The island is named as Rookgaard. Why is this island so special? This the first island that you be on while you are playing Tibia. This island is full of helpless and confused newbies. So, what is this FAQ for? This is a FAQ that can help you know the game, Tibia and let you know the island, Rookgaard. Additionally, let you get out the island faster. Rookgaard is just an average-sized island with a lot of interesting places to visit. This island is help new players to know more about the game without facing problems like PvP (Player vs Player) or PK (Player Killing). There's some hints to let you know about the game but I do think you need more. The island is non-pvp, not like the main island and the other islands. But there's some non-pvp world or premium accounts only world (premmy world). For new players, the controllers of the game is a bit different from other games, such as Runescape. If you are confused with the controllers I suggest you to read the specific section. To get out this island, you should keep on leveling until you reached level 8 and talk to The Oracle at the second floor of the academy. At last, choose the vocation you want and leave the land. Note that you cannot come back again after you leave Rookgaard but you surely won't want to come back again. :) This FAQ aren't 100% accurate since the game just keep on growing and developing, adding new stuffs, new rules... There sure be an error somewhere and some informations and suggestions from you. So, if you do found out some or have some new informations and suggestions or either, please e-mail me at chewjiaxien [at] yahoo [dot] com and please title your mail as "Tibia FAQ". =============================================================================== 5.0 Basic Knowledges =============================================================================== This section does not only include the basic controllers, it also include something about the menu around the sides. Something here may be useful to you, choose from the titles you wanted to read below. ---- Walk ---- You can walk around by clicking on the place you wanted go. You can also use the d-pad to move. To go downstairs or upstairs, hold CTRL and click on the ladder, stairs, etc. To jump down a hole or walk down a ladder, you can just walk on top of it and it will go down by itself. To go down rock mountains is easy but going up is hard sometimes, because that going up a rock mountain can only do it by using d-pad. -------------- Talk with NPCs -------------- Say 'hi' or 'hello' to begin the chat. You may talk to NPCs with 'mission' or 'quest', 'job', 'help', 'offer', 'heal' and many more. You can say 'bye' to end the chat. DON'T SPAM the word 'hi' if the NPC is busy talking with other players because he/she will talk to you later. -------------------- Whisper, Talk & Yell -------------------- This feature can only be use after level 2. Whisper, only nearby people can 'see' your words. Talk, the basic way you are talking, the people inside your screen will 'see' your words. Yell, most people use this to request for help, buying or selling or just for fun. Yelling can let people that are far away from you 'see' your words and also all of your words will change to capital letters. You cannot keep on yelling. You need wait for a while before for your second yell. To use this feature, just click at the speaker at bottom left corner to change the mode between whisper, talk and yell. --------------------------------- Change Channels & Chat Personally --------------------------------- To change a channels or chatt with a person personally, you need to click at the folder-like icon at the upper right of the message board. Select your channel or you can type the player's character name at the space at the bottom of the window to chat with him/her. ------ Attack ------ You can only attack a creature at the same time but you can be attacked by 2 or more creatures at the same time. To attack a creature, you have to hold ALT and click on the creature. You can also attack a creature by using the battle window, I pefer this if there aren't too much around. --------- Get Loots --------- To get the loot from a dead creature, hold CTRL and click on the dead creature. Only fresh dead creatures can be opened. This means that if a creature had been killed for a long time when you opened it, you won't be able to open it. Usually, dead creatures will change their outfits when they died too long to tell you that they cannot be opened to get the loot anymore. ---------- Open Items ---------- To open barrels, chests, boxes, etc... Hold down CTRL and click on the items you wanted to open. Just like opening a dead creatures to get the loot. --------- Use Items --------- Hold CTRL and click on the place you want to it on. Such as using rope with hole or under the hole, shovel with stone piles, fishing rod with water, key with door, etc... It is just the same way as above. --- Map --- The map is located at the upper right corner. It is used to know