEGINNERS Difficulty: Easy Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: The object of the game is to build molecules from the atoms given to you. You only have a limited number of atoms available, so place them carefully! Refer to the chart to see which molecules can be built. When you reach the needed score for that level, you will advance to the next level where more advanced molecules can be built. Avoid unstable compounds - if you build one of them, or if you run out of atoms to build with, you lose the game! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CLIFFHANGER Difficulty: You can choose Prizes: NP and your pet's intelligence can increase! Competition: Three computer opponents Limit: None Type: Web Browser Description: Pretty good game to play. You can earn 1500NP a day. You are certain to win every time if you have the answers in front of you. Its like hangman you have a sentence to guess and a list of letter you can guess that are in the sentence if you get a guess wrong the little Tuskaninny goes closer to the edge of the cliff too many wrong guess and he falls off hence the name cliffhanger. I have also seen a few progs that help you but I haven't used them. I don't think you get frozen but don't trust me I wouldn't know. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- CODEBREAKERS Difficulty: Pretty Tough Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: A very hard game. Sometimes it's easier than others but most of the time it is tough for me that is it may be easier for you. You have to guess the code, which consists of four stones. You get ten guesses before it is game over. The colours are Red, Yellow, White, Green, Blue, and Brown. You can have the same colour in one code. After every guess it tells you which ones are in the right spot and ones that are in the code but are in the wrong position. You can only earn 500NP a play. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- DECKSWABBER Difficulty: Gets harder as the game progresses Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: I don't like this game much. But you people might. You are a blumamroo. And you have to sort of claim every square on each level to pass. at the start they stay permanently changed but later on the blocks can get changed back if you land on it again after you have already changed it. There are also enemies to watch out for. You can get dubloons on the game which gives you a load of points! On most levels there is a special way to do them I may offer those solutions later on if i have time. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- DESTRUCT-O-MATCH Difficulty: I'd say medium Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: One of the best flash games. The aim is to get enough points to progress to the next level by blowing up pairs of coloured blocks. You can set up a big number of coloured one together. The more blown up at the same time the more points. Blow up by selecting by clicking once and click again to blow them up. If you don't have much left or none at all you will get bonuses. If you don't get bonuses you probably wont get past the second level so just start again till you get a bonus. You don't have to listen to me you know. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- FAERIE CROSSWORD Difficulty: Not hard with answers Prizes: NP(200,400,600) Competition: None Limit: 1 Play per day Type: Web Browser Description: Pretty hard without answers. Get the answers from various cheat sites and it's a breeze. I don't play this game as much as i should because you can get 600NP a day! The crossword changes everyday. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- FETCH! Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP,items? Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: Hard. I don't play this game and i don't want to because it looks stupid. You get thrown into a maze and you have to find an item and get out. You have a limited number ofmoves I think. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- GADGADSGAME Difficulty: Medium Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: This game is a bit like Tetris but different. You have fruits and have to match them one bomb fruit comes down. If the fruit is the same as the one as it is placed next to it will blow them up. So you see it is a bit different to Tetris. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- GEOS Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: Another one of the multiplayer games. I also haven't played this yet. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ICE CAVES PUZZLE Difficulty: Bloody Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 Plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: So hard there is no point playing it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- KIKO MATCH II Difficulty: Easy Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: Well like the first Kiko match that they took off the site. You have a set of cards and have to get rid of them all by matching each of them with pairs but you have a time limit and the game gets harder and harder as the game progresses. It is like the game called memory. This game can be tough for people with slow modems and slow computers. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- LENNY CONUNDRUM Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP, Items, trophies! Competition: None Limit: 1 Try Type: Web Browser Description: You are given a hard riddle like puzzle that you must figure out, some are harder than others, most are pretty tricky. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- MATHS NIGHTMARE Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: This is a remake of the old ufo maths game that was taken down. This game can be for the mathematically challenged. I'm average at maths so i don't do that well. You have maths problems coming down at you and if they hit the bottom you loose so you much destroy them by answering the problem that's coming down at you. I suggest using a calculator (heh, heh). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- MEEPIT JUICE BREAK Difficulty: Each Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3 plays per day Type: Flash Game Description: It's not just Neopets that need to eat and drink. At this home for lost Meepits, it's up to you to make sure all the little Meepit children get their daily Juppie Juice. In this game you are controlling the Juice-O-Matic, an overly complicated machine designed to deliver fresh Juppie Juice to Meepits. Click on the each pipe to rotate it clockwise so that there is a unbroken pipe between the Juppie Juice and the Meepits. Sometimes you will have to mix colours together to create a new one! If a Meepit drinks Juppie Juice that is the same colour as them you get extra points (they are quite particular about what they drink). However, they will be satisfied with any colour. If a Meepit is not fed in time you will lose a life. Lose three lives and it's game over. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- KACHEEKERS Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: Other neopians Limit: None Type: Multiplayer Description: This is just like a checkers game. This is a multiplayer game meaning you can play other players on the site! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- MERISTONES Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: None Type: Web Browser Description: This game is kinda hard and complicated. Be sure to see the rules before playing. Well you have to throw these rock things into these cups if they land in your home cup you get to keep them. The one who runs out of rocks looses. Like I said see the rules first coz I Can't help you with this one yet!! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- NEGGSWEEPER Difficulty: Hard Prizes: NP Competition: None Limit: 3000NP Per Day Type: Flash Game Description: This game is the same as the game minesweeper that is found on practically all computers. It had four triangular sides, and a square base. There are now many Gebmids around the Lost Desert, but Sutek's was the first. To stop people getting at Sutek's riches (millions of Neopoints), his advisors placed a combination lock on the tomb. Strange symbols adorned an impassable door. For the person who could figure out the pattern to unlock the tomb, well, he would be the wealthiest person alive! To play Sutek's Tomb you must swap two adjacent tiles (by clicking on each one in turn). Your aim - to score points by getting three, four or five tiles in a row. Set up combinations to earn bonus points. The Lucky Coin is indeed lucky, as it acts as a wildcard, and the Bomb will destroy all the symbols in a row, but only if it falls more than two blocks. Also check out the user shops for some great deals. Use the shop wizard to find the best deals. 9.2: Guilds +-------------+ Guilds can be a good way to win items. You can join a guild or if you think you are good enough you can make your own for people to join. Most guilds have competitions and stuff. Watch out some guilds are made by scammers and are used to get your password. The guild HQ can be found at the Neopia Central. 9.3: Neodeck +------------+ You can have your very own collection of cards! When you want to start collecting Trading cards you can place them in your neodeck. Wonder if neopets are going to make a game where you can battle people with your cards? We will have to see, wont we! 9.4: BattleDome +---------------+ Are your pets strong? Are your pet's equipped? If they are you can Battle in the Battledome! You can battle another user or play the one player BattleDome. Wars also use the battledome! This is no doubt one of the funniest parts of neopets! 9.5: Pet-Pets +-------------+ Pet-Pets are little creatures that you can give to your pet to play with as their pet. These can sometimes cost a lot of NP. Once you have one give it to your pet. You can also talk to it at anytime! Some can even help you in the battle dome!! 9.6: Neohome +------------+ This is really a waste of money but hey its fun. You can build your own house. You need to install stuff like carpets and security. You can also put furniture in your rooms. And to make it look beautiful be sure to add a lovely looking garden :) 9.7: Auctions +-------------+ You can get some really good deals at the auctions. You know how an auction goes don't you? The owner of the item puts it in the auction for a certain price. Users can bid NP on this item. Who ever has the highest bid at the end of the auction gets the item. Dont bid over the price that you could buy it for in a shop!! 9.8: Trading +------------+ You can trade items between users at the trading post. Both users have to agree on the trade before it can commence. You can find some good stuff here too. Don't trade any other way!! 9.9: The Neopian Times +----------------------+ Bored? We all do get bored at some stage. If you do be sure to read the Neopian Times online newspaper. Where it has articles, comics, editorials and lots more!! If you think you have a story good enough you can submit a comic, question or article to their email! You also get a trophy if your story is featured in the next issue. 