If you're looking for the answer to a specific question, but don't want to risk spoiling the rest of the game, check the "Frequently Asked Questions" section first to see if it's there. This is my favorite game ever. EVER. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. On names: Pharus = from the Greek word for light Skanda = a fast-running Buddhist diety ----I. Story This takes place about 10-20 years after the events of Lennus 1 (otherwise known as Paladin's Quest in the US). After 10,000 years of waiting, the prophecy of Undel comes true and the sleeping god Pharus awakes. It is said that he will gather the four treasures and unite the four continents, bringing the long-awaited "dawn". But what is "dawn" and what will happen to Undel after it happens? ----II. General game advice In a weapon or armor shop, if a character cannot use the selected item, the stat number is grayed out (as opposed to yellow/red when they can use it). Two-handed weapons have a W in front of their name in the shop window. A character can attack with ANY equipped item, including armor. Some items have special effects. Only equipped items can be used in battle. You cannot use items in your inventory. There are no save points. You can save the game anywhere- map, dungeon or town. ---1. Game menus -- Game start menu After choosing a save file, there are three options: Help, Play and Return. Return goes back to the file chooser menu. Play loads the file. Return loads the file but warps the party back to the dungeon entrance, in exchange for half the party's gold. -- Menu game menu - Top: Save Saves the game - Left: Heal all Uses your bottles to completely heal the party - Right: Command (see Command Menu below) - Bottom: Party (See Party Menu below) -- Command menu - Top: Equip Change characters' equipment - Top left: Spell Cast a spell - Top right: Items Opens Item menu - Bottom left: Elementals See the Elementals and spells of each character - Bottom right: Status See the stats and equipment of each character - Bottom: End -- Item menu 1 - Top: Item bag Use/discard/organize items in the party's inventory - Bottom: Return Other options allow using items equipped by a character. -- Item menu 2 (for item bag) - Top: Organize Move items around - Left: Discard Permanently discard an item - Right: Use Use an item - Bottom: Cleanup Organize items automatically -- Party menu - Left: Fire Fire a merc from the party - Right: Order Change the order of the parry - Bottom: End -- Battle menu - Top: Defend - Left: Spell - Right: Weapon/tool - Bottom: Flee ---2. They can be equipped on a character's belt, or in a hand. Refilling them costs the same, no matter when type of bottle it is. You cannot buy bottles, only find them. You can refill bottles at item shops, or at machines with large pink tanks. ----III. Major Characters ---1. Pharus This is your character. Pharus is supposedly a god, left to slumber in a temple in Undel's Pharus Temple. He can use Knife, Sword, Bow and Rod weapons, and most armor types. ---2. High Priest Gran Doron The high priest of the Pharus Temple. He's spent his life waiting for Pharus' awakening and will do anything to help him and bring about the Grand Unification. ---3. Kei Gynter A boy from Revnant. He's a huge fan of yours, and organized a fanclub called the Pharus Young Knights. Awwwwww. ---4. Petro The Tribune of Niguren, who people say brought peace to Eltz. He has some kind of connection to Pharus. We've seen him before... ---5. Granada The villain! Another supposed god, Pharus' evil counterpart. He wants to bring about the "Grand Unification", but for what purpose? ---6. Jimbal An aristocrat who left the ritzy suburbs to live in the Downtown slum. He'll help you figure out what to do next if you're stuck. But why did he move to downtown...? ---7. Joanna and Jonesy A married couple. Jonesy seems to have gotten into trouble in Reself. ---8. Golturk A rich collector. He's gotten so fat he can't get out of bed, so you'll have to do some of his collecting for him. ---9. Yudenus A young noble looking for a wife ---10. Pasco High Priest of the White Cross Church, an ally to Petro ---11. Midia An old friend of Petro, who came with him to Eltz. We've seen her before, too... ----IV. Mercenaries Mercenaries are hirable characters. Unlike Lennus 1, you can change their equipment (in fact, if you wanted to be shady, you can make some quick cash by swiping their equipment before you release them). You cannot change their Elementals. For the most part, you can hire and fire mercs whenever you like, but there are exceptions. You should hire everyone at least once. Once you hire a character, you can rehire them at any time by returning to where you found them or using the Kamonate spell or Smell of Wine item (even if where you found them is currently unavailable). When releasing a merc, bottles are automatically unequipped, and you're given the option of leaving their other equipment or taking it. If a merc leaves on their own, they take everything with them, including bottles. These are listed in approximately the order you find them. --Zock Barss: "Defeats enemies with Fire's Zuzan and Wind's Lelan" Location: Pharus Temple, 2nd floor Male, Terrano, Age 23 Elementals: Fire, Wind Weapons: Knives, Swords, Rods, Gauntlet Shields: Yes Headgear: Hats Armor: Robes, Coats, Armor Footwear: Shoes Conditions: None One of the Five Angels of Unification, working in the Pharus Temple. --Yuma: "Uses Light and Metal Elementals. There are eight Elementals: F = Fire L = Light Wi = Wind M = Metal E = Earth S = Sky Wa = Water V = Void What spells you can use depends on which Elementals you have equipped. Pharus can learn all 8 Elementals, but mercenary characters are stuck with what they have. The number of Elementals Pharus can equip depends on how many he has learned: 1-3: can equip 1 4-5: can equip 2 6-7: can equip 3 8: can equip 4 Pharus learns new Elementals at Elemental Shrines. You can go to these at any time, once the area they're in is accessible. See the "Side quests and games" section for these. After battle, the monsters will drop Elementals. Anyone in the party who has matching Elementals equipped has a chance of gaining one. Who gets them is random. As a character gains Elementals, the power of the spells increase. In some cases, the damage or effect increases. In some, the spell's range increases. At some levels (eg. levels 1, 3, 6 and 8 for Zuzan), spells level-up and the casting animation changes. Casting spells uses HP, not MP. The required HP nevers goes up, though. By the end of the game, you can get major whackage for only 9 HP! Use fire spells against birds and plants, Light against reptiles and machines, and wind against mammals. You can find out the type of a monster by pressing the L button. ---2. Spells --A. Equipable items There's just too many characters to keep track of who can use what in this table, so I've divided the items into types, and listed the usable types with each character. But even then, there are characters who can use some of a type but not others (e.g. Several characters can use the Knife but not the Dagger). Sometimes characters can use the lowest-level items but not the others. Weapon ATK ratings can be a bit misleading. Some weapons can attack multiple times, which increases their potential damage. --A. Weapons -a. Side quests and games ---1. Elemental Shrines --A. Metal Shrine Location: Tor Terran Note: You MUST do this before leaving Undel. You won't get another chance afterward. Recommended Elementals: Fire Items to find: Metal Card The spinny tiles are teleporters. The terminal screens (there's one just up the stairs near the entrance) switch which group is active. Go up the stairs and switch the teleporters, then take the one on the right. Switch them, then take the top right teleporter. Continue like this until you get to a room with one teleporter in the NW and four in the SE. The three active teleporters all lead to a room with bookcases. Take the teleports on the far east side of the room. At the next room, switch them, then take the teleporter on the right, then the upper right. You should be at a staircase. On the next floor, note the markings on the carpet. The top level seems to have no floor, but there is an invisible floor above where the carpets were on the floor below. The Metal Elemental is there, and of course you have to fight him before he'll help. Fight the Metal Elemental: All three spell types seem to work decently well, better than physical attacks. He has an attack that does ~140 damage to the entire party. --B. Earth Shrine Location: South of Kamui Reccommended elementals: Fire (but physical attacks are your best bet here) Items to find: Earth Card Elemental Ball Light Door Use the computer terminals to drain the lava. It's pretty straightforward. It's a good idea to have at least one Clear Bottle, as some monsters cause Mold. The Earth Elemental is on the bottom floor. Fighting the Earth Elemental: Fire or Light works best, with high enough levels. Its attacks can do ~350 damage and attack multiple characters. --C. Sky Shrine Location: South of Sanfero, you'll need a geran to reach it. Items to find: Sky Card Giant Log Elemental Ball The bridge on the second floor flashes on and off. Wait for it to appear and then cross. The top floor is a maze of transporters. Fighting the Sky Elemental: Physical attacks are best. It can do ~500 hp of damage. --D. Water Shrine (Zolgan and Zolstan) Location: The ocean. You'll need a boat to get to it, and the World Map to tell you where Zolgan is. Items to find: Bomb Bottle Multi-Edge Water Card Sail into Zolgan's mouth. Instead, you'll find the town of Zolstan, inhabited by sailors Zolgan swallowed. If you don't mind never being able to leave, it's not so bad. In one of the houses, you find Meruru's fiancee, Neru. But he'd given up on even leaving Zolstan, and began a relationship with Jem. He gives you his bag and asks you to give it to Meruru and tell her he's dead. Sailing into the whirlpools takes you through the tubes to another area. In one of those areas, you'll find the Water Elemental! Fighting the Water Elemental: Heal up first because its worst attack does ~2000 points of damage! It is VERY weak against Light. Bring Neru's Bag to his fiancee and she'll give you a Demon's Ring. --E. Void Shrine Location: Lennus, NW of Jurayne This one is a maze, like the Doran Doran shrine. Chase the Elemental around the maze, while avoiding the guards (or not, if you'd rather fight), until you catch it. Fighting the Void Elemental: Pretty much any magic will work, as will physical attacks. This one's a free- for-all! ---2. Glouster's Commodities Exchange You can find this on the top level of Gloster District 2. Here, you can buy Gold Angels, Silver Angels and Bronze Angels. The price changes over time, so if you buy the right things, you might make money. Talk to one of the tellers, and the screen will show the current buying and selling price for the goods, and how many of each you own. The angels are kept in the exhange. You don't need to carry them. ---3. Glouster Junk Shop The junk shop is on the top level of Glouster district 2. The guy here will buy leftover items you no longer need. Don't accept the first offer, because he'll haggle. What he'll Buy: Eagle Flute -> ~1400G White Shadow -> ~2000G ---4. Quiz Challenge You can find this in Glouster district 3. You'll need a Membership Card to get in. To get one, go to the bar where Bo is, fight all the drunks, then talk to the barkeep. He'll sell you one for 1000G. It's a quiz show! Answer questions about the game to win prizes! Each attempt costs 1000G. There are three levels of difficulty. The higher levels have more obscure questions. The questions you get are random, and you have about 10 seconds to pick an answer. Get enough questions right, and win a prize. Prizes: Beginner level: Triple Arrow Middle level: Fancy Hairpin Upper level: Light Ring After beating all three levels, they'll offer you a chance to take the Special Quiz for 2000G. The prize is a Dream Dress. ---5. Kokera Theater You can find this in Glouster district 4. You can buy an A ticket for 2000G or B ticket for 1000G. If you buy the B ticket, you'll be so far away from the stage that you can't see anything, and all you'll hear is a snippet of dialogue. It's a play about Tribune Petro. The Petro