where you are and which route you should take to reach a place much safer or quicker. The place where you haven't been to will be in black colour. The place you been to will not be in black colour again, no matter what, unless you delete that map file or uninstall Tibia from your computer. To move the map to another area hold ALT and use the d-pad to move the map. You can also click on the map to reach the place you want. --------------- Equipments List --------------- (Correction by Salvidrim (Secura)) The equipments list is use to equip equipments on it. The bag is used to store items. The space at the bottom left is used to see if you had just entered a fight of just out a fight or during a fight. It also tells you that what kind damage you received, such as lightning, fire and poison. The bottom right corner of the list shows you how much weight that you can still take. (Cap = Capacity, 10 Cap = 10 oz). To check your equipments, hold CTRL and click on the equipment. The stat of the equipment will show up in green words. -------------------------------------- Battle Window, VIP List & Skills Table -------------------------------------- The battle window is used to show you who is around you, including creatures that will attack you. You can click on the person on the battle window to attack him/her. The VIP list is somewhat like a contact list, right clcik the window of the VIP list and you found a menu that you will be needing. The skill table is used to check you skills stat. =============================================================================== 6.0 Leveling =============================================================================== -------------------- | 6.1 Leveling Guide | -------------------- This section will help you leveling quicker and better. In the game, leveling is very hard. Why? Because that the players is too much and the creatures are too less. Too good that you only had to reach level 8 (5200 exp) to get out of this crowded island. / Level 1 / Kill those rats under the caves. Walk around to hunt for rats. Get the torch under the academy and the rapier under the cave. You can sell dead rats to Seymour or Tom for a better profit. If you hit points meter turned to red, go to find Cipfried and say 'heal'. (From Ramiro Puga) When a Rookie arrives the island, the FIRST thing he should do is get the doubblet, after that he should get the rapier, then just mass kill rats until you can buy a wooden shield. / Level 2 - 3 / Go out the village. Explore all the places to open up the black areas of the map. Try to go get the carlin sword, fishing rod, present and backpack under the Mino Hell. But don't go into that place if there's minotaurs. If you want to explore the training room, buy the key from Seymour by saying 'buy key'. The place I suggest for leveling is the wolf cave because it is hard to find. If you have problems killing wolves, go hunt aroung the field for some snakes. / Level 4 - 5 / Training in wolf cave is still recommended. Snakes hunting aren't recommended since they only give 10 experience points. You may be able to train on orcs and trolls now. Try going to the orc tower, troll towers or maybe under the Mino Hell. The training room may be a good place for training too if there's only you alone in side the training room. / Level 6 - 7 / Try go killing skeletons for getting you a mace. Going for the katana and copper shield is ok while you in this level. It is quite dangerous. Almost everything in Rookgaard you'll be able to kill. So, training in any places is ok. But don't to kill rotworms or minotaurs by your own. / Level 8 / Finally, level 8. Now you should go to The Oracle on the second floor of the academy. You'll have to choose your vocation and your hometown. You still can stay on Rookgaard but if you are a new player, please go to the main, it'll be much more fun than staying on Rookgaard. They are more things to explore. --------------------- | 6.2 Leveling Places | --------------------- Need more information on the places of leveling around Rookgaard? If you answer yes, this is the section you may want to read. Actually, I'm not don't have a premmy account, so there aren't much information on the premmy area. Some of the name of this leveling places may be incorrect, so please send a corretion mail to me. (chewjiaxien [at] yahoo [dot] com) Rat Caves --------- The rat caves are under the village. There many caves under the village. Most of them are connected. There's a hole at the most north part of the village. It is somewhere in the grass. This hole will lead you to Mino Hell. There will be many trolls. Only those already reach level 2 may get pass the cave to the Mino Hell. Most newbies die at here as you can see many dead humans lying on the ground when you pass. The caves under village only has rats and cave rats. Training Room ------------- The training room is under the academy. You need to buy the sliver key (Key:4600) from Seymour to enter it. Jump down the hole, you'll find two ways. The left