9.10: Stamp Albums +------------------+ Here you stick in your stamps that you buy. You cant get em back out though. It's just a waste of NP i would just sell them or trade if i was you. You can always show em off in your shop and if you don't want it just sell or trade it :) There are many rare stamps that cost over 100,000! 9.11: The Stock Market +----------------------+ The stock market is a test of ones patience! You can buy shares of certain companies in neopia the shares have to cost at least 15np per share. You can buy up to 1000 shares per day. The stock market is a great way to make easy money but it can take months till you can sell your shares. You only sell your shares if the price has gone up for that particular stock. The percentage should be the green when you want to sell. Example: You see NEGG at 15 per share but you see it has gone up by 5% you buy some shares lets say 1000 shares. That would cost you 15,000NP. Now you check the company to see if it costs more that when you bought it. Now lets say it went up by 30.05% and the shares costed 40 per share. If you sold the shares you had you could sell them for 40,000NP. Sometimes the company can get really poor and will take a long time to recover. Make sure you do some research at neodaq.com into the company first to see if it has more of a chance of rising. Also see the Neopian Times as the staff usually leave clues about which one will rise soon. Be sure to look out for a guide to the stock market here soon :) 9.12: Chatting +--------------+ Chatting in the message boards can be very fun. Its also a great way to make challengers or advertise your shop. Watch out for scammers though! There are also a lot of dirty people on the chat, which is really disappointing. Don't SPAM, Attempt to hack or scam etc or you will be frozen!!! The chat has been redone by the staff and looks more like a forum now, still the rules are the same. If you want a good place to chat just go the gameFAQ's Neopets message boards :) +----------------+ 10: Pet Profiles +----------------+ Here we have a list of every pet on neopets at the moment. These wars bring chaos and pain and it is up to the pets of neopia and their owners to destroy these enemies! 11.1: What is the war/how it works +----------------------------------+ Often when a Major new world is created there is a plot to it. Usually the plot leads to a war. Evil creatures come out to fight you, you can fight them by going to the one player section and challenging them. Some are harder than others, you get points from beating them, however some give you more points than others depending on their difficultly. 11.2: Prepare +-------------+ If you want to fight and do well in the war you need to do a couple of things to prepare. You need to train your pet as much as you can. Do this any way you can (i recommend using codestones at mystery island or dubloons at the acadamy, or if you don't have the NP use the labray and zap your pet). Then after you pet is strong teach it some abilities using faeries! After that what you have to do is to buy battle dome items for the battle. This should help you well in battle! You need a fair bit of NP to make it big and successful in the war. 11.3: Shop stocking tips +------------------------+ If you want to make some quick money you could stock up on items like codestones and other battle weapons before the war. The sought after items will increase in price during the war! 11.4: Prizes +------------+ There are some amazing prizes for the users who do well in the war. The person who beats the BOSS usually gets a heap of prizes. It's worth the trouble though! +---------------+ 12: Unreal Tips +---------------+ So you need some pointers on how to make some good money. Firstly you need to be dedicated to making NP. Remember to take breaks though you cant let rule your whole life :) 12.1: Shop Restocking +---------------------+ Now that the restocks are random its a bit tougher to get good items. But if you stick to one shop for a while you are sure to catch the restock. Do some research for what items you should buy. Buy items, which sell for cheaper in the main shops than in the user shops. Check using the shop wizard. Buy some of the items you have researched and sell them higher than what you bought it for. This is what I like to call profit :) Never sell them for less for it is your loss. The food, magic, toy, chocolate and bookshops are a good place to do this!! Most of the NP you make comes from your shop! Also a great thing to do is to get a watch you don't use and set the time to NST (Neopet Standard Time) and watch the watch. Every minute you refresh a few times. Do this and you are certain to get to all the restocks. I use this all the time and I find it's quite useful. 12.2: Playing Games +-------------------+ Some people don't realise this but playing a lot of games can get you a lot of neopoints. Find some games you like and are good at and play them as much as you can daily. Some people earn over 15,000NP every day just from the Games. Add that on to your shop restocks and you got a hell of an amount of neopoints. 