A note on this guide 3. Game List 4. Rumored games / unreleased games 5. PAL (European/Australian) Releases 6. Version History 7. Copyright information ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Why I Made This Guide ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to make a list of games for the Sega CD for many reasons. Being an avid collector of this now decade + old system, I have found the internet to be not fully reliable when it comes to a complete list of all the games. Also, being that there are new games released periodically by a third party who bought rights to abandoned games (Good Deal Games), I found that not a single list is ever fully updated. With this guide I intend to list every US game and eventually every European and Japanese Mega CD game released, all variations in the packaging, release dates, publishers and developers as well as all peripherals and system variants. It will be a difficult task to complete so please bear with me, as I will update as often as I can. I hope that through this guide I can help fellow Sega CD collectors complete their collections. The information contained in this guide is a combination of information from several sources. The first source and primary source is my personal collection. Seeing as how I own it, I know it exists. I have also spent several months collecting information from many places around the web such as digitpress, ebay, and countless Sega CD fan sites. A third source is the Gamefaqs website and message board. A lot of the data for Sega CD games listed on the site I have contributed and I have gathered a lot more from the Sega CD message board. Props to you few people on that message board. Another huge source of mine is gamming magazines from the time period. Those magazines alone have cost me close to $100, so think of it as me spending $100 on you people. It'd be nice to get some return eventually, but for now, the following is the list of games known to exist for the Sega CD. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. A Note on This Guide ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I first started this guide, I didn't take much into consideration when it came to sources for the information I gathered. I didn't expect this to be such a massive undertaking. I expected to pump out the guide and add some release dates and packaging information as I got it. However, that wasn't as simple as I had expected. Over the past few updates I have taken some time to cite the rumored games but nothing else. From here on out (version 1.80) I plan to cite not only the unreleased games but release dates for games because these seem to be very flaky, especially with the internet as one of my main sources and old gaming magazines as my other source. I have plans to contact Sega themselves to see if I can get some actual release dates. Until then, I am going off of copyright information on the game boxes and from gaming magazines. Information contained in this guide without a source is old information from previous versions. It will be very difficult to go back through the 50+ magazines and hundreds of websites to figure out where all that information came from so I shall leave it un-sourced for the time being. I am doing my best to keep this guide updated and accurate, but you need to know that I am a college student, and even though I don't act like it, school comes first and my guides second. I ask that you please e-mail me at Arguro AT hotmail.com if you have any questions regarding the sources in this guide, any errors you notice, any thing you have to contribute or any feed back (I would love some feedback because I have received none in the 7 months this guide has been posted). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. On page 33 of the December 1994/ January 1995 issue of Sega Visions Magazine, there is a picture of the box art with several hockey players on the ice fighting for the puck. On page 35 of that very same magazine, there is a picture of the same game with the same logo but with just a puck on the ice and no players at all. This is an over head shot. This one is rated KA by the ESRB while the other one has no rating. The third has several team logos, the most noticeable is that of the New York Rangers as seen on page 29 of the November 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine. ESPN NBA Hangtime '95 Released 1994 Produced by Sony Imagesoft Packaged in standard Sega CD jewel case Two possible versions exist. On page 79 of the February/March 1995 issue of Sega Visions Magazine, there is a picture of the box art with several basketball players at tipoff. On page 35 of December 1994/ January 1995 issue of Sega Visions Magazine, there is a picture of the same game with the same logo but with just a basketball and no players at all. They both have an ESRB rating of KA. ESPN Sunday Night NFL Released 1993 Produced by Sony Imagesoft Packaged in standard Sega CD jewel case 2 different versions exist. The differences are very small. There is one that is rated by the V.R.C. with a rating of GA and the NFL Team logo on the left of the rating. The other has an ESRB rating of KA with the NFL Team logo directly above the rating. The one rated by the V.R.C. came first. There is a "Not for resale" version that was the pack- in but there was also another version released in the standard Sega CD jewel case. The visual differences between the two games exist only on the CD. The "Not for Resale Version" has blue text on a very pronounced red Kansas City Chief's helmet, has a V.R.C. rating of G.A., has the stamp of the NFL's Player's Association, the NFL team logo as well as some copy right info on the left side. The other version contains none of this and has silver text on a green background. The green version was released first. Jurassic Park Released 1993 Developed by Sega Published by Sega Packaged in standard Sega CD jewel case JVC Hot Hits Volume 1 Released 1993 Published by JVC I am unsure where exactly to put this game/karaoke disc. I decided to put it in the actual game list because, on page 54 of the February/March 1993 issue of Sega Visions Magazine there is a full page article about this. Usually that isn't enough to convince me the game exists. However, on the page there is an order form for the game. This could be the same as "Hot Hits" but I doubt it for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that it is made by JVC. Also, "Hot Hits" was a pack in that was packaged together with Rock Paintings and this has no mention of Rock Paintings. Also, "Hot Hits" was a pack in, so why