OUTLINE
1. INTRODUCTION
Penguin Land is a mildly interesting little puzzle game that even has a bit
of weird physics in it. You play as a Penguin who must drop his egg(which
bobbles back and forth like eggs do in real life) down 55 rows without it
breaking. There is an obligatory enemy(a bear) and even a weird phantom that
gobbles your egg if you go too slowly. But the types of blocks are what make
the puzzles. Your penguin can dig left and right a la Lode Runner. There are
blocks to push, super solid blocks, floating island blocks, blocks that drop
a crushing door, and half-broken blocks. Some even only allow a penguin or an
egg through. There are some cute tricks such as dropping your penguin off the
bottom of the screen to appear at the top.
PL's big problem may be that it reveals too much too quickly, after which the
puzzles develop a sameness or just 'get you' based on something you couldn't
see. And the bears have more personality than your penguin. But it's pretty
fun, overall. It even has a level editor in case you feel the creators missed
a trick.
There was also a precursor on the SG-1000 that did not feature as many
different blocks and only 25 levels, but the games had some puzzles in
common.
I really recommend getting a feel for the first level solidly before moving
on. Many puzzles make you take almost all 99 seconds in a level. The slippery
controls mean you can't just move around, and if you've played Lode Runner
with one button to dig each way, it is extra confusing.
2. CONTROLS AND ENEMIES
You can't move up/down. Left/right gets you moving, though you require
momentum to stop, and you don't start pushing a boulder immediately. You fall
down any pits and if you go to the bottom, you reappear at the top, with only
your feet showing if you land on ground. You can still perform the usual
actions.
Button 1 = jump. You can change directions or push a block in midair.
Button 2 = dig in the direction you face. It takes time and a bear can run
across as you dig, and you have to move, retreat and dig to dig a few holes
in a row. You can only dig solid blocks. You can also try and shake a boulder
beneath if nothing is below it.
Your penguin moves with momentum, so watch out there. Also when he pushes the
egg you can't tap the control. It will go wobbling. The key things to note
about your egg are:
1. it will break if you land on it with blocks to the left and right
2. it will squirt off to the left or right. You can decide which way
depending on if you land to the left or right. And if you follow the egg down
a shaft, then you can still push left/right to make the egg go the other way.
3. your penguin can fall off the bottom of the screen and regenerate at the
top. Similarly it can jump off the screen and there won't be any obstacles
there. Your penguin also goes to the top after being mauled by a bear.
4. it's tough to push an egg across one of those bouncing walls. You'll
probably get killed, but it will be safe. You have to remember that if you
push the egg into a descending crusher, it's ok and you will probably be too.
But the egg itself can't go before the crusher.
5. your penguin can jump up 3 levels, and the egg can fall 3. It is buffered
if it falls on a crumbling or disappearing brick.
6. bears tend to run at you if they see you, but you can drop a brick and dig
to its side and push the brick into the corner. Bye-bye bear.
7. if an egg falls into a 1-wide pit you don't have to land on it. You can
try to dig on either side and fall in.
8. you can run over an egg in a 2-wide pit. In fact you probably will, so if
you want to kick it to the other square, it's better to jump on it.
9. while pushing the egg you are immune to the bear. Weird but true, and it
speeds the game up.
10. one other trick you can perform is to knock an egg 1U1L of you, then
knock it again, and it can roll 2R of you and down.
11. You can run an egg past a crumbly.
12. You can jar a boulder from a bove, causing it to fall.
13. If an egg wobbles 4-5?? squares at one time when you push it, it will
fall over an extra column when it drops.
14. You can jump up and push a block.
15. Bears always try to drop to the level of the egg but aren't strategic.
Whichever way they're going, they'll fall.
16. Be sure to drop the egg from the very bottom when you go to win the
level. Otherwise it will bust open and give you a nasty check back.
3. POINTS
Some of this is a bit of guesswork, given that I need to save a state and
get killed, and then do something and get killed to find if the action
actually scored points. But having played the SG-1000 version I noticed some
general rules, and the SMS seems to fall into place as well.
--0 points for each block you dig out
--50* (# of seconds) + 3000 for solving any level (5000 at level 16, 8000 at
24, 10000 at 31, 20000 at 41)
--100 points for various good stuff.
--200 points for killing a bear
--0 general progress points(i.e. make it to the next screen)

As the levels go on I'll just drop numbers as to where you should put the
egg when it involves a maneuver you've used before. But I'll try to point out
details at first so you get the hang of it.

Go right and dig under the egg. Go left then face right and dig again, then
fall and dig again. The egg should fall safely, but don't let it drop on the
moving platform. The best way to do this is dig when the platform moves back
right. Push the egg left to 1, then land on it and push left as you land so
it squirts right.
Now go half off the left edge and knock the bottom of the overhang and go
back right, so it shakes. If you kill the polar bear, great, but the
important thing is to get separation. 2-1 dig to the right to let the egg
drop. Dig the egg down some more and then push it left and right and left off
the edge. It is in the dead end at 2 now. Dig below it and to the right. Push
it off to the left and dig 1U1R, 1D1R and 1D2R of it. Now you can roll it
down the stairs. Push it to the bottom, over the crumblies. It will fall
further. Land on it, tapping right, so it lands on the egg bit. Push button 2
to make it fall and push button 2 over the penguin. Dig under the egg, fall
over it and dig, fall over it and dig.
Fall over the egg twice. You are now at 3. Dig left and push the egg to the
bottom of the stairs again by continually landing on it. Dig under it. 2-1
dig to get to the bottom.