12.3: Money Making Tips +-----------------------+ Well you already know how to restock and to play games now. Remember to bank all of your earnings. I always have 1000NP out. You can choose but never more than 5000NP unless you plan to buy something expensive. Also remember to collect the freebees daily things like the tombola, the shrine, fruit machine, collecting interest, etc. And try to spin the wheel of excitement as much as possible. I also love the scratch cards and usually make at least 50,000NP weekly profit from them! Again remember to bank your earnings! 12.4: Retired Items +-------------------+ An item that is known as retired is an item that can no longer be obtained using the main shops as time goes on these items can get very rare and very expensive. What vie noticed is that neopets tends to retire paintbrushes. My tip for you if you have the NP's to spare is to buy a few different paint brushes now and put them in the SDB (Safety deposit box). Usually after awhile the item goes retired and becomes 3-5 times more as expensive!! Please only do this if you want to and have the NP to spare. (NOTE: Most paintbrushes are very expensive now) 12.5: Making a daily plan +-------------------------+ Making a daily plan is important. What you have to do is find about 7-10 games you are good or ok at. Write or type these games in a list and list how many NP you earn on average per game add these up (some games can be played 3 times a day, one time a day, etc) then add in what you usually make from restocks each day. If you do the stock market add how many neopoints it gives (or takes from) you. Add the freebees (tombola, fruit machine etc). If you train your pet or upgrade your shop daily you can deduct this from your final total. Add the total up and the answer is how many neopoints (on average) you will earn daily! +----------------+ 13: Chat Smilies +----------------+ I have decided to put all the smiles that are used in the chat. So if you ever forget how to do a smile face just come here. If I missed any please email or neomail me. (These may have changed with the new chat room, the section will be updated) FACE SMILIES Smile: :) Big Smile: :D Sad: :( Wink: ;) Fangs: :K Tongue out: :P Mouth open: :o Angel: 0:-) Sunglasses: B) MISC Star: *star* Swag bag: *swagbag* Sloth: *sloth* SPECIAL OCCASIONS Snowflake: *snowflake* Present: *present* Santa: *santa* xmas tree: *xmastree* Red nose: *rednose* Holly: *holly* Bauble: *bauble* Pumpkin: *pumpkin* Witch: *witch* Ghost: *ghost* Mistletoe: *mistletoe* Snowman *snowman* NEOPETS Blumaroo: *blumaroo* JubJub: *jubjub* Techo: *techo* Scorchio: *scorchio* Usul: *usul* Kacheek: *kacheek* Poogle: *poogle* Lupe: *lupe* Shoyru: *shoyru* Buzz: *buzz* Eyrie: *eyrie* Kau: *kau* Acara: *acara* Flotsam: *flotsam* Kiko: *kiko* Kyrii: *kyrii* Meerca: *meerca* Bruce: *bruce* Aisha: *aisha* Cybunny: *cybunny* Chia: *chia* CARDS Heart: ♥ Spades: ♠ Clubs: %clubs; BIG SMILIES Warf: *warf* Angelpuss: *Angelpuss* +--------------------+ 14: Neopian Calendar +--------------------+ Here is the neopian event calendar! |-------------------------------| |The month of Sleeping (January)| |-------------------------------| Jan 3rd - Aisha Day Jan 11th - Festival of Buzz. I have also written a Walkthrough on how you could play the game. If you want to put a guide here please email it to me, thankyou. 16.1: Beginners Walkthrough +---------------------------+ Ok Ive decided to write a huge Walkthough, this is for people who just sign up, hopefully this walkthough can help a few people become succsessful, this can be taken as a rough guide, as there is no wrong way to play neopets (unless it involves scamming :P). Firstly if you have not yet signed up do so, fill in your details, choose your account name and password and agree with the Terms of service (TOS) Now it is time to create a pet, choose what species you want and then choose its name, it is hard to get an original name nowdays, with the amount of created pets and all. If the stats the pet is given arent any good you can reroll the stats, however it may lower the stats compared to the stats you were given before, it is random. Create the pet and there you go. Be sure to open a bank, it is crutial in making Np, not to mention to protect all your NP. You should only have a little bit of money, to turn that money into a higher amount we can do a few things. a) You can open a shop and attempt to sell some items for profit, you will need to make the shop, which will cost a little bit of money. You can give it a name and a description. Buy items from either the Main neopian shops or other users shops. The main shops restock at random, users restock their own shops. I suggest you use the main shops for now, but when you are more experienced. You can find profit from users who sell their items too low. When restocking at the main shops choose one or two shops you like, then research into those shops, you can do this buy searching the item in the auctions, shop wizzard or trading post. I recommend the shop wiz unless the item is Unbuyable (UB). Now after researching you should have an idea of some good items to restock. Aim to buy these, it is easier if you have a fast modem. Also if none of the high profit items are there try to go for the smaller