INTRODUCTION [100] =============================================================================== Hello dear reader. Welcome to my walkthrough. This web document should be fully capable of guiding you to the ending of this game and the obtainment of all of the collectibles you'll need for 100% completion, if that is what you desire. This guide is excellent, if I do say so myself. You're in for a real treat. The game you're being walkedthrough now is New Super Luigi U for the Nintendo Wii U. This is a pretty unique Nintendo game... though not in terms of content. This game is something like an 'expansion pack' or 'extensive dlc' for the Wii U launch title New Super Mario Bros. U. Nintendo is really experimenting with new ways of delivering content/milking old content for even more money. I don't know how I feel about this sort of thing to be honest, though i will say that back when I was 10 years old and playing Super Mario World, if someone had told me that I could get 80 new levels of that game that were kinda of the same but just harder I would've been like 'OH YEAH THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND IT SHOULD NEVER STOP FROM GETTING BIGGER!' So yeah, if you really like NSMBU and wished that it didn't have to end then this is the game for you. This game takes place in an alternate reality where Luigi has killed his brother in a fit of jealousy. It's a simplistic take on the archetypal hostile brothers story (E.G: Cain/Abel, Set/Osiris, and now Luigi/Mario) but the story doesn't differ much from New Super Mario Bros U besides that. Princess Toadstool gets kidnapped and Luigi takes some mushrooms on a quest to go rescue her. Oh, and Luigi also has the aid of a mischievous rabbit for an unexplained reason. Yeah... standard nonsensical Mario story, but since it's been done like... I don't know... 16 times or so... you probably know what to expect. Eventually you will get an ending where you battle a turtle-ish dragon and save the princess and peace will return to the land, and that's really all you need in life. This video game belongs to the genre known as the 2-D PLATFORMER, which are typically played by advancing your character to the right and jumping over hazards and enemies. I hope you're already familiar with how platformers work because they are not especially well served by walkthroughs such as this. I will be providing a few details on basic Mario game elements in Section 2 but don't expect this guide to tell you the location of every enemy or platform in a level. Mostly this guide exists to provide information on the various COLLECTIBLES hidden throughout each level. These are actually optional objectives for the player but if you feel the need to collect them then I will be happy to help you out on that front. Also this guide contains information on SECRET LEVELS and other hidden goodies. So that about wraps up the introduction. If you have any questions, check to see if they are answered in the next section. If you need to know any basic info or terms for this game then check out section 2. Finally sections 3-11 are the actual walkthrough and there you will see that all of the levels are briefly described along with notes about how to find all of the secrets hidden in each level. I hope you enjoy reading this guide as much as I enjoyed writing it, and I wish you good luck in your playthrough of New Super Luigi U. -------------------------------- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [101] -------------------------------- a. What is New Super Luigi U? It's sort of a stand-alone game... but its sort of downloadable content for the game NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. U. You can either buy it on its own or as dlc. It's basically the game game as NSMBU but the levels are remixed, shorter, and more difficult. I don't know if it has enough value as its own game, especially since it costs $10 more as a disk. But if you think about it as DLC for an existing game, it is 80 new levels for $20, which means that every new level is costing you a quarter... and when I think about it like that I can't think of anything I'd rather spend a quarter on. b. What is 'Super Mario Bros?' Oh, really? You've never heard of 'Super Mario Bros.'? It's been around for a while and it's pretty popular and like... a part of western culture and is also synonymous with the whole concept of video gaming. You aren't going to ask me what video games are, are you? Well I guess it is possible that people haven't heard of Super Mario Bros. so here goes with the explanation: Super Mario Bros. is a Nintendo video game franchise that has spanned about a million titles over 25+ years. In these games you play as the brothers Mario and/or Luigi and you jump on enemies and over the gaps between platforms in order to reach level goals and progress through different environments on a quest to save a princess from an evil monster named Bowser. And that's it. c. Does this game have multiplayer? Yup. It's FIVE player local multiplayer, but the player using the GAMEPAD has a less fun game to play. d. What controllers does it use? It uses a wide range of the WiiU's control methods. There's the gamepad obviously but you're also free to play with wiimotes or wiiu pro controllers. But if you're playing multiplayer then the person playing with the gamepad has to do this stupid BOOST MODE thing where instead of having a character they just make blocks for people to jump on. I guess it's cool that there are five players but... bleh. e. How do i buy this game? You can buy a Digital copy of this game through the Nintendo eshop. It is $19.99 and requires some space on your WiiU's harddrive. Also you would have to own New Super Mario Bros. U to play it through that. You can also get this game on its own disk through your local video game retailer. The physical copy is 10 dollars more expensive. f. Do i need to have New Super Mario Bros. U to play this? You need to have NSMBU to play the DIGITAL version because it is DLC (DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT) so to play the digital version you have to have nsmbu and buy the dlc and then play nsmbu and then on your FILE SELECT SCREEN there will be a green button on the upper left hand side of your screen that says 'PLAY NEW SUPER LUIGI U IF YOU DARE'. If you've never played NSMBU you can still play the physical copy of this game and you're not really missing anything. g. How is this different from New Super Mario Bros. U? As you can probably tell from the title: mario has been removed from this game entirely for some reason. Luigi is front and center and also the game is little greener to highlight this. Luigi controls differently than Mario did in the old game. His controls are much looser but his jump is much higher/longer and the 80 new levels have been built to accommodate him. The levels are also much shorter than their NSMBU counterparts and they feature a 100second time limit and they are also more difficult. The game doesn't include the extra modes of NSMBU like the CHALLENGE MODE. Also this game includes a replacement character for Mario, a rabbit named nabbit. Nabbit has a unique playstyle that makes him immune to enemies and powerups. That's probably most of the changes. Basically it's the same thing though. h.How is it the same as New Super Mario Bros. U? Well the world map is the same and so is the story. The controls are pretty much the same and the multiplayer is still there. The graphics and designs and sounds and gameplay elements and enemies are all re-used even though they have been remixed. i. Is this game really difficult? No, not really. It's more difficult than NSMBU was but that game wasn't difficult to begin with so that is not saying much. This is no Super Mario Bros. 2, which was the gold-standard of difficult Mario games. This is a modern Mario game and thus is designed to be fun instead of frustrating. Games these days are designed to be beatable, bearable, and enjoyable, and while that is good design philosophy it also means that any 'challenge' is going to be offset by features that make the game more accessible. For instance, in this game 1ups and powerups are ubiquitous, and even if you do get a gameover your penalty is very light. This game also has a Super Mario World style map, which means that if you find a difficult level you always have the option of doubling back to an earlier level and stocking up a POWER-UPs that you can take to the level that is bothering you. Another reason why this game is not so difficult... well it's a multiplayer game, which by its nature increases your LIVES and your STOMPING POWER and ITEM-GATHERING ABILITY by the number of players involved. And another reason this game is easy is that there is this thing called BOOST MODE which lets you put down platforms wherever you bloody well feel like it, so obviously that makes some of those tricky jumps a lot more manageable. Also you can play as a character who is invulnerable to enemies... so there's that. j. Is this the best main Super Mario game ever? No. IMO the best games are Galaxy and World. I haven't played 3D World yet but I've heard good things. It's probably better than this I would imagine. k. Is this the best Wii u game ever? Well I don't know about 'ever' since the wii u is only 1 year old as of the time of writing (happy birthday inanimate object!) and well, i don't know, it's your call on what is 'good' and 'best'. Here's something about this game: it's a heck of a lot cheaper than any other first-party title, that's for darn sure. Nintendo games have a way of staying near MSRP forever, so if you are bargain hunter then this may be the Nintendo title for you. Then again, it is light on content and you can probably finish the whole thing in 5-10 hours, so beware about that. So... no, it's not the best WiiU game ever. l. Is Luigi rescuing Princess Daisy in this game? Is Rosalina in it? Etc. No. m. Why is Luigi the star? Why are there pictures of Luigi in the levels? I don't know why, but for some reason Nintendo marketed 2013 as their YEAR OF LUIGI and in an unsubtle display of BRAND PROMOTION they have included a HIDDEN LUIGI picture in every level of this game. The HIDDEN LUIGIS serve no gameplay purpose but if you delight in finding them then this guide can direct you to them. n. What qualifies you to write a guide on a Mario game? I am the best at Mario platformers and I've been besting them since before you were born and i will continue besting them long after everyone else in the world is sick of them and has moved on to FPSs or farmsims or whatever gaming fads the future holds. I was introduced to the concept of VIDEO GAMING through Super Mario Bros. and I had never seen anything so captivating in all of my life (I was 4 years old though). The first games I ever owned were Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars and you can be damn sure I DESTROYED those games. I'll never forget the day I beat SMB THE LOST LEVELS in one single glorious run of pure gaming perfection. That was the day that I learned that it didn't matter how many letters the game could use for extra levels or how many bowsers were in one level, because I could run and jump over anything that was being thrown at me with my MAD PLATFORMING SKILLZ. And don't get me started on how outrageous my COLLECTIONIST STATS are. I was finding all of the secret stars in all of the Mario games WAYYYY before the internet came along to handhold everyone through these games. Back then, if you wanted to know where to find some crazy obscure red coin then you had to pony up the dough for a PLAYER'S GUIDE... but really, pros like me never needed guides. Heck, I WRITE GUIDES. So you can trust me when I say that I'm the guy you want in your corner to give you all of the HOT TIPS and INSIDE SCOOPS to best all of these devious LEVELS and snatch all of the STAR COINS. I'm the guy. I'm the best. o. How do I read this guide? If you’re looking for tips for a certain level, check the table of contents to find what you’re looking for, and then get that bracketed number [xxx] and search for it [ctrl-f] to skip to that spot. The walkthrough will cover all of the levels and how to get the star coins you'll need to unlock the secret levels. Most of the actual gameplay in this game is straight-up platforming that depends on reflexes/timing/awareness instead of things walkthroughs can provide like knowledge or strategy or something like that, so maybe this guide won't prove very useful for anything other than simple star coin locations and tips. Oh well. I didn't get into the walkthrough writing game to help walk people through games anyways. If there is an important TERM or SYSTEM you need to know about that I'm just introducing I will probably CAPITALIZE it to draw it to your attention. =============================================================================== 2. GAME NOTES [200] =============================================================================== Here's a couple of notes about how things work in this game. I suspect that most players already know most of this stuff so I won't be very thorough. *MULTIPLAYER AND BOOST MODE* This game can be played in multiplayer using wiimotes and wiiprocontrollers but the gamepad is used for boost mode which sucks and can interfere with progression but it can also help you get star coins or get to the top of the flagpoles. You can also jump off of other characters and throw them but mostly you will just be getting in each other's way. This game has a time limit and is more difficult so there isn't a lot of time for screwing around or up. But then again having more players can help you just power through obstacles and maybe converse lives since slower players can just float around in a bubble and be brought back out whenever they are needed. Anyways, for most of this guide I will be describing the levels as if they were being played in single player and I will leave it to be understood that boost platforms can be employed at any point to help you get up and over obstacles or to get star coins. *100 SECOND TIME LIMIT* In this game you have only 100 seconds to finish every level. Don't worry though, all of the levels have been made shorter to accommodate this. Just try not to screw around as much as you would have in the other New Super Mario Bros games. You will get extra time for boss fights. *FLAGPOLES* If you finish the stage with two matching digits in your remaining time (E.G. 44, 33, 22, 11 seconds left) then you will get an item. If you get to the top of a flagpole by jumping well then you will get a 1up. Usually the jumps to get 1ups are hard but try to do them as you dash to the finish. If you mess up then just stand around for a few seconds to get the bonus item instead. *RED AND GREEN COINS AND RINGS* red green coins and rings red and green rings initiate a challenge to collect coins to get a powerup Green coins appear in small bunches and you have to collect one bunch to see where the next one is. Red coins aren't bunched up. *LUIGI'S SLIPPERY STYLE* To anyone used to playing Mario games it will be immediately apparent that Luigi controls slightly differently and that different also means worse. His controls are looser and he slips and slides instead of stopping like he should. This can make the tricky parts really tricky to traverse. But Luigi has one thing going for him in that he has a really big jump and he can hang in the air a little bit too. Most levels are built around these Luigi powers so make use of them. *PLAYING AS NABBIT* You don't have to play as Luigi, though. In multiplayer mode the other players will be playing as Toads or as the newish character Nabbit. Nabbit ignores enemies and can't use powerups, so he's pretty different. If you want to play as Nabbit in singleplayer mode, just press ZL before going into a level. *POWER UPS* In this game you can collect items that will power you up and let you use special moves until you take damage and the powerup goes away. Besides the powers they give you they are also nice because they let you take an extra hit or two before dying. Usually these can be obtained in the levels by hitting ?blocks or completing red/green coin challenges, but you can also obtain them by ending levels at the right time or on the world map through toad houses or other shenanigans. You have an inventory of items on the world map and you can power yourself up before going into levels. Here are descriptions of some of the powerups: Red Mushrooms: These makes you BIG which means that you can take an extra hit and you may have to duck under some low obstacles and it also means that you are heavy enough to break bricks with your GROUNDPOUND move. Green Mushrooms: Also known as 1ups because they give you extra LIVES. There is also a 3up moon item. Fireflowers: Give you the power to throw fire which can kill enemies. Useful in levels packed with foes and also good for underwater levels. Iceflowers: these let you throw ice around to freeze enemies which is sometimes useful kinda. Frozen enemies can be used as platforms or projectiles. Acorns: Grab these things to get a SQUIRREL COSTUME that lets you glide when you jump and also you get a mid-air jump move and also you can stick to walls. There is a P-WING version of this item that lets you fly more. Starguys: These make you invincible but don't last very long. Penguin Costume: This costume let's you slide through levels but also breaks bricks and kills foes in front of you. Propeller Mushroom: This is another flight suit so its kind of redundant with all of the acorns around. *YOSHIS* Yoshis are powerups too but they are much cuter and have personalities of sorts. The main Yoshi is the big green guy and he can be found in a couple of levels but he is usually hard to find. He can't leave the levels he is in. He has flutter jumps and can eat enemies though. There are also three kinds of baby yoshis which are mostly found in certain locations on the world map but they are in levels too. They have different powers and will eat enemies in front of them but be careful not to drop them. Oh yeah and you can carry them between levels. The blue one shoots out water bubbles that can kill enemies. The red/pink one is another flighty powerup but more baloony and it has a couple of uses. The yellow guy is for lighting up dark areas. Oh and they can't go into castles. *SHELLS* Shells are a special deal because they are an item you can use but only if a certain enemy called a KAPPA TRAPPA is in the level because you have to get this item from that enemy. The shells are good for killing lots of enemies in a row, but mostly when you see one you should pick and up and look around to see if there is a STAR COIN in a pit nearby because you can throw these things at them instead of jumping somewhere unsafe. *BLOCKS* There are a couple of types of blocks you should be made aware of. The blocks you want to see most are the ?blocks because they are the ones that commonly contain powerups. You can hit these from below or groundpound them from above. There are also INVISIBLE BLOCKS scattered around the game and commonly found near boss doors. *BOSSES* There are two broad categories of bosses in this game: the minimooks that you fight at the end of most TOWER levels, and the other boss battles which are usually against KAPPA KIDS at the end of CASTLES. Minimook is the boss of every tower and he doesn't change much between fights. He'll try some new move but you'll just jump on his head. Then he'll open his eyes, shake his head, and then try to get up, but you'll already be in the air and coming down on his noggin' for hit two. And then when he tries to get up again you'll already be delivering hit number 3 and that's enough to finish this guy for good... or, well... at least until the next tower anyway. The Kappa kids are pretty much the same as this except they all have their unique special power that changes things up a little bit. You shouldn't have any trouble hitting them three times either. Also, when you go into a boss's office you get an extra 100 seconds on your timer. *FAKE WALLS* Not all of the walls that you see in a level are real, but instead are a facade that has been built up by malicious people to keep you from seeing reality as it truly is, and to keep you from obtaining things that would be beneficial to you. Therefore you shouldn't trust your naive perception of things and instead test the truth of everything around you. *STAR COINS* There are 3 special coins to collect in every level. You can recognize them by their size and the big starguy on them. There is a counter in the top left corner of your screen that keeps track of the star coins in the level, and then out on the world map you can check your stats for every level. Usually these coins are hidden or otherwise difficult to get, but not always. You need to get these coins to unlock the secret levels in the secret world. Each level in the secret world is locked until you get all of the star coins from the world that corresponds to that level. The best part about getting these coins is that you don't have to get them all in one run through a level, so if one of them is hard to get and takes up a lot of your limited time then you can hurry to the end of the level and then your having obtained that coin will be saved forever after. *SECRET EXITS* There are secret exits in some levels. Usually there is one secret exit per world but not necessarily. I will point these out in my walkthrough if you want to be spoiled about where they are. These secret exits unlock secret levels which usually function as shortcuts, and they also have more star coins for you to get to unlock the levels in the secret world. So mostly getting these secret exits during your first playthrough acts sort of like warpzones to let you skip whole worlds. The first secret level in Acorn Plains lets you skip all the way to Soda Jungle, for instance. Some of the other shortcuts are substantial too, but the secrets are usually well hidden enough that you won't stumble across them on your first playthrough and instead you'll probably come back to look for them because you need star coins to unlock the levels in the secret world. *THE SECRET WORLD: SUPERSTAR ROAD* This world is unlocked after you complete the story by beating Bowser at the end of Peach's Castle. It doesn't matter how many levels or worlds you skip to get there because this world will still be unlocked after that level. But unfortunately each level in this world is locked until you get all of the star coins from the world that corresponds to a level... so you can't do the first level in Superstar Road until you get all of the star coins in all of the levels in Acorn Plains, for instance. It's going to take a lot of collecting and backtracking in order to unlock these extra levels. *SAVE FILE STARS* You can get up to five stars on your save file. They are a little indication that you have completed certain tasks in this game. I guess they are like achievements then. You get a star for completing each of the following feats: 1. Completing the story by finishing Peach's Castle. 