character says he took the name Petro because is means huge rock- a rock to protect Niguren, chosen by the gods! An A ticket gets you a front-row seat. The narrator says that long ago, there were two gods in the land of Raiga- Lady Maeve and Lord Granada (If you've played Lennus 1, you'll recognize the name Raiga). Maeve believed that all life should be free to live as it must. Granada believed that life meant destroying all that did not bend to your will. They could not agree, so they each sent an avatar to earth. The avatars would fight, and the victor would decide the fate of all life on the planet. And the film begins. Granada sent Kayma to earth, sealed in stone. It was supposed to stay sealed until Maeve's avatar appeared, but something happened. People began to see the stone as a blessing from the gods, and came to touch it, believing it would bless them. One day, a young man named Petro came to make a wish on the stone. It was then that Kayma burst forth. So began a reign of terror and destruction. Maeve called to Petro. It was his pure heart that awakened Kayma, and only he could destroy it. Petro set forth to vanquish Kayma. But he did not travel alone. A young girl named Midia joined him. Together, they were known as the Hero of Fire and Hero of Earth. They fought Kayma's minions, saving many people. But when the people found out who he was, they cursed them, saying that this destruction and unrest was Petro's doing because he released Kayma. SO their enemies were not only monsters, but people as well. They did not let this deter them. At last, they fought their way to the Throne of the Gods, where Kayma waited. In an epic battle, Kayma was defeated. Maeve sent Petro to Niguren, to lead the people. She sent Midia to the Mirage Palace, where she would watch over the planet. In other words, it's the plot of Lennus 1, told in nifty Babylonian-ish art! Have you figured out Petro's secret identity? ---6. Orchestra Go to the concert hall in Glouster district 4. The musicians there can't perform because their instruments have gotten lost in transit. Bring them the instruments you find (check the item list for locations). You'll get to hear a new version of their song with each instrument added. ---7. Your house You can find Gantetsu the builder in Lejuna. Lejuna's houses are made of House Eggs, found in the Darugo Cave to the south. Because of the shortage of eggs, it's been ages since Gantetsu's had the chance to build somethine nice and big, and he's lost the will to work. If you want a house, you'll have to bring him House Eggs. 10 eggs will get you a small hut. 40 will get you a nice, big mansion and Gantetsu's eternal gratitude. (and you'll need 1 extra) The Darugo cave is south of Lejuna. For 1000G, you get about 30 seconds to catch eggs. Jump up to grab them when they pop out of the water, but don't get caught in the whirlpools. Big eggs, worth three small ones, sometimes appear in the northern end of the cave. Normally, building a mansion would cost you 100000G, but this time, he'll just keep one of the House Eggs as payment. After some time, it will be finished. It comes with a bookshelf stocked with books, including a book of illustration by Katou and Gotou, who did the concept art for this and Lennus 1 (squee!). The next time you enter, there'll be a woman offering to work as your maid for 1000G. Talk to her to rest up. Other items in your house: Smell of Wine, Light Door ---9. Jimbal's secret DO NOT DO THIS! GO BACK! DO NOT DO THIS SIDE QUEST! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! YOU GAIN NOTHING BUT DESPAIR! What, you're still here? Fine, but don't blame me if you want to kill yourself afterward. Anyway, remember Jimbal, the helpful information dealer in Downtown? His house is in the north side of Hammond Hill. Talk to his wife, Jessica. She's upset because Jimbal grew bored of life in the mansion and obsessed with studying and left to live in Downtown to study. His son thinks he left because of him, and his daughter never wants to see him again because she thinks he abandoned them. The wife asks you to go ask Jimbal to come home. Go to Downtown and talk to Jimbal. He says he wants to go home, but can't, and asks you to tell Jessica this. He really can't. When you exit his shop, you're asked if you want to go to Jimbal's house. Go back and give his family the news. His son gives you a letter to take to him. Give JImbal the letter. In it, his son apologizes for stealing things from the house and selling him for pocket money, and begs him to return. He thinks Jimbal left in order to take the blame for his thefts! Jimbal says that's not what happened, at all. Go back to the house and tell the son this. Then talk to the daughter. She has her own secret. She gives you a bloody handkerchief to give to Jimbal. She hated her father so much for leaving them that she used one of him handkerchiefs to cast a curse on him. Someone named Granada taught her a curse that would make sure he'd never hurt his family like that again. Uh oh... But if he burns the handkerchief, the curse will be broken and he can come back. Give the handkerchief to Jimbal. He's glad she's forgiven him, but it isn't that simple. Julia didn't know the truth behind Granada's curse. But there's no time left. He decides to go home, and you go back to the mansion. Jimbal apologizes to his family for leaving and being a terrible husband and father. Julia apologizes for the curse, but Jimbal says everything is really Granada's fault. He'd found out the truth about the Great Unification, and Granada used Julia to try to keep him quiet. The handkerchief was just a small piece. Burning it won't break the curse. And now, the final stage of the curse is starting. Before his family's eyes, Jimbal turns into a monster. Just before he does, he begs you to kill him, so that at least Granada won't take his soul. Fighting Jimbal: Wind is the best choice. He attack with Light and can do ~400 points of damage to the entire party. After you beat him, he thanks you. He tells you to apologize to Petro for not doing enough. He tries to tell you about the Great Unification. Something about Eltz and Lennus... and Ecto Raiga... Jessica gives you a Bouquet of Life. It belonged to Jimbal and she thinks you should have it. Not that that makes it any better, as the family still blames themselves for his death and the servants want to throw you out... ---10. Haunted House The Haunted House is in the NW corner of Hammond Hill. Why do they call it the Haunted House? Because ghosts live there! Each ghost is connected to a element and a Seal. If you have the matching Seal, they'll let you through. Items to find: Tornado Sword Ancient Relic Sage Robe Fist of Anger Sage Staff Thunder Saber Fist of Rage Sage Ring ---11. Count Yudenus' bride Note that while you can use any female merc for this, you won't be able to get her back, even with Smell of Wine or Kamonate, until the side quest has run its course. Use someone you won't need for a while, because this takes a long time. Yudenus' house is in the SW corner of Hammond Hill. He's just come of age, and is looking for a bride, but hasn't found anyone who strikes his fancy. One of the maids, Pepe, has a monster crush on him, but he doesn't notice her. Bring a female merc and talk to the guards on the second floor. If you have a cute girl with you (I used Jenka), they'll let you in. Put the woman in the front of the party and talk to Yudenus. He'll go nuts fawning over her beauty and kindness and grace and strength and ask her to be is lover. Say yes (He'll ask twice) and he'll want to immediately start doing what lovers do. If you haven't taken off her stuff, you'll have to do so. He'll take her upstairs and come back dressed for a wedding (you were expecting something else? Perv.) People come and start dancing for the ceremony. Pepe is standing outside and she doesn't feel like dancing :(. Come back after some time has passed (for me, it wasn't until after finding the eigth seal), and you'll find the marriage is not a happy one. They're fighting, and none of the servants want to see you. Pepe says that if he'd married her, instead, everything would be different. I may have done this wrong, as this is as far is it got with me. Next time I play, I'll try it with a different merc and see if anything changes. ---12. Do this after you've gotten all eight Elementals. Each tunnel leads to a path for a specific element. Elemental spirits of that element will follow you, and join the fight when other monsters attack. If you attack them with physical attacks and it doesn't kill them, they'll split. If they manage to run away, they'll follow you, so try to destroy them before they do. If five of them show up at once, they'll combine into a bigger monster. This monster changes elements every turn, and can do ~1000 points of damage. Use Wind against Fire, Fire against Light and Light against Wind. If any character has Supitoru, cast it as soon as the monster shows up! At the end of each road is a Guardian you have to fight. These are super-tough. They attack twice per round and does 500-1000 damage to everyone per attack. The Speras' Belly spell is pretty useful, as it basically cuts out one of the Guardian's attacks. Or better yet, do it twice! Both Zane and Flash are accessible by the time you get here, and they both have Speras' Belly. Although the timing doesn't line up in every round, when it does it completely negates the Guardian's attacks. ---13. Calon and Mechanids Items to find: Mega-bottle Mechani-heart Mechani-arm Sky Card Mechani-head 33 Mechani-body Void Card You can find Calon on a plateau east of Mist. You'll need to use the Sky Boat to get there. A man named Doctor Ryu has placed a sign nearby announcing that he is looking for Mechanids parts. These can be found all over Lennus. Check the Item lists for locations. There's a graveyard in the corner, with gravestones for some characters who died in Lennus 1: Garana, Bean and Joyce. Joyce's has a bouquet, probably left by Zaran. There's also one for "O. Gawa, the iron knight". Another programmer self-insert? The stairs to Doctor Ryu's lab are hidden behind a wall in the house with the special music. To build a Mechanids, use the computer terminal and select with parts to use. The different parts give different stats and abilities. ----IX. FAQ Q: Do you actually HAVE to take the Four Treasures? That guy seemed pretty serious. Fight all the drunks, then talk to the barkeep. He'll sell you a Membership Card for 1000G. Q: How do I get the Abel Bread? It runs out before I get to the front of the line? A: First, talk to the boy and his mother in the house north of yours, then talk to the first man in the bakery's line. Pharus Temple Items to find: Soft Robe Wooden Shoes Light Card Mini-bottle Knife 200G The dark world of Undel was wrapped in darkness, caught between waking and sleeping. But suddenly, a shaft of light comes from above and hits the Pharus Temple. A dark figure calls for Pharus to awake. His crystal shatters and Pharus arrives at the temple. High Priest Gran Doron and his priests are waiting. The prophecy has come true! It is said that someday, a great light will come from the heavens and awake Pharus, who will bring the Grand Unification and dawn. But what is this Grand Unification? The other priests are surprised you don't know, think you're joking. All they know is that Grand Unification will bring happiness. Your awakening will bring the dawn, but no one knows what dawn is, either, other than that it's supposed to be something great. Go down to the next level and find some gear. This is the Pharus Temple, built especially for you, so everything in it rightfully belongs to you. No need to feel creepy about rooting through people's stuff. On the next level down, check the cabinets to find a Light Card. You'll also find your first five mercs there, known as the Five Angels. See the Mercenaries section for their details. Pick three of them and have them join you. You can change whenever you like. Ride the elevator to the next level. There is a Elemental Machine there. You already know Fire, Light and Wind, but can only equip one, for now. There's also a kitchen. If you're low on HP, talk to one of the cooks, and she'll feed you. The machine with the giant pink tank is a bottle filler. You can fill your bottles there for