About Me Well, I've been playing MHF almost every day since itÕs come out and I would have to say that it is one of the best damn games out there with the exception of Pokemon and Final Fantasy 7 (yes I'm a fanboy). I have over 400 hours on this game and I decided to help out some ppl out by writing this FAQ cause I know trying to beat those wyverns with different amours and weapons can be hard for some. =========================================================================== 2. WhatÕs in this guide? In this guide will be instructions on where to go, what to do and what to get in the different areas. It will tell you the amour, items, weapons and skills the armor gives. ============================================================================== 3. What is the Training School? The training school is where you can practice against wyverns with pre-chosen equipment and items. It is unlocked for use after slaying your first Kut-Ku. The items you find around the map are different from that you find in the real quests. Also sometimes the wywerns have different amounts of health than the elder quests so if you need to you can check out cosmos89's Monster Stats FAQ. =========================================================================== 4. Kut-Ku SnS Weapon- Poison Axe Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Nothing Arm- Leather Vembraces Waist- Velociprey Tasset Legs- Green Pants Skills- Throwing Skill Up Items- 2 mini whetstones 1 Flash bomb Combo book 1, 2, 3 3 potions Portable Spit Pitfall Trap 1 Sonic bomb Tactics- Leave camp, and in area 1 look in the dung for some mega potions and in the plant for a map and a psychoserum. Run to area 3 and plant a pitfall. Kill the Velociprey for some throwing knives and in area 10 look for sleep herbs. Combine with throwing knives to get sleep throwing knives. When the Kut-Ku lands lead him into the trap, unload some combos on him until he escapes. Then use a flash and unload some more combos. He should be dead by now but if not then hit him a couple more times until he dies. GS Weapon- Vile Serpentblade Equipment- Head- Black Piercing Torso- Leather Armor Arm- Nothing Waist- Nothing Leg- Velociprey Greaves Skills- Detect Items- Psychoserum 4 Potions 2 Mini Whetstones 2 Rations 2 Paintballs Tactics- Get the mega potions and the map, go to area 3 and wait. When the Kut-Ku lands wait until he starts to growl and then hit his head. Repeat until he tries to limp away then just follow him to the den and hit him until he dies. Simple. ÒMCÓ Hammer Weapon- Iron Impact Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Nothing Arm- Kut-Ku Vembraces Waist- Iron Belt Legs- Rathalos Greaves Skills- Health+10 Attack Up Small Items- Powercharm 1 Mega Demondrug 1 Power Juice Tactics- HAMMER TIME! Basically do the same as the GS but donÕt even use the spinning hammer thing, (Holding R then release while moving) it sucks. Just take the mega Demondrug when you see him and hit triangle 3 times when he growls. Should take u bout 7 min. Lance Weapon- Barbaroi Tusk Equipment- Head- Red Piercing Torso- Nothing Arm- Nothing Waist- Hide Belt Legs- Bone Greaves Skills- Fire Res +5 Items- 2 Mini Whetstone Armorcharm 2 Well-Done Steak Tactics- Same as GS and Hammer (grab mega potion) and wait till he sees u. Then when he growls do O O O on his head and keep doing this until he dies. (Kut KuÕs a simpleton, not much strategy to it). Light Bowgun Weapon- Jade Storm Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Chain Mail Arm- Chain Vembraces Waist- Hunters Coat Legs- Blue Pants Skills- Defense +15 Health +10 Items- 60 Pierce lv 1 Normal lv 1 60 Pellet lv 1 9 Crag lv 1 and 2 2 Rations 3 Potions Tactics- Well, I donÕt think you will need the Mega potions for this but get them anyway. Run around until u find him then unload the Crag lv 1 and 2 on his FACE. Then unload the pellet shots because the have the water element. If heÕs not dead then shoot the pierce shot on his FACE so that it goes to his wing or tail. NEVER and I repeat Never use normal lv 1 on a wyvern and only things like Felyne and Velociprey cause itÕs just dumb. 2. Cephadrome SnS Weapon- Red Saber+ Equipment- Head- Genprey Cap Torso- Hunters Mail Arm- Nothing Waist- Nothing Legs- Gypceros Greaves Skills- Stun Duration Halved Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 