2. Completing all of the levels up through Peach's Castle. 3. Collecting all of the Star Coins up through Peach's Castle. 4. Completing all of the levels. 5. Catching nabbit in seven worlds. *HIDDEN LUIGIS* There is a representation of Luigi hidden in every level of this game. Usually it is a PIXELATED LUIGI celebrating his 8bit origins, but sometimes his image is incorporated into the level design. Sometimes they are cleverly hidden, sometimes they are obscenely obvious. In any case, finding these secret things unlocks nothing extra in the game (unlike how finding star coins opens up extra levels) but if you enjoy finding all of the secrets in a game (but don't like finding them yourself) then you'll be happy to know that this guide points out all of the HIDDEN LUIGIS. *MIIVERSE* You can post to Miiverse from this game, and view the posts that others have made. If you'd like to opt out of this feature, there is probably a way to do just that. *WORLD MAP* The world map is the colorful area you will be traversing between levels. It is the same map as the one from New Super Mario Bros. U. It has a lot of different features, including several methods for obtaining extra items. Sometimes you may even find yourself battling enemies through the world map. The map is divided into several WORLDS and each world houses various levels and secrets. Usually worlds have a TOWER and a CASTLE that function as BOSS levels and beating these levels also lets you SAVE your game. Also at the start of each world is a WARPIPE you can use to travel between worlds more quickly. One last thing that is important on world maps is this little guy called NABBIT and he is a character who appears on the map sometimes and challenges you to a special run through a level where you try to catch him. =============================================================================== 3. WALKTHROUGH - ACORN PLAINS [300] =============================================================================== Hey congratulations on starting the game. Now that you've purchased this add-on for NSMBU I bet you're pretty excited to be right back on the same world map and going to all of the same levels as before. I won't go over the map in great detail because I assume that you know how it works and where things are from the original game. It's still a hilly green place with a couple of stone buildings and things scattered about the landscape. You probably know the drill. But then again maybe you purchased this game as a stand-alone disc and you've never played New Super Mario Bros U and you have no idea how anything works? I guess I could go over the world map a little in that case. When you start the game and watch the opening cutscenes you'll see that Luigi and a couple of Mushroom Men get thrown from Peach's Castle and end up in a green area and that it is called ACORN PLAINS. There are a number of LEVELS or STAGES here for you to complete to advance to the next WORLD and a number of worlds to complete before BEATING the game. At the start of each world is a WARP PIPE you can use to quickly travel between worlds but you have to unlock the other worlds before traveling there. Your progression through this world will be to complete levels 1 and 2. Then you'll open up a RED MUSHROOM HUT where you can get an item. The next level is a TOWER level which are levels with MINIBOSS BATTLES at the end. Then you'll have a choice of which level to do before going to the CASTLE at the end of the world. You can do both of course. On one side you'll have the option of going to a GREEN MUSHROOM HUT to play a minigame and fight an enemy for items, and on the other side you'll have access to a RED BABY YOSHI you can bring into levels but not castles. And one last thing you should know is that saving only really happens after castles and towers. And one other final thing you should know about this world map (and all other world maps) is that one of the levels in every world has a SECRET EXIT that will open up that world's SECRET LEVEL. If you don't find the secret exit then you won't be going to the secret level and you can just skip that level of my walkthrough. In this case, the secret exit is in LEVEL 2 - CROOKED CAVERN. If you need any help on any of the levels then you can read my sick tips under the level names. I'll help you find all of the star coins, which you'll need later if you want to go to the SUPERSECRET WORLD; and the hidden luigis, which are completely useless. ------------------------- WADDLEWING WARNING! [301] ------------------------- This first level of the game is a good indication of how much more difficult this game is compared to NSMBU. Do you remember the original iteration of this level and how lackadaisical it was? Those little squirrel enemies were all over the place, but they mostly just existed to give you powerups and show you how to fly. This time around it's... well it's pretty much the same. When the level starts you'll see a big 'New Super Luigi U' banner. It's the first of many Luigi icons scattered throughout the game. It's kind of funny to see but don't spend undue amounts of time looking at it. You're on the clock! For anyone who has never played a mario game or any other 2D platformer: your objective is to move your guy to the RIGHT until he reaches the END of the LEVEL. The first ?BLOCK you see has a MUSHROOM inside but it's not terribly necessary to grab since there will be a flying squirrel coming by to give you an ACRON POWERUP to give you flight powers (and wall grabbing powers, and that boost jump thing it does too. Check out the 'Game Mechanics' section if you want to learn about powerups, or just watch the squirrels in this level because they'll show you what they can do). This is a good level to come back to to get acorn powerups which you may need later on for trickier platforming sections. *STAR COINS* 1. Just past the first ?block there are three tilted platforms that move up and down. The coin is on the top one. Sometimes it will move down where it can be easily grabbed. You can just run and jump to it from the preceding platform. I have a feeling that this walkthrough is going to be using the word 'platform' a lot >.< 2. The next coin is trickier to get because it is BELOW a platform. You'll either have to jump on the squirrel that flies by down there OR use the squirrel suit gust boost power to launch yourself back up to the platform. Either way you'll have to time it well because the platform moves up and down, and you'll probably want to be moving right to left because the left side of the platform is lower. 3. When you move on from the area the last SC was you'll see a trail of coins in the sky that just beg you to follow their path with the squirrel costume's glide. If you do so then you will come up against a formation of flying squirrels and you will bounce off of one of them up into the third Star Coin. If you miss the bounce off of the enemy then just use your squirrel boost. *HIDDEN LUIGI* Not so hidden this time. It's in the banner at the beginning of the level. -------------------- CROOKED CAVERN [302] -------------------- This level starts aboveground but then you enter a pipe into a cavern that is crooked. Soon you'll be experiencing a bad case of seasickness as the world around constantly heaves back and forth and everything moves too and fro around you. You may have to wait a few cycles before you can get around to getting to anything in particular. *STAR COINS* 1. You have to get this one before going underground. It's behind a fake wall to the left of the warp pipe going down to the level. 2. There's a star coin under some bricks between two platforms. The bricks are laid out in a familiar pattern that suggests they can be demolished by a SHELL, and as it happens there is a KAAPA walking around nearby. Launch his shell at the bricks to clear a path and eventually it will pick up the coin for you. 3. This is at the end of the section and you'll need to bring your squirrel costume here so you can ignore the pipe leading out and instead jump right into the abyss and glide down to this coin. And hey, while you're down there, there's an even secret-er thing to look for! *HIDDEN LUIGI* Just before the flagpole there are some bricks. Break them. *SECRET EXIT* This is in the area with the third star coin. There will be a sign there with an arrow on. Well, it turns out that you can totally groundpound that spot to get to a secret exit that takes you to the secret level for this world! ---------------------- FLAME-GEAR TOWER [303] ---------------------- Just like all of the previous levels this one lets you get a mushroom immediately. Your challenge this time is scaling a vertical level where the platforms rotate and fire shoots out of them periodically. Keep you eyes open for where the fire thingies are and pay attention to when they're going to be firing because they have obvious tells. There are lots of power ups around to replenish your hitpoints if you take damage. There are also lots of DRY BONES around and they are basically just kaapas that don't die so try your best to ignore them. At the top of the tower you'll have your first encounter with MINIMOOK. You'll be seeing him a lot as he is the boss of almost every tower level. He'll run at you and try to beat you to death but it's not terribly difficult to jump over him with your mighty leapin' legs. He bounces off of walls to change direction kind of fast I guess. If you have really good timing you can jump on him just as he gets up from your last hit and keep him locked down until he is dead. 3 hits is all it takes. *STAR COINS* 1. Just to the right of the start of the level if you go over the big cog there. Watch out for the fire-spewing fixture above the coin and use your WALLJUMP to avoid falling into the PIT below the coin. 2. Just a little ways up on the second cog you will see this coin is perfectly visible but that it is periodically being showered in flames. Pay attention to the flamer's cycle and hop in and out when it is safe. 3. On the right side of the level there is a platform with a BONE DRY walking on it. Above this platform are some INVISIBLE BLOCKS you can find by jumping around in the center of the platform. Walljump onto them and then jump again to find an invisible ?block that is in between some flamejets. Jump up there when it is safe for another star thing. *HIDDEN LUIGI* Behind one of the cogs near the end of the level. ------------------------- ROLLING YOSHI HILLS [304] ------------------------- The hills here roll with some speed. Try not to get swept to your doom. Also look out for the ubiquitous GARY GOPHERS who pop out of walls and dog all of your actions. A little ways into the level and past the first star coin there will be two ?blocks and one of them has a YOSHI EGG inside. Yoshi is fun to ride on and he can eat enemies. *STAR COINS* 1. Use the first KAAPA you see to launch a SHELL down into that chasm with the star coin in it. It's right where the level switches from outdoors to a little cave. 2. Just past where you get yoshi there is a coin above 4 snappy P-PLANTS. Yoshi can jump over these guys or eat them or whatever you need. If you lost your yoshi due to bad playing then you'll need to just go a little ways past them to pick up and bring back a POW BLOCK. 3. This one is above the flagpole and you just need to have yoshi run and flutter at it. *HIDDEN LUIGI* One of the background hills above some rolling gopher hills has a luigi shadow on it. After completing this level you can go right on the world map to pick up a PINK BABY YOSHI, if that's your thing. He'll help you fly over the next level. --------------------- PIRANHA HEIGHTS [305] --------------------- This is the kind of level you're gonna want to just fly over if you can. The platforms are covered in man-eating plants! Momma mia! And the platforms are moving like they're possessed! *STAR COINS* 1. Look for some pipes hanging in the sky in an upsidedown T shape. There's some platforms after that with a star coin on them. 2. The second coin is above a green pipe. The platform you'll need to jump on to get up there has a piranha plant on it, so you'll have to find some way to remove him from existence before you can get up there. There is a powerup block not too far back before this that will give you an ice flower to turn these plants into icy platforms. 3. You've got to walljump up on top of some pipes to get to a warp pipe that takes you to an area with the 3rd star coin and a hidden luigi. *HIDDEN LUIGI* Is in the area with the 3rd SC. --------------------- PIRANHA GARDENS [306] --------------------- This level starts off with a couple of jerky MALLET HUCKERS in your path to try and pelt you with their slow moving projectiles. They're not as tough as their SMB counterparts but they can still tick you off if you're not deft and deadly. This level has lots of platforms that rise and fall out of the ground so be aware of how they move around and change up the landscape. *STAR COINS* 1. This is behind a fake wall. Look for a MINI PIPE in the ground and then find a way to the left side of the ground its in. 2. This coin is guarded by a mallet hucker but he is not nearly as mobile as he should be on those platforms so you can probably get below him and take him out no problem because I believe in you. 3. Near the end of the level there is a giant p-plant sticking off of the ceiling and there is a platform above him with a coin. *HIDDEN LUIGI* Just after the second star coin is a bushy Luigi. ------------------------------- LEMMY'S LIGHTS-OUT CASTLE [307] ------------------------------- This castle plays with light and darkness to try and goad you into screwin' up and dying hardcore to the max. So not rad. Anyways just be careful like you would when you're crossing a street or riding your bicycle. There's a powerup in the first block you find but annoyingly it moves with the light so it can be tricky to hit. This level is also going to involve a lot of timing your jumps onto swinging platforms. You have to anticipate where the platforms are going to be and when the best time to jump is. It's all about having the spot you want to land on being close to you and lower than you when you come in to land on it. You'll also want to use the PSWITCH dealie to get to the end of the level and the door to the boss. Most boss doors have an invisible powerup block nearby so if you need a boost just run to wall on the right and jump. And hey, there's a luigi sprite for you to check out up there, too! Your boss fight this time around is Lemmy Kappa, aka the insane one. He spins around in his shell and tries to hit you, but you can jump over it no prob. Sometimes he'll try to throw a crazy bomb at you but don't let him scare you. Your mighty boots are more than a match for his squishy head. Stomp him! Stomp him hard! *STAR COINS* 1. When you hop onto your first swinging platform there will be a smaller platform swinging above it but out of sync so just time the jump right to get up there. You can hop off of the bone dry for more unreal air. 2. This one is below a friggin swinging platform. You may have to go grab a squirrel suit from the red coin challenge to get this one. 3. When you're running over those little black thingies there will be a gap between some of them with a warp pipe that takes you to this coin. *HIDDEN LUIGI* In the wall next to the boss's door. ----------------------- CHEEP CHOMP CHASE [308] ----------------------- This is the secret level for this world and you don't have to come here to get to the next world. You won't even see this level if you didn't find the secret exit back in level 2. This level is way out in the ocean and you'll have to go underwater and deal with a lot of currents and big fish and things. *STAR COINS* 1. Head left when you get underwater. 2. Look for some rotating pipes in a cross shape and then look up for a gap in the ceiling pipes until a star coin comes down. 3. Swim up to where the second star coin was to get to a secret area and use the POW block to bring down the money. *HIDDEN LUIGI* Above the red coin circle there is a luigi swimming with the fishes. =============================================================================== 4. WALKTHROUGH - LAYER CAKE DESERT [400] =============================================================================== Welcome to orange-ish brown world. Everything here has a reddish tint to it that makes it look kinda funky. Also the name 'layer-cake desert' just seems pretty wierd if you ask me. I think the developers of this world were trying too hard to make the landmass here look like an actual desert. I mean, in Super Mario World, the levels didn't need to go all-out to make sure that we 'got' that the second world was doughnut shaped, or that the bridges were made of cheese or whatever. It didn't matter and names were just stupid names. I guess I'm rambling. Here's some directions and coin locations and tips and things. After the first level you will be introduced to NABBIT after he robs a MUSHROOM MAN of some items. You can take the nearby WARP PIPE to go chase after Nabbit in Acorn Plains. Nabbit goes into levels and makes you speed through them in a chase because all mario games have to have rabbit chasing since SM64 did it. Anyways back in Layer Cake Desert there is a red mushroom hut after level 1 and you also get a choice of which level to tackle next before going to the tower. Then you'll be on a strange griddy thing where you might get into a fight with some overworld enemies and there is a green mushroom hut to go to before the last couple of levels and the castle. And after this world you have a choice to either go up to the snow world or down to the water world, whichever you want. The level with a secret exit in this world is level 4 - The Walls Have Eyes
and I think it takes you up to the snow world a little early.