Drop the egg down the egg hole and go to the far right. Jump over the egg,
push it right and dig over it. Dig 3-2-1 down to the right so that the egg
safely falls--to the left, it gets trapped by the crumbly. Jump over the egg,
dig 1U1R of the crumbly, push the egg in and dig under the egg. Fall on the
egg, pushing left. Dig under the egg twice. Keep it on the right, but don't
dig it over the crumbly.
You will wind up digging it back left and right and such, down the center,
and when you see the gold bits, drop on it and push left so it falls to the
right. Now go over the right gold bit that appears and disappears. Dig right
when the gold block disappears. Drop through and push the egg through the egg
square. Go off the left edge and push back right. You can go through the
penguin drop if you want but it wastes time. Push the top boulder right and
then go on it and jump right and fall right, but not too far. Push left once
you fall. Jump up and go right.You can now push the egg 1R. Go back left and
dig left and fall and dig right.
Dig the rightmost square left of the egg. Fall in, jump and push the egg
left. Dig the next two squares left. Then dig the 2 below that, push the
boulder left and dig below there. Wait for the bear to go left, then fall
through and run right, hitting the block above on the way. Push it back left-
-don't crush the bear or you might get crushed and there will be a delay--and
now you can push the egg left and dig under it to complete this level.

Push the egg 2L. Dig under it, 1R, dig left and then dig under the egg when
the platform is on the right. Jump onto the platform and knock the egg off.
Knock the block over the bear to crush him and do the same for the other one.
Then push the egg down and 2-1 dig on the left. Push the egg down the left.
You can't push it right yet, so jump over the bear and go to the right,
loosen a boulder and push it left.
Push the egg right twice and then drop the other boulder, move it to the
other side of the center, dig and drop it back in. You may nto make it the
first time, so fall from the top of the screen to make sure. Kick the egg
down the center and off to the side three times. Kick it to the very edge and
2-1 dig--you may have to dig above it to maneuver properly. Push it into the
lower corner, or almost all the way. Dig above one of the bears in the hole
and push the boulder over--first blocking the other bear out. Then a run to
the center and dig should let you drop the egg.

Drop the egg. Dig 1L of the 3 gold blocks. Fall left then right. Jump up to
knock the boulder on the bear--when you wake up from being stunned if
necessary. Push the boulder right, go down the screen and dig below the egg
so it falls through on the boulder.
Land on the egg. Push it right and dig right. Push the boulder right. Drop
the egg 1L of the right edge and then left. Dig right and then dig under the
egg--when the bear isn't moving towards it--and push it through the egg-only
hole.
Now you need to go left and fall under the boulder. Jump up to tap it and dig
right when 2L of it and push it down, then push it across the polar bears to
crush them. Jump back up to the platform with the egg. Jump on the egg and
when it goes left, be prepared to fall on it to the left so it squirts right
and you can send it down two egg hatches. Again, you may have to push the egg
from below after the bear stuns you, as you may fall through the gap.
Drop through a penguin hatch and push the boulder left over the crumblies,
between the 2 gold blocks. Dig left when the bear goes back left. Drop to the
left when the egg goes down--really hold left so you don't land on it. Go
through the penguin hole and dig right. Then fall on the egg to push it left.
Dig left and push the egg right and back left. Fall on the egg when the gold
square L 2D of it disappears. Then you can fall on the egg and dig either way
so it hits bottom.

Dig the egg R R 2L and then 3-2-1 dig to the left so it falls on the boulder.
Fall so you push it left, and then you can crush the bears each way. Push the
egg down the left crumbly then right and left. 2-1 right of the egg's pit and
then dig below the egg. Push the egg over 2 boulders and dig. Land on it so
it goes left twice. Push a boulder right. Dig 1R of the egg then jump and pus
the egg right and dig. Push it right then left over the crumbly.
Now repeat what you did before. Zigzag pushing it down so it winds up below
the alternating gold block. Push it over the crumbly, dig left, fall, dig
right and drop and dig right.

Dig the egg onto the 2nd-right of the four rocks below. Dig down the side
and push the 2nd-left into the 2nd-right so you can push the egg left. Dig
down, too. 2-1 dig down the right side(you'll push the egg right in the
narrow corridor below) and dug the egg down the right. 2-1 dig to the left
then land left of the egg and push it right then left. Push the egg left when
the squasher is 1/2 way down. Make sure the bear isn't too close, though you
can run by him with the egg. Run the egg quickly over the nxt lower bit or
the egg will fall to the bear. Leave an egg over a boulder, the right one,
and push under the boulder. Then kick the egg left and down twice.
Push the boulder right and now dig 3 squares right of the right boulder and
one left. Push the boulder left and 3.2.1 dig below. Push the egg right and
again run at the bear when he turns back right. You'll pass him with the egg.
Knock the boulder as you go by and push it right. Dig 4 holes below and drop
the egg right and 2-1 dig. Push the egg down 1 so the vulture above doesn't
drop something on it. Drop in, push the right boulder towards the center, dig
left over it, then push it to the exact center.
Push th egg to the left corner and trap the bear before continuing. You can
dig 3-2-1 to get the egg to the bottom.

