------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------[ Megaman X8 Custom Soundtrack Tutorial ] -------------------- ------------------------------[by AMan999 ]------------------------------------ ---------------------------------[ PC ]---------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- The Lowdown =========== Self-explanatory. I'm trying to get a playlist of my choice into the game. NOTE: Custom soundtracks only work for the PC port. Without modding the disc itself, I don't think it's possible for the original PS2 version. Be sure to keep a backup of the original music files! Or buy the CD. ------------------------------------------ What do you notice about the game's music? ========================================== "But doesn't this game have great music?" It does. Buuuuuuuut... The game's music files are listed as ".ogg" files. This means that you can EASILY put your music in the game by taking tunes of your choice from your CDs or MP3s, convert the song of your choice to .ogg format (best way to do so is to go to conversion-tool.com/pitch, upload the file, and then rename the file. The songs are as follows (file names taken from file directory, song names and track numbers from OST CD): 2dd01: 46. Demo (Deepening Mystery) 2dd02: 47. Demo (Sorrow) 2dd03: 48. Intermission [Hunter Select] ---------------------------- How to replace music tracks? ============================ 1. Identify the song you want to change. The example I'll go with is the title screen music. 2. Go to the game's file directory. Mine is "C:/Program Files (x86)/CAPCOM/MEGAMANX8". There should be a folder called "ogg". 3. Find the song you want to change, as identified by my list above. 4. Convert a song of your choice to .ogg format. I'll say the song "The Reluctant Heroes" from the Attack on Titan Original Soundtrack. 5. Rename the file so that it matches the one in the game's ogg folder. 6. Replace the old song with whatever you just converted. 7. Start up the game and enjoy your new music! 8. Rinse and repeat for how many songs you like.
