The Legend of the Saiya-jin Densetsu The Legend of the Saiya-jin Densetsu means, in plain English, The Legend of the Super Saiyan. If you've never heard of Dragonball Z or whatever, I suggest you leave right now. Because if you don't, reading this will be like reading a different language. Ah, and if you want to read this to help you gore the bosses, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the game first. No, that's not what I meant! I meant that if I say "item card" or "Gohan card" or "fireball card" or "Moon/Tail item card" or anything like that, you have to know what I'm talking about. The game's in Japanese, so I don't really know the game well, only the basic elements. Oh, yeah, and goring the bosses. Ah, yes, and you also need to know the attacks well. I'll tell you, if I know, which one the attack is on the fireball card menu. For example, I know that Gohan's Masenko attack is the second attack on his fireball menu list. But, for TienShinHan's 4 Man Attack, I don't know which is which, so you'll have to figure it out for yourself. But, usually, use the one that uses the most KI. But, keep in mind that against the bosses, it misses about 90% of the time. If you know what I'm talking about, good, then let's proceed. I kind of liked this game. Technically, it's an RPG. But, the computer decides way too much things, like whether you succeed or fail, whether you hit or miss, whether you can do this or can't do this. The boss battles are VERY hard and VERY long. It will make you sit on the edge of your chair, only to watch your players die, one by one by one. But, through all that, this game's pretty cool. As I mentioned before, the worst thing about this game is that the bosses are very hard. I mean, this all depends on your definition of hard. If a boss has 200 HP and the majority of your fighters gives his 1 damage with each attack, while HE kills in one hit with each attack, that's hard to me. But, if you have a better definition, use it, and see if I care. But, I digress... Well, anyway, you get the idea. So I'm going to walk you through beating, goring, tormenting, torturing, and tearing up the bosses. Not to mention cutting his chest open and using a very sharp stick to poke at his heart and pull it out, and then making sure he lives long enough to see it stop beating..... The Battle against Radditsu, brother against brother. Hit Points: 200 Ki Energy: 32 Battle Power: 1500 This battle is easy. But first, train to Level 4. Or, if you want, Level 5. But, training to Level 5 takes long. VERY long. So, I wouldn't suggest it. But, then again, it's all up to you. Anyway, when you're ready, go find Mr. Popo's house. Just walk through all the houses. You'll find him sometime. Anyway, there are 4 or 5 Saibamen in there. Kill them. Then Mr. Popo will give you the Gohan card. Now, step out of the house, please. Radditz will challenge you. The very first round, use the Gohan card, then choose Goku. Then have Piccolo attack with a normal card. The next round, Goku will grab on to Radditz, thus, making Piccolo free to use the Makankosappo to kill both Goku and Radditz. In case you don't now how to use this, just choose a fireball card. The Makankosappo (beam cannon attack) is the second attack, the one that takes up 15 KI. Use it and watch Radditz and Goku die. The Battle with the Saiyan Prince Vegeta-san's partner, Nappa. Hit Points: 220 Ki Energy: 68 Battle Power: 4000 This battle is pretty hard. First, find Krillin, TienShinHan, Chao-Z, and Yamucha as quickly as you can. If you dawdle, then they will go on and fight against Nappa on their own. Not only do they do nothing against Nappa, they die a horrible, bloody death. So, try to hurry? Now, do your best against the green Saibamen that are planted. Then, Nappa attacks. If you get any fireball cards, make TienShinHan use his 4 Man Attack. It never misses, and it does some decent damage to Nappa. Use the Kaiosama cards on your most powerful player. There's actually no real strategy against this guy. But, if Goku shows up before you fight Nappa, then this battle should be simple. War against Prince Vegeta-san. Hit Points: 240 Ki Energy: 100 Battle Power: 18000 If Goku didn't show up, just do your best against Vegeta. But don't use the Moon-Tail to turn Gohan into a giant ape until Goku shows up. But, if you are badly hurt with only a couple of healing cards, use it to save your butt. When Goku arrives, he'll take Vegeta to another part of the land to fight. Memorize the way he flies, to make it easier to find him later. When you battle, use a fireball card and power up to Kaioken times 2. It's the last one on the menu. Then, when you get another fireball card, use it and use the last attack. This is the Genki Dama. Which, in English, means the Spirit Bomb. Each time you attack, it'll give you a couple of choices. One asks you if you want to keep up the Kaioken times 2. Choose yes (the top one) but make sure you have at least 40 KI before you do. Then, the next choice