What's New This is the first version of the guide. (version 0.9) 2. Introduction This is a Knight Guide for the game Tibia. This information is coming from me; an experienced knight who's sharing his experiences with you. I have learnt the ups and downs of being a knight and I'm sharing my recommendations with you. I have quit with my knight so I decided I should share some information with you on my travels. Keep in mind this guide is recommended only if you have a premium account. Another note: you should not just begin this game if you're going to read this FAQ and you should be familiar with the basics and such. (Cities, etc~) 3. About Knights Knights are the toughest and bravest warriors in Tibia. They fear nothing and will raise their weapon in any situation. Knights have loads of HP and capacity. However they lack in their magic and fast exp gaining at higher levels. Make up your mind before you choose a knight. It will stick with you for the rest of your life in tibia unless you play another character. Okay, so you've created your first character in Rook. Just read the rookgaard guide which is in the Tibia section of GameFAQS. Follow that and get out of Rook as soon as possible. Training in rook is futile so don't bother with that. 4. Level 8-18(Main) When going to main as a premium account, I suggest you become a citizen of Edron. It is a peaceful city with very little PKs and such. I don't recommend you go to ANY other city until level 20 at least. You may have friends in those cities, but trust me, it's risky as a low level because you can die easily and lose your hard earned cash. Once in Edron, just above the temple is a NPC named Willard. Buy a battle hammer from him for 350gp. Don't worry; we won't stick with club for long. South of the depot is a sewer; go inside it. Here is what you'll need for this journey. -Chain armor (Rook, Quest) -Plate Shield (Rook, Mino) -Leather/Studded Legs (Rook, Quest) -Boots (Rook/Main) not as necessary as the others -Legion/Viking Helmet (Rook, Skeleton, Quest) -Battle Hammer (Edron, 350gp) -Backpack -Rope and Shovel -Light Ambience set to 100% (Options, Graphics, Advanced~~) Travel along under the paths and once on land again go north into the Troll cave. This place is crawling with experience and you will gain most of your earlier levels here. Of course it will take some time to kill the trolls with your skills. Use full attack on each troll; make sure you have 2 trolls max on you as 3 will break your defense causing you to lose more damage. Your skills shall go up rapidly and once you have 22-25 you will start to do bigger damages to them, gaining more gold and experience. Hunt here until you have 2k cash. With that cash, open trade and buy a knight axe. Careful not to get scammed and most likely you will need boat money to travel there and back so have that prepared. Once you have your knight axe (you should be around level 12 or so) go to the magic tower (east in town explore a little) and buy Utevo Lux (Light) and use it to get magic level 1. Once you're ml 1, buy light healing (Exura). Occasionally people will enter your cave. If they do enter and say leave and start hitting you, DON'T HIT BACK. I mean it, don't hit back. Most likely they have friends and you will just die if you react. Just simply leave the cave and return a little later. Hunt trolls until level 18. Make sure your skills are 40/40. If they aren't, train on trolls with a weak axe weapon. Rotate from full defense to balanced to full attack to see which style is more effective. Remember, you want many hits but you want them to be very small hits (1-4 damage). Also you will be traveling to the depot every so often to put your gold in the depot, as it will fill up your capacity. With the cash that got you to level 18, buy plate armor (400-500gp), plate legs (500gp), dwarven shield (buy it for 215gp for MAX price) and a steel helmet (price ranges in trade). So, when you're at the depot you should have the following: -Plate Armor -Steel Helmet -Dwarven Shield -Boots -Knight Axe -Backpack -Rope and Shovel -GP left over -Plate Legs -40/40 Skills -Level 18 -Exura -Utevo Lux 5. Level 18-25 Do the desert quest at lvl 20. Bring a team you can trust, so you don't get PK'd and remember to bring the necessary items (Crossbow, Spellbook, Apple, and Sword) Now we can move on to the next hunting category. South-east in Edron are rotworms. You should be able to kill these pretty easy with the stuff you have. There is a hole south of the tower-like house very southeast in Edron. Go down, and hunt to level 25. Your skills will probably rack up a little, and they give nice gold too. With whatever gold you earned, put it into your depot for safekeeping. You won't be needing it now. It's time to train. You have a variety of choices with ways to train. Monk: You can ask a level 27 mage to summon a monk for you. You will need 2 monsters hitting the monk ALWAYS, NO MATTER WHAT, and 2 monsters hitting you for your shielding. No you don't need 3 as it is futile towards your shielding gain (unless very low shielding (20's~). Use a hatchet on the monk and experiment around with it to see which style won't kill the monk and which will hit it every 7 hits. You can train on a monk no matter what your skills are. I have 91 sword