You can do this at the beginning of the stage by turning backwards and advancing nearly fifty feet towards Lu Bu. Proceed to hurt him until he is a KO victim. Condition completed. Available characters: (First DW8 story mode playable character appearance = *) - Cao Cao * - Xiahou Dun * - Xiahou Yuan * ====================== Playing as everyone: ====================== The first thing you can do is either complete a condition by defeating Lu Bu, or as Cao Cao orders, avoid engaging in combat with Lu Bu. Your choice. In case you do fight him, he's harder than crud to beat, but easier than at Hulao Gate. After you decide, head towards the highlighted area at the bottom of the map, and defeat any of Dong Zhuo's "obstacles" on the way. Diaochan, labeled "???" will soon appear at the area, and she'll secretly help you escape from the tyrant Dong Zhuo. Defeat the enemies in that general area and she'll escort you to the rear gate. The escape point will change after she reveals her identity and tells you to follow her. Where? That little pothandle looking road at the total east side of the map. She'll take you as far as the Luoyang Castle Barracks gates and she'll disappear. When the gates open enter only to find Zhang Liao being all smart and ambushing you. No, Diaochan didn't plot this. Defeat him to open the gate. When you reach the drawbridge, or the wooden wall looking thing, it'll lower. Cross it and victory is yours. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 2 - Battle of Hulao Gate - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BHG) Available characters: - Xiahou Dun - Yue Jin * - Li Dian * ======================= Playing as Xiahou Dun: ======================= When you start, Cao Cao orders you to advance towards Sishui Gate via the center. You should probably do just that. Almost immediately when the battle starts, Sun Jian's army will arrive at Sishui Gate. The first enemy you will need to take out is Niu Fu. Soon after, you'll need to defeat Hu Zhen. Just when you engage in battle it seems, Yuan Shu will struggle to get the supplies on a steady line to be delivered to the vanguard, AKA Sun Jian. As Cao Cao and Li Dian head over to speak with Yuan Shu, Yue Jin and you are orderd to assist Sun Jian's unit and defeat the enemies in front of Sishui Gate. The enemies that'll be at Sishui Gate include Song Xian and Ma Richan. Once they're goners, Sun Jian will thank you and the Coalition Forces' morale will take an increase. Also, Yuan Shu will then resend the supplies. This also gains morale for the Coalition Forces. Suddenly, Hua Xiong will appear at the checkpoint exactly south of Sishui Gate and he's angry. Defeat him. Sishui Gate will open once he's done for. Advance beyond Sishui Gate and make your way through the pathway. A little ways through the pathway, archers will appear from atop the cliff. Defeat the gatekeeper at the gate in front of you. In the next base, Dong Cheng will oppose you. Take care of him. At this time, Yuan Shao will begin marching onto Hulao Gate. Advance past the newly opened gate and defeat Cao Xing. To your left will be a stairway, and that leads to Wei Xu. Defeat him to stop the rain of arrows and allow your allies to advance. When Yuan Shao reaches the circle-shaped hill in front of Sishui Gate, an ambush party will attempt to ambush him. Normally, Yuan Shu will see this and intercept the ambush troops. Zhang Liao will appear in the next area, and he needs to be defeated to open the gate. Cao Cao will order you to take the base on the west side with him in order to grab some siege weapons for Hulao Gate. Jia Xu will appear and the Coalition Forces will halt due to catapults. Follow Cao Cao and he'll lead you to the west base. Defeat Li Ru to open the gates and you'll be able to capture the west base. Jia Xu will also seal of the ram's entry point that were to siege Hulao Gate. Aftewards, the mighty Lu Bu will appear at Hulao Gate. Approach Hulao Gate to trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, Dian Wei will fight Lu Bu. Your job is to get your slayable flesh AWAY from him. Head towards Luoyang. Do NOT kill Diaochan or Lu Bu will hunt you down and become even angrier. When you reach a closed gate guarded by Zhang Ji, you'll need to defeat him to open that closed gate. When you enter Luoyang, Dong Zhuo will set the city ablaze and you'll lose health. Make your way to Guo Si and defeat him to open the gate. Defeat Dong Zhuo afterwards and you'll win the battle. ==================== Playing as Yue Jin: ==================== When you start, Cao Cao orders you to advance towards Sishui Gate via the center. Defeat him. This will cause a big fat man with a club to appear labeled "???", later to be named as Xu Zhu. He appears right behind where Liu Pi was so you don't have to move far to reach him. Defeat Xu Zhu/"???" He'll temporarily withdraw and the drawbridge to the west will lower so you can cross it. The victory condition will then change from "Defeat all enemy units" to "Defeat '???'". There'll be a report saying the enemy leader is resting in the western garrison. Keep heading the same direction you were and you'll find yourself in the western garrison. It'll be a trap when you enter and the garrison gates will close. Militiamen will appear, and you need to defeat them. Climb the ladder and defeat the other militiamen. The big man, you should know by now, is not in this garrison. The drawbridge to the east will lower, and the garrison gates will open. You'll be ordered to search the northeastern garrison for the big man. The central garrison gates should have opened so you'll be able to make your way through that way. When you enter the northeastern garrison, He Yi will ambush you as the garrison gates close, real original! Haha. Defeat He Yi and the gates will open. You'll then be informed that the big man AKA the leader of the enemy forces has appeared at the summit/mountaintop. Take the north path and make your way west until you find yourself at that location. Guess who's not there? The big man. Instead, it is Zhang Yan. Beating him will trigger the big man AKA Xu Zhu to appear. Beat him and win the battle. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 4 - Battle of Xu Province - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BXP) Special conditions: 1) Quickly defeating Tao Qian will enable the stage 'Battle of Puyang' to be unlocked. - This will not affect unlocking the hypothetical / "what if" stages - You can do this with all characters When Tao Qian burns the castle and heads towards Liu Bei, use your horse and musou attacks to quickly charge up the pathway towards Liu Bei. You'll have to defeat two generals, Mi Zhu and Chen Deng at two different garrisons to do this and if you do it, you'll probably catch him at Liu Bei's camp. Remember to ignore any unneccesary foes and timing is key! Available characters: - Dian Wei - Cao Ren - Xu Zhu * ==================== Playing as everyone: ==================== So the first thing you are specifically told to do when you start the battle is to “Defeat Tao Qian’s Forces that are in the area”. Two enemy officers are highlighted on the middle path next to the starting area. The first is Chen Gui. Kill some enemies and then you’ll notice Chen Gui and the next officer highlighted, Que Xuan, will start to retreat. Dian Wei will have the Wei forces to pursue them, so call your horse because all three characters usable are really slow. When you reach the middle of the path, an ambush will appear. Weirdly enough, the ambush consists of stone dragon heads unleashing boulders at you. Cao Cao’s forces will stop advancing. A few moments later, Guo Jia notices that you can use the enemy’s catapults against them. He asks you to take the catapults, so do it. Call your horse and advance down the path towards the newly highlighted officer, Mi Fang. He’s literally at the bottom and the path so hurry just because your main camp is taking damage. Also, don’t attack the enemy soldiers on your joy ride, deal with them later. After you defeat Mi Fang, Guo Jia will order you to take them to higher ground. So jump into one, and take the north path from the area where you defeated Mi Fang. That’s a 90 degree angle, or close to it. Advance to the highlighted area with it. At the cliff, aim at the dragon heads and push circle to throw a boulder at the heads and destroy them. Each head takes one boulder to do the trick so it shouldn’t take long. The enemy will withdraw after you destroy them, and this triggers the southern gate at the absolute end of the path towards the bottom right corner of the map to open up. Advance to it upon your steed. Whilst you do that, take some time to defeat the officers on the path and increase your army’s morale. When you advance ahead of the southern gate, Guo Jia will gain suspicion of the forest ahead. He’ll ask you scout ahead, so do it. Remember, the black paths on the side of the white path is the forest, and at the top of the black paths are the highlighted areas in which you scout. The closest path will initiate and ambush at the highlighted areas. Defeat the ambush troops and claim the base. After you claim one base, you don’t have to claim the other. The pincer attack Tao Qian was planning ended once you’ve done that. Congrats! The Xu Province Castle South Gates will open. Once you enter the castle, Lu You will get angry and attack, along with the rest of the soldiers. Piece of cake, so defeat them. Specifically Lu You and Cao Bao. Not long during your brawl, Liu Bei’s forces will arrive. Cao Cao says he has no choice but to defeat Liu Bei as well. Immediately after he says that, the victory conditions will change to “Defeat Liu Bei". Tao Qian will set Xu Province Castle on fire and you’ll take some damage. Hurry and get out. Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun will start to charge Cao Cao’s main camp. Go to the West Gate of the castle and defeat Ze Rong to open the gates. Intercept Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun and defeat them. Sun Guan may also appear around that area so you may need to kick his butt too. In certain circumstances, you may want to go to the main camp and clear it of enemy soldiers too, just to be safe. When done, charge up the path towards Liu Bei who is positioned in the top left corner of the map. He is highlighted. Not far into the path, Mi Zhu will greet you. Greet him with death. Not far after, you’ll enter a base. Kill the Base Captain, claim the base. Well, you’ll actually have to because the garrison gates will close and Chen Deng will ambush you. Defeat him. Kong Rong will also join the ambush. He must be defeated as well, but the gates open after Chen Deng is defeated so it’s your choice. Zang Ba will greet you soon after if you take his route Defeat him. When you reach Liu Bei, Guan Yu will also appear with him. Defeat them both, or defeat just Liu Bei. Your choice. Once you defeat Liu Bei, the stage is won. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 5 - Battle of Puyang - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BPY) Available characters: - Xiahou Dun - Xiahou Yuan - Yue Jin ======================== Playing as everyone: ======================== When the battle starts, follow the army across the central bridge and defeat Hao Meng. The Northern Garrison gates will open as a message will appear informing you of just that. About the same time, you'll get a message that says the scouts have reported that Lu Bu's reinforcements have arrived to the battlefield, which just happens to be at the checkpoint on top of the one way cliff at the other side of the central bridge. This also happens to be the one you just crossed and defeated Hao Meng on. The enemy reinforcements are led by Gao Shun and Zhang Hu. Continue to head straight towards Puyang and you'll meet up with the two reinforcement officers. Defeat them. Advance onto the wooden plank deck that the other two officers are advancing across and push into the enemy lines. You'll come across Cao Xing somewhere within that general area. When you defeat him, he'll shout on about how he'll have his revenge and what not. Head to the south side of Puyang where Zhang Liao will be guarding the closed gates. He'll rally so he's harder to beat. Defeating him will open the "Juan" gates and you'll be able to rendezvous with Xun Yu. Enter the castle and then a cutscene will trigger. During this cutscene, Xiahou Dun will get struck in the eye by Cao Xing and he'll start boasting and what not. He gets shot down by Xiahou Yuan and you know the story, haha. When the cutscene ends, Lu Bu's main unit arrives on the opposite side of the battlefield, and yes, Puyang Castle is now in their hands. Head towards Puyang Castle to complete the newly changed victory conditions! (Defeat Lu Bu) When you approach the central bridge where you started the battle, the gates will be closed and the bridge will be destroyed. An ambush party will attack led by Cheng Lian. Defeat him. The gates will reopen and Cao Cao's forces will state the obvious on how the bridge can't be crossed. However, a bridge on the south side of the battlefield can be crossed. There is a path you can take towards it so use it. Song Xian will greet you not far into the path with a little ambush. Piece of cake, right? At the same time, Zhang Miao will arrive at the northern side of the battlefield and he'll seal off the Puyang Castle Outworks. Since the southern bridge leads to a sealed off entrance, you'll have to use the newly discovered path at the very bottom of the battlefield. Kill the gatekeeper to enter the path. The first area you enter will trigger the discovering of Xu Si. Defeat him. The Southern Garrison gates will open after he's defeated. The next gate is guarded by Wang Kai. Defeat him, open the gate. The next gate is guarded by Fan Yi. Defeat him, open the gate. When you enter the next area, Zhang Liao will reappear and attack after discovering your attack route. When he's defeated, the Puyang Castle Southern Chamber South Gates will open. Pass through them and defeat a surprised Wei Xu. The east gate will open, but not the north. Head over to Hou Cheng who'll be highlighted and defeat him. Defeating him opens the Outworks and the Castle Eastern Chamber East Gates. After that, Cao Cao and the main unit will arrive in your support. Head over and defeat Zang Ba. The Chamber West Gates will open following Zang Ba's defeat. The defeat conditions will change so that Cao Cao's the one who cannot be defeated if you are to win. But no bother. The next area is loaded with enemies led by Chen Gong, Diaochan, and Lu Bu himself. Defeat him. He'll retreat and the battle will be won. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 6 - Imperial Escort - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (IE) Available characters: - Cao Cao - Xu Huang * - Li Dian - Xiahou Yuan ===================== Playing as everyone: ===================== While your own horseback to start the battle, along with the other three officers, you’ll notice they dismount and Yuan Shu’s forces will appear. PROTECT THE CARRIAGE AT ALL COSTS! The officers highlighted will be Lei Bo, Yuan Huan, and Zhang Xun. Defeat everyone near the carriage and defeat Lei Bo first, I recommend. After that, the carriage will turn back to Chang’an and there’ll be a suspicion that someone else is commandeering it. Charge the carriage and defeat the enemies that appear near it to reclaim it. The officer will be Guo Si. Head over to Zhang Xun and get rid of him to seal off the second byroad. Ignore the small troops and hurry to Yuan Huan and defeat him to secure the last byroad! Defeat Yan Xiang and Yuan Shu! Get on your horse and follow the carriage! Lu Bu will appear to be heading towards the carriage. The carriage will stop at a hill because of boulders being dropped down. Take the detour or dodge the boulders, make your choice. When done, defeat Li Jue. When he’s done for, the rocks will be stopped. Defeat Huche’er because the carriage will advance towards him. When you arrive to the newly highlighted area towards the escape point, Lu Bu will arrive at the bottom right corner of the map and a fog will rise, causing you to lose the full map during combat. Tian Feng will attack along with a couple other officers. The Emperor will exit the carriage and you must escort him personally towards the escape point. But first, you must find him. Defeat all the enemy officers and go to the northern path on the intersection take the next path and you’ll find him. Escort him to the escape point. Defeat Yuan Shu and done! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 7 - Battle of Wan Castle - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BWC) Special conditions: 1) Rescuing Cao Ang and Cao Anmin will affect the Battle of Chibi - This WILL affect unlocking the hypothetical / "what if" stages. - You can do this with all characters. When Cao Ang and Cao Anmin are announced "in trouble", ignore EVERYTHING and quickly haul to their location to save them. This will end up not unlocking the Battle of Xiapi but the hypothetical branchout (Chibi) needs them saved to be unlocked. 2) Failing to rescue Cao Ang and Cao Anmin will enable the stage 'Battle of Xiapi' to be unlocked. - This WILL affect unlocking the hypothetical / "what if" stages. - You can do this with all characters. As per above. Only you fail. 3) Helping Dian Wei to survive will enable him to appear in Guandu and Chibi. - This won't affect unlocking the hypothetical / "what if" stages. - You can do this with Cao Cao only? (You might be able to do this with Dian Wei) - Completing this condition will make Dian Wei a playable character in the Battle of Guandu and the Battle of Chibi. The way I did it was playing as Dian Wei, saving Cao Anmin and Cao Ang, and finishing the battle as fast as I could. Cao Anmin and Cao Ang say that they'll fight by the hurt Dian Wei and I believe that completes the condition right there. Available characters: - Cao Cao - Dian Wei =================== Playing as Cao Cao: =================== When you start the stage, of course, Wan Castle is engulfed in flames. Damage will occur to your life, like always. Advance south and you’ll confront Huche’er. Defeat him. Take the northern route with Dian Wei as told. Although, when you take the turn at the first corner, you’ll have to deal with arbalests. After the next turn, two more arbalests. Destroy them as well. Always keep in mind to grab dim sums for health whenever you get a chance. Remember the fire’s damage it inflicted? Yeah, not cool. When you turn the next corner, siege weapons will be activated. Destroy them, they’re easy breaks. Notice that Han Xian will be in the area. He’s an easy kill but it doesn’t stop the siege weapons. Destroy all of the weapons to open the gate. The next area will be an ambush. Defeat all the “Unit Commander” enemies to reopen the gates. When done, you’ll be informed you have to save Cao Cao’s sons, Cao Anmin and Cao Ang. Saving them will complete a condition. The next room is full of ballistas. Defeat the one controlling them to stop the ballistas. Or destroy the ballistas, your choice. Oh and remember Cao Anmin and Cao Ang? They die like right when you meet up with the ballistas so either save them or, what most people do, end up having to play the Battle of Xiapi. But if you really want to save them, charge hard towards the castle gates by defeating only the enemies you "have"-"have" to and then proceed to them by taking a couple corners when you reach the castle gates. No other gates near Cao Ang and Cao Anmin are closed. Defeat Yang Feng and the gate will open. The next room is a little game where you have to avoid falling off into the water when the fans blow you away. Navigate your way to the Unit Commander at the end of the room near the gate and kill him.The gate will open. Jump down into the next room and defeat Zhang Xian to open the castle gates and exit the castle to trigger a cutscene. Now Guo Jia and Xiahou Dun join your side of the battle. Defeat Zuo Ling and Yang Ding. Lei Xu may also wander over to you so he needs to be defeated too. Li Yue may wander over too, he also needs to go bye bye. When you clear the outsides of Wan of enemy officers, head over to the southwest corner of the map and search the vicinity of Wan Castle like Guo Jia says. Scouts will be spotted when you enter one of the three garrisons. Defeat them. Capture the last two garrisons quickly before Liu Biao’s reinforcements arrive. When successful, lead Liu Biao’s forces into the garrisons for your own ambush when they arrive. Wan Castle shall have its western gates opened so now is your opportunity to go and strike Jia Xu and Zhang Xiu. Since Zhang Xiu’s the one advancing, he’ll be your first target. Take him down and advance to Jia Xu. During your advance towards Jia Xu, an ambush or two will happen, do what you normally do and destroy their attempts at a good ambush. When Jia Xu is done for, the battle is won. ==================== Playing as Dian Wei: ==================== Basically the same as Cao Cao, only you have to protect him. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 8 - Battle of Xiapi - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BXX) Available characters: - Jia Xu * - Xiahou Dun - Guo Jia * ==================== Playing as Jia Xu: ==================== Take the path you start on and advance until you reach a closed gate and a gatekeeper. Beat him to open the South Garrison West Gates. Quickly defeat Hou Cheng and open exit gate because a messenger will discover you and head off to warn the enemy forces of your plot. Charge him, which would preferably use horseback to achieve easily and lessen the difficulty of the battle for you. When you reach the southeast corner of the map and hopefully the messenger was slain, you need to advance north. Follow that path and you'll end up entering a garrison that an enemy officer known as Yin Li is in. Defeat him. One completed, continue on north. You'll soon reach Zhang Hu at the northeast corner of the map. Defeat