1Sonic Bomb 1,2,3 Book Of ComboÕs 3 Potions 2 Rations 1 Cool Drink Portable Spit Tactics- Run to the desert part and take the Cool Drink. Find the Cephadrome (the big black fin sticking out of the ground) and use the sonic bomb. While heÕs flopping around hit him as many times as u can until he starts spinning. The stand in front of him and wait until he rears his head back to shoot a sand ball then run up from the side and do a jump attack combo on his head. Pull back before you get hit and repeat. GS Weapon- Iron Katana ÔGospelÕ Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Cephalos Mail Arm- Nothing Waist- Genprey Tasset Legs- Blue Pants Skills- Heat Reduced by Half Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 1 Psychoserum 5 Potions 2 Rations 1 Cool Drink 2 Paintballs 2 Sonic Bombs Tactics- This can be finished in 3 minutes if you do it right. As soon as u start take the cool drink and forget the Apceros. Find the Cephadrome and throw the sonic. Hit him while he flops around and when he gets up stay under his legs and keep pressing triangle, circle, triangle circle, circle triangle He should die very quickly. Cephadrome stops for about 3 seconds at each 3rd turn. Wait at the turn and when he stops triangle him until he either (1. Keeps swimming or 2. Is sent flying into the air) If 1 do it again, if 2 keep beating the crap out of him and bust on his head when he shoots a sandball. O Yeah and donÕt forget to take the Mega Demondrug. Now wait at the 3rd turn and when he stops pummel him. Once he out of the ground u can get some cheap shots by throwing the flash bomb. Wait till he shoots a sand ball and the get his head with circle circle circle. Shoot him with a crag to get him out of the ground. Get in front of him and shoot both thunder S and pierce through his head. Then shoot the Clust on his back. Gypceros Dual Swords Weapon- Cyclone Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Battle Mail Arm- Hornet Vembraces Waist- Hi Metal Tasset Legs- Hornet Greaves Skills- Detect Poison Dur Halved Items- 4 Mini Whetstone 2 Flash Bombs 1,2,3 Book of ComboÕs 2 Large Barrel Bombs 5 Potions 5 Paralyze Thr Knf 2 Power Juice 2 Antidotes 2 Paintballs Tactics- When u find him paintball him and use the throwing knives. While he is stunned plant the bombs. To detonate them u have to hit them the roll away immediately. Then Demonize and when he runs toward u then stops and bite at things in front of him attack with triangle circle (cause everything else will be deflected), after 2 of these the light crystal will be knocked off. Then just pummel him until he dies. GS Weapon- Redwing Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Kut-Ku Mail Arm- Bone Vembraces Waist- Kut-Ku Tasset Legs- Bone Greaves Skills- Anti-Theft Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 1 Psychoserum 3 Mega Potions 2 Rations 2 Paintballs 3 Antidotes Tactics- Paintball the wyvern use psychoserum to make it easier and hit his head when he bites. When the crystal is gone it make your job much easier. The go between his legs and keep upwards slashing him. HAMMER TIME! Since your knock out is negated u donÕt have to worry about hitting his head (Unless u want to kill him faster - not recommended). Take the Demondrug and hold R then run between his legs, stop then release to hit him hard. The press circle tri tri tri and roll away. Then lay the bombs around his head and set them off with your spear. Sit in front of him with your shield out and when he bites at you hit min with triangle with your shield still up. Then bust away at his legs while watching out for his tail. Light Bowgun Weapon- Shotgun Emerald Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- HunterÕs Vest Arm- Velociprey Guards Waist- Ioprey Coat Legs- Velociprey Leggings Skills- Knockout Prob Halved Items- Normal lv 1 Crag lv 1 Clust lv 1 Pierce lv 1 Pellet lv 1, 2 Stun lv 1 3 Potions 2 Rations 3 Antidotes Tactics- K, once you find him shoots the crags at his head to get the lightcrystal off. The use the clusts on his upper stomach. Then finish him off with the 2 pellets. Easy pisy lemon squeezy. 