Sword Weapons II. Axe Weapons III. Spear Weapons IIII. Bow Weapons V. Magic Weapons 3: Credits ************************************************************************ Hey, Eaichu250 speakin here. I'm attemping to write a complete guide(this guide covers weapons) for Fire Emblem 3, since it is on major demand, plus the fact that it is one of my favorite games of all time. Okay, this guide is meant to tell you which weapons are useful, and the uses and special effects of certain weapons. Fire Emblem 3 is 100% Japanese. No verisons of this game were released in the states. It's one of the best Strategy-RPG's ever made(IMHO) and that fact alone wants me to write an FAQ for this. I hope this FAQ will answer all the questions and such you have, if you have any more questions, don't be afraid to nail me at - lowlyeaichu@hotmail.com Now, on with the FAQ! - Eaichu250 ************************************************************************ X - Small Summary In this FAQ, you'll be seeing the stats of a weapon. This is what each stat is capable of doing - "Attack Power -" This combined with the unit's total strength score will make up to his attack power. Like for instance, Marth equipped with the Miracle Sword and having a Strength score of 8 will make his attack power in battle 28. Damage done to an enemy is caculated by, Your total attack power - Enemies Defense level = Damage done. "Durability -" This is an important trait for a weapon. Each time you hit an enemy with a weapon equipped, the weapons durability will go down by 1 point. Once your weapon's durability is down to 1 point and you hit another enemy with it, the weapon will break, making it almost worthless. "Hit Chance -" This combined with your skill stat will make up your total hit chance in battle. This is how your hitting chance in battle is caculated - Weapon hit chance + Skill Stat - Enemy Speed stat = Total hitting chance. "Berserk Chance -" This combined with your total skill stat(?!?!) will make up your critical hit rate in battle increase. A berserk hit does double the normal damage, and is a very powerful move. The royal weapons(Miracle Sword, Gradius, and Partia) can cut the enemies berserk rate in half. Berserk Chance of weapon + Skill Stat = Total berserk chance in battle - Royal Weapons Effect(if one is equipped by the enemy, vice versa) 2: Weapons Guide Summary - Okay, every unit in Fire Emblem 3 must have a weapon. Without weapons, you cannot fight, or be able to counter attack and such. Having up to date weapons are important, and having the strongest of each common weapon is a complete nessacarey to top it off. This guide will help you on what each weapon can do, it's strength, usuability and other stuff. Weakest weapons will be at the top of the list, and the strongest will go down to the bottom. Another note: Some weapons require a certain weapon skill to equip. As you use your weapons in battle and fight a lot, your weapon skill will increase. Once you have a high enough amount of weapon skill, you will be able to equip better and stronger weapons. Sword Weapons - Swords can be equipped by the following classes - Lord - Dancer - Merceanary - (Promoted from Merceanary) Hero - Knights(Social Knight dismounted) - Commando - Thief Swords are light fast weapons, you will usually pull two attacks with a sword equipped, and the damage is above average. Swords are melee weapons only, so swords can only attack up to a range of 1 square. ************************************************************************ I. Sword Weapon List - Iron Sword: The Iron Sword is the weakest sword, this sword can be equipped by anybody, and it has the second highest Durability of all the sword weapons. Basically, this weapon is the weakest, and shouldn't be used for too long. Attack Power - 5 power Durability - 42 hits Hit Chance - 90% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 1 Weapon cost - 420 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Steel Sword: The Steel Sword is a pretty decent sword, it's attack power is average. And it has pretty decent Durability and hit rate. The cost is low to top it off, so it's the ideal weapon for anybody that dosent have a above-average sword skill. Attack Power - 8 Durability - 38 Hit Chance - 80% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 2 Weapon cost - 760 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Silver Sword: Wow, the Silver Sword is a pretty powerful weapon. The attack power is pretty high, and the hit rate is simply fantastic. The Durability is somewhat low, however. And for people that wish to equip the weapon must have a pretty high sword skill. Somewhat costy to top it off. But, it is one of the best weapons in the game. Attack Power - 12 Durability - 20 Hit Chance - 90% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 9 Weapon cost - 2000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Killer Sword: The Killer Sword has the same strength as the Steel Sword, but with a higher hit rate and gives you a 20% extra chance of landing a critcal hit. The Durability and the average weapon level required to equip it might not be too suprising, but it is also one of the best common weapons in the game. Attack Power - 8 Durability - 22 Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 20% Weapon Level - 7 Weapon Cost - 1100 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Armor Cutter: The