him. Circle around the north path to your left and defeat the gatekeeper guarding the floodgates. Enter the floodgates. Zhang Liao will be guarding the floodgates. Defeat him. When Zhang Liao is defeated, he'll be captured by Cao Cao's forces. On the floodgates' east wall will be a gizmo with a yellow ring around it. Approach it and attack it. One hit should do the trick. The floodgates will open and the castle will be flooded. The flood attack will cause the bulk of the Lu Bu forces surrounding Xiapi Castle to withdraw. Head down the path south of the floodgates and you'll reach a garrison. Defeat the gatekeeper to open the garrison gate. On your right is a staircase. Head down it and approach Xiapi Castle. You'll probably run into Gao Shun. Defeat him. All the Xiapi Castle Outward Gates should be open. Sadly, most of the time, Guo Jia won't be close to done with the advance from the west. So you'll only get help from the middle. Head through the west gate and you'll reach a gatekeeper. Defeat him, open the gate. Now quickly defeat Wei Xu and open the other gate, cause you're gonna need to gun down a messenger being dispatched by Chen Gong attempted to request Yuan Shu's reinforcements. Using horseback is recommended. After you defeat him, head over to Chen Gong and defeat him to open the gates. Now you need to deal with Lu Bu. Luckily, he isn't Hulao Gate difficulty. When Lu Bu's defeated, you'll win the battle. ======================= Playing as Xiahou Dun: ======================= First things first, capture the Southern Garrison so you can lower the drawbridge and proceed to move the catapults. The enemy officer inside the Southern Garrison will be Song Xian. Defeat him. A messenger will discover Jia Xu and will start heading towards the flood gates. He'll reach various locations on the complete east side of the map, increasing defenses for the enemy there. Head over to the eastern drawbridge and defeat the gatekeeper to lower it. Head over the central garrison from the east side and defeat the gatekeeper to open the central eastern garrison gate. Defeat Cao Xing to open the last gate and cross the bridge. Zang Ba will start to fire the ballistas he has and the central western garrison gates will close, or at least the north one. Defeat Xu Si to reopen it. Take the north gate exit and circle around that little cliff. You'll reach a gatekeeper. Defeat him and enter the base. Defeat the enemies in the base and you'll end up reopening the gates for that garrison. Take the one on the west and circle around the south path and defeat the Unit Commander to lower the western draw bridge. Enter the Westerh Garrison and defeat Zang Ba. This'll stop the ballista attack and allow your allies to continue their advance. The catapults will move towards Xiapi Castle and Chen Gong will see them, and order Lu Bu's forces to destroy the catapults. Hao Meng will start to advance. Do not let the catapults be destroyed. Defeat all the enemies in the vicinity of Xiapi Castle as a diversion. That's what the game will tell you. Head back to the garrison before the Western Garrison but after the Eastern Garrison. You'll end up seeing Hao Meng. Defeat him. Zhang Liao will be captured by the Eastern Force. You need to take the north gate and continue on north. You'll reach a staircase to your right, head down the starircase and defeat the highlighted "Unit Commanders" to complete your diversion. During this, Jia Xu's flood attack should unfold. If this happens, lucky for you. Why? You don't need to do that diversion thingy anymore. The castle gates will open. Enter the castle and make your way to the NORTHWEST castle gates. This is because Chen Gong will deploy a messenger to request reinforcements from Yuan Shu. Charge the messenger and slay him before he leaves the battlefield. After you defeat him, the main gates should open and the catapults should take out Lu Bu's archers. Head over to Lu Bu's Main Camp's Gates and he'll start yelling. The gates will open and your chance is now. Defeat Lu Bu. He's not hard to defeat this time, luckily. When he's beaten, you win the battle. ===================== Playing as Guo Jia: ===================== This is the same as playing as Xiahou Dun. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 9 - Battle of Guandu - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (BGD) Available characters: - Cao Pi * - Yue Jin - Guo Jia - Dian Wei (If special condition during the Battle of Wan Castle is completed) ==================== Playing as Cao Pi: ==================== First, you'll be ordered to assist the fight at Baima. Defeating Yan Liang will capture it. Next, assist the capturing of Yanjin. When you defeat Wen Chou, Yanjin is captured. When they're both captured, Yuan Shao then orders his forces to retake the two bases. The north gates of Baima and Yanjin should open. You'll recieve orders to not let the two bases fall. If you're in Baima at the time, head north or wait until Yuan Shang comes to you. Defeat him. If you're in Yanjin at the time, head north or wait until Yuan Tan comes to you. Defeat him. Around that time, Gao Rou and Lu Kuang will start their advance from the Yellow River North Base. Defeat them. The north gates to Baima and Yanjin open when the Yuan brother is defeated in their respective location. Head north. Xu You should arrive near the southwest part of the map and will surrender to your forces. He'll suggest burning Wuchao. As Yue Jin will protect and escort the fire attack unit, you'll be ordered to keep the