Push the egg left. Then dig right 2L at the edge, fall and dig 1R. Jump over
the egg before you drop it to the bear's area. Knock the boulder from below
and then push it right onto the bear. Push the egg down. 2-1 dig to push the
boulder on the bear. Push the egg down, then when it's far right, jump on it.
dig left and push it to the left edge. Now loosen the top of the two boulders
to the left (dig u and l of it) and go to the DL and make a hole there. Push
the boulder down it and then push the egg on the boulder. Drop on the egg
going left and push it on the right boulder. Then dig the DL and dig 1R of
the boulder and push it down the hatch. Let the egg follow. Drop on the egg
and push it right. Drop it down when the platform comes back. Jump up and
kick the egg left. You may have to hit it from under, on the right.
Push the egg into the 1-wide hole. Dig right of it and push it to the bottom.
dig the 2 right of the 3 you are on, then drop the egg and dig right so the
bear can't follow. 2-1 dig between the golds and dig left under the egg. The
bear will get pulverized by the squasher. Dig the 2 squares beyond the gold
and jump on the egg to push it left. Dig it. Jump on the egg and dig it again
in and then push it right in the 3-wide and dig. Jump on it and then run by
the bear with it, knocking the boulder as you go. 2-1 dig out of there.

Push the egg left onto the gold and right and let it drop. Don't hit the
platform as you don't need to. Get to where the bears are and bust a boulder
and push it right to zap them. You can then 2-2-1 dig the egg. Just fall
through the bottom to get to the top.
Push th eegg between the center gold flashers, then bring the lower boulder
down and push it left into the gap, and repeat for the boulder above it. Kick
the egg off to the left of the platform so it is level with the top boulder.
Push the 2nd boulder in the stack left and make the egg follow. Dig down once
and push it off the side when the gold to the left starts to reappear. Drop
it right and dig a hole for it. Now dig another place and don't push the egg
onto the gold yet. Wait for the bear to go left and then take it out with a
boulder you jumped under.
Push the egg right so it is over the boulder and next to the diagonals, then
when you fall, push it right. Dig 4 on top of the boulder. Then push it right
and dig 3 to the right and 1 below them. Entrap the bear to the right and
then push the egg and dig it right.

Here you need to bring a block down quite a way, crushing enemies as you go.
Dig under the egg and push it left. Dig at te right edge and push the block
left, then 1R of it and push it left to kill bear #1. It's almost impossible
not to whenever you drop it. Jump up and push the egg 1L and dig under it.
Dig 1R of the boulder and push it left onto the next bear. Drop the block
onto the bear below. Drop the egg on the boulder and then make sure it goes
to the divided 6-platform to the right. Drop the block down right and right.
Drop the egg left. Push the egg left once, then right til it's 1U1R of the
next bear. Drop the block left. You need to move it back right whether you
crush the bear. Drop it down the long chute. Drop the egg 1L of it to the
right edge. Again you can crush the bear below.
Push the egg onto it then right off the edge. Dig over the hole below and
push the boulder in it(L U R) before digging both sides and pushing the
boulder right again. Push the egg down a bit. Dig both sides around the
boulder and push it right again. Push the egg on it. When the bear turns
right, you can roll and drop the egg to the bottom.

2-1 dig the egg. Push it left. Dig 1L and 2R of the boulder, then 2RD of it.
Kill the enemy. Dig 1U1L of the boulder if need be. Then push the boulder
into the corner. Dig the first blue square and fall through the bottom. Dig
2-1 and push the egg right three times then left. Go down(jumo over the egg
then dig left) and dig left of the boulder and jump under it and push it
right. Kick the egg onto it and then jump over so you can push the boulder
left.
Push the egg back right 1. Dig over it and then go 1L and dig right. You
should crush the bear now. Dig right and drop right and push the boulder
left. Jar the left one below loose and push it L R and now come back for the
egg to push L R. 2-1 dig to the left and roll the egg to the dead end. Dig
right.
Push the egg right and over the second egg chute. Dig left of it and push the
egg down. Jump back up and 2-1 dig. Go below the boulders and dig the 2nd-
left squares and knock the left boulder and dig left on it, then push it
right. Push the right boulder left after knicking it. Drop right left right
and push the egg down to the left. When it goes below the squasher, angle to
push it left where once you fall, a 2-1 dig does it.

Dig left. Drop the egg left when the bear goes right, then fall and dig right
over the boulder. Dig left and fall and crush him. Now dig in the center over
the bear and go left and knock over a boulder and push it right to take him
out. Push the egg down a gap and dig over the left egg square. Push the egg
above it, dig 1L of it and drop the egg through. Dig over the crumbly and let
the egg fall. You will have no problem jumping over the gap where it is as
the blocks that would have impeded you are off screen. You will want to dig
left, right and right of the egg as it falls down. Be sure to avoid the bear
as it patrols below. You'll need it to fall on the left edge, then you'll
land on it and drop it through the egg square. Dig a hole in the middle so
the bear falls down there, then whack him with the boulder.
Dig 2L of the penguin square and push the egg down, then (falling left onto
the egg) dig 1U and 1U1R of the right of the 4 gold squares. Push the egg
elow them so it drops on the crumbly, then push it right. Fall to push it
left, then dig below it and push it left. Drop it through the egg hole and
approach it from the left and dig left when the bear is near. Drop on the egg
from the left and keep pushing it right until it's at the edge. Drop through
the penguin square and then push the egg left when the bear goes left, then
drop on it and dig quickly. It doesn't matter if the bear hits you on the
way. The egg will fall through and that is what's important.