free. --B. Gwandel Items to find: 200G When you're all kitted out, go to the Temple exit. There's a man there. He heard Pharus had awakened and rushed to come see. When he finds out you're Pharus, he asksfor an autograph. You sign the man's clothes, and he runs off to show his wife. Go south from the Temple to the town of Gwandel. A boy meets you there, then goes to alert the rest of the town. Everyone comes to see, and the village elder leads you to his house, where they hold a party. No one hears knows what the Grand Unification is, either, but they're all excited about the happiness it's supposed to bring. The autograph-hunter's wife is there, and she apologizes for her husband's behavior. One man flew there from Du Terran on a Gwanji Bird, but now the Gwanji birds won't fly, so he can't get back. Talk to the elder at the stairs when you're done and he'll show you to a bed. Gwandel's claim to fame was the Gwanji birds, but they're gone, now. A man named Ben had the job of bringing Gwanji eggs from Ar Rouge cave and raising them, but a monster called Dolen has taken up residence in the cave. Dolen lays its own eggs inside Gwanji eggs, and it's impossible to tell which are Dolen and which are Gwanji eggs. Ben's wife asks you to find a Gwanji egg when you go to Ar Rouge. Unification requires finding the four treasure: the Red Sleep, Blue Fire, Black Light and Green Anger. The Red Sleep is here on Ar Terran, in the Ar Rouge Cave. --C. Ar Rouge Recommended Elementals: Fire, Light Items to find: Light Door Dagger Homeward Door Light Shield Mini-bottle (2) Gwanji Egg Clear-bottle Red Sleep Head south from Gwandel to Ar Rouge. On the third floor, you find an egg. It's a baby Dolen egg, so you'll have to fight the hatchling. If you defeat it, you can get a Mini-bottle from the chest. A couple more floors down, and you'll see eggs rolling past. If one hits you, you'll have to fight another baby Dolen. Fighting Baby Dolens: Wind and Light spells both work well. If it goes back in its egg, physical attack effectiveness is cut in half. If you run into floating spore balls, fight them with magic, as they'll split if struck. At the bottom of the cave, you find Dolen. Fighting Dolen: Light spells work best. Fire barely works at all. Bring at least two people with Light, because you'll need to be able to do at least 300 damage per round. Make sure everyone without the Light Elemental has a Mini-Bottle so they can keep everyone's HP over 150. Dolen has an attack that will do ~120 damage to everyone. If he eats an egg, he'll regain 300 HP. After beating Dolen, you find a Gwanji egg. The Red Sleep is sitting on a dais, but when you try to take it, something happens. A face appears, and tries to talk to you, but the transmission is garbled, and very little is understandable. Whatever he's saying, it seems like a warning. You're given the option whether or not to take the Red Sleep, anyway. Go back to Gwandel and give the Gwanji egg to Ben. He pops it in his machine, and the egg hatches into a Gwanji bird. Now you can ride to Gwanji bird's gondola to the next continent, Du Terran ---2. Undel/Du Terran: Blue Fire --A. Revnant Items to find: Fire card Daybreak Hat 400G Ben drops you in the town of Revnant. Before he leaves, he gives you the Eagle Flute. If you want to go back to Ar Terran, blow the flute and the Gwanji Bird express will come pick you up. The people of Revnant are just as excited about the Grand Unification as those in Gwandel. Revnant's mayor has even ordered a festival, complete with a specially-made cocktail from the local bar. Especially interested is a young boy named Kei. People think he's up to no good. A friend of his is trying to find him, saying something about the Pharus Young Knights and the mayor's house. At the mayor's house, no one will let you in, thinking you're just some random nobody. Examine one of the bookcases, and it will slide over, revealing a hidden staircase. Upstairs is the secret headquarters of the Pharus Knights, basically a fanclub led by Kei. Talk to Kei and he realizes who you are and fanboys out. When he hears you want to see the mayor, he opens up another secret bookcase. He says they're planning something super special for you. Go see the mayor in bed. He's angry that you woke him up, because he was dreaming of being visited by Pharus. But once he finds out he really is being visited by the real thing, he changes his tune. After yelling at the servants for not letting him know you'd come, he brings some food. Of course, they'd prepared a suitable welcome for you, really they had, but since you're *obviously so tired*, it can wait until tomorrow. While you sleep, he hurriedly finishes the preparations. But the next morning, something has happened. Kei and his group have left the town. The left a note saying they were going to Du Flare to get the Blue Fire for you. Du Flare is a dangerous, fiery cave. The mayor begs you to go bring back the boys. --B. Du Flare Recommended Elementals: Wind Items to find: Light Door Cloth Shoes Little Boomerang Homeward Door Clear-bottle Blue Fire Go north from Revnant to find Du Flare. There are flames shooting up from the floor. Step on the round switch to extinguish them. Past that, step on the switch on the right side of the room to turn off the flamethrower blocking your way. Continue stepping on switches to get through. Stepping on one will shut off another somewhere else in the level, but it may not by nearby. At level 2, the path splits. Take the upper path first. You'll find the first boy there. He says Kei was attacked by a monster and begs you to save him. Go back up to level 2 and take the lower path. There's another boy on level 3. He says Kei wasn't just attacked by the monster, but swallowed. He's afraid Kei is dead. Before going down to level 4, step on the switch by the stairs. You find Kei at the bottom level. He says he knew you'd come, and was hoping he could fight with you. And he apparently means that literally- he attack you. But after a few rounds, the monster reveals itself. It wasn't really Kei, but the monster Zuzanart. Fighting Zuzanart: Use Wind spells. The others don't do much good. It has an attack that does ~160 damage to the whole party. After beating Zuzanart, Kei comes back to his senses. He was attacked by a monster and doesn't remember what happened after that. He regrets not being able to get the Blue Fire, or see Pharus in action. He leaves to find the other boys and return to Revnant. As you try to take the Blue Fire, there's another transmission from the strange man. This one is more garbled than the last, and you can't even make words out. Do you take the Blue Fire anyway? Go back to Revnant. If you go to Kei's house, you'll find he's in the middle of getting a spanking from his father. There is a scientist doing something with the machine on top of the mayor's house. He says the machine will supposedly activate in the presence of the Blue Fire. Going left will take you to Tor Terran. Going right will take you to Qua Terran. But you have to have the Blue Fire for it to work. ---3. Undel/Tor Terran: Black Light --A. Gondoarta Items to find: Mini-bottle Light Door Wind Card You go to either Tor Terran or Qua Terran first. I went to Tor Terran first, as the monsters are a but easier. Once you're on either place, you can use the Eagle Flute to get back to Du Terran. You land in Tor Terran just outside Gondoarta. Gondoarta is covered in fog, and full of graves. You can read the graves. They're all recent. The bartender, a young woman and a little boy have all died. Talk to the townspeople, and you'll find the town is beset by the Grim Reaper Folga. The priest Valgan supposedly knows how to stop Folga, but he's too sick to move. Folga is also called Death. You'll find Folga's minions camped out at the door of their next victim. Every night, someone dies. The bartender has just died, so booze is on the house at the bar. Better drink up, because who knows who Folga will take next. NW of Gondoarta is Tor Maira, where the Black Light is hidden. To the west is the Metal Elemental Temple, where you can learn the Metal Elemental. You can go to the Metal Elemental Temple at any time. The shops are all closed, because the owners are shut in their homes for fear of Folga, but there is a man there who will fill your bottles for free. Go to the home of Folga's next victim. Their son, Dark, was the first victim. Now Folga has returned for the husband. Try to talk to him and Folga herself will appear. Go see Valgan in the church. He's been sick since before Folga appeared, but if he were healthy, he could get rid of her. If you say you'll get rid of Folga, he'll give you the key to Tor Myra. It's in one of the three chests. He only remembers how to open the far right one. Stand in front of it and press Up, Right, Right, Left, Down. Tor Maira has three doors, but only one of them is the true door. If you pick the wrong one, you can come back to Valgan and he'll give you another key. But you don't want to do that. Trust me. You don't want to do that. IMPORTANT: Every time you go through a dungeon without killing Folga on Tor Terran, someone else dies! If you go to the Metal Elemental Temple before killing Folga, or pick the wrong door in Tor Maira, someone will die! Do you want that on your conscience? Even if you don't mind having fictitious deaths on your conscience, some of the victims run the shops, so you'll be missing out on shopping if they die. ---B. Tor Maira Recommended Elemental: Wind, Fire Items to find (right door): Hunter Knife Skanda-kun G Light Shield Twin Arrow Mini-bottle Go north from Gondoarta to for Tor Myra. Only one of the three doors leads to Folga. If at the end of the road, you find a White Shadow instead of a Black Light, you've picked the wrong one. See the FAQ if you want the real one. You'll be able to get the rest of the keys from Valgan after beating Folga, so you don't need to go through all of them now. If you picked the right door, when you try to open the box at the end of the passage, Folga will appear. She's not worried- Death can't die, after all. Fighting Folga: Wind and Fire work okay. Light isn't any use. In her first form, her attacks do ~150 damage. This form doesn't appear to have any special attacks. In her second form, her attacks do about the same damage, but attack multiple characters. She also has two special attacks, one that hits everyone multiple times, and one that does ~170 damage to everyone. After you beat her, she just laughs. WIll Death go to heaven when it dies? You're supposed to be a god, so you should know! Go back to Gondoarta. The fog is gone, and hopefully there aren't any more gravestones. Go see Valgan and he'll give you the combinations to the other safes so you can get the other keys and go collect the rest of the loot in Tor Maira. Center combo is Left, Right, Left, Down, Down. Left combo is Down, Down, Up, Left, Left. Everyone rejoices about how the legend of the coming god was true. The light came and drove away Death. But not everyone is happy. The man who lost his wife begs you to go into the underworld and bring her back. Go back to Tor Maira and get the rest of the loot. The Black Light is behind the left-hand door. The strange man appears again. This time, you can make out that he's saying something about the Grand Unification. Is he trying to tell you what it actually is? ---4. Undel/Qua Terran: Green Anger --A. Giant's House Take the Gwanji ferry beck to Du Terran, then use the warp on top of the mayor's house to get to Qua Terran. You end up near the house of the giant Igres. But the inhabitants don't look like giants. But they are- they're parts of Igres. Literally, parts. The Liver is by the door and tells you that they're like this because Head ate something weird. Right Big Toe recognizes you- he's seen you before, 10000 years ago when the world was first created. You also find Neck, Stomach, Tongue (who thinks the weird thing Head ate tasted good), Kidney, Duodenum (who didn't like the weird thing at all), Femur, Eye, Ear, Shinbone (who runs the weapon shop), Left Middle Finger (who runs the armor shop. The goods are supposedly made from Igres' hair and nails), Appendix (who runs the item shop), Right Thumb (who runs the inn, complete with massage service), Diaphragm (who has hiccups), Calf and Esophagus. The next treasure, the