will lead you to 2 different kinds of element fields, while the right will lead you a teleporter that will teleport you to the training room. Follow the path after you have been teleported. You'll reach 4 switches. The first switch release a bug out from the door below, the second one will release a wolf, the third one will release a troll, while the fourth switch will release a spider. The spider is the weakest, follow by the bug, the wolf and the troll. You can only operate one switch at the same time. Bug Tunnel ---------- This tunnel is located near the bridge to the west side of Rookgaard. South of it. It is a loose stone pile. You need to use shovel on it to open the hole. This tunnel also will lead you to the west side of the island. Bring a rope before you jump down the hole. There're only bugs inside. Mino Hell --------- The largest cave in Rookgaard, the most common place for players to go. The first floor has trolls, spiders and some poison spiders far north of the cave. The second floor has orcs and some spiders with trolls at the far west. There are minotaurs and wolves here, but they rarely respawn. The two stairs at the east will lead you to some treasures and some strong monsters, such as minotaurs, orcs and wolves. The middle stairs will lead you to a room with orcs, not many orcs. The stairs at the far west, leading you down, will bring you back to the village. By the road to the village, you find many trolls. If you go the stairs leading you up twice, you will be at the west side of the island. If you go deeper into the cave, you may find a place with skeletons. Try training there, but it's too deep. Wolf Cave --------- The wolf cave is located at far northeast. It is behind a tree. You may be able to see a hole somewhere in the grass. Inside they're only have wolves. I'd trained at this place most of the time while I was level 2 until level 6. This is a good training place since not much people know about this place. As I'd been trained here most of the time, I can tell you that the wolves won't respawn if you stay in the cave. So, get out of the cave after there are no more wolves inside. Go back in after a minute. There will be 2 or 3 wolves inside. Graveyard --------- (correction by Ramiro Puga) This is usually the cave with much kind of strong monsters lurking inside, and also the place where the most valuable treasure lies. This cave is somewhere south of the wolf cave. It is a loose stone pile if nobody had opened the hole. It is a place you will see many stone piles and 3 signs. Only the bottom middle stone pile can be open. This cave has spiders, poison spiders, skeletons and a whole lot bunch of rotworms. There is many poison fields somewhere under the hole. Behind the poison fields lies the most valuable treasure in Rookgaard, the strongest sword and in Rookgaard, katana. It is inside a dead human without a name. There's rotworms guarding the corpse, a bunch of friends is recommended to go past the poison fields and snatch the treasures. This is the most dangerous place if you go too deep. I suggest you to go here while you were after level 6. Troll Towers ------------ (correction by Ramiro Puga) The troll towers is somewhere at the west side of Rookgaard, over the bridge. It is at the east, somewhere between to rock mountains. Go upstairs to kill those trolls. I think there are only trolls and orcs inside the house since I didn't went there for training. Ask those people training around the troll house for more information. (From Ramiro Puga) They are called troll towers, from the bridge that connects west and east rook, go south to find the south tower with only trolls. By going north you will find the north tower. There is an orc, many trolls and sheeps. Spider House ------------ The spider house right on top of the entrance to Mino Hell at the west side of Rookgaard. It has spiders and poison spiders, I think so. I just had been there once. It is a good place for player that had level around 2 until 4. Bear Cave --------- This is not a cave, but it is surround by rocks, quite look like an opened air cave. Is located at the most north part of the west part of Rookgaard. There are only bears here. I didn't know much about bears, because I didn't kill one. I don't know if there are strong or not. You need go up the mountains to reach the bear. This place is always empty. I didn't see any bears here, but only dead bears. Wasp Tower ---------- Located at the west side of bear cave's walls. You need a rope to climb this tower, quite special. There are only wasps here, pure wasps. I think it's recommended to go here after you have reach level 5. Wasps can cause poisons, same as the poison spiders. Orc Tower --------- A good place for players had reached level 5 and have well equipped. Orcs aren't easy to fight. The orc tower is located at the west of the west side of the Rookgaard. There is orcs and also orc spearmen. Those orc spearmen are as strong as minotaurs, they can do a lot of damage, and most importantly, a distance