Persona 5 Guide to confusing the Mementos Targets a.k.a. The Mementos Confusion Guide by Jake Pizorno, a.k.a. Ridjenite Huge note: This trick will not work in the Royal version of the game. However, Atlus also made getting funds a whole lot easier, thus negating the need for this trick in the first place. But until then, feel free to confuse the heck out of these guys. Ever wondered if you could confuse a certain target in Mementos and see what you could get? Or have you heard about the trick and want to see which targets it will work on, and don't wat to sift through an entire guide to figure it out? Worry no more. This guide will tell you not only what you're dealing with to help you come up with a strategy, what mission they're from, their location, and, most importantly, if you can even do the trick in the first place. The way this guide is set up, the difficulty will be on a scale of 0-3, 0 being impossible to inflict, 1 being very low odds of success, 2 being it will miss at times, and 3 being a 100% success. I would suggest using Pulipna, as it is the cheaper and more effective solution by far. You don't want to risk killing off the targets until you are sure you have every last yen you want out of them, so physical attacks causing confusion are out, and you don't want to use Tentarafoo, the attack-all confusion spell, because it is less likely to work (this is also another problem with the physical attacks- they have low odds of success). So, with that out there, where can we get this skill? Luckily, Pulipna can be found pretty quickly with the mandrake persona in Kamoshida's palace. You can even transfer that skill in your fusions early on. There are other personas with this ability, but mandrake will do in the beginning. Also, you can use the gallows to give this to other personas. Just make sure you save. Also, I hear you can negotiate with the mandrakes for a Pulipna skill card. I have found that the Luck (Lu) stat holds some sway over how much yen drops per turn, but it is not as important as the area where you find your marks. Although this will require further testing. Edit: As it turns out, yes, it does have quite a lot to do with the cash drops. The problem is that it takes a lot of money to make that kind of money. And now onto the meat of the guide. This will consist of 5 parts of information- A- The mission you will find the target. B- the specific area in Mementos where you will find them. C- The corresponding persona the shadow becomes D- The difficulty, from 0-3, and finally, E- Any notes of worth and/or how to get. Mishima will be the most prominent. I will break down each of the 7 major areas of Mementos by number, from 1-7 based on the section- 1 for Qimranut (2 floors), 2 for Aiyatsbus (7 floors), 3 for Chemdah (8 floors), 4 for Kaitul (10 floors), 5 for Akzeriyyuth (12 floors), 6 for Adyeshach (13 floors), and 7 for Sheriruth (14 floors), and the floor of said area they are on. Also worth noting is that for the ones that need jobs to gain the information, you must have worked in said jobs twice for the target's info. If you have been working them more than once before getting the request, the next time you work them will be when you get the info. Qimranut- 1 target Beware the Clingy Ex-boyfriend!- 1-2, Obariyon, 2. First mission. The only mandatory mission Aiyatsbus- 4 targets The Bark and Bite of a Bully- 2-2, Jack Frost, 1. One Who Bullies Bullies- 2-5, Black Frost, 0-1. Mishima SL at lvl 3, and beat Bark and Bite. Listen to the convo outside of the school gates to activate it. Defeating the shadow allows you to fuse it much later in the game. Phantom Thieves VS Burglary Ring- 2-6, Mithras, 2. Summons two creatures- an Oni and an Onmoraki. Kill them first. Sadism Is Just a Sign of Love- 2-7, Yaksini, 0. Chemdah- 5 targets Part-time Job, Full-time Hell- 3-1, Setanta, 3. Mishima SL at lvl 4. Bad Medicine- 3-2, Thoth, 3. Takemi SL at lvl 7. Ending the Boyfriend's Abuse- 3-3, Sui-ki, 3. Needed for Mifune's SL to start. A Teacher Maid to Suffer- 3-7, Oberon/Titania, 2/0 Kawakami SL at lvl 8. Defeat Titania first. The Lovesick Cyberstalking Girl- 3-8, Bugs, 0. Beating it allows you to fuse it. Kaitul- 7 targets Calling for Justice for Cats- 4-1, Pisaca, 0. Mishima SL at rank 5. Work at the convenience store Debunking the Psychic- 4-3, Baphomet, 0. Mifune at lvl 7. Try brainwashing instead. Or you will have a very bad time. Ironic, is it not, that the brainwasher's shadow is so weak to brainwashing himself? Shady Deal in the Shadows- 4-4, Belphegor, 0. Iwai SL at lvl 7. Who's Been Assaulting People?- 4-5, Kin-ki, 2. Work at the Flower shop We Aren't Just Your Slaves- 4-8, Kumbhanda, 0. Work in the bar Fighting for Truth in Journalism- 4-9, Take-Minakata, 0. Ohya SL at lvl 7 Who's Muscling in Yogen-Jaya? 4-10, Ippon Datara, 0. Akzeriyyuth- 4 targets Man of Many Faces and Debts- 5-3, Legion, 3. Mishima SL at lvl 8. Fitting persona, no? Winners Don't Use Cheats- 5-5, Ose, 0. Don't even bother. Everything will miss. Confronting him activates Oda's SL. Once you establish that SL, return to the area and use Down Burst for an easy win. This needs a full clip of ammo to pull this one off, unless you upgraded Oda's SL to lvl 6. Then you'll only need six. Upstaging the Stage Mother- 5-6, Lilim, 0. Togo SL at lvl 8 The Killer Who Cleans Up Trash- 5-12, Rakshasa, 0. Adyeshach- 3 targets +1 special target The Money-grubbing Uncle- Special, Grimhelaka, 3. Sojiro SL at lvl 8, speak to Futaba. This will be a one-on-one with this guy. He loses his resistances, but gains fast heal, so you only get one turn of confusion before it needs to be reapplied. Try a persona immune to physical attacks for an easier time! Daughter's Just a Meal Ticket- 6-3, Inc/Succubus, 3/0. Futaba SL at lvl 7. Don't even bother. He only drops 1 yen. Might as well have not made him easy to confuse. Or perhaps it's a reflection of his bad habits. A Mother's Aggression- 6-11, Dakini, 0. Oda SL at rank 8. Swindling Old Folks is Pretty Low- 6-13, Chernobog, 3. Sheriruth- 1 targe The Head Honcho in Showbiz- 7-14, Mara (yes, THAT persona), 0. Shido must be defeated. Another fitting persona. The less I say about THIS one, the better. SO with that out of the way, we'll list here the ones you want to focus on here. The Top Marks are as follows: 3-1, Setanta 3-2, Thoth 3-3, Sui-ki 5-3, Legion 6-S, Grimhelaka 6-13, Chernobog And those that need a little more "persuading:" 1-2, Obariyon 2-6, Mithras 3-7, Oberon 4-5, Kin-ki So, out of 25 targets, only 10 can even be used for this money farm trick. But boy howdy will it add up. And so, there are the requests in order of descent. I do hope this guide helps.
