Introduction The purpose of this Walkthrough is to take you from the beginning of the game all the way to the final battle with Dirth picking up all the neccassary equipment along the way. I'm also interested in the $30 bounty for a FAQ/Walkthrough for Neutopia I. Though I doubt I'm going to get it because I'm not interested in filling in every little nit-picking detail. I am not going to repeat things that are printed in the instruction booklet, however. If you lost your instructions or are playing with an emulator there is at least 1 copy of the instruction book online at the time of this writing. Even if you can't find a copy of the instructions most of the games mechanics are pretty straightforward. _________________ II. Land Sphere Select Start from the opening menu by pressing the Run button and read the opening dialogue. The old lady will give you the compass which will direct you to the labyrinths located in each sphere. While inside the labyrinths it will also point toward the location of the medallion you?re after. You can return to the old lady at any time to get a password or save your game with the file manager. She'll also heal you if you ask for the password. Head south three times and into the staircase. You can either listen to the old man or skip his rambling by pressing the II button. Press against the chest to open it and gain the Book of Revival. This will allow you to get passwords. Travel west and use the cave entrance. Get the medicine of vitality and four bombs from the two chests and exit. You can only carry eight bombs now but you will gain upgrades as the game progresses. Proceed west, north, then west. Under this tree is a man who well sell bombs and to the south is a lady who will sell vitality medicines. You wont be able to get to the bomb seller until you have the fire wand to burn down the tree but we'll get that later. You probably can't afford the 200 gold required for the medicine so just skip the lady for now. Go north 4 times then east, north, and west. If you wish to get the password or save your game you can enter the cave and talk to the old lady there. Head north, if you need healing kill both crabs and enter the staircase, after that head east and you'll begin the first labyrinth. ___________ Labyrinth 1 Going east and then north twice will bring you too a fire spitting head. Avoid him and go west then north. You'll have to kill all 4 monsters to open the door again but make sure you get the crystal ball first. Return to the room with the fire spitter and then head east twice to get the crypt key. In each room you'll have to slaughter all the monsters to continue progressing. In the room with the treasure chest you'll have to push the block north or south. Once more back to the fire head and this time north twice. More monster killing awaits. You'll need to eliminate the monsters in this room to open the 3 doors. Take the west door first. Kill the monsters, grab your armor, come back and head north. You'll never need to enter the eastern door. To the north you'll find an old man listen to what he says if you want or just press the II button to skip it. Use a bomb on the east wall and take the newly created exit. If you don't have any bombs you'll either have to kill a bunch of monsters until you find some or go get the fire wand and use it to access the earlier mentioned bomb shop. The directions to the fire wand are two paragraphs down. Go east twice killing all the monsters you find to unlock both doors. You'll also need the crypt key to unlock the last door to face the boss. Once you go in to face the boss there is no turning back. It's a two men enter one man leaves kind of deal. The first boss you face will be a blue dragon who shoots 4 fireballs ever few moments. The easiest way to kill him is to stay away until he shoots his fireballs. Once you dodge those walk up to the dragon and get in 2 or 3 quick swings the run back to the other edge of the room that'll give you more room to dodge his fireballs. Repeat the process until he's dead. If you're a bit more daring you can attempt to stunlock him by repeatedly hitting him and not letting him recover. The dragon will explode in multiple fireballs of blood and gore. Well there's no blood and gore but you'd assume there was. This display will end shortly and you can go north to grab the first medallion. You'll immediately be teleported back to the shrine where you began. You'll also gain a life meter increase. From the shrine you'll need to go south 3 times, east 4 times, and north twice. Kill the slime there and then push the bottom right rock in any direction to reveal a hidden staircase. Inside is a monk who will give you the fire wand. You'll need to go west, north twice, west twice, north, west, north twice, west and finally south. Got all that? If you did you should be in a room with 4 monsters and a wall mural use a bomb on the wall mural. Enter and you'll find the Monk of Kee who'll increase your life meter by one. Backtrack north, east, and then south. Go east three times and then south twice. The password lady is here if you want to save. Head east, if you need healing go south and burn the western most tree otherwise, head north into the 2nd labyrinth. ___________ Labyrinth 2 Once into the labyrinth head north and notice the brownish blocks. They'll stick out swords in the 4 cardinal directions if you get to close so be very careful of them. North again, kill the monsters and push the eastern block to continue north again. The old man here will tell you that you need a "large supply" of bombs to continue. You'll actually only need two bombs. After you ignore the old mans dire ramblings head west and then south. Inside