would they sell the same game for $29.95? Anyway, this is supposed to be a karaoke disc and is supposed to include songs from sixteen different artists including Madonna, R.E.M., Michael Jackson, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the B-52's. It says you can also order it by phone by calling 1-800-USA-Sega. The article says that there will be several more of these types of discs to be released in the future. There are three screen shots contained within the article but I do not recognize anything in those three. There is also a picture of a JVC karaoke machine. I have a feeling this could be what the JVC X-EYE spawned from. I do not know if anything ever came of them, or even this one. Again, this all came from Sega Visions Magazine February/March 1993 issue, page 54. Please e-mail me if you have any information about this. At least two variations exist, one with the V.R.C rating of MA-17 and one without any rating. This game was re-released after being banned for a short time. The re- release is in a flip open cardboard box. A 32X version also exists and was packaged in the same flip open box but is orange instead of blue. The 32X version was released at the exact same time as the Sega CD re-release. **Thanks to Doug (MazinZ@aol.com) for this information** One thing to note is that there is a small difference between the original release (in the red cardboard box) and the re-release (in the blue flip open box). In the original version, there is an Auger that crosses the screen before the title shows up from the left. In the re-release, the title comes from the top of the screen and no Auger is shown. Please note that I have not confirmed this my self and I am going on the word of Doug. I will attempt to confirm this my self soon. 2 discs Nova Storm Released 1994 Published by Psygnosis Packaged in standard Sega CD jewel case Panic! Rumored games / unreleased games ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following games were listed in a multitude of different gaming magazines as games set to be released at one point or another but for some reason never made it. There are several reasons for this: They were possibly delayed and never made it out, possibly had a name change and actually do exist under another name, or there was a typo and the magazine was wrong. You will notice that a lot of the games come from advertisements in the back of magazines and that is their only source. I included these games because, on several occasions, the magazines say that those advertisements include games that have been announced and not yet released. A lot of the games disappear after only two or three issues, but it is worth noting because they were rumored. I have tried to be as precise as I could in citing where I found the information concerning the game. Some games are without a source and they have been listed for a long time, well before I thought to cite anything. I will eventually figure out where I got those games from, but until then, they are un-cited. Anyway, I have listed these incase there are beta discs floating around out there. 36 Great Holes Starring Fred Couples I first read about the possibility of a CD version of the 32X game existing at Digitpress. Since I don't trust everything they say I didn't initially list it. However, in the August 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on pages 38, there is a small paragraph about it. As far as I can gather, this version doesn't use the 32X like Digitpress says. It appears to just be for the Sega CD. Supposed to be available in fall of 1994. AH3 Firehawk Listed in the September 1993 issue of GamePro Magazine. I believe it had a name change and is actually AH3 Thunderstrike. Said to be made by JVC and released in October 1993. I think it is clear that it is in fact Thunderstrike. After comparing screen shots from the October 1993 issue of the same magazine's review of AH3 Thunderstrike, I have concluded that they are the same game. The screens have very similar set up, although Firehawk does look brighter and better over all. One thing to note, the October issue said it was released in September and the September issue says it was released in October. Akira In the June 1994 issue of Game Players Magazine, on page 18 there is a list of upcoming titles. Akira is listed here. It says it is supposed to be based off of the animated film as well as the Japanese comic. Supposed to be made by THQ. Aladdin In "Compute's Sega CD Sourcebook" written by Jason R. Rich and published by Compute Publishing Limited, there are several mentions of the game based off of the Disney movie Aladdin. The writer actually visited the studio where Aladdin was being worked on. Serious discussion starts on page 23 which basically says that the Sega CD version is to be a port of the cartridge version with enhanced graphics and sound. Several animators from the movie were to be working on the game. Inside the book there are a couple of pictures of these animators and in the background, you can see drawing of Aladdin on the wall. They talk about the exact amount of pixiles that Aladdin moves when walking and climbing so it is quite likely that this game has a prototype out there somewhere. Later, on page 216 of the same book, there is talk about upcoming games and this is listed first. The release date is scheduled for fall of 1993 and is made by Virgin Games. Digitized speech and additional levels are supposed to be the main features of the game. Alien Trilogy In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game section for $49. This game does exist on the Playstation and Saturn. Alone in the Dark 32X CD This game is listed in an advertisement on page 193 of the December 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine under the 32X section. Supposed to retail for $52. Game does exist on the 3D0. In the December 1995 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, on page 256, there is an advertisement for games. This is listed under the 32X section. Annet Again In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future" Annete Again is listed here and is said to be made by Renovation. According to Gamefaqs, there is a Japanese game called Annet Futatabi which could be this game. That game is made by Wolf Team. Backroad Racers The April 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine says this game would be available in June of 1994 (pg 114). Supposed to be about building your own cars and racing them. Has a price of $69.95 and was developed by Revell-Monogram. There is a PC title with the same name. I am unsure if it is