Section [E.4] Legal & Credits =================== [0.0] Introduction =================== Hello, Everyone. My designation is Violet Shadow and this is my second video game guide. Some may remember my guide for Ghost Rider. Anyway, This is a guide for a great PS3 Action game. This guide is meant for personal use only. This ends the introductory section of this guide. Continue on. ================== [A.0] Characters ================== A.a- Minamoto no Yoshitsune Famed hero of the late Heian period in Japan and star of the Heike Monogatari. Yoshitsune is the main character of Genji who wields dual katana, one in either hand. His fighting-style encompasses speed and agility in a graceful display of swordsmanship. Special Notes on Yoshitsune 1. Yoshitsune is a balanced character, but also has the quickest movement, as well as the second-quickest attack-speed and evasion. 2. His attacks are also the best-looking attacks in the game. 3. Yoshitsune's Wall-Run attacks seem pretty useless in actual combat during the game. But, They 'do' look cool. A.b- Saito Musashibo Benkei Yoshitsune's loyal friend and self-appointed protector, most famous for his 'Standing Death'. In Genji, Benkei is a huge man with a giant club that swats most enemies like flies. Obviously, The brawn of the Genji group, Benkei uses slow yet powerful swings to decimate foes. Special Notes on Benkei 1. Benkei is, unfortunately, unable to perform combos in Days of the Blade. 2. Benkei also lost his naginata weapons from the first game. Despite this, The game's manual still lists that he can use the naginata and switch between it and his club "freely" during combat. This is greatly misleading. 3. For some reason, the game's developers chose not to include 'Saito' in Benkei's name. Hm... A.c- Gozen Shizuka In most stories of the events depicted in Genji, Shizuka was Yoshitsune's lover. In Genji, Shizuka uses a 'chain- blade'-type of weapon and fights mostly with wide, long- ranged sweeping attacks. Special Notes on Shizuka 1. Despite being suspected to be the 'fast' character of the group, Shizuka is actually slower in all ways than Yoshitsune. 2. Shizuka does, however, have the highest jump(just slightly moreso than Yoshitsune). 3. In the game, Shizuka's relationship with Yoshitsune is left mostly to interpretation. A.d-Buson Not originating from the Heike Monogatari, or any other work of Japanese History or Legend, Buson is an original character created for the Genji storyline. He is a god that descends to earth and assumes the body of Taira no Kagekiyo; thus, he utilizes Kagekiyo's weapon and fighting style. Special Notes on Buson 1. Contrarily to popular belief, Buson is actually a great character and very fun to use. 2. Buson has the quickest attack-speed of all the characters, as well as the longest attack-strings. 3. Make no mistake, Buson is a bit difficult to get used to playing. 4. Buson possesses the quickest evasion speed of the four playable characters. =============== [B.2] Weapons =============== B.a Yoshitsune's Weapons 1. Also, I personally left the Tutorials turned on in the settings; in fact, the only setting I turned off was the Motion Sensor setting that allows you to activate the evasive movements in the game with a quick jerk of the remote. Also, If anyone using this guide finds(or has found) ANY Essences of Amahagane that you can't find mentioned within this guide, e-mail me with the location(s) and I will add them to the guide(if I can confirm their location), as well as give credit to the finder. That being said, let's begin. ============================ Watch the opening cutscenes that tell the events of the first Genji and introduce this game. !*Begin Chapter 1*! !Conflagration at Suzaku Gate! Pursue the Heishi through the fires at Suzaku Gate. Items: Kurama Herb x4 Essences of Amahagane: 4 Once you gain control of Yoshitsune, you'll have the chance to try out the gameplay system. Anyway, Move forward and you'll have to fight off a group of Heishi warriors. They're easy, but I suggest you try to learn the game's counter-attack system. The system returns from the first game; in order to execute a Genji-Counter(my own name for the system), you must wait for a certain point during an enemy's attack animation and then press the Square or Triangle button at that moment to avoid the enemy's attack and deal out a lot of damage(one-hit killing most enemies, if your character's attack power is high enough). The thing is, EVERY single different attack in the game has a different timing; some are quite easy to get the timing for, while others are nigh-impossible. Back to the Walkthrough! After defeating the enemies, a chest will appear. Before getting it, go up the steps and break the pots to your right, in the corner, for a Kurama Herb. After that, Open the chest and you'll get Yoshitsune's second weapon: Bishamon. More enemies appear, so defeat them quickly. Try out Bishamon if you want. Go through the doorway and run up toward the Tamayori Sigil, but duck into the fiery room to your right just before it and break a pot to grab a second Kurama Herb, then use the Sigil to heal up and save your game. Now, Head through the door opposite the one that held the Kurama Herb. Head along the path, avoiding the falling debris, until you can go right(north on the mini-map) into the battlefield. Fight off the Heishi samurai and then head to the right wall(east on the mini-map) and use Yoshitsune's Double-Jump to get on top of the wall, then head into the lower corner to find the *1st* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head back to the Tamayori Sigil, if need be, then continue up the straightforward path a little to fight some more Heishi warriors. First, though, approach the first right-side torch and slash for a *2nd* Essence of Amahagane. Then, Head up further for the Kamui system to be introduced and made available. Do the mini-game, then continue forward to be introduced to the most basic and annoying enemy of the Genji game world: Archers(!). You'll wanna get up there and take the highground ones out, as well as the ground-level ones, then engage the other enemies. On top of a torch on the left-hand side of the area is a *3rd* Essence of Amahagane, so be sure to collect it. After the enemies have been obliterated, destroy the pots on the left side before heading up for another Kurama Herb. The boxes on the right-hand side also contain a Kurama Herb, so get both. Approach the doors to get a scene and a fight with Heishi Spearmen, as well as other enemies. Once they're all defeated, the barrier lowers. Check the bushes to the right side of the stairs to find your *4th* Essence of Amahagane. I suggest upgrading Yoshitsune's Vitality, but it's up to you. Now, Go up the stairs and examine the glowing circle to discover that it's a Masho Ward and it blocks you from advancing. End of Yoshitsune's first-run(game introductory tutorial). !Benkei's Imposition! Benkei is late in reaching the Imperial Palace. Help him join up with Yoshitsune. Items: Kurama Herb x2, Tengu Herb x1, Vajra Crest x1, Loving Crest x1, Roaring Crest x1 Essences of Amahagane: 4 We're now controlling Benkei. The big guy is, in this game, pretty well a true 'one-hit wonder'. Get used to his lack of combos. Save your game at the Tamayori Sigil, then approach the barricade to get a one-up on Benkei's destructive power. After shattering the obstacle, proceed forward for an almost amusing scene, followed by the appearance of Heishi warriors. Time to wipe the floor, Benkei-style! After that easy battle, head down the path opposite the door that just won't open. Approach the wagon to get another tip on Benkei: the Benkei Kick. This will come in handy shortly, but for now just continue onward. More Heishi warriors will appear from the other side of the bridge, so eliminate them with extreme prejuidice. After defeating them all, a chest appears. First, Go across the bridge and break the pots on your left(south on the mini-map) for a Kurama Herb, then grab the chest for Key Item: Scarlet Clefstone. The barrier falls, so head forward or go back to the Tamayori Sigil to heal if you need to. When you near the approach to the sealed door, the seal will be broken and you'll now have two characters that you can freely switch between using the D-Pad. More enemies appear, so use whichever character you prefer to eliminate them. On the left(south on mini-map) side of the area, break a pot for a Ghost Water. Go up the steps and approch the torch on the right(north on mini-map) side of the door and slash for a *5th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head through the door that was previously sealed to return to Suzaku Gate(where you were controlling Yoshitsune) and head all the way south(ignoring or killing the enemies that appear); head up the short stairs but don't go east(on the mini-map) where the Tamayori Sigil is; instead, head into the southwest(on the mini-map) room and break down some barricades with Benkei, then break some boxes to reveal two chests containing: a Tengu Herb in the left(south on the mini-map) one and a Vajra Crest in the right(north on the mini-map) one. You can now head east(on the mini-map) to use the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save, then head back north(on the mini-map) and go through the door to get back to the Alleyway where your characters met up. Head back across the bridge, more enemies appear so take them out if you want. Use Benkei to kick the wagon twice toward the bridge, then switch to Yoshitsune and climb atop it; from here, switch to Benkei, then jump toward the right(north on the mini-map) wall and use his Tectonic Crash(Square while jumping) to discover the *6th* Essence of Amahagane(this may take more than one try). Now, Jump down and use Benkei's Kick to push the wagon in the direction of the damaged door from before. Once at the door, switch to Yoshitsune for a one-up on his abilities, then visit the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save. Return to the wagon and use Yoshitsune to make it over the wall to continue. Once over the door, You can't return to the other side, so be sure you've gotten all the mentioned items. Continue forward a step or two to be attacked by more Heishi warriors. Eliminate with style. At the first chance, head down to your character's right(south on the mini-map) and eliminate the two archers, then go a little further and break the boxes for another Kurama Herb. Then eliminate the enemies around you. Continue to the four-way intersection for a scene and more enemies. First, Approach the torch in the north-east corner of the big square area you're in and slash for your *7th* Essence of Amahagane. Once the enemies are defeated, the barriers drop so you can proceed. Head east and examine the Masho ward to receive a hint on their purpose and how to remove them(not that you don't already know). Take the left(north on mini-map) alleyway and destroy a blockade with Benkei. At the end of the alleyway is a chest with a Loving Crest and some pots on the right to break for a Roaring Crest. Head back and continue east(on the mini-map) to the Royal Hall(Exterior) to find a sealed doorway and a Tamayori Sigil, so heal and save, then return to the four-way intersection and head north through the open door to the Treasure Vaults. Upon entering, barriers appear and you'll have to fight more Heishi warriors(including Spearman, which I hate). Eliminate all the enemies. Afterward, A chest will appear, so open it to obtain Key Item: Cerulean Clefstone. Return to the Tamayori Sigil near at the Royal Hall(Exterior), then use the Cerulean Clefstone on the Masho ward. A cutscene will play and you'll have to fight a new type of enemy: Masho Heishi warriors. These guys are great as they're only slightly harder than the regular Heishi warriors, but they drop Mashogane that can be used to upgrade your characters' weapons! Before fighting them, however, head to the south-west(on the mini-map) corner and slash for the *8th* Essence of Amahagane. You'll get a hint on the Mashogane after the enemies are dealt with and a chest appears, so open it to receive Benkei's weapon: Deva Club. Character-change time! !Shizuka's Dance! Defeat the Heishi warriors who have infiltrated the Royal Hall. Items: Kurama Herb x3, Celestial Light x2, Tengu Herb x1, Exuberant Crest x1 Essences of Amahagane: 4 Time to control Shizuka! You'll start with getting a tip on how to use this new (playable) character. One tip: Be VERY CAREFUL while playing as Shizuka, at least until you can upgrade her vitality some, because she can die very easily. Anyway, Use her wide sweeping attacks and the Genji-counter to eliminate the Heishi you're faced with. To the upper-left are some boxes to break for another Kurama Herb. After you've dealt with these enemies, head up the stairs to your left(south on the mini-map) onto the raised section and immediately down the stairs across from them to fight more Heishi warriors. Examine the corpse of the Genji warrior for the Key Item: Key to the Royal Hall. Break some crates along the west(on the mini-map) wall for another Kurama Herb. After the last enemy on this side falls, a chest will appear on the raised section in the center, so go open it to receive Shizuka's weapon: Dancing Girl. The barrier disperses so you can continue. Continue on for another cutscene that will end with you on the other side of a gap. Head east(on the mini-map) to the Tamayori Sigil to heal up and save your game. Head back to the west(on the mini-map) a bit to notice a glow where a bridge apparently used to be, so drop down and slash around to get your *9th* Essence of Amahagane. I suggest upgrading Shizuka's health now, but that's up to you. Now, While still down here, head east(on the mini-map) to find a chest to the south(on the mini-map). Open the chest for a Celestial Light(Kamui-recharge!). Be careful not to waste these somewhat rare and useful items. Head back to the broken bridge and use the left(south on the mini-map) side to climb back up, then head east(on the mini-map) and slash the torch for a *10th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Go back to the west(on the mini-map) side and use Shizuka's gap-crossing ability to cross the gap back to the side with the Tamayori Sigil and use it to save your game. Approach the gap on the eastern(on the mini-map) wall, near the Sigil, and you'll get the second tip on Shizuka's abilities: grappling across gaps. Anyway, Head west a bit from the Sigil and go north towards a large door for a scene to introduce a new form of Masho ward. Turn around and destroy the Masho Flower behind Shizuka, then head down the stairs to either side of the Masho warded door and defeat the enemies there, then do the same on the other side. The east(on the mini-map) side possesses Masho warriors, along with the standard Heishi warriors, so be extra careful on that side. Be sure to kill the 'Soul Fish' of the Masho warriors too, as they 'can' attack you, but (more importantly) they leave after a few moments and you'll lose the chance to get more Mashogane pieces from them. After having cleared the Royal Hall(Exterior), head to the west side of the Masho warded door and use the Key to the Royal Hall to enter into the Royal Hall(Interior). Once inside, Follow the corridor to encounter more enemies, so defeat them before advancing. When you reach the stairwell, more enemies will assault you, so take your time and eliminate them. Before going up the stairs, grab the visible chest for another Celestial Light item, then head upstairs. Once upstairs, yet more enemies(including Masho warriors) will attack you, so fight them off, then open the visible chest for a Tengu Herb. Head up the hall to a gap and grapple across it. Continue up and when you notice a glow, jump and swing at the hanging lantern to get your *11th* Essence of Amahagane. Kill the enemies that appear, then continue till you notice an opening to your right(south on the mini-map) and use it to return to Royal Hall(Exterior), only on the roof. Fight your way to the west(on the mini-map) and destroy the Masho Flower, then go back north and head to the east(on the mini-map) side, opening a chest in the north-east corner along the way for an Exuberant Crest. At the end of the path, past the Masho Flower, slash for the *12th* Essence of Amahagane, then kill the enemies on this side and destroy the last Masho Flower to eliminate the Masho ward on the door. Drop down and kill whatever enemies in your way that you want, but head back to the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save. After you're finished clearing up the Royal Hall(Exterior) again(if you want), head up through the formerly Masho warded door for more scenes. Now, You're controlling Yoshitsune again(by himself) and in a rather confined, squarish, battlefield with many enemies. Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner and break the pots for another Kurama Herb. The southwest(on the mini-map) corner has a pot with a Celestial Light in it. The other two corners have pots with health orbs(or whatever they're called), so I'd suggest not breaking the pots in those corners unless you need immediate health. Fight off the enemies until a scene occurs, giving you a hint on what you have to do now. !A Great Barrier Forms! Find the Tamayori talisman in the Treasure Vault so you can break through the enormous barrier. Items: Miracle Pill x1, Kurama Herb x1, Celestial Radiance x1, Vajra Crest x1, Roaring Crest x1, Celestial Light x1 Essences of Amahagane: 8 You now have Benkei and Shizuka, so head south and then east to the Tamayori Sigil to save your game. Eliminate only the enemies you need to, as you have to beware of constant arrow-volleys from the rooftop archers(see? told you they were the most annoying enemy). Head back through the door that leads to the Royal Hall(Interior) and retrace your steps from earlier, fighting off the enemies as you go, until you reach the exit to the Royal Hall(Exterior) and the barricade. Destroy the barricade with Benkei's Kick, then approach the Tamayori Sigil after destroying the barricade to heal and save. There's also a chest to the left of the Sigil with a Miracle Pill inside, so get it, then head through the corridor in front of you. Kill the Heishi(and Masho) warriors that appear as you advance. Use Benkei to unbar the doors along the way. When you reach the area with the stairs leading down, the *13th* Essence of Amahagane is in the small lamp(torch) beside the stairs(the lit lamp). Now, Head down the stairs. At the bottom, defeat more enemies that will advance on you and be sure to get the chest in the left(south-west) corner, near the stairs, for another Kurama Herb. Head up and unbar the door to your left with Benkei, then continue through the hall. At the end is a chest with a Celestial Radiance, so get it and eliminate the enemies in your way, then unbar this door as well(with Benkei, of course). Now, Head back to the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save, then hit the switch with Benkei and switch to Shizuka to run through the hall, ignoring any enemies that may appear this time(you've got a timer running), down the stairs and out the door(pretty much of your choice) to the Royal Hall(Exterior). Now, Make your way for the secret door which is reached by dropping off at the broken bridge section of the area, then heading straight up(west) through it. Now, We're in the Treasure Vault with a bunch of enemies. First, head to the right(west on the mini-map) to a well in a corner and slash for the *14th* Essence of Amahagane, then deal with the present enemies. There's also a Tamayori Sigil in the northwest(on the mini-map) corner before heading inside the vault itself, so you can heal and save. Once inside the building itself, head into the room to your right(west on the mini-map) and open the chest for the Key Item: Jade Clefstone. Don't fool with destroying the objects in the room, there's nothing in them. Now, Go into the left(east on the mini-map) room and slash around to get a Vajra Crest item. The *15th* Essence of Amahagane is hiding in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner of this little room, so get it while taking out the Masho warrior here. Now, Head back out and go up to the Masho ward, then examine it to use the Jade Clefstone to disperse it and go through into another room. In the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of this room, just to the left of the door you entered through is the *16th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Eliminate the enemies in the room(three Masho warriors), then take the west door out of the room and deeper into the Treasure Vault. Head north then west a bit(on the mini-map) and enter the south(on the mini-map) door, then open the chest for Key Item: Key to the Library. Back out and defeat the Heishi warriors that have appeared, then take the doorway directly north of the one you just came out. Open a chest in the northeast corner for a Roaring Crest and eliminate the enemies. Back into the hallway, head west and then north, and west again(all by the mini-map). Use the Library Key to unlock and enter the room to your left(south on the mini-map) for a Tamayori Sigil for you to heal and save at. Head out the door opposite the one you entered through and go west(on the mini-map) to eliminate a Masho warrior and in the southwest corner of this little section is the *17th* Essence of Amahagane, so get it. Now, Head back east and go into the south room. Kill all the enemies and just to the west(on the mini-map) of the south doorway(the one you can use, which is the eastern one) out of this room is the *18th* Essence of Amahagane, so slash around until you get it. The *19th* Essence of Amahagane is slightly to west(on the mini-map) of the seventeenth one, but you'll have to jump and slash around(with Shizuka, I suggest) to get it. Now, Head out the south doorway into another hall and go east(on the mini-map) and break a jar in the corner to get another Celestial Light. Head along the hall to the west(on the mini-map), eliminating the enemies, and slash the vase of flowers at the end for the *20th* Essence of Amahagane, then enter the door and open the chest inside for Key Item: Tamayori Talisman. Now, Leave the Treasure Vault, back to the Tamayori Sigil at the entrance. Save and then use the door next to the Sigil to return to area where you got the Cerulean Clefstone with Yoshitsune and Benkei earlier. Eliminate the enemies(Spearman, which are a nuisance), then use the north(on the mini-map) exit back to the alleyway. !A Treasured Sword Stole! Use the Tamayori talisman to dispel the Great Barrier. Items: Kurama Herb x1 Essences of Amahagane: 1 Eliminate the enemies in the alleyway, if you want, then head east(on the mini-map to return to the Royal Hall(Exterior), on the side you could reach with Yoshitsune and Benkei earlier. Use the Tamayori Sigil to your right and save, then examine the barrier to use the Tamayori Talisman to disperse it. Make your way through the Royal Hall(Exterior) to the Tamayori Sigil, eliminating enemies(if you want) and dodging those damnedable archers' arrows. Once you're done killing the enemies(or avoiding them), head through the north door back to Shishin Temple. Go forward and use the Tamayori Sigil, then head west(on the mini-map). Eliminate the enemies and slash in the northwest corner for the *21st* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head to the eastern(on the mini-map) end of the area to find more enemies. Break the pots for a Kurama Herb and kill the enemies. Return to the Tamayori Sigil and save once more, then head up through the open doorway for some cutscenes and you can now welcome back Yoshitsune(you've finally got all three characters together). Time for a boss fight. *****BOSS #1***** Altered Masho Warrior(Commander) You'll be facing a more powerful Masho warrior, along with a group of generics. Use your regular tactics to eliminate them all, including the 'Boss'. Seriously, I don't think you'll have much trouble out of this fight, as it's barely more difficult than the groups of regular enemies thus far. There are a couple of jars in two of the corners that contain health, if you need it. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the fight, You'll receive the first Unsullied Amahagane of four. IMPORTANT NOTE: There are only FOUR Unsullied Amahagane in the game and you should wait until you have your final character to use this, as it affects the entire group. Watch the cutscenes. !*End Chapter 1*! Watch the narrated cutscene. !*Begin Chapter 2*! !To The Peak! Cross the mountain so you can strike the Heishi camp from their rear. Items: Ghost Water x1, Loving Crest x1, Miracle Pill x1, Celestial Light x2, Tathagata Pill x1, Tengu Herb x1, Kurama Herb x1 Essences of Amahagane: 13 Watch the first scene, then you're in control, so eliminate the enemies your faced with and the barrier will fall. Afterward. Two Genji soldiers will tell you of your next objective: Rescue the 8 injured Genji soldiers along the path ahead. You'll get the second tip on Yoshitsune's talents and a Tamayori Sigil will appear, so use it. Proceed along the path, staying on ground-level, and turn left(northwest on the mini-map) into the first alcove to find a Genji soldier, speak to him to rescue him(1 down). Continue along until an enemy ambush happens. Kill the enemies to lower the barrier, then go slightly to your left(north on the mini-map) into a small alcove and speak to the Genji soldier to rescue him(2 down), also jump up and slash around at the center of this little alcove to find the *22nd* Essence of Amahagane. Head out of the little alcove and jump onto a downed log on the right(south on the mini-map) side, then follow it up to another Genji soldier(3 down). Jump off and continue along the ground-level path to the visible next Genji soldier(4 down), then keep going until you reach the waterfall. To the right(south on the mini-map) before it is another Genji soldier(5 down), slash the area where he was to get the *23rd* Essence of Amahagane, then head through the waterfall to enter a cave. At the end of the cave is another Genji soldier(6 down) and a crate you can break for a Ghost Water. Now exit the waterfall cave and return to the Tamayori Sigil to save. Now, Advance along the path again, only this time find the 'stairs' just past the Tamayori Sigil and climb them to find another Genji soldier(7 down). Notice the enemy spearman walking the path just above you? Well, You can actually get the jump on him by jumping up to the higher path and attacking him while his back is toward you. Across the gap, you should notice the last Genji soldier, but DO NOT rescue him yet. Use Yoshitsune's Wall-Run across the gap, slashing mid-way with square to get the *24th* Essence of Amahagane. Ignore the Genji soldier for now and Wall-Run across the next gap when the enemy's back is turned and eliminate him(if he notices you, you'll have to fight three enemies instead of just him, but don't worry as it's just a Masho warrior and two Heishi spearmen). Anyway, Once across the gap, continue along and you'll notice an alcove to your left(north on the mini-map), so Double Jump up to it and open the chest for a Loving Crest. Drop back down and return to the last Genji soldier(the one I told you to ignore) and speak with him(8 down) to finish the Rescue Mission. When you regain control, you'll be in the waterfall cave at night and you'll have a Tamayori Sigil next to you that you can use to save. Leave the cave and you'll encounter a new enemy-type: Masho Crabs. These little guys are just a bit annoying with there massive numbers and hard-to-counter attack, so I suggest forgetting about trying to counter them and either using Shizuka's wide sweeping attacks to get lots of Mashogane pieces, or use Yoshitsune's Aerial Juggle Trick(Jump, Circle, 'Aerial Combo', repeat). Continue down the path to encounter a second group of the mini-crabs. Defeat them and then use Benkei to smash the rock(that wasn't there during the day) to get the *25th* Essence of Amahagane. Also, Destroy the tree in the little alcove just to the north(on the mini-map) of the rock. Now, Continue along until another swarm of crabs appear near another big rock, defeat both waves of this group of crabs, then use the downed tree to your right(south on the mini-map) to find a breakable box that contains a Miracle Pill. You can smash the rock, but there's nothing gotten for it. Do, however, destroy the nearby tree in the alcove. Continue back to the entrance to fight two flying Masho warriors(annoying) and open the chest for an Exuberant Crest. Now, Take the 'stairs' up to the elevated area and cross the first gap. Approach the tree to your right and slash for the *26th* Essence of Amahagane. Cross the next gap and continue until you reach the alcove you got a chest in earlier and Double Jump up with Yoshitsune and slash for the *27th* Essence of Amahagane. Drop back down and continue along the elevated path to the waterfall, then use Shizuka to grapple across to the other side. Before advancing, Head into the corner to your right(southwest on the mini-map) and slash for the *28th* Essence of Amahagane, then continue to the next area. After the quick scene, head to your right when you have control and slash for the *29th* Essence of Amahagane. Follow the linear path to find some 'stairs', so jump up to the higher ground and go to your right, then slash around just up from the corner for the *30th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Look for an overhanging ledge to your left and jump up to it. Follow these ledges to a chest with a Healing Breath item inside, so get it, then return to the main path and head a little forward to encounter yet another new enemy: Masho Wasps. I suggest you use Shizuka to deal with them, then continue along. Jump up onto another raised area and you'll notice a raised area above, but head to the left of it first and slash for the *31st* Essence of Amahagane, then jump up to the higher area and continue. When you reach a small gap, more Masho Wasps will fly up out of it to attack you, so eliminate them before crossing the gap. Continue along to the next gap to trigger more Masho Wasps to appear, so be careful and eliminate them(preferrably with Shizuka) before trying to continue(be warned, however, that they never stop spawning). Jump into the gap near the other side to find a breakable crate with a Celestial Light inside. Continue around down here to find another crate with a Tathagata Pill inside. Now, Head back the way you came and find the 'stairs' to the south(southeast on the mini-map) that lead back up to the higher ground. Now, Switch to Shizuka and use her to grapple across to the platform on your left, then jump to the next platform to your left and jump then slash toward the tree to find the *32nd* Essence of Amahagane. Advance forward a bit to have a whole swarm of Wasps show up, so be careful fighting them off and carefully jump to the next ledge to your upper-right, then destroy the crate for a Tengu Herb. Carefully jump to the last part and continue forward to see a cracked stone 'bridge' that will start crumbling as you run across it. Once across, more Wasps will appear, but jump back onto the closest area that was part of the 'bridge', then jump and slash for the *33rd* Essence of Amahagane before jumping back across the small gap to continue forward into a quick cutscene. Now, Run up the hill while avoiding the boulders to reach the top where a Boss Fight awaits. *****BOSS #2***** Masho General Okay, This big guy will go down fairly easily if you dodge his attacks and get behind him(of course, the hint tells you this much). Attacking the Mashogane sticking out of his back will do some heavy damage. You don't really need to use your Kamui in this battle, but feel free to if the need arises(or if you just want to kill the boss stylishly). There's actually an easier way to kill this guy(and the regular enemy versions you'll encounter later). Switch to Benkei and fully charge his Triangle attack(Raging Whirlwind with his first weapon), then release when you get close to the General. This attack(like Benkei's other fully charged attacks) will shatter the General's thick armor and leave him vulnerable to attacks from any side! ***END BOSS FIGHT*** More scenes play so watch them. Now, We're controlling Buson! Get aquainted with his fighting-style, I implore you. In the southeast(on the mini-map) corner are some jars to break for a Kurama Herb, then finish off the group of flying Masho warriors to make a chest appear that contains Buson's weapon: Fearsome Shichi. Once you get the weapon, a cutscene plays and then you're back in control of your other three characters. Head south(southeast on the mini-map) and smash a rock to your character's left, with Benkei, that blocks an empty alcove, then continue down to the Tamayori Sigil you should see on your mini-map and use it to heal and save. Now, Follow the path forward until you come to split, then go left and destroy the rock with Benkei. At the end of the short path, slash to find the *34th* Essence of Amahagane. Head back to the branch and go right to be cut off by a Masho warded barrier. The two Masho Flowers that need to be destroyed are in the alcoves behind the rocks that you destroyed with Benkei, so go cut down the flowers. As you head back down the path, some of the Masho Soul Fish will rise up through the ground and surround you, so kill them off and save at the Sigil after dispersing the Masho ward barrier. As you head back up the path, some flying Masho warriors will descend to attack you, so eliminate them then continue onwards. Continue up the path to reach a clearing where a cutscene will occur. Now you have all four characters, so I suggest you use that Unsullied Amahagane now. Once again, You're in a sealed area with a bunch of enemies to fight off. Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the first squarish section(where you start after the scene) and use Benkei to destroy a large rock; behind it is a chest that you should open for a Celestial Light. Now, Eliminate the enemies here, then head up the small slope to your left(northwest on the mini-map) to a second squarish section where more enemies will appear. There are no more items(or Essences) to be found here, so just eliminate all of the enemies to trigger another cutscene. After it, you'll be given the chance to save and I suggest you do so as the next part is pretty annoying. !Ichinotani Battlefield! Combine your four comrades' strength and defeat the Heishi forces. Items: None! Essences of Amahagane: 4 Welcome to WAR! This area is a bit annoying, especially if you're trying to get all of the Essences. Be cautious not to let yourself get killed as the massive numbers of infinitely respawning enemies swarm you repeatedly. NOTE: You can either get the Essences in this area while fighting off the hordes of enemies, or you can wait until you reach the next section where you can save, then repeatedly re-enter the battlefield and getting some of them at a time until you have them all. It's really your choice. However, I will describe out where they're located as though you're collecting them during the battle. First off, Try your best to avoid most of the enemies while collecting the Essences. Now, Let's proceed. Head up(east on the mini-map) from your starting position and destroy a torch for the *35th* Essence of Amahagane. Head south(on the mini-map) until you reach a barricade(destroyable with Benkei) and head to the southeast(on the mini-map) corner without destroying the barricade, then slash a flame to get the *36th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head along the barricade and start running toward the screen(which will start leading you north on the mini-map again), after a couple steps you should notice your Amahagane glowing so slash toward the screen for the *37th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, I suggest eliminating this first wave of enemies, then destroying the barricade with Benkei to reach another section of the Battlefield. Defeat the wave of enemies here, then destroy a barricade to the west(on the mini-map) and move in that direction slightly for a cutscene, then smash another barricade to reach another section of the Battlefield. Destroy one more barricade and slash around just past it for the *38th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, You can finally start trying to win the battle, so move around the battlefield looking for the larger yellow enemy arrows on your mini-map and defeat all of them to trigger the Boss' appearance. (You may have to eliminate a bunch of the small-fry to get the 'altered' enemies to show up). *****BOSS #3****** Giant Masho Crab This guy can be rather dangerous with his powerful pincers and charge(dash) attacks. First, You'll want to destroy his pincers while avoiding his attacks as well as the attacks of some other powerful enemies(like Masho Generals: the big guys). After destroying the things claws, you can break its 'skull-face' to reveal its Mashogane stone(which is its weak point). Attack the Mashogane crystal to damage it heavily. You can also use Benkei's fully charged R1+Triangle to knock it over on its back, then jump onto it with Yoshitsune to "attack its weak point for massive damage" with R1+Square). Either way, As long as you manage to avoid some of its attacks and fight smart, this guy should go down rather easily. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the crab falls, you'll receive the second Unsullied Amahagane. I suggest going ahead and using it to strengthen your characters. You'll also receive the third weapon for every character: Yoshitsune's Hachiman, Benkei's Dragon's Wrath, Shizuka's Wagtail, and Buson's Billowing Cloud. !Chasing Rainbows! Unravel the mysteries behind the Heishi's power. Items: None! Essences of Amahagane: 1 You'll end up in another area next to a Tamayori Sigil, but go to the tree on your right, just up from the entrance back to the previous area, and jump then slash for the *39th* Essence of Amahagane. You may have to use Shizuka to find it, but it's there. Save and heal at the Tamayori Sigil, then move up for a scene and another Boss Fight. OR, Head back to Ichinotani Beach and fight the neverending hordes for awhile to build up massive amounts of Mashogane pieces to upgrade your weapons. Your choice. Either way, When you head up to the dark barrier(thing), you'll encounter a scene and Boss Fight. *****BOSS #4***** Taira no Atsumori This Psycho-Chick is a real pain-in-the-rear! She's fast, with very quick attacks, so be careful to dodge her strikes and chase her around, hitting her with any combo-attacks you can. I suggest using Yoshitsune or Buson(his Shift Space+SSS) as they're the only ones with fast enough attack-speed to really hit this woman. When she gets down to about half of her health, she'll leap away and you'll have to fight two Flying Masho warriors. After you defeat them, Psycho-Chick will return to the battle, so continue the above pattern and be wary of her Masho Kamui, succeed and you'll do a bit of damage while avoiding all damage. After succeeding at countering a Masho Kamui, she'll be lying on the ground and open for a downed-enemy attack that will do a good deal of damage. One strategy I've found is to utilize Yoshitsune's 'Aerial Juggle'+Heavenly Vengeance-trick(jump, Circle, aerial combo of SST or just press T, then Heavenly Vengeance). The Heavenly Vengeance(fallen-enemy attack with R1+S), as already stated, takes a pretty good chunk out of her health bar. After you drain her health, a scene will play, then you'll have to fight her again. This form is a little harder, as well as quite a bit stronger. This is mainly due to the fact that the Yoshitsune 'Aerial Juggle'+Heavenly Vengeance strategy doesn't work on this form. So, instead, I usually wait for her to do her dive attack(she usually dives three times, but it can vary between 1-3) and dodge, then start comboing her as much as I can; after a couple combos, she'll become grounded and she may use her same attacks from the first fight. At these times(should they happen), utilize whatever strategy you used on her first form(although I think the 'Aerial Juggle' is still out). Anyway, She will take flight again, so be prepared to repeat the process; she still uses Masho Kamui, so counter it if she does and you can still execute Heavenly Vengeance(or one of the other characters' Fallen-Enemy attacks) to do some good damage to her. Keep up with dodging her quick attacks and striking when there's an opening and you'll beat her soon enough. Use Kamui if you need to. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the battle, a string of cutscenes will play. !*End Chapter 2*! A narrated cutscene will signal the end of Chapter 2 and the beginning of Chapter 3. !*Begin Chapter 3*! After the scenes, You'll find yourself in the Netherworld and with only Yoshitsune. !Separated! An enemy trap has left Yoshitsune and the others separated. Reunite them and escape from the Netherworld. Items: Kurama Herb x7, Tengu Herb x2, Vajra Crest x2, Miracle Pill x1, Exuberant Crest x1, Ghost Water x1 Essences of Amahagane: 13 First, Approach the visible Tamayori Sigil(west on the mini-map) and save your game. Break the pots around it for a Kurama Herb and a Tengu Herb. Now, Head north(on the mini-map) and go through the door. You'll be confronted by Nether Masho warriors(these guys are essentially the same, but I think they may be a little more aggressive). Anyway, After you clear the room, the barrier blocking the exit will fall. Break some pots in the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room for a Vajra Crest and slash in the northeast(on the mini-map) corner, next to the large dresser for the *40th* Essence of Amahagane(you'll need to jump and slash). Now, Go through the north door and continue up for a cutscene. Head back and save if you need to before continuing. Anyway, Head west(on the mini-map) and drop into the hole, then break the jars you see for another Kurama Herb and climb back up. Now go east(on the mini-map) to have more Nether Masho warriors appear, so kill them(but, be especially wary of the archers as they fire exploding arrows). Approach the corner ahead, then jump and slash the lit candle for the *41st* Essence of Amahagane. Continue along the hall and even more Nether Masho warriors will appear, so kill them all before anything else. Now, Slash large jar further to the north(on the mini-map) for the *42nd* Essence of Amahagane, then ignore the door to the west(on the mini-map) and continue following the hall, eliminating more enemies as you proceed, until you reach the end where there are a bunch of pots and a breakable crate(the pots contain nothing, while the crate has a Vajra Crest inside). Head back through the hall until you can go left(west on the mini-map) to a door that you should enter. There's a large crystal in this room, but before fooling with it, head to the southwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room and break a pot for a Kurama Herb. Now, Head to the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room and jump-slash above the large dresser for the *43rd* Essence of Amahagane. There's nothing else in the room, so slash the large crystal to cause it to glow. Enemies(including a Commander) will now spawn in the room, so eliminate them in order to exit back to the hall. Once back in the hall, head back south(on the mini-map) to the original split, killing enemies as you go, then head south again to return to the Tamayori Sigil to heal up and save. Head back to the split now. Head west(on the mini-map) and use Yoshitsune's Wall-Run to cross the gap to the other side, then proceed. At the corner ahead, slash the middle of the three pots for the *44th* Essence of Amahagane. Continue along to find another gap that you should drop into and slash the pots for a Celestial Radiance, also eliminate the Nether Masho spearman here, then climb back up and Wall-Run across the gap. Continue forward to another gap that you should jump into and break the crate down there for a Tengu Herb. Defeat the two enemies, then climb back up and Wall-Run to the other side of this gap as well, then enter the room. Another crystal sits in this room, but ignore it for now. Head to the northwest(on the mini-map) corner and jump-slash above the large dresser for the *45th* Essence of Amahagane. That's it in this room, so slash the crystal(for a scene of a portal opening) and defeat the enemies(including a General aka Big Guy), then return to the hall. Make your way back toward the Tamayori Sigil(where this area first started). In the room just before you get back to the Sigil, you'll be introduced to a new enemy: Nether Masho Claw warriors. These are tricky little bastards and you have to defeat them in order to lower the barrier so you can return to the Tamayori Sigil. Be careful while fighting them and kill them all to proceed. Afterward, Head out through the south door and use the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save, then head straight across from it to reach the portal you activated earlier and enter it to reach another section of the Netherworld. Switch over! Now, You're controlling Buson and you're surrounded by the Masho Wasps. First thing to do is destroy the big circular things(the Wasps' nests) to stop them from spawning(there are four in total). Yoshitsune will then show up and Buson will join up with him(you now have two characters). Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner and break a pot next to some stone 'stairs' for a Kurama Herb. Now, Use the portal back to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Primary) to use the Tamayori Sigil to save. Return to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Centre) and use the other active portal to go to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Secondary). In the first room, You'll encounter some Nether Masho warriors and Claw warriors, so eliminate them. There's nothing in this room, so just use the east door to exit the room into a hallway. Proceed forward to find a gap that, if you fall into, you'll be in the enemies' 'ready room' and you'll have to kill all the enemies(including a General) to escape. Plus, There's absolutely NO items or Essences in the room so, unless you're strapped for Mashogane pieces, I suggest you just Wall-Run across the gap to the other side. However, Make sure you Wall-Run along the southern(on the mini-map) side of the gap and slash as you do for the *46th* Essence of Amahagane. It's a bit of a trek, but if you need to heal or save, you'll have to backtrack to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Primary) and use
the Tamayori Sigil there. After crossing the gap, Claw warriors will make themselves known so kill them. At the corner ahead, break the large jars for a Kurama Herb, then proceed through the hall to reach another gap(which also leads to the 'ready room'). Across it, More enemies will appear in the distance so head forward and eliminate them. You'll reach a split(a north hall and a west hall), so continue north and ignore the pots in the corner. You'll reach a door to a room, so enter it to be greeted by a bunch of enemies. Kill them all and break the large jar next to the big stone one at the north(on the mini-map) side of the room to get a Tengu Herb, then use the door opposite the one you entered through to exit the room. Follow the very short hall to another room. Eliminate the enemies that appear in this room and jump-slash a lit candle along the north(on the mini-map) wall for the *47th* Essence of Amahagane, then slash some pots in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner for a Miracle Pill. Exit the room via the door opposite the one you entered through. Head through this hall to reach a door into a larger room and enter it. Enemies will appear, including Masho Shield warriors and Claw warriors, so kill them all to disperse the barrier that erected when you entered this room. Now, There's no reason to scour the room for items as there aren't any. Take the west(on the mini-map) door out of the room. You'll see some gaps, so Wall-Run across the nearest one on the south(on the mini-map) side of it and slash for the *48th* Essence of Amahagane. Use the Wall-Run to cross the next two gaps, then Wall-Run and slash across the next gap(south side) for the *49th* Essence of Amahagane and you'll be back at the split from before(btw, all four of these gaps lead to the 'ready room', so don't drop in any of them). Now, Go back across the gaps and re-enter the large octagonal room, then head through the east door and you'll shortly find a Tamayori Sigil in an alcove to heal and save at, so do so. Head down the hall and enter the alcove just before the door, and break the pots on your left(southwest corner of the alcove on the mini-map) for an Exuberant Crest. Now, Head through the door into another octagonal room and enemies will drop in, defeat some if you want, but they infinitely respawn in this room. Anyway, Break a large jar in the west(on the mini-map) corner for a Kurama Herb and head out the south door(or return the Sigil if you took alot of damage while fighting the respawning enemies). Head forward a little and duck into the alcove with a single jar in the center; the jar contains nothing but jump and slash the lit candle to the left of it(north on the mini-map) for the *50th* Essence of Amahagane. Continue along the hall until you see a door and an alcove to your right(northwest on the mini-map). Duck into the alcove and destroy the large jars for a Ghost Water. Go through the door into another octagonal room with infinitely respawning enemies. There are no items to be garnered from the breakables in this room, so just dart for the west(on the mini-map) door out of the room(unless you feel like killing a bunch of enemies to build up Mashogane pieces; your choice). Anyway, In the hall after this second infinite respawn room, head along the corridor until you reach some gaps with two archers at the opposite end firing arrows at you(man, they just keep getting MORE annoying). Carefully Wall-Run across the gaps to get to the evil archers and kill them. Now, Wall-Run back to the beginning of these gaps. Wall-Run and slash across the west(on the mini-map) side of the first gap for the *51st* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Get to the last of the gaps, then Wall-Run and slash along the east(on the mini-map) side to get the *52nd* Essence of Amahagane. Dropping into any of these gaps takes you to the 'ready room', so don't get uppity about getting items by dropping into the holes. Head through the door past the gaps into another room. In here, Break the large jar in the northwest(on the mini-map) corner for a Kurama Herb and use the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save, then enter the portal back to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Centre), only in a different part(on an elevated platform; that's right, time for some platforming). Step forward onto the lit circle infront of you to get a little scene. Now, Head to the end of this platform and wait on the moving one to come down, then jump onto it. Ride it to its height and Wall-Run onto the next platform, then climb up to the active portal. Ignore the second moving platform and just enter the portal to Netherworld Gojo Bridge for a cutscene and a Boss Fight. *****BOSS #5***** (Spectre) Taira no "Shoki" Moritoshi (aka Hoe Goblin) Approach this fight similarly to a Masho General. He's big and slow but, as a spectre, can instantly teleport anywhere on the bridge. Like with the Masho Generals, Try your best to get behind him when he attacks and strike his back; that's your best bet at doing good damage. Watch out, though, as he has an attack that strikes behind him, so don't try to pressure him too much; hit a combo, then back off. His attacks consist of: a dashing shoulder-block attack, a dashing spear-thrust attack, melee spear combos, and an attack behind himself(used when you're attacking him from behind). IF, however, you can learn the timing for them, you can use the Genji-Counter against his attacks to deal some heavy damage! Be careful, though, if you try this because his attacks are powerful and HURT alot. Also, He can't use Masho Kamui(since he doesn't possess Mashogane), so no need to worry there. Continue this pattern and he'll fall sooner or later, depending on how well you learn his moves and react to them. Use Kamui if you need to. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the fight, You'll receive the first piece of the Yata Mirror, the Blue Violet Shard, that you need to escape the Netherworld. Return through the portal for a scene. !Wandering the Chaos! Benkei and Shizuka have come to. Help them as they hurry to Yoshitsune's side. Items: Kurama Herb x4, Tengu Herb x4, Ghost Water x1, Loving Crest x1, Vajra Crest x1, Healing Breath x1, Exuberant Crest x1, Miracle Pill x1, Celestial Light x1, Tathagata Pill x1 Essences of Amahagane: 7 You'll find yourself to now be in control of Benkei and Shizuka. First, Use the Tamayori Sigil in the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the room to save. Now, Break the large pot to the right(south on the mini-map) of the 'cupboard'-type thing on the east(on the mini-map) side of the room for a Kurama Herb. On the west(on the mini-map) side of the room, there's another 'cupboard'-type thing that has the *53rd* Essence of Amahagane floating above it so jump and slash with Shizuka to get it. Now, Switch to Benkei and use his Benkei Kick(circle) to break the large dresser(there are no items in these two, but remember that you can do this). Now, Save again and head up through the north door into a hallway. Take a few steps and the game will show you a large crystal that you need to hit; this will cause stone pillars to appear. Now, Head forward and jump down to the pit where the enemies are gathered so you can eliminate them. After they're dead, Climb up on the southeast(on the mini-map) side of the pit and break some pots for a Tengu Herb. Now, Climb back to the top(where you started) and use Shizuka to grapple to the other side of the pit, using the eastern(on the mini-map) stone pillar; this should get you the *54th* Essence of Amahagane. If not, then slash the pillar to get the Essence. Now, Continue up the hall to reach a door into an octagonal room. Enter it. Eliminate the enemies, then approach the 'cupboard'-type thing in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner and jump-slash above it to collect the *55th* Essence of Amahagane. Switch to Benkei and Kick the dresser in the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room for a Ghost Water. Exit using the east door and head forward to reach another pit, which you should drop into. Break the crates in the northwest(on the mini-map) corner(in an alcove) of the pit to get a Kurama Herb. Now, Climb up on the opposite side of the pit that you dropped down from and slash the large crystal in the alcove up here to raise some stone pillars. Drop back into the pit and use Benkei to destroy the damaged southern(on the mini-map) wall to encounter some enemies. Eliminate them, but BE CAREFUL as there are a TON of annoying archers firing at you. After dealing with the enemies, follow this hidden hallway to a chest and open it for a Loving Crest. Now, I recommend returning back to the Tamayori Sigil at the beginning of this area to heal and save(those archers can shave off a LOT of health), then return here. Once back in the pit, head north(on the mini-map) to reach a door, so go through it into another octagonal room. Kill the enemies that appear, then break the pot in the southwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room for a Kurama Herb. Now, Approach the 'cupboard'-type thing and jump-slash above it for the *56th* Essence of Amahagane. Use Benkei's Kick to break the dresser in the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the room for a Vajra Crest. The other two dressers contain nothing. Head through the west door and eliminate the enemies here(which is at the bottom of a pit). Head into the southeastern(on the mini-map) corner of the pit and jump-slash a lit candle for the *57th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head into the alcove on the west(on the mini-map) side of the room and break down the damaged wall with Benkei. Eliminate the single enemy in the hidden hall and run to the end of it, where you can break some objects for a Healing Breath item. Now, Head all the way back to the octagonal room that had three exits(including the west one that you initially entered it through). Continue back to the Tamayori Sigil if you need to, then return to this room again. Now, Head through the north(on the mini-map) door, this time. You'll find yourself above the pit that you were just previously in. You'll also notice a platform moving back-and-forth infront of you and a grapple-pillar in the distance. You need to time your jump and get on the moving platform and then grapple to the other side using the pillar. In order to do this, you need to get to the VERY edge of the moving platform(once you're on it) and hold the focus button to lock onto the stone pillar, then press circle to grapple to it. Once you've made it, Head up to the door and enter another octagonal room. Kill the enemies in this room(Claw warriors), then use Benkei's Kick to break the two dressers in the room for two Tengu Herbs. Take note of the deactivated portal, then head through the west(on the mini-map) door into another hallway. Use Benkei to destroy the first barricade and then to destroy the damaged wall on your left(south on the mini-map) to reveal a Nether Masho General, so kill him and open the chest for an Exuberant Crest. Now, Use Benkei to Kick down the second barricade to continue. Kill the two enemies and then Kick down the third barricade with Benkei to eliminate another enemy, then Kick down the damaged wall on your right(northwest on the mini-map) to reveal a hidden alcove with a single large jar that you should break for the *58th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Kick down the fifth barricade with Benkei and eliminate the two archers, then head through the door. There's a crystal in this room, but first! Use Benkei to destroy the dresser along the east(on the mini-map) wall for a Tengu Herb. Now, Smack the crystal and try to leave the room to cause a barrier to erect and enemies(including a General) will appear. Eliminate them to disperse the barrier, then return to the portal room and take the east(on the mini-map) door. Use Benkei to Kick down the first barricade, then the damaged wall on your left(north on the mini-map) to reveal a chest that you should open for a Miracle Pill. Now, Kick down the second barricade with Benkei and kill the Nether Masho Commander(preferrably before he summons back-up), then Kick down the third barricade with Benkei. Kick down the damaged wall on your right(southeast on the mini-map) to reveal another Nether Masho Commander and a chest; kill the Commander and open the chest for a Celestial Light. Now, Kick down the fourth barricade and eliminate another Commander, then head through the door. Another crystal is housed in this room, but first! Use Benkei to destroy the dresser along the west(on the mini-map) wall for a Kurama Herb. Now, Strike the crystal to activate the previously inactive portal. Try to leave to have enemies appear. Eliminate the two waves of enemies and return to the portal room, and use the portal to reach Netherworld Cult Chamber (Centre). Here, Enter the portal just right(north on the mini-map) of the one you came through to return to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Primary)(where you first controlled Yoshitsune in the Netherworld) and use the Tamayori Sigil here to heal and save. Head back through the portal and take the portal that leads to Netherworld Cult Chamber(Secondary); in the first room, use Benkei to Kick down a destructible wall(the west wall on the mini-map) to find a hidden chest behind it that contains a Celestial Radiance. Return to Netherworld Cult Chamber(Centre) and climb the stone 'stairs' in the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the large room to find the floating platform that you previously activated with Yoshitsune and Buson. Ride it up and jump to the platform on your right, then climb up to the portal to Netherworld Gojo Bridge. Notice the moving platform that I told you to ignore earlier? This time, Carefully jump onto it and ride it to the larger platform in the center of the room to have a barrier erect around it and enemies will appear. Kill all the enemies to have the barrier disperse, then grapple across to the platform along the other wall with Shizuka. From here, Climb up to the activated portal then jump onto the moving platform and jump from it to the platform on the other side of it. Jump again to one more platform and use Shizuka to slash between it and the next platform(which you'll need Yoshitsune to reach) for the *59th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Jump back to the previous platform, then jump back onto the moving platform and ride it to the bottom of its trek, then jump onto the platform you see down here. Jump to the next platform and break the pots for a Tathagata Pill. That's all you can do before reuniting with your other party-members, so get back on the moving platform and ride it to the top where you can jump back to the platform with the portal on it. Enter the portal to reach Netherworld Myogyoji Temple and run forward into the clearing for a quick scene and a Boss Fight! *****BOSS #6***** (Spectre) Raijuu(Nue) Another familiar Genji face. Anyway, I suggest sticking with Shizuka for this boss and, astoundingly, approaching it from the front. Once you're near it, Attack it if you have an opening, but make sure to watch for any movement it makes to attack. Time your rolls with the right analog stick to roll through the beast's fairly slow attacks and then hit it with your own combo. Sometimes, You can actually get two full 3-square combos with Shizuka's first weapon: Fleck, but I suggest just trying for one combo at a time. Btw, My Shizuka's Fleck was upgraded to level 4(upgraded 3 times) by this time, as was my other three characters' first weapons: Yoshitsune's Hizamaru, Benkei's Benkei's Club, and Buson's Little Crow, Reforged). One word of warning, though! When he does land an attack, it HURTS! His attacks consist of: a 2-hit claw-swipe infront of him, a claw-slam attack that creates a small shockwave, an attack where he sends out a whirlwind infront of himself, an attack with one of his hind legs(used when you're attacking him from the side or back), and his old charging dash attack. Overall, I'd say this guy's rather a pushover, as long as you DODGE his attacks while using Shizuka(even if her Vitality is upgraded quite a bit). However, If you find yourself needing Kamui then, by all means, feel free to use it. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the battle, you'll receive the second piece of the Yata Mirror, the Yellow Ume Shard. Head up the small set of stairs in the northeast corner of the battlefield and go through the portal there back to Netherworld Cult Chamber (Centre) for a scene and the two parties are now one again. Get ready, though, for ANOTHER Boss Fight! *****BOSS #7***** (Spectre) Taira no Kagekiyo Another familiar face(if you've played the first Genji). (funny, don't you think? EVERY person who died in the first game appears in the Netherworld(even Hogen), EXCEPT Taira no Kiyomori) You start in control of Buson and he's pretty well-matched against the original owner of his current form. Unless, that is, you suck at controlling Buson, like most. I, personally, always fight Kagekiyo with Buson in this fight, but feel free to use the character you're best with. I would generally recommend Yoshitsune as the 'best' character for taking on Kagekiyo, but it's really just a matter of the player's play-style(and who they're best with). Anyway, If whichever character you're using gets low on health, quickly switch to a standby character so you don't get game over. Other than that, I suggest, as usual, dodging his attacks and striking him as he recovers. Oh yeah! Like Moritoshi, Kagekiyo can teleport around the small area you fight him in because he's a spectre. Just keep chasing him around, dodging his attacks(especially the shockwave), and attacking whenever you have an opening. Btw, If you choose to use Buson, then I would reccommend his Triple Sea Slash with Little Crow, Reforged. To use it, Do his Shift Space(evasion move) and press square three times. This works pretty good if you Shift Space toward Kagekiyo when he appears. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** !Escape from the Netherworld! Chase after the ghost of Kagekiyo and reclaim the mirror fragment. Items: Tathagata Pill x2, Roaring Crest x1, Alchemic Crest x1, Loving Crest x1, Healing Breath x1, Miracle Pill x3, Vajra Crest x1, Kurama Herb x6, Tengu Herb x1, Exuberant Crest x1, Ghost Water x1 Essences of Amahagane: 16 After the battle, Use Shizuka to grapple back over to the platform with the portal to Netherworld Myogyoji Temple, then use Yoshitsune to jump and Wall-Run to to the right(northwest on the mini-map) to reach a ledge; step on a circle to activate another moving platform. Now, Double-Jump up to the raised part of this left where a chest and a pot await; one has a Tathagata Pill and the other has a Roaring Crest. Drop back down to the circle, then Wall-Run back to the portal-ledge. Now, Get back across the moving platform to the ledge on the other side. Jump to the next platform and then Wall-Run to the one after it. Double-Jump to the higher part of this ledge, then use Shizuka to attack between the ledge you're on and the one ahead of you(north on the mini-map) to reveal the *60th* Essence of Amahagane; switch back to Yoshitsune, then jump against the wall and Wall-Run to the next ledge. Double-Jump up to a higher section again, then use Shizuka to grapple to the lone platform to your left, which should get you the *61st* Essence of Amahagane; if not, then attack the pillar once you're on the platform for it. Now, Carefully ease your way around the pillar and jump to the larger platform. Upon reaching the center of this platform, a barrier will erect around it and you'll have to fight two Masho warriors and a Masho General, so be careful you don't get killed. After you defeat them, the barrier will fall. Now, You should be able to see a ledge with two taller sections on it to the southwest(on the mini-map). There's also a pillar, so use Shizuka to grapple safely over to the ledge. Now, Get between the two taller sections and jump against the one on your right, then hold the analog stick toward the other one and Double-Jump off the right one, then repeat by holding the analog stick back in the direction of the right one and Double-Jumping off the left one to get on top of the shorter(right) one. (It's actually simpler than it sounds). Now, Instead of jumping on up onto the taller(left) raised section, move to the edge of the one you're on and you'll just 'barely' be able to see the moving platform you activated earlier. Wait on it to go as low it will, then back up to get a slight run and jump onto it(be quick, or it will have started moving back upward); you may have to use Shizuka for this jump, as her jump is just slightly better than Yoshitsune's. Now, Ride it to its highest elevation and carefully jump toward the tall ledge to your right which has four pots on it. Slash the four pots to obtain: an Alchemic Crest, a Tathagata Pill, a Loving Crest, and a Healing Breath. Now, Press against the even taller part of this strange ledge and use Yoshitsune to Double-Jump upward, then slash for THREE Essences of Amahagane(*62nd*, *63rd*, & *64th*)! Now, CAREFULLY move to the edge of this rewarding ledge(standing against the taller portion) and Double-Jump upward(but, DON'T move the analog stick), then slash to reveal a FOURTH Essence of Amahagane(*65th*). Now, I suggest you drop all the way down and go save at the Tamayori Sigil in Netherworld Cult Chamber (Primary). When you're ready to continue, re-trace the outlined directions above until you get to the two tall sections on the very high platform. This time, Jump from the top of the right one to the top of the taller left one, then wait on a moving platform to come near you and jump onto it. Ride it across a gap and jump onto the next ledge you see. Once on this ledge, you'll notice another moving platform going up and down, so jump on it when it comes down and ride it up. Jump onto the next ledge and advance for a short scene showing you the portal you need to take. Now, Move to the end of this ledge to see yet another moving platform. Before aiming for the moving platform, switch to Shizuka and take a swing between it and the ledge you're on to garner the *66th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Wait on the moving platform to reach its lowest elevation and Wall-Run over to it using Yoshitsune, then ride it up and jump up to the highest platform(ledge) to reach the portal. Go through to reach Netherworld Cult Chamber (Sanguinary). You should notice a Tamayori Sigil dead-ahead on your mini-map(to the north). So approach it for a quick scene of Kagekiyo's ghost, then use the Sigil to save your game. Let's follow Kagekiyo, shall we? So head west(on the mini-map) and follow the hall to a room with another quick scene of Kagekiyo's ghost. After the scene, Dispatch the enemies that have appeared and head to the north(on the mini-map) end of this pit-area to find a damaged wall that you can destroy with Benkei. This reveals a hidden hall with a