enemy occupied. Head a little more north and defeat Feng Ji, Wang Mo, and Lu Kuang. Zhang Fei and Liu Bei will start their advance around the same time Wang Mo, Feng Ji, and Lu Kuang start their advance. They'll meet up with Guan Yu and Liu Bei and Zhang Fei will flee from the battlefield. When Wuchao is successfully set on fire, Zhang He will surrender and the gates to Guandu Castle will open. Charge towards Yuan Shao's location. You'll end up having to defeat Zhenji, so defeat her. She'll defect and the gates will open. Defeat Yuan Shao to win the battle. ==================== Playing as Yue Jin: ==================== Head out the north gate and attack the first base you encounter. Defeat Ju Shou to capture the base. After you complete this, Yuan Shao will order his forces to launch an assault, causing all gates on the south side of Yanjin and Baima to open. Yuan Shao's forces take the bait and advance towards Yue Jin, AKA you. Chunyu Qiong, Lu Xiang, and Gao Lan will greet you first, so defeat them. When you're done with that, head east and assist in capturing Yanjin and Baima. The first you'll reach will be Yanjin, but the north gates won't open, so circling around and using the south will be key. When Wen Chou is defeated, Yanjin is captured. Same goes for Baima. Only Yan Liang needs to be defeated to take Baima. When they're both captured, Yuan Shao then orders his forces to retake the two bases. The north gates of Baima and Yanjin should open. You'll recieve orders to not let the two bases fall. At the same time, Xu You will arrive at the southeast where you created a diversion by defeating Ju Shou. He surrenders from Yuan Shao's forces to Cao Cao's forces. Then, he suggests burning Wuchao. A fire attack unit will arrive at the southwest castle gates. Head over to the fire attack unit. Escort them across the river from the west side and lead them to the checkpoint on the west just across the river. He Mao and Jiao Chu will start to advance towards the fire attack unit, so they need to be defeated too. Meanwhile, Guan Yu should end up approaching Liu Bei and Zhang Fei. They'll end up fleeing with the exception of Guan Yu. When the fire attack unit reaches the target location, you'll need to fight off the vicinity's enemy forces until Wuchao is engulfed in flames. Zhang He will defect from Yuan Shao's forces to Cao Cao's forces following that. Then the Guandu Castle Gates will open. Charge towards Yuan Shao's location. You'll end up having to defeat Zhenji, so defeat her. She'll defect and the gates will open. Defeat Yuan Shao to win the battle. ==================== Playing as Guo Jia: ==================== First, you'll be ordered to assist the fight at Yanjin with Li Dian. Defeat Wen Chou to capture it. Next, assist the capturing of Baima. Yan Liang will need to be defeated to capture it. ======================= Playing as Dian Wei: ======================= This is the same as if you were playing as Yue Jin. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage 10 - Battle of Mt. Kill the gatekeeper, enter the base in the center across the Han River, and defeat Yang Fu. Once done, the calvary will stop its advance and the enemy morale will drop. Ma Chao then will order the Coalition Forces to launch an attack from the west and east and Han Sui will head over to the Eastern Garrison. Cao Cao then will need you to protect him as he heads over to Han Sui. Xu Huang will then protect Cao Cao's main camp. The defeat conditions will change and add that the main camp falls. Which can be done if Xu Huang is defeated. Head east up the path and escort Cao Cao. Midway, Ma Dai will ambush you, so you'll need to beat him up.
When Cao Cao reaches the wall,
he'll start talking to Han Sui.
The wall is actually the Eastern
Garrison Gates and will open. Cao Cao
and Han Sui will vanish from the battlefield
in order to talk. So now you fight some
baddies.
Ma Chao will notice Han Sui's inability
to advance and will grow suspcious. Pang De
will start to advance towards your position
and herds of reinforcements for the
Coalition forces will arrive at the East path.
Head over to the enemy reinforcements and
continuously collect KOs so Pang De is lured out
to you. Defeat Pang De. Han Sui will defect.
If you don't lure Pang De, just defeat the both
of them.
Jia Xu will order you to destroy the ballistaes
on the top of the gate and Ma Chao will
temporarily withdraw. PS go the main camp.
Ma Chao will charge in. Defeat him
and everyone who is there
with him. Ma Chao will temporarily
withdraw again. Head to the ballistae
by using the Eastern Garrison's
south exit and destroy them.
Rams will appear in the garrison
just north of the Han River. They'll
head to the first checkpoint. Make
sure the rams are not destroyed.
When the first gate is destroyed,
make way to the second gate.
Ma Chao should reappear at his main
camp by now. Cheng Gongying
will appear on the west path and start
advancing. Ballistae will start
shooting at the ram from the
second checkpoint. On the first
checkpoint's gate, there should be
staircases. Take the to the west
and follow that trail. Destroy the
ballistae on the second checkpoint's
gate. The ram will resume its advance
and break down the second checkpoint.
Head to the third checkpoint.
Defeat Cheng Yi. Yan Xing will
appear to the west
on a cliff and will activate the catapults.
Use the second checkpoint's staircase
to the west and defeat Yan Xing.
Use the catapults to break down Tong Gate.
Head into Ma Chao's main camp and defeat him
to win the battle.