Armor Cutter is a heavy, and somewhat weak sword. The attack power is pretty low, the Durability isnt too suprising, and you can rarely attack twice with the nasty thing equipped. The sword is easy to equip, and it has one amazing perk to it. The Armor Cutter can SLICE through any armored unit like it was made out of butter or something. This is a very useful weapon when fighting Generals or Armored units. Otherwise, just try to avoid using it against anything else. Attack Power - 6 Durability - 20 Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 3 Weapon Cost - 1000 Gold Pieces Does double damage to Armored units. ************************************************************************ Rapier: The Rapier is a light, weak weapon. It gives a small boost to your Berserk chance, and it can slice through Social Knights and Armored Units like those things have almost no defense at all. However, the Rapier can only be equipped by Marth, and Fina. The Rapier is one of the most useful weapons in the game, for Armored Units and Social Knights are very common enemies. Attack Power - 5 Durability - 30 Hit Chance - 90% Berserk Chance - 10% Weapon Level - 1(only Marth and Fina can equip it) Weapon Cost - 2400 Gold Pieces Does double damage to Social Knights and Armored units. ************************************************************************ Devil Sword: The Devil Sword is a heavy, and extremely powerful weapon. It's one of the better swords in the game, it's hit rate is decent, and the attack power is VERY high. However, the Durability and the chance of hurting yourself while using this weapon is a bad deal for itself. If you think your lucky, you can go ahead and use this weapon. But the chance of killing yourself by just attacking is simply one of the reasons to not use this weapon. Attack Power - 18 Durability - 19 Hit Chance - 80% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 1 Weapon Cost - 1900 Gold Pieces There is a chance of damaging the user in battle. ************************************************************************ Thunder Sword: Heheh, I seem to hate this weapon with a passion. The Thunder Sword is a medium weight and weak weapon. It has a decent Durability score, and the hit chance is decent. The damage is does is ALWAYS 10 damage, and the damage is magic based, meaning it cancels out defense, but not magic defense. However, due to the fact it ALAWYS does 10 damage is quite annoying, but it's good for using against low-HP enemies that have no magic defense. Attack Power - (Always does 10 damage) Durability - 28 Hit Chance - 90% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 8 Weapon Cost - 1400 Gold Pieces Can attack from 2 square range as opposed to 1. ************************************************************************ Dragon Killer: Ah ha. This is one of the most useful weapons in the game, the attack power is decent, and the Durability is low. The hit chance is fine, and it isnt too hard to equip. However, even though the weapon's stats are somewhat low, this sword has a VERY useful purpose. It gets a double-attack bonus against Dragons and Dragon Knights, this in whole, is VERY useful towards the end of the game, where you run into nothing but Dragons. And since Dragon Knights seem to have such high Defense, this is also a perfect sword for killin 'em in one hit... Attack Power - 10 Durability - 16 Hit Chance - 80% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 7 Weapon Cost - 1600 Gold Pieces Attack doubles against Dragon's and Dragon Knights. ************************************************************************ Lady Sword: Woah, this is easily one of the best swords in the game. The attack power is high, it has decent Durability, the hit chance is PERFECT. And it also gives a slight boost to doing a berserk attack. It can only be equipped by female characters, and it gets a good attack bonus against Pirates, Thieves, Vikings and Raiders. It's a very useful sword. Attack Power - 12 Durability - 25 Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 10% Weapon Level - 1(can only be equipped by female characters) Weapon Cost - 1000 Gold Pieces Attack doubles against Thief, Pirate, Viking, and Raider classes. Can only be equipped by female characters. ************************************************************************ Miracle Sword: Clear the way, insanely powerful sword coming through. This is the Miracle Sword, it's a royal weapon, and it has EXTREMELY high stats for everything. The attack power is amazingly high, it always usually hits enemies. And to top it off, it gives you double experince when it's equipped in battle. You get it somewhat late in the game, but it's still a very useful sword. Give this to your best swordsman, and you'll have a pile of dead enemies. Attack Power - 20 Durability - 24 Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 12 Weapon Cost - 24,000 Gold Pieces Gives double experince points in battle. Easily one of the best weapons in the game. ************************************************************************ Master Sword: This is also one of the best swords in the game. It has good attack power, good Durability and hit rate. And it gives you an AMAZING bonus to berserk. Which means you'll be landing berserk hits a lot more. Use this weapon, you wont regret it. Attack Power - 12 Durability - 25 Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 