bunch of enemies. Kill them and head up the hidden hall to a split, go left to reach a chest with a Miracle Pill inside. Now, Head back and go right at the split to a chest with a Vajra Crest inside. Now, Return to the pit-area room you were just in and find a large crystal in the alcove in the east(on the mini-map) side of the room, then slash it to raise pillars on the ledges above you. Nothing else to do here, so return to the Tamayori Sigil and save, then take the east(on the mini-map) hall to reach another room at the bottom of a pit. Eliminate the enemies that spawn and then continue north(on the mini-map), as there's nothing to find in this 'room'. When you reach another room, more enemies will appear for you to kill, so do so. Be careful, though, as this group includes those annoying archers up on the ledges above you. I suggest luring the ground-troops into the hallway you're in and killing them, then entering the room itself and climbing up to deal with the archers. After the enemies are gone, make sure you're at the bottom of the room. Now, Climb up onto the ledge in the southwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room and use it to get to the high ledge. Enter the alcove up here(west side on the mini-map) and destroy some pots for a Kurama Herb, drop down and continue north(on the mini-map) and you'll notice a damaged wall in the corner ahead. Destroy it with Benkei to reveal a Masho General and a chest; grab the chest for a Celestial Radiance and then take out the General. Now, Head back into the hall and continue west(on the mini-map) to reach a gap(which leads to an enemy 'ready room'). There's nothing down there, so just use Yoshitsune to Wall-Run to the other side of the gap where there's a door. Enter it and eliminate the enemies(a Masho General and archers!). After they're all taken care of, destroy the large jar next to the door you entered through for a Tengu Herb. Approach the left 'cupboard'-type thing at the north(on the mini-map) wall of this small room and jump-slash above it to retrieve the *67th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Exit using the west(on the mini-map) door to find another gap(leads to the 'ready room'). Wall-Run to the other side where you'll see enemies in another room, so wipe them out. Head to the west(on the mini-map) side of the room and destroy a large jar in the corner of the alcove for an Exuberant Crest. That's it here, so return ALL the way back to the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save. Now, once again, take the east(on the mini-map) hall until you reach the second room(the one that the enemies don't respawn in). Climb up on the west side and use Shizuka to grapple across to the east side. Now, Follow the hall on this side to reach a door. Go through the door into the room and eliminate the enemies(which include a Masho Commander and archers). Approach the southeast(on the mini-map) 'cupboard' and break the stuff on its shelves for a Kurama Herb, then jump and slash above the other 'cupboard' for the *68th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Leave the room via the southern(on the mini-map) door into another hall; follow the hall to reach a pit and CAREFULLY jump to the ledge on your left(north on the mini-map) to find a large crystal that you should slash to raise some pillars. Now, Use Shizuka to grapple to the other side of the pit(west side on the mini-map) and follow the hall to a split(west and north on the mini-map). Take the north branch to a series of gaps(all lead to the 'ready room') and use Shizuka to slash along the east(on the mini-map) side above the gap to retrieve the *69th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Cross the first gap with Yoshitsune(but, be careful not to overshoot and fall into the second gap) and use Shizuka to slash above the second gap on the west(on the mini-map) side for the *70th* Essence of Amahagane. Cross the second gap with Yoshitsune and follow the hall around a corner to find MORE gaps(three, this time). Wall-Run across the first gap, then Wall-Run and slash(with square, of course) across the second gap(along the north wall on the mini-map) for the *71st* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Wall-Run across the third gap and use the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save. Now, Head BACK across the gaps to reach the split again; Time to take the west path. Shortly along the west path, you'll come to a pit-area. Carefully jump to the ledge on your right(south on the mini-map) and slash the pots for a Ghost Water. Now, Use Shizuka to grapple across to the west(on the mini-map) side of the room(btw, this is the place you saw Kagekiyo's ghost) and follow the hall on this side until you run into an enemy ambush, so eliminate them. Now, Continue north(on the mini-map) and slash a lit candle on the eastern(on the mini-map) wall just before the corner that will lead east(on the mini-map) for the *72nd* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Continue following the hall until you reach the next corner(which changes the hall's direction from east back to north) and slash the lit candle in this corner for the *73rd* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Continue following the hall once more and you'll end up back at the Tamayori Sigil that you found after crossing the gaps before. Now, Continue north(on the mini-map) to reach a pit-area with a moving platform and pillars on the other side. This is TRICKY! CAREFULLY jump onto the moving platform first, then switch to Shizuka and grapple across the pit using the eastern(on the mini-map) pillar; by using this pillar you get the *74th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, You're on the eastern ledge near the alcove that contains the door to proceed. Carefully jump to the alcove with the door and enter it to an octagonal room where you'll get a quick scene of Kagekiyo's ghost escaping through a portal(then the portal deactivates, so you'll need to 're'activate it to follow him). First, Save at the Tamayori Sigil on the west(on the mini-map) side of the room. None of the breakables in this room contain anything, so don't bother trashing the room for goodies. Take the northwestern(on the mini-map) door into another hallway and head forward until you can duck into an alcove; break the pots for a Kurama Herb. Now, Follow the hallway until you reach another alcove; duck into it and break the large jars for another Kurama Herb. Enter the door at the end of the hall; once in the room, approach the northern-most 'cupboard' of the two in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner of the room and break the shelves for a Miracle Pill. Now, Slash the large crystal in the center of the room and try to leave the room to have the exits seal off with barriers and enemies appear. Kill all of the enemies to disperse the barriers and exit the room using the east(on the mini-map) door into another hallway. Head through this straight hall and enter the room on the other side through the door. In this room, Approach the southern-most 'cupboard' in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner of the room and break the shelves for another Miracle Pill. Now, Approach the northern-most 'cupboard' of the two in the southwest(on the mini-map) corner on the room and jump-slash above it for the *75th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Slash the large crystal in the center of the room to reactivate the portal Kagekiyo's ghost used earlier. Try to leave the room to be sealed in with a group of enemies(a Masho General, Claw warriors, and archers). Kill them all to disperse the barriers and exit using the south(on the mini-map) door. Follow this hall forward just a bit and duck into the alcove to the east(on the mini-map); break the large jar for a Kurama Herb. Now, Continue following the hall to another alcove and duck into it to break another large jar for another Kurama Herb, then use the door at this end of the hall be back in the portal room. Use the Tamayori Sigil and then go through the portal to Netherworld Rokuhara Palace for a quick scene and a Boss Fight! *****BOSS #8***** (Spectre) Taira no Kagekiyo This fight isn't that different than the previous fight against Kagekiyo's ghost, with the exception that the battle-area is much larger and, I think, he has more vitality this time. Anyway, Refer to the strategy for BOSS #7 for help in this fight... though, I doubt you'll really need it as he's not really that difficult. Oh, He 'does' have a couple new attacks too that you should watch for. But, really, Just try to chase him, dodge his attacks, and hit him with a combo or two(if you can), and he'll fall before too long. A quick note: I prefer using Yoshitsune to Buson this time around, mainly because I used Yoshitsune to fight Kagekiyo in this area in the first Genji. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the fight, Watch the cutscene and you'll finally be out of the Netherworld. !*End Chapter 3*! Save your game at the prompt and watch the narrated scene to signal the Chapter-change. !*Begin Chapter 4*! Watch the cutscene. !The Battle of Yashima! Aid the Genji army, who have been fighting a losing battle without Yoshitsune and the others. Items: Miracle Pill x2, Ghost Water x1, Exuberant Crest x1, Roaring Crest x1, Celestial Light x1, Alchemic Crest x1, Tathagata Pill x1, Loving Crest x1, Healing Breath x1 Essences of Amahagane: 5 Time for another "War-Battle"(as I've dubbed them). Like the first one, Be very CAREFUL as you collect the items and Essences in this area while avoiding the enemies. Hug the left(west on the mini-map) wall and start up the hill, then break the boxes beside a tree for a Miracle Pill. A little further up are some more boxes that contain a Ghost Water. Head to the east(on the mini-map) side and find some boxes to break for an Exuberant Crest. Now, Continue up to the top of the hill for a cutscene. Btw, You're going to encounter a new enemy-type during the Battle of Yashima; Masho Armadillo warriors. To kill these guys, you have to attack them from the front(dangerous, I know) and break their breastplate to reveal the Mashogane crystal that needs to be attacked to kill them. After the scene, You'll learn that you have to kill the Living Weapon using the abandoned Arbalests around the battlefield, while getting swarmed by enemies. Anyway, Hug the right(east on the mini-map) wall and head north until you see a box next to a Masho Commander; break it for a Roaring Crest and kill this Commander. Head left just a bit(around the section blacked out on the mini-map) and break a box for a Miracle Pill. Now, Continue north(on the mini-map) along the east wall and eventually you'll see a box sitting just north of you in the open; break it for a Celestial Light. Keep hugging the wall as it goes right(east on the mini-map) and you'll come across an Arbalest, so use it. Also, Defeat the Commander near it(getting the *76th* Essence of Amahagane in the process). Keep following this wall and break down a barricade with Benkei; break a box for an Alchemic Crest and kill the Masho Commander here. Just west of the alcove-like tip where the Alchemic Crest was, you can find the *77th* Essence of Amahagane if you slash to the north while against the wall. Continue following the wall and it'll start downward; there's a breakable pot around here that contains a Tathagata Pill. There's a barricade shortly after you start downward. When the wall turns northward again, head southwest a bit to find a Masho Commander and the second Arbalest; use the Arbalest to kill the second Living Weapon and kill this Commander. Now, Return to the wall and continue following it. As you advance northward, still following the wall, you'll come to more breakable barricades(so, break them) and continue. There's a stump just south of these barricades that you can slash above to get the *78th* Essence of Amahagane. There's also a Commander nearby that should be dealt with. A little further along, there's another Masho Commander that should be killed. At the northwest corner(where you can see the fortress in the distance), the *79th* Essence of Amahagane can be found by slashing at the northern-most point you can reach(I understand that's hard to decipher, but this area's hectic). Continue following the wall(which is now the west wall) as it heads southward. There's a squarish point along the wall as you head down that you can break a pot in to get a Loving Crest. Kill the nearby Masho Commander and continue following the wall. Ignore the next Masho Commander(for now) and keep going. Further along, you'll find a box with a Healing Breath inside(as long as you're sticking to the wall like glue). Eventually, You'll find yourself back at the hill(don't go back down the hill). Now, The truly TRICKY part(the center area of the battlefield). Head straight up through the middle area, but stop when you see a lump of ground with a spear stuck in it to your left; slash above the section of ground to get the *80th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, I think that's all of the items and Essences in this area, but if you know of one(or more) I missed here, then e-mail me with the location. Now, Make your way around the battlefield and eliminate any remaining Masho Commanders. When you've killed them all, A White Armadillo warrior(Boss) will appear to the northwest along with TWO Masho Generals! So, anyway, check the northwest when you think you've killed all of the Commanders. Boss Fight time! *****BOSS #9***** White Armadillo Warrior Essentially, This guy needs to be fought like the regular Armadillo warriors. HOWEVER, Note that he is stronger than the regular Armadillo warriors AND he's accompanied by TWO Masho Generals! Fight these three VERY CAREFULLY(while avoiding or killing off the hordes of lesser enemies that will be attacking you all-the-while)! I suggest using the regular tactics to kill off the two Generals first, then focus on the White Armadillo and kill him with the same tactics as the regular Armadillo warriors. OR! Unleash a Kamui on them and, if you fail to kill them all, switch characters and use a second Kamui to finish them off. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the fight, You'll receive the third Unsullied Amahagane of four! You'll also receive the fourth weapons for all four characters: Yoshitsune's Doujigiri(my second favorite of Yoshitsune's weapons), Benkei's Tendertusk, Shizuka's Wind Wreath, and Buson's Kurikara. War-Battle OVER! Watch the cutscene and then you'll be at the Heishi Fortress. !Passing Rainbows! Strike down Noritsune, the Heishi commander who awaits you in the fortress. Items: Celestial Radiance x1 Essences of Amahagane: 1 Approach the Tamayori Sigil straight ahead and SAVE your game! Afterall, You don't want to have to do that war-battle over, do you? I didn't think so. Now, You can return to the Yashima Battlefield to try to get any items or Essences you missed, or just continue onward. First, Use the Unsullied Amahagane to boost your stats, then head up through the gate and hug the right(northeast on the mini-map) wall as you go forward. After a short distance, break an object and you should notice your Amahagane glowing; slash around here to get the *81st* Essence of Amahagane. Continue hugging the wall as you go and you'll find the ramp up to the fortress itself, but don't go up yet. Head to the opposite side of the ramp and find a chest with a Celestial Radiance inside. Return to the Tamayori Sigil to save before entering the Fortress proper. When you enter the Fortress itself, watch the cutscene and then it's time for the next Boss Fight! *****BOSS #10***** Taira no Noritsune This guy uses a naginata and Masho whip, and he is very quick. Like usual, avoid his attacks and strike with a combo when you have an opening. I can't say much more because I just use this strategy against all the human-type(human-like) bosses. Days of the Blade bosses are generally just about learning the opponent's moves, evading them, and attacking. As for his attacks, he mostly uses his Masho whip to quickly pull himself to your location, possibly executing an aerial kick. He also uses attacks with his naginata that resemble Benkei's old naginata attacks from Dawn of the Samurai(man, I miss Benkei's old naginata attacks). Noritsune will stop at points during the fight to grapple one of the Mashogane Crystals on the field to recharge his Kamui bar. When he's recharging his Kamui bar, he's wide open for a combo or two. Soon, He'll stop charging and stand motionless for a short time, then the fight will continue. When he activates a Masho Kamui(which he'll probably do at least once during the fight), then follow the on-screen button-inputs to avoid any damage and deal some to him, as well as knocking him down for a follow-up fallen-enemy attack(R1+Square near him). Just follow these simple steps to defeat this boss like the others. A quick note: After charging, his attacks become faster and harder to read, so watch out. Another strategy is to dodge all of his attacks and let him repeatedly recharge his Kamui bar(and use Masho Kamui). It's rather easy to counter his Masho Kamui and do good damage(when adding the counter damage and fallen enemy attack together). Also, The standard Genji-Counter works pretty well if you can get the timing down(it's not quite as hard as against other bosses, despite his quickness). ***END BOSS FIGHT*** Watch the cutscene after the battle. !