Stage 14 A - Battle of Hefei
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(BHF)
Available characters:
- Zhang Liao
- Li Dian
- Yue Jin
=========================
Playing as Zhang Liao:
=========================
Since Yue Jin and Li Dian will be
defending the castle from the rams,
it is your duty to execute Zhang Liao's
famous Hefei carnage.
Take the western path, which can
be accessed from the garrison
in the northwest corner of the map.
On the way, you should notice
the enemy forces trembling
in fear before Zhang Liao!
You'll have to defeat Lu Fan
to advance beyond the northwest
garrison.
Defeat Song Qian.
Capture the base to advance.
After so, Li Dian will start
to grow vigilant on Zhang Liao's
actions and Yue Jin will advance
from Hefei Castle along with Li
Dian.
Jump off the cliff (lol) and start
slashing up the enemy.
The garrison gates will open and
you'll get ambushed by Gan Ning
and Ling Tong. Defeat them.
Yue Jin will then start to create
a distraction in the south, so
head over the highlighted section
of the eastern cliffs AKA the middle
cliff.
The enemy army will start to advance
and the gates in the vicinity
of the central will open for all
the bases. Lu Meng and others will
start to advance.
You'll need a ladder, so free
the captive Engineers by defeating
Sun Shao who is stationed in the garrison
literally right next to the target cliff.
Climb the ladder once put in place,
and call your horse. Why? You need
to get to Xiaoshi Bridge rather
quickly than slowly.
Ah, you think it's that easy? Nope,
because Taishi Ci will appear in the
eastern garrison amongst the path.
Defeating him is required to advance.
Once the gates are opened, recall
your trusty steed and resume
your advance onto Xiaoshi Bridge.
When you reach the bridge, enter
the yellow ringed area and press
triangle. The bridge will be destroyed.
Capture the three bases in the vicinity of the
enemy's main camp and then pursue
Sun Quan. Sun Quan will begin the retreat,
the drawbridges will lower and he'll end
up stopping and waiting for his forces
to assist him. Head into his main camp
and on the east side is a path you need
take. Jump down at the end and defeat
Sun Quan.
========================
Playing as Li Dian:
========================
Alright, when the battle starts,
hurry up and haul to the outsides
of the castle, make sure it is
the front side. Destroy the rams.
Defeat everyone in front of Hefei
Castle such as Lu Meng, Jiang Qin, etc.
Head towards the northwest and defeat
Chen Wu.
Once done, you and Yue Jin will set
out to the offensive. Xue Ti will
now be in charge of the defense of
Hefei Castle.
Zhang Liao will be surrounded
at the Western Garrison, so follow
Yue Jin down the northwest path
and save Zhang Liao after the cutscene.
Save him by defeating Ling Tong
and Gan Ning.
Yue Jin will then start to create
a distraction in the south, so
head over the highlighted section
of the eastern cliffs AKA the middle
cliff.
The enemy army will start to advance
and the gates in the vicinity

=========================
Playing as Yue Jin:
=========================
First things first, bust literal ass
to the outsides of Hefei Castle
and destroy the rams, even though they'll
likely be destroyed before you can.
Er, the gates I mean.
Defeat everyone in front of Hefei
Castle such as Lu Meng, Jiang Qin, etc.
Once done, you and Li Dian will set
out to the offensive. Xue Ti will
now be in charge of the defense of
Hefei Castle.
Zhang Liao will be surrounded
at the Western Garrison, so follow
Li Dian down the northwest path
and save Zhang Liao after the cutscene.
Save him by defeating Ling Tong
and Gan Ning. Head to the South Base
and defeat Cheng Pu to create a distraction.
You can destroy the ballistae after you
defeat Cheng Pu, it's easier. Dong Xi
will then charge to the South Base.
Right outside to the east side
of your position, Han Dang and Ding Feng
will arrive with Sun Quan's reinforcements.
Defeat them. Once Xiaoshi Bridge is destroyed,
capture the three bases in the vicinity of the
enemy's main camp and then pursue
Sun Quan. Sun Quan will begin the retreat,
the drawbridges will lower and he'll end

Playing as everyone:

Proceed forward into the area where your
army's ballistaes are operating. Defeat
Wu Yi, Cheng Shi, Ma Liang, and Meng Da
to clear out that area from Liu Bei's
invading forces.
Soon enough, Zhang Bao will start
advancing towards the position so
you still need to be on the defensive
edge. He'll appear from the east side
of the area. Gao Xiang will also advance,
appearing to the south of the area.
Ma Dai, too, will also join in on the advance.
However, he'll have siege ramps placed to
the east south of their vanguard's position.
He'll use the east mountain path to circle around
and attack from behind. Open your gates, advance
around the rear path eastward and defeat Ma Dai.
Now Zhao Yun will start his advance. As he does,
Huang Zhong will appear on the west path and he'll
head to the northwest corner of the map, being Mt.
