It is the second of three games released for Super Famicom, and was never released here. From what I hear the show is also popular in Hawaii, and reruns are still being shown today. The main character of Crayon Shinchan 2: Daimaou no Gyakushuu is a kindergarten student named Nohara Shinnosuke (the 'crayon' part comes from the badly drawn crayon-style drawings), and features Shinchan's friends Nana, Bo, Masao, and Kazama. The object of the game is to release Shinchan's hero, Action Kamen, from the prison Haiguremaou the daimaou has placed him in. It's not much fun, but it is pretty screwed up. People unfamiliar to Shinchan should get a kick out of it, and those who love the little brat should have even more fun. -------- Contents -------- 1. Characters 2. Title Menu 3. Items 4. Walkthrough -------------- Stage 1: Oranchi Kill the two cockroaches by jumping on them. Crawl under the table to get behind the furniture and kill two more cockroaches. Go into the sliding door and walk to the right. Kill a cockroach and go under the bed. Go back up and enter the door on the right. Kill two cockroaches and go under the table. Kill two more cockroaches. Exit the screen to the left and kill two more. Jump on the elephant springboard and kill the next pair of cockroaches. Pick up the dog house. This will send you to the first boss. BOSS: Gokiburi Masaokun Masao will run around the edges of the screen throwing peppers at you. You can either jump on him 5 times or you can pick up the peppers when they come to a complete stop and throw them back at him, which is worth two hits. When you beat him, walk up to him and you will get the first orb to unlocking Action Kamen's cell. Stage 2: Park If you go straight ahead off of the elephant slide you can get two credits and a 1-Up, but then you will have to jump across some pits and run across a bridge to get to the monkey bars. An alternate way of doing this is to jump up the clouds at the start. To the left on the clouds is a machine that you can use some of your credits on. Just keep pressing the item button until you get one you want. When you go to the right, jump on the bum and keep going. Get a running start to get over the big gap and jump as soon as you hit the wooden platforms because they're going to fall. Continue on and grab the elephant to slide down to the monkey bars. Use the moving platform to get over the last pit, kill the last bum and jump in the transporter. BOSS: Branjaa I have no idea who this guy is, but he throws bras and hammers at you for his attack. Four panels on the floor will flash, and he will come out of whichever one the flashing stops on. If a bra hits you, Shinchan won't be able to see for a while and you won't be able to control him. His hammers will hit you too. Jump on him 6 times to kill him. Grab the second orb and you're done. Stage 3: Action Youchien Kill three robots and then follow Shiro into the box by standing on it and pressing down. This'll lead you to a key. Go back to the start and continue right. Kill two robots and go down (if you didn't get the key, this would be locked). Outside, kill two bums, go under the bushes, kill three bums, and follow Shiro into the pipe. Get the chalk from Shiro in the next screen to go to the next boss. BOSS: Robo Kazamakun Avoid the chalk brushes he throws at you until he comes off off the chalkboard. You can also jump on them to get rid of them. When he comes down he can also charge at you with punches. Jump on him 8 times to beat him and grab the third orb. BONUS GAME: In this bonus game you will control Shiro. Make sure you pick the first option (yaru) instead of the second one (yaranai) or you won't be able to play. Shinchan will throw either bones or fish skeletons at you. You get one minute to catch as many bones as you can. Every 5 bones you catch you'll get a 1-Up, but avoid the fish skeletons because they'll stun you for a second. Shinchan might also throw 1-Ups on their own too. Stage 4: Haigure no Ajito Go right, kill three ducks and a bum, and crawl down under the wall. Kill five more ducks, a bum, a mackine that looks like a mushroom, and go into the transporter. BOSS: Panchirasu (pink) & Panchirasu (green) Two dinosaurs will show up, a pink one and a green one. The pink one will throw out little dinosaurs and the green one will shoot bubbles at you, which will capture you for a few seconds. Jump on them four times each to beat them and grab the fourth orb. When you beat the dinosaurs, three doors will appear. The first one leads to a space level, the middle to a house, and the third to an underwater level. You have to play them all, so it doesn't really matter which on you pick first. Space - This level works kind of like swimming in Mario games, press the jump button to 'swim' up. If you press the dash button you will burst forward for a second. You can kill guys with this, but you will be stunned for a bit after and you'll fall for a bit, but if you hit the jump button quickly you can get out of it. Here you can get hit by jellyfish, the stone heads of Bo, and shooting stars. When you get to the end, Bochan will come out as a butterfly and shoot bubbles that say 'ri' on them. Dash at him 5 times and he will let go of the fifth orb. House - Nenechan will come out immediately and start dropping fake little Shinchans on you. You can either jump on her, or you can jump on the Shinchans and throw the cockroach they leave at her. She'll leave after you hit her once. Go under the table and into the door on the right to chase her. Jump on her again and go into the door on the right. Jump on her twice in the next room (or hit her with one cockroach, they're worth two hits), go under the table, and continue left. Hit her with a cockroach or jump on her twice to beat her, then get the sixth orb. Water - Here you will take control of an elephant sub which shoots balls when you press the dash button. Watch out for squids, torpedos and faces that shoot lasers in this level. When you get to two tubes, take the bottom one to get a 1-Up. At the second set of tubes, take the bottom one to avoid getting hit by a swimming bum. Continue on and take the bottom tube on the next set to get another 1-Up. Continue to the end. Robo Kazamakunkai will attack you in a sub of his own. He will first shoot single shots at you until you hit him 4 times, when he'll start shooting in eight different directions. After you hit him 7 times he'll throw out a ball at you, then 10 times will finish him off. Grab the last orb. After you beat each of the doors, you will be taken to the last part of the game. Crawl up and kill a duck, crawl down and kill two bums and a robot mushroom, and three ducks. You can either crawl up the second hole to get to a credits machine, or you can just continue on by crawling into the third one. Kill three ducks, crawl down, kill the bum, and jump on to the transporter. BOSS: Haiguremaou The time of reckoning! Haiguremaou will float down from the sky and start letting out different enemies you have fought throughout the game. If you jump on him 3 times his mask will break off and he will start to shoot lightning down from the sky. Jump on him 7 more times to defeat him. Congratulations! You have defeated the evil king and released Action Kamen. At the end of the game it will give you your final play time; send it to me and I will add it to the list of best times at the bottom of the FAQ. --------- 5. Thanks to Bandai for making the best Shinchan game around. It's not saying much, but the other ones kind of blow. Christopher Amis ICQ UIN: 1206297 amiscw@mcmaster.ca