Drop the egg left once and push it left. Push a boulder so it is 2R of the
left edge, then drop the egg. Dig 1R of the egg. Drop the egg down the left
side. 2-2-1 dig the egg so it falls on the platform. Dig the bear out of the
way and then knock the egg from the left so it falls right of you. Dig when
the egg is between the golds and push it right. Dig left over the boulder,
then fall and dig left again. Go belos and kick the boulder under the egg and
go down the left to cycle back in the UR. Jump over the boulders and dig the
egg and push it right. Push it through its hole, go through yours and drop it
over the gold box when it vanishes. Follow your eggdown.
Now you will want to dig/fall left and dig the rightmost bit there, then dig
left, then push the boulder below right. This gives you enough space for a 4-
3-2-2-1 dig to the bottom. You'll need to bring the egg with you so there may
be some tricky jumps where you bat the egg around, especially below the first
two-dig where you need to avoid the egg going in the dead end. Tap left from
the ledge above.

Then fall on it and dig left twice to send it through the egg square. 2-1 dig
it in the right bit then left-dig it in the next tunnel(2 bricks, 2 gold) and
dig it right when the square below is halfway to reappearing. Get to its left
and push it 1R and go UL jumping over the bear. Drop the boulder on it. 2-1
dig left of the egg so you can drop it down. Eventually the bear should get

Stand on the egg hole and dig left. Drop right of the egg and dig left, then

Sneak in and get a running start to bop the boulder. The bear will punch you
right, but you'll get him. Push the egg through the eqq square.

Dig right over the egg, drop on it and dig left. Drop on the egg, push the
boulder 1R and 2-1 dog so the egg lands 3U of the egg square--when you dig,
dig when the bear to the left is going back right. That way you can push both
bears into the corner, push a boulder above and push it right ti get access
to the egg, which you can dig through. But don't let it through the egg
square yet. Instead, fall down the left and push the block to the right into
the gap. Push the other block right and dig 1L of it and 1L of the other.
Push them both right of the center and now you can tip the egg left. If you
push them to the right edge you risk the vulture. But if they are at the
center the egg may bounce on you and to the right.
3-2-1 dig to the left and push the egg right. Roll it over a crumbly and

boulder under the egg, so release one and push it under the chute and jump on

Push the egg L R R. Push the boulder left into the bear. Then 2-1 dig to the
left and bring the egg left. You will need to jump on it and push it there.
Jump under the boulder when the sqyare below comes half into view. 1L and dig
R and push left. Dig the right side and push the egg all the way left. Then
push it right two drops and left one drop. Push it into the left corner and
jump on it, then floor right. The egg will flop over two columns.
Push it in the pit to the right, dir 1R of it and drop there. Dig right then
knock the boulder to your left and push it to the left edge. Push the egg to
the right and push the block left when the bear is 2R of the drop. Now drop
the egg through the egg squares.
Dig above the middle hole above the bears. Drop the block in. Dig the 2x2
left of the chute you creqated and also the 4x2 to the right. Drop one block
on one bear and jump up for a block to drop on the other. Before dropping the
second block(middle is best) you may wish to drop the egg to the left. Fall
down the left chute to do so.
Below that dig 2R 1L on the left block, then push it left. 2-1 dig to get the
egg rolling. Now jump up and right and dig left so you don't upset the egg.
You can knock the boulder 1L1D of the egg and push it right. Then jump off
the bottom and dig right to make the egg fall safely. You may even get the
bear to kill itself, but if not, you can push the block left to make sure he
is not a factor.
Now don't dump the egg down the egg square--2-1 right next to it--and you
will win.

boulder left off the edge and kick the one above it. Drop the egg left twice

digging left of the boulder and dropping it right. Try to kill the monster
with the drop, but you can jump and push the boulder to make sure. You'll be
coming back here. Drop the egg right, digging before the 4 golds so it
doesn't drop in the trap. Push it over the egg square and push the boulder
above 1R, dig, push 1L to neutralize the enemy. Push the egg left. Push it
right 1L of the right edge. Push the boulder 1L of it right then dig the egg
out. Use the DR to recycle at the top. Jump and push the boulder 3L of the
egg 2R. Now you can push the egg left and through the egg hole.
Push the egg left right left and drop it over the egg square when the
vanisher below is half visible. Go to the right side and avoid the masker and
then dig left, bump the boulder above, 1R and jump and push it left. Now push

Dig the egg down on the platform(1 away) and then go to the left gold and
smack the egg right. Dig below the egg. Jump up and right onto the egg so it
goes to the left. It's a delicate tricky one but you need to survive so you
can dig it. Then push the egg 2L of the egg square, drop when the enemy is on
the right, and run right. Wait for everything to fall. Then jump under the
boulder with the enemy nearby and push it right into the gap where you should
kill the other. If you can't do this, drop the boulder from the left over.
Push the boulder 2R and drop the other one, with the egg, on it.
Push the egg left, digging a hole left of the boulders so it can fall off the
edge. It should get between the golds and then you will want to dig 3R of it,
so fall and push it 1L and dig 2 squares.
Fall down, push the boulder right, dig right, fall on the boulder, dig left
and push it right. Go down the bottom and let the egg flop all over, moving
it right till it falls in a hole. Dig 1L of it then kick it from below. 3-dig
the center, drop the egg in and push it right. 2-dig to drop it safely again.
Jump on it and dig under it twice to drop it near the bottom. Then push the