30% Weapon Level - 12 Weapon Cost - 10,000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Sword Killer: A pretty weak sword, it dosent have much uses and it misses a lot. I don't even think you can get in the game(I'm not sure), but it gets a bonus against Merc's and Hero classes, which is pretty useful. But it's not really useful for anything else. Attack Power - 8 Durability - 12 Hit Chance - 80% Berserk Chance - 0% Weapon Level - 8 Weapon Cost - 2400 Gold Pieces Double attack against Mercinaries and Hero classes. ************************************************************************ Falchion: The Falchion is the sword used by Marth. The Falchion is a heavy, somewhat strong, and has a good hit rate, kind of sword. It can NEVER run out of uses, and it gets an AMAZING attack boost against Dragon enemies. While this sword has good uses, the only person that can use it is Marth. Whom is pretty much a weak fighter all around, and if he gets killed, it's all over. Still, you'll want to have it because it's the only thing capable of doing more than 8 damage to Mediusu. Attack Power - 10 Durability - Infinite Hit Chance - 100% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 0 Weapon Cost - 0 Huge attack bonus against Dragons. Can only be equipped by Marth. Also effective against Mediusu. ************************************************************************ That's every single sword weapon in the game. Now, let's cover the Axe Weapons, shall we? ;] ************************************************************************ Axe Weapons: Axes can be equipped by the following classes: Warrior, Pirate(you don't get any pirates). Axes are terribly heavy weapons, it's very hard to pull two attacks with these weapons. Axes also have a poor hit rate, and Axes don't have much Durability. Shops late in the game also don't sell axes. Very poor weapons, shouldn't really be bothered with. Axes are melee weapons only. ************************************************************************ II. Axe Weapon List - Iron Axe: It's a heavy and somewhat strong weapon. The user usually misses a lot, and it's kinda hard to land two hits against an enemy with it equipped. Pretty much a low end axe. Attack Power: 7 Durability: 43 Hit Rate: 80% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 1 Weapon Cost: 430 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Steel Axe: Pretty much the same as the Iron Axe, except it's even heavier and a little bit more stronger. Did I mention you miss more with it equipped? Attack Power: 9 Durability: 30 Hit Chance: 70% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 2 Weapon Cost: 600 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Hand Axe: Ah ha, this is a pretty useful weapon. You can throw it from a distance, and it has a pretty good attack power. Only problem, is that it USUALLY never hits, and the only people that can equip it have pathetically low skill power... :\ Attack Power: 9 Durability: 15 Hit Chance: 60% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 3 Weapon Cost: 450 Gold Pieces Can be thrown from a 2 square distance. ************************************************************************ Silver Axe: It's a really good axe, but, the Axe Fighters you have will be so weak and pathetic, that you wont even be using 'em anymore by the time you get this axe. However, you CAN sell it for a lot of money, sell sell sell! Attack Power: 15 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance - 0 Weapon Level - 7 Weapon Cost: 10,000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Devil Axe: Wow, it's strong, has a decent hit rate, and gives a good boost to your hit chance. Only problem? It has 9 FRIGGIN uses, it's utterly pathetic. And you can hurt yourself with this thing equipped... :\ Attack Power: 20 Durability: 9 Hit Chance: 70% Berserk Chance - 20% Weapon Level - 1 Weapon Cost - 900 Gold Pieces Has a chance of hurting the user who is equipped this weapon in battle. ************************************************************************ Okie dokie, that's every single Axe weapon in the game. Now for Spears. ************************************************************************ Spear Weapons - The units that can equip spears are - Social Knight - Paladin(Promoted Social Knight) - Armored Knight - General(Promoted Armored Knight) - Pegasus Knight - Dragon Knight(Promoted Pegasus Knight) Spears are heavy(not too heavy), and powerful weapons. Many units in Fire Emblem 3 use spears, and are a very common weapon with the most powerful classes. Spears are melee weapons, only two Spears can be thrown from a distance. ************************************************************************ III. Spear Weapon List: Iron Lance: The ideal spear for the starting of most Fire Emblem games. The spear is somewhat light, and pretty strong too. The hit rate isnt bad either. Pretty much a good spear for the starting of the game. Attack Power: 7 Durability: 38 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 1 Weapon Cost: 380 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Steel Lance: This is also a pretty good spear. The attack power is good, hit rate is better than most, and it's Durability is good too. It's kinda heavy, though. So slow units wont be attacking twice with it too much... Attack Power: 10 Durability: 28 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 