-----------------------------
SPIKE'S TUMBLING DESERT [401]
-----------------------------

Welcome to the land of fossils and green guys who like to throw spiky balls
at you. I don't know the official terminology for them so I'll just call them
YUPPIES. Your best bet for taking them out is to hit them from below the
bricks they stand on, but you can bop them on the head whenever they drop their
guard. Those spikeballs will stick around on the ground for a while so be
careful and try to get to higher ground or something. If you are really devious
you can trick these guys into taking out each other. Getting projectile hurling
enemies to kill each other is going to become more and more important as this
game fills each level with more and more enemies.

*STAR COINS*

1. The first coin is right above the first yuppie in the level. Take him out
from underneath and then hop on up to his platform to get the coin. The
platform will be moving up and down for you to get on.

2. This coin is behind one of those fake wall things.. There is a little ledge
above it as a subtle but standard clue that this wall is hiding an invisble
area you can run around in.

3. At one point you will come across a Pswitch that will turn a couple of rows
of coins into platforms over this one long expanse of quicksand. So yeah jump
up on the temporary bricks to get up to the yippie at the top and the coin he
is guarding. Be careful because he will throw spiky things onto your new
platforms.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Just before the Pswitch there is a luigi fossil in the sand.

-------------------------
UNDERGROUND GRRROLS [402]
-------------------------

This level is an underground temple place and it is just filled with these
horrible stoned spiky wheel things that roll along and drop out of the sky to
try and crush you. They're called Grrrols but that is a terrible name. Also
those pesky cactus guys will be standing around trying to keep you from
getting anywhere. You know the cactus guys from previous mario games, right?
They're called PICKYS and if you thought they were a hassle to jump over wait
until you see how annoying they are when they are hanging from the ceiling.
You'll need to keep some powerups on hand so you can fireball them/eat them/
jump through them and just take the damage so you can finish the level in time.

*STAR COINS*

1. When you get underground let the Grrrol (awful name) take out the picky
to the left and then go down to that platform to make the coin appear.

2. Get to the part where there is a Pswitch on the ceiling and then run into
the next part which is one of those places where the ceiling rises and falls
to try and crush you if you don't run fast enough (but since this game is timed
you should always be running anyways). In the middle of this section is a star
coin you can jump to if you are running fast. Just run and react when you see
it. Trust your instincts! If your instincts fail you then you can stop below
coin because it is a safe area (you may need to duck though).

3. This one is easy to spot. It's at the end of the underground part of the
level, just beyond the warp pipe out of there. You'll have to get around a
really big frag to get the coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* If you bring a P-WING to this level you'll be able to fly over
the whole level and if you do you'll see a pixeluigi in the sand.

--------------------------
PIRANHAS IN THE DARK [403]
--------------------------

Another underground level, but this time it is dark. You'll have lots of
powerups around like FIREFLOWERS and YELLOW BABY YOSHIS to light up a path for
you though. Yoshi has a special power to light up the immediate area, but
fireballs can light up things that are far away. Heck, even your enemies will
be throwing fireballs to help you see in here.

*STAR COINS*

1. Right as soon as you go underground you will have to jump over a piranha
plant and this coin is right above him. It's gonna be a daring leap (unless
you brought the STAR from the hidden block aboveground).

2. At the end of the first section of piranhas there is another coin but this
time it is below a piranha plant so that's even more difficult. You'll have
to take that big sucker out with some kind of starry powerup or just run
through him to get the coin.

3. The third coin is aboveground and right before the flagpole. You have to
take a different pipe out of the underground section to get up there, but this
pipe has a p-plant in it you'll have to kill with fire.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This luigi is behind the p-plant guarding the pipe to the
3rd star coin.

-------------------
WIND-UP TOWER [404]
-------------------

The 'wind-up' part of the name is in reference to the SCREWS through this
tower that you will have to 'wind-up' with your SPIN MOVE to make things happen
that will advance you through the level. Remember to wind-up these screws as
far as they'll go so you have more time to climb up the platforms, but then
take your jumps at a measured pace because the platforms will be moving and you
don't want to waste a lot of time falling/doing it again or worse getting
crushed by the mechanisms. Other than that this level is characterized by the
bone-dries everywhere and the ice flower you'll get to freeze them with. You
can use frozen enemies as platforms or turn them into projectiles.

At the end of the level is that moob guy and he is just as easy as before so
remember to jump on him.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is part of the first screw and it's connected platforms. Spinning
the first screw moves the platform that covers this coin but only briefly and
its pretty far away so you'll have to hurry.

2. Part of the second screw system. Three blocks will move out from the walls
and the coin is on the right side of the screen.

3. Part of the third and final screw system, naturally. It's near the end and
it's hard to miss. There's a Pixeluigi just before it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* just before the 3rd star coin.

-------------------------
THE WALLS HAVE EYES [405]
-------------------------

In this desert level you get to jump all over those big stone faces as they
wobble around somehow. They're always watching you. You'll have to jump
around these guys and a buncha muncha p-plants to get around, but at least
there aren't any flying squirrels around to hit you mid-jump OH WAIT THERE
TOTALLY ARE.

*STAR COINS*

1. In that sort of cavey area with a bunch of faces alternating on the ground
and ceiling there is a coin behind one of the grounded faces. You can
groundpound him outta the way.

2. Look for two palm trees sticking up from stonefaces. There will be a third
stone face between them with no palm tree. You've gotta groundpound him and
then jump off him to reveal an invisible block with a BEANSTALK in it that
takes you up to the coin.

3. This one is between some faces that come of a pit and you'll probably have
to walljump between them when they extend themselves. It's a tricky situation
but it's definitely doable.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* You have to go through a minipipe to get to a secret area with
this luigi in it. I don't think there is a minishroom here though so bring
one from home.

*SECRET EXIT* Just after the area leading to the 2nd coin and right before
a minipipe there is a nondescript platform that you can groundpound through
to get to a secret exit.

---------------------------
STONE SPIKE CONVEYORS [406]
---------------------------

You can tell from the uptempo music and the railed platform that this level is
going to be a frenzied and messy rush. Well it's not really as fast as you
might think. Sure the platforms are moving but mostly the game is trying to
distract you from all of the yuppies periodically hurling stones at you. They
are on a pretty fixed pattern though so you should totally be able to read
them. Try to hold on to any kappa shells you come across so you can throw them
at many enemies. Also you can try to play the level by avoiding the railed
platforms altogether and just jump from yuppie to yuppie, moreorless.

*STAR COINS*

1. Super easy coin to spot right from the beginning. You'll have to bop a
yippie to get it so just be careful of the timing there.

2. There's a yippie on a big red mushroom with a star coin above his head,
which incidentally makes a great launching pad.

