Well battlefield has so many you'll be tripping over them left and right. Take your time and look through the catalog, I'm sure there is something that will catch your eye. All of the weapons listed below appear in Multi-player, however some of them do not appear in Single-player. They are organized in a list like so: Legend: --- Name: Name of the weapon Type: What kind of weapon it is. Kit: What kit it can be found in (Multi-player) Damage: Very low-Maxed Accuracy:Very low-Maxed Handling: Very low-Maxed Rate of Fire: Very low-Maxed Rarity: How rare is it to find in Single-player. Starters are the defaults weapons of Multi-player. [See Note 2 Below] Golds are weapons that are unlocked when you hit level 25, or if you bought the Gold Edition of BF:BC. FAFs are unlocked by special circumstances. But they can also be unlocked by using “Redeem codes.” See each weapons Muli-player note's for details. Credit weapons are unlocked by using credits. Credits are obtained by leveling up. Note 2: All “starting” weapons can only be used when you are on the same side as their affiliation. For example: if you are on the Russian side, then your starting assault rifle is the AEK971. If you are on the USA side, then your starting assault rifle is the M416. If you are a Russian you cannot use the M416 and vice versa. There is no difference between the two except in rare cases when they're weapon types are different. Note 3: Weapons with suppressors (“Silencers” is an incorrect term) are extra stealthy. When shot with a suppressed weapon, the directional damage indicator does not show up. --- Name: AEK971 Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: medium Accuracy: high Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium Rarity: Common Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: You can't go 2 feet without tripping over one of these. It's not a bad rifle but it's not a really good one either. Chances are theres a better weapon laying around but it works in a pinch if you suddenly run out of ammo mid-fight. One good thing about it is that you never have to worry about ammo. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: RUS. The AEK971 is basically the AK47 you've come to love in other shooters, but watered down. It's not bad, it's just generic. If you want a rifle similar to the real AK47 then you have to look at the AN94. In the mean time, this gun will hold you over till you hit level 25. When shot from the shoulder, the sights are easy to use, but may annoy some players. It's accuracy is high but it's stopping power isn't as good as what you'd expect from an assault rifle. All and all, a nice starting weapon. --- --- Name: M416 Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: medium Accuracy: high Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium Rarity: Common (You start almost every level with it) Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: You start with this weapon in all levels. It gets the job done but drop it for a better weapon asap. Some people love it and use it throughout the game. I usually hold on to it till I find a nice collectible, but not a second later. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: USA. Same stats as the AEK, not really much different except for the sights. I prefer this weapon out of the three staring assault weapons. Treat it just like the AEK and you'll be fine. --- --- Name: AUG Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: medium Accuracy: high Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium Rarity: Rare Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: One of the many collectibles you'll find. Multi-Player notes: *Credit to: Samehadamaru * Starting weapon affiliation: MEC. Yet again, it has the same stats as the other two starting assault rifles. Just treat it like a AEK or a M416 and you'll be fine. I kinda like this one better then the other two, I guess I have a thing for bull-pups. --- --- Name: AN94 Abakan Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: low-medium Accuracy: high Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium-high Rarity: Uncommon Online: Gold My Rating (SP): ***** My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: Ahhh.. the Abakan! One of my favorite weapons in the game. It's sights are so easy to use and drops them mercenaries like nobody's business! Its basically a super sized version of the AEK971 and you treat the about the same. The AN94 however is a lot more accurate then its cousin, allowing you to snipe with it. It has a lot less damage but has a faster firing rate that makes up for it. All and all, a great weapon! Multi-Player notes: See Single player notes. No really, I'm serious. I love this rifle. It's single handedly my favorite weapon in the game. Some people complain about the sights but I don't see why they have a problem. I would argue that it's harder to see through the M16 sights but whatever. I noticed that experienced assault players will ether pick the AN94 or the M16 as their favorite rifle. It comes down to whether you prefer stopping power or rate of fire. --- --- Name: FN F2000 Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault Damage: low Accuracy: medium Handling: high Rate of Fire: high Rarity: N/A Online: FAF My Rating (SP): N/A My Rating (MP): ***** Single Player notes: This weapon is not available in Single player. Multi-Player notes: You can only