left so you can drop the egg again. Crush the bears to the right. Dog 3-2
left of the boulders and dig the corner square. Dig 1U1R and 1R nf the top
boulder. Push it left. Dig right from the right boulder and kick the egg
down. It should avoid the long trip down. Kick it right to over the egg
square. Drop it over the platform when it is 1 away. Drop through the penguin
bit. Dig right and now jump up for the egg to fall left.
Dig the egg so it's over the crumblies and push it left as you drop, so it
goes left before it gets in the gap. This distracts the bear. Then dig under
the egg and push it into the corner so you can push the boulder into the
bear. Push the other boulder 1L and then you can dig 1L of the bottom boulder
and 2R of it, so you can kick it out and drop it on the bear below when it is
1 square away. Drio the egg over the crumbly on the right edge, drop on it
and dig left. Drop on the egg below so it goes left. Dig the egg into the
center of the 1x3 then bop the boulder 2D of it and push it under the
disappearing blocks.
Go down the DR and appear at the top. Dig the egg down. Now push the boulder
below it right and the egg left. Dig the egg, drop on it and dig again to

Dig right under the egg. 2-1 dig left of the gold blocks and then dig 1 down
twice more. Dig the block 1R of the furthest right the egg can go, creating a
drop to the right. That gets it to the right edge. 4-3-2-1 dig to move the
egg down some more. Don't push the egg down to the bear, but knock the
boulder UL of the bear down, dig right and push it right onto the bear when
it's in the left.
Roll the egg onto the two crumblies and then roll it left over 4 more. Push
the block on the right off to the left, digging right to push it more until
it falls on the bear. Roll the egg right and dig under it when it's 2R of the
boulders. Push it 2L and dig above the left edge of where the upper bear
goes, then take the boulder in the hole and push it back right. Push the
boulder over each bear. Dig right of it and push it left into the hole. Drop
the egg right and, once it falls, dig under it.
Roll the egg over the crumbly. Then keep pushing and dropping it left. Drop
it one level when in the 3x2 room and then get out(dig the right 2 squares)
roll the egg down. Push it right into the corner. When the bear goes back
right, dig the 2 right squares and push the egg right. When 2L of the edge,

This level is a bit of a break.
Dig right. Drop the egg in and push it right. Dig over the crumbly. Push the
egg left. Dig each block and push the boulder left. Dig right and drop down
the bottom and then push the egg right after you dig under the masher. Drop
the egg left and, when the vanisher appears, drop again. Make sure the bear
next to you is facing left-if you're having trouble, dig 1R then 1D(when he's
turning left--it takes time to dig) to shake him off.
Dig the egg onto the next vanisher once it's disappeared, then shuttle it
back left through the hole. Again if you can do it with both bears facing
left, great, but even if they're not facing right when they go back they may
run into the vanishers. Drop the egg through the crack and dig right. You can
move in and drop right and dig the bear into the right. Push the egg as far
left as you can, dig it and push it right but don't let it go over the
crumbly. Instead jump right over it and dig left.
Drop it right and dig right when over the boulder. Drop over the egg. Drop
the egg over the egg square. Dig a hole left of it at the bottom, then jump

worry. You have the time. Drop it through the egg square when the bear's
going left. Dig the bear to the left out of the way. Drop the egg onto the
penguin square and push it left. It will drop twice more. Drop on it and push
it right, then dig left and drop it left twice.
Push the block below to the left and now dig squares 3-6 from the right. Push
the egg into a corner. You can chuck one to the left as you do so. Do this
for two rows, digging what you can. Dig the egg over the crumbly over the
penguin. Fall left of it. Fall left of the boulder above the bear and push it
right to mash him.
Now drop the egg through the vanisher and push it 2R. Dig a hole 1R of the
boulder. Let the bear fall in and then dig 2L, 2R, L L to cash in.

This one may get you in a time crunch especially at the end.
2-1 dig to the right and push the boulder left. Drop on the egg so it rolls
right then 4-3-2-1 dig down. Leave the egg behind to 4-3-2-1 dig to the left.
Then dig yourself out. Kick the left of the two adjacent boulders left and
then cut the bear off.
Now roll the egg right and whei it is on the crumbly, walk over it so it
lands on the penguin square. Then get under it and go to the right quickly so
it bounces on you into a hole. Now you need to jump over the boulder on the
bottom and jump over the bear to drop a boulder on it or crush it otherwise.
Then go down the bottom and dig the egg out so it goes over the crumbly. Kick
the egg left when you drop on it and then push it down a bunch. Drop it right
then dig and drop it left under the boulder. Dig the two squares below it.
Dig 1U and 1R if the crumbly by the masher in the right, then drop the egg
there and 2-1 dig so it lands on the left crumbly below.
Now drop to push the egg left into the hole and then kick the left boulder
from below. Jump and knock it right to wipe put the bear and now you can dig
the 3 squares around the block. There's no way to get around the ghost at the
end that changes your directions so just be prepared to do everything left of
the egg and push the boulder right and then put the egg through the egg
square. Then drop it down. If you get a direction wrong by accident there's
no real pressure except maybe time pressure.
Of course you can also cheat and change the emulator directions.

penguin square and flip the egg. Dig right and push the egg across the

On top of the boulder to the right of center, dig both ways. Push it left and

Push the egg to the right side and dig it and push it left. Remember to push
the egg left when the masher lands, and roll it over the first crumbly. Land
on it and jump left so you can push the boulder into the bear. Now dig 1L of
the left boulder on top and dig below that too. When the bear is below you,
push the boulder left into the gap, then roll the egg right, dropping 3x. The
second drop needs to be quick because of the crumbly. Now 1-1 dig below and