3. You just need to ride the final railed platform off of the rails to get
this coin. It's not a big deal at all.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* There is a pixeluigi on a stone surface towards the end of the
level. it's well above the screen and a lot of enemies though so you'll have to
be jumpingon or above them to see it.

-------------------------
SPINNING SANDSTONES [407]
-------------------------

This one is like the 'rolling hills' level from world one except that... well
now its all yellow instead of green. Also they are faster hills and they
propel you in different directions to really mess with your momentum. There
also lots of enemies and tricky sandstream you have to jump on, and that old
mario standby CLOUDGUY shows up the end of the level to try and pelt you
with TURTLE EGGS.

*STAR COINS*

1. Some piranha plants are going to be blowing green spikey balls into the air
sometimes, and sometimes a star coin is going to be between them and their
spiky things. Well, it's a narrow gap but it's definitely possible to jump
through it. Just because luigi CAN jump super high doesn't mean that he MUST
jump super high.

2. When you're jumping across some sand geysers in front of a wall there will
be a square cut out of the wall above a geyser. there is a hidden block there
with a beanstalk to climb to a secret area.

3. After cloudguy comes and goes and you get a fireflower from some red coins
you can kill a giant p-plant to get to a wall that turns out to be fake and
hiding this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* this time its not a pixeluigi but instead one of the face
platforms has a luigi mustache.

--------------------------------
MORTON'S LAVA BLOCK CASTLE [408]
--------------------------------

Yup, you're in a lava level already. Lava levels are just like regular levels
except that when you fall, you don't die from a bottomless pit, you die from
falling in hot magma. Totally different.

You're going to be on some moving platforms that aren't going to be above the
lava very long so get your run on. You can run over those little gaps you know.

Morton is a pretty unique boss fight. He has this hammer and he summons a giant
picky and then bats the picky sections at you. Eventually you'll be able to
jump over the shorten picky and bop Morton's noggin.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is encased in some blocks over the lava. Getting to it from below
is much harder so just do a careful ground pound.

2. This coin is mostly in the lava so you're gonna have to jump away at the
very last second to escape the DANGER ZONE!!!

3. You can check this one out above the door to Morton's office. You'll have
to take a running jump off of the preceding platforms to reach this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* this luigi is dead in the lava

---------------------------
SLIPPERY ROPE LADDERS [409]
---------------------------

This secret level is accessible from level 4 and its a snow level for some
reason. It's a level full of p-plants and rope ladders.

*STAR COINS*

1. On the side of a cliff over a pit so do some walljumpin.

2. When you're climbing up some rope ladders next to a wall of pipe-plants
you can jump to another ladder to get to this coin.

3. At the end of the vertical section there are some fire huckers guarding
this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This is with the third coin

===============================================================================
5. WALKTHROUGH - SPARKLING WATERS [500]
===============================================================================

This world is a water world, which means that it looks really pretty but
sometimes you'll have to swim and that can hurt your mobility which is kind
of unfortunate.

There's a green mushroom hut for you after level 2 and then a tower and then
a sunken ghost ship. After that you'll be able to pick where you go if you can
avoid some fish. Also you can pick up a red baby yoshi. There is also a red
mushroom hut before the castle.

-------------------------
HUCKIT BEACH RESORT [501]
-------------------------
This level takes place on some docks with water providing some additional
platforms. A lot of those huts on the docks can be run through and have secrets
inside, like for instance the starguy inside the hut to the left of your
starting position. You can use it to run down the rock-throwing shellmen that
have infested these docks. You have to be careful with these guys because the
rocks that they throw can be hidden behind water and huts.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is inside one of the first huts you come across. You can run
through the hut to reveal what is inside.

2. Go to the middle part of a big bunch of water streams that gush up over the
dock and are also covered with a lot of rock-throwing shellmen. When the water
stops momentarily it will reveal a warp pipe you can take to a secret room
with a pixeluigi and a star coin.

3. You've gotta groundpound through some bricks to get down to this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* In the secret room with Star Coin #2.

----------------------
URCHIN REEF ROMP [502]
----------------------

You'll be heading under the sea for this level, and just like in the old mario
games you're going to be constantly endangered by strong water currents. It's
tricky to move properly through these waters and avoid the enemies but go
ahead and do just that by mashing the SWIM button rapidly.

*STAR COINS*

1. You get this star coin before you even go underwater. Run past the pipe and
the wall will turn out to be fake and you can walljump up to the coin.

2. This coin is at the bottom of a pit that also has a water current trying to
suck you down. You're gonna have to mash your button really hard to overcome
the sucking.

3. The third coin is hidden below a wall of spiky purpuffs and if you didn't
get a fireflower then you'll just have to take a hit to get through them or
come back later with more powerups.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Right before you swim between a bunch of big purpuffs.

-----------------------
SHISH-KEBAB TOWER[503]
-----------------------

Welcome to a tower full of those crushy thingies that like to kill mario
brothers. They'll come at you right from the start of the level so be quick
about moving but not so quick that you don't pay attention to their movements.
Only move when it's safe. Then jump up past some fire huckers and onto an
obsure platform that will carry you up. Then you'll be in a room that is just
packed with the fiendish thingies but if you look ahead you'll see safe areas
you can go to. Then you'll be vaulted up another shaft (past a pixeluigi) and
then its just one more small area to get to moobmoob and he's the same miniboss
as ever.

*STAR COINS*

1. Just past the fire huckers there is a platform that carries you up through
a long shaft. You want to duck off to the right of the shaft and through an
invisible wall to get to this starcoin, and then walljump up the rest of the
shaft.

2. This one is in that room that's packed with the mean things and it's above
a safe spot. There is a spiked thing that comes out to hit you if you go for
the star coin so look out for that one in addition to all of the other ones.

3. Just past the pixeluigi you'll be able to see this coin but to get to it
you'll have to come down from above, which means running TOWARDS one of those
spike things as it retreats into the wall and then ground pounding quickly and
then doubling back around the area again. Big hassle, and oh yeah, you'll
have to get this far as big luigi to smash those bricks.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the right of the second elevator shaft.

------------------------
HAUNTED CARGO HOLD [504]
------------------------

Haunted always means bad. There are ghosts all about this level and they trace
out confusing paths and that can be annoying. And the rest of the level is a
mixture of spinning platforms, pole-jumping, and swimming... so three bad
things.

*STAR COINS*

1. When you go down into the ship you'll find three spinning boxes and this
coin is above the third and quickest spinning one.

2. This coin is in the water under the second set of spiny boxes. And the coin
is moving around real fast and also the water is guarded by territorially
aggressive fish. If you get the red coins above you'll also get a fireflower
to deal with the mean fishes.

3. And this one is above the middle block in a third set of spiny boxes.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* When you get into the ship you can hop into the water to check
this guy out.

*SECRET EXIT* Wouldn't be much of a ghost house without a secret exit. When
you get to the pipe to the regular exit you should jump in the water and swim
down to the underwater pipe before the fish mob you.

------------------------
WATERSPROUT SPRINT [505]
------------------------

This time the gushing water you have to run on won't exist for very long so
you have to book it, which is an expression for running fast all of the time.
But hey, the platforms are made of water and as long as they do exist you can
swim up them if you ever fall short.

*STAR COINS*

1. There's a big p-plant guarding this coin so you need to find someway of
defeating him. There's a kappa shell a little ways past that you can bring back
to kill it and get the coin.

2. The next coin is only behind a small p-plant but there is another kappa
shell you can hurl at it.

3. The final coin is above some p-plants so you only have to jump over them to
get at it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Below the waterspouts with the red coin ring.

-----------------------
THE GREAT GEYSERS [506]
-----------------------

This one involves running atop gushing water and avoiding all of the myriad of
enemies there. Or you can get your hands on a PENGUIN OUTFIT and slide the
enemies to death.

*STAR COINS*

1. You'll see this one in a geyser and probably have to wait a tic to get to
it.

2. This coin is up on top of a palm tree with a kappa so just ride the
geyser up there or just jump off of some flighty fishies.

3. This one is between some p-plants and the balls they blow up in the air, so
you'll have you jump between them somehow or wait for them to catch their
breath.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Left of the start of the level.

----------------------
DRAGONEEL DEPTHS [507]
----------------------

It's a dragoneel! There's a big red dragoneel in the water to spur you along.
It moves circuitously so you may be able to duck in behind where its going and
make it have to loop around a couple times to get back after you. And then...
just when you think you're safe... MULTIPLE DRAGONEELS!

*STAR COINS*

1. When you get underwater and start going up there will be too spiky purpuffs
on a ledge on the right side of the screen guarding a star coin. You maybe
trick the dragoneel into killing them for you or find some other method.

2. The next coin is near the last one and in the middle of some moving
platforms.

3. This one is tricky because you have to take a different pipe out of the
water to get to it. At the top of the water part of the level head left and
get the dragoneel to kill the purpuff there and open up this warpipe.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* on the path to the third star coin.

----------------------------------
LARRY'S TRIGGER-HAPPY CASTLE [508]
----------------------------------

There's a big bullet tim coming at you from the left of the level and he'll
be chasing you for a while. Then you'll be going underwater with a bunch of
HOMING TORPEDONS who will be dogging your every move. And then you'll go back
aboveground and meet an even bigger bullet tim. You should run away from it.

Then you'll be fighting Larry and it's a pretty tame fight since his power is
pretty much just to make water gush up and add some levels to jump on, and also
he shoots slow moving things at you.

In the first area there is a red coin challenge that gives you a penguin suit.
If you get the slide going all the way to the end of this area you can crash
through the brick wall and skip the underwater section entirely.

*STAR COINS*

1. the first coin is above the first bit of water and you'll have to jump off
of the bullet tim cannons to get up there.

2. When you get underwater there will be some bricks you can hit from below to
reveal a Pswitch and if you go up there with big luigi you can hit the switch
and turn the bricks around the star coin into coins.

3. You just need to jump to this coin no biggie. It's in the area leading up
to the boss door.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* in the underwater section and behind some blocks you can Pswitch
away

------------------------
A BEANSTALK JUNGLE [509]
------------------------

This secret level is accessed from the ghost ship. The platforms here come out
of a slowly growing beanstalk. And there's a yoshi yay! Or maybe you would
rather ride cloudguys cloud or use a squirrel outfit to fly around? Lots of
fun however to choose to proceed.

*STAR COINS*

1. I would recommend taking a cloud down to this thing.

2. You'll see this coin on the right side of the level just past a red pipe
but don't jump over there under a leaf platform grows under it.

3. Instead of going up through the red pipe you can jump through a fake ceiling
a little to the left to get this coin and a buncha 1ups.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* With the second coin.

===============================================================================
6. WALKTHROUGH - FROSTED GLACIER [600]
===============================================================================

This is the snow world. It's really pretty but it is also really slippery,
which sort of compounds the problem of luigi's preexisting slipperiness. Try
to think of your lack of control as 'fun' or even 'thrilling' and you'll have
a better time that way.

Now this might be your world 3 if this is the path you chose to take. It's
totally up to you which way you wanna go after the desert world. Don't let my
conceptual scheme here prejudice you against going to this world before the
water world if that is what you want to do.

The map is pretty straightforward. There is a blue baby yoshi after the first
level, a green mushroom house after the third level, and a red mushroom house
after the fifth level. There are penguin enemies you can fight in three places
and they're never difficult fights.

-------------------------
BOOZERS AND BARRELS [601]
-------------------------

This level has you climbing upwards so I guess the slippery ice shouldn't be
much of a problem. All of the enemies here WILL be problems though. There are
a lot of them and their all super mean. As the level title suggests these guys
are called BOOZERS and I guess all of those barrels strewn about are full of
booze and it's up to you to crash this party violently. Make like Donkey Kong
and take out your foes with the barrels, and if you don't then they have no
qualms about sending those barrels your way. These boozers are tough and mean
guys and it'll take a few jumps to kill them without barrels, but you may also
get lucky and have some piranha plants freeze them for you.

*STAR COINS*

1. The first coin is pretty easy to spot and its only a little ways out of the
way of your steady climb.

2. This one is behind a box and you'll need to have a boozer bust it down for
you.

3. When you get to the top of your climb there will be one boozer up there
trying to pelt you with stuff. You'll have to get a high jump off of his head
to get up to the coin way up in the air.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* finish the level with repeating digits in your time counter
(eg 44, 33) to get an item and check out a luigish snowluigi.

----------------------
COOLIGAN SHROOMS [602]
----------------------

I don't understand the name of this level because I'm guess I'm not up on the
current slang or whatever. Anyways this level is full of penguins that will be
constantly sliding towards you and they can be a real menace. If you grabbed
the baby blue yoshi before this level then it can eat these guys for you if
you're on level ground and facing the right way. Otherwise prepare to get your
multienemy jump on. You can also get an ice flower to help. This level involves
platforming on some slippery platforms that also tilt depending on weight
distribution so you'll need to consider how your enemies will be effecting
your platforming environment.

*STAR COINS*

1. Pretty easy one to find and get. Just jump towards it. Maybe you'll have to
get the platform tilting the right way and watch out for penguins, or maybe
you'll just get it without a problem.