acquire this weapon through the veterans program at Bad Company's website. And if you are an assault player like me, it's worth the aggravation to get it. It's rate of fire is the highest of all the rifles (what else do you expect from FN?) and can drop enemies in a flash of bullets. The only problem with this gun is that you piss through ammo like crazy. I find myself reloading after every other kill and all that reloading can get you in trouble sometimes... This is the only weapon that dosen't have a redeem code. --- --- Name: M16A3 Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: medium-high Accuracy: high Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium Rarity: Uncommon Online: Credit My Rating (SP): ***** My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: Accurate, Powerful, all around good gun, the M16. The iconic “Good Guy” gun of the US army. Very useful in single player, if you find it, it can usually last you the whole level. It's a hundred times better then the starting M416. If you see one; grab it! Multi-Player notes: The M16, the iconic, staple weapon of the US army. High Accuracy and great stopping power make this gun beyond lethal on the battlefield and many assault players will quickly unlock it and make it their standard issue weapon. The gun is no doubt great but I never really liked using it. I prefer the AN for the rate-of-fire and handling but it's completely up to you to decide which one better suites your playing style. --- --- Name: XM8 Type: Assault Rifle Kit: Assault kit Damage: low Accuracy: medium-high Handling: medium-high Rate of Fire: high Rarity: Uncommon Online: Credit My Rating (SP): **** My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: An assault rife just a step above average. I wanted to love this gun, I really did. I'm a fan of it in real life and would love to have been able to play with it throughout the game. But sadly it's only in the hands of the mercenaries and is a step above average. While it is a good gun with good handling, accuracy and firing rate; It just takes too long to kill sometimes. It's a more rounded out version of the AN94 but the greater handling doesn't really come into play that much, so the lowered damage for better handling seems like a odd trade off. It's still a great weapon even with these shortcomings though. Multi-Player notes: As much of a fan I am of this gun in real life, I just can find myself using it in multi. It looks good on paper, but whenever I use it in the field I feel like I'm at a disadvantage. Some people love it for it's fairly balanced stats and sight, like the others above, it's all really comes down to preference. --- --- Name: S20K Type: Semi-auto Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: medium Accuracy: low Handling: low Rate of Fire: low Rarity: Common Online: Starter My Rating (SP): * My Rating (MP): ** Single Player notes: the default shotgun found every where. Like the AEK, you can't go two feet without tripping over one. It's a semi auto shotgun that, short of a head shot, takes several rounds to drop an opponent. While it works well in medium range you'd be better off with an assault rife. And at close range you be better off with a pump shotgun. When it takes several shells to drop and there is multiple combatants, it's more of a handicap then a help. Don't pick it up unless you run out of ammo, and even then I would rather use my knife. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: RUS. This shotgun is great if you want a Semi-auto and you don't have the SPAS15. Its damage is pretty good and it usually takes 2-3 shots to kill someone at close range. This gun does allow you to take further shots than most pump shotguns at the cost of your ammo. Even though you can try not to be trigger happy with this gun as you'll find yourself reloading every 10 seconds. --- --- Name: 870MCS Type: Pump Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: High Accuracy: low Handling: medium Rate of Fire: low Rarity: Uncommon Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: Classic example of a pump shotgun. At close range this thing tears through the opposition. One on One close quarters is where it really shines as you can be easily overwhelmed with multi hostiles. At medium range you have to rely on your grenades as it can take multiple shells to take down an opponent. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: USA. This shotgun is pretty decent for a pump action shotgun all up until you get either the NS2000 or the SPAS12, but it doesn't have the same accuracy so don't expect to pull off those Medium-long range shots. If you do happen to run into someone at a long range try your best to lure them into a closer position. This shotgun is great for close quarter combat just make sure you actually hit them because if you miss your shot your pretty much screwed. --- --- Name: T194 Type: Pump Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: High Accuracy: low Handling: medium Rate of Fire: low Rarity: Rare Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: This Shotgun is only found in the last level. (See 870MCS) --- --- Name: SPAS 15 Type: Semi-Auto Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: medium Accuracy: very low Handling: low Rate of Fire: low Rarity: Rare Online: Gold My Rating (SP): **** My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: This is like a