Tiandang. Hurry and aid Xiahou De by defeating
Huang Zhong before he defeats him! Use the central
exit on the north part of the map and advance up the
defensive-oriented hill on your horse! Be aware,
Yan Yan is with Huang Zhong. If successful, you'll
complete a condition and Xiahou Yuan will live to
see past his historical death year.
In the northeast, Jia Xu will arrive with Cao Cao's
reinforcements.
Now is your chance to press the slaughter. Advance
southward into Liu Bei's forces.
Be careful and take your advance NOT STRAIGHT
DOWN THE MIDDLE because arbalest will be activated
by Zhuge Liang if you do. You can use the
garrison on the west side later, but it won't
open at this point. Use the east side, it
has Mi Zhu positioned there but there are no
gates.
Ma Chao will start his advance in the central,
so defeat him when he isn't backed up
by arbalests. Zhang Fei will arrive to the east.
Be nice, defeat Zhang Fei and destroy the arbalests.
Now, when you reach the gates to their main camp,
you'll need to defeat Yueying in order to open
those gates. When you enter the main camp,
Zhuge Liang will arrive. Since he's the enemy commander,
you'll need to defeat him. When he's defeated, you'll
win the battle.

=====================
Playing as everyone:
=====================
Just an FYI, even on Normal,
this battle can prove to be
really freaking hard. So be ready.
When the battle starts, pick a horse. Any horse.
Fu Fang, Yu Jin, and Hu Xiu are plotting to
defect because your forces are losing at the
start of the battle. You can prevent this,
however. Advance towards the
castle a few paces and defeat Ma Liang.
Now advance towards the castle some more and
defeat Jian Yong. Hu Xiu should be good now.
Now head a little to the west and defeat Meng Da
(who should be Cao Cao's forces at this time historically
but whatever) in order to prevent Fu Fang from defecting.
Head to the west a bit more and enter the garrison.
Defeat Liu Xian to prevent Yu Jin from defecting.
Defeat the gatekeeper to exit the garrison (those swines
locking us in!) and proceed with your next task.
You'll notice a report that Guan Yu is having
his army use catapults to attack Fan Castle.
This isn't good, and the castle will fall
quickly if you do not rush to its aid.
Hurry into Fan Castle and protect Cao Ren
by defeating Mi Zhu and Liu Du.
Once completed, Lu Meng and his army
of Sun Quan reinforcements will arrive
in your aid to the absolute southeast
corner of the map. The only bad thing about
it now is that Lu Meng can't be defeated either.
Head out the south gates of the castle and defeat
the enemy forces surrounding the vicinity.
Lu Meng will order his forces to halt basically
right after he arrives. This is because Zhou Cang
will start using ballistae attacks from the cliff
to the north of their arrival point. Advance south
from the east and defeat Zhou Cang to thrwart the
attack and allow their forces to resume their march.
Their forces will be trapped inside the southeastern
garrison almost immediately after their march
resumes (facepalm) and Wei Yan and Guan Suo
will need to be defeated to allow them to resume their
advance once again.
But wait, it's not that easy. Guan Xing will appear
with another rock attack unit from the central cliffs.
Use the path in the center, circle around the path
on the east side and defeat Guan Xing. He'll temporarily
withdraw once done.
At this time, a condition can be completed. However,
you'll have to leave the forces of Lu Meng in charge of
freeing themselves in this gamble. Okay?
Pang De will be spotted in a deathmatch in the northwest
near the floodgates. Head towards the northwest corner
of the castle's south side and use the path on the west.
Use your trusty steed to charge (stopping at nothing in between
except for gates you must clear in order to advance)
to the very end of the path on the west side of the map.
Head north when you reach the path, and then head east and
defeat Zhao Lei and Shen Yi.
When Guan Ping arrives on the western
vicinity of Fan Castle's south side, you might wanna
hurry up and charge him.
After so, it'd be wise to double check
the safety of Fan Castle and defeat any enemy
generals that are still around and/or are in
the castle. When Guan Ping is defeated, you'll
probably have noticed by now each Guan brother
temporarily withdraws when they are defeated the
first time. Keep this in mind.
Once the allied armies order the advance onto Guan
Yu, Guan Yu will close the checkpoints that lead to his
main camps. Lu Meng orders the capture of the southern
garrison in order to use rams to break through his defense.
However, basically at the same time Huang Zhong will arrive
at the northwest path will enemy reinforcements. He'll head
south so don't immediately charge after him. Capture the southern
garrison and get the rams going. Fan You will need to be defeated
in the garrison.
Ma Chao, too, will also arrive where Huang Zhong arrived
not that long after. But Ma Chao, however, IS targeting
Fan Castle. So if the rams aren't already secured
and remain in the process of destroying the defenses or
after so, I'd defeat Ma Chao.
When you pass the checkpoints and approach
the enemy's main camp gates, Guan Yinping
will be reinforced by materializing brothers of her's.
However, Yinping only needs to be defeating to proceed onto
Guan Yu. When Guan Yu is defeated, you win the battle.