2. This coin is in a valley filled with penguins so be careful about jumping
in there with all of those things, especially since more will be coming out of
the pipe above the coin periodically and will be going in different directions
depending on the orientation of the tilty platform.

3. Just after the area with the 2nd coin you'll see 4 bricksblocks and the
start of a long trail of coins. Well believe it or not but you can freeze
a penguin and ride its frozen carcass all the way to the star coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the way to the third star coin.

------------------
ICICLE TOWER [603]
------------------

At the beginning of this level you will be given a short demonstration of the
power of falling icicles. Take it to heart and watch out for the drops of
water that warn you of overhead ice.

There's another morton fight here, this time with ice and whatnot. Also he
jumps a lot. Whatever.

*STAR COINS*

1. There's a couple of elevators here and on the second one you have to move
right through a hidden wall.

2. You'll spot this coin easily while you're climbing, but you'll have to wait
a while for the icicles to trigger and wipe out the bone-drys guarding it,
unless of course you're just super speedy and suicidal, or you can manage to
just jump up to the coin without getting on its level.

3. When you're on the elevator above the last star coin head left into an area
with this coin and have the icicles kill the enemies.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* There's a shortcut at the beginning of this level that you can
access using walljumps and there is also a pixeluigi up there.

------------------
FIRE AND ICE [604]
------------------

It's an ice level, but all of the enemies are shooting fire at you! How crazy
is that!?!? You can trick them into removing some obstacles from your path,
but mostly you'll just be running past your enemies to keep them from
overwhelming you. Or you could just head left at the start of the stage to
find a hidden block with a yoshi inside....

*STAR COINS*

1. you have to get a p-plant to shoot a fireball at one of those red spiky
things to open a path to this.

2. After running under a bunch of pipe and plants you can jump above them
through a fake wall to another coin.

3. This coin is below the stage but there are some coins below it which
obviously can be turned into bricks using a Pswitch. So where's the switch?
Well its above that ?block, and an invisible block above that. Hop to it and
then get down with it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* It's with the first star coin.

-------------------------
WEIGHTY WADDLEWINGS [605]
-------------------------

Waddlewings are the least of your concerns here. They're hardly as deadly as
those giant bullet tims taking up your whole friggin screen.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is hanging next to a wall so ride the platform down to it and then
walljump off of the wall just like the waddlewing demonstrates.

2. This coin is hanging in the air above a platform so it ought to be an easy
grab.

3. A trickier situation that is going to involve falling down into a chasm to
get to the coin and then jumping off of a waddlewing to get back up. The
critter moves in a regular pattern so time your fall so you'll land on him and
get the jump either back up to a wall you can walljump off of, or bring a
squirrelsuit of your own for an extra boost.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* One of the bullet tim cannons has a luigi face on it.

--------------------------
ICE-SLIDE EXPRESSWAY [606]
--------------------------

This level gives you a PENGUIN COSTUME and is built around using its special
powers of... um... whatever the penguin costume does. There's an invisible
block next to the pipe you can use to get up to it, and then you'll be in slide
world having a jolly old time. There are rolling hills here to speed you along
and coins to be jumped at and you'll basically want to be sliding the whole
way through the level for maximum enjoyment.

*STAR COINS*

1. The first coin is up on a platform you'll have to jump to. No biggie.

2. You'll probably have to stop when you see this coin and do some ground
pounding to break it out of its enclosure, but if you are sliding properly you
can dive right through the bricks from the side.

3. At the end of the level when you're sliding over the water you can jump
on the platforms to slide through the bricks above the pipe out of the area to
get to another pipe out of the area with a star coin behind a fake ceiling.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Also there is a hidden luigi with the third coin.

----------------------------
PEEK-A-BOO GHOST HOUSE [607]
----------------------------

Ghost houses are a pain to navigate through. This one starts with the floor
collapsing under your feat. Then you'll be going right and hoping on some
floaty platforms for a slow ride through some fake walls and boos and whatnot.
The giant boo can be lured out of the way by not looking at him, but a big jump
will suffice to get over him. Just go slow to get through the circles of boos
when it is safe.

As for the SECRET EXIT, well it's near the beginning of the level....

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is on the path to the secret exit so check out that section to
find out how to get to it.

2. This one is above the first ring of boos (ringboos). It's a fake wall.

3. Get past the bigboo to another ring of boos and then hop in the middle and
go through a fake thing to get this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This one is subtle. It's a luigi face in a cobweb near the end
of the level.

*SECRET AREA* Jump over the first ring of boos and get up on the ceiling so you
can run to a secret exit door.

---------------------------
WENDY'S THWOMP CASTLE [608]
---------------------------

As the name suggests, this level is full of thwomps. You'll have to either run
past them really quick or else fake them out by making them fall at the wrong
time. If you're running then let the coins guide you to where you have to go.

The boss this time is Wendy Kappa. She has like some kind of ice dancer schtick
going on but that doesn't make her terribly difficult to jump on.

*STAR COINS*

1. The first coin is in a pit between some thwomps. You'll have to fake out the
first thwomp and then jump into the pit in a way that you can walljump back
out to where that first thwomp will be slowly moving away from.

2. This one also needs you to fake out a thwomp, but you want to be able to
sneak under him right as he climbs back up.

3. This one is underpast the final thwomp before the boss's portal. Wait for
the big thwomp to start going back up and then slip under it and through the
fake wall.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This one exists in a place where you're going to be running
to avoid getting thwomped.

-------------------
FLIPRUS FLOES [609]
-------------------

This level is icy AND watery which is a crappy combo. There's icicles falling
on you and walruses throwing snow and water to slow you down. It's all bad.

*STAR COINS*

1. Look for a ceiling with icicles on it but a space in the middle that is
totally a fake ceiling and the platform can boost you up there.

2. You have to JUMP at the coin.

3. This one is on one of those narrow columns behind a flip walrus.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Left of the start of the level above a couple of hidden blocks.

===============================================================================
7. WALKTHROUGH - SODA JUNGLE [700]
===============================================================================

Alrighty at the start of this world there is a big airship circling around a
tree stump and hopefully you know that airship levels are a callback to Super
Mario Bros. 3 which was a totally sweet game from back in the day. It's gonna
be super fun. Otherwise the rest of this world is a sort of ugly looking
place that is kind of confusing to get through and there are different paths
you can take to advance.

Finishing SJ1 unlocks a mushut and levels 2 and 3. Beating 3 gets you a
green mushroom but otherwise they both take you to the tower. After the tower
is a ghost house that has a secret exit that opens up a shortcut to world 7.
Otherwise you'll be going down to SJ4. From there you could get stuck in a
loop or find another different exit to advance down to a graveyard filled with
boos and a mushroom. You have to watch where the boos go and avoid them. Then
you'll be at the last two levels before the castle and you can do whichever
one you want.

----------------
ALL ABOARD [701]
----------------

Here's your bleedin' airship level. Actually it's a nice place and the blue
skies and clouds in the background make the stage seem a lot friendlier than
the dire straits of the airship levels in SMB3 or even in Galaxy or 3D Land.
You're going to have to hop on a lot of screws if you want to live so try to
practice controlling them when its safe ('safe' means that there is ship below
you and no enemies throwing projectiles your way). This level is packed with
all sorts of different hucker brothers to try and knock you off of your game.
There are also a couple of MECKAPPAS around and they are like little wind-up
kappas that when you jump on them they temporarily can be picked up and used
to bash enemies... so they are like regular kappa shells except that they have
a different trajectory when thrown and they recover after a little while.

At the end of this level you're going to have a boss battle against BOWSER JR.
and it's going to be underwater. Sucks, I know. And hey, why is there a room
full of water on an airship anyway? That is the one thing about this game that
stretches the limits of my credulity. Anyways for this fight BOWSER JR. (BJ)
will be shooting homing torpedons at you and you have to lead them back to BJ
to damage him. The torpedons take a while to change direction so it can take
a little effort to maneuver them properly, but basically if you keep BJ
between you and the torpedons they will hit him eventually. You've gotta hit
him three times (that's standard) and in between rounds he'll try to shoot you
with non-homing torpedons. No big deal. Afterwards a big old Bowser hand will
swat you off of the ship.

*STAR COINS*

1. Go right from the start of the level, past the hucker baddie and right up
to the wall, which turns out to be a fake wall that was concealing the first
star coin.

2.This one is below a screw you ride over two fat huckers. You'll have to
drop down on the second one to get the coin.

3. Just past the last coin when you get back onto the ship there will be some
boxes to your right that you can totally groundpound for the third coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Look left at the star of the level to see a luigi face on the
hull.

-----------------------
GIANT SWING ALONG [702]
-----------------------

This is the level with all of the giant enemies. It's another SMB3 callback.
Right at the start of the level there is a giant kappa you can hit into a
couple of blocks for a powerup and a 1up. After that you're going to
be swinging on vines to get between some giant p-plants, which aren't as big as
the other giant p-plants from the earlier levels so that's kind of
disappointing. I don't know when swinging on vines got introduced to the mario
series I thought that was more of a Donkey Kong Country thing but hey I guess
this game has an awful lot of DKC influence besides.

*STAR COINS*

1. After the first swinging section you'll find two giant red kappas on bricks.
If you knock their shells into the bricks then you'll find that the one on the
right has a BEANSTALK inside that will carry you up to a magical land in the
clouds that has a star coin under some bricks that another kappa shell will
take care of.

2. When you drop out of the sky from the last star coin you'll see this one
between some pipes in front of you. Watch out for the p-plants and groundpound
the bricks to get this coin.

3. This coin is in the poison water right before the flagpole so you'll want
to send the last kappa's shell to pick it up for you.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This is below the beanstalk to SC1.

-----------------------------------
DANCING BLOCKS, POISON SWAMP [703]
-----------------------------------

The blocks in this level 'dance,' which means that they move periodically and
you're gonna wanna be careful about where you are going. Wherever possible try
to stand on non-moving ?blocks or jump on airkappas or whatever. In the first
length of of block platforms that fall back into the poison there is a ?block
with a powerup that can be an acorn and floating over this section is highly
recommended. The rest of the level is actually pretty easy though.

*STAR COINS*

1. Oh man, this coin comes in and out of the poison with those brick platforms
at the beginning of the level and its going to take a lot of timing and luck
and skillful walljumping to get it. Good luck, Chuck.

2. This one is out on one of those yellow tendrils(?) that curl-up and roll-out
periodically so run out when it's unfurling and run back before it curls up
again. Or just throw the provided kappa shell at the coin.

3. This coin is on some 'dancing blocks' and you should be okay to hop from
moving platform to moving platform here to pick up the coin and there is
another kappa shell if you need it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* He's on the secret exit flagpole.

*SECRET EXIT* Like this exit is super wierd. At the start of the level where
there's all of those bricks coming out of the poison go to the last one and
groundpound it and it turns out the bottom one is solid and makes a Pswitch
appear and that switch makes bricks appear to take you to a warpipe which will
take you to a secret area(?).

-----------------------------
HEART OF BRAMBALL WOODS [704]
-----------------------------

This level is the home of those horrible LEGHEADS... you know... those things
that only have heads and legs and they move their legs around to create spaces
or otherwise stand between you and somewhere you want to be. These guys are
jerks. You can bop them on the head but you'll have time it right if they are
moving in their silly leghead manner. You'll get some practice jumping on these
guys at the start of the level and there is a red coin challenge involved that
can get you a fireflower which will be useful for dispatching these guys later
on. Be sure to notice that their legs come up over their heads and they can go
through platforms.

*STAR COINS*

1. The first moving leghead is under a Pswitch and you'll have to jump off
of him into the Pswitch to turn some upcoming bricks into coins so you can
run through them to the area with the first coin.

2. You'll have to kill or avoid another leghead to get this coin. It's right
past the last coin.

3. You'll have to run across a platform and slide (or just be smalluigi) to get
this coin, and also watch out for the leghead below you because he can attack
you from below. You'll have to move when it's safe.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* There's a little and hard to spot luigi face on one of the
platforms near the first couple of starcoins.

-----------------------
STONE-SNAKE TOWER [705]
-----------------------

Hey! Watch out! There's a thing coming for you right at the start of the level!
Did you dodge it? You're welcome. Anyways in this level you're going to be
riding those wierd blocks from Super Mario World that trace paths through
levels and move slowly except sometimes when they snake around and make things
difficult for you. And then sometimes your platform is co-opted by enemies so
that's even more of a pain.

This is a tower level and that means you'll be fighting that mook mini boss
again and he's just as easy as always.

*STAR COINS*

1. Not too bad a coin. You can jump to it from the green moving platform and
then walljump back. Watch out from the frags falling from above.

2. This one is hanging between some swinging spikyballs so try to jump up there
when they are swinging away from the coin #commonsense

3. The third star coin (and the pixeluigi) are in a fake wall on the left side
of the shaft that ends the moving platform part of the level. You'll have to
be quick and nimble to get over and up there before the platforms start moving
up, and then you'll be doing a buncha walljumps up to the coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* In the fake wall with the last star coin.