4. Rathalos SnS Weapon- Frost Edge Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Diablos Mail Arm- Diablos Vembraces Waist- Velociprey Tasset Legs- Blue Pants Skills- High Wind Res Hunger (x1.5) Items- 5 Mini Whetstones 1,2,3 Book of ComboÕs 5 Flash Bombs Portable Spit 6 Potions 3 Paintballs 2 Pychoserum Tactics- Use a Pychoserum to find him then paint it. Flash him then unload on his head. Keep doing this until you run out of flashes. Then wait until he spits a fireball then do a combo on his head. GS Weapon- Defender Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Battle Mail Arm- Chain Vembraces Waist- Rathalos Tasset Legs- Rathalos Greaves Skills- Defense +10 Attack up (small) Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 1 Pychoserum 5 Mega Potions 2 Rations 2 Paintballs 2 Flash Bombs 2 Large Barrel Bombs Pitfall Trap Tactics- Kill the aptonoth (the dinosaur thing) and take the meat then in the forest get the sleep herbs. Make drugged meat then once you see the los and he doesnÕt see you place the meat and hide. HeÕll eat it then fall asleep. Place the bombs on his head then set them off. Then flash him and hit his head. Once out of flashes he should be almost dead so run at him and just hit him as many times as you can. Wait till he shoots a fireball then hit him with a triple triangle. If he falls over then keep pummeling his face. If he starts to limp away then run at him while holding R and release when you touch him and send his @$$ to hell. Lance Weapon- Aqua Spear+ Equipment- Head- Protection Piercing Torso- Steel Mail Arm- Hi-Metal Vembraces Waist- Hi-Metal Tasset Legs- Silver Boots Skills- Combine Success +5% Auto-Guard Items- 2 Mini Whetstones Armorcharm 1 Mega Nutrients 3 Potions 2 Flash Bombs 1 Mega Juice Tactics- Once u find him charge at him and keep going past him so he doesnÕt charge u. Then go up to him when he spits a fireball and triple circle his head and if he flinches roll and hit his wing with a triple circle. Keep doing this until he tries to limp away. Charge at him and keep going until he flies away or you kill him. First use the Pellet Shots then use Clust 2 while making more with Wyvern Claw and Small Bone Husk. Once your out of that Clust lv 1 will finish him off. 5. Basarios Dual Swords Weapon- Dromenail Equipment- Head- Expert Piercing Torso- Velociprey Mail Arm- Hi-Metal Vembraces Waist- Rathalos Tasset Legs- Rathalos Greaves Skills- Sharpness +1 Attack Up (Small) Blunt Items- 5 Mini Whetstone 2 Flash Bombs Portable Spit Pitfall Trap 3 Antidotes 1 Mega Juice 4 Mega Potions Tactics- Go to area 2 where he is the big rock in the ground. Take the mega juice and use the flash bombs and demonize him. Then use the Pitfall and demonize him. Then let him charge at you and dodge it. Then run up behind him and bust away at his stomach until he tries to use the poison gas. Repeat until dead. GS Weapon- Ravager Blade+ Equipment- Head- Rathian Helm Torso- Chain Mail Arm- Genprey Vembraces Waist- Iron Belt Legs- Rathian Greaves Skills- Health +20 Items- 5 Mini Whetstone 5 Potions 3 Antidote Herbs 2 Rations Tactics- Since you have no extra items to help you fight him you have to fight him the old fashioned way. Wait till he charges then run up behind him and pummel his stomach. Keep doing this until he tries to use his poison gas. Roll away and repeat until he dies. Hammer Weapon- Bone Broadaxe Equipment- Head- Nothing Torso- Monoblos Mail Arm- Monoblos Vembraces Waist- Nothing Legs- Gravios Skills- Attack Up (Small) Items- 1 Mega Juice Powercharm 5 Mini Whetstones Health Flute Antidote Flute Demon Flute Armor Flute Tactics- Run to area 2 and play both demon and armor flutes. Go up between BasariosÕs legs and triple triangle him. If your boost from the flutes. Go to the area before it and recharge the boosts. Go back and repeat. Then run around while shooting both pellets until he dies. 6. Once you find the Rathian start to throw the Flash Bombs and Demonize and press circle circle on her head. Then if you can lay the Pitfall and take a power pill. When she falls in you should demonize Triangle Circle. If sheÕs not dead yet then hit her in the head a couple of times. Wait until she shoots a fireball and hit her tail till she turns around. Keeps doing this until her tail comes off. Then when she spits a ball of fire hit her head. Repeat until she dies. Hold R and run towards her and hit her legs until she falls over. Then while sheÕs on the ground hit her head with triple triangle. Then wait till she spits a fireball then triple triangle