profits. After you buy some items you can now put it into your shop, make sure you search the wiz before pricing, just to make sure if you have the right price. Now price them higher than you bought them for buy try be near the lowest on the wiz, people will buy it now. After a while check your till. If you were successful in selling, you should have some money there. You can take out your money. Put it in the bank, if you need to you can use a bit of it for restocking. Keep doing this and you shall gain profit. b) To make a little bit of money, you can play games. Although the NP isn't as good as restocking, it can make a nice ammount of money. Play games you are good at, but play some others aswell. Put your earnings in the bank or use for restocking, stockmarket. Chance games can give good profit, however are based on luck. c) The stockmarket is a great way to make np. However you can also loose money just as easily. Search through some shares and look for one that is pretty low, say it is at 15 (You cannot buy any shares at a price lower than 15). Say you buy 1000 shares in BOOM at 15, this would cost you 15,000 as 1000 X 15 is 15k. Check your portfolio, there you will see your stocks you have invested in. It tells you what the current price the stock is, and how much you bought it for. It also has the percentage of profit, loss you have. If the stock is in green and is a lot higher than what you bought it for, go ahead and sell it. You now have a good profit. You can do long invests, where the profit takes a while, or go for quick little profits, which is also a good option. Now you should have a bit more Np compared to what you started with. Keep restocking to further gain more NP. You can keep playing games and the stockmarket, dont stop the profits :) If you keep doing this for awhile you should have a fair bit of NP now. You can either invest into your shop and upgrading, buying better items. Or the stockmarket for further profits. Or you can invest in these other things. a) The battledome can be great fun, however it is a lot funner with a stronger pet. You can train your pet to gain strength. This can cost a bit of NP so I hope you have it. Buy codestones if you wish to train at the training school. If you want to train and the Acadamy you need Dubloons. Both can be bought from the shop wiz or won elsewhere. The training can last a few hours, longer for the academy. However they stop training your pet at a certain level. Also your endurance and strength, etc cannot be more than double of your level. There are also some items that can boost your pets stats, such as some special neggs. Also the Lab ray which can be accessed if you have completed the lab map, is a great way to boost stats, although it can have some unwanted side effects. Abilities are mostly useless, however there are some good ones, get these by being blessed by a bottled faerie. Also some good battledome items are needed, but getting good items aint cheap. b) You can invest in some things that arent important but are used for looks, such as neohomes, and the neogardens. Build buildings and place items you buy inside. You can also plant a garden around the house. There are some things such as trading cards that are just being used. There are many other fun things to do, firstly look aroung neopia, for some great games, shops and other cool things. When you are more experience you can use the trading post and auctions. The trading post is a great way to gain profit and is similar to restocking, however it is also very different. You search through for specific items. You can then place a trade for that item you need to make sure you are bidding what the owner wants, make sure you check the wish list. If all is good, you should get the item. You can also trade items, and sometimes people will trade it for more it is worth, it takes skill. Auctioning is really ment for fast modems as bids go down to the last second. Sometimes idiots put thier items really low and hope for it to rise. Sometimes it does not and you can get some good profits. You can see the auctions that are nearly finished or search through using the auction wizard. You can also put items up for auctions, athough the end price is not always as much profit as you want. Remember the freebes like tombola, fruit machine, lab ray (if you have the map), shrine, and some that cost little such as the wheels, scratchcards, etc. These can give you a high profit. There are loads of more fun things to do like chat, hoarding items, etc. Hoarding requires a very experienced user. As you play you will find lots more things to do. I will now leave it up to you, good luck. 16.2: Restocking guide +----------------------+ Here is a guide for newbies who want to know the basics or restocking. It will only be covering the basics of restocking. WHAT IS RESTOCKING? Ok the first question a newbie or a non restocker would ask is restocking? Restocking is simply when a user places an item they have recieved into thier shop, then other users will go to the shop and buy the item the user placed in there. However is not that simple, and is harder than people probaly think. WHAT IS FIRST? First you should make sure you have opened a shop, if you dont have the NP just play some games or something like that. I recommend getting it to at least 10 to 20, as you want it to appear on the shop wiz. Also if you are new, open a bank