--------------------------
BOO'S FAVORITE HAUNT [706]
--------------------------

Just go right and skip between the circleboos. Be careful of dark areas that
may be hiding boos. Also the boorings here sometimes expand/contract or just
move in strange directions so you should always be afraid.

The secret exit here requires a squirrel suit and that requires you to not
be injured by boos throughout the level. I guess you can just float over them
and then float over the regular exit and a long chasm to get to the secret
exit. Otherwise when you get to the end of the platforms you'll find the
regular exit inside a booring hidden behind some darkness. It's actually very
straightforward for an Illusion Forest-ish Ghost House.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is up above the second ringboos and there is an invisible block
below the coin but inside the ring for you to jump off of.

2. This one is above a booring and its pretty easy to spot and jump to when
you're just otherwise running and jumping over these boos.

3. When you get to the 'end' of the level there will be a tight booring
circling around an area of darkness that shaped like a door. Well just ignore
them and bring a squirrel suit to float to the right to find a coin and a
luigi portrait. This is actually a SECRET EXIT that allows you to skip the
next world and go to MERINGUE CLOUDS early.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Also in the secret exit there is a portrait of Luigi.

*SECRET EXITS* Like I mentioned already I think just bring a squirrel with you
and dive off the right side of the level.

----------------------
PAINTED PIPEWORKS[707]
----------------------

I don't remember there being any pipes in Van Gogh's Starry Night but whatever.
There are painted p-plant pipes moving around here. Be careful with them
because sometimes they dip into the poison water. At the start of the level is
a powerup and an easy red coin challenge that will get you a fireflower that
can help you deal with the p-plants clogging up the platforms you wanna jump
at.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is on a revolving cross of pipes so sometimes its gonna be under
the poison. It's just past a long blue pipe that extends diagonally out of the
p-water to the right... and the coin is above a red pipe with a p-plant in it.

2. A little ways past the last coin there area a bunch of green and red and
yellow pipes swaying about and the second star coin is in the air between two
pipes.

3. When you get to a section where you have to duck under a p-plant swinging
overhead in a blue pipe, keep going and there will be a second instance of the
same concept except this time a star coin rests just above the poison in
between the two shortest pipes. It's gonna be a tricky walljump. Try sliding
down the side of the pipe you are on instead of trying to fall to the other
side.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* A not-so-subtle picture in the secret exit.

*SECRET EXIT* Man what is even with all of these exits? This time its a red
pipe coming out of the top of the screen at the end of the level.

------------------------
DEEPSEA STONE-EYES [708]
------------------------

Those big stone faces from world two are back. They'll try to move around and
crush you but they're not very good at it. Also there are some fishbone
enemies that lock onto where you are and then dive in that direction until they
hit something. You can just move out of the way and let them crash.

*STAR COINS*

1. Right when you go underwater you should be able to see this off on the
right side of the area. It's easy enough to get past the moving stone face
guarding it but I guess he could crush you if you are sloppy.

2. At the top of the underwater section on the left side of the screen there
is a stoneface in the wall who will sooner or later move out of your way so
you can get this coin.

3. After the last coin wait for that mean statue to fall and then there will
be a warpipe up to a secret room with this coin and also a pixeluigi.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Take the pipe to the third coin.

*SECRET EXIT* There's a secret exit at the start of the level where instead
of going down the pipe to get underwater you go to the right side of the
starting are and groundpound the statue there and it will move and let you go
through a secret route.

Many thanks to hellprophet for pointing out this secret exit to me.

---------------------
SUMO BRO BRIDGE [709]
---------------------

This bridge is all broken because the eponymous sumo bros have been stomping
all over it. Watch out for their projectiles that stick to platforms and also
don't jump on them. There's a green coin challenge here that will give you a
squirrelsuit to breeze over the level if you are afraid to do it the honest
way.

*STAR COINS*

1. This is between the first sumo bros in the level. Just jump up there when
their platforms are out of the way. There's an invisible block below this
coin with a 1up inside.

2. There's this section with three sumo bros stompin down sparks on three
lower platforms... and the one in the middle is a warp pipe that just screams
'hey this totally leads to a secret area with a star coin come down here if
you dare'. You gotta try to sneak down here when that sumo guy ain't shocking
it and also sticking the landing is tricky because luigi is clumsy. And then
if you get down there it's just a timely walljump up to the coin.

3. This one is right in the middle of your path but the platforms below it
are moving so be sure you have somewhere to land when you make the jump.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Just past that block that spins with all kinds of different
powerups there are some tangled vines that make up a luigi face.

------------------------
WIGGLER FLOODLANDS [710]
------------------------

This is a giant level that focusses on wigglers. You can bounce on top of these
guys for a ride or to jump to higher areas.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is easy to see. You've got to hurry up and jump off of the wiggler
below it before it scampers away but more will come.

2. This coin is above the yellow pipe at the end of the first section. You've
gotta groundpound the blocks I guess.

3. This coin is just a little ways off of your path up the second section so
bounce off of the wiggler to get up here and then bounce off him again to
continue your ascent.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Just before the flagpole head left through the fake wall.

----------------------------------
IGGY'S SWINGING-CHAIN CASTLE [711]
----------------------------------

This level has wave-pattern lava creeping along the bottom of the level, so
it sometimes covers platforms and sometimes not. Jump on platforms when they're
not covered in lava. Lava is bad.

Iggy is a tough boss because he is insane and unpredictable. He moves in and
out of pipes and runs on the ceiling and summons lava monsters to help him and
other things. Good luck.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin just appears on a chain you have to swing off of so drop down to
it when there's no lava in the way.

2.There is a small platform before the 3rd coin and the platform is mostly in
the lava but it is also a fake wall from the right so get in there and get out.

3. This coin is a little ways below your standard route so again only drop
down when there ain't no lava.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* He's in the lava below the start of the stage.

------------------------
PARA-BEETLE PARADE [712]
------------------------

In this level you have to hop on the back of para-beetles and they'll carry
you around assuming you aren't killed by bullets or plants or whatever. Get
yourself an acorn and make things easier for yourself.

*STAR COINS*

1. Hit some p-switches to lead you to this coin and make a way to kill the
plant guarding it.

2. This one is at the end of a trail of red coins.

3. Hop on a big parabeetle to move his carapace out of the way.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This guy is hiding in with some parabeetles near a big bullet.

===============================================================================
8. WALKTHROUGH - ROCK CANDY MINES [800]
===============================================================================

This world can be tricky to navigate through because of those annoying red and
blue switches that switch up the red and blue platforms. You may have to
complete all of the levels and do some backtracking if you want to reach all
of the items hidden around the map. There are secret exits in a couple of
levels which will allow you to bypass certain switches on the map and maybe
get you into the castle through the backdoor....

-----------------
MOUNT FUZZY [801]
-----------------

You're gonna be climbing up a mountain with a bunch of obnoxious fuzzies
hanging around. The fuzzies stick to their rails and they move predictably so
they're not too bad. The first thing you wanna do is go up past the first
fuzzy and to the left ledge and then jump up to an invisible block with a MINI
MUSHROOM that makes Luigi small but in a good way. It makes you float a little
more and it's easier to squeeze by enemies. And under the first star coin area
there is a secret mini room with 3ups.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is in a room you have to go through so you should have no trouble
spotting it and also figuring it out for yourself that the kappa shell can be
thrown down to kill all four fuzzies when they travel down there.

2. Another coin in plain sight but this one is over a pit with some fuzzies in
it and you may not be able to freeze them or throw anything at it or something
like that.

3. Another coin in plain sight and right past the last one. Also it is over
a pit and if you cant find a way to walk on fuzzies then you'll have to jump
down into the pit and hope you can walljump out.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Above the first SC behind a fake wall/roof.

------------------------
PURCUPUFFER CAVERN [802]
------------------------

There's a powerup for you at the start and then you go into a warp pope and
head underground for the rest of the level. This time you're in a cavern with
water on the floor and a big fat fish swimmin' around trying to eat you if you
get too close. There are lots of ways to stay off of the water though and
anyways the fish is stupid and won't always be around to punish you. There is
also a squirrelsuit you can get through some red coins to keep you airborne.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is in the water when you get underground. Watch out for the fishy.

2. This one is above a pole after the red coins. You climb the pole through a
fake ceiling.

3. Another coin near the water but this time it is over some concrete platforms
you can just run across.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On a pole near the 2nd s-coin.

--------------------------
SMASHING-STONE TOWER [803]
--------------------------

This level begins with more of those grrrols falling from above you as you try
to climb yet another tower. You'll have to find some hidden blocks to keep
climbing and be aware that they alter the path of the falling grrols and also
they can break the blocks. The next part is a puzzle where you have to create
some invisiblocks on the sides where the grrrols are falling from so that they
will break the blocks in the center of the stage. And then in the next part
there is a whole screen of blocks that are going to be broken by some grrrrols
and be careful not to get squished by them when they get down to the landing
you're standing on.

This time minimook has wings so you'll have to wait until he swoops down
before you can jump on him over and over again.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is right in the middle of the first jump you have to make using
invisiblocks.

2. In that section where the grrols are falling on those invisible blocks you
find you can go into the pipes on the side of the stage and go into a room
with a fake ceiling.

3. When those big grrrols break up the brick room there will be a warp pipe
made accessible on the left side and it leads to this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the wall in the room with the second Star Coin.

*SECRET EXIT* Take the warpipe to the third coin and do a groundpound in the
middle of the room.

---------------------
SPIKE'S SEESAWS [804]
---------------------

This level is full of those enemies from that one earlier level. What did I
decide to call them? Yuppies? That's a stupid name. Anyways, this level is
full of Yuppies and they'll be hurling spikeballs at you using these tilty
platforms to change where the spikeballs go. Most of the level will be spent
jumping over their spikes, at least until you do the green coin challenge and
get yourself an all-powerful fireflower, because when you get that the level is
already over.

*STAR COINS*

1. Um move right at the start of the level. Watch out for the rolling thing
and... yeah... this coin is just sitting on a platform.

2. When you get up to a Yuppie that is standing on some bricks you'll have to
kill him and groundpound the bricks.

3. This is at the end of the shaft where you go up on that tilty platform
while lots of yuppies hurl stuff at you.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Behind one of the yuppies pelting you with stuff on the seesaw.
Hit the yuppie with a fireball.

-------------------------
LIGHT-UP-LIFT TOWER [805]
-------------------------

This level is a VERTICAL SCROLLER and if you don't ascend fast enough then you
will die. Mostly you'll be riding those lighty platforms to go up (also, the
level is dark and you need lights to see) but sometimes you can jump around to
other things. Just don't fall because falling means death. Anyways try to pick
up the powerups at the start and in the middle of the level because later on
there's gonna be a bunch of p-plants breathing fire at you and having fire of
your own will make things much easier on you.

*STAR COINS*

1. When you start ascending you'll find a kappa and then see on the right side
of the screen how some lightblocks are opening up a path to a star coin and you
don't even have to go over there yourself because the kappa shell can pick up
the coin for you.

2. When you get up to a concrete platform with a fireworm on it you can
walljump over to the right to pick up a coin.

3. When the platforms carry you to the top of the level there will still be a
p-plant on the left side of the screen and the coin is behind it. I hope you
managed to kill it with a fireflower, though you can jump over the plant and
walljump back if you are carefulucky.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* At the start of the level go to the right of the screen.

---------------------
RISING PIRANHAS [806]
---------------------

This time the p-plants will try to grow and bite you. There are all kinds of
powerups around if you need something for dealing with plants or avoiding them
or whatever. Heck, there is even a baby blue yoshi before this level that can
bubble everything to death.

*STAR COINS*

1. On a platform below a plant. Either kill the plant or jump over it/duck
under it to ride the platform to the coin.

2. Find two plants walking along a row of coins below a platform with a kappa
on it. Use the kappa shell to take them out and then run down there to look
through a fake ceiling in the middle.

3. This coin is right behind a big p-plant so you'll have to kill it with some
kind of powerup or yoshi or kappa shell.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* In the cave with the 2nd star coin there is a luigi-shaped hole
in the background wall.

*SECRET EXIT* Find those ?blocks that give you iceflowers and acorns. Just
past them is a big plant on a moving platform and you'll want to get above him
and jump into a secret area above the cave with the aforementioned powerups.
Either freeze the plant and use him as a platform or use the acorn to fly up
there.

-----------------------------
SPINE COASTER STOWAWAYS [807]
-----------------------------

This level is a rollercoaster ride on the back of a fossil. Also there is
poison goop at the bottom of the style to kill you and some plants around
that breathe fire or how on your ride. The fossilcoaster makes a horrible
noise and is scary.

*STAR COINS*

1. This star coin will appear above your coaster early on and will follow you
for a while so pick it up at your convenience.

2. Hit the Pswitch and wait for the coaster to move up again and there will be
a coin at the next apex.

3. Near the end of the level the coaster will dip into the purple and you'll
be jumping over it and a star coin will appear during one of your jumps.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* In the wall next to star coin #2.

