[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] Hello, and welcome to my "Stories: The Path of Destinies" Trophy guide. Quick help to let you do this to best, I suggest not getting the Final Sword FU upgrade till you get all the combo trophies, everything else is pretty generous. If you cannot get the no damage trophy early on, you can always delete you data and do it on an easier playthrough, with your knowledge of the game, it should be easier, so do not stress! Other express tips: Unlock the dash, then shield grabber skill asap (unless you get the shield breaker gem and don't mind using it). When going for the least amount of playthroughs, check the "Book Worm" section as some levels give out a FULL level of exp, write them down! (you don't want to get that reward with 29999/30000) Trophies are listed by the order they are listed in the menu. Table of Contents (place the name of the trophy you need in the FIND menu, and replace the "--" with a "~" to find it faster) --Gray fox is my pup --New reader --Excalibur? This is unlocked after all the other trophies are unlocked... and like all other games, the Platinum trophy doesn't actually add to your PSN level. I imagine this is a Metal Gear Solid referance. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~New reader (Bronze) "You have opened the book for the first time." A free garbage trophy for simply starting the game part of the game. You can't miss this unless you don't even play. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Excalibur? Nah! (Bronze) "Craft a magical sword (Firestorm, Winterthorne or Void Blade)." There are many other trophies that require you to open doors and get all the weapons maxed out, so this will come easy to you. Don't stress over getting them ASAP or missing an ore, you will no doubt get this with in your 25 minimum playthroughs. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~What does the fox choose? (Bronze) "Make your first choice." After almost every level, you can choose between at least two quest arcs, you have to choose, so this is a free trophy for beating the first level. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Finders keepers (Bronze) "Open 10 small chests." Chests will respawn each playthrough, so getting 10 (blue) chests will be easy as pie in the 25 playtroughs you'll need for the Platinum. Blue chests aren't really hidden, and there is literally one in the first level as you start the game (second and + playthroughs). Blue chests usually have ores and healing items in them, once you upgrade all your weapons to the max, they will only spit out health items (not magic items!) so once you get all the chest trophies, you won't need to open them unless you need health. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Anger management (Bronze) "Destroy 100 inanimate objects." When you start the game, you will need to look for ores, some can be found in barrels, crystals, etc... just smash them. If something doesn't smash from an attack, try dashing into it. If you break just 4 items a playthrough, you'll get this, but chances are you should have this 100% before the end of your second playthrough. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~The Good, the Bad, and the Grunt (Bronze) "Get rid of 75 Raven Grunts." These are basic enemies, and spawn in every level. They only have one attack, they'll have an exclaimation point above there ahead and lunge toward you. This is when you either counter them (by pressing the analog stick towards them) or you dash away/through them. They come in a beefy flavor in later numbers (or around a blue warlock) that hit hard, faster, and have more health. You just need to be watching your back a bit more. As with every elimination trophy, you'll have no problem getting these without farming and will come natural. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~What magic? (Bronze) (Slice 50 Raven Warlocks in two.) These enemies take about 3 hits to kill, but dart away once you hit them, so using the grapple is a great. These start appearing in almost every fight, I personally let the blue ones live as they help boost your combos. They come in two flavors: Orange Warlocks will be seen early on, then very rarely on later playthroughs, all they do is place an orange ring on the ground that will turn to an explosion. All you need to do is dash out of it, the time you have to react is generous. Blue Warlocks will heal and buff up grunts, they have no attacks by them selves... which is funny, since the game randomly makes enemies, and I've had two with just these. As with every elimination trophy, you'll have no problem getting these without farming and will come natural. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Is it Grunt? In a can? (Bronze) "Show 25 Shield Ravens that the best defense is actually offence." These are exactly like the basic raven once disarmed, and can be buffed by the warlocks as well. The key is getting rid of the shield asap, as they ruin combos. The game tells you to throw other enemies into them... yeah, stop that the second you the shield grab or sheild breaker gem. Another tip? Once you unlock the final sword FU move, at a 20 hit combo, you can instantly kill them, shield or not. As with every elimination trophy, you'll have no problem getting these without farming and will come natural. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Boom to you doom (Bronze) "Help 25 Explosive Ravens do just that." While these ravens can actually attack you, the second you attack them, they blow up in a couple seconds... OR if you attack them again. +Try not to dash next to them, as once you unlock the dash damage, the game will be a scumbag and sometimes target them. +Try not to grab next to them, as sometimes the game will be a scumbag and grab them and then make you take damage. When they appear, I like to say "screw my combo", as getting no damage is usually better. As with every elimination trophy, you'll have no problem getting these without farming and will come natural. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Close your eye (Bronze) "Put 25 Predators to sleep. The eternal kind." These are the floating eyeballs with the yellow field of vision. As long as you aren't in that field, you can kill them in a single hit from the flanks. They don't give exp, or even energy if you equip the energy recover gem, so once you get this trophy, I'd avoid them unless they are in the way. As with every elimination trophy, you'll have no problem getting these without farming and will come natural. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Family jewels (Bronze) "Find your first gem." You have great odds of finding a gem from the Red Chests. Don't stress, you'll have these all maxed out pretty fast, as there is only 21 (and there is a red chest trophy that requires more than 21 opens). I personall use the attack speed up, physical damamge up, and the energy recover... even though I never really needed the last two. The shield breaker gem is a good idea, but stay away from the treasure find gem... a level 3 only gives 3% lol. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~She's no Carmelity (Bronze) "Find out more about Zenobia's behaviour." When you finish the game, look at the story map. Getting any card in the second row will unlock this and the "truth". If you plan on getting all the stories, you'll get this 6 times. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~The Rabbit was the murderer! (Bronze) "Discover Lapino's little secret." When you finish the game, look at the story map. Getting any card in the first row will unlock this and the "truth". If you plan on getting all the stories, you'll get this 5 times. Lipino is a scumbag, fyi. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Kurama in a shiny stone (Bronze) "Follow the Iblis Stone's voice to learn its goal." When you finish the game, look at the story map. Getting any card in the third row will unlock this and the "truth". If you plan on getting all the stories, you'll get this 6 times. The stone is the best NPC in the game! [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~It's like a small Death Star (Bronze) "Find out why the Skyripper was so well hidden." When you finish the game, look at the story map. Getting any card in the fourth row will unlock this and the "truth". If you plan on getting all the stories, you'll get this 7 times. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Explorer (Bronze) Curiosity never killed anyone right? Open your first secondary path." I believe this is for opening a door (besides the green ones). Either way, I got this on my second playthrough, so you won't worry about this one, as you'll have more than a dozen times to choose a second path. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Show me your moves (Bronze) "Achieve a 30 hit combo." There is a trophy called C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker, which requires a 60 hitter, scroll down to there. You should get a 30 hit eventually without really trying. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Get over here! (Bronze) "Bring 50 enemies closer to you." In case you don't get this from normally playing, you can get this by only using your gappling hook. It's fast, long range, and almost auto targets... If you are fighting warlocks, this is a great time to practice this. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~You know nothing Artic Fox! (Bronze) "Get hooked by spending your first skill point." In the practice mission, the game forces you to buy the grapple, so you literally can't miss this. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Spin to win (Bronze) "Roundabouts are fun, but not too much." Spin the left analog stick in circles, and this trophy is yours... silly trophy. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~I'm no rookie! (Silver) "Remember your old talents by spending 15 skil points." If you try to nab every ending the game has to offer, you'll get this way before halfway down. There is a trophy (the last one on the list) which requires you to get them all, scroll down to there for tips for exp grinding (or un-grinding) [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Masamune is for melancholic bad guys (Silver) "Take your sword back to forge to improve it." Simple upgrade a weapon to its max level. With the amount of ores you will get, you will definitely nab this trophy LONG before you complete every ending. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Boreas discoverer (Silver) "Let's see what's out there. Set foot on every island of the Boreas." If you go for every ending, and in order (like I suggest below), you'll get this after your completion of the first chapter once you select the dessert temple. For this trophy, you don't need to open every secondary elemental door, as again, I got this on my first run through the dessert temple. (Even though it doesn't matter, you still should try to find all the paths) [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Bling master (Silver) "Ooooh, shiny! Find a level 3 gem." Collecting the same gem 3 times will automatically upgrade it to level 3, since they are random, you may not get this too soon, or you can. With so many playthroughs in the game, and so many red chests, you'll get this LONG before even the half way point in trying to get all the endings. If by some odd reason you are having trouble finding red chests, remember that you can find one in a single level, then remember to get it again, and again... as some levels will be played through 12+ times easily. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~The Crows and the Fox (Silver) "Pick the feathers off 500 dead Ravens." Simple, just kill enemies. There is no way you really can miss this trophy as the game requires you to kill enemies to move on. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Paleontologist (Silver) "Do "research" on each type of enemy. With your sword." This just means you need to kill one of each enemy. There is a trophy that requires each of enemy to be killed many times... if you plan on getting the platinum, this will be a given. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Is it a sword? Is it a key? (Silver) "Use each sword to open a different door." Around your 4th or 5th playthrough, you should no doubt have at least the first level of every sword... simple use each one on a door. It doesn't have to be in the same level... and the doors aren't exactly hard to find. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Tough cookie (Silver) "Die a maximum of 5 times in a story." This is pretty generous, I've only died on purpose when trying to get the tropy that requires you to do every combat move. Tips? Either do this on your first playthough, or worry about it when you have super strong moves/gems. Using both defense gems, the energy recover gems, and having the green sword's heal ability make this pretty easy (if you are really worried, you can wait a few minutes after each battle and heal to full). If the game is too hard for you as you progress, you can always restart the game (delete your save) and do this on the first playthrough, just make sure you get every other trophy before this. OR you can get the true ending, this allows you to always have that core killing everything for you, so you can effortly kill without even trying. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~C-C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker! (Silver) "Achieve a 60 hit combo." WARNING: Do not buy the last sword Fu skill (yellow color) till you get this! That skill will let you start killing enemies in a single hit once you 30 or 20 hits if you move the analog stick (which you will do!) Also, don't worry about this till you start getting the hang of the game because this is really hard to get early on. Once blue warlocks and beefy enemies start to appear, you can get a lot of combos on them... especailly if you use dash attack through multiple enemies and use gappling hooks to keep the combo up. Also, dash, don't risk blocking. Practice perfect strikes as well, they had 3x the hits! And lastly, if you really want to get this out of the way, do this on a later playthrough on the first chapter of either the Lupino or Temple banches... both start off with decent and big fights, so dying won't set you back anything. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Old fox new tricks (Silver) "Use every trick in the book during a combat encounter." This is probably the most annoying trophy in the game, because of the grabs! Any ways, don't playthough the game stressing about this, as if you do, you are going to lose a bunch of perfect scores and just annoy yourself. So the first this to do is wait a bit, and when you start a new playthrough on the Lupino or Temple path, keep trying this on the first fight (the exact location as listed above). You'll need... +Grapple an enemy +Grab and toss an enemy into an enemy +Grab and toss an enemy into a wall (not sure, but do it any ways) +Grab and toss an enemy off a ledge +Grab and hold an enemy and let an enemy hit him +Do a combo on an enemy +Dash through an enemy +Counter an enemy +Use sword magic (everyone does all 4 just to be safe) Start off with the grabs, then the counter, then the rest is easy. I suggest those areas because if you die, nothing is really lost... because trust me, you probably will die... grabbing is so bad in this game, and such a useless "style" mechanic. This is easier with all the health and magic upgrades, as if you die, you start with half of both. Getting all of those is considered "Godlike" in the tally screen. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Running out of pockets (Silver) "Open 50 small chests and find space for all the goodies." Blue small chests are everywhere... you shouldn't have trouble finding 50 in 25+ playthroughs. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Taking care of yourself (Silver) "Be careful and finish a level without taking damage from start to finish, after obtaining the book." "after obtaining the book" that means the practice stage doesn't count (and I thought it did :( ) Pick the first choice (Lupino), this level has few ravens. Here are some tips: Before you get the dash, remember it takes 4 attacks to kill a raven, and can interupt attacks. This should only happen in the first fight, I believe, so you might need to get down and dirty and block. That's the hard part, once you get the dash, now just play the spacing game, dash away instead of block, and use the grapple to single them out. If you see an exclaimation point, drop everything you are doing and DASH! This trophy gets harder as you go into the game, with faster ravens, longer levels, and suicide birds... so if you miss your chance early on, and find it too hard later, wait till this is the last trophy you need to unlock, then delete your save file to get it on a fresh run. With everything you learned through out the game, you'll laugh at how easy the basic enemies are! OR you can get the true ending, this allows you to always have that core killing everything for you, so you can effortly kill without even trying. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Unreal treasures (Silver) "Look for fabulous treasures in 25 epic chests." You almost always get an epic chest after taking a secondary path using the Fire, Ice, or Vorpal swords on doors... you'll get this long before you finish your 25+ playthroughs. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Bookworm (Gold) "You have discovered all intel the book could show you." Before I get started on the road maps, a few things. +Go in order (the way I do it), as you only need to skip a single story arc (as it gets you killed and doesn't count). There is another path, a 3rd chioce in the temple path, that I never picked... again, if you go in order, you'll never have to worry about it. The death path that should be skipped is marked XX. +Use a pencil and paper, like did, as although the game gives you a yellow caution sign for a path you didn't take, it doesn't give one for a path you didn't take AFTER a path you took already. +Take note of endings that reward you with a full level. If you get to the end of these levels, quit to the main menu. You'll have to play over again, but getting 25,000 to 30,000 exp is sweet! Getting the free level when you need a fight or two, isn't sweet. Those ones will be marked with a "LVL" mark at the end. +I didn't list garbage rewards, like ores, as you'll have WAY more than you need and shouldn't rely on them to max out your weapons. +You can skip movies by pressing circle, but not the voice overs when it will display choices. +The game changes the names of the choices when you learn "truths" so if they differ radically from my names, just go by 1, 2, or 3. They are also heavily shortened. #5--Res Lup(1)->PayCal Zeno(1)->Geese/Nets(1)->Skip the Base(1) #10-Res Lup(1)->PayCal Zeno(1)->Geese/Nets(1)->Rebel Base(2) #XX-Res Lup(1)->PayCal Zeno(1)->Not the Time(2)->Win Her <3(1) #11-R. Very easy to max out all weapons by the end of your many many playthoughs. Just remember, once you do, chests will only drop health items, and no more magic items for some reason... so if you like using magic, you can save this for the end of your adventure. Do note, the purple and orange sword's magic aren't really needed, as the blue sword can freeze enemies, then they die in a single hit. As magic uses up fast and the damage on the actual swords don't increase, there is no rush. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~True Hero (Gold) "Make all the right choices." After you unlock all four truths, you'll see a key under the first choice when starting a new game... take these paths (again, they may be shorten like above, but you can just refer to the 1, 2, or 3) You Can't Make New old Friends(1) then Renoldo Could use that(1) then Send Lupido to Core(2)* then Send Lupino for Stone(2)* then Trust Zenobia(1) then Stop her and the Iblis Stone(2) *I forget if the stone was first... doesn't matter, just make sure to send that scumbag rabbit for both items. Doing this final true story will unlock some new goodies, so if you want to play easy mode, you can! [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ~Sword Fu Master (Gold) "Once all knowledge you have, rewarded you will be." This requires you to buy every skill... if you can get a level per play through like I just about did, you shouldn't need to grind this too much after. Remember to look above to the book worm section, so when you are on a path that leads to a level up, do it after getting a level via quiting to the main menu if you need to. I only needed 3 levels after I got the true ending, and I didn't know which endings had level ups. Also, getting all the truths gives TWO levels, so remember that.