her head. Plesioth aka Plessy aka Nessie SnS Weapon- Black Belt Sword Equipment- Head- Technique Piercing Torso- Lobster Mail Arm- Nothing Waist- Steel Belt Legs- Khezu Greaves Skills- Bomber Throwing Skill Up Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 2 Flash Bombs Book of ComboÕs 1, 2, 3 5 Sonic Bombs 5 Potions Potable Spit Pitfall Trap 3 Large Barrel Bombs 2 Large Barrel Bomb+ 5 Throwing Knives Tactics- Run to area 8 and search for a frog. Once you get one go back to area 7 and fish for Nessie. Once out of the water flash her and plant the LBB+ at her feet and detonate them then. Plant the rest and detonate them. Flash her again and Combo her head until she comes to. Plant the Pitfall right where he runs to get back in the water (you might not need it). Wait in front of her and when she spits ice at you hit her head with a combo. GS Weapon- Eager Cleaver Equipment- Head- Sword Saint Piercing Torso- Nothing Arm- Gravios Vembraces Waist- Khezu Tasset Legs- Gravios Greaves Skills- ESP Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 5 Sonic Bombs 1 Pychoserum 5 Mega Potions 2 Rations 2 Paintballs Tactics- Run to area 8 and find a frog. Go back to area 7 and fish. When she spits at you hit her head. Repeat. If she goes into the water throw a sonic. Keep hitting her head when she spits until she dies. Hammer Weapon- Earthshaker Equipment- Head- Khezu Helm Torso- Khezu Mail Arm- Rathalos Vembraces Waist- Gypceros Tasset Legs- Khezu Greaves Skills- Damage Rec Speed +1 Items- 2 Mega Juice 5 Sonic Bombs 1 Mega Demondrug Powercharm 5 Mega Potions 2 Mini Whetstones Tactics- Run to area 7, take mega juice, take Demondrug. Throw the sonic at Plessy until she jumps out of the water. Hold R and when she spits run up, stop and release. Repeat. Once the top fin is limping downwards run between her leg and triple triangle her to death. Lance Weapon- Babel Spear Equipment- Head- Battle Helm Torso- Battle Mail Arm- Battle Vembraces Waist- Khezu Tasset Legs- Gravios Greaves Skills- Guard +1 Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 5 Sonic Bombs Armorcharm 1 Mega Nutrients 3 Mega Potions 2 Well-Done Steaks Tactics- Once you throw the sonic and sheÕs flopping on the ground charge at her so u go from her head to tail. Wait till she spits ice at u and charge at her head (cause when she spits she lowers her tail just after-Perfect for charging). Once you run low on Stamina forget the Well-Done Steaks and just triple triangle her head when spitting. Heavy Bowgun Weapon- Yian Kut-Ku Cannon Equipment- Head- Ambitious Piercing Torso- Chain Mail Arm- Kut-Ku Guards Waist- Rathian Tasset Legs- Rathian Leggings Skills- Rapid Fire Strength -10 Items- Normal lv 1 Crag lv 2 Pierce lv 2 Pellet lv 2 5 Potions Normal lv 2 Normal lv 3 2 Rations Tactics- Crag her out of the water and jump on the ledge. Shoot the Pierce shots through her head to tail. If she goes back in the water use another crag. Then use Normal lv 2, 3 on her head until she dies. 8. Monoblos SnS Weapon- Frightbane Equipment- Head- Black Piercing Torso- Steel Mail Arm- Diablos Vembraces Waist- Rathalos Soul Coil Legs- HunterÕs Greaves Skills- Autotracker Items- 2 Mini Whetstones 5 Flash Bombs Book of ComboÕs 1, 2, 3 3 Mega Potions 2 Well-Done Steaks 2 Sonic Bombs Tactics- Run to Monoblos and throw a flash. Hit his legs till he comes to. When he tries to charge throw a flash and when he burrows throw a sonic just as his tail disappears. DonÕt throw anything if heÕs in rage mode (thereÕs red on his head crest). Then go right up against the wall (if there is one) and dodge at the last second so heÕll get stuck. Keep doing this until he dies. GS Weapon- Sieglinde Equipment- Head- Expert Piercing Torso- Plesioth Mail Arm- Monoblos Vembraces Waist- Chrome Metal Coat Legs- Chrome Metal Boots Skills- Sharpness +1 Blunt Items- 3 Whetstones 1 Psychoserum 5 Mega Potions 4 Rations Farcaster 2 Paintballs 2 Sonic Bombs Tactics- This for me was by far the hardest training mission EVER! Use the Psychoserum and find the Monoblos. ONLY fight him while in an area with a ledge. Get up on the ledge and when he gets stuck jump down and hit his tail until unstuck. Repeat until tail is no more. Then do the same thing except stay on the ledge and hit his head. If he runs wait until heÕs in an area with a ledge before fighting him again.