account, as this is where your profits will go. WHAT SHOULD I KNOW? You should know how to research prices of items, you can do this by using the shop wiz for buyables, and by browsing the auctions and trading posts for unbuyables. I KNOW THE BASICS, WHAT DO I DO NOW? Now that you have opened a shop, you need to put some items in it. You can get items from a number of places, usually from games and shops. We will be concentrating on buying from shops/auctions/trading post, as this is where most profits lie and takes the most skill. BUYING FROM THE SHOPS There are two types of shops where you can buy items from, the main neopian shops or user shops. The difference is that the Main shops automatically restock. The user shops as you probably have guessed are shops owned by the users, including yourself. The users do all the restocking, profits may not appear as much in user shops but there is some money there to be made sometimes. A) THE MAIN SHOPS These are automaticaly restocked at random, they are great for getting profits from, however a hell of a lot of users restock which means it is hard for you to buy them, basically users with a fast modem will do a lot better that those with a slow modem, however some people are very skilled and can make great buys over and over again with a slower modem. To buy an item all you have to do is click the item, and click ok on the popup, a haggle screen will popup, here you can haggle for the price. All of this must be done quickly if you are going to get good items. It is recommended that you choose a shop and restock there, you may be wondering how the hell am I supposed to know what to buy? Well here is how, use the shop wiz to find out what you want or the trading post/auctions, if the item is unbuyable. B) USER SHOPS This is a bit easier, but in some ways it is a bit harder too! Profits are most likely to be a lot slower when buying from user shops, but there is the odd newbie who accidents prices a expensive item for cheap, or someone accidently sells it for the wrong price. Just search the shop wizard untill you see an item that is WAY cheaper than the others above it. OK I HAVE BOUGHT ITEMS THAT I CAN SELL FOR PROFIT, NOW WHAT? Just go to the inventory, click on the item and select put in shop. If you havent made a shop yet, you better do it now. Check the till after awhile and you should see some money there, use a little bit of it for more restocking but put most of it in the bank. You should see your bank account rise :) You can get a lot better at restocking as you familiarize yourself with the items, if you have a fast connection, you have a solid advantage over the slower internet restockers although it ain't impossible to get some good items with a 56k. OTHER THINGS TO KNOW You can get restock banned if you restock to much, when you are restock banned you won't see any items restock. To see if you are in fact restock banned just go to the tiki tack in Mystery Island, as that shop is never sold out. Users can be banned for as long as weeks! Also some nicknames you should know... RS - This means restocking RSBAN - Restocking ban I hope this guide has given you newbies some idea of how to restock. I know the
guide ain't too detailed but just stick at it and you will get better. 16.3: Meerca Chase Guide +------------------------+ To play Meerca Chase you must move the Meerca around the maze eating the Happiness Neggs using the arrow keys. The more you eat, the longer your tail gets! If you bump into the walls, or hit your own tail then you lose. The more Neggs you eat, the more points. Good Luck! Remember, stay away from the Red Neggs. If you pick up one of those, you lose! Meerca chase is a great, simple little game. I enjoy it most out of all the games. If you aren't sure how to play this, you must need help. Anyway I decided to write this small guide for Meerca Chase. BASICS Most of you would know of that addictive game called snake, an old arcade game? It is now on most mobiles. Meerca chase is basically just like that game, although there are a couple of added features. When the game starts up, you can choose what difficulty you want. If this is your first time go and choose easy or medium, if you are a little more experienced or feel like a challenged choose hard. Each difficulty is faster than the other, and each gives more points than the other. The aim is to grab as many yellow (happiness) neggs as you can. Sometimes some bonus neggs pop up which give you more points. Be sure to dodge the red neggs as it is game over if you touch one. You can also loose the game by hitting the walls, just like in the real snake game. You control the meerca with the arrow keys, it is as simple as that. TIPS Try going in a square motion, this is to help stop you from trapping yourself. Always look ahead and be sure never to trap yourself. Always go for the easy path, be patient. The game can be a lot easier on a slower computer. If the yellow negg has appeared behind you when you start, you will most likely get a fish negg in that game. That was a very small guide I know, but maybe it might have helped you a bit, maybe (probably) not. +------------+ 17: Old News +------------+ Here is the old news, no point really reading this but hey it is your choice. 5/10/03 Current Version 3.7 Added two detailed guides for the detailed guide section, a restock guide and a meerca chase guide, more comming soon.