supposed to be the same game. There are two screen shots of the game in the issue I cited just a second ago. In an ad on page 163 of the September 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine says the game is available for purchase for $43. Batman Forever In the June 1994 issue of Game Players Magazine, on page 18 there is a section about upcoming releases. Batman Forever is listed here and is said to be made by Acclaim. Listed in the December 1994 issue of Game Players Magazine on page 12 as coming out in January of 1995. Braindead 13 This game is listed in an advertisement on page 193 of the December 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine under the Genesis section and was being sold for $49. Also listed in another advertisement on page 201 for $49 as well. Bubba 'N' Stix In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Sega CD section for $41. In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game section for $44. Chakan: The Forever Man In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game section for $49. Game does exist on the Genesis. Thanks to DarkBubble (Dark.bubble@gmail.com) for giving me the proper title for this game. Cool Spot On page 179 of the April 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, there is an order form for games. This is listed under the Sega CD section. In Sega Force Magazine (With Joe Montana on the cover), there are two screen shots for this game as well as a small paragraph about it. In that paragraph it says "Cool Spot looks and plays just like the Genesis version." Made by Virgin Entertainment. This game is also listed in an advertisement on page 173 of the January 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine for $48.00. The game is also mentioned in "Compute's Sega CD Source Book" as an upcoming game on page 225. Fall of 1993 is the speculated release date and is a port of the cartridge game. Cool World This is one of the games that was in development before the Sega CD was commercially released. There is one sentence on it in the October 1992 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, page 54. It says "Based on the movie, the game will have moving video." There is one screen shot on the right of the page that features an animated woman up against a purple background. Dark Seed In the December 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 233, there is a advertisement for this game. It offers two screen shots and the box art. The game is supposed to be made by Vic Tokai and has an ESRP rating of M. Developed by Cyber Dreams and "based upon the fantastic artwork of H.R. Giger." The game does appear on several other systems such as the Saturn and Playstation. In the January 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 200, there is a small article on the game with 5 screen shots. The article says the game will be a point and click adventure. You have to solve a puzzle or else your head will explode and give birth to a baby. Supposed to be available in December of 1994. Devastator In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future." Devastator is listed here and is said to be made by Renovation Dino Blaze In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game section for $56. In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure $section as a CD game section for $49. European Racers On page 179 of the April 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, there is an order form for games. This is listed under the Sega CD section but absolutely no other information can be found. In Sega Force Magazine (With Joe Montana on the Cover), on the second page of the Sega CD section, this game is listed. It is called Power Modeler: European Racers and is made by Revell/Monogram. There are two screenshots, one with very realistic looking 3D graphics. On the very next page, there is an advertisement for the same game. It shows the box art of the PC version but says it is available for the Sega CD. There are three screen shots on this advertisement, one is the same as the previous page but with a red car instead of a silver car. On page 34 of the 1993 issue of Mega Play Magazine, there is a small article as well as two screen shots for a game called Power Modeler (which, as I previously stated is the first part of the title to this game according to Sega Force). The screens are much darker than those in Sega Force but feature the same type of graphics. On page 28 of the April 1994 issue of game Player's Magazine, at the top left there is a very small article about this game as well as one screen shot. Supposed to come out "next fall." In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Sega CD section for $39. Fantasy Star Soldier Said to be released in the spring of 1993 and was made by Sega Flying Nightmares In the August 1994 issue of Gamepro, on page 148, there is a small section about a game called Flying Nightmares. From the one screen shot, it appears to be a first person airplane shooter. The company Domark was supposed to be publishing it and it was supposed to be available in August of 1994. On page 150 of the same magazine, it is listed again as shipping in August. In the September 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, there is a full page ad for the game on page 69. Two different screen shots as well as box art are offered. The game does exist on the 3DO. Golf 32X CD In the December 1995 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, on page 256, there is an advertisement for games. This is listed under the 32X section. I assume they are the same game. In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Sega CD section for $44. Harrier Assault On page 123 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an advertisement for games. This is listed under the Genesis Shooters section as a CD game for $49. In the August 1993 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 46, there is a company by company "round up" of the summer 1993 CES. Under DoMark, this is listed as being part of a "growing number of aircraft games for the Sega CD." High Tech Air Craft On page 179 of the April 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, there is an order form for games. This is listed under the Sega CD. In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future." High Tech Air Craft is listed here and is said to be made by Revell-Power. Home Improvement In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Sega CD section for
$39. I assume that it was supposed to be based on the TV show. The game
does exist on the SNES.