*End Chapter 4*! Short Chapter, eh? Anyway, Watch the narrated scene. !*Begin Chapter 5*! !Waters of Dannoura! Cross over the ships covering the water and head for the Heishi's giant battleship. Items: Alchemic Crest x1, Celestial Radiance x1, Kurama Herb x6, Tengu Herb x2, Tathagata Pill x2, Roaring Crest x2, Vajra Crest x1, Loving Crest x1, Exuberant Crest x1, Ghost Water x1, Miracle Pill x3, Celestial Light x1 Essences of Amahagane: 19 First things first, Save using the Tamayori Sigil on your right. Now, Let's get started. Jump to the only boat you can reach and start northward, but jump onto the east boat from the second north one(check your map in the status screen) and walk onto the narrow section at the northeastern end of it, then slash around the center of the narrow part to get the *82nd* Essence of Amahagane. Return to the main path and head north onto the next boat. There'll be two boats north of you with enemies on them, so get onto those boats and kill the threat before continuing. Now, Take the eastern(on the mini-map) one up to the next boat(you can use either) and jump onto the lower(eastern-most) section of it to find a chest containing an Alchemic Crest. Now, Jump from this boat to the next northern boat and look at your map. See the eastern path that dead-ends? That's the path to take first, so head up and jump onto the eastern boat. Jump onto the next east boat and you'll notice some Masho Mini-Crabs. Kill them off and jump onto the next boat, then the next to find a chest with a Celestial Radiance inside. Head back to the main path and check your map again. Now, We're going to take the west path that leads north until we reach that area where we can go west again. So, Jump onto the western boat and then onto the first north boat and grab the chest for a Kurama Herb. Now, Head across the ramp to the next boat and dish out some damage to the Masho warriors here(there're two archers at the west end of this boat that you'll have to climb up to a higher portion to kill). Kill the archers first, then drop down and kill the other enemies(including a Commander). Now, Get onto the third boat and then the next one after it. At the north(northwest) end of this boat is an Ultra-Jump Sigil(for Yoshitsune). Use it to get onto the first boat to the west from here and kill two archers, then use the other Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach the larger boat further to the west and kill the enemies here. There's a Masho Commander at the north end of this boat that you'll have to climb up to reach; you should also get TWO Essences of Amahagane(*83rd* and *84th*) while fighting him. Jump back down and use the Ultra-Jump Sigils to return to the main path. Now, Jump onto the capsized boat north of the one with the first Ultra-Jump Sigil and open your map. There are two paths: one continues north, the other leads east and north to a dead-end with three diagnoally positioned boats to the northeast. Jump onto the east boat and follow it to the next boat which has an Ultra-Jump Sigil on it. Use it to reach the southern-most diagonal boat and kill the archers, then jump down on the eastern-most end to find a chest that contains a Kurama Herb. Jump back up and use the other Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach the next diagonal boat. Kill the archers here and jump down on at the eastern-most end to find a chest with a Tengu Herb inside. Jump back up and use the other Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach the final of the three diagonal boats. Kill this group of evil archers also and jump down on the eastern-most end of the boat for another chest; this one has a Tathagata Pill for you to plunder. Now, Make your way back to the split(and return ALL the way back to the beginning of the area if you want to heal and save). At the split, Head north this time and, on the second northern boat, kill a group of Masho warriors. Now, Continue onto the next boat and the one after it; then, on the next boat, there's a chest with a Celestial Light inside. Grab it and more enemies will appear as you try to get onto the next boat(including Shield warriors), so kill them first and then get on the next boat. Continue northward until you reach a diagonally positioned boat just before a larger ship. On this boat head onto the narrow western-most segment and use Shizuka to slash to the northwest(on the mini-map) to collect the *85th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Get on the larger ship(northeast of the one you're on) and ignore the enemies until you get to next boat, then climb up to either end of it and kill the archers first. After the archers on either side are dealt with, drop down and kill the rest of the enemies here. Return to the ship to the southwest and kill any enemies remaining here, then climb up at the northwest(on the mini-map) edge to get a Flying Masho warrior's attention; eliminate him when he gets close enough. After they're dead, get onto the next ship and climb up to the higher section at the western-most end(northwest on the mini-map). Kill the three archers up here and drop back down, then get on the next boat to the northeast and kill the enemies here. Climb up onto the higher section then jump onto the next boat(to the northwest on the mini-map) and then get on the northern-most boat here(the flat one straight northwest on the mini-map from the one you're on; NOT the one with the Ultra-Jump Sigil on it). Switch to Shizuka and run to the northern-most edge of it, then slash out over the water to obtain the *86th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Jump onto the one to the southwest of the boat you're on and climb up to the the Ultra-Jump Sigil, then use it to the get to another boat to the northwest. Use the next two Ultra-Jump Sigils to reach a boat with a Flying Masho warrior nearby and use Shizuka's jumping Reel(Circle while jumping; it'll take some aiming) to jerk the enemy onto the boat with you or into the water(if you're lucky). Now, Use the next Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach another boat with a Flying Masho warrior hovering around. Again, Use Shizuka's jumping Reel to jerk this one either onto the boat with you(so you can kill him) or into the water(instant-death). Use the next Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach another boat with two Flying Masho warriors hovering around. You can only use Shizuka's jumping Reel on the closer one, so ignore the other one and head back to the beginning of this series of Ultra-Jump Sigils. Now, Jump onto the southwest boat from here and then onto the larger one to the southwest of this one. Kill some Masho Mini-Crabs and make your way along the crescent-shaped path this boat creates. Kill a Flying Masho warrior before jumping onto the next boat which is to the northwest. Kill the enemies here and jump onto the next boat to the northwest. Follow it to the southwest and jump onto the next boat, then climb onto the higher section of it, followed by jumping onto the next boat(another one that looks like a crescent-shape on the mini-map). You should see a chest at the northern(on the mini-map) tip, so go open it to receive a Roaring Crest. Head to the opposite end of this boat and jump onto another one, where enemies await. First, Head to the western-most end and climb up to a higher section to kill an archer. Drop back down and head to the eastern side to find a raised section just east of the center. Climb up and kill another archer to make life easier. Now, Drop back down and kill the regular enemies. After killing the enemies, Use Benkei to destroy the mast of this boat and create a bridge to the next one to the northwest. Cross the fallen mast to the next boat and then jump to the next one, then the one after it and you'll see enemies on the next boat. Before jumping over there to engage the enemies, run to the southwest end of the boat you're on, next to the one with the enemies and you should notice a glow; switch to Shizuka and find where the glow is strongest; now, ignore the area where the glow is strongest and walk out onto the narrow section of the boat, then turn around to face where the glow was strongest(which is directly ahead of you); jump and slash in that direction to find the *87th* Essence of Amahagane(this one's really annoying, but it's there so just keep trying until you find it). Jump to the boat with the enemies and kill them off(starting with the archers on the higher section). Now, Head back to the series of Ultra-Jump Sigils and return to the one where you had to ignore the Flying Masho warrior that's just out-of-reach. Wait for the Flying Masho warrior to get to a point out of the way enough for you to utilize the last Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach the larger ship that's inhabited by enemies. First, Climb up on the eastern-most side of the ship to kill the archers, then climb up further to kill another group of archers. Drop down and kill the rest of the enemies now(including a Masho Commander and the Flying Masho warrior). Now, Climb back up to the highest point(where you killed the second set of archers) and use the Ultra-Jump Sigil here to get onto another boat. Jump down and go to the northern raised section of this boat, then climb up on it and slash to get the *88th* Essence of Amahagane. From the northern(northwestern on the mini-map) end of this boat, you can jump onto one of the sets of wooden planks(walkways) alongside an even LARGER ship. Head right(northeast on the mini-map) on this plank-walkway and climb up to a higher portion, then climb up again. Now, You should see another section ahead of you(southwest on the mini-map), so use Yoshitsune to Wall-Run to it and run up the small stairs to reach Waters of Dannoura (Second Wave). Enemies will immediately appear(including a new Club-Wielding Masho General), so quickly use the visible Tamayori Sigil to heal up and SAVE! Now, Kill the enemies that are surrounding you(you can use the Tamayori Sigil to stay healed as you fight them). After they're taken
care of, head to the west(on the mini-map) end of the ship and you'll face a horde of enemies(including archers along the very western edge), so kill them all(preferrably starting with the archers). Another wave of enemies will appear if you try to head to the northern(on the mini-map) side of the ship, so kill off the second wave as well(this wave includes a Masho General). After both waves have been eliminated, there's a chest a little way east from the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of the ship that contains a Vajra Crest. Return to the Tamayori Sigil to save and heal, then head to the east(on the mini-map) end of the ship. There's two Masho Commanders here and they'll probably call out some reinforcements(unless you're able to kill them beforehand). Kill the two Commanders(and any reinforcements they manage to summon) and head up the steps to the raised section of the ship to have ALOT of enemies appear up here(including MANY archers). I suggest you try to circle around the area and eliminate the annoying archers first, then confront the TWO Masho Generals(one Sword one, and one Club one). Now, Go back to the stairs, but don't go down yet. Notice there are two large Taiko Drums(one to either side of the stairs). Anyway, Approach the one on the north(on the mini-map) side of the stairs and slash it for the *89th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Descend the stairs and return to the Tamayori Sigil if you need to heal and save. Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the ship and you'll be able to see a line of archers along the northern(on the mini-map) side, so run up there and kill them all(there are also two Shield warriors with them). Another group of archers(accompanied by a Club-Wielding General) will drop down after you've dealt with the first set of enemies, so eliminate them as well. With this large ship cleared of enemies, it's time to continue. Head along the northern(on the mini-map) side of the ship and find the opening that leads out onto a plank-walkway. Head to the east(on the mini-map) end of the walkway and jump down to a lower one. Head west(on the mini-map) a bit to find a fallen mast and cross it onto a ship. Break the pot here for a Kurama Herb and climb up to the higher section to the west(on the mini-map), then jump to another ship to the north(on the mini-map) and eliminate some enemies. Drop down and get onto the ship west(on the mini-map) of this one to eliminate even more enemies. Climb up at the south(on the mini-map) end to kill an archer and slash near the fallen Genji warrior in the corner up here(southwest on the mini-map) for the *90th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Jump back down and eliminate any remaining enemies on this ship(also break a pot near the center mast for a Kurama Herb). Get back onto the previous ship(to the east on the mini-map) and then locate the side-laying ship(looks like a crescent on the mini-map) to the east of it. Jump over to the side-laying ship and open a chest to your north(on the mini-map) for a Loving Crest(a Flying Masho warrior is likely to be hovering about and trying to attack you, so kill him). Jump onto the small boat to the east(on the mini-map) and you'll come to a split. Jump onto the boat to the north(on the mini-map) and kill the Shield warrior here, then climb up and switch to Yoshitsune(unless you're already using him, like me) to utilize the Ultra-Jump Sigil. Use the next Ultra-Jump Sigil and then jump onto the ship to your left(west on the mini-map). On the ship, Climb up the northern side to kill some annoyances that are archers(the *91st* Essence of Amahagane is up here also, in the northern-most corner on the highest part of the ship). Now, Jump down and eliminate any other enemies here, then locate the boat with a Genji standard-bearer(flag-guy) on it and use Benkei's Kick to move it to where you need it to be. Note: If you don't see the Genji standard-bearer, then just Kick the northern(on the mini-map) of the two parallel boats next to the ship. Use the Ultra-Jump Sigils to return to the main path. Head east(on the mini-map) and jump onto the southern(on the mini-map) of the two sets of small boats. Climb up to the higher section of the second one(furthest south on the mini-map) to find an Ultra-Jump Sigil and two Flying Masho warriors hovering about. Do your best to kill the two Flying Masho warriors(by knocking them in the water is the quickest way) and then use the Ultra-Jump Sigil. Now, Jump down instead of using the second Ultra-Jump Sigil and jump to northern-most east(on the mini-map) boat from this one, then onto the one directly south of it and break a pot for a Tengu Herb. Now, Continue following the boat-path to the south(on the mini-map) and kill some Masho spearmen along the way. You'll eventually reach a bigger ship after the path turns northeast(on the mini-map). Once on the bigger ship, climb up to the highest section to the southeast(on the mini-map) and slash near the mast up here for the *92nd* Essence of Amahagane(you may have to jump and slash). Jump down and kill the enemies here(including a Masho Commander), then use Benkei to knock down the cracked mast at the center of this ship to create a bridge to the next one. Cross the mast to a half-sunken ship, then jump onto a smaller boat to the northeast(on the mini-map) and follow this boat-path to two bigger ships. Get onto the one to the southeast(on the mini-map) and climb up to the highest portion(at the northeast end on the mini-map), then break a jar for a Miracle Pill. Jump down and kill the three Masho Commanders(and any reinforcements they've summoned), then use Benkei to break down the damaged mast to create a bridge across to the other big ship. Cross the mast and climb up to the highest portion of this ship(again, to the northeast on the mini-map), then slash down the breakable object in the northern-most(on the mini-map) corner to reveal the *93rd* Essence of Amahagane. Jump down and kill all the enemies on this ship(including more Masho Commanders and a Masho General), then use Benkei to break down the mast of this ship as well, to create a bridge to the next one(which is a side-laying ship that looks like a crescent on the mini-map). Cross the mast and run to the northeastern(on the mini-map) end of the side-laying ship to find a chest with an Exuberant Crest inside. Head to the southwest(on the mini-map) end and jump to the next big ship. Climb up to the highest portion(as usual) to kill off some archers. Drop down and kill the other enemies, then climb back up and jump across to the next big ship. Climb up to the highest section(at the southwest end on the mini-map) of this one to eliminate more archers. Drop down now and kill all of the enemies on this ship also(which include MORE Commanders and another General). The small boat to the northwest(on the mini-map) should have a Genji standard-bearer on it(if not, no matter), so use Benkei's Kick to move it to another location. Now, Backtrack across the boats all the way back to where you most recently utilized Ultra-Jump Sigils. If you need help finding where you need to be, go into the status menu(start button on your controller) and open the map. Where you need to be now, is in the approximate center of the map(there are four small boats in horizontal position sitting parallel to one another). On the northern-most one of these boats is another Ultra-Jump Sigil that wasn't active