Class 1: A standard class, which introduces you to the world of Ridge Racer. Class 2: A class consisting of machines with higher performance and more style than those in Class 1. Class 3: A class consisting of machines designed specifically for racing. Class 4: A class consisting of Class 1 machines tuned up for racing. Class 5: A class consisting of Class 2 machines tuned up for racing. Class 6: The fastest class consisting of Class 3 machines tuned for extreme performance. Special: A special class consisting of unique concept machines. Part 2: Car types In every car class, there are nine cars (except for Special class), divided in three types. Type-S: The basic car spec. Minor top speed. Type-R: Intermediate choice for a Type-S and a Type-Z car. Intermediate top speed. Type-Z: Best car choice. Max top speed Part 3: Drift types Every car has a his drift type. Standard: No distinctive characteristics, but well-balanced for easy drifting. Mild: Drift are difficult to maintain over long stretches, but are easy to exit. Dynamic: Drifts are highly maneuverable and easy to maintain without losing much speed, but require precise control to exit. Special: A drift type used only for Special class cars.