Incredible Hulk
In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an
advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Sega CD section for
$59. Does exist on the Genesis

Indiana Jones
In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD
section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future."
Indiana Jones is listed here and is said to be made by JVC. On page 35 of
the April 1993 issue of Mega Play, there is a small section about this game.
There are two screen shots and two small paragraphs of text. This one says
it is made by Sega. In the April/May 1993 issue of Sega Visions, on page
103, there is a small section about games coming out in June of 1993.
Indiana Jones is listed there and is said to be made by Sega. In the
June/July 1993 issue of Sega Visions, on page 95, there is a small section
about games coming out in July of 1993. Indiana Jones is listed there and is
said to be made by Sega. This game is listed in an advertisement in the
January 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine on page 173 for $41.00. In the
June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an
advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure
section as a CD game section for $39.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
On page 58 of the December 1993/January 1994 issue of Sega Visions Magazine
there is a full page review of this game. Eight screen shots are shown as
well as several tops on what to do. This game is very different from the
screens of Instruments of Chaos Starring Young Indiana Jones. It is,
however, also set in World War II and you are trying to stop Nazis, this time
from discovering Atlantis. This game looks to be a Full Motion Video game,
along the lines of Sherlock Holmes or Mansion of Hidden Souls. Being that
there is a full page review, I am fairly certain this game was near
completion at the publication of the magazine. There are 4 versions of this
game on other systems. It appears on the Amiga, Commodore 64, Mac, and PC.
Supposedly made by JVC and rated GA by the V.R.C. In the June 1994 issue of
Game Player's Magazine, on page 121 there is an advertisement for games.
This game is listed under the Sega CD section for $42. In the June 1994
issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for
games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game
section for $44.

