Golden Axe Warrior I was surprised to find this game not a regular from the Golden Axe combat series, but instead a rip-off of the nintendo game Zelda. Then again, Zelda is a great game so you could do a lot worse than copying it, no? Here's a quick help file and walkthrough. Locations are given in x,y coordinates; for brevity's sake, letters have been used instead of numbers, so EL would be 5x, 12y with AA being the upper left corner of the map. Usually the item is found in a cavern or house in said map screen, and some of the caves are hidden so that you have to kill all monsters on the screen and/or remove some trees and boulders. There are ten dungeons in the game, one for each crystal and the final one containing Death Adder. It is advisable to bring a golden apple to restore your health if need be. Killing the level bosses is easy, just dodge the stuff they throw at you and keep zapping them with lightning magic. This will eventually get them down without seriously harming you, although you may have to leave the dungeon (or chase down some wizzrobes) to restore your mana. Some of the later dungeons have multiple bosses. The boss that needs a different approach is the one in level seven. You'll have to whack the flames at random with your sword; you'll notice when you scored a hit. The final exception to this rule is Death Adder in the final dungeon, who of course can only be harmed by the Golden Axe. The magic teachers are actually characters from the original Golden Axe arcade game; most level bosses and some monsters are from there, too. Magic Teacher Person from the real game Lightning Gillian Gilius Thunderhead the Dwarf Earth/explosion Battler Ax-Battler the Barbarian Swordsman Fire Princess Tyris Tyris-Flare the Amazon (Water) (Linda) Item list Sword Kills stuff; upgradable to long sword and flame sword Battle Axe Kills stuff and chops down trees Golden Axe Looks cool and can kill Death Adder Magic Oil Repairs your armor when a spider rusts it (level 6 and up) Torch Lights up dark rooms Lightning Magic Kills stuff from a distance, especially level bosses Earth Magic Destroys rocks and tombstones, and paralyzes enemies Fire Magic Damages all enemies on screen by a small amount Water Magic Restores three points of health for three points of magic Golden Apple Restores your health to its maximum Magic Feather Teleport back to the last place you saved your game Ice Bell Freezes lava and reveals breakable rocks Magic Balloon Shows the entire world map Magic Rope Makes you climb certain mountains, look for straight edges Canoe Traverse shallow water Speed Shoes Increases your walking speed Thief's Key Gives you infinite keys Ship Traverse deep water, but only from a dock Leather Armor Doesn't do much but it looks cool Chain Mail Reduces damage taken Dragon Mail Reduces damage taken some more Small Shield Allows you to block spears and some other small projectiles Knight's Shield Allows you to block axes and fireballs with your shield Dragon Shield Allows you to block any missile with your shield Minor items: Loaf of Bread One life point Hunk of Meat Three life points Rest at an Inn Refills all life Pot One magic point Hourglass Freezes all enemies for a short while Key Allows you to open one door This could be considered a quest list of the game. It shows where you can find the items, and when you can first obtain them. Also, don't play the gambling game as the odds are against you. You can't carry more than 255 horns, so there's no point in getting them from a room if you have that much. The following is a list of all items that can be bought at shoppes, and what they cost. Note that you need other items, such as the axe, to get into some of the shoppes.
