"Updates and Forewords"] // [UPDFRE] =============================================================================== Updates: - Version 1.00 on 08/08/2012 Started. Forewords: - This FAQ is mainly for those who are curious about how the game is able to handle things that normally shouldn't happen, as well as seeing the exact reason for things you aren't legitimately able to see during the game's story. This is my first time writing a FAQ or a guide of any kind, so please bear with me if this seems to be a little lacking. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section I. "Against the Nyx Egg"] // [NYXEGG] =============================================================================== As you all know, after beating all thirteen forms of the Nyx Avatar, Minato (who, for the sake of this FAQ/guide will be called that) flies up to the moon and receives the Universe Persona which allows him to seal away the true form of Nyx: the Nyx Egg. Normally, as you're fighting it, you do little to no damage depending on your weapon, and the few turns that you do have are not enough to do any kind of substantial damage to it. The Egg, during all this, is just ripping you to shreds with the Death Spell. But what happens if you were to beat it? To attempt this, I brought Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Koromaru, with the modifier code in Section IX to change all of their spells to Death. Once I beat Nyx Avatar, I use the Party Modifier code to force the three into battle alongside me. This is where things got strange: There was no spots for the three to stand in, so all three of their models were mashed together in the middle of the area and they moved like they would normally in battle. With the Egg getting the first turn, he hit Mitsuru with a Death spell, and the game (presumably now confused as hell) let her withstand it as if Minato had taken it. At this time, Koromaru fired off his Death, and the game froze for a second, then a loud screech was emitted from the speakers, and the game played out the Great Seal cutscene. However, once Minato pulled the trigger, the other three fell down as if they had been knocked out in battle. The credits rolled like normal. In summary, what I believe happened was that the game tried to end the battle, since I did in fact beat the Nyx Egg. However, because of how that battle was programmed, the only way out of it may have had to be the Great Seal cutscene. If you attempted this and got a different result, please email me (email is in the conclusion) and explain what you found. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section II. "Against Elizabeth/Theo/Margaret"] // [ELTHMA] =============================================================================== The true ultimate bosses of P3P, they have special requirements regarding choice of Persona and choices of weapons. If these requirements aren't met, you'll end up with them spamming a modified version of Megidolaon at you for 9999 damage, multiple times if you happen to somehow revive. But what if I told you that every spell in their repetoire is also modified? ...Now what if I told you I found the hex values for said spells? Though I was trying out the modified spells on the second floor of Tartarus, I never saw a single spell (without any Boost/Amp spells, nor Elemental Accessories) do less than 6000 damage. I did find the said modified Megidolaon though, it's the same as if it was used against you. The SP used is also lower than normal, with the Ma-dyne spells being 32 SP and the Megidolaon being 60 SP. Looking around that spot in the game data, the status effect spells used by the aformentioned bosses also show up, but I'm not sure what is different about them aside from the lessened SP cost. On the subject of Liz and Theo, you can fight them as long as you have Monad unlocked, you don't need to actually accept the quest first. Once you reach the last floor and walk to the middle of it, he/she'll be there, just invisible. The reqirements obviously apply to the battle, and you don't get to fight them again; the game notices the flag if you beat them then accept the quest. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section III. "Regarding the Death Spell"] // [DTHSPL] =============================================================================== The Nyx Egg's unique move, as well as the most powerful single-hit attack in the game alongside Modified Megidolaon and Armageddon. ...Well, not really. You see, the actual Death spell you see in the final battle is actually three different spells. The first of the three is the most powerful, automatically doing 9999 damage as well as doing an instant Critical Hit, giving you unlimited One More turns if you constantly chain it. The best part about it? Besides being Almighty- type, there is no SP cost. Absolutely none. Just think about that for a second, then pick your jaw up off the ground. The second of the three doesn't do much. It does about as much damage as a normal spell, although its Almighty-type and has no SP cost. The last of the three, well... you remember the last Death spell you got hit by before the Great Seal needed to be cast? Remember how it got blocked? Yeah. That version of the Death spell does pitiful damage, but is also suprisingly Fire-based, and why do you think it got blocked? That's right, the Universe Persona nulls Fire. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section IV. "The Universe Persona"] // [UNIPER] =============================================================================== As you may know, you receive the Universe Persona from Igor as you're flying up to the moon to fight the Nyx Egg. However, since you don't have all your commands available to you, you're unable to check the moves and stats of the Universe Persona. I'm not sure there is a way to check what the Universe Persona has on it normally, since all it learns by Level Up is the Great Seal move. Though through my exploration of the skill values, the "withstanding the attack" you're able to do in the final battle is due to an ability called "Infinite Endure", which will be explained in more detail below. The Universe Persona has no picture, instead it borrows Loki's sprite like all the other placeholders. The Social Link is interestingly tied to a Universe Arcana, besides having it not ever seen anywhere else. It cannot fuse with anyone nor can it be fused, nor does it have a mythological background screen in the compendium. As said above, it is able to null Fire attacks, but there is no other resistances nor are there any weaknesses. All-in-all, its not too impressive a Persona in my opinion aside from it's ability. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section V. "Infinite Endure"] // [INFEND] =============================================================================== This skill, even on its own, will stop you from getting knocked out in any battle no matter what attack is used on you. Modified Megidolaon, Death, any Hama/Mudo spell (though they leave your HP at 1 if they do hit), you'll survive them all. The skill cannot be passed down through fusion, but the skill will stay with any Persona you've registered that you've hacked it onto. If you were to hack it onto someone in your party, they would get the same effects as if the skill was on your Persona. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section VI. "The Great Seal in Battle"] // [GRSEAL] =============================================================================== The Great Seal will not do anything in a regular battle. The HP needed is still what your max HP is, and when selected, it will just skip your turn, making it pretty useless. I have not tested whether or not Great Seal will work if I were to hack in the Nyx Egg through a Random Encounter Modifier. If anyone knows that code or can make it, please send it to my email to I can update this section. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section VII. "Hypnos/Moros/Medea/Psyche/Lucia/Juno"] // [PRSNAS] =============================================================================== Hypnos (Takaya's Persona), Moros (Jin's Persona), and Medea (Chidori's Persona) are all in the data as placeholder Personas, with the standard Loki picture and everything. However, aside from their names, their Arcanas are replaced with the words "S.LINK", meaning they don't belong to any Arcana. They cannot be fused into anything, nor can you view their mythological background screen in the compendium (well, you can, but all you'd see is the lower half of them and the game ends up not responding and eventually freezes). They do not have any skills through Level Up. Psyche (Metis's Persona in The Answer of P3FES) took me by surprise. Loki's sprite, like the others, but the Arcana is Hierophant, meaning perhaps Metis was proposed as an addition but time may have run out before she was fully implemented. She also learns no skills by Level Up, but due to her having an Arcana, I believe she can be fused with other Personas. Lucia and Juno are in this section because they are able to be used in battle, strangely enough. They don't move when they attack, but they are able to still cast spells. However, when you Level Up Lucia or Juno and attempt to gain a move only Fuuka would naturally learn, the game will freeze. Small unrelated note, but if you were to hack in the Persona value 00, Minato would sit there with his Evoker pointed at his head and looking menacingly at the opponent, however the game locks up right there and nothing can be done. Its just funny to think of him saying "I'm gonna do it. Don't make me do it." =============================================================================== =============================================================================== [Section VII.