earlier. Now that it is, use it! On the next boat, drop down and jump to the next boat to the northeast(on the mini-map). Kill the two Masho warriors and jump to the small boat to the southeast(on the mini-map), then climb up onto the raised section of it and jump to the next boat to the northeast(on the mini-map). Run across this small boat and jump to the next one to the northeast(on the mini-map), then to the next boat to the northwest(on the mini-map). Kill the Masho warrior here and climb up to the raised section to find another Ultra-Jump Sigil that you should use to reach the next boat. From this boat, jump to the bigger ship to the northeast and climb up to the highest portion(at the northwest end on the mini-map) to kill three archers. Jump back down and head to the kill the rest of the enemies here(including a Masho Commander). Now, Climb back up to where you killed the archers and jump to the next boat(to the west-northwest on the mini-map). Kill the Masho General here and jump onto the plank-walkway alongside the large ship to the north. Wall-Run toward the screen(west on the mini-map) and you'll land on another plank-walkway with a jar that you can break for a Ghost Water. Now, Wall-Run back and then Wall-Run again to the next plank-walkway to the east(on the mini-map) and climb up twice then Wall-Run back to the west(on the mini-map) to reach the entrance to Waters of Dannoura (Third Wave). You may need to heal your characters some with items as there isn't a handy Tamayori Sigil on this large ship. Anyway, Head west(on the mini-map) first and kill the enemies over here(including TWO Masho Armadillo warriors and a bunch of archers). Now, Head to the east(on the mini-map) end along the northern(on the mini-map) side, eliminating the archers up here along the way. Don't bother trying to kill the enemies on the east end as they will continually respawn, so head up the stairs to the higher section of this large ship and eliminate the enemies up here(a bunch of archers, Shield warriors, and a Masho General). With the General out of the way, that'll stop the respawning enemies. Head back to the stairs, but don't descend yet as the *94th* Essence of Amahagane is to be found by attacking the large Taiko Drum on the north(on the mini-map) side of the stairs. Now, Head down the stairs and go along the northern(on the mini-map) side of the large ship to locate an opening onto a plank-walkway. IMPORTANT NOTE: Through the next section of the Waters of Dannoura, you will have to move and fight while being constantly bombarded by off-screen archers(there not enemies that you can find and kill, either)!! Walk out onto the plank-walkway and jump off the east(on the mini-map) end to land on a lower plank-walkway. Head west and Wall-Run to another plank-walkway, then Wall-Run again to reach another one next to a small boat. Jump onto the small boat to the north(on the mini-map) and then get to the bigger ship to the north-northwest(on the mini-map) of this boat. There's a pot at the northern-most(on the mini-map) corner of this ship that contains a Miracle Pill. Now, Get onto the ship to the southwest(on the mini-map) of this one and climb to the higher portion at the northwest(on the mini-map) end. Jump onto the plank-walkway alongside another large ship and Wall-Run to the northeast(on the mini-map) when you see an opening in the arrow-volleys. Repeat this twice more to reach a plank-walkway next to a ship to the southeast(on the mini-map), so jump onto it and then drop down to kill the enemies(including an archer on a raised section of the ship). Now, Jump to the small boat to the southwest(on the mini-map) and climb onto the raised section of it to find an Ultra-Jump Sigil. Use it to get to another small boat and jump down at the northeast(on the mini-map) end to find a chest with a Miracle Pill inside. Climb back up and use the next Ultra-Jump Sigil to reach another boat; kill the Flying Masho warrior and then use the next Ultra-Jump Sigil. On this boat, drop down at the east(on the mini-map) end and jump to the next boat to the north(on the mini-map); kill the spearman here and get onto the bigger ship to the east(on the mini-map). Kill the enemies on this ship(including Flying Masho warriors) and climb up to the highest portion of the ship(north end on the mini-map). Slash in the northeastern(on the mini-map) corner to find the *95th* Essence of Amahagane and then jump onto the ship to the west(on the mini-map). Kill the archer, then drop down and kill two more archers. Jump down to the lowest portion of the ship and eliminate the other enemies on this ship(including a Masho General). Jump onto the small boat to the east(on the mini-map) and drop down at the north(on the mini-map) end to find a chest containing a Celestial Light. Climb back up and jump onto the plank-walkway alongside another large ship, then Wall-Run to the next plank-walkway through the volley of arrows. Repeat this twice more to reach another ship to the west(on the mini-map); jump onto it and kill the archers, then drop down and kill the other enemies on this ship(including another archer on a separate raised section, next to a pot containing a Kurama Herb). With the enemies defeated, get onto the ship to the west(on the mini-map) and climb up at the southern(on the mini-map) end to the highest section and slash around the center of this section for the *96th* Essence of Amahagane. Drop back down and kill all of the enemies here, then use Benkei to knock down the mast of this ship to create a bridge to the next one. Cross the mast to the next ship and climb up at the southern(on the mini-map) end of it; kill an archer, then climb to highest section to kill two more archers(the *97th* Essence of Amahagane is around the middle of this highest section also, so get it). Now, Drop back down and kill the remaining enemies on this ship(including a Masho Commander). After dealing with the enemies, use Benkei to knock down the mast of this ship as well to create another bridge. Cross this mast to a small boat to the west(on the mini-map) and head northwest, then jump to the next bigger ship. Before doing anything else on this ship, approach the Tamayori Sigil to heal and SAVE! Now, Climb up at the southwest(on the mini-map) end and kill two archers up here, then drop back down and climb the other raised section of this ship to kill a third archer. Drop back down again and eliminate the Armadillo warrior here. After the enemies are dealt with, head to the northern-most corner(on the mini-map) of this ship and break a pot for a Kurama Herb, then save your game again at the Tamayori Sigil. Now, Climb up onto the raised section of the ship(near the Tamayori Sigil) and jump onto the the plank-walkway alongside the nearby large ship. This part is a bit trickier than the previous sections like it. Exploding arrows will lodge into the side of the large ship and explode a second later; wait until just after the explosion to Wall-Run to the next plank-walkway and repeat process twice to reach another ship to the southeast(on the mini-map). Jump onto the ship to the southeast and drop down to kill two archers, then climb up to a third archer on a raised section to the southwest(on the mini-map) of this ship. Now, Jump onto the smaller boat to the southeast(on the mini-map) and jump onto the plank-walkway to your left(southeast on the mini-map). Wall-Run toward the screen(northeast on the mini-map) to reach another plank-walkway, then Wall-Run again to another one that holds a chest; open it to obtain a Roaring Crest. Now, Wall-Run back and you'll notice a constant stream of exploding arrows being fired and lodging in the side of the large ship; the trick? Jump back onto the small boat and then back onto the half-sunken ship to the northwest(on the mini-map) of it; this cancels the arrow-barrage. Now, Quickly jump back onto the small boat and then hastily get onto the plank-walkway and Wall-Run to the next one! It's the only way I've been able to get past the exploding arrows here as, if you're quick enough, the stream of arrows doesn't get the chance to trigger. Once on the plank-walkway furthest to the southwest(on the mini-map), jump onto the small boat to your right(west on the mini-map). Run across it and get onto the bigger ship to the west of it. Once here, Ignore the enemies for the second and quickly climb the elevated section to the south(on the mini-map) end of the ship; kill the archers, then climb to the highest portion and kill more archers. The *98th* Essence of Amahagane is up here too, so slash around the southern-most(on the mini-map) middle of this highest section to find it. Drop down and eliminate the rest of the enemies on this ship(including a Masho Commander and possibly one of the Flying Masho warriors hovering around). Jump over to the next ship to the west(on the mini-map) and kill the enemies here(including a Commander and the Flying Masho warriors). Climb up at the north(on the mini-map) end of this ship to find a Masho General on the highest portion; ignore him initially and slash near where he's standing up here(about the northern-most middle section on the highest portion of the ship) to get the *99th* Essence of Amahagane, then use Benkei to kill the General with charged attacks. Jump back down and get onto the next ship west(on the mini-map). On this ship, Kill the enemies here with a Kamui(preferrably) as they include a General, an Armadillo, and Shield warriors. After the enemies are dead, climb up at the northern end(on the mini-map) to find an Ultra-Jump Sigil on the highest section of the ship. Use it to get onto a small boat to the north with another Ultra-Jump Sigil; use it to get to the next one and then use it to get to a third small boat. Use the Ultra-Jump Sigil here to get onto another bigger ship to the north that's swarming with annoying archers, so quickly kill them all(you'll have to climb up on the eastern end to get to some of them); there's also a Masho Spear Commander here to be killed. There's a pot in the northeastern(on the mini-map) corner on the highest section of this ship that contains a Miracle Pill. Now, Get onto the plank-walkway alongside the large ship to the north(on the mini-map) and Wall-Run to the next plank-walkway, then Wall-Run to another plank-walkway and climb up at the east end twice. Up here, Wall-Run back to the west to get onto the final large ship. Once on the large ship, start killing enemies as you work your way westward(on the mini-map), then work your way back eastward(staying along the southern end of the large ship). At the eastern end of the large ship, climb the stairs and eliminate all of the enemies up here(Flying Masho warriors). After they're dead, head to the western-most end(on the mini-map) of this raised portion and break a pot for a Tathagata Pill. Now, Head back to the stairs and, before descending them, slash the large Taiko Drum on the south(on the mini-map) side of them to get the *100th* Essence of Amahagane. Head back down the stairs now and go to the northwestern(on the mini-map) end of the large ship to end this LONG area! !Sink the Heishi Dreadnought! Infiltrate the giant battleship and destroy it from within. Items: Ghost Water x2, Miracle Pill x4, Celestial Radiance x1, Healing Breath x1, Celestial Light x1, Tathagata Pill x1, Vajra Crest x2, Roaring Crest x1 Essences of Amahagane: 16 Head up the stairs infront of you and kill the enemies at the top. Before entering the Dreadnought, approach the southwestern(on the mini-map) corner up here and slash to uncover the *101st* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Approach the northwestern(on the mini-map) corner and break a box for a Ghost Water. Enter the Dreadnought(Giant Battleship: Portside Passage). Head forward a few steps to get a scene that shows you a group of enemies(including a Masho General). Now you'll have to fight those enemies, so get to killing them. After you've killed them, the barriers blocking the doors will dissipate. Now, Take the southern(on the mini-map) door and kill an archer to the south(on the mini-map). To the east, you'll notice a "bridge" between you and a Tamayori Sigil. Head across the bridge, but be aware that sections of it will start collapsing as you cross, and save at the Tamayori Sigil on the other side. After saving, Head back west and CAREFULLY walk onto the platform(the only one you "can" walk onto) and switch to Shizuka; position her facing toward the visible pillar to the northwest(on the mini-map) and press L2 to lock-on to it, then press circle to grapple across. Now, Carefully jump across the small gap to the south(on the mini-map) and position Shizuka to the west(on the mini-map) of the pillar here to see another one further west; lock-on to the pillar to the west and grapple to it. Now, If you look at the mini-map, you'll notice a small lone platform to the west, so CAREFULLY jump to it and you'll notice a strong glow emanating from your Amahagane; slash toward the center of this platform to obtain the *102nd* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Jump to solid ground on this side(west on the mini-map) and return to the northern room. Now, Take the north(on the mini-map) exit in this room to reach Giant Battleship: Bilge Passage. BEWARE that there's no map-function down here, so bare with my directions(they're based on the stairs back up being in the "northeast", so keep that in mind). Head "east" from the stairs leading back up and open a chest here for a Miracle Pill. Head "south" from the chest, hugging the wall, and break down a flimsy barricade(any character can break this). Keep hugging the wall as it turns "west" and start slashing before reaching the "southwest" corner to find the *103rd* Essence of Amahagane. That's everything down here, so head "north" to get back to the stairs up to the Portside Passage. Return to the Tamayori Sigil and save your game again. Btw, If you ever fall while crossing the hole near the Tamayori Sigil, you'll end up in the Giant Battleship: Bilge Passage(treated as the enemies' 'ready-room') and you'll have to fight enemies to disperse a barrier in order to get back up to the Portside Passage. Now, Head south(on the mini-map) from the Tamayori Sigil and you'll get a little scene that shows a red butterfly on a wall, above a circular depression. After the scene, You can see that there's a path behind the Red Butterfly-wall if you look at your mini-map, but the wall is blocking it. Continue south to find a group of enemies down a set of stairs and a barrier will erect when you near them. Kill all of the enemies to cause some contraption to lower from the ceiling; examine it to obtain a Key Item: Red Gatepearl(the contraption will then return to the ceiling). More enemies will approach from the north(on the mini-map) and you should kill them off as you head back north. Return to the Red Butterfly-wall and examine it to place the Red Gatepearl into the depression, which causes the wall to raise and open up the path behind it(the Gatepearl contraption will also re-lower). Kill the enemies that were behind the wall and return to the Gatepearl contraption to retrieve a second Red Gatepearl. Archers will appear as you make your way back north again, so kill them and take the path behind where the Red Butterfly-wall was; go through the door it leads to in order to reach the Heart of the Giant Battleship. Upon entering the room, you'll see a scene of the giant Mashogane stone that powers the Dreadnought. When you have control, Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner to find a chest that contains a Celestial Radiance. Now, Head to the southwest(on the mini-map) and jump down a hole to reach the lower part of the area(if you stand on the spot where you jumped down, it will act as an elevator to carry you back up). Anyway, Get off the lift on the lower level of the area and go south(on the mini-map) just a bit to find another lift that will carry you up to a different part of the higher section. Get off the lift at the top and head down past the door and into a corner in the south(on the mini-map); break some objects here to find the *104th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Head back north just a little to reach the door you just ignored and go through it to reach Giant Battleship: Portside Passage. This is a different section of the Portside Passage. Anyway, Head along the path and you'll find yourself in a hallway; just to your character's right(north on the mini-map) is another Red Butterfly-wall, so place the Red Gatepearl in the depression to raise it and open the path behind it. Kill the enemies that are revealed after the wall is gone and continue north to find yourself back at the Red Gatepearl contraption(once again lowered), so grab another Red Gatepearl(and return to the Tamayori Sigil if you need healing or to save). Now, Head south(on the mini-map) and just follow the hall all the way to the end(you'll have to fight a group of Masho warriors with a Purple Masho Armadillo warrior along the way) where you'll find a door. Enter the door to reach an annoying Gear Room(and I mean VERY annoying). Make your way across the gears and get to the west(on the mini-map) side of the room. If you fall, you'll end up in the Bilge Passage and you'll have to fight your way back here. For an easier time, I suggest you make your way along the gears that are along the south(on the mini-map) wall, but be CAREFUL as the third gear has spikes that jut out from the wall at