high-tech version of the S20K. But it's good. Really good. Good cluster, range and power makes this a breeze to use at close to medium. Sure it may take an extra shot to drop at times but it more then makes up for it in firing rate. Pick this one up today! Multi-Player notes: *Credit to: Samehadamaru * All in all a great overall gun if you don't like the slowness of the pump but you also don't like the damage of the USAS12. This gun allows you to handle more people at a time but you still have to remember that you only have 8 shells to shoot off so like the other semi-auto don't spas out (Haha like the gun's name right?....). You can take longer distant shots but its not always guaranteed that they'll connect, so don't try going for long distance shots all the time and instead try to lure them in as you would with a pump action. --- --- Name: USAS 12 Type: Full-Auto Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: medium Accuracy: low Handling:low Rate of Fire: low Rarity: N/A Online: FAF My Rating (SP): N/A My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: This weapon is not available in Single player. Multi-Player notes: God help us all, a fully automatic shotgun. You would think this weapon would be broken as hell but it's not. It takes about three shells to drop someone and in close quarters an UZI would win hands down. The thing that makes this shotgun so good even though it does pathetic damage as a shotgun is that it can accurately shoot at medium range. You basically treat it like an assault rife. It reloads with a clip and fires automatically with no “cocking” unless you reload the clip. It's one of my personal favorites. Redeem Code: aw3somef1rep0wer --- --- Name: SPAS 12 Type: Pump Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: High Accuracy: very low Handling: medium Rate of Fire: very low Rarity: Rare Online: Credit My Rating (SP): **** My Rating (MP): ***** Single Player notes: The reason I gave this a 4/5 in single but a 5/5 in multi-player is because of it's spread. In multi-player, high spread in a shotgun can help take down enemies easier because of the higher area you can cover with your shots. You can effectively “blanket” a hallway full of enemies with a single shot. In Single-player, the enemies are too spread out for this to be taken full advantage of. It's still an awesome gun, but the NS2000's cluster is more useful in Single-player, which is why it got the 5/5 rating. Multi-Player notes: Quite defiantly one of the best shotguns in the game next to the USAS 12. you treat it like any other pump, but for some reason, I just kill better with it. It's a one-shot-kill at close to medium range and has enough cluster to be used at range and enough spread so that if you miss you can still do a huge amount of damage. That was the problem with the NS2000 is that it was TOO accurate and grouped. --- --- Name: NS2000 Type: Pump Shotgun Kit: Demo kit Damage: Very High Accuracy: low-medium Handling: low Rate of Fire: low Rarity: Uncommon Online: Credit My Rating (SP): ***** My Rating (MP): ***** Single Player notes: NS2000 is the best shotgun for single-player but is not for Multi-player. For my reason why (See SPAS12). Multi-Player notes: This is the sniper rife of shotguns. I'm serious. The extremely tight cluster, high accuracy, medium range reach and still has one-hit-kill stopping power makes the NS2000 like a sniper of shottys. The only drawback to this gun is that if you miss, you are done. And it's very easy to miss with this gun because its TOO accurate for it's own good. Master the range and the timing and this should be one of your bread and butter weapons of online. --- --- Name: SV98 Type: Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Kit: Recon. kit Damage: Very High Accuracy: Very High Handling: very low Rate of Fire: very low Rarity: Common Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: In single player, just about all sniper rifles are One-shot-kills. So it really doesn't matter if you pick the SV98, M24 or GOL. They all have the same stats, the only difference is their looks. Any will do. You will ether hate or love sniping in BF:BC, but I find that sniping makes the single player campaign too easy as you can pick them off from a mile away with one-shots. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: RUS. This is your Standard bolt action sniper rifle. One shot does 90 damage anywhere on the body. A head shot is instant kill. With that in mind, always aim for the head unless they have been spotted, which usually indicates that they are wounded. If you are wounded, 90 damage should be more then enough to finish you off. Also make sure you lead your shots far in advance for long distance shoots. Bullet travel time in this game is huge. You may need to lead your shots by two or three, hell I even had to lead by five or six seconds on extremely distant shots! --- --- Name: M24 Type: Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Kit: Recon. kit Damage: Very High Accuracy: very high Handling: very low Rate of Fire: Very low Rarity: Rare Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: (See SV98) Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: USA. It's not that much different from using a bolt except that you can shoot faster and that you can now take on multiple hostiles at once. Just watch your ammo, you can run out fast! Multi-Player notes: Next to the