Indy 4
On page 100 of the February/March 1993 issue of Sega Visions, it says
that Indy 4 would be released in March of 1993. Supposed to be made by JVC.

Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones
On page 49 of Sega Visions Magazine, December 1993/January 1994 issue,
there is a very small article about this game. Two screen shots are offered.
The basic gist of the article is that you are in World War II fighting the
Nazis. Supposed to be made by Sega. I don't know if this is the same as
what I have called Indiana Jones in this section or not. I am assuming it is
a different game. There is a game called Young Indiana Jones on the Genesis
and the screen shots looks pretty much the same. It is probably a port of
that game.

Jet Ski Rage
In an E3 review in the August 1995 issue of Gamepro, page 38, this game is
said to have been announced. Supposed to be made by Velocity.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

form for games in which this is listed. In the August 1993 issue of Game

the summer 1993 CES. Under Sony Imagesoft, this game is listed.

Kingdom: Far Reaches
In the January 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 212, there is a small
column about CapDisc/Capitol Multimedia being a new developer for the 32X. This
is one of the games they were supposedly working on. It was to be an "RPG set
in ancient times that features 33 minutes of animated adventure, 45 minutes of
dialogue, and 40 minutes of sound and music." I believe this to be a 32X CD
game because of the amount of sound and animation in the game.

Kings Quest 5
On page 100 of the February/March 1993 issue of Sega Visions, it says that
Kings Quest 5 would be released in March of 1993. Supposed to be made by
Sierra and is supposed to be an adventure game.

Last Action Hero
On page 179 of the April 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, there is an order
form for games. This is listed under the Sega CD section. In Sega Force
Magazine (with Joe Montana on the front) there is a small section about this
game on the 4th page of the Sega CD section. There are two screen shots and
a few sentences about the game. Made by Sony Imagesoft. The box art for
this game is shown in the back of Bram Stoker's Dracula's manual in both the
original release and the double pack release. On page 34 of the October 1994
issue of Mega Play Magazine, there is a small article about the game that
offers four screen shots. This game is listed in an advertisement in the
January 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine on page 173 for $49.00.

Lode Runner
On page 123 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an

advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure
section as a CD game section for $49.

Midnight Raiders
In the August 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 31, there is a
picture shown of Midnight Raider's 32X CD game. It is obviously an upgrade
of the Sega CD game. Supposed to be "in the works for '95!" On page 7 of
the February/March 1995 issue of Sega Visions, there is a very small picture
of the box art for this game. It is covered up partially by that of
Fahrenheit 32X CD but the name of the game and the side part can be seen.

Myst
In the January 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 196, there is a full
page feature on the game. There is a small article stating that Sunsoft is
trying its best to keep it faithful to the PC game. The page mostly consists
of screen shots (15 total) and says it would be available in December 1994.
This game is listed in an advertisement on page 193 of the December 1995
issue of Gamepro Magazine under the Genesis section as a CD game. Supposed
to be available for $46. On page 10 of the December 1994 issue of Game
Players Magazine, there is a list of upcoming games. Myst is listed under
January 1995 and is supposed to be made by Sunsoft.

Night Striker
In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD
section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future."
Night Striker is listed here and is said to be made by Taito. In the August
1993 issue of Mega Play Magazine, on page 44 there is a full page preview of
this game with 13 screen shots. It says that the game is "available now"
(Now being August of 1993). It also says that the game is 100% complete. As
far as I can tell, this game did not actually come out in the United States.
It did have a release in Japan. I think this could possibly be a mistake as
the magazine does review Mega CD games as well. However, looking at the
screen shots, all words are in English. This doesn't make it not a Japanese
game but it does seem odd that "Shield Extended" would be in English and not
Japanese if these are screen shots of the Japanese version. There is also an
arcade game that this is supposed to be based on. In the June 1994 issue of
Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an advertisement for games.
This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure section as a CD game section
for $49. If anyone has any information they can offer, please, let me know.