-------------------------------
SUMO BRO'S SPINNING TOWER [808]
-------------------------------

Do you remember the sumo bros from Soda Jungle and how they work, with the
stomping and how it effects the platform below them? Yeah, that's still a
thing. Also there are screws to spin on to make them wind-up platforms. That
hasn't stopped from happening either. There are lots of powerups thrown your
way early so get your ice-mode on and freeze any sumos you don't like.

Oh, the boss this time is a big sumo guy? That's a little different. You've
got to hit from underneath and then groundpound his exposed vulnerable belly.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is just a jump above one of the screwy platforms.

2. This one is behind a sumo bro and you can bop him from below or freeze and
throw him to get to the coin.

3. This one is above the boss's door and there is a sumo guy up there trying
to hit you as you make invisible platforms to get up.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Is up there with the last star coin.

-------------------------
SWITCH-LIFT EXPRESS [809]
-------------------------

You're underground again on some platforms that move quickly when you press
the orange pswitches. Sometimes they trigger cascades of moving blocks and
things can get all out of control and then ARG YOU'RE DEAD GAME OVER MAN GAME
OVER! No, just keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. You can even walk
over part of this level like its bleedin' 1-2 all over again.

*STAR COINS*

1. this one is above the second pswitch and you can just wiggle up there with
some walljumps or something.

2. this one is after you get back on solid ground after the pswitch platforms.
There's a pswitch there tempting you to press it BUT if you do then you'll
block the path to the 2nd star coin.

3. You'll also want to refrain from hitting the next pswtich and go for the
one after it so that you can get enough air to reach the third star coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This one is in a fake wall near the second star coin.

---------------------------
ROY'S IRONCLAD CASTLE [810]
---------------------------

If you were diligent and clever in exploring the earlier levels and the secret
paths on the world map then you'll be able to come into this castle through
the 'back-door' and skip most of the level and pick up the third star coin.
Otherwise you're gonna have to get through the level the hard way.

This level has a bunch of conveyor belts as platforms so that can be annoying.
Also its annoying that big blocks are constantly being dropped on those same
conveyor belts. Heads up! And some of those pswitches on the undersides of
blocks will get you dead but some will get you star coins so... i dont know...
you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Well anyways if you manage to survive despite my unhelpful advice then you'll
be fighting Roy and apparently he is the cool kappa kid and he carries around
a cannon like its a boombox. Probably you're too young to remember but people
used to carry around stereos to blast music out in public before walkmans, cd
players, mp3 players, and smartphones were invented. It's been a heck of a
technological ride these past three decades, I'll tell ya... though some things
haven't changed much (e.g: this game). Anyways a bunch of platforms will
appear above you to... do something? Just jump on him three times.

*STAR COINS*

1. Press that orange pswtich to drop a block on your head and also get a SC.

2. There's a not so hidden luigi right before this coin and its on a platform
with a bone-dry and its about to sink into the lava so hurry in and hurry out@!

3. You have to go in through the backdoor to get this coin. There are secret
exits in a couple of earlier levels which can help you with this. Anyways the
coin is on a block that will fall off of the conveyor belt above you and then
it will sink into the lava if you dont grab it in time.

*Hidden Luigi* not hidden at all. There's a pixeluigi by the 2nd star coin.

===============================================================================
9. WALKTHROUGH - MERINGUE CLOUDS [900]
===============================================================================

This is a pretty sweet world. It's fun and bouncy and whatnot. You're on a
cloud this time. After the first level you have a branching path to levels
2 and 3. They both lead to the world's tower, and after that there is a green
toadhouse and a ghost house. The ghost house has a secret exit that lets you
skip the rest of the world to go to the castle, and it also has a regular exit
to levels 4 and 5. There is a rainbow path through the clouds you can take
to get either a ?block item or fight some fuzzies or get to a level. You only
have to go to the middle level to get to the castle, and after the castle there
is one more level where you finally deal with bowser's airship and that stupid
mechanical bowser arm that has caused you so much trouble.

--------------------
FROZEN FUZZIES [901]
--------------------

Right off of the bat you'll see some big fuzzies in front of you and it will
be super scary I know but soon an ice hucker guy will freeze them for you and
you can use them as platforms. And then when you get to the next platform you
get two powerups and one of them is a penguin costume that lets you do the
freezing yourself. Also there is an invisible 1up above the powerups so... I
don't know... it all seems overly generous if you ask me.

Anyways if you get injured and lose your penguin powers then you won't be able
to free your own fuzzies. There will be enemies around to freeze them for you
for some reason when you need to advance through the level, but to get star
coins you're gonna have to bring your own ice and that's all there is too it.

*STAR COINS*

1. Jump off of a frozen fuzzy towards the first coin which is kinda clouded.

2. This coin is easy to spot under one of the platforms you'll be platforming
on. You'll have to use your ice powers to free a fuzzy and hitch a ride under
the platform.

3. There are some fuzzies circling around an ice hucker and you can kill him
and then groundpound into the platform.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Near the end of the level there is an ice hucker freezing
fuzzies for you and he has a pixeluigi near him.

-------------------
WIGGLER RODEO [902]
-------------------

This time you're gonna be riding on wiggler's backs. Wait, didn't we already
do this once? I think it was back in Soda Jungle... except they were giant
wigglers that time. I guess it's not a big difference. Anyways, go jump on
some wigglers as a way of staying out of those... um... deadly black flower
things? What even are those things?

*STAR COINS*

1. There's a wiggler under this coin but there is also a chainedchomp there
so make sure it is facing the wrong way or kill it.

2. Yeah it turns out that when you groundpound a chainedchomp pole that the
chomp just bolts out in the direction she's facing so when you see this coin
behind a brickwall and a chainedchomp nearby you should release the chomp at
the wall and she'll break it down for you.

3. Back at the last starcoin there is a brick with a starguy inside and you
can get that and use it to run on the black biteys and get this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* It's with star coin 2.

---------------------
RAINBOW SKYWALK [903]
---------------------

This level has lots of platforms and bullet tims. When you jump on the
platforms with the arrows on them they will move in the direction of the arrow
and take you along for the ride, but if you jump off of the platform it will
stop and reverse... so you can use your jump for a small measure of control.

When you get up the first shaft you'll be treated to a wide variety of powerups
so you can pick what you want. There is even an invisible minimushroom above
an arrow sign. Also a 1up.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is at the top of the first shaft you go up. Use your JUMP to get
it.

2. There is a fake wall on the right side of a pit under a moving platform and
a 1up so get down there and go in the pipe and throw a pow block and then do
some walljumping up to the coin before it gets away.

3. This one is behind some bricks right before the flagpole.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Head left from the last star coin and go in a hidden warpipe
to a secret area.

----------------------
STONECRUSH TOWER [904]
----------------------

This level is already moving! Actually its not as deadly as it appears. It's
just moving to frighten you a bit. It won't even squash you the first few
times. And if you hit all of the ?blocks you'll have iceflowers to deal with
the bone-dries.

Your boss fight this time is against magikappa himself. He makes a buncha
platforms appear for you to jump on as you chase him around. He'll be
teleporting around the move and shooting magical shapes at you. Sometimes
he'll drop the platforms on you if you are below them so try to stay on top
because also that is a good place to be jumping on his head from. There are
kappas in some of the blocks and if they ever get out you can use their shells
as weapons. Eventually he'll turn the floor of the stage into CHEERIO BLOCKS,
which are old Mario-game standbys that fall when you stand on them for too
long. And they look kind of like cheerios.

*STAR COINS*

1. Right when the level starts run right and kill a thing right away!

2. This one is between some sliding blocks and there's a fire hucker you
should kill first.

3. Under the door to the boss's office there is a fake wall with a star coin
inside.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the way up from the first time there is a luigi face on the
wall.

---------------------------
VANISHING GHOST HOUSE [905]
---------------------------

In this level the ?blocks get yanked out of place and hurled at you. There
must be some kind of invisible undead hucker brothers around. Some of the
?blocks are legitimate though so jump at them anyways. And some of those real
?blocks have starguys in them to make you super invulnerable.

This level has a SECRET GHOST HOUSE EXIT under the second starman. If you
fall off of the platforms in the right way you'll fall down to an exit door.
The secret path lets you skip the rest of the world and go on to the CASTLE.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is above some ?blocks that happen to be real. If you're having
problems getting up there then clear the area of the fake/evil ?blocks first.

2. This is after another spinning square platform and then you move right
and look up for another coin.

3. This is in a fake wall below the door to the exit.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* When you secretly exit the house there will be a decorative
image of luigi poltergeisting a boo.

*SECRET EXIT* This level has a secret exit under the second starguy. If you
fall off of the platforms in the right way you'll fall down to an exit door.
The secret path lets you skip the rest of the world and go on to the CASTLE.

-----------------------------
ABOVE THE BOUNCY CLOUDS [906]
-----------------------------

This level is pink and there are pink clouds that make you bounce very high in
the air. There is also a YOSHI in this level in some of the blocks above the
first group of bouncy clouds. Yoshis are fun.

*STAR COINS*

1. There's a kappa dancing around near some pipes. You should rob him off his
shell and bring it about one screen right to throw it at this coin which is
in the middle of a big pit.

2. This coin is between some green pipes so you should slide down there and
walljump at it.

3. Towards the end of the level there are some bouncy clouds with kappas
and a ring of coins spinning around and this coin sometimes comes around in
that ring.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Is behind a big p-plant near the start of the level. Kill it.

------------------------------
FLAME CHOMP FERRIS WHEEL [907]
------------------------------

This level has flame chomps flying at you but the thing is that they can be
killed by jumping on them so they aren't very threatening. They can also shoot
fireballs at you and then explode but you don't need to be near them when
they are doing that.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is at the bottom of some spinning platforms near the beginning
of the level.

2. This coin is above some big p-plants but not so close to them that you have
to be worried.

3. This coin is at the top of the flagpole. You can jump off of a nearby flame
chomp to get up there.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Around Star Coin 2 you can see a luigi in the backgroundclouds.

------------------------------
THREE HEADED SNAKE BLOCK [908]
------------------------------

I guess this type of platform is called a 'snake block'. Ride the snakeblock.
Be the snakeblock.

*STAR COINS*

1. When your snakeblock splits in three you'll want to move down to the bottom
one to get the first coin.

2. After the red coins there will be two KISSCLOUDS and above the second on is
an obscure coin.

3. And this coin is right between two of your snakeblocks so you'll probably
be going this way anyways.

*HIDDEN LUIGI*

---------------------------------
LUDWIG'S BLOCK-PRESS CASTLE [909]
---------------------------------

Um watch out for huge blocks just vaulting across the screen every so often.

Ludwig is the boss now and he flies around and splits in three and then stops
doing that so you can jump on him. I don't think he's very tough.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is at the top of the level and is easy to spot. Watch out for
the spinfire and other things.

2. You have to do some backtracking for this and also friggin hurry because
you will get crushed. If you can get an iceflower and freeze a thing and hurl
it down the corridor for you, then do that.

3. You should freeze a guy and throw it at this coin but you can probably
walljump over if you avoid bad things.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the path up to Ludwig there is a silhoutted luigi on the
wall.

-------------------------
BOWSER JR. SHOWDOWN [910]
-------------------------

Finally a tough level. You're riding a cloud through some darker clouds while
it's raining bombas and also that big mechanical bowser hand thing is trying
to smush you. Good times. There are some squirrel costumes around if you like
dressing up like a squirrel.

There's a fight against bowser Jr. and he's a pretty tough and complicated
boss. You can't jump on his head. You have to throw bombas at him. Watch the
flip out when he starts moving and punching and throwing stuff at you and then
wait patiently for those times when he gets his contraption's arms stuck in
the ground and they become a platform for him to throw bombas on because that
is when you're supposed to run up the arm, jump on a bomba, and then throw the
bomba at BJ.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is right at the start of the level and you can use a bomba or
the big bowser hand to break the bricks around it.

2. This one is past 3 moving squares made of bricks and you can jump through
some clouds to it.

3. When you're going under those cannons jump up through a fake ceiling.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Also there's a luigi in there besides your luigi.

===============================================================================
10. WALKTHROUGH - PEACH'S CASTLE [1000]
===============================================================================

This is a shorter world than the others since it is pretty much just Peach's
Castle except with some lava splashed around. It's a straightforward world
without a lot of secrets or complicated paths. Your goal is right ahead of you
so all you need to do is charge ahead and seize your destiny.

-----------------
MAGMA MOAT [1001]
-----------------

As the name suggests, this level takes place on some platforms over some lava,
and the lava is kind of like water making all of the platforms bob up and down.
There are also some kappas and fireballs around. And believe it or not there
is also a secret exit here that lets you skip a couple of the levels in this
already abbreviated world.

*STAR COINS*

1. Pick up the first kappa shell and throw it at this coin so you don't have to
hop into the lava after it.

2. This coin is in some bricks and it only takes an easy walljump to obtain it.
Let the fireballs clear a path for you.

3. Keep running until you are going under some bricks in a step like pattern.
Then double back and get on top of those bricks and go into the middle to make
this coin appear.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* In the secret exit.