fighter. Runaway if he's attacking you, this is the advice I can only give. Rope doesn't needed to climb this tower. Insect Cave ----------- A dangerous place to go for training. This place is full with bugs, spiders, poison spiders and a rotworm under a special room. This place a little bit west of the orc tower. The entrance of this cave is quite special, surrounded by odd-looking stones. I usually came here for training, and train on those poison spiders. This place isn't much crowded for the part with poison spiders. The poison spiders are quite deadly. Get out of the cave if your hit point meter reach yellow or 1/3 of your meter. Don't try to kill the rotworms by your own although there's only one. It is impossible! Except you are high level and have the best equipments around Rookgaard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This part of this section will contain information given by the other players of the game. At here, I like thanks them for willing to lend out a hand to me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Boxy The Kangaroo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Minotaur Mage Room ------------------ (is a part of Mino Hell) Maybe you can get there from a teleport in Mintwallin, you can see the teleport near the oven. Bear Room & Bear Room Key ------------------------- (is a part of Mino Hell) You can find the key by using the pick in muddy place near the bed in bear room minotaur spawn point. Maze of Fury ------------ In the premium area, there is a dungeon called "Maze of Fury", its a training spot more than a quest because, its unfinished. This cave is full of skeletons. =============================================================================== 7.0 Information =============================================================================== --------------- | 7.1 Vocations | --------------- Vocations are also known as classes, but in this game there are known as vocations. There are four kinds of vocations in the game. Vocations needed to be choose when you reached level 8 and wanted to go to the main land. The paladin is the average vocation in the game. The paladin is dedicated to use all weapons but the distance fighting weapons is the best of all. The paladin is also a fine magic user with quite a lot of magic spells to learn. Shield is also a good choice for a paladin with a one-handed weapon equiped. -------- Sorcerer -------- Hit points: Lowest of all the vocations. Mana: Highest of all the vocations. Skill Increasing Speed:- - Magic Level: Fastest of all the vocations. - Fist Fighting: Slowest of all the vocations. - Club Fighting: Slowest of all the vocations. - Sword Fighting: Slowest of all the vocations. - Axe Fighting: Slowest of all the vocations. - Distance Fighting: Slowest of all the vocations. - Shielding: Slowest of all the vocations. The druid is the best defensive magic user in the game. The druid is only dedicated to use magic only. The druid is very weak in lower level and become more useful when magic spells are learned. ------------------ | 7.2 Shops/Places | ------------------ Shops and places are very useful in the game. The name maybe wrong, if it is send a mail to me. Temple ------ Located at the north of the village square. The place where you first login at. Cipfried will heal you by asking him 'heal'. He may only heal while your hit points meter on top of your character turned red. Equipments Stores ----------------- There're two equipment stores. One is located at far northwest of the village. Another is the house at the west of the village square. There's only buy things they sell. This means that you can only sell things that you can buy from them. There is another equipment store located near the bridge to leave the village. That store is only for premiums members, but you can go in and walk around. Tanner Store ------------ Tom is the tanner. He will buy dead animals from you. But you can only bring him dead rabbits and dead rats because other dead animals are way too heavy for you. He will give you 2gp for a dead rabbits either a dead rat. The tanner store is located at east of the village square. Academy ------- The academy is located at the north of the village square. You'll find Seymour in a the academy. Seymour will buy rats from you. He also sells sliver key (Key:4600) that will allow you to enter the training room under the academy. Under the academy, you will also find a trade center and a NPC named Amber. Ask her for a quest. Magic Store ----------- The magic store is located west of Cipfried's temple. You can buy antidote runes and sell blueberries to her. 5 blueberries is trade for 1 gp. Food Store ---------- The food store is over the bridge at the west near Al Dee's store. The upper bridge is for premium accounts only while the bottom bridge will lead you to the food store. Talk to Willie, you can buy or sell food to him. Life Fluid Seller ----------------- (Additional information from Boxy the Kangaroo and Salvidrim (Secura)) There will be