Ninja Warriors, The
In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD
section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future." The
Ninja Warriors is listed here and is said to be made by Taito. On page 123
of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an advertisement
for games. This is listed under the Genesis Kick and punch section for $49.

No Escape
On page 35 of the December 1994 / January 1995 issue of Sega Visions
Magazine, there is an add for Sony Imagesoft games and one of the games
featured is one called No Escape. It appears to be based of off a movie.
Rated T by the ESRB. In the back of the manual for 3 Ninja's Kick back (from
the double pack) there is mention of this game as well as box art and a
screen shot. It appears to be a Street Fighter styled game.

Penn and Teller's Smoke and Mirrors
This game is featured on the cover of Sega Visions Magazine's
February/March 1995 issue and there are several screen shots of the game as
well as an interview with both Penn and Teller. It looks like the game was
pretty much finished, just never found it's way to shelves.
The game is now available on the internet from a few major torrent sites.
It is two discs and available in NTSC format. I obviously won't give you the
link for the torrent through this FAQ but I mention it because it is likely
that Good Deal Games will pick this up as they have expressed interest in it.
Thanks go to Doug (MazinZ@aol.com) for the heads up.
On the 58th page of the August 1995 issue of Gamepro, there is a one page
section on this game that offers a more objective view than the Sega Visions'
feature. One interesting thing to note is that the article says it is
"available now" meaning that it was intended to come out between the time the
article was written and the magazine was published: probably late June of
1995.
The reason this game never saw the light of day is because in 1995,
Absolute Entertainment, the developer of the game, laid off nearly its entire
staff due to financial reasons.

Pit Fighter 2

there is a Sneak peak at the game Rise of the Robots. This game never was
released of the Sega CD. It does make appearances on the Genesis, SNES, Game
Gear and 3DO just to name a few. Supposedly published by JVC. On pages 20-
23 of the April 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is a large review
of this game. The review is for the Sega CD version as well as the Genesis
version and the SNES version. Within the article it says "plans are to
release the Sega CD version in June [1994]" which is the earliest date
amongst the versions in the article. In the info section at the beginning of
the article, it says the release date is May 1994 for the Sega CD game.
There is a lot of information, but only a few actual screen shots. Most of
the pictures are computer generated. Developed by Mirage and published by
JVC. On page 34 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, there is a
very small section about this game with one screen shot. Says it will be
available in June. In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page

Atlantis. Said to be available in fall of 1994.

Side Pocket
On page 25 of the December 1994 / January 1995 issue of Sega visions
magazine there is an ad for a Sega CD game called Side Pocket. It has the
box art and three screen shots. It is a pool (billiards) game. Made by Data
East. Also listed as coming out in November 1994 according to Game Players

section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future" Space
Pirates is listed here and is said to be made by American Laser Games. This
game is also listed in the back of the Mad Dog McCree and Who Shot Johnny
Rock manuals. In the January 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 198,
there is a small section about this game. The text confirms that it is a FMV
game and is made by American Laser Games. The article offers 4 screen shots.
Supposed to be available in January 1995.

Star Strike 2000
This game is listed in an advertisement on page 193 of the December 1995
issue of Gamepro Magazine under the Genesis section as a CD game. Retailed
for $58.

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Said to be released in 1993 and was made by Sega. In the August 1993 issue
of Game Player's Magazine, on page 46, there is a company by company "round
up" of the summer 1993 CES. Under Sega of America's section, at the end of
the first paragraph, it says Star Trek: The Next Generation for the Sega CD
and Genesis will be coming out.
In the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 123 there is an
advertisement for games. This game is listed under the Genesis Adventure
section as a CD game section for $64.
This game is also mentioned in "Compute's Sega CD Source Book" as an upcoming
release on page 227. Winter of 1993 is the release date. The game is full
motion video and was being made by Spectrum Holobyte.

