Maniro/Manillo Fishing Guide

Introduction

I am writing this guide to save other players time, effort, and items (Gold)
when it comes to knowing what a Maniro sells. I used the SNES version of the
game to check names, locations, and prices, so if you are playing a different
version of Breath of Fire 2 I cannot confirm accuracy in those versions as well.


To make fishing locations easier to see, I suggest using this guide along with
Moggy's world map (on Gamefaqs.com). 

Basic Information

The item of importance for this guide is the item Gold. Likely the first of
these items will be found in Tag Woods. A few others can be found throughout the
game, but most likely you will get more from enemies dropping them. The enemies
that can drop Gold are Devilkid, Mimic, P.Eater, and K.Goblin.

Devilkid enemies can be found in the area around Coursair. 
K.Goblin enemies can be found around Windia and Capitan. 
Mimic enemies can be found in SimaFort, Fog Valley, Namanda, and a few others. 
P.Eater enemies can be found in Memory (Inheart), Fog Valley, and Namanda.

To use the Gold item you need to equip it and a fishing rod on the hero, and
enter a fishing spot. The Gold bait sinks quickly, and does not attract any of
the fish in the game. About 10-15 seconds after you enter the fishing area,
assuming it is one of the areas where they appear, a Maniro will swim through
the area. If/when the Gold bait is in the water they will quickly go for it, so
just reel them in. The fishing screen will close, and on the world map you can
talk to them like a shop keeper. If you enter a town or a battle they will be
gone, so make sure you do a little planning to conserve the Gold items.