Roll the egg left and dig over the lone vanisher when it disappears. Then
roll the egg right onto the boulder and dig the boulder when the enemy is 1R
of it. The boulder will wobble and fall on him. Push the egg right. Dig left
and drop twice then dig left to get under the masher. Dig left at the edge
and then push the boulder left and go on the 2-ledge and dig down the bottom.
Push the egg right, dig and push it left. When it drops, push it right down a
bit more, then drop to its right. Dig each way on the boulder and crush the
bear with it.
3-1 dig the right area you ran over so that you can roll the egg right and,
when it's fallen twice, jump right and dig left. The egg will land on the
boulder. Push the boulder left and fall on it. Dig left and push right and
dig left. Now you can roll the egg right and back left. Jump over the egg to
get to the boulder which you want to push on the enemy when he is 2R of the
chute.
Dig the egg 1L of the crumbly. Kick it into the corner and then dig right,
then get under the boulder and crush the bear. Push it left. Dig over the egg
chute and kick the egg left over the chute. You may have to fall down once or
twice before doing so.
On the ledge below push the boulder left. Dig left and dig left-right so the
egg drops and then push the boulder on the bear, then dig left and push it
into the gap. Push the egg on it.
Now drop through the penguin square and push the boulder right. Dig right on

center, land left of it so it goes right off the boulder. Then drop it right
twice so it lands on the two stacked crumblies. Then push it over the second
crumbly (start when the bear goes left) and dig left when it falls. That gets
you a time bonus, and then you can push the egg left and if you want, hit the
boulder to prevent one bear from following you. Even if a bear hits the egg,

egg. Dig it left when the platform is 1R of the edge, going right. Then kick
the egg from below when it is on the platform and drop it left so it falls in

the bear goes in the hole. Dig 2R 1R of the boulder so the egg can fall down.

boulder to fall through when the bear is beneath you.
Drop the egg on the boulder then dig left and push the boulder right. Dig
either side of the centralized boulder. Then push the egg all the way right.
Dig right to drop the egg down some more. 2-1 dig in the UR with the
suspended boulders so you can 2-1 dig the egg--the last when the bear is in
the center facing left. You can use the boulders(loosened) to get back over
the egg to the left. The egg will drop down two crumblies.

Dig holes 2 in from the left and right edges. Trap the bears that way. Then
2-1 dig next to the golds and drop the boulders when bears are beneath,
heading to the edges. Drop the egg in and push the right boulder right. Dig
1U1L and 1L of it and push it right and then dig 1U1L and 1L of it.
Now you can kick the egg down and dig to the left--5, 6, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and
push the egg to the left edge. Dig the 2 squares below the left boulder and
drop in. Dig left of it and push right. Then dig twice and drop and continue,
until you get to the rock. Roll the egg right then left to the rock, which
you can push left. Dig 3 right and now push the boulder at the very top
right. 2-2-2-1 dig left down the center to free up another space for the egg,
then 3(left)-2-3-2-1 dig to drop it near the golds.
Make the egg roll left as you fall, then 2-1 dig it on a gold square. Drop it
down to the left edge and now you will want to drop the 4 rocks you can see
into the 2-high pit(2) and left of it. Now you can roll the egg right and
back left and a few simple digs clinch it.

Drop the egg down the left edge then 2-1 dig it. Dig it down the right and
then hit the boulder from under when it has a place to land. Drop the egg on
the platform and dig left of the boulder and drop it. Then push the egg left
off the platform onto the boulders. Jump from the left of the boulders and
land on the right of the platform for best results.
Kick the egg right and dig right and run past the bear, using the specific
chutes. Go right and jump over the egg and dig right. Push the boulder left
and then bring the egg down and dig. 2-1 dig down the right and now knock the
boulder from under and push it left into the bear. Push the egg left twice.
Dig all around the lower boulder and push it left to crush the bear. Now you
can dig all the top stuff and 4 blocks to the left so the egg can roll into
the hole above the gold. With the egg on the edge push the block 2R of it and
dig 1R of the block. Push it into the hole and dig 2L and 2R of it. Let it
fall right. It is now 2L of the other block. Dig the squares L 2L and LD of
it. Drop it in the hole. Drop the egg right into the hole. Stand on the
boulder and dig each way. Push it left then the egg left. Roll the egg right.
Dig L 2L of the boulder. Drop it right. Dig UL, L, R of it and drop it left.
2-1 dig and place it under the egg. Drop the egg through the chute. Jump over
the egg(don't let it roll off left...may be best to tap it 1L then jump on it
to send it 1R) and drop left of the bear. When it is 3R of the edge, hit the
boulder. Jump to avoid it if need be, then push the boulder right to kill the
other bear.
Drop the other two boulders and dig the 3 holes below. Recycle on the top and
kick the egg right off the boulder. Dig left on the boulder(oh no, reverse
movement) and let it fall left. Drop the egg on it. But be sure to pause on
the final crumbly before continuing, or the egg will fall left because you
had momentum.
Push the boulder right, then walk the egg right. 2-1 dig to win.