and I only train on monks. Ghoul: Same as monk but level 25 required. Use a much weaker weapon on full defense. Ghoul will start getting useless at around skills 55~. This is my least favourite style to train. Player on Player: Just experiment around with this. However once you hit someone you can't enter a depot and they can kill you! Only do this with a friend you trust and never keep your eq in your backpack, keep it in your depot as you'll be taking some off. Train on rots: Rather slow skill increase but you gain exp and gp from it. As I said before, experiment with different weapons and such on rots. 6. Level 25-30 You shall train, train, train, until you have skills 60/60. I know it seems useless and it will take some patience, but believe me it will pay off in the end. Once you have skills 60/60, head off to Ankrahmun on the boat. Go to a larva cave. There are 5 larva caves but only 3 are near town. You will go to the one directly north of town. To find it, walk north of town a little and you'll see a hole. Dig it and go inside. The exp rate in here will be around 12k an hour. The gold isn't that good but it will suffice. Keep in mind that larvas will poison you. Don't panic, as you eat the meat from the larva and use exura you will easily gain your health back. Poison heal is useless as the poison from a larva takes off 1 at a time. Don't go down the hole in the larva cave as there are scarabs there, which we will see at a different time. Hunt larva until you are level 30 and then train to 65/65. You now definitely need a major equipment upgrade and cash. With all the cash you have buy a crown helmet (2.5), Knight Armor (5k), and a Fire Axe (8k). If you don't have enough cash for this, then go back to rotworms until you have enough and collect the maces and swords and sell them to Willard (Mace 30gp, Sword 25gp) You will also have to start buying ultimate healing runes from rune sellers (Ankrahmun, Thais, Venore, Liberty Bay.. sell them) Each backpack is 3.5k Once you have this, you are ready to move on. 1. Crown Helmet (2.5k) 2. Knight Armor (5k) 3. Knight Legs (6k) 4. Fire Axe (8k) 5. Boots 6. Guardian Shield (2k) 7. Rope, Shovel, Backpack 8. 2 backpacks of UHs 9. Skills 65/65 10. Exana Pox (Poison Heal) 7. Level 30-50 Now we will start to hunt scarabs. But before that do the paradox quest. [PRDX] Reward is 10K. It'll help you a little. Go back to the same larva cave you were at and go down a hole. In this level, there are scarabs and larva. You will need a little tactic for hunting scarabs. They drop nasty little poison fields which make you lose 5hp, 5hp, 4hp and so on. If you step in one try to use exana pox. They run away in red hp and drop the poison fields too. I try to hunt with auto-follow on so it chases them and then I don't accidentally step in a poison field. You can hunt here until level 40. If you think this is a waste (you aren't getting the cash back you earned) go back to rots, hunt until you have 10k gold and then buy a dragon lance. Make sure your axe skill is 70 though for more effective hits. Go back to scarabs and hunt till level 40. These little buggers drop small amethysts, small emeralds, MUCH GP, and meat. Collect this only. By the time you are level 40, you should have wasted plenty of ultimate healing runes I suppose and also gained more cash than you lost. Now you are in dire need of cash for your promotion (Elite Knight). I know we should have got this earlier but we had other priorities. With an elite knight you gain HP faster and also lose a lot less than you die. (3% less). Go to Darashia, and to the very northeast is a mino pyramid with minotaurs. Bring a parcel, 2 bp uhs, and you're set. You will be making lootbags now for some cash. Hunt on the base level, 2nd level down, and all the levels above. The third level has many minotaur archers and guards and is even dangerous sometimes for me. Make lootbags of 5k each if you haven't done the postman quest. If you have done it, make bags of 10k each collecting all loot. See that door with the red shiny thingy' That's a postman's door. You need to solve the postman's quest for it. I'll post the postman quest guide here. You will need it for future references as well. Type [PSTM3N] to see the quest info (spoiler of course). Make your loot until you have 30k cash. Buy promotion from the king of Thais and then once you're level 40, train to 75/75. Hunt more scarabs until level 50. You can start blocking soon, but we won't block anything until later levels (read blocking guide). You are now level 50, and your character needs some darn upgrades. Buy a boots of haste first for 30k. It's mandatory. Don't worry, you will have 100k cash in no time. Go to Thais and bring 6 parcels and 5 backpacks of ultimate healing runes or so. You will travel to a place called Mintwallin. It's very hard to explain where it is, but basically its in the thais ancient temple, go east, past some poison fields and then past poison spiders and a hole. Travel along long paths and once you see a door with a lvl 40 requirement, you know you're in the right direction. Don't go inside the door but instead continue on the path north and mintwallin is a mino city. Make sure you have postman done. When inside mintwallin, it would be smart to put a letter there saying ‘Yourname is here'. If someone else is already there then message them and ask how long' Log off and then log on at that given time that they said they would leave at. However many people just say ‘I hunt here for 6 hours' when they actually will hunt for like 2 hours. Some people in this game are so stubborn (the polacks, Brazilians etc) and they just hunt until they have carpel tunnel. When you're inside lure the 2 mino mages around the bricks and go west with them and then go east (very north at the water). Once they are there, run away from them. It's good that they are there so they won't attack you or anything. They are a bloody waste of ultimate healing runes. When I usually hunt here, I make about 30k oz of loot which is 3 hours or so of hunting, depending on spawn rate. (Spawn rate in day is fast; more people on. Spawn at night is slow; rarely anyone online)Hunt here until you have 100 oz of loot (Parcel 30oz. at a time on different days. With that cash, you can afford a royal helmet, golden armor, and demon shield. (Total 90k) You're going to be moving on to a different stage now. Here is what you should have. 1. Royal Helmet 2. Golden Armor 3. Knight Legs 4. Boots of Haste 5. Platinum Amulet (5k or so) 6. Dragon Lance + Fire Axe 7. Demon Shield 8. 5 BP UH's 9. ML 5 10. 80/80 8. Level 50-100 At this level, you can go into the BK Villa (do the quest ‘ reward is crown armor and crown shield) and there are quite a variety of creatures to hunt; the best creatures being tortoises and Cyclops. If you don't feel like hunting, take along a paladin with 80+ skills or a druid lvl 50+ with ml 50 at least, doesn't matter so much and make him exura sio you. Tortoise caves (located in liberty bay, then at the little boat pegleg) (Bloodcrabs and Thornback Tortoises too) are such a nice thing to hunt because first of all they are little waste. You can bring some manas and heal with exura. Considering your axe fighting is 80, using your dragon lance will knock them cold. However, to get to the island is a little problem, but not with this guide! Type [TRTL] to find out how to get onto the island. Once on the island get your map and such and walk around till you know the place a little. I know it's a big big maze but eventually you'll figure it out. Try and get near the bottom floors with the blood crabs. They're soaring with exp. I can get 50-55k exp an hour here, but that was at level 90. I'm level 101 now so it's more I guess. The thornbacks are high in defense so it might help if you train some more. I recommend you only go here when your cash is low, or other hunting spots are taken. Cyclops are scattered out and about in tibia. Although there is ONE spawn which is actually beneficial. The other Cyclops spawns in Thais and other places absolutely suck. Cyclopolis in Edron is the place to go. You can get there from the northern mountain chain in Edron. There are many floors and I shall guide you through it and teach you how to get the most exp out of it. On the first floor are dwarf guards and Cyclops. In the most northeastern section are orc berserkers, orc leaders, minotaur mages, an elf arcanist and more. The smart thing to do would be to lure each thing out one by one. This floor is practically useless. The exp is slow from the guards, only kill the zerk section and go on to the next level, killing all in sight. The second floor is good because it has lots of Cyclops. The third floor is better but, watch out! There is a spawn with one fire elemental and another spawn with 2 fire elementals. You can kill these no problem, but it can tend to be a waste of UHS because of their strong hits although it makes up for the exp gained. The next floor is absolutely amazing. There are so many Cyclops and one fire elemental. Past the level 30 door is 3 fire elementals all beside each other. Next floor has 3 dragons and 2 fire elementals. 2 floors after that are behemoths. I don't even recommend going past that door until level 70, as you'll have more HP and less waste.. You'll do nice hits to the Cyclops. You can hunt here until level 80 or so blocking Black Knights and Hydras when your cash is getting low. Read the blocking section for tips and pointers on how to block creatures. Now I know you think this is boring and such to hunt tortoises and Cyclops from level 50-80. If these places are taken, you can always have fun with your hunting spots. I got my sword of valor (Magic Sword) at level 76 for 1.7mil gp, so I can hunt basically anything with little waste. Although anything that doesn't melee can be a waste at certain times (Dragons) But you, not having that much gp of course will have to stick with your fire axe. Some other good hunting spots are Edron Orcs. If you're lucky, most of the time the orc berserkers will drop halberds (400gp each). Bring 2 parcels or so, the entrance is in edron flats in a sewer and hunt on the hole without the shamans first. Don't forget your letter with your ‘Yourname is hunting here' Collect all the loot and rotate between the orc zerk/leader hole and the shaman hole (don't kill the gs) Use dragon lance for the shaman and maybe orc leader and fire axe balanced for the orc berserkers. Remember, you should have at least 85/85 by now. Most other stuff that you hunt is basically slow exp or useless