Green Anger is nearby in Qua Gelgar, but you can't climb the cliff. But Igres is big enough. If you fix him, he can get you to Qua Gelgar. Head and Heart are stuck in the weird growths in the lower right corner. --B. Head and Heart Recommended Elementals: Fire, Light, Metal Items to find: Goddess of Wisdom E Heart of Protection T The path in Head's prison is blocked by growths. Step on the floor plate and they'll retract. The pink circle works like a staircase. To get to the next plate, you'll have to fight off the Bykinder on top of it. They are weak against Light and strong against Fire. The plate under the last orange Bykinder is a trap. If you step on it, more Bykinders appear and block the path. But they're a good way to beef up your Fire Elementals. At the end of the tunnel is a green Bykinder. It's the opposite of the orange ones: weak against Fire and strong against Light. Other than having more HP, it's no different from the orange ones. Once you beat the green Bykinder, the growth disappears and Head is free. Heart's prison is a maze of blood vessels. Drop into the holes to travel through them. Each time you go through one, there is a chance of having to fight an Aneurism. Like the Bykinders, they're weak against Light and strong against Fire. At the end of Heart's prison is another green Bykinder. Beat it and Heart is free. Head and Heart do a little happy dance and run off to reunite with the others. Follow them to the platform in the north. The parts (except poor Appendix, who got left behind), all crowd into the box below, and and once they're all inside, Igres is back to normal. He will carry you over the cliff to Qua Gelgar, but he won't be able to follow you in because he's too big. --C. Qua Gelgar Recommended Elementals: Fire, Wind, Metal Items to find: Whip Tough Robe Tunic Power Boomerang Middle Shield Hi-bottle. A sign just inside gives you a hint: "Circles are blue. Squares are red. Triangles are purple." Look around and you'll see circle, square and triangle buttons on the floor. Stepping on them removes the pools of water of the corresponding color. You cannot have all three gone at once. If two are gone and you step on a third button, the missing two will come back. First, step on the square and triangle buttons and go down the stairs to the north. Get the loot, then go back up. Press the circle button and take the stairs to the west. Go down a couple of levels. If the pool of red water is still there at the bottom, step on the square and triangle buttons to remove it. At level three, there's a blue and purple pool. Step on the circle to remove the blue, but leave the purple, so the red stays gone (so you can get the Hi-bottle below). At the bottom is Mad Maburon. Fighting Mad Maburon: Wind works best. Light does next to nothing. If you have Baiaxe, use it on anyone who doesn't hve Wind. Its attack can do ~350 damage. He doesn't seem to have any special attacks. As you try to take the Green Anger, there's another transmission. There's still time, he says. Is he telling you not to bring the Treasures back to the temple? ---5. Undel/Great Unification Take the treasure back to the Pharus Temple. A priest immediately greets you at the door. They heard you'd collected the four treasures and are waiting upstairs. He asks if you've gotten the Metal Elemental. If you answer no, he suggests you go get it. Everyone will wait. (and it might be a bit hard to get to later). Seriously, go get it now. Go up to the roof. Everyone is waiting, excited to finally see the Great Unification. The autograph hunter is there, too. He asks you to sign his shirt after you're done. Talk to Gran Doron, and put the four treasures on the dais next to him. The orbs light of and the ground shakes. This isn't what they expected! Gran Doron Asks you what's going on. A shadow falls over the temple, and over all of Undel. The continents begin to move, merging together as if they were meant to do so! The Great Unification was apparently a *literal* unification! Gran Doron begs you to stop it. The Grand Unification will mean the death of all of Undel! But it's no use. You fly upward in a ball of light, leaving Undel behind. A voice awakens you. She congratulates you on finding the treasures sooner than they'd anticipated. The voice belongs to a woman named Ephraim. The welcomes you to Eltz. No, you're not in dark, creepy Undel, anymore. But you'll figure this out on your own, anyway. The underground's Grand Unification is different from the *real* Grand Unification. But she's a meanie, so she won't tell you what that is. She will tell you that the undergrgound's Grand Unification was the first step of the real Grand Unification. The people underground will be sacrificed for it. And you started it, so it's your fault. She can't let you interfere with the Unification, but Lord Granada ordered her not to kill you. Instead, she'll give you a brand new power. The power of stone! It might get lonely, but you'll all die when the Grand Unification occurs, anyway. She disappears, and the mercs you had with you have all turned to stone! ---6. Eltz/ Dank Village and Purification Shrine Recommended Elementals: Wind, Metal Items to find: Fighting Man V Leather Shoes Gauntlet Midday Hat Middle Sword Leather Vest Metal Card 400G (in Dank) Leave the hole and go south to Dank Village. If you talk to anyone there, they also turn to stone. The house in the southeast contains a single chest. It contains the Shrine Key, and a note. The note reads: "If you go to the Purification Shrine in the north, you can cure the stone curse. Come quickly to my palace in Niguren. -Petro". Go northwest to the Purification Shrine and use the key to unlock the door. Most of the monsters here are mammals, so you can beat them easily with Lelan and Lelisun. At the top, you find Ephraim. She's a little put out that you're still getting in the way after she and Lord Granada were kind enough to leave you alive. She hates idiots like you, so she's just going to kill you. Fighting Ephraim: I had Wind equipped and it worked only a little better than physical attacks. Her attacks do ~140 damage. Make sure you have a full bottle equipped before fighting her. You might get a Fashionable Shoes when you beat her. Ephraim isn't bothered about being beaten. Tragedy suits her. A beautiful flower is fated to eventually wilt. But she still cries out to Lord Granada for help, wondering if this is a dream. Go into the room behind her and stand in the machine. The curse is lifted and your mercs are back to normal. It teleports you outside. Back in Dank, all the people who were turned to stone are back to normal, too. No one remembers being turned to stone or realizes time has passed. According to the guards, Dank used to be a fort outpost, built to protect the wall city of Niguren. But now that Tribune Petro rules Niguren, things are peaceful and Dank is just a podunk village. But at least they can get their nap time in. ---7. Eltz/Niguren Downtown, The First Seal --A. Niguren, Downtown Items to find: 500G The sign says that Niguren is to the south, so go south. You get to the entrance to the giant wall city of Niguren. You enter in Downtown, the lowest-class area of the city. Here, people from all over the world gather in the hopes of becoming proper citizens of Niguren. The houses are all tents and shacks, and there are signs all over warning people not to litter or pee in public, and to pick up after their animals. At various places, you can find the Gubo Taxi. For 10G, you can ride them all over the city. In the NW corner is a shack owned by a priest. He came to help the poor and sick in Downtown, but needs money and asks for a donation of 200G. If you give him money, he'll ask for another 200G, and so on. In the west is a boarding house run by a woman named Chulo. There's an empty room and she's looking for a cute young man to rent it. Only 1000G! If you sleep there, Chulo will climb in your bed. And I hope that's all she does. Another boarding house in the central area is run by Danbal. His room only costs 100G, and he won't try to molest you in your sleep. He will, however, occasionally "borrow" money out of your wallet. If you rent at either place, you can rest there for free. The bar sells a dish called Bomb Cracker, and if you eat one, you take damage. According to the chef upstairs, it's made with real gunpowder! There are urinals under the bar. And yes, you can actually take a piss in them. But if you do, the attendants won't let you leave until you pay them 5G. Go one more floor down and you'll see the bar's other secret. The barrels there collect the... um... output from the urinals, and it's used to make the booze! You weren't that thirsty, right? In order to get into Niguren proper, you'll need citizenship papers, and those cost money. Most people earn money at Gavana Mine, to the south. Beware of forgers, though. A man named Brezas can allegedly fake citizen papers that pass for real. His shop is in the center of town, but he can't make you papers, now. His eyes have gotten too bad to make out the details necessary for good forgeries. A man named Jimbal supposedly already has genuine citizenship papers. This Jimbal used to live in the city proper, but tired of it for some reason and moved here. The residents like him. He'll give you advice on what to do next if you're stuck. There seems to have been some sort of incident at the mine. A girl in a house on the south end talks about her fiance, Pele, who works there. The girl's mother thinks Pele was caught in the accident, but hasn't told the girl. The other miners have gathered by the south entrance. They'd all rather die or live as beggars than go back. --B. Petro's Palace Items to find: Wind Card, Light Card Go to the second floor of the bar. Someone there asks if you're Pharus. Once you say yes (if you say, no, he'll just keep asking), soldiers come and march you onto the Niguren cable car. It lets you off at Petro's palace. Go inside. Petro is none other than the strange man you saw when you found the treasures! He'd tried to warn you against taking the treasures, but his signal wasn't able to get through. And now you may have caused the destruction of the entire world! The destruction of Undel was only the first step in the real Grand Unification. The Grand Unification will mean death to everyone living on the planet. Surface dwellers could not have activated the treasures- only you could have. And without you, the Grand Unification could not have begun. Granada awakened you for the sole purpose of finding the treasures and starting the Unification. Granada himself makes an appearance. He rants about how he is going to wipe the planet clean of everything, and no one, not even you or Petro, can stop him. But Petro says there's still a way to stop the Unification, and only you can do it. There are seven Seals on the surface of Eltz. If you collect all seven, you'll have enough energy to stop the Unification. Talk to the guards again and they'll take you back to Downtown. They suggest you go see Jimbal. If you do, he'll tell you that Brezas' eyes can be fixed with the Daruru Glasses. Daruru can be found in Gavana Mine. Go to Brezas' shop and talk to his daughter. She'll ask you to go to Gavana Mine and get the Daruru Glasses for her. If you agree, she'll give you the Spark Lamp. --B. Gavana Mine Recommended elementals: Fire, Light Items to find: Light Door Flute Short Boots Daruru Glasses 1000G Mother of Life H Spear First Seal Nonsense Hammer Hi-bottle Go south to Gavana mine. The miners have stopped work. According to the foreman, the protector of the mine, Daruru, has suddenly been angered. First, you come to a room of bridges over a hole. If you step off the bridge, you'll fall into the room below. There's some chests there, and you don't take any damage, so might as well do it at least once. Some of the chests are trapped. Use Zuzan against these. They give 1000G! At the tracks, get in the mine car to ride to the next room. At the intersections, press the direction key to steer. You only have a few seconds to decide, so be quick. Go left at the first branch to get to Daruru. A few floors down, you find the First Seal, just floating there. That was easy! But you still have to deal with Daruru and get the glasses. In various rooms, you find mine workers collapsed. They live just long enough