2 Weapon Cost: 560 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Javelin: This is a throwing spear, meaning you can throw it from a distance, instead of having to attack up close and personal. It's semi-strong, but it's heavy, and hard to hit with at times. It's useful for some situations, however... Attack Power: 8 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 70% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 3 Weapon Cost: 600 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Thin Lance: This is a VERY light spear, it's power isnt too high. But it has a good number of uses, and the user usually attacks twice with it. Let's also note it gives a small bonus to Berserk, which is ALWAYS very helpful. Attack Power: 5 Durability: 30 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 5 Weapon Level: 1 Weapon Cost: 450 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Silver Spear: This is a really strong spear, it has very good attack power. A good hitting chance, and a decent number of uses. This is one of the best spears for any spear user. Attack Power: 12 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 9 Weapon Cost: 1600 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Killer Lance: This is a good spear too. The attack is pretty decent, and it has a REALLY good hitting chance. It gives a 20% plus to your chance of landing a berserk hit, which is extremely helpful. Use and abuse this spear when you get the chance, it's a VERY good spear. Attack Power:9 Durability:24 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 20 Weapon Level: 7 Weapon Cost: 1200 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Gradius: Say hello to the best Spear in the entire game. The Gradius has MASSIVE attack power, somewhat bad Durability(use with the blue Hoshi Orb), and it has a nearly perfect hit rate. Did I mention it CUTS the opponents Berserk rate in HALF? Meaning that the dude your fighting has less chance of landing a Berserk hit against you. And it also gives you double experince in battle if you have it equipped. Easily the best Spear weapon. Attack Power: 20 Durability: 18 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 12 Weapon Cost: 17,000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Okay, that's all the Spear Weapons(I think...o_O) and that wraps it up. ************************************************************************ Bow Weapons: Bow's can be equipped by the following classes: Archer - Sniper(Promoted Archer) - Hunter - Horseman(Promoted Hunter?) Bow's are neither strong, nor heavy. Bow's are very excellent weapons, due to the fact that they are ranged weapons only(meaning you cannot attack from a melee distance). Yet, this works somewhat bad too. Bow's have a perfect hit rate, and most bow users usually max out they're skill rating, which makes bow's excellent weapons for trying to hit people. ;] Bow's always get a double attack bonus when attacking flyings enemies. ************************************************************************ IIII. Bow Weapon List - Iron Bow: This is a decent bow. Hit rate is fine, and the power isn't too bad either. It lasts for a long time, and it's light. However, if you find a better bow, quickly pass this klutz up. =O Attack Power: 6 Durability: 33 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 1 Weapon Cost: 330 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Steel Bow: This is a stronger, yet somewhat heavier version of the Iron Bow. It's hard to land two hits in a row with this equipped, but it's stronger than it's earlier version. Attack Power: 9 Durability: 28 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 3 Weapon Cost: 580 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Silver Bow: This is one of the best bow's in the entire game. It has a perfect hit rate, it's pretty powerful, and it's light too. All you need is a semi-high weapon level to equip it. One of the best bows. Attack Power: 12 Durability: 22 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 7 Weapon Cost: 2200 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Killer Bow: This is a pretty good bow, depending on how skilled the user of the weapon is. This is as strong as the Iron Bow, but it gets a good boost to a unit's berserk chance, which means, you have a greater chance of pulling off a Berserk hit. This is a perfect bow for people with a high skill rating. Attack Power: 6 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 20 Weapon Level: 6 Weapon Cost: 1000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Partia: This is the best bow in the game. Period, it has a perfect hit rate, max attack power, and it gives you double experince, and cuts the opponents berserk rate in half in battle. If you don't like this bow, your insane. ;] Attack Power: 20 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 12 Weapon Cost: 17,000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Heheh, that's all the bow's in the game right there. Now let's get onto the magic spells and such. ************************************************************************ Elemental Spells: Classes that can use Magic: Magician, Priest(he/she can use staves too... =O) Sage(Promoted Magician) Magic is both melee and ranged type weaponary. Most spells are heavy, but many spells are very powerful, due to the fact that not many enemies