other than Dwarf Guards. There's a postman door on land and like 3 where the mines connect. Bring some parcels and you can hunt here. I recommend you hunt Dwarf Hell (southwestern most mine) Don't go in the 32+ level door as it's waste as hell there. Dwarf guard exp is in fact terrible 20-30k max per hour. If you're lucky, the loot will be nice. Use a fire axe for these guys; with a dragon lance it will be waste. Remember to buy blessings once you get level 90. Continue to rotate between this stuff until you are level 100. You should have 92/92 skills by now at least. Congratulations on your milestone! But you're not done yet. Far from it. Upgrade your equipment to Dragon Scale Mail and a Mastermind Shield. If you haven't done it yet, buy all the possible spells you can get. 9. Level 100+ Considering you have two large quests which will make you VERY rich, this level rocks. One is the demon helmet quest, and one is the annihilator quest. Read required quests for more detail. With all that cash you have from loot/hydra loot and other things, it's time to hunt some dragons. Buy about a backpack of axe rings, bring 20 empty bps and a parcel, and go to venore dragon lair (the one without the dragon lords). You should have like 92 or 93 skills now. Using your dragon lance kill all dragons collecting all loot. Do this to about level 110. I bet it will be waste, but it's the fastest way to get to annihilator. Once you're done annihilator and all other possible quests there isn't so much left to do right' But you're wrong! With your new stone cutter's axe you can hunt much more of a variety of creatures. But first you need to upgrade your equipment. You already got a demon helmet, so that's good. Rack up cash till you have about 500k. If you don't have that, go back to Dwarf Hell or block Hydras. Buy golden legs, and a magic plate armor. Also by now you should have blessings. Blessings should have been bought at level 90. Fabulous, now you have the best equipment in the game. Don't bother buying steel boots' it doesn't help much and also slows you down without your boots of haste. You can buy it though if you have enough extra cash. Now you should be level 111 or so, full rare set, and 95~ skills or so. Now we can have some fun! Go to orc fort with about 12 backpacks of m anas and 6 bp uhs. Kill all the zerks. Walk around a little and you'll get used to the map and which exp is better and not. The more zerks the more exp. The shamans tend to get very annoying sometimes and in a certain spot when they summon snakes you can get a debug and die. I think that's in the basement though. Careful too as there are orc warlords in the basement. You can hunt here until around level 130. 10. Level 130+ You're on fire now. You can hunt pretty much everything in the game. Hunt some dragon lords, orc fort, dragons, and even demona solo with explosion runes or with a druid hitting it as well. Maybe if you're bored you can block pharaohs or demons or even solo a demon! Hunt this stuff until you just stop playing. Good luck! 11. Blocking creatures Here is where I'll give information about how to block a certain creature (E.g How to block hydras with a druid and exori vis) Hydra (A DRUID IS MANDATORY AT ALL TIMES) Exori vis: Bring around a backpack of firefields, many empty bps for gold and such and make as much cap as possible before going. There's two hydra spawns, one is south and is termed the ‘small spawn'; that spawn is utterly stupid. Then there's the northern spawn in port hope called the ‘big spawn'. This spawn is wicked. What is required: I recommend a HIGH level druid (100+), only one druid because you can split the loot ONLY with him instead of 2 other people. So you get like 45k from 3 boots of haste instead of 30k. Much more worth the effort you gave. You'll also need like 5 backpacks of manas for yourself for exeta res and exura. Use a fire field to the left of the green shrub thing near the ramp and one diagonally southwest to it. Lure the hydra inbetween the fire, and there ya go! Demon skeleton way (For any vocations) See the mountain when you get up at the top of the hydra spawn' Go in the corner there and put a fire field to the left of you. Each person should have 2 demon skeletons summoned which equals to 4! Lure the hydra so its south 1sqm of the fire and then go through the fire and hit the hydra with your weapon of choice when 2 demon skeletons have hit it, therefore breaking the defense and hitting much more. Level 60 minimum to block. If you're not a big noob, you won't die at 50. But with 60 it's more comfortable with 950+ hp. Dragon Lords Venore dragon lairs have the best DL spawns imo. Ank has big ones, but the respawns are slow. Dragon lord blocking is quite basic.. bring a handful of ultimate healing runes and you should bring a druid to sio you and vis it; or he can use 2 demon skeletons and HMM therefore getting you more exp and less waste. If you're lucky, you'll loot a royal helmet or even a DSM! Level 50 minimum to block. Demona The path takes ages to get to demona. Look it up somewhere and you'll find it. You'll need at least 20 bp uhs for a decent hunt. Bring a druid that knows what they're doing and what he needs to bring. You should be at least level 100 for this. I blocked at level 93 and almost died