M95, this is my favorite sniper rifle. It's semi-auto that can go full auto if you hold down the trigger. It does low damage, only about 30 damage a shot, but if you can land two or three solid chest shots, you can take people down in a breeze. It also is the best sniper rifle to shoot from the hip. I don't recommend it, but if your in a tight spot and get jumped at close range. Instead of scoping I just shoot them from the hip and kill them like that. It's easy once you get the hang of it, try it! --- --- Name: QBU88 Type: Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle Kit: Recon. kit Damage: High Accuracy: Very High Handling: low Rate of Fire: low Rarity: N/A Online: FAF My Rating (SP): N/A My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: This weapon is not available in Single player. Multi-Player notes: If you cross a M95 and a VSS and subtract the suppressor , you would probably get something close to this gun. The weird thing is, is that I really don't like to use this gun much. If I want powerful one-shot-kills I use the M95. If I want stealthy medium range firefighting, I use the VSS. So I don't know why you would use the QBU88 at all. Some people love it and tell me it's amazing, but it's just... “ehh...” for me. Which honestly doesn't really make a difference at all in single player. It's just a beefed up version of the VSS so treat it the same and you'll be fine. Multi-Player notes: In a nutshell it's a more powerful version of the VSS, with less handling. It's really up to you which one you like better. I prefer the VSS though. --- --- Name: Barret M95 Type: Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Kit: Recon. kit Damage: Maxed Accuracy: Maxed Handling: very low Rate of Fire: very low Rarity: Uncommon Online: Credit My Rating (SP): ***** My Rating (MP): ***** Single Player notes: The big daddy of sniper rifles, the .50 cal! Strangely common on the battlefield but I'm not complaining. The thing is though, it kinda doesn't matter if you use this or any other Bolt action. Because they generally all kill in one hit. The only thing that makes the M95 better is that it's SLIGHTLY more accurate and has better zoom and range. One a side note, it is the only gun with “Damage” maxed out. Multi-Player notes: A little more powerful and accurate then the average Bolt-action. Most powerful weapon in the game. Just fires slower then death... I almost never miss with this gun but when I do it takes so long to line back up that my target is gone. Just be a little more careful with your shots and you'll soon find out why veteran snipers love this gun. --- --- Name: 9A91 Type: Compact Assault Rifle w/ suppressor Kit: Specialist kit Damage: low-medium Accuracy: low Handling: very High Rate of Fire: very High Rarity: Rare Online: Starter My Rating (SP): *** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: Even though it has the same exact stats as the SCAR, it feels like the 9A91 has better range. While that doesn't really make it that much better then the SCAR or AKS74U, I definitively prefer it over the other two. It's only found in the last level so keep it for chuck it for the final battle, your choice. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: RUS. Honestly, I never really liked or used the default Specialist weapons. However, some people love these weapons and use them all the time. Compact Assault Rifles are interesting. They behave much like SMGs. They have a high firring rate with low damage. I think they over did it however because they can take down assault users before they can blink, shotty users as well. The only thing bad with them is that they fly through ammo and are horrid at medium range combat. --- --- Name: SCAR Type: Compact Assault Rifle w/ suppressor Kit: Specialist kit Damage: low-medium Accuracy: low Handling: very High Rate of Fire: very High Rarity: Uncommon Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: A decent rifle and comes with a suppressor. Defiantly helps with infiltration sections but not very good for open combat. It has good stats and the rate of fire is great but it doesn't have a lot of ammo and the range is poor. These short comings keep me from wanting to hold on to it longer then needed. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: USA. Good for closer range indoors, bad at longer range outdoors. Um... not much else to say... It's the XM8 with faster firing rate and shorter range. If you like it, use it. Multi-Player notes: This weapon is the Compact Version of the XM8. See my complaints for the XM8. It's not a bad gun, I know a lot of players that do very well with it, I just can't use it myself for some reason. Unlike the XM8 though, XM8C leans a little more to the high ROF with lower stopping power. --- --- Name: UZI Type: Sub-machine Gun w/ suppressor Kit: Specialist kit Damage: medium Accuracy: very low Handling: Maxed Rate of Fire: Very High Rarity: N/A Online: FAF My Rating (SP): N/A My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: This weapon is not available in Single player. It's superior stats rip though the opposition in single player. Not that that is hard considering the majority of your enemy forces consists of weaklings using the AEK. But it's a solid weapon none-the-less. If you find one, it would be a crime not to use it. Multi-Player notes: At the end of the day, when it's all said and done. I find the majority of