asks you if you want to hold the Spirit Bomb or throw it. Choose to throw it. Oh yeah, and I don't know the order of the choices. Maybe the Spirit Bomb one is first. I have no idea. Anyway, the Spirit Bomb will either give Vegeta a lot of damage or kill him. If it just gives him a lot of damage, a couple of punches at Kaioken times 2 and a couple of punches from Gohan at Giant-ape level will kill him. To kill or be killed, that is the question against Kiwi. Hit Points: 220 Ki Energy: 100 Battle Power: 22000 My answer? Dent Kiwi's armor with Kiwi in it so he feels great pain, then blow his head off with a giant Masenko blast. Unfortunately, you cannot do this so easily in this game. Since Kiwi attacks you after you get out of a cave after you get a Dragonball within the cave, you should walk around and train until you're pretty strong. Then get the Dragonball and get out of the cave. On this battle, don't use the Vegeta item card! Later, in the battle against Dodoria, Vegeta will be a great help. If you don't have him then...then YOU'RE armor will be dented with you in it so YOU feel great pain and then YOU'RE head will be blown off with a mouth blast. So, now, just keep going against him. Heal when needed, and then use the most powerful KI blast that your group members have. The fat, ugly, disgusting, yet powerful pink warty slug, Dodoria. Hit Points: 288 Ki Energy: 120 Battle Power: 22000 Did I mention the Vegeta item card earlier? Use it in the first round. Vegeta won't give him much damage, but his fireball attacks kick slug butt when they hit. You won't be able to control Vegeta, but he can fight on his own. He's a BIG boy now! Anyway Dodoria, as mentioned before, is very powerful. So train and train until you can train no longer. Then find the ship you came to Namek in. Dodoria will destroy the ship. To fight, just have your most powerful member use the most powerful fireball and pray it hits. Vegeta will take care of the rest. Zarbon, the blue-green reptile that wears jewels. Hit Points: 232 Ki Energy: 160 Battle Power: 23000 Hit Points: 232 Ki Energy: 160 Battle Power: 32000 (Zarbon's second transformation) Really, the first Zarbon isn't very hard to beat. But the second- transformation Zarbon is hard to beat. This time Vegeta is actually with you. But don't have him use fireball cards. If you do, he will ignore you and look out into the sky. Then you've wasted a valuable fireball card, haven't you? Also remember this. Vegeta attacks twice per round. This was very angering when he was fighting you, but now it's kind of cool. If the one of the attacks turn out to be a fireball attack, and it hits, that's pretty helpful. So, just let Vegeta use the normal cards, and Gohan use any fireball cards if you get them. The first detachment of the Ginyu Squad: Recoome and Guldo. Hit Points: 364 Ki Energy: 200 Battle Power 65000 (Recoome) Hit points: 296 Ki Energy: 270 Battle Power: 13500 (Guldo) All right, you can do this one of two ways. Guldo, the short green guy, isn't like most bosses. Fireballs now hit him 50% of the time and not just 10%. Unfortunately, fireballs almost never hit Recoome, the huge guy. So, you can take out Guldo and then throw the ultimate might of your team on Recoome and hope fireballs hit, or you can first take out Recoome so you won't have to worry about him and then enjoy a nice, easy battle. But destroying Recoome isn't easy, for he can kill in one hit and you can only give him a puny amount of damage. Also, there's another Ginyu Squad battle after this, so you can't just use up healing cards, etc. So, this battle is very hard. Sorry, but no real help here. A last-ditch detachment of the Ginyu Squad, Burter and Jeice. Hit Points: 322 Ki Energy: 230 Battle Power: 64000 (Jeice) Hit Points: 305 Ki Energy: 200 Battle Power: 62500 (Burter) Well, if you managed to defeat Recoome and Guldo, you now have to face the next two members. But, here you only have to take one member out. The other will wimp out and fly off to warn Captain Ginyu of your awesome battle skills and battle power. But, you'll have to fight the guy that you didn't kill later, when you fight Captain Ginyu, so, again, you can do this one of two ways. You can kill the one that's stronger first so you won't have to worry about him when you're battling Captain Ginyu. Or, you can kill the weaker one to save your butt because of the battle with Recoome and Guldo, and get the battle over with so you can heal up and stock up to fight. Either way, one guy will escape, so don't bother trying to take out both of them. Battle with the Captain himself: Mr. Body-Change, Captain Ginyu. Hit Points: 396 Ki Energy: 300 Battle Power: 120000 Vegeta should be pretty strong now, if you trained him after the battle with Burter and Jeice. So you can now take out the other member of the Ginyu Squad that escaped earlier easily with Vegeta. Let the other members fight Ginyu. Now, you'll have Goku to battle Ginyu. If you want to use the Genki Dama, don't hold it too