to talk to you. If you encounter a giant pink blob monster, only attack it with magic, or it will spew little blob monsters. At the bottom, you find Daruru, who claims to have been put here as God of the Mine. He recognizes you, and has been waiting for you. He's realized the time of Lord Granada has come. Since you're Granada's enemy, he attacks. Fighting Daruru: Fire is useless, but Light does well. He has various fire-based attacks. If he turns away, he's about to unleash a big one. After you beat him, you can take the Daruru Glasses. Beating Daruru causes a bit of a stir among the miners. Since Daruru was a god, only another god could have beat him. Does that mean you're a god? Haha, that's absurd. But now that Daruru's gone, what will happen to the mine? Bring the Daruru Glasses to Brezas. He can see again! He'll give you a choice of two rewards: A bromide of his daughter or citizenship papers (a bromide is a fancy expensive photograph). If you pick the Bromide, he'll actually give you one, and he'll give you citizenship papers as a free bonus. Go to the tunnel to Glouster and show the guard your papers. He'll think they're real and let you through. ---8. Eltz/Glouster/Reself, The Second Seal --A. Glouster Items to find: 14000G Fire Card Light Card Wind Card Skanda-kun G Glouster is the biggest shopping district in Niguren, and possibly in all Eltz. District 1 is where the cheap shops are, but lately, they've been getting expensive, too. District 2 is home to the fancy designer shops. District 3 has the bars. District 4 has the theaters and entertainment. If you go to the restaurant on the bottom level of district 2 and talk to the maitre d', you'll be shown to a table. The waiter will ask if you'd like a menu. If you answer yes, he'll bring out food, anyway (apparently, 'menu' is the name of the chef's special dish). There's also a guy called Piroshi trying to get a girl named Patoko up to his room. Designer self-inserts? Anyway, if you try to leave, the maitre d' will tell you that the food costs 10000G. You probably don't have it at this point, so you'll have to work it off in the kitchen. They'll take you to a room, and garbage will fall from the ceiling. Throw away 20 pieces and you'll be free to go. Be sure to get the 14000G out of the treasure box on your way out. Nifty stuff in District 2's bookstore: Niguren Magazine various Eltz travelogues A Lennus novel published by Fujimi Shoubo (a real company) The Lennus Guidebook from Shogakukan (I have a copy of the real one!). "Three Ways to Conquer the World" by Zaygos (the villain of Lennus 1) Unfortunately, you can't buy any of it. Niguren Magazine's (called 'Nigumaga') HQ is under the bookstore. They're preparing a piece on Tribune Petro's secret past! A pub on the 2nd level of district 3 will require you to pay 1000G just to step inside! Oh, the guy outside said it was 100G? You must have heard wrong. The drunks in another district 3 pub want to fight. Fortunately, they puke more than they attack. Fighting the drunks is a good way of getting Void elementals, once you've learned it. District 2 has the commodities exchange and the junk shop. District 3 has the Quiz Challenge. District 4 has the Kokera Theater and the Orchestra. See the Optional Games section for these. District 4 also has a burlesque show you can see for 1000G. This is where you meet Nikita, a really good merc. You can now get to the Earth Temple by going through the Green Door in district 3. --B. Reself Something had apparently happened in the village of Reself, to the north of district 1. Some are scared, some actually recommend going there. A woman named Joanna is in district 1's inn. She's very upset, so listen to her story. She's been waiting here for her husband, Jonesy, but it's been several days and he hasn't arrived. He went to Reself and hasn't returned. She begs you to go look for Jonesy. She has the Second Seal, and will give it to you if you bring him back. Once you agree, she gives you a letter for him. To get to Reself, exit via the Blue Gate in Glouster district 1. The town is populated entirely by women, including a pair who claim to be a married couple. There's a woman named Joan in the inn. She doesn't know anyone named Jonesy, but sure likes being a woman! In the NE is a house with a woman looking for a man. She asks you to sleep here. Whether you refuse or not, she drags you (the whole party!) off to bed, where... something?... happens. In the morning, you find not a woman, but a man in the bed. He's apparently shocked to find you there and demands you get out of his bed. When you leave the house, now the townspeople are all men (even the one in a dress in the bar)! The married couple is now arguing over who's going to cook and clean, since neither of them think they should have to. Go speak to "Joan". Yes, "Joan" is actually Jonesy. He went to Kaibal Tower to steal the Fumon Statue, and ever since, the village has been cursed. Every night, the entire population switches genders. He still doesn't want to go back to Niguren, though. Apparently, he likes getting in touch with his feminine side. You show him the letter from Joanna. Seeing how much Joanna loves him changes his mind. He gives you the Fumon Statue and asks you to put it back in Kaibal Tower. That should undo the curse. --C. Kaibal Tower. Recommended elementals: Fire, Light Items to find: 2000G Elemental Hat Short Boots Fur Coat Tunic Hard Robe Holy Rod Triple Arrow Hi-Bottle Graphi Seed Kaibal Tower is on the north side of Reself. On some floors, there are searchlights. If you get caught by one, you get attacked. On the others, the floor flashes red and blue. Don't step on the parts that are lit up. On the fourth floor are some computer terminals. These toggle the size and speed of the searchlights. On the top floor, there's one last alarm, and the monster Delafoi attacks. Fighting Delafoi: Fire spells work well. Wind and Light do very little. He can do ~225 damage to
the entire party, and one of his attacks restores his HP. Weapons only do mediocre damage, although Gond's spear/hammer and spikes seemed to be the exception. After you beat him, put the Fumon Statue on the dais. You hear something moving elsewhere in the tower. Outside, Reself is back to normal. In the married couple's house, the husband is doing the cleaing (with the promise of a shoulder rub when he's done). The little boy who wanted to play doctor is now a little girl who wants to play nurse. The dancing girl in the pub is actually a girl. The woman who dragged you into bed is really a guy. Jonesy is disappointed that he can't be a woman, any more, but he leaves to return to his wife. Go back to Niguren and talk to the wife. She says that ever since Jonesy returned, he's been kinder, like he understands a woman's feelings better. True to her word, she gives you the Second Seal. ---9. Eltz/Kamui, The Third Seal BRING MYRA! BRING MYRA! BRING MYRA! BRING MYRA ON THIS QUEST! GO GET MYRA! NOW! --A. Kamui Several days ago, a wounded soldier coming from Kamui arrived in district 3. He was taken to a tavern on the bottom level. Talk to the woman there. She'll ask if you have a Graphi Seed (you should have found it in Kaibal Tower). Give it to her and she takes you inside. The wounded mercenary is lying in the bed. He's a regular at her pub. Several days ago, he was brought here, wounded and poisoned. You feed him the Graphi Seed, hoping it will help. The man wakes up. He rambles about Kamui Town. Gilrey Zokk has attacked the town and he begs you to do something. He manages to give you a Passport to Kamui Town before he passes away. The bartender mourns. He was more than just a regular- they'd planned to open a shop together and have children. To get to Kamui, exit Glouster through the Green Gate in district 3. As you enter, a man rushes up and begs you to help. A giant machine has literally torn the town in half! He begs you to enter the giant crack and destroy the machine.` The machine belongs to Gilrey Zokk, who is looking for some kind of stone. A local boy led him to the city, not knowing who he was. Now he's using the machine to dig. --B. You can walk there when then fire isn't shooting up, but if you touch the fire, all party members will drop to 1 HP. At the bottom, you find a room with boulders near the wall. Approach the boulders and the digging machine (Moggler, a pun on mogura, meaning 'mole') breaks through. Fight the machine! Fight Moggler: Moggler is a machine, so Light works well. The others are useless. It can do ~300 points of damage to one character, and can attack with all three elements. After several rounds, it will start attacking multiple times per round. After you beat Moggler, you can enter the machine. Does the music sound familiar (wait for it)? If you played Lennus 1, it should. Geek-gasm! (for me, anyway...) Don't go up the elevator yet! Go to the right and there a bottle refiller! Gilrey Zokk is waiting in the control room. But you're too late! He's already found the seal! He heard you were looking for them and came here ahead of you. No one will interfere with Granada's plans for Unification! Fighting Gilrey Zokk: Light is best. Fire is okay if you've got levels high enough (MYRA!) and wind is useless. He can do ~225 damage, sometimes to the whole party. His buzzsaw attacks do random damage, sometimes damaging himself, too! If Myra is in your party now, she'll leave. She's had her revenge on Gilrey Zokk, avenged her parents and brother. She feels she should be happy, should finally be able to mourn her family, but she only feels empty. Revenge was the only thing she lived for and now it's gone. She decides to leave, and find something to fill the hole in her heart left by her desire for revenge. She promises you'll meet again if she can find that something. Go get the Third Seal. Once you do, there's a flash of light and Moggler is thrown out of the hole. The crack closes and Kamui is whole. The people of Kamui decide to make Moggler a tourist attraction, complete with toys and special cocktails. And the earth only shakes if you drink too many cocktails. If you go back to the dead soldiers' fiancee's bar, you'll find it open for business again. The fiancee wants nothing more to do with men or love, to the disappointment of her customers. ---10. The get there, you'll need to go outside from district 3, and around past Kamui to the Silver Gate. Lejuna is basically Niguren's suburbs. Everyone dreams of building a house here. The houses are all made of House Eggs, built by the builder Gantetsu. You can find him in a house near the gate, if you want to build your own house. See the Optional Games section for this. You can buy a Railway Pass at the railway station. Once you have one, you can ride the railway anywhere in Niguren. Very handy! Lejuna also has the biggest library in Niguren, and if it's the biggest in Niguren, it's the biggest in the world. You can read the books on the shelves. Some give clues to where the seven Seals are: The First Seal is inside a mine. The Second Seal is in a lonely woman's hand. The Third Seal is in a giant crevice. The Fourth Seal is in the cradle of a giant tree. The Fifth Seal is where the water flows underground. The Sixth Seal is held by one of noble blood. The Seventh Seal is in the lair of an evil god. The Eighth Seal is in the heart of Undel. Eighth? Wait a minute... In the school, there's a groups of kids, including one names Pocus, trying to egg on a boy names Chezta to prove his courage by going to the Haunted House. Chezta says not to worry about it- they're just acting out a scene in an RPG they just played (guess which one!) In a large house in the center, you'll find a man name Bal who claims he used to be the Tribune of Niguren, just like his father and grandfather before him. But then Petro came from nowhere and took the title and the palace from him. No one believes him... A number of people in the town are looking for something. Make a note of what each one wants. The Great Tree is the nifty round thing in the middle of the forest. It's a maze, and the monsters are noticably tougher than before, but there aren't any puzzles or tricks. Just keep spiraling up the tree until you reach Gander. Fighting Gander: Fire works great, Wind is okay and Light is useless. His attacks can do ~325 damage to the entire party. Use the computer terminals to