Drop the egg right of the boulder. Dig everything above and push the boulder
left. 7-dig and then roll the egg left and right over the crumblies. For the
final one you need to land on it. Dig 2L/2R on the block and 2L D of it. Push
the block left. Dig 4R of it and push it right off the edge. Keep digging
everything you can--when the block is in the right you should be able to 7-
dig. Then 6-5-4 so that the 3-2 cavern now is a 7-2. Then 5-4-3 dig on the
right side then 2-1 on the left so you can push the egg off to the left down
the chute.
Kick the egg to the left and dig 2L of it and dig the boulder to the left.
Kick it and dig 1R of it and jump-push it right. Now push the egg 1R 1L and
dig it left onto the top boulder. Dig L R on the bottom boulder and push it
1L. Drop the egg on it and then right. Drop the boulder left. Dig 2L 3L of
the egg and push the left boulder off, then kick the UL boulder fro mbelow
and push it right. Push the egg L and dig it left, then push it 3L.
Stand on the boulder, dig L R and drop it right. Dig L R on the boulder and
push it right. Drop the egg right twice(tricky jump to start--go down the
bottom if you're unsure) then dig under it so it drops again. Drop the block

Push the egg left and dig over it so you can jump on it and it will fall on
the platform(when it's 1 1/2 L) and get on the boulder and kick the egg left.
Dig left and then dig 1R of the boulder after digging left and push it right
so it falls. Drop the egg on it. Be sure to push th egg left. Don't worry if
you get stunned. Then dig 2L L of the egg, then L D of it. Push it L R L. 2-
dig, push the egg to the side and 2-1 dig, then 2-dig below that. Push the
egg on the crumbly.
Push the egg right and 2-dig. Now loosen the right boulder, dig left and
loosen the left boulder. If you do it with the bear on the left he'll get
wiped out.
Kick the egg to the left edge then dig U2R, 2R, R of the boulder and drop it
right, then dig the 4 squares left. Push the boulder right and dig L 2L of
it. Drop the egg down. Put the boulder over the egg chute. Dig 2RD, 3RD. 2-1
dig leeft and now you can drop the boulder on the bear!
Push the boulder 2R and 2-1 dig to the left so that you can push the egg down
two levels. You can fall under it so it drops on your head. Then let if fall
right. Drop it right of the vanishing gold and now dig left and jump left
over the boulder left of the bear. Squeeze the boulder into the bear then
bring the egg down.

This one really is a bit of a break. Push the egg 1L and then fall left on
it, then right, etc., repeat til near the bottom when you need to jump over
it. At the bottom, dig right, drop and dig right so you can push the boulder
left. Dig each side of it and push it left and dig below left. Fall from
above and push the egg right then left. For the big long fall, release
left/right once you're in space. Tap right/left once you touch the egg.
(You can also run down the left and just push the egg over the chute and do
some easy digging.)

Dig right under the egg, then drop on it and dig left so it falls again. Drop
on it so it falls right then kick the boulder and dig either side of it. Push
the boulder 2L and dig the egg above the center boulder. Under-kick it and
jump kick it right. Don't tap too hard or the egg will fly right. Jump and
kick the egg left and dig left. Drop the egg left after digging the egg left.
When the platform reaches over the line, jump on the egg to bounce it right.
Now loosen the center boulder and drop it right onto the bear. Push the egg
right. Dig 4 squares, 1U from the egg chute to 3L. 2-1 dig to make a way down
the center. Make a hole to the left and drop the block when the bear is 1R of
the left. Push the block under the egg chute and 2-1 dig to the left. Drop
down the bottom and drop the egg through.
Push the egg onto the egg chute and fall left hard. Jump right. Turn left and
drop the egg through. Go through the right penguin chute. Jump up, go right,
flip and drop the egg left twice. Drop it right and left. Once it breaks the
first crumbly, drop on it to flip it left. Knock the boulder above and when
the bear falls, run over the bear to the left with the boulder. They will
both die.

Dig the left edge and drop the boulder on the bear when it is 1R of the left.
Push the boulder into the gold and then roll the egg left, drop it, and
right. Dig it over the top crumbly and push it left and right. Dig between
the golds to drop the egg, then dig over the vanished gold. Now dig on the
left side and when the bear is 3R of the edge, jump under the left edge
boulder to kil it. 20dig to drop the egg the dig to get next to the egg and
dig under it to the long platform.
Drop the egg into the pit and 3-2-2 dig and jump on the egg to push it left.
When the vanisher above appears, drop the boulder down. Now roll the egg left
and back right and drop it right and dig right so the egg falls on the chute.
2-1 dig and drop the egg down again. Now I just let the bear run at me as I
dropped the boulder right of the masher.

Dig right when the platform is 1 1/2 left of the egg. Go left and drop the
boulder to the left so the bear can't come back. Drop the egg right off the
platform. Dig the boulder between the golds and drop the egg down. The bear
falls in a pit to the left. Roll the egg right and dig it when it is 1L of
the right. Drop the egg in the left and dig the 2 left. Now you can jump on
the egg safely.
Drop the egg in its chute. Dig the 2 leftmost and jump on the egg. Run past
the bear with the egg and bash the boulder into it. Then dig the right edge
and roll the egg left. Go right and hit the boulder from under. You may have
to push two boulders right and then drop the egg there and dig left on the
left boulder and right of it to push the boulder off. Now roll the egg left
twice.
You may have to push the egg right and let the bear hit you when you drop
over the egg chute. Then drop on the chute and dig right so that the enemy
falls in and you can roll the egg left and dig it.
2-1 dig onto the right side, rolling the egg, with the last dig as the
vanisher disappears. Drop the egg 1L and jump over it. Then jump over the
bear and hit the boulder from under. Then jump left and drop the boulder
right. Drop the other boulder down and dig 2L L and push the boulder left
into the hole. Dig in each side and push the boulder left, then roll the egg