*SECRET EXIT* Just before the hidden luigi. Lol. Okay, for reals this time:
after the second star coin go right until you are under a single layer of
bricks across the top of the screen. Let the fireballs break the bricks and
then hop up there and jump to the right into a fake wall hiding a warpipe.

--------------------------
MAGMAW RIVER CRUISE [1002]
--------------------------

This level has an annoying enemy in which I guess is called a MAGMAW since
that's the title of the level. They'll come up out of the lava periodically to
try and hurt you. Oh yeah, you're gonna be riding over the lava on a moving
platform so your movement is restricted. And the platform has a counter on it
that goes down whenever an enemy rides the platform with you and if five
enemies are on at once then the platform stops. There are gonna be lots of
foes dropping on on you so your mission is to dispatch them hastily. You can
use kappa shells to clear the platform.

*STAR COINS*

1. When you first get on the platform and move ahead a bit you'll see that
there are 5 blocks that you can jump on to get up to an empty ledge. Once you
get up there the ledge won't be empty anymore and you'll get a star coin.

2. When you get under the pipes and enemies there will also be a star coin in
the lava that you have to throw a kappa shell at.

3. This one is on some platforms above your ride. It's being guarded by some
fire huckers but its not too difficult to get to.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* another pixeluigi on the lava surface when you get to the part
with all of the enemies above you.

---------------
HOT COGS [1003]
---------------

The platforms in this level are cogs that spin around and are annoying to walk
and jump over.

*STAR COINS*

1. This is in the first cog but you'll have to wait a while for it to come
around.

2. After the second cog you can get on the lower part of the next platform and
go through a fake wall to get to this coin. It's on a mostly submerged cog
so watch your step

3. This coin is being guarded by some rapidly moving lavaballs and you'll just
have to run through them and take the hit as far as I can tell. Or it turns
out that there is an iceflower you can use to freeze a foe and throw him over
to the coin which I guess is the better idea.

*HIDDEN LUIGI*

----------------------
FIREFALL RISING [1004]
----------------------

This is a vertical level and you have to take the secret exit in the earlier
level to get here. Anyways so you're gonna be jumping on a lot of platforms
that move and disappear sometimes. Oh and also there are firefalls falling
all over the place.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is practically on your path up after a couple of sets of moving
platforms.

2. is is up on some switching blocks along with a ?block.

3. This is with some switching blocks that like build themselves section by
section and then disappear and its not too complicated to wait a second to
jump to the ledge this coin is on.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Ride the first set of horizontally moving platforms all the way
to the left and go through a fake wall.

--------------------
CURRENT EVENT [1005]
--------------------

This level takes place inside Peach's Castle I guess. You're on a platform on
a wire and you're going to have to keep enemies off of it and also avoid
running into hazards and obstacles and whatnot. This platform is unique in
this game because you have to control it using TILT CONTROLS. Don't spend too
much time worrying about it though because the frigging lava is rising up after
you.

*STAR COINS*

1. You have to jump between some electrobowser faces to get this coin. Make
sure your platform will be on the other side to catch you when you come down.

2. This coin is below your platform so you'll need to add some weight to your
platform to lower yourself down to it (but you, not so low that the lava rises
up to you).

3. You'll have to jump off one of the falling bombas to get to this high coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* It's near the exit door.

-----------------------
THE FINAL BATTLE [1006]
-----------------------

That jerk JR is riding around this level in his tulipmobile or whatever that
thing is and he's gonna be breaking up your platforms. You can lead him into
breaking things for you but mostly you're gonna wanna just run quickly to keep
him behind you.

When you get past the lava part you'll go and fight a SMB style Boswer and I
hope you already know how to do this. You just get around him either under or
over him with a walljump or something and hit the switch to kill boswer but
not really.

Then there's a real final battle on the roof of the castle and you'll have
plenty of time to screw around up there. Bowser is a lot bigger and JR is also
around. You have to avoid there attacks and take BJ's tulipmobile and use that
to fly up over Bowser and initiate a groundpound on Bowser's head. And then you
do that two more times and the game is beat and you can post something on
miiverse about how you did it. Bowser falls down and then the airship crashes
yet again and then all of the kappakids fly away on the tulipmachine. And then
the credits will role and they are pretty boring.

And what is your reward for finishing the game? How about a hella sweet STAR
on your save file? And maybe a PURPLE MUSHROOM HOUSE that has STATS about all
of the star coins you've collected? Totally worth it, right? And then the path
to SUPERSTAR ROAD appears but you'll need all of the star coins in a world to
get in there.

*STAR COINS*

1. Have BJ break the bricks around this coin.

2. This coin is on a moving platform under some ?blocks that will protect you
from BJ. But hey, the fewer he breaks the better cuz they have 1ups inside.

3. This coin is on some platforms you have to take but they fall in the lava a
if you're not quick so um be super quick about it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Just after the second star coin as part of the detail on the
platform.

11. WALKTHROUGH - WORLD 9: SUPERSTAR ROAD [1100]
===============================================================================

This world is a secret. Don't tell anyone.

You can't access this world until you finish the main game by completing the
level THE FINAL BATTLE at the end of PEACH'S CASTLE. But really the game isn't
very difficult or long so you shouldn't have any trouble unlocking this.

Is this where the real challenge begins?

Most of these levels are designed so that you are constantly moving for one
reason or another.

And yeah you're gonna have to go back to the old worlds and collect star coins
to unlock these levels.

--------------------------------
SPINE COASTER CONNECTIONS [1101]
--------------------------------

Another hair-raising spine-coaster ride. Hold onto your hat and have fun.
You'll be flying across this stage and jumping between costers while also
dodging an inconvenient number of fuzzies. It's time to put those videogamer
reflexes to the test!

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is in the middle of a jump you make between two spinecoasters.
You'll just have to time your jump well to get between the fuzzies.

2. When there gets to be 3 coasters going at once you need to make your way
to the middle coaster when there gets to be lots of fuzzies on the bottom track
and jump as soon as you touch the coin.

3. Very soon after the 2nd coin you can run forward to drop down to the lower
coaster to get this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* There's a pixeluigi in the top of the level at the beginning
when you jump over the first fuzzy.

---------------------
P SWITCH PERIL [1102]
---------------------

When you get into this level and hit the pSwitch to enable your progress you'll
also collapse the support for the ceiling and have to run through the level so
as not to be crushed. You've gotta stay on your toes and jump and duck around
obstacles with perfect timing and precision. The Pswitches will keep the
platforms you need around, and you don't even have to stop to hit them because
the falling blocks will trigger them for you.

*STAR COINS*

1. This one is easy to spot and is just a floaty jump away from the block
before it.

2. This coin is sitting on some blocks you'll be running across. Some spikey
things are in the way so you have to time a jump right to get the coin and
avoid them.

3. This one is at the end of the collapsing cavern but don't worry if you can't
bounce up there off of some enemies. Just run out of the area and turn around
once the blocks have fallen.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This one is behind some blocks just past the second star coin,
where its safe to wait a second and break some bricks.

--------------------------
STAR COIN DEEP DIVE [1103]
--------------------------

This is an underwater level with a big angry fishy that is going to be chasing
you around as you are also made to chase star coins around. Yep, these coins
are so annoying to track down that they gave the level its name.

At the beginning of this level, before you go underwater, you can jump on the
middle platform to find a hidden block with a starguy inside which will be
super helpful in taking out the immediate enemies down below and getting the
first sCoin. Unfortunately killing the big fishy will only buy you a little
time before another one shows up to hurry you through the level. There is also
a fireflower powerup for you to use on the fishies but it takes a couple of
hits to kill them.

*STAR COINS*

1. Did you grab the starguy before going underwater? If so, then you'll have
no trouble swimming right through some fishies to get this coin.

2. This coin will float down into view and then be swept along by some pipe
currents. Give chase! When the coin gets stuck up between some red and blue
pipes just ignore them and battle your way through the jetstreams.

3. This coin will get swept up in some streams but if you get swept along in
the same currents you can overtake the coin in good time.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This one is below the red coin ring and you need to get the
fish to get some blocks out of the way.

--------------------------
HAMMERSWING HANGOUT [1104]
--------------------------

This one is an ice level and you also have to ride on two swinging hammers as
they slowly climb through the level while walruses throw snow at you and also
there are a bunch of cheerioblocks around to jump on and it's all a big
chaotic mess so just stumble through it until you have all of the coins and it
is over with.

There are usually lots of areas for you to jump to at any given time. The
hammers swing at a set speed and even when they are pointed down you can still
step onto their base for a moment. Watch out for how the snowballs roll down
from above. There is a green coin challenge to get an iceflower but really its
gonna put you in harm's way a lot and is not worth it.

All of the star coins are going to involve running up to a walrus and jumping
over them. Unfortunately this means running and jumping right into the spot
where they can most easily assault you. Try to fake them out before going for
the coins.

*STAR COINS*

1. This is on the left side of the tower and near the first bad walrus.

2. This is on the right side of the tower and near a later bad walrus.

3. This is on the left side of the tower and near another bad walrus.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* On the right side of the tower near the bad walrus near the 2nd
star coin.

-------------------------
UNDER CONSTRUCTION [1105]
-------------------------

This level has platforms that mysteriously appear and then disappear. I think
there was an earlier level that did this maybe? Well this is sort of different
and has an annoying sound effect. Don't go jumping ahead of the platforms.
Jump when it is safe but also don't fall behind.

*STAR COINS*

1. above the second platform and encased in bricks. Break it out with your
head.

2. This one is easy to spot between some bricks and it is obvious that you
have to slide down and walljump back up.

3. A couple of platforms after the last coin there are some coins floating
around an empty square that turns out to be an invisiblock with a beanstalk
inside that will take you up to this coin.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* The area with the third star coin has a snessy pixeluigi.

----------------------
FIRE BAR SPRINT [1106]
----------------------

This level is full of giant firebars that slowly get in your way and hardly
compel one to 'sprint' at all but I guess that's what you gotta do. Run and
don't think very hard. Did you know that you can duck while running over spaces
between bricks? Wierd, huh?

*STAR COINS*

1. Just jump at this coin that is in your path.

2. Just jump at this coin that is on your path.

3. Do a groundpound at the end of the level if you can.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* Also groundpound the bricks in front of the flagpole to reveal
this guy.

--------------------
CLOUDY CAPERS [1107]
--------------------

You spend most of this level riding around in the cloudguy's cloudride and
avoiding fuzzies. Easy breezy. Pick up a fireflower to dispatch any unwanted
enemies. More cloudmen will spawn every so often but there is a little
warning before they do and they are easily sent earthbound with your fire
magic. You need to take the new clouds because your old clouds disappear after
a little time. It is easy enough to float between most of these enemies but
at the end the safe corridor gets narrow so don't rush it because there is no
ground before that flagpole.

*STAR COINS*

1. Use a cloud and a fireflower to get into the first fuzzyring.

2. This one is being guarded by some railriding fuzzies who are also very
flammable.

3. This one is in another section of railfuzzies but they are a little faster
and exactly as flammable as before.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* This guy is behind a fuzzy near the end of the level.

---------------------------
IMPOSSIBLE PENDULUMS [1108]
---------------------------

This is the final real secret level so you should expect it to be hellaciously
difficult. For this last hurrah you're going to have to run under swinging
pendulums of spikeyball things and you're going to have to run with exceptional
timing and precision. Like serious you have to start moving just as the path is
becoming clear and do short hops and get out just in the nick of time.

*STAR COINS*

1. This coin is being guarded by an upwards facing spikeyball and you can jump
over it and over the platform in the middle to fall down to the right.

2. This coin is in the middle of a red coin challenge and it is easy and safe
to slip off of the platform in between two spikeyballs and fall to this coin.

3. This coin is in the second area and it is in a circle of swinging spikes
so just at the right time to get it.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* At the end of the first area you can go into a fake wall on the
right to find this pixeluigi.

------------------------------
FLYING SQUIRREL OVATION [1109]
------------------------------

You need to complete every other level to unlock this one. It's a dreamy
breezy little level meant to ease you out of this game.

You spend this level in an acorn suit and just sort of glide downwards towards
completion. There are bricks and a couple of squirrels falling around too, and
some blocks that will eventually form a giant pixeluigi. And then at the end
of the level there is a big 'thank you' sign with a cutout for your luigi's
head to go in. Isn't that neat?

Oh, and there's one other thing. You can't play as nabbit in this level
because you need a squirrel getup and he can't wear them, so if you are playing
nabbit then in this level you'll play as a Mii instead.

*STAR COINS*

1. This is in a ring of bricks that falls relatively early on.

2. This one appears after some coinrings and then it gets on a track and makes
you chase after it. You'll catch up to it eventually so don't do anything
reckless like dive or groundpound down.

3. This coin is hiding behind a cloud but if you try to get it then it will
move a little bit.

*HIDDEN LUIGI* A big pixeluigi at the end of the level.
