Step into an alternative history as famous as Oz,
with visuals of that bygone Japanese era.
In this fantasy, the first civilization arose in the Valley of Beauty,
as was the name of a sheltered meadow.
The topic of conversation was reducing killing.
Of course, the game also emphasizes cordialness,
as it proposes exploring its fabled and charming world for training and growth.

Long ago and far away, in antiquity ...
those that were banished from the paradise of the East
united to found a nation called Jipang.
Jipang's perimeter was enclosed by a sea all year round.
The seasons visited by exhibiting small flowers that bloomed over a wide area,
as the checkered meadows were tranquil with beauty, and the nation was friendly.
Even as a millennium passed since they were banished,
one day it came to pass ... that Jipang yet struggled with jobs on one occasion.
Poverty increased until people became desolate, without warmth.
These men went to work!  They spoke of a devil named Masakado.
Masakado desired to conquer Jipang, to become lord of the new paradise
via unconditional warfare.
After that, a base was built that would bring to naught all exiles.
Masakado destroyed it all, and surmounted the wreckage as a demonstration.
Jipang was divided by a fissure, for the most part.
The fissure rolled up into the bank of a barren river.
The sea dried up until it was empty.  It darkened like black lacquer, and sunk.
After that, such advanced blight dominated the landscape that even the resilient
organisms were dying and going extinct due to habitat loss ...
The Fire Clan met, and called for scouts to survey the source spring
that flowed into the sea.  Masakado appeared at the hill, to meet and demand.
The Fire Clan met again, to muster an army for a deadly war against Masakado.
They trained earnestly for numerous days until they were called champions.
That deadly war dragged on.  Masakado's ambition would not relent.
Together the Fire Clan found an opportunity to seal him inside below,
so that his power would dissipate and die out.  Jipang's security calmed.
Peace was restored to the young nation.  The waters glittered.
A big storm rolled through, reviving the tree saplings from above.
Flowers bloomed across the riverbanks, restoring the blue sky from below.
However, that peace of mind was only illusory in nature.
In time, Masakado's apostles would carry on his doctrine.
Within Jipang there were those that were dissatisfied with their prospects,
and plotted to resurrect Masakado.  They formed a cult for that purpose.
The commencement of that conduct earned raves from malcontents ...
An ancient musical instrument billowed across Jipang,
calling for the heap to be revealed.  Only a few were identified.
The Fire Clan remained together, in anticipation of his followers.
They saw the threat.

Wandering boy!  You study under the Toad Hermit, at his home!!
You study the same kind of mysticism as Masakado's followers.
The Toad Hermit eschews the insincerities of the cities.
You study under the shadow of a big tree, as his apprentice.
You declined the Fire Clan.  After that, you traveled the deer path by yourself.
You were told that the island had broken off.

Wow!  That kind of Wow indicates the trouble that is resurrected by a city.
An ancient musical instrument of a child billowed across the mountain
that the peace had finally ended.  The peace had bred complacency.

Toad Hermit says, "Courier!!"
Ziria [Young Thunder] says, "After the ancient musical instrument,
the birds and animals of the mountain also billowed across.
The Toads shall oppose everyone involved.
Should we defeat the zealots of Masakado and eliminate their avarice?"

Toad Hermit says, "Courier!!"
Ziria says, "In autumn, I shall take up the harvest of the apple trees,
and also the chestnut trees.
In addition, the blossoms of all of the vegetables.
I shall burn the weeds that have avarice"

Toad Hermit says, "Courier!!"
Ziria says, "For such curs, it is too late to ameliorate their prospects!!"

Toad Hermit says, "Producer!!  Ziria!!
In that case, your journey shall disrupt your studies in this dojo.
You shall be forced to train in the cruel wilderness!!
Will you defeat the zealots of Masakado that reside in Oira?"
Ziria says, "Perhaps ... if I cannot persuade them that their master is hollow"
Toad Hermit says, "For those dropouts in Oira,
you must continue your current training in the field!
You are the only that hopes to persuade the zealots,
even if they do not accept your argument.
You may recruit companions along your journey.
Another 2 may accompany you in your party.
These 2 companions shall lend you their might, until they depart.
You shall not be alone in your endeavor to block the resurrection of Masakado
the hollow!"
Ziria says, "Your view of the state of the world is a caricature!!
Masakado's zealots in Oira only hope to acquire the knowledge!
They yearn jobs and love!!"
Toad Hermit says, "Regardless, the Fire Clan shall lend you their power
until Masakado is defeated.  They shall overcome him!!"