and wasted sooooooooooo much each time. 7 levels may not seem like such a difference, but it is! Once there, ask the druid which room to block in. Block cautiously, and walk slowly trying not to lure 2 warlocks. With 2, the druid will most likely panic OR the warlock could switch to him, leaving you to sit there with UHS wasting, wasting, wasting. More to come soon! 12. Side-quests [PRDX] Paradox quest Credit to Erig Required Items * Shovel * Parcels or Levitate to go up 4 levels to reach the tower, and to get out of Hellgate * Machete or Heavy Machete Required Items for the first visit of the tower * 4 Skulls * Melon, Banana, Cherry, Apple, Grapes, and Coconut * 1 White Knight Chess piece and 1 Black Knight Chess piece (can be obtained from the game rooms in Edron, Carlin, Kazordoon and Thais) Note: If you have visited the tower one time, all the switches will be ON, so you dont need to go there with all the items again, only with the skulls, that are needed everytime you go there. Notes and Answers to Frequently Asked Questions * This quest takes a long time, and there is a lot of time spent walking. You should bring a lot of food and blank runes with you. * The Paradox Tower and the entire area around it is a Protection Zone, so you will not regenerate any mana or hp, nor can you attack anyone or be attacked by anyone. * When you sacrifice the skulls to get to the tower, the skulls will be replaced by Poison Fields. You do not need to wait for these to dissappear before someone else can come, just place the skulls on top of the poison fields and walk onto the strange carving. * You will need 4 skulls EVERY time you travel to the Paradox Tower. * You will need to cut the grass and wait for it to grow back EVERY time you travel to the Paradox Tower. Stepping into the doorway makes the staircase dissappear again, so get your entire group inside the tower before stepping on the switchplate to reveal the stairs. * You will need to wait for the Ghoul to push the box EVERY time you travel to the Paradox Tower. When he pushes the crate into the top corner, go up the ladder QUICKLY, because he will move the crate, and the ladder will dissappear again. * You only need to set the levers, sacrifice the fruit, and use the chess pieces one time. Only exception to this would be a server reset or server save, or if someone flips the switches back, then you will need to do these again. Bring the stuff just in case. * If you try to talk to the prisoner too soon, he will not tell you your number, instead he will reply "A Prisoner: I think you are not in touch with yourself, come back if you have tuned in on your own feelings." * If you step on all of the switchplates in the treasure room, you will LOSE ALL OF YOUR REWARDS, and receive nothing for the quest. Be careful where you step. * The area in Hellgate you are teleported to isn't very dangerous. You don't have to open backpacks of runes while you are going to answer Riddler's questions wrong. Follow these maps to get out of Hellgate (Note: you do not need the Hellgate key, so don't waste 5k): After following the path shown on 9th map, you have to levitate 2x then go up the ladder. When you'll go up as shown on the last map there will be a room with a switch. The switch opens bridge upstairs, pull it if after roping up there's no bridge. Now you should be able to go out to Ab'Dendriel. I think that if you follow the maps you will only meet skeletons, ghouls, rotworms, and beholders, but be prepared to face Elder Beholders, Demon Skeletons and The Evil Eye. Method * Mission 1: * Oldrak (in Plains of Havoc temple, here) player: hello Oldrak: Welcome player! Rarely I can welcome visitors in these days. player: hugo Oldrak: Ah, the bane of the Plains of Havoc, the hidden beast, the unbeatable foe. I live here for years and I am sure it's only a myth. player: myth Oldrak: There are many tales about the fearsome Hugo. It's said it is an abomination, accidently created by Yenny the Gentle. It's halve demon, halve something else and people say it's still alive after dozens of years. player: yenny the gentle Oldrak: Yenny, known as the Gentle, was one of most powerfull magicwielders in ancient times and known throughout the world for her mercy and kindness. player: bye Oldrak: Good bye, player! * Mission 2: * Zoltan (in Noodles Academy of Modern Magic in Edron) player: hello Zoltan: Welcome player, student of the arcane arts. player: yenny the gentle Zoltan: Ah, Yenny the Gentle was one of the founders of the druid order called Crunors Caress, that has been originated in her hometown Carlin. player: crunors caress Zoltan: A quite undruidic order of druids they were, as far as we know. I have no more enlightening knowledge about them though. player: bye Zoltan: Use your knowledge wisely * Mission 3: * Padreia (Druid Guild in Carlin, here) player: hello Padreia: Welcome to our humble guild, wanderer. May I be of any assistance to you' player: crunor's caress Padreia: Don't ask. They were only an unimportant footnote of history. player: footnote Padreia: They thought they have to bring Crunor to the people, if people did not find to Crunor of their own. To achieve that they founded the inn Crunor's Cottage, south of Mt. Sternum. player: bye Padreia: Farewell. * Mission 4 * Lubo (North of