Story _____________ In the story mode you'll be using Team Shohoku in the Kanagawa State High School Basketball Championship. Your goal is to qualify for the National Championship by finishing in the top two in the event. #1 Opening Demo: No game is played in the opening scene. This is just an introduction to the main character Sakuragi Hanamichi and the Shohoku Basketball Team. #2 VS Miurada: The game with Miuradai begins with Akagi and the other players without Mitsui, Miyagi, Rukawa and Sakuragi. Senesi Anzai says that they were punished for their recent fight at school. After the four players were inserted into the lineup, Shohoku jumped out to a 42-24 halftime lead. With a huge lead on hand against the worst team in the game, you have nothing to worry about in the second half. #3 VS Tsukubu: Tsukubu's hot three point shooting gives them a 52-40 halftime lead over Shohoku. Shut down their three point shooting and take advantage of their weak inside presence. #4 VS Shoyo: Shoyo's tall lineup is working against Shohoku. Everyone on Shohoku has a height disvantage except for Akagi. Shoyo holds a 31-22 lead going into the second half. You'll be able to catch up pretty fast in the second half. When you take the lead, Fujima, Shoyo's best player, will enter the game. His stop and pop move is impossible to guard, you can only pray for him to miss. This is going to be a tough game. Fight hard on the rebounds and control the paint by blocking shots with Akagi. Utilize Mitsui's three point ability to score a lot of points in a hurry. #5 VS Kainan: It's time to play against the defending champions of Kanagawa! Kainan is loaded with offensive weapons. They have two of the best shooters in the game in Jin and Yoshinori Miyamasu. Nobunga claims to be the best rookie but Maki is the real deal being the MVP. But no matter what the score is after the first half, Shohoku will end up losing the game. (That's the storyline in the manga.) #6 VS Ryonan: This is it, the showdown with Ryonan. The winner of this game will make it to the national championship. Rukawa only scored two points in the first half and Akagi had a slow start because of his sprained ankle. Mitsui's three pointer at the buzzer kept Shohoku close behind 32-26. Ryonan is very similar to Shohoku with Uozumi being a dominant inside presence and Sendoh being the best player their team. Sendoh is even better than Rukawa because of his ability to play with his teammates. During the second half Sendoh will see some action at the point guard position which might cause a mismatch. But Shohoku is the better team and will win this game to make it to the national championships. __________ 3b. VS __________ In the versus mode you can choose to play against the computer or against a second player. You can choose any of the six teams in the game but the two teams cannot be the same. After you have chosen the teams you can set your players and position automatically or manually. ________________ 3c. ALL-STAR ________________ To unlock the ALL-STAR mode, hold R, and press A, Y, B, X. If you entered the code correctly you'll hear "unbelievable ya". The ALL-STAR mode is the same as the versus mode but you can choose any six players for your team, but no player can be chosen twice in the same game. ______________________ 4a.