Stellar 7
Said to be released in 1993 and made by Sierra On-line. The game exists on
the 3DO. In the October 1993 issue of Gamepro magazine, it says the game
Stellar Fire was based on the PC game Stellar 7. I believe that this was the
developmental name for what is now known as Stellar Fire and that it is the
same as what was rumored to be Stellar 7.

Super Battletank 2
In Sega Force Magazine (with Joe Montana on the cover) on the first page of
the Sega CD section there is a very small paragraph about this game and one
screen shot. The game was supposed to be made by Absolute Entertainment. In
the August 1993 issue of Game Player's Magazine, on page 46, there is a
company by company "round up" of the summer 1993 CES. Under Absolute's
section, this game is listed and is said to be their first Sega CD game.
This game also appears in "Compute's Sega CD Sourcebook" on page 229 as an
upcoming release. Winter 1993 is the speculated time period and the game was
supposed to feature digitized video.

Super Return of the Jedi
In the September 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 39, there is a
small article about winter CES '94 and the games shown there. It says it is
for the Genesis, SNES and Sega CD. I have a feeling this is an error because
the small article does not mention the Sega CD at all. However, it may just
have never came to be. Supposedly available in November and made by JVC.

Super Strike Trilogy
This game is listed in an advertisement on page 193 of the December 1995
issue of Gamepro Magazine under the Genesis section as a CD game. Supposed
to be available for $52.
In an E3 review in the August 1995 issue of Gamepro, page 38, this game is
said to have been announced. Supposed to be made by Electronic Arts and is said
to be a "Desert, Jungle, and Urban Strike copper combat" game.

Surgical Strike 32X
The manual for the Sega CD game Surgical Strike says there will be a 32X CD
version of the same game. While the normal version exists, the 32X version
does not. In the back of the manual for Fahrenheit it also listed.

Switch
On page 54 of the October 1992 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly at the
bottom left of the page, there is a two sentence write up about the game. It
says "A new genre of games which Sega calls animation-gagamation. This
adventure-type CD has humorous intermissions and gags spread throughout the
game." The screen shots are shown to the right of an animated child flipping
a switch and burning up.

Syndicate
This game is listed in an advertisement on page 139 of the September 1995
issue of Gamepro Magazine. This game exists on many other platforms such as
the SNES, 3DO and Jaguar to name a few. Also listed in an advertisement on
page 201 of the December 1995 issue of Gamepro Magazine for $53.

Terminator 2: The Arcade Game
Said to be made by Acclaim. In the August/September 1993 issue of Sega
Visions, on page 102 this is mentioned as coming out in August of 1993. The
game is supposed to be made by Flying Edge according to this source. On page
123 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an
advertisement for games. This is listed under the Genesis Shooters section
as a CD game for $49.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
In the August/September 1993 issue of Sega Visions, on page 102 this game
is also mentioned as coming out in August of 1993. The game is supposed to
be made by Flying Edge according to this source.

Thunder Hawk
In the April/May 1993 issue of Sega Visions, on page 103, there is a small
section about games coming out in June of 1993. Thunder Hawk is listed there
and is said to be made by JVC. In the June/July 1993 issue of Sega Visions,
on page 95, there is a small section about games coming out in July of 1993.
Thunder Hawk is listed there and is said to be made by JVC.

Time Cop
In the December 1994 issue of Game Players Magazine, on page 12 there is a
list of upcoming games. This is listed under February of 1995 and is said to
be made by JVC.

Total Carnage
In Sega Force Magazine (Joe Montana Cover), on the 5th page of the Sega CD
section, there is a small part that is titled "A Look into the Future."
Total Carnage is listed here and is said to be made by T*HQ. On page 123 of
the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an advertisement for
games. This is listed under the Genesis Shooters section as a CD game for
$49.

Treasures of Isis
On page 123 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an
advertisement for games. This is listed under the Genesis Role Playing
section for $49.