Thais, South of Mount Sternum, here) player: hello Lubo: Welcome to my adventurer shop, player! What do you need' player: crunor's cottage Lubo: Ah yes, I remember my grandfather talking about that name. This house used to be an inn a long time ago. My family bought it from some of these flower guys. player: flower guys Lubo: Oh, I mean druids of course. They sold the cottage to my family after some of them died in an accident or something like that. player: accident Lubo: As far as I can remember the story, a pet escaped its stable behind the inn. It got somehow involved with powerfull magic at a ritual and was transformed in some way. player: stable Lubo: My grandpa told me, in the old days there were some behind this cottage. Nothing big though, just small ones, for chicken or rabbits. player: bye Lubo: Good bye. * Now you will visit the tower for the first time, First you will need the Key. Key 3899 to the tower is north of paradox tower in a dead tree ( here), you need to go though Minotaur caves to get to it passing directly under the tower itself. Use a Shovel to enter the Minotaur caves here, then travel as far north as possible. You will emerge here, north of the Paradox Tower. There are only Minotaurs and Minotaur Archers in the cave, and only Bears on the surface north of the tower. * The tree is booby trapped so you might lose up to 200hp and Poison Fields may block your path when you go to leave the tree (this trap is not always triggered). * To reach the Paradox Tower, go here south of the entrance to Kazordoon and use Levitate spell or parcels to climb up the "stairs" on the mountain. * When you come across 4 sacrifice stones, place one skull on each stone and walk to the teleport spot in the middle - you will be teleported to the tower here. If you step on one of the four strange carvings here, you will be teleported back away from the tower. * Go north and cut down grass Jungle Grass inside the tower, starting from left, continue along the left wall to north. North-west corner turn right and continue cutting along the north wall, after 6 sqms turn south and cut the way to the stone. After that you will have to walk back to north wall and continue cutting grass to north-east corner, then along right wall to south to south-east corner. (there are some stones under the grass that you cannot walk over). When the grass starts to grow back, step on the switch plate in the south-east corner of the tower. The big stone will turn into a staircase. * The next room will have a couple of bookshelves and a series of levers - they need to be in the following directions (from left to right): Right, Right, Left, Left, Right, Left. * The next room will have a Ghoul behind some Magic Walls. Flip the switch and a crate will appear with the ghoul. Wait until the ghoul pushes the box into the north-west corner of his area, and a ladder will appear. Go up the ladder before the ghoul moves the box again. * In this room you will need to use the Key 3899 that you got from the dead tree. * After opening the door, place the fruit on the tables in the following order (from left to right): melon, banana, cherry, apple, grapes, coconut. When the fruit is on the tables, flip the switch and a ladder will appear. Go up the ladder. * There will be two statues on the far wall. Place the black and white knight chess pieces on the correct sides and pull the lever. Another ladder will appear. Go up again. * The first time with the Riddler: player: hello Riddler: player! HEHEHEHE! Another fool! Excellent! player: test Riddler: Death awaits those who fail the test of the three seals! Do you really want me to test you' player: yes Riddler: FOOL! Now you're doomed! But well ... So be it! Let's start out with the Seal of Knowledge and the first question: What name did the necromant king choose for himself' player: goshnar Riddler: HOHO! You have learned your lesson well. Question number two then: Who or what is the feared Hugo' player: demonbunny Riddler: HOHO! Right again. All right. The final question of the first seal: Who was the first warrior to follow the path of the Mooh'Tah' player: Tha'kull Riddler: HOHO! Lucky you. You have passed the first seal! So ... would you like to continue with the Seal of the Mind' player: yes Riddler: As you wish, foolish one! Here is my first question: Its lighter then a feather but no living creature can hold it for ten minutes' player: breath Riddler: That was an easy one. Let's try the second: If you name it, you break it. player: silence Riddler: Hm. I bet you think you're smart. All right. How about this: What does everybody want to become but nobody to be' player: old Riddler: ARGH! You did it again! Well all right. Do you wish to break the Seal of Madness' player: yes Riddler: GOOD! So I will get you at last. Answer this: What is your favourite colour' player: green Riddler: UHM UH OH ... How could you guess that' Are you mad''' All right. Question number two: What is the opposite' player: none Riddler: NO! NO! NO! That can't be true. You're not only mad, you are a complete idiot! Ah well. Here is the last question: What is 1 plus 1' player: any number Riddler: WRONG! * You cannot correctly answer this last question. When you guess, you will be wrong, and get sent into Hellgate. * Now you need to go