specialists using the UMP. And it's not hard to see why; Good damage, accuracy, handling, rate-of-fire and solid range. The more you look at it, the UMP has it all, and not only does it look good on paper, it's also good in practice. The UMP seems to be a crowd favorite but personally, I prefer the PP2000. --- --- Name: PP2000 Type: Sub-machine Gun w/ suppressor Kit: Specialist kit Damage: low Accuracy: very low Handling: High Rate of Fire: Maxed Rarity: Rare Online: Credit My Rating (SP): ***** My Rating (MP): ***** Single Player notes: (vv-See notes below-vv) Multi-Player notes: This is my baby. The only other weapon in the game with a stat that is “Maxed”. The bullet hose as I call it because it just spits bullets out at an ungodly rate. Don't let it's low damage and accuracy fool you, this thing is deadly. The shear volume of bullets it spits more then makes up for it's damage. And as for the accuracy? Well, if you tap the trigger so that you only shoot 10 bullets at a time, you can snipe with it. The only problem I can see with using this gun is the large amounts of ammo it uses up and the fact that you will be reloading every five seconds. But if you can get used to that and shoot only when needed, you can get 4 or more kills per clip. If you aren't already hooked on the UMP, try this bad boy out for size; you might love it as much as I do! --- --- Name: PKM Type: Machine Gun Kit: Support kit Damage: medium Accuracy: low Handling: medium Rate of Fire: medium Rarity: Common Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): *** Single Player notes: Run-of-the-Mill LMG. It can lay down quite a bit of suppression fire. Try lightly swaying the barrel from side to side as you will need to blanket the area you wish to attack. It's poor accuracy means that you will have a hard time taking out long distance targets and it doesn't have enough firepower to stand up against shotgunners at close range. Stick to Medium range suppersion and you'll do fine. Multi-Player notes: Starting weapon affiliation: RUS. All the Default LMGs have the same stats as this one. And you treat them much the same way as you would in single player. It takes the longest time to kill any player with a default LMG. This is because it's low Damage and low Firing rate. Now you might be wondering, Don't LMGs in real life have very high Damage and Firing rates? Well, yes they do. But for the sake of balancing the game play, the LMGs of this game have much lower stats. You will find no trouble however, making kills with them. You just need to set up your attacks better. It has a pretty good rate of fire and much better handling then most LMGs. It's like a slower more powerful version of the MG3. Some players love it, but I would rather then MG3 myself. Multi-Player notes: (^^See notes above^^) --- --- Name: MG36 Type: Light Machine Gun Kit: Support kit Damage: low Accuracy: medium-high Handling: low Rate of Fire: medium-high Rarity: Uncommon Online: Credit My Rating (SP): **** My Rating (MP): **** Single Player notes: (vv-See notes below-vv) Multi-Player notes: Much like how the NS2000 is the sniper rifle of shotguns. The MG36 is the sniper rifle of LMGs. It has stats very similar to that of the XM8LMG except for the lower handling. But it has of the the best sights in the game. A Reflexive Gun-sight mounted on the barrel makes shooting at long range targets ridiculously easy. To the point that a few people use it over a sniper rifle. It's one of the best LMGs, but it's low damage can be a problem at close range. This or the M60 is usually everyones main choice in MGs. --- --- Name: M203/GP30/XM320 Type: Grenade Launcher Kit: Assault Damage: low-medium Accuracy: medium Handling: medium Rate of Fire: low Rarity: N/A Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): ** additional notes: comes with all assault rifles. M203 => (M416, AUG, M16) GP30 => (AEK971, AN94) XM320 => (XM8,FN2000) Not very good at attacking, as it does very little damage. It is great for “opening doors”, getting into buildings, and destroying enemy cover. There is no difference between the Grenade launchers except their names. --- --- Name: M136/RPG7/M2CG Type: Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher Kit: Demolition Damage: medium-high Accuracy: high Handling: low Rate of Fire: very low Rarity: N/A Online: Starter My Rating (SP): ** My Rating (MP): *** additional notes: Just like Starter weapons, which side you start as determines your RL. The only difference between them is the reload animation. M136 => USA RPG7 => RUS M2CG => MEC These HAVE to be the most accurate RLs in a FPS I have ever seen! For god's sake, you can go around sniping people at long range with them and make head-shots! You would think that would make them broken right? Well... no. Because they have shaped charges meant for Anti-Armor combat, their splash damage is REALLY LOW. In order to kill a foot solider with a rocket you would need to physically hit their body. Yeah... Well for Anti-vehicle, they do their job well. Lightly armored vehicles are destroyed in one hit. Tanks can take two to four or five shots depending where you hit them. Always aim for the Rear of a tank for maximum damage; the armor is less dense there. --- +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ | Legal/copyright information | +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ This guide is published by Scott Sawyer.