lower the water level and unblock the door. At the end of a long staircase, you find the Sewer Guardian. Fighting the Sewer Guardian: It's weak against Light and strong against Fire. It does Wind attacks and can absorb HP. Bring Carat, or have a strong enough Light elemental, and it's not a hard fight, at all. ---12. Eltz/Hammond Hill, The Sixth Seal --A. Scavenger Hunt A rich collector named Golturk has the Sixth Seal, and he's perfectly willing to give it to you. The problem is, he's lying on it, and he's gotten so fat that he can't move! You'll have to help him move if you want the seal. He's tried all kinds of magic and charms, but nothing has worked. But maybe the legendary Kowloon's Belt will. Remember all the people looking for stuff in Lejuna? Go back there. First, the boy in the mansion north of your house has come home from his school in the White Cross Church, but his father is out somewhere. He wants you to tell him to come home. You'll find the father, Cornelius, waiting in line for Abel Bread. Tell him his son is home, and he'll rush back to his house. In return for telling him, he'll let you have his place in line. You'll get there just in time to get the last piece of bread. Abel gives it to you for free since you're the last customer of the day. Next, the bedridden old woman just NW of your house (or the empty space where it will be, if you haven't done that yet). She wants to eat some Abel Bread one more time before she dies. Give her the bread and she'll give you the Indra Statue. Go to Golturk's mansion and talk to the statue collector. The Indra Statue is the last one he needs to complete his collection. He trades you the Ura Pendant for it. He'll also mention wanting a picture of a pretty girl to add to his collection. If you got the Bromide from Brezas, he'll give you 1000G for it. Go talk to Stork, the boy in the sewer. He'll trade the Eternal Ring for the Ura Pendant. Now go to the house in Lejuna where the wife is spanking her husband for losing his wedding ring while washing the pots. Return the ring to her and she'll give you the stick she was spanking him with, the Staff of Orphe. Go to the library in the SE corner of Lejuna and give the staff to the old librarian. He's lost his cane and can't walk without one. Talk to him again and he'll give you the Book of Kamedora. Take the book to the school, just north of the library, and give it to a teacher in the NE room. She'll give you the Canema Key in return. Go to the big house in the NW. There's a man trying to get into one of the safes. He claims he lost his key. Give him the key and he'll open the safe. But there's nothing inside but junk. He gives you the "junk" and jumps off through the ceiling. The junk is actually the Kowloon Belt! Give Golturk the belt. He floats! Now you can get the Sixth Seal, and Golturk can eat as much as he wants. ---13. Eltz/Peace Hill, the Seventh Seal --A. The two churches Items to find: Metal Card Earth Card Wind Ring Tornado Staff Elemental Hat Take the southwest tunnel from Lejuna to get to Peace Hill. Peace Hill is home to the White Cross Church and the Black Cross Church, the right and left hands of God. White Cross worships Maeve and Black Cross worships Granada. Yes, that Granada. The White Cross Church is looking for someone who can fight. You fit that description, so go see them. Talk to the priest in the White Cross Church. He'll ask if you're strong, and if you're a hero. If you answer yes, he'll insist on some proof and fight you. Use Light spells if you have them. After you beat him, he'll give thanks to Maeve for answering his prayer. Now they can retrieve the Seventh Seal from the evil Black Cross Church. Once he finds out who you are, he freaks out again. The prophecy has come true! He takes you to see the High Priest, Pasco. Pasco knows all about you and has been waiting for you to come. He asks you to retrieve the Seventh Seal from Doran Doran temple. The prophecy says that the champions of the White Cross and Black Cross must fight for it, and the Black Cross Church has already sent their own champion to Doran Doran to get the seal. You must get it before he does. From another priest, you hear the legend: Raiga had two gods- Maeve, the god(dess?) of Life, and Granada, the god of Destruction. After a long time, the gods will finally enter a final battle. Granada sent his son, Pharus (that's you!) to bring about the Great Unification. But Pharus discovered his mistake and fought for Maeve, to protect Eltz and Lennus. But the priest doesn't know what "Lennus" is... I wonder if we'll find out. --B. Doran Doran Go up the stairs to the top of the church, then exit. Doran Doran is directly south. Pharus has to go in alone, and you can't save inside. It's a maze, with Black Church priests wandering around in it. If any of them catch you, you have to fight. Magic isn't much use against them. They have about 3000 HP and an do about 500 HP of damage, so they're pretty tough, but beatable. If you have the Thunder Saber, use it. Fortunately, they move in patterns, rather than chase you, so it may be possible to avoid them. Once you get the Seventh Seal, you're transported out of the maze. ---14. Undell revisited: The Eighth Seal Take the seven seals to Petro's castle. There are some more people there now. One of them says he's been working in the castle for more than ten years, but can't quite remember when Petro arrived. He just sort of was there one day. It's bothering him. Maybe this has something to do with the so-called crazy man, Bal, in Lejuna. Another person is Petro's cook, and she says his tastes are pretty weird, almost like he's from another planet. The other cook will feed you and fill your bottles. Show the seals to Petro. He says there's one more seal to find, and they've finally discovered where it is- Undell! But Undell is in danger. The first step in the Great Unification is Undell's destruction, and there's no time left. He shows you a teleporter that will take you to Undell. --A. Gwandel Items to find: Skanda-kun G Fire Card Earth Card The teleporter sends you to Gwandel, but it's changed. Everything's in ruins. People tell you that after the Unification started and the continents joined, fires broke out and houses were swallowed up by giant holes. Revnant and Gondoarta have already been destroyed. It was supposed to bring happiness to everyone! They beg you to tell them what happened. Others panic in the streets. The wife of the guy who wanted your autograph is there, and she thinks her husband is dead. The survivors from Revnant and Gondoarta have taken shelter in the inn. Valgan and the others who escaped Folga are wishing they'd died there instead of being killed by earthquakes and fire. Kei, the kid who made you a fanclub is hiding in autograph guy's house. He can't find his mother. She went out to see the Unification and never returned. The High Priest is in the pub. He raves that the prophecy was all a lie. If he's known what would happen, he would have killed you before you could awaken. Remember the Gwanji eggs you got for Ben? All his birds were killed by the fires. The poor guy has nothing left to live for. --B. Volcano cave Recommended elementals: Fire, Light Items to Find: Battle Jacket Earth Card 7500G Warrior Ring Fire Card Ancient Relic Go through Ben's house and you'll find a cave. One of the priests tried to escape through it, but it was too long and filled with monsters, so he's stuck. Follow the cave down until you get to a tunnel with a guard. The guard tells you you can't save past this room. Save there and continue. Inside is a room filled with lava. There, one of Granada's followers, Gege, appears. He tells you it's your fault the underground world is being destroyed, so you should die with it. He calls a monster, Gord, who traps you on the island and sinks the paths leading to it. But you're not trapped. Igres, the gold giant, wades through the lava toward you. He picks you up just as the island sinks and carries you across the lava lake. But now his body is melting! He says goodbye and sinks into the lava, glad that he could help his "god" one more time. Keep going. Gege and Gord show up again, this time to fight. Fighting Gege and Gord: Light is the only magic that is any use. He can do ~500 damage to the whole party. After a few rounds, he'll start randomly attacking one specific player, too, for twice that. Near the end, he'll start sucking up lava to restore ~3500 HP. After beating Gege and Gord, you can get the 8th Seal. You get a transmission from Petro, saying to jump into the light, and a light door appears. Go into it. Once you do, the cave and the rest of Undel sinks into the lava. Undel is destroyed... Yes, everyone you fought to save in the first chapter- Ben the birdkeeper, Kei and the kids in your fanclub, all the people who survived Folga, Igres, the priests who worshipped you, the guy who just wanted your autograph. They're all dead, they died a horrible death, and it's all because of you. Happy gaming! But when you get back, Petro isn't there, and neither is anyone else. While you were gone, the castle was attacked by Granada's henchmen and Petro was taken. One of the cooks jumps down from the ceiling, where she'd been hiding. Everyone is dead, but she was hiding in the ceiling and escaped. She gives you the Machine Key, which opens the locked door in Petro's chamber. --C. The Ancient Machine Recommended elementals: All Items to find: Heavy Armor Bouquet of Life Earth Card Contrabass Ah, there's that music again! The place is a maze, but you eventually want to get to Area J. Go up the long stairs and talk to the priest there. You won't be able to save past Area J. Four of Granada's followers, Balrod, Bijold, Buzoo and Beltz, appear in Area M. They taunt you about what you did to the people of Undel- yes, they still died, killed by fire and lava and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT. They demand that you hand over the eight Seals, and in exchange they'll let you live until the Unification is completed. Of course you refuse, and the fight is on. Fighting the four Angels of Unification: Bijold (top) is weak against Light. Buzoo (left) is weak against Wind. Balmod (right) is weak against fire. They all do about the same damage, but with different elements. Beltz is weakest against physical attacks, so get rid of him first. After you win the fight, they reveal their trump card- they've captured Petro, and threaten to kill him if you do anything. They're impressed with your strength- just what would be expected from an Ecto Raiga. However, they won't let you interfere with the Unification. They demand the Seals, or they'll let Petro die. If you refuse, they'll just keep asking, so say yes. Beltz takes the seals. Now he's going to Lennus to make the final preparations. They disappear, taking Petro with them. Fill your bottles at the machine and activate the panel at the north end of the room. The system doesn't recognize you, and activates the defense system. Fighting the Big Machines: Light seems to work best on all of them. They attack with different elements, but all do about the same damage. After beating the machines, take the transporter. Pasco and the White Cross Church priests are waiting for you. He gives you a message from Petro: There's a mirage palace in the desert, and someone named Midia is waiting for you there. If anything happens to him, you and Midia are the only hope of stopping the Unification. Pasco doesn't know anything about Midia, but there is a desert to the west. The winner recieves his own Geran, but they don't think a foreigner like you has a chance at winning. To join the Geran race, talk to the guy at the track in the NW corner. He'll rent you a geran for 100G. To make the geran run, push down twice on the keypad. Press the B button to make it jump over cracks. It'll need to be running to jump over cracks, but if you keep it running for too long, it'll get tired and stop. Win the race and you'll get a geran. Once there, you hear someone calling for help. It's Midia. Granada trapped her in her own palace. To free her, you'll need to deactivate all four barriers. Take the stairs to the south and take the teleporters to the barrier switches. To switch them off, push the movable pillars onto the spinning red tiles. Ever play Sokoban? If you push the pillar somewhere you can't