talk to another NPC. Go to Mintwallin and talk to the npc prisoner. The prisoner is two levels up in the prison in Mintwallin. The prison is on the west side of town. You may need to find Key 3620, which is in the guards sleeping quarters near the south gates. WARNING: SAY EXATLY THIS OR YOU MAY LOSE THE QUEST. EXAMPLE: IF YOU SAY MATHMAGICS EARLY, HE WON'T GIVE YOU THE NUMBER!!!!!!!!!! player: hi A Prisoner: Huh' What' I can see! Wow! A non-mino. Did they capture you as well' player: math A Prisoner: My surreal numbers are based on astonishing facts. Are you interested in learning the secret of mathemagics' player: yes A Prisoner: But first tell me your favourite colour please! player: green A Prisoner: Very interesting. So are you ready to proceed in you lesson in mathemagics' player: yes A Prisoner: So know that everthing is based on the simple fact that 1 + 1 = your number! player: bye A Prisoner: Next time we should talk about my surreal numbers. The prisoner will tell you what "1+1" equals - this is different for each player, so be sure to remember the number he tells you. Also, only answer "Green" (as above) if he asks you for his favorite color. He sometimes does not ask this question. * Go back to the Paradox Tower and talk to the riddler again. He will ask you the same questions, and they have the same answers, just be sure to tell him your number that the prisoner gave you. * After that you will be allowed into the treasure room. In the treasure room, there are four treasure chests and two rows of switchplates on the floor that you need to walk over to reach the Chests. Which of these switches you walk over determines what rewards you get. Each switch will DESTROY one of the rewards for you (you will see an explosion on the chest when you step on a switchplate)! Warning: If you step on more than two switchplates, you will lose more than two rewards! NOTE: The letters tells you which rewards you WONT get. So, if you want 10k and 32 talons, walk over the two switch tiles E and W. This will remove Phoenix Egg and Wand of Cosmic Energy. K = 10k gp W = Wand of Cosmic Energy T = 32 Talons E = Phoenix Egg [ K ][ W ][ T ][ T ][ T ][ K ] [ E ][ E ][ E ][ K ][ W ][ W ] Therefore, if you walk straight up the far left, your rewards will be Wand of Cosmic Energy and 32 Talons (K and E removed). You can buy them before you start the quest. Method There is a sign posted in the Tavern in Liberty Bay: You see a note pinned on the wall. You read: Missing ring! High reward! Contact Lady Eleonore in the Silverhand Manor! To begin the quest, visit Eleonore in the Silverhand Manor located in the north part of Liberty Bay on a small hill. Recover the stolen ring * Ask Eleonore about her missing ring. She will explain that it was stolen by a parrot, and taken to the nearby mountains, and she will reward anyone who returns it to her. Eleonore: My ring was stolen by a parrot, directly from my dressing table near the window. It flew to the nearby mountains and I fear my ring will be lost forever. Whoever returns it to me will be rewarded generously. ... Eleonore: I guess that evil parrot hid the ring somewhere on a high tree or a rock so that you might need a rake to get it. * You will need your Rake. * Go directly east out of Liberty Bay until you reach the main entrance to the large Fort (you will need to go up one level to reach the fort). * Go to the north side of the fort, and look for a place that you can Levitate or use Parcels to go up. * Continue up the mountain by using the various steps and levitate spots. * Near the top of the mountain you will find a level with one or more Tarantulas. To the east is a tree with a Parrot in it. Use the rake on the tree, if you have the rake in your backpack you will get the ring in it. You see a crystal ring. It weighs 0.90 oz. The initials E.S. are engraved on it. Take the ring back to Eleonore. Eleonore: Oh, my beloved ring! Have you found it and want to return it to me' player: yes Eleonore: Oh, thank you so much! Take this gold as a reward. ... which reminds me, I would need some help in another matter. It is only a small errand. Are you interested' player: yes Eleonore: Thank you! It is not a difficult matter but a rather urgent one. I need to send some money to a person in town. Would you be willing to run this small errand for me' player: yes Eleonore: I was hoping that you'd agree. Please deliver these 200 gold pieces to the herbalist Charlotta in the south-western part of the town. If you return from this errand, I will grant you 5 gold pieces as reward for your efforts. Deliver money to Charlotta If you accept the assignment, Eleonore will give you 200 gp to take to Charlotta in the slums of Liberty Bay. Take the 200 gp to the far south-west part of town to find Charlotta. player: errand Charlotta: Oh, so you brought some gold from Eleonore to me' player: yes Charlotta: Hmm, it seems that Eleonore does trust you. Perhaps she is even right. However. Since we need some help right now I guess we can't be too picky. Return to Eleonore and tell her the secret password: 'peg leg'. She will tell you more about her problem. Once you have delivered the money, return to Eleonore. Eleonore: Great, thank you! As promised, here are your 5 gold pieces. Is there ... anything left that you might