Virtual VCR: Prince
On page 32 of the April 1993 issue of Mega Play Magazine, there is a small
article about this game. Two screen shots are offered as well as a small
amount of text. It appears to be a bunch of Music Videos of Prince which you
can watch, rewind, pause and fast forward. Similar, if not exactly like, the
Make My Own Video Series. Made by Sega.

Wirehead CD
In the August 94 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 31, it that in
development for the 32X is a game called Wirehead CD. This game is obviously
an enhancement of the Sega CD game for use in conjunction with the 32X. On
page 7 of the February/March 1995 issue of Sega Visions, there is a very
small picture of the box art for this game. It is covered up partially by
that of Fahrenheit 32X CD but the name of the game and the side part can be
seen.

World Championship Rally
In the October 1994 issue of Gamepro Magazine, on page 256, there is a
small article about this game. It says it would be released for SNES and
Sega CD. As far as I know, it wasn't released for either system under that
name. There are 4 screen shots that make it a first person driving game
Supposed to be made by JVC and released December of 1994. Also listed as an
upcoming game for February 1995 in the December 119 issue of Game Players
Magazine.

World Series Baseball
In the back of the Jurassic Park manual, there is a screen shot for this
game. It says it would be available spring of 1994. Made by Sega. This is
also in the back of the NFL's Greatest Teams manual. This game is listed in
an advertisement in the January 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine on page
173 for $48.00.

Warriors of Rome
On page 172 of the January 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine, there is
an advertisement for "Games Galore," a company that buys and sells used
games. Under their Sega RPG section, this game is listed for $50.00. On
page 123 of the June 1994 issue of Game Player's Magazine there is an
advertisement for games. This is listed under the Genesis Shooters section
as a CD game for $54.

World Cup Golf
On page 9 of the December 1994 issue of Game Players, there is a list of up
coming games. For November 1994, World Cup Golf is listed and is said to be
made by US Gold. The game does exist on the 3DO, Play Station, Sega Saturn
and PC. In the December 1994 issue of Gamepro, on page 117, there is an
advertisement for Software Etc. This ad shows the box art shows a bag of
golf clubs against a black background and confirms US Gold's involvement.
There is a subtitle to the game which is too small to decipher.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is a list of some of the known European games. Huge thanks
to Matthew Bennion from England for giving me the initial list.
Also thanks to Yoer (Yuri van den Burg) for providing me with the full
list.
There are a total of 101 PAL region games. I am unsure if all these games
saw releases in all PAL countries but I assume they did unless other wise
noted. If you have any information of release dates or packaging that
differed from what was normal, please contact me. Also contact me if you
have producer/developer information. I don't live in a PAL country so it is
hard to collect this information for my self.

Version 2.00 completed November 22nd, 2005 at 12:18 pm Pacific Time
A fitting update for the true version 2.00. I changed the format for the
whole guide slightly. I used to have the guide at exactly 79 characters,
what Gamefaqs had set as the maximum. However, Word 2003 doesn't wrap the
spaces in between words so there would occasionally be spaces out to 81 and
82 characters wide causing me to have to use hard returns to get rid of them.
I decided to move the margins in 2 characters so I wouldn't have that problem
any more. As a result I took out all the hard returns (which was massive)
and re-compiled the guide. It was still 30 pages long with the margin
decrease. I also changed some of the last few lines in section one to
include the magazines I have been using as of late for my sources. I also
corrected quite a few typos as I went though the guide removing hard returns.
I can't remember what they were, but I corrected them. I also added
Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones to the rumored games
section, added Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis to the rumored games
section. 31 total pages when printed.

What to expect in future versions:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Updates on packaging, developers, producers, and release dates, specific
release dates as well as additions to the European release list, Australian
release list, and Japan release list. Those will be far off in the future
though. Also expect minor corrections to occur frequently as new games still
might come out thanks to Good Deal Games and other companies and home
brewers. I also plan to implement a part that says what accessories games
are compatible with, such as the activator, light gun, mouse, 6 button
controller and other things like that.
