Intro
Howdy folks, aces4839 here again. This time, I will provide what the VS
Characters say when you first encounter them, after you lose the VS Match and
after you win the VS Match. This will include all secret characters as well.
Of course, this will include the presenter of each match also. To quickly
lose a VS Match that's not a Stroke Play match, after placing the ball on the
tee, open up the Options menu and select Give Up. You can hold the Ctrl+F keys
to find a specific character you're looking for.

distance of your 1W! (it's at least 95% power but you get the idea)
Hikari - She's right. The strength of each club develops independently with
the new character growth system.
Tomomi - So if I stick with my 1W the whole time, none of my other clubs will
gain any distance! Makes sense!
Hikari - Oh, yes. There's another thing.
Hikari - When you beat a VS opponent, you acquire that character's voice,
animations, and even their whole wardrobe as cosplay items!
Hikari - So, get out there, and show Tomomi who's boss!
Tomomi - Whaaaa, Hikari, that sounds just a little biased.

Hikari - Now, this match will be played on the 9H (OUT) of Course 1.
Hikari - It's a very metropolitan course, near Golf Island's central district.
Hikari - The format is Match Play, which means that a winner will be
determined for each hole.
Hikari - Win, and you're 1UP. Lose, and you're 1DOWN.
Hikari - Match Play can end early in a called game, if either player goes 3 UP
on the opponent.
Hikari - Well, enough talk. You'll see how it all works soon enough.
Hikari - You'll be using Regular Tees, for a shorter distance.
Hikari - It's your first match, so the cups are rather large. We like to call
them Mega Cups.
Tomomi - Big cups, really? Then we'll be chipping-in like mad! How exciting!
Hikari - Now, are you ready to challenge Tomomi?

Hikari - Oh, if you want to challenge Tomomi to another match, just speak to

Specs - It's me, trusty four-eyes. You (supposed to be Your) next opponent is
Gabriel, the youngest player in the line-up.
Gabriel - Hi, I'm Gabriel. I'm really into soccer, to explain my outfit.

Gabriel - You know what? I've only just started playing golf, so my skills are
not very developed...
Gabriel - But I've been going a bit mad with backspin. It's all I ever do
these days.
Gabriel - If you hit with backspin and land on the green, the backspin for
that club is applied.
Specs - Oh, to hit with backspin, press down on the directional pad at the
moment of impact. (You can also hold down the button during impact)
Gabriel - Yes, that's it! But backspin gives the ball more air, making it less
consistent.
Gabriel - Oh, yeah! I'm feeling just a little nervous, so I'm going to try my
beginner's ball.
Specs - Smart thinking. The beginner's ball takes off the pressure by widening
the impact zone.
Specs - And you can use as many beginner's balls and standard balls as you
like without running out.
Gabriel - Of course, the beginner's ball has reduced distance. Now, let's get
this match started, shall we?
Specs - Again, you're playing the 9H (OUT) of Course 1, using Regular Tees.
You must be getting comfortable with this course?
Specs - The format is Match Play. But Gabriel is still a young lad, so we'll
be using Tornado Cups.

Specs - Indeed. These helpful cups will draw in anything nearby.

Specs - Yes, perhaps, Only, eagles scored on Mega Cups and Tornado Cups are
not officially scored.
Specs - Even birdies and pars only score off the record. No-one will be
getting away with anything today.

Gabriel - Yeah, I did it! I think playing soccer has actually helped my golf
game.
Gabriel - Use the L1 and R1 buttons to select a club, and the directional
buttons to select shot direction. These are the pre-shot fundamentals. Ask me
more later!
Specs - You can practice shooting during the loading screen. Give it a try!
Specs - Focus on getting in the pink zone, and you'll be moving up the ranks
in no time!

Cindy - I haven't really played golf for very long. My main thing now is to
land the ball close to the pin, as sort of an exercise in control.
Cindy - You know, if you hit enough shots like that, your character will learn
to handle that club with more control.
Cindy - Oh yes, the other day I tried a shot with Power Mode.
Cindy - It extended my drive by 10Y! I just wish I could hit even more of
them!
Cindy - I heard that when you rank up, you can find a Power Mode power-up
somewhere in your home area whenever you go up a rank.
Specs - Absolutely right. After ranking up, take a good look around your home
area and you'll be sure to find it! Until a certain rank that is...
Cindy - Fantastic! So if I find more power-ups, I'll be able to take more
shots in Power Mode! And wow, if I get at least seven Power Mode shots, I'll
be all set!