want to discuss with me' Find news about Captain Raymond Striker Once you are a person that can be trusted, tell Eleonore the secret password "peg leg" to prove your trustworthiness. player: peg leg Eleonore: You have returned my ring and proven yourself as trustworthy. There is something I have to discuss with you. Are you willing to listen' player: yes Eleonore: I am glad to hear that. So please listen: Due to circumstances too complicated to explain now, I met Captain Ray Striker. He is ... a freedom fighter and would not find my father's acceptance, but we fell in love ... Eleonore: Even though he had to hide for a while, we have stayed in contact for a long time now. And our love grew even further against all odds ... Eleonore: However, recently we lost contact. I don't know what has happened to him and fear the worst ... Eleonore: We always have been aware that something terrible might happen to him due to his lifestyle. But perhaps there is a harmless explanation for the absence of messages . I have arranged a passage for you to Ray's hiding place ... Eleonore: Contact Captain Waverider, the old fisherman, and tell him the secret word 'peg leg'. He will make sure that you arrive safely ... Eleonore: Please look for Ray and find out what happened to him and why he was not able to answer. Return to me as soon as you have found something out. I wish you a good journey. Now find Captain Waverider. He is on a small peninsula south-east of the Liberty Bay Depot. player: peg leg Captain Waverider: Ohhhh. So... 'you know who' sent you so I sail you to 'you know where'. It will cost 50 gold to cover my expenses. Is it that what you wish' Captain Waverider will then take you to the island of Meriana, to the rebel camp of Sabrehaven. Find Raymond Striker, he is in a house near the middle of Sabrehaven. When you find him, ask him about Eleonore and the mermaid player: Eleonore Raymond Striker: Eleonore ... Yes, I remember her... vaguely. She is a pretty girl ... but still only a girl and now I am in love with a beautiful and passionate woman. A true mermaid even. player: mermaid Raymond Striker: The mermaid is the most beautiful creature I have ever met. She is so wonderful. It was some kind of magic as we first met. A look in her eyes and I suddenly knew there would be never again another woman in my life but her. Now you need to find the man-stealing mermaid and try to break her spell over poor Raymond. The mermaid Marina is near the northern coast of the island, just north-east of Sabrehaven. When you find her, ask her about ray striker and you will discover that she does in fact have a spell on him, and will not release him unless someone better comes along. If you explore the area just south-west of Sabrehaven, you will find the reclusive Djinn Ocelus on a mountain. This djinn is in love with Marina, but is too shy to ask her for a date. He would like you to ask for him. player: Eleonore Ocelus: I heard the birds sing about her beauty. But how could a human rival the enchanting beauty of a mermaid' player: mermaid Ocelus: Oh yes, I noticed that lovely mermaid. From afar of course. I would not dare to step into the eyes of such a lovely creature. ... Ocelus: ... I guess I am quite shy. Oh my, if I were not blue, I would turn red now. If there would be someone to arrange a date with her. player: date Ocelus: Will you ask the mermaid Marina if she would date me' player: yes Ocelus: Thank you. How ironic, a human granting a djinn a wish. Now you need to return to Marina and ask her for a date with Ocelus. She will turn him down out of dissappointment that he was not more romantic. player: date Marina: Is that the best you can do' A true Djinn would have done something more poetic. Now you need to return to Ocelus with the bad news. He will tell you to get a poem for him. player: mermaid Ocelus: Oh my. Its not easy to impress a mermaid I guess. Please get me a love poem. I think elves are the greatest poets so their city seems like a good place to look for one. Travel now to Ab'dendriel, and visit Elvith in the music shop there. Elvith is located under a hill to the far north of Ab'dendriel. You can purchase a love poem from him for 200 gp. Once you have the love poem, return to Ocelus, and he will magically grant you the ability to recite the poem as a true elven poet. player: Marina Ocelus: Oh my. Its not easy to impress a mermaid I guess. Please get me a love poem. I think elves are the greatest poets so their city seems like a good place to look for one. player: love poem Ocelus: Did you get a love poem from Ab'Dendriel' player: yes Ocelus: Excellent. Here, with this little spell I enable you to recite the poem like a true elven poet. Now go and ask her for a date again. Now you need to go recite the poem to Marina and impress her with the djinn's romantic and poetic abilities. She will then give you the ability to ride her sea turtles, allowing you to access the Laguna Islands. player: date Marina: This lovely, exotic Djinn is a true poet. And he is asking me for a date' Excellent. Now I can finaly dump this human pirate. He was growing to be boring more and more with each day ... Marina: As a little reward for your efforts I allow you to ride my sea turtles. Just look around at the shores and you will find them.