long. If you get Ginyu to just a thread of his health, he'll do body change with Goku. So, kill him quickly. Frieza, the leader of the space pirates stage one. Hit Points: 500 Ki Energy: 360 Battle Power: 530000 Now, this battle is kinda hard. But, if you hold out until Goku joins the fight, you should be fine. Hold out for one round. Careful, since Frieza can give 200+ damage with one hit, and, as usual, weak party members will give him 1 damage, which won't be very helpful. But, after one or two rounds you will control Piccolo and he could fuse with Nail and join the battle, having a power level of a million plus. Then, Goku will join the battle. When Frieza gets beaten into a third of his HP level, he will transform into stage two. Frieza, leader of the space pirates now huge and beastly, literally. Hit Points: 520 Ki Energy: 360 Battle Power: 1000000 Now, have a pretty weak character die against Frieza intentionally. But hey, who needs to be intentional? Oh, yeah, and don't let it be Vegeta or you'll miss out on the *real* final event. Anyway, after the guy dies, the next time you choose Goku to fight he will get mad. And everyone here knows what happens when a strong, pure-hearted, battling Saiyan does when he gets mad---his hair turns golden, his eyes turn green, he flares with power.....what does that sound like to you? Ding! Correct! A SUPER SAIYAN! Now, I'm not sure about this, but I would do this at the final battle with Frieza and not now, because if you do it now you might not be able to do it later. I did it in the final battle, the one with Frieza at stage four. I've read in other walkthroughs that you can do it when Frieza is in stage two, but I don't know. Anyway, with Goku and Piccolo beating up Frieza, he should die pretty soon. Well, not die, he teleports to somewhere else. Walk around in the area, and you'll fight battles. After fighting about 10 battles, Frieza will call you and tell you to meet up with him on some island so he can beat you up. Frieza, now huge and terrifying, with a long head and a long BP. Hit Points: 500 Ki Energy: 400 Battle Power: 1550000 Well, here we go again. You should have prepared yourselves good for this battle. Just keep attacking, healing, etc. After you just about defeat Frieza at his third stage, he transforms again. Aren't you getting tired of his transformations by now? Well, you'll be happy to hear this is his last one. I don't know about you, but I think it hard to believe that the huge beastly Friezas at stage 2 and 3 is less powerful than the little sleek purple-white guy at stage 4. Namek's destruction is imminent: Frieza at his final stage. Hit Points: 600 approx. Ki Energy: Who knows? Battle Power: I have no clue, but you can bet it's high. I hope you have fireball cards, and if you do, let Goku use the Genki Dama with them. Or you can let Piccolo use them. Either way, pray that the fireballs hit. Now, I'll remind you of that trick I mentioned earlier, the one about Frieza killing a guy and Goku going Super? Now's the time to use it, even if you did it earlier. Try anyways. If it works, good for you! If it doesn't, hold out and pray that you get lucky and win. If you didn't do the code earlier, it should work. Now Goku is stronger than Frieza and now his fireballs don't miss as much anymore. Well, use Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo to blow Frieza into oblivion. Be sure to keep your strongest characters alive, as you'll need them for the final fight-that is, if you performed the Super Saiyan trick at Frieza stage 4 and Vegeta's still alive at the end. I don't know if there are any other requirements, but oh well. Prince Vegeta-san's dream come true: Now at Super Saiya-jin. Hit Points: 1500 Ki Energy: Again, who knows? Battle Power: 6000000 Huh? Another boss? Oh, it's Vegeta. Well, now that Goku's Super Saiyan this'll be easy. WRONG!!! Now, Vegeta's battle power is 6 million and he has 1500 hit points. He deals only 60 damage when he hits Goku, but to the other guys he kills in one hit, and then some. If you do manage to beat him, you get to see the *real* ending. I've never seen it because I've never beaten Vegeta at Super Saiyan. For all I know, the only way to beat him is if I zap into the game and give him 4500 damage with my Fire Blast. But, today's technology doesn't enable us to do that. So, if anyone beats Super Vegeta out there, be sure to write a Boss Faq about how to beat him and post it on Gamefaqs, Gamesages, or somewhere where I can get ahold of it. Now, about the copyright thing. I'm just a kid, so I don't know anything about copyrighting walkthroughs that you put on the Net. If you want to post this on your page, go ahead and see if I care. But don't take credit for yourself. If you want to give credit, give it to either "Charmander" or "Anonymous Author", since I don't want to chance it that someone who reads this knows my email and spreads it around so people can email me and tell me this Boss Faq is the worst they've read.