the chest you'll find the bronze sword which will quite obviously deal more damage than your first one. Go back north and then west. Practice with your new sword on the conviently placed monsters, push the block and then go north to grab the crystal ball. Once you have the ball go back south. Return to the old man by going east twice. Walk east twice again perform more heroic acts of monster killing and singular block pushing. Head north once and place a bomb on the northern wall while avoiding the fire spitters to open up a passage. Through the passage is the room containing the crypt key. Force yourself to see the old man for the last time. Once you get back to him head east 3 times. From the pool room travel south twice perform your secondary role of monster exterminator to open some doors. Use the second bomb you need on the western wall to create a new passage. Once you walk through you'll notice a room with four monsters and one brown block. This block will try to stab you much like the ones from before. Kill all four monsters and open the door the the 2nd boss of the game. Your next bossly encounter will be with a walking robot. (Apparently he's jewish as well. He'll still fight you on the sabbath though.) He'll walk around a bit and then his eyes will begin to flash. Once they do you'll know he's about to split into 8 parts. The parts will scatter in 8 directions to reveal his inner core. The core itself will head directly toward you. You can use the fire wand to destroy the flying parts if you wish as well. After you dodge his flying parts attack the core with the fire wand or your sword. A few cycles of this and he'll eventually explode. Go north to collect your medallion. You'll teleport back to the shrine and receive your life increase reward and access to the next sphere. You've now completed one fourth of the game. ________________ III. Subterranean Sphere. The more things change the more they stay the same. The sphere's are little more than scenery changes. The monsters aren't all that much different and you'll still collect 2 equipment upgrades and two medallions. So take in the new sights and prepare yourself by picking up bombs and medicine from the land sphere. You can find sellers of both items in the other spheres but the cost progressively increases. Your going to start off in the new sphere by grabbing the moonbeam moss. Using the moss will allow you to light darkened rooms. It's not exactly required to beat the game but it?d be difficult to do without. Start by going north six screens (make sure you go west of the lava on the second screen). Go east and burn the stalactites to reveal a staircase. Enter and collect the moonbeam moss then return south to the shrine entrance. Move west twice and burn the protruding stalactite to show a staircase that contains an 800 gold reward. Go south and perform a little ant removal while practicing your moonbeam moss skills. Push the eastern stone and enter the staircase to increase your bomb capacity. You're now ready for the first labyrinth. Battle your way north until it seems like your passage north is blocked by stalactites. One of the stalactites is burnable with the wand and you can continue north without going east. You'll find the password lady inside a visible staircase to the left of 3 rock monsters. The path blocked by the rock monsters leads to nothing so continue along the western path north until you reach the labyrinth entrance. ___________ Labyrinth 3 From the labyrinth entrance room go north, east, and south lighting rooms as necessary. In the room with the treasure chest kill all four toadstools and push the western most block south or north to gain access to the crystal ball. From the crystal room head north 3 times solving a minor block puzzle along the way. Dispense some justice on the monsters in this room to unlock the western door which leads to the Bronze Shield which means you can actually block some of the ranged attacks of the monsters on this sphere now. Return to the room one north of the first room in the labyrinth. Maneuver your way west twice and then north three times to find a monster room that contains some sword blocks and normal ones. The upper left block will open the door for you. North again to find the boss door. You don't have the crypt key yet so take the only other worthwhile exit which is to the east. In this room you'll have get past a monster generator that doesn't stop while avoiding some sword blocks in order to get north. The easiest way to do this is to continue shooting your fire wand at the monster generator until it stops generating them. Then from a safe distance use your wand to kill a few of the monsters. If you kill all the monsters the generator will start again so only kill enough to let by. North twice from the monster generator will put you in another locked room. The moving block is on the bottom row in the middle left column. To the east is the crypt key. Once you have it make your way back to the room with the boss door. Eliminate the monsters again and open the boss door. The first boss of this sphere is actually two flying gargoyle like creatures. From my experience they have a shared life gauge as one will always die shortly after the other so don't worry about only attacking one until it dies. Just attack the one thats more closest. Other than the standard ramming attack each of them will take time to pause and throw out 8 knives. Just avoid the knives and attack with your wand our sword until they pause again. They'll die after a bit of this. Collect the medallion and get ready for the next labyrinth by picking up any medicines or bombs that you wish from the land sphere. ________________ VII.