a druid who's selling life fluid at the top of the tower located a little bit north east of the entrance to the village. I mean the bridge to go out the village. You need a rope to climb up. He will sell you a bottle of life fluid for 60gp. You can get platinum coins by selling 20 flasks to him. The druid's name is Salvidrim. Blind Orc of Rookgaard ---------------------- There is a blind orc in Rookgaard. You can buy items from him. I think he sells things as same as the NPCs in the village. Use orc language to talk to him. He is at the mountain north of the Mino Hell. To go there, you need go down the broken down house and follow the path and go west until you see a spot you can climb with rope. Keep climbing up until you reach the top. You'll see a blind orc there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Boxy The Kangaroo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sword of Fury ------------- You can see a Sword of Fury in the north of the island, but you can't get it. Banana Spot ----------- You can find banana in premmy area, these are in a palm in northwest of area. And in free area there's banana palm north of Amber´s raft. Honey Flower ------------ There are 2 spawn of HF, 1 in premmy area and the other on free area, in the upper floor of wasp tower, you can trade them with a Loui(premmy area). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Will Brazel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Honey Flower (Premmy Area) -------------------------- About the honey flower being in the premium area, I'm not quite sure where it is but it seems like it there is a respawn maybe somewhere near the entrance to the premmy area because I finally found one near the bridge the other day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Salvidrim (Secura) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tips on premmy area ------------------- " That the equipment store is owned by Lee'Delle, that the food store is owned by Billy, that there's an Oracle, whose name is The Gatekeeper, and that can send you to some different town then the Oracle in the Free Account's Area." ------------ | 7.3 Quests | ------------ There quests in the game but there are unnamed. So, I name the quests with the names of the NPCs that give the quests. Amber's Quest ------------- Amber's quests... Way too easy. Ask her about the quests by saying 'quest' or 'mission'. She wants her dairy back. Go get at the raft at the south east of Rookgaard as she say she had left it there. Ok, go out the village. Go to southeast and. Whoa! A raft. There's no dairy here but a flag with a chest under it. Open the chest, and you'll found the book. The book is written with some foods and some '*'. I think it's her boyfriend's favorite food. Just kidding, because I'm his boyfriend and I don't like those food. Haha! Give back the book to her by saying 'book' and follow by 'yes'. You'll get a short sword as a reward. Seymour's Quest --------------- If you ask him for a quest, he'll sure say 'you are not experience enough blah blah blah...'. But if you gave the present box to him, he will give you the legion helmet and forgot about the 'blah blah blah'. But, you won't heard the 'blah blah blah' if you reach level 3, I think. The present is located somewhere inside Mino Hell. Very deep. Protected by minotaurs. But, most of the time they won't be minotaurs around there but a lot of people. The present is somewhere inside a chest at east, north of a bed, and beside a switch. The switch will operate a stone that's blocking the way to the bear room where there's a brass helmet and a chain armor. Go back to Seymour after you've get the present. Say 'box' to Seymour and say 'yes'. The legion helmet will be the present for you. --------------- | 7.4 Treasures | --------------- Treasure are items that are only can be get once by the same charater but not the account. Mostly treasures are hidden in a chest in Rookgaard. Torch ----- Inside a treasure chest located under the academy. Far north, the furthest room. Need to operate many switches to reach that room. Combat Knife ------------ Inside a treasure chest located under the cave of the village square. A part of the rat cave. The treasure chest is covered by a bunch of small stones. It is somewhere at the southern east part of the cave. But, this knife atk and def are low. Backpack with Present & Junks, Brass Helmet and Chain Armor ----------------------------------------------------------- These three items are inside a treasure chest under Mino Hell. These items are located in the same room under Mino Hell. They are somewhere deep under the Mino Hell where there is minotaurs around. The room is full with barrel and there's a bed and a treasure chest north of it. That treasure chest contained a backpack which contained present which you can exchange for legion helmet and a bunch of junk. At the north part of that room, you'll see a locked door which there's a bear inside. The room can only been open by a key that can be