Specs - So, today's match is on old faithful, the 9H (OUT) of Course 1, using
Regular Tees.
Specs - The format is Match Play.
Specs - But it's the final match for Rank 1, so you'll be using Normal Cups.
Cindy - Awww! Regular size? The Mega Cups are so much better.
Specs - Now hang on, these are standard-sized cups. Better to give them a try
sooner than later.
Hikari - On another note, this match will be played with a unique rule.
Hikari - Both of you will be playing with Auto Impact (2-press shot).
Cindy - What! Auto Impact?! The one that takes care of your impact timing?
Hikari - Yes. It's very helpful for beginners, and you should see how it
works.
Cindy - You just hit the first two beats, and the third is auto, right? Easy
enough!
Hikari - We'll have to play this match with a 2-press, but normally you'll
decide between 2-press and 3-press on the confirmation screen before the round
begins.
Hikari - Another very important thing, (nickname). If you beat Cindy, you'll

Hikari - That's right. It's a technique for making adjustments to shots that
have too much or too little power.
Ryoko - So, you press those buttons to adjust the power at the moment of
impact, then?
Hikari - Yes. Press triangle to add additional power and press circle to
soften the shot.
Ryoko - Sounds like it could be problematic without experience. I'll make
sure I practice before I preach.

IN round, I presume.
Hikari - It's still the same familiar Course 1, so there's not much change in
difficulty.
Hikari - Normally, this would be a Match Play game...
Hikari - But this time, you'll be playing your first Stroke Format game.
Ryoko - What! Stroke Format?! You mean, just like a proper tournament?
Hikari - Yes. Only there's just two entrants. Think of it as a tournament for
two.

Hikari - That's it. And you don't take turns, so you can move straight along.

Specs - Your next opponent is the colossal Takamori.
Takamori - Osu! I'm Takamori. I'm an ex-sumo wrestler, but I like golf, too.

Takamori - Sumo and golf are both about standing your group. You have to
hunker down and take the knocks.
Takamori - I've been working hard on my putt. It's all I could think of doing,
since I can never land very close to the pin.
Takamori - I get the feeling that the more long putts I make, the easier the
ball sinks into the cup.
Specs - Yes, that's absolutely right. This Back Door skill can be developed.
It prevents balls from ricocheting off the cup.
Takamori - Yeah, I thought so! Oh, is it true that it's possible to interpret
the slopes on the green?
Specs - Check the grid. The dots flow downwards like water to indicate
downward slopes. The ball will roll in the direction of the flow.
Takamori - Okey dokey! So, check the flow of the dots to adjust your angle to
account for slopes.
Takamori - All right, let's get this match rolling! Fight clean, and fight
hard!

Pancho - Oh, hold on. Have you learned how to deal with trees that are
standing right in the way?
Pancho - Well, that's what sidespin is for. It sends that ball in a lovely
curve right around your obstacle.
Hikari - He's right. Pressing either of the left or right directional buttons
at the moment of impact will apply sidespin.
Hikari - Pressing left hits a fade, which curves from the left to the right.
Pressing right hits a draw, that curves in the exact opposite manner.
Pancho - Mmnnn... D*** it, it's so easy to get that mixed up, but with a
little practice we should be spot on!
Hikari - Are you comfortable with Course 2 now?

Hikari - The IN is a forested course, just as beautiful as the OUT.
Hikari - The match will be played as a Stroke Format game, rather than a Match
Play game.

stats, right?
Hikari - Yes, that's the nice thing about Stroke Format games. Also, you'll be

we're called Team Sniper, alright, we're not gun nuts or anything!

Honghua - Ugh, this is why I have to disclaimer it every single time! We're
just a normal team, ok... Normally obsessed with control...

Each revenge match can only happen once per day and a random character appears
each day. You can close the application and reopen it to possibly get a
different VS character. This can be useful if you want to get Kato right away
so you can get the rest of the fish from each course including the newly
opened Imperial Garden course in the Special Rank. These will again be in the
same order as they would appear in each rank. All matches, however, are Match
Play format matches with random rules. DLC courses you may have installed can
also be selected as the course to play on for that match. Even if you lose the
VS match, that's ok. You can try again just like every other time. All Revenge
VS characters are much tougher and Adam has raised his golf level to 14.
Everybody else is level 13. Good luck defeating them all again!