get it out, leave the room and come back and it will be back at the starting point. After turning them all off, go talk to Midia. She tells you some history. A long time ago, the gods of Raiga created Eltz. She and Petro are their descendants. But the gods were split on what to do with Eltz. Some, like her and Petro, wanted to let all its creatures live in peace. The other faction, Granada's faction, sees Raiga dying and wants to sacrifice Eltz in order to save themselves. There is another world like Eltz, far away in the sky and miraculously beautiful. This world is Lennus! Granada wants to combine Eltz and Lennus, making another sun, like Soa. This is the purpose of the Great Unification. And you, an Ecto Raiga created by Granada, were meant to be the key to starting it. But thankfully, you've seen the truth. She and Petro came to Eltz to keep an eye on you and Granada. She tells you to go to the middle of Eltz's ocean, to place called the Navel of the Sea, where another ally is waiting. She gives you a Rainbow Seed so he'll know to trust you. For now, she'll stay and protect the Mirage Palace, as it's the last hope for stopping the Unification. ---16. Eltz/ The Sea Hemisphere --A. Solage Items to find: Heart of Protection T Sky Card Fighting Man V Water Card Get back on your geran and ride north from El Jerumi to Solage, a port town. It's full of sailors, but they can't sail very far, due to monsters from Zil Island attacking the boats. Rumor has it that somewhere in town is a map of the ocean that can show you where a giant fish named Zolban is. There is supposedly a great treasure in its stomach. A woman named Meruru says her fiance, Neru, went to find it and hasn't returned. The lighthouse keeper tells you a story about Lennus. Supposedly, Lennus was another world on the other side of Raiga, blocked from view, But recently, a smaller blue world has been seen peeking out from behind Raiga, and he thinks that's Lennus. It's getting closer. Maybe it will hit Eltz. A man hiding behind some boxes on the north side offers to sell you something good for 150G. He thinks it's just a scrap of paper, but it's really a world map! Press the Y button to see where you are. And sure enough, it also shows where Zolban is. Go through the northern hut to the dock and talk to the man by the boat. He says he'll give it to you. Last night, a beautiful goddess came to him in a dream and told him to lend his boat to the one who came asking about it. He likes to think of himself as faithful and religious, so he's not going to disobey a goddess. He can't sail right now, anyway, as he hurt his shoulder in a storm. Board the boat and head out to sea. --B. Zil Island Items to find: Snare Drum Sky Card Wind Card Adult Swimsuit The only place you can go is Zil Island. Keep going up. Don't worry about the ladders, yet. Eventually, you'll come to a raft. Ride the raft downstream, using the keypad to turn when the river forks. If you hit a dead end, use the ladder to get out and go back up. Be sure to check near the trees for the Adult Swimsuit. Keep steering the raft to the left, and it'll dump you right on top of the boss monster, Water Ghost. Fighting Water Ghost: Light works well, Fire isn't much use. Make sure your bottles are nice and full, because it can do ~1000 points of damage. Once the water ghost is gone, the barriers around the island will drop and you can sail to the outer sea. See the Side Quests section for Zolgan. --C. Navel of the Sea and Gravity Tower Items to find: Commando Suit Great Shield Sail to a little island in the middle of the ocean. There is a tower there. In front of it, you'll find Piaz, another Raigan, assigned to watch Granada by Petro and Midia. But he failed, and now Gravity Tower is infested with monsters. However, they haven't been able to destroy the Gravity Rainbow, and if you have a Rainbow Seed, you can activate it. The Gravity Rainbow is a bridge between Eltz and Lennus. Piaz will refill your bottles if you ask. Climb the Gravity Tower. At the top, examine the hole in the floor to use the Rainbow Seed and activate the Gravity Rainbow. This is the picture on the cart package, if you're lucky enough the have a cart. While traveling the rainbow, running into an asteroid or a flying saucer will trigger a fight. You can't use items, but catching an angel with a cross flag will heal you. Catching coins gets you money! ---17. Lennus/ The Sky Boat --A. Reyold Items to find: Water Card Light Door Earth Card The music should be a bit familiar to Lennus 1 players (squeeeeeeee!). You land near Reyold, which you may recognize as the home of Chezni, hero of Lennus 1. People there still revere him as the saviour of the world. One of them claims to be his old friend who lent him money. People here are just as worried as those on Eltz were. Strange things are happening here, too. The famous midair temple in Jurayne has even fallen. As if that weren't enough, weird castles have sprung up, with people claiming to be gods from Raiga living in them. You can find Chezni's mother's house in the SW. She thinks you look like her son. She hasn't seen him in more than 10 years and wonders where he is. --B. Undersea Cave and the Sky Boat Items to find: Heart of Protection T Void Card Mechani Body Head south from Reyold to the cave. At the bottom of the cave is an elevator, leading inside the Sky Boat. At the top floor, put your hand on the panel to awaken it. The Sky Boat floats out of the cave, and now you can fly wherever you want. ---18. Lennus/ Balmod --A. Ratsurk Items to find: Void card Fighting Man V Heart of Protection T Earth Card Mother of Life H Goddess of Wisdom E Fly directly south to Ratsurk. Ratsurk is the traditional home of the Guudo tribe, but now it's famous for being where the hero Midia grew up. Mercenaries from all over gather here. The family that raised Midia lives in the big tent on the west side. It is also the home of the Magic School. The principal of the school has been waiting for you. A little while ago, Midia came to him in a dream and told him about you. Granada's minions are already here on Lennus. They call themselves gods. The only way to stop the Unification is to get the Seals back from them. Balmod is here on Nasquot (the northern continent). Buzoo and Bijold are on Sasquot. Beltz is in the floating fortress, which you can't reach now. The four are strong, and the principal recommends you go to the Training Mountain to the south, to increase your Elemental powers. See the Side Quests section for this. It's pretty tough. --B. Jurayne Items to find: Sky Card Fire Orb Skanda-kun G Jurayne is southeast of Ratsurk. If you've played Lennus 1, you probably remember Jurayne as home of the magnificent midair temple shaped like a giant flower. Unfortunately, that temple has fallen and the city is in ruins. The Raigans destroyed Jurayne as payback for helping Chezni. One of the bar patrons mentions that the sage Daphne, who lives in a cave to the west, may have found a way to defeat the Raigans. Go see the mayor at the top of what's left of the midair temple. The rest of the citizens seem to think you're one of Balmod's bunch, but the mayor recognizes you as an ally of Chezni. He tells you how not long ago, the castle in the north appeared, and Raigans came, claiming that they'd take over all of Lennus, starting with Jurayne. Jurayne's temple was destroyed to punish the city for helping Chezni. When you agree to get rid of Balmod, the mayor tells you about the Fire Orb in the basement of the temple. With that, you can enter Balmod's castle. Go down and take the other elevator to the basement. You'll find the Fire Orb a few floors down. --C. Daphne's Cave Items to find: Mega-bottle Indeed, Daphne has some good advice. You'll find her house east of Jurayne. She says Petro told her all about you, many years ago. Petro himself came to ask her advice, a long time ago, too. Lennus 1 players will remember her. According to her, Balmod is a plant creature, making him weak against Fire. His castle is north of Jurayne. Bijold is an insect, making her weak against Light. Her castle is southwest of Mist. Buzoo is a mammal, making him weak against Wind. His castle is south of Consisto. The tunnel in Daphne's Cave leads to Sasquot. You'll need this, later. --D. Balmod's Castle Recommended Elementals: Fire, Metal, Sky Items to find: Sage Mask First Seal Giga Gauntlet Second Seal Seriously, bring Myra and equip the Fire Elemental, because EVERYTHING in here is weak against it. Balmod's castle is the green hut north of Jurayne. Use the Fire Orb at the base of the purple tree, and the door will be opened. You'll find Balmod at the top level, where the music changes. He asks if you'll stop resisting and join them in bringing about the Unification. Naturally, you say no, so the fight is on. Cue new boss music! Fighting Balmod: FIRE! FIRE! A Zuzan spell cast by a character with a maxed Fire Elemental does about 4000 damage! Balmod attacks multiple times per round, and does about 1300 points of damage. Once you beat Balmod, you can retrieve the first two Seals. ---19. Lennus/ Bijold --A. Mist Items to find: Water Card Goddess of Wisdom E Head back to Daphne's Cave, and go through the tunnel. You'll end up on Sasquot. Go south to Mist. People there are worried about Bijold, whose castle is to the south. Apparently, there's nothing but women instead her lair. And, strangely enough, Bijold herself is a fan of Zalan's bakery, and often sends her minions to buy bread. If you've played Lennus 1, you may remember Zalan as a character in love with Joyce, Mist's former baker who was executed for helping Chezni and Midia. Zalan's shop is the building without a sign. He's still making bread in the same tradition as Joyce. But he's all out for the day, so he has nothing to sell you. Go around the back and speak to him. He won't mind. He tells you that Bijold's minions always repeated a pattern: Red, Red, Red, Blue, Green. Better remember it. --B. Bijold's Cave and Bijold's Lair Items to find: Void Card Wizard Ring Bomb-bottle Zaygos Killer Sky Card Earth Card Mechani-arm X Mechani-energy Hell Whip Head SE from Mist to the Bijold's Cave. Go through it to the inner forest (you won't be able to land the Sky Boat there). When you try to open the door to Bijold's Lair, you're asked for 5 buttons. Press the buttons on the controller like the pattern you got from Zalan- red, red, red, blue, green. Enter the right sequence and the door will open. The place is like a beehive, with identical cells all connected. Making a map might be useful. Yes, I'm pretty sure the Aurora Moon monsters inside are supposed to be a Sailor Moon reference. The game came out at about the same time as the original TV series, after all. Fighting Bijold: Hey, she gets her own music! Kekan can do around 4000 damage if cast by a good-level character. Her whip can do ~400 damage to multiple characters. Once you beat her, you can take two more of the Seals. ---20. Lennus/ Buzoo --A. Consisto Items to find: Light Door Mother of Life H Buzoo's Feast Head east from Bijold's Cave to Consisto. As soon as you enter, a woman named Kina will run up and gush about how cute you are before giving you a kiss. She'd like to travel with someone as cute as you, but her husband gets jealous. If this seems like a non-sequitur, it's a reference to events in Lennus 1- When you enter Consisto for the first time, Kina forcibly joins your party, bumping out the last person in line, and it doesn't end well. The people here are still loyal to Zaygos, and have now pinned their hopes on Granada and the Four Angels. In fact, if you go a bit farther east, you can find a sign marking the remains of Zaygos' castle. They're especially fans of Buzoo, who is apparently a big eater and has food delivered every day. You can find the cooks preparing the food in one of the houses. Take the meal from the table. --B. Buzoo's Lair Items to find: Tough-bottle Mechani-head 77 Sprout Sword Take the meal to Buzoo's Lair, on the snowy plateau south of Consisto. If you have the meal, the guards will let you in. The floor is icy, and you'll slip if you step on the ice tiles. Fighting Buzoo: Okay, not the most intimidating music around, but don't let that fool you. Like his predecessors, he has a huge weakness- Lelan can do ~4000 points of damage. If he jumps on you, it does ~500 point of damage