Dig R from 1L of the egg then drop the egg left twice. Roll the egg left and
drop to its right. If you get stunned, no big deal. Drop the egg off the edge
and push the boulder U3R of it. Dig 1R of the egg and push the boulder right.
Slam the boulder into the bear. Dig left over the gold over the egg chute and
push the boulder below to the side and then go back left. Kick a boulder from
below and push it right off the edge. Now you can push the egg right.
But instead of pushing it down the chute, push it left and when the vanisher
half reappears, dig and the egg will drop safely. Push the egg 1R. Drop it
right on the chute then run all the way left.
Dig 1R of the egg chute and drop three of the boulders left after jiggling
them. Then drop the boulders below and into the chute to the right. If the
buzzard appears, jump quickly to the top. you need to kick the 2 boulders
below and the 4 on top to be able to drop the egg safely. Then you can roll
the egg all the way right. Even if it falls in the gap and you can't drop it
down the chute, you can get it in the gap. At the right edge, push the egg
there and dig 1L. Then bop the boulder and push it right. When it falls, dig
L R and move it L and then hit the egg from below and try to lean left so it
goes right. Then it is easy. If not, push the boulder left and then push the
egg right and dig.

Dig the egg to over the chute and then go through the penguin chute and drop
the boulder right. Now go down and 2-1 dig over the concealed penguin chute.
Then dig L of the boulders. Go down. Push the egg left then right. Then hit
the boulder from below. Keep bringing the boulder left and digging left on it
until you can dig left to drop the egg.
Push the egg by the masher. Drop the egg 2L of the chute and dig left, then
drop left and kick the egg left. Drop the boulder with the bear 1L of the
chute. Jump up the chute and you can knock the egg down. The bear will get
you, but oh well. Jump up and knock the egg right when you are invincible.
Now knock the boulders down the chute 2L of the penguin chutes. Now you can
drop the egg safely.
Push the egg 2L, dig under it, fall leftish and dig right over the egg.
Drop one of the boulders down the hatch to the right. Send the egg all the
way right then back left and it will flip across the gap. Then push it right
onto the boulder. Push the boulder at the bottom 1L and then when the
vanisher disappears, 1L. Then push the boulder left when an enemy is at the
edge. R L L to flip down and win.
Level 49 map:

Push the egg left and dig it over the boulder. Drop right and then push the
bottom boulder left. Drop the egg left into the corner. Dig 2 squares. Dig
between the boulders and stack them down the chute. Dig left and push one
boulder right. Push the other one left. Dig left on it and push it right.
3-1 dig so the egg lands on the left and you can approach it from the right.
Dig it down. Push it right and dig under it at the edge. Drop on it but edge
left, then jump over it and push it back right onto the golds. Dig a brick
and bash the boulder from below and move it 2R. Now drop the egg on it and
push the egg 4L. 2R after the crumblies and drop it down. Dig left and jump
on the boulder and dig left. Push the boulder right and land on the egg after
a jump and push it left.
Dig when the vanisher half disappears. Push the egg 2R, then dig and drop it.
Repeat then flip it. Push it left and dig. Dig right to cut the bear off. Dig
all the squares around the boulder, then jump right so the bear is trapped in
a 2- or 3-island to the right. Drop the boulder in the hole, push it left,
dig right on it, push it left, and dig right on it Drop the egg right and dig
under it. The bear below will run into the masher so just drop the egg left
and right and let it drop 1L of the masher. Dig 2L of it and drop and dig.

Dig the egg right. Then dig the boulder when the enemy goes right under it.
Dig 2 down under the egg, pushing the egg left after the first. Push the
boulder 2L, dig right and dig left over the boulder to push it right. Drop
the egg over the boulder and push it left. Dig. Push the egg off the edge
then dig 2R of the egg chute. Dig R on the boulder to push it down and let
the egg follow.
Stand on the boulder and dig left so that the egg falls. Then drop the egg on
the chute, but you can't drop it safely yet. Dig right on the boulder and
push it left and right. Dig the 3 squares 2L L R of the boulder and dig 2L D
and push the boulder left and drop it twice. Now you can push the egg
through. Roll the egg left then right around the egg chute.
Dig 3L and R of the boulder and drop it left. Dig right and then drop. 1L,
dig R, R, dig R and push the boulder right. Push and drop the egg left twice-
-except place the egg on the cylinder and dig each side of the boulder. Kick
the egg from under so it falls to the left. Dig 2R of the boulder and then
drop it down when the bear is at the right.
Now you have a jailbreak down the left. Dig the boulder. Push the egg left.
Jump on it and dig it right. Jump on it(wait for it to land or you may crack
it) and hang right so you can go left and dig. Drop left and dig, drop left
and dig, drop and 2-1 dig.

0.5.0: sent to GameFAQs 10/12/2003 with one level walkthrough complete and
the other 49 mapped out. They'll come around eventually, but I felt like
grabbing KB just now.
0.6.0: sent to GameFAQs 3/12/2007 and oh how I suffered for my KB grab down
the road. This game is sticky. I got 10 levels done.
0.6.5: sent to GameFAQs 3/24/2007 through 15 levels now. Tough, tough, tough.

of it just as it got near the end.