have any magic defense. It's always helpful to have a mage on your team, for spells are always somewhat strong, and are very helpful. Fire Magic gets a attack bonus against Cold Dragons. Blazer/Ice Magic gets a bonus against flying enemies. Aura and Rezezia can only be used by female mages. ************************************************************************ V. Magic Weapon List - Thunder: This is a decent Thunder spell. It's quite strong compared to the other starting magic, but not by much. This spell adds a little bonus to your Berserk chance in battle, so it's all good. Magic Power: 6 Durability: 21 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 5 Weapon Level: 3 Weapon Cost: 630 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Torron: This is the strongest Thunder spell. It's very powerful, and it adds a pretty good bonus to your berserk rate in battle. The hit rate is perfect, and it's a really good spell for most. Magic Power: 12 Durability: 21 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 10 Weapon Level: 12 Weapon Cost: 2100 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Shaver: This is a wind based type magic. It's not too powerful, but it adds a good amount to the users Berserk rate. And it has the best hitting chance, it also does double damage to flying enemies. Magic Power: 5 Durability: 30 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 20 Weapon Level: 4 Weapon Cost: 1500 Gold Pieces Gets a double attack bonus against flying enemies. ************************************************************************ Graucalibur: This is a wind based type magic. This is one of the best spells in the entire game, it's EXTREMELY light, gives an insane boost to the users berserk rate, and it's pretty powerful to top it off. Only one person can equip this spell. Magic Power: 12 Durability: 25 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 30 Weapon Level: Only Meric can equip this spell. Weapon Cost: 10,000 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Fire: This is fire based magic. It's pretty weak, somewhat heavy, and it's easy to use. It's not one of the best spells, due to it's heaviness, and weak power. It DOES get an advantage against cold enemies, which is somewhat helpful in some parts. So it's not all that bad.. Magic Power: 5 Durability: 25 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 1 Weapon Cost: 500 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Elfire: This is fire based magic. It's somewhat stronger than the other Fire spell, still heavy, somewhat hard to use. It's a little powerful, it has a somewhat low hit rate, though. It also gets a power bonus when fighting cold enemies. Magic Power: 9 Durability: 18 Hit Chance: 80% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 8 Weapon Cost: 900 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Volcannon: This is also fire based magic. It's the strongest out of all the fire magic, but it's heavy and hard to use. It also has a very low hitting chance for some reason, but if you like big power and tons of heaviness, go with this spell. And, it gets a bonus against cold enemies. Magic Power: 13 Durability: 16 Hit Chance: 70% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 14! Weapon Cost: 1950 gold pieces. ************************************************************************ Blizzaiai: This is ice based magic, I think. It's pretty strong, has a fine hit rate, and isn't too hard to use. It's pretty decent, and it dosent have advantages towards anything. Magic Power: 6 Durability: 23 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 5 Weapon Cost: 690 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Aura: This is holy based magic. It dosent get any advantages towards anything, it has a good hit rate, and it's durability is pretty good too, but this isn't what it makes it good. ..Aura has the HIGHEST attack power out of all magic, going all the way up into the 20s for power, this is easily some of the best magic in the game, having the ability to kill enemies in atleast one hit. Only female mages can use this spell Magic Power: 20 Durability: 25 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 0 Weapon Cost: 10,000 Gold Pieces Female mages only! ************************************************************************ Rezizia: This is also holy based magic. It dosent get any advantages towards anything, hit rate is good, and it's pretty powerful to top it off. It can drain HP from enemies and add it into your total HP counter, which is why this is one of the best spells in the game. Magic Power: 12 Durability: 20 Hit Chance: 90% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 0 Weapon Cost: 1 Gold Piece Female mages only. ************************************************************************ Starlight: This is star based magic. No advantages towards anything, except it's the only spell that can damage the evil priest Ganef. The power is decent, but it has barely any uses, and should be saved for ONE point in the game. Without this spell, you cannot obtain the Falchion. You also get a funky background in battle when using it. Magic Power: 12 Durability: 12 Hit Chance: 100% Berserk Chance: 0 Weapon Level: 0 Weapon Cost: 5 Gold Pieces ************************************************************************ Okay, and that's a complete wrap up of every weapon in the entire game.