to everyone. After a few rounds, he'll flex his muscles and start doing ~1000 damage to one character. His punch attack can do up to 9999 damage if all the attacks are on the same character! Fighting Buzoo, round 2: After you beat him the first time, he'll take the meal from your bag and eat it. This gives him enough strength to fight again. Luckily, he's a fair guy, and let's you eat some, too, so you're all healed up. The second round goes just like the first. After beating him the second time, take the two Seals. ---21. Lennus/ Beltz --A. Raigan Outpost Beltz's castle is protected by a shield. You'll need some help to get through. Go find an island in the middle of the sea, about where the Gravity Tower was on Eltz. There is the outpost of the remaining Raigans on Lennus. Talk to the man by the elevator upstairs. If you have six of the Seals, he'll give you a Barrier Neutralizer. As soon as you leave with the Barrier Neutralizer, a huge shadow passes over the entire planet. Lennus and Eltz are almost close enough to collide! The Unification is starting! You'd better hurry! --B. Beltz's Lair Items to Find: Knit Tights Heart of Protection T Mechani-arm XX Great Armor Sage Robe Chaos Armor Fly into Beltz's Lair on the Sky Boat. You get a closeup look at it now, and it's pretty cool. Go up the maze of stairs until you get to the door to the big tower. There's a bottle filler there and you'll probably need it. Go out the bottom of the tower and follow the stairs north and east to the next tower. Beltz is at the top. He says that in killing Balmod, Bijold and Buzoo, you killed your own blood. Eltz, Lennus and everything on them are nothing but toys they made. Just dolls given life by the Raigans. So what's wrong if they want to take it back? You're a Raigan, too, and your home planet is dying. Destroying Eltz and Lennus will save it. Petro manages to send a tranmission urging you to fight. All life deserves a fighting chance. Fight to save Eltz and Lennus! Fighting Beltz: All elements work decently well, but Fire works best. His spells are pretty powerful, so having someone with Supitoru or Speras' Belly is useful. After a while, he'll start healing himself ~4000 HP per round, so be sure you can do more damage than that! After you beat him, Beltz says you can have Petro and the Seals. But the Seals no longer have any power. The Great Unification is complete! Other Raigans come and take Petro. Go up the stairs and take the last two Seals. When you do, Petro sends another transmission. This is the last chance. Take the Seals to his palace. There's a secret passage there. Take it and defeat Granada! But how are you supposed to get to Petro's palace back on Eltz? Go outside and take a look at your map! The Unification is complete, just as Beltz said! Both Eltz and Lennus are now accessible. ---22. Unification If you talk to some people, they'll say they can hear something burning beneaththe ground. That's not a good sign. Go see Pasco at the White Cross Church. He says Petro has been taken to the Mirage Palace and his wounds are being tended to. Petro left a letter for you- Granada is in the Throne of the Gods. If you don't stop him soon, both worlds will be engulfed in fire. Take the underground transport tube in his palace. It leads to the Throne of the Gods. --A. Secret Transport Station Items to find: Giga-bottle Go to Petro's Castle. A robot meets you there. It's gotten orders from Petro and has opened up the stairway to the underground transport station. Below is a room with eight slots. Put a Seal in each one and a staircase will appear. Go down them and get in the nifty vehicle thingy. It takes you to the Throne of the Gods. You can use it to leave the Throne of the Gods, too, in case you need to restock or rebuild your Mechanids. --B. Throne of the Gods Items to find: Fist of Fury Ether Boots Full Moon Helmet Knife Boots Bloody Whip Power Shield Mechani-body GR Ether Helmet Ether Shield Ether Blade Oooh, heroic music! You'll meet Richter Jr., a pretty good merc, just as you enter. It's about the same place you met his father in Lennus 1. The Brahman/Atman monster pair can regenerate if one is beaten and the other still alive. There's a robot that offers to sell you some seriously expensive stuff. First, the Ether Boots for 95000G, then the Ether Helmet for 120000G, then the Ether Shield for 145000G, then the Ether Armor for 175000G, and finally the Ether Blade for 200000G. It sounds like an impossible amount of money, but the monsters in this dungeon drop some pretty expensive stuff, as well as some good Mechanids parts. It takes some grinding, but it's doable. You needed to build up Richter Jr.'s Void elemental, anyway, and the Ether Blade is totally worth it. If you get impatient, there's always the option of ganking equipment off mercs you don't use, any more, and selling it. At the top of the mountain, you meet Granada himself. He reiterates his plan to combine Eltz and Lennus into a new star. But you can still stop it if you kill him now. He invites you to fight him, and you're happy to oblige, but there's a problem- he's protected by the energy circle over his head. Petro and Midia see your plight. They send doubles to help you. They can only keep them alive for a short time, so you'd better act fast! Fighting Granada: All magic seems to work about the same, and physical attacks work well, too. Nikita with the Fist of Fury can do almost 10000 damage. Petro and Midia help out by casting Zuzan and Kekan. Granada's rings send missiles at random characters for 400-500 damage, but they might end up getting send at Petro or Midia instead of your people. Every 20000 HP or so, one of the rings around will disintegrate. Once all the rings are gone, Petro and Midia's doubles will disappear, too, but they'll use what power they have left to heal you (even Mechanids!) and fill your bottles. However, Granada isn't finished, yet... Fighting Granada, part 2: This time, he attacks twice per round. He can swallow characters, but he'll let them go after chomping on them for a round or two. But he's still not beaten. He leaves. If he stays any longer, he'll be caught in the flames, himself. He sets a barrier around the Throne of the Gods so you can't follow him and leaves in his ship. But Petro- Oops, I mean Chezni. Midia lets it slip- have a way to get you out of there. They ram the Mirage Palace into the barrier, destroying it. Granada has fled into space. The Throne of the Gods has the ability to project a Gravity Rainbow, like the tower on Eltz, and you can use this to follow Granada. Step into the light pillar to follow him. --C. Granada's Spaceship Items to find: Giga-Bottle Mechani-head 99 Spare Drug Smell of Wine You can enter and leave the ship via the Gravity Rainbow, but once you go through the door just south of the chest with the Smell of Wine, you're stuck. Some of the monsters here drop Mechani-energies! At the end of the maze, you find Granada waiting for you. Talk to him and he asks if you ever thought it strange that you had to start the underground Unification, when he couldn't, and why it had to be you, instead of Petro, who collected the Seals, and why Midia sent you to Lennus via the Gravity Rainbow. It's because you, yourself, are the keystone of the Unification. Without you, none of it could have happened. Even now that Lennus and Eltz are united, without recieving the energy inside your body, they'll not start burning. The real Unification starts when you die and your energy is released. And Granada is also a switch for the Unification. You and he are two sides of the same coin. If one dies, the Unification continues to its end. It the other dies, it is cancelled. You're the only one who can kill him and he is the only one who can kill you. Granada merges with his ship and the final battle begins. Fighting Granada: Granada has four sections- The Grand Eraser, the Raiga Thunder, the God Cannon and the Granada Face. The Grand Eraser removes all stat boosts, Raiga Thunder does elemental attacks, God Cannon does physical attacks, and Granada Face varies. Raiga Thunder is probably the most dangerous, so take it out, first. Strong physical attacks, like the Ether Blade, the Fist of Fury, or the Mechanids' Death Torpedo are all useful. Magic isn't too bad against all but Granada Face. ---23. Ending After you beat Granada, Lennus and Eltz separate again. You fall asleep again and sleep for a long time. When you awake, you're back on Eltz, in Golturk's bed. Now that you're awake again, the party can start. People you met and all the mercs you hired over the course of the game are there, and they congratulate you. Go around the mansion and the rest of Hammond Hill and see them. Golturk is there, still floating, and bragging about how comfortable his bed is. The five Terrano mercs are the last remaining of their race, now that Undel is destroyed, but they have hope of reviving it. Daphne is there, and comment on how once again, the world was saved by a mischievious boy- even though that boy is the one who put it in danger in the first place. Clayton has used the money you gave him to start a Battle Consultant business. Gond misses you and wants you to take him with you. Myra has gotten over her despair and found new purpose, thanks to you. Iris wants to travel with you again, but only if she doesn't have to fight any dirty monsters and you buy her some more presents. Nikita has returned to the theater, but is looking forward to another chance to fight. Joynas went back to the Magic School, but foundn herself casting more powerful spells than the teachers. She's bored, again. Mechanids returns to standby mode, having fulfilled its orders. Lukas has become a teacher at the Magic School. Richter Jr. told his father about you, and Richter Sr. wants to meet you. Lectus and Grantus have sort of made up. They still don't like each other, but they can work together, now. Jurayne's mayor says that if the midair temple hadn't been destroyed, they'd have had the party there (like in Lennus 1). Brezas ans his daughter have come, too. His eyes have gotten better. Yudenus is glad he finally found a wife. Pepe is still working there. Jort invites you to come work in his mine. Gossam says that there are many new kinds of fish, thanks to the Unification, and he's anxious to catch them. Pasco gives you a blessing. The ghosts in the Haunted House hope their items were useful. The orchestra conductor doesn't want you talking to him- he's trying to listen to the music. The autograph guy is in the Haunted House. Even though he doesn't remember who he is or how he got there, he still wants your autograph! The Elemental Spirits sent one of their number to congradulate you. Jessica is glad that Granada is defeated and Jimbal can rest in peace. The Gubo taxi is there, but it's not running, today. Rab and Gon Garus are expecting a child, and they'll be sure to tell it all about you. A woman in the shops tells you your record for House Egg collection. One of the drunks from the bar is there, but he doesn't want to fight a hero. When you're done talking to everyone, find Petro, Midia and Piaz waiting by the SKy Boat. Petro says that Lennus and Eltz have returned to their orbits. Undell is still gone, and that's a tragedy, but the rest of the world is saved. He and Midia will be returning to Raiga. As Raigans, that is their home. And as an Ecto Raiga, it is yours, too. All the tragedies that happened on Lennus and Eltz started on Raiga, and that is where their hope must start, too. They're going to Raiga to try to bring that hope. He wants you to come with them. Midia explains that the term Ecto Raiga has two meanings. One is 'Life of the Earth', a symbol of the life flowing through the planet. The other is 'god of nightmares', a heartless diety from folklore with no concept of good or evil. You and Granada both were Ecto Raige. Granada waited in Raiga while you slept in Eltz. Granada woke a little earlier than you. Even though you weren't meant to have hearts, you did. Granada's brought destruction, while yours saved the world. But who woke you and Granada? Who created the Unification in the first place? This enemy is who she and Petro must fight. Talk to Petro again, once you've talked to everyone. You all board the SKy Boat and head to the next adventure on Raiga. Congradulations! You have finished Lennus 2!