picked out somewhere near the bed. There are 2 treasure chests inside with contained a brass helmet and a chain armor. You can go in although you're not a premium account member. Just wait for a premium account member to open the door for you. There'll be a place that you can jump down at the most northwest part of the room. That is passage to go out that room, but you cannot climb up after you'd jumped down. That passage will lead to the hole which you cannot jump into outside the room. Carlin Sword, Fishing Rod and Bag with Arrows & Poison Arrows ------------------------------------------------------------- These items are also located in the same room under "Mino Hell". Find the room by yourself. These items are inside treasure chests. The room is guarded minotaurs and wolves. I think it's hard for you to find this place, but try hard keep on going down. At the west of this room, you'll find a locked door. The room is the Mino Mage Room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Boxy The Kangaroo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Doublet ------- You can find a Doublet in the cellar of the stable north of Tom´s shop, in a loose board. Goblins Quest ------------- In the deepest floor of Goblin cave you can find a treasure. (0-100 gp, 0-5 Snowballs, Sandals, Pan, Milk) Salmon ------ You can get 2 of this in the skeleton temple, in deeps of mino hell, to go there you should north west in mino hell, and drop in a hole, go north, and take the left path through poison. Go that way, and you are going to find a big skelly respwn. In the Basement there is chest with the 2 salmon. Dragon Corpse ------------- In the SE of Rookgaard island you can find a bear cave. If you go down, and go through fire, you can find a dead Dragon with Copper Shield and Legion Helmet. Katana and Viking Helmet ------------------------ (corrections by Ramiro Puga) Go to graves east bridge. Go to the rots, in a body spawns the katana room key, get antidote runes. go through the poison in the graves, and down the hole. Open the door with key. a switch hidden behind a pillar opens the room. You can see a room with a Ghoul in it from the katana room, you cant enter that room. (From Ramiro Puga) The katana and the viking helmet aren't in the same body. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Ramiro Puga ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rapier ------ It is in the center of the cave, you have to go downwith a ladder and find 4 rats guarding this teasure. --------------- | 7.5 Creatures | --------------- There are a lot of creatures in the game. The creatures exist in Rookgaard are listed below and there are listed from the weakest to the strongest due to the experience points given. Sheep Hit points: 20 Hp Experience: 0 Exp Loots: Meat My Words: Never kill one before. Salvidrim (Secura) says: "Actually, there are the easiest way to get money when landing on Rookgaard! There is a grassy area, just south-east from Willy, and there are sheeps in there; well, there are exact the same thing as deers, they don't give experience, they don't retaliate when you attack them, and they give food! You just need to kill some, grab some meat, go to sell it at 2gp at Willy, come back and repeat!" Trolls Hit points: 50 Hp Experience: 20 Exp Loots: Rope, Hand Axe, Spear, Leather Helmet, Wooden Shield, Leather Boots, Meat, Gold Coins, Sliver Amulet My Words: Quite hard for those low-level unwell-equipped players. I suggest that you should kill them while you reach level 4. They drop rope, which will be very useful in game later. Salvidrim (Secura) says: "The Troll's loot can be Sliver Amulet, but VERY RARELY, I got one on Rookgaard, and 2 on Main, even if only 1 troll out of 200 gives one, I think you should write it" Poison Spiders Hit points: 26 Hp Experience: 22 Exp Loots: Gold Coins My Words: Not much people train on them because they can cause you poison which will decrease you hit points slowly. But they will be good for high-level players to train on because not much people is training on them. Bears Hit points: 80 Hp Experience: 23 Exp Loots: Meat, Ham My Words: Didn't kill one before. Goblins Hit points: 30 Hp Experience: 25 Exp Loots: Small Stones, Gold Coins, Bones, Daggers, Leather Helmets, Small Axes, Fish. My Words: Goblins only appear in the premmy area (a place in Rookgaard where only premium members may enter). They drop small axes which you can trade them with Al Dee for picks. Rotworms Hit points: 65 Hp Experience: 40 Exp Loots: Meat, Ham, Gold Coins My Words: One of the strongest creatures in Rookgaard. I couldn't kill one by myself although I was level 7 already with the carlin sword and brass shield. Also with the strongest armor, chain armor and the legion helmet. Rotworms are strong. Most of the high-level players party to kill them. Minotaurs Hit points: 100 Hp Experience: 50 Exp Loots: Gold Coins, Swords, Maces, Chain Armors, Plate Shields, Leather Legs, Meat, Poison Daggers My Words: The strongest creature in Rookgaard.