the center of it(you can be on the east side of the gear and wait for the spikes to retract, then move to the west side of the gear and jump to the ledge with the door on the west side of the room). However, The *105th* Essence of Amahagane is on a ledge in the northeastern(on the mini-map) corner. To get to it from the southeast corner: jump onto the first gear to the west, then jump onto the larger gear to the north of it, then make your way across these gears to the west-most one and jump onto the vertical gear to the north. Now, Carefully time your jumps and jump across the two vertical gears to the east in order to reach the northeast ledge where the Essence is. Anyway, Head through the door on the southwest(on the mini-map) ledge once you reach it to get to another hallway. Follow the hall and you'll reach another Red Butterfly-wall blocking the path, so use the third Red Gatepearl to open the wall. Continue along the hall, past where the Red Butterfly-wall was, until you see a quick scene of some walls opening and Masho spearmen rushing out. When you have control, kill all of the annoying spearmen and then continue following the hall until it dead-ends at a door. Go through the door to reach a room with a large Mashogane crystal and a group of enemies(archers, Shield warriors, and a General). Kill all of the enemies(starting with the annoying archers, preferrably) and you'll receive Key Item: Barrier Diffuse Panel I. A chest will also appear in the center of the room containing Benkei's final weapon: Indomitable. Now, Climb either ramp to get near the Mashogane crystal and break the lattice wall on the east(on the mini-map) side of it, then open the chest that was behind it for a Miracle Pill. Break the lattice wall on the west(on the mini-map) side of it and slash to uncover the *106th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Leave the room via the same door you entered through and head back through the hall(you'll encounter more enemies where you previously fought the spearmen; this group consists of a General and Shield warriors). Wipe them all out and continue back to the Gear Room, then make your way back across the gears and go back through the door in the southeast corner. Back in this hall, return to the Red Gatepearl contraption and retrieve the final Red Gatepearl, then fight your way back to the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save your game. Head south(on the mini-map) from the Tamayori Sigil, then go east(on the mini-map) to get back to the first door that leads to the Heart of the Giant Battleship. Once back in this room, drop down to the bottom level and approach the depression on the northwest(on the mini-map) side of the center platform; examine it to have the Barrier Diffuse Panel I disperse one of the barriers on the east(on the mini-map) side of this big room. Head over there and take the now-available lift up to another section of the upper-floor. Once on the upper-level, head south past the door and open a chest in the corner for a Healing Breath. Now, Go back north(on the mini-map) a bit and exit using the door to the southeast(on the mini-map) to reach Giant Battleship: Starboard Passage. Head along the path to reach a hall with a Red Butterfly-wall to your character's left(north on the mini-map); approach the Red Butterfly-wall and use the last Red Gatepearl to remove it. Now, Head north past where the wall was and fight three Masho Armadillo warriors(the purple one is a bit stronger than the other two); kill them with Kamui if you want to speed things up. Anyway, A new Gatepearl contraption will lower in the center of this section, so examine it to receive a Key Item: Blue Gatepearl. After getting it, start heading back south(on the mini-map) and you'll have to fight through enemies as you go. Continue south until you have to head east(on the mini-map); cross the collapsing bridge(if you fall, you'll end up in the Starboard Bilge Passage aka the enemies' 'ready-room') along the southern(on the mini-map) path and slash the pillar in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner to get the *107th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Continue to the solid ground on this side and kill the two archers over here. Now, Head south through the door into another room(just like on the Portside); head south in this room and descend the stairs to the Giant Battleship: Bilge Passage(Starboard). Just like the Portside Bilge Passage, the map and mini-map are unavailable down here; therefore, I will use the same directions as with the Portside(i.e - the stairs are in the "northwest" corner). First, Head "east" from the stairs and then follow the wall "south" to a chest containing a Miracle Pill. Break the lattice-wall behind the chest and you'll reach the "southeast" corner; head "west" along the "southern" wall and turn "north". Break this lattice-wall and slash in this area along the "west" wall to find the *108th* Essence of Amahagane. That's all there is down here, so take the stairs in the "northwest" corner back up to the Giant Battleship: Starboard Passage. Head back through this room to the north(on the mini-map) and go back into the hall. Head north and then west back across the collapsing bridge area to the other side. Fight the enemies as you head back north and then west, back to the Heart of the Giant Battleship room. Back in this room, Jump down to the lower-level and head to the south(on the mini-map) end of the room to find a Blue Butterfly-wall; examine it to place the Blue Gatepearl and cause the wall to raise up. Eliminate the enemies(including a General) that were waiting for you behind the wall. Before proceeding, Take the southeast(on the mini-map) lift back up and return to the Giant Battleship: Starboard Passage. Return to the Blue Gatepearl contraption(which has lowered again) and examine it to retrieve the second Blue Gatepearl, then head back to the Heart of the Giant Battleship(you'll face a Shield warrior and two archers on the way back). In this room once again, drop down to the lower-level and head back south(on the mini-map); this time, head through the door at the south end and use the Tamayori Sigil infront of you to heal and save. Now, Open your full-map via the status screen menu; you'll notice that you're in an octagonal hall with a bunch of small rooms all the way around. First, Head east(on the mini-map), past the first small room(it's empty), and enter the second small room to open a chest fot a Celestial Light. Return to the hall and enter the next small room along the hall; slash around in this small room to find the *109th* Essence of Amahagane(it's found easiest by standing in the center of the room and slashing toward the screen). Return to the hall and head back to the Tamayori Sigil(the other two rooms on this side are empty). Save and then head west(on the mini-map) from the Tamayori Sigil; ignore the first room(it's empty) and enter the second one to find a chest with a Tathagata Pill inside. Return to the hall and ignore the next small room(it's also empty), then enter the fourth room(the one along the wall opposite the others on this side) to find a chest and open it for Vajra Crest. Return to the hall and enter the last room along the this side of the hall to find a chest containing a Miracle Pill. Head back and save at the Tamayori Sigil, if you wish, then continue to the south(on the mini-map) end of this hall. Enter the north(on the mini-map) door down here to reach the room in the center of the octagonal hall. In this room, you'll face three Masho Armadillo warriors and two regular Masho warriors; kill them all to receive Key Item: Barrier Diffuse Panel II. A chest will also appear in the center of the room that contains Shizuka's final weapon: Lion Kagura. Now, Climb up next to the Mashogane crystal(or take one of the ramps up) and cut down the lattice-wall to the west of it; slash in this small alcove to receive the *110th* Essence of Amahgane(there's nothing in the small alcove on the east side of the crystal). Exit the room back into the octagonal hall and run back to the Tamayori Sigil to save(and heal). Head back through the door north(on the mini-map) from the Sigil and approach the depression on the southwest(on the mini-map) side of the center platform; examine it and the Barrier Diffuse Panel II will cause another barrier to disperse, making the northeast(on the mini-map) lift available for use. Head over and take the newly available lift up to yet another section of the upper-level of this large room. Up here, Head north past the door and open a chest in the northern-most(on the mini-map) corner for a Roaring Crest. Head back south a bit and take the door you just ignored(to the northeast on the mini-map) to reach Giant Battleship: Starboard Passage. Head forward to reach a hallway with a Blue Butterfly-wall to your character's right(south on the mini-map); place your Blue Gatepearl in the depression to cause the wall to raise out of the way. Head south(on the mini-map) to reach the Blue Gatepearl contraption and examine it to retrieve the final Blue Gatepearl. The contraption will raise into the ceiling and you can start heading north(on the mini-map; fight the two Masho Armadillo warriors that appear and continue north(on the mini-map) along the hallway. The hall will turn east(on the mini-map) and dead-end at a door into another annoying Gear Room(this one is trickier than the previous one). The only gear you can jump onto is the one straight ahead(along the western wall on the mini-map), so jump onto it(be careful, though, as it's a horizontal gear and there are spikes that come out at intervals(like the one gear in the previous Gear Room). Avoid the spikes and get to the other side of this gear and jump onto a vertical gear to the southeast(on the mini-map) from it. From this gear, carefully jump to the next vertical gear along the southern(on the mini-map) wall; now, jump to the next vertical gear and then Wall-Run to the ledge in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner; slash around the center of this ledge to find the *111th* Essence of Amahagane. From here, You'll have VERY CAREFULLY time a Wall-Run back onto the vertical gear to avoid falling into the Bilge Passage(enemies' 'ready-room'). Chances are, you're probably going to fall in the Bilge Passage anyway; I know I always do. Anyway, When you do manage to get back on the vertical gear just west of the ledge you obtained the Essence on, jump onto the horizontal gear to the north(on the mini-map) of it. Next, Jump onto the other horizontal gear that's located here around the middle of the room; from here, jump onto the horizontal gear along the north(on the mini-map) wall, then jump from it to the horizontal gear to the east of it(along the northern wall on the mini-map). This is another gear with spikes; carefully maneuver past them and jump to the ledge in the northeast corner of the room, then go through the door and use the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save. Head along the hall until you reach the last Blue Butterfly-wall; use the last Blue Gatepearl to open this one and continue through the hallway. Shortly after the Blue Butterfly-wall, you'll get a scene of a BUNCH of Masho warriors(including spearmen and Shield warriors) rushing out of openings in the wall. When you have control, you're going to need to kill them all and I suggest switching in someone you don't use that often(but has a full Kamui bar), then using their Kamui to wipe out most of these enemies. Clean up any stragglers and continue through the hall until it dead-ends at a door. Enter the room through the door for a scene where a Giant Masho Crab drops down and crashes through the floor, taking you with into the Giant Battleship: Cargo Hold. Time for a Boss Fight! *****BOSS #11***** Giant Masho Crab(Gray) This guy is essentially just a powered-up version of the one you fought WAY back in Chapter 2. Be careful of his attacks, as they pack a whallop! The best strategy for these Giant Masho Crabs is to use Benkei(with his first weapon; mine was at level 5/Max at this point) and dodge one of the Giant Crab's attacks, then fully charge his R1+Triangle attack and hit the Crab with it to knock it over on its back; then, switch to Yoshitsune and climb up on its underside and hold R1(or R2) and press Square to perform his Heavenly Vengeance attack to greatly damage its Mashogane crystal(core). Repeat this process over until you kill the Crab, or get it low enough to kill it off with a Kamui(if you want that "coolness" factor). Either way, The Giant Masho Crab(Gray) isn't that difficult of a Boss and you should be able to win before too long(as long as you avoid his heavy-hitting attacks). ***END BOSS FIGHT*** After the battle, You'll receive Key Item: Barrier Diffuse Panel III. Now, Head to the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of this large room and climb up twice to find a chest containing a Vajra Crest. From the chest, head south(on the mini-map) a bit and climb up a third time; switch to Shizuka and turn to the west(on the mini-map). Hold R2 to lock-on to the "pillar" holding up the lantern-"chandelier"-type thing and press Circle to grapple out onto the lantern-"chandelier"-type thing; move to the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of this lantern-"chandelier"-type thing and slash the chain to reveal the *112th* Essence of Amahagane. Drop down and head to the southeast(on the mini-map) corner of the large room. Here, Climb up twice and head north(on the mini-map) just a bit so you can climb up a third time; from here, use Shizuka to grapple out onto the other lantern-"chandelier"-type thing and slash the northwest(on the mini-map) chain to reveal the *113th* Essence of Amahagane. After collecting it, drop back down and climb back up at either the northeast or southeast corner of the room to either ledge you used to grapple onto one of the lantern-"chandelier"-type things; this time, though, climb up a fourth time to the east(on the mini-map) to reach the highest point of the large room. Up here, head south and then west(on the mini-map) until you see a door along the south wall. Go through it to reach Giant Battleship: Bilge Passage. Use the Tamayori Sigil you see right next to you to heal and save! Now, Head west(on the mini-map) from the Tamayori Sigil to find yourself in a hall where you can go north or south; head south and you'll see a barrier on the other side of raised section of the floor. Stand on the raised section(which is actually a lift) and press examine it to be carried up to the Heart of the Giant Battleship(in a room south of the octagonal hallway). Head north(on the mini-map) and enter the octagonal hallway; make your way through the hallway to the Tamayori Sigil at the north end and save, then enter the main room of the Heart of the Giant Battleship(with the giant Mashogane crystal). In this room once again, locate the depression on the southeast(on the mini-map) side of the raised center platform and examine it to use Barrier Diffuse Panel III to lower another barrier(the one near the lift you just used in the Bilge Passage). Before heading back there, Take the northeast(on the mini-map) lift in this room and head through the door back to the Giant Battleship(Starboard Passage). Head east, north, and east to return to the Gear Room here; make your way through the Gear Room and save at the Tamayori Sigil after exiting. Follow this hall again and re-enter the room at the end(where the Giant Masho Crab boss smashed through the floor with you, earlier). Head up one of the ramps to reach the large Masho crystal and slice through the lattice wall to the west(on the mini-map) of it; slash in the center of this alcove for the *114th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Cut down the lattice wall on the east(on the mini-map) side of the Mashogane crystal and slash in the center of this alcove for the *115th* Essence of Amahagane. Now, Make your way ALL the way back to the Heart of the Giant Battleship(or, you can drop into the hole into the Cargo Hold). NOTE: If you choose to drop into the Cargo Hold, then head to the southeast(on the mini-map) corner and use the ledges to climb up; afterward, head south and then west along the highest ledge to reach the exit door along the south wall(on the mini-map). Use the Tamayori Sigil. Either way, Head back to the Bilge Passage and enter the door at the south(on the mini-map) end(behind where the barrier was, near the lift). Another annoying Gear Room(and this one is the MOST annoying of the three)! Drop onto the ledge-path along the west(on the mini-map) wall and proceed along it(two sections will fall away as you cross over them); jump onto the nearest horizontal gear to the south(on the mini-map) and you can either jump onto the horizontal gear along the east wall or the ledge along the west wall. I suggest you use the gears as the second and third sections of the ledge-path along the west wall will collapse(it's not that bad as long as you quickly jump to the next horizontal gear before you fall). Either way, Get onto the next horizontal gear to the south(on the mini-map) and jump up onto the slightly higher(smaller) gear. From here, Jump onto the next horizontal gear along the west(on the mini-map) wall and then onto the vertical gear slightly southeast(on the mini-map) from it; now, jump onto the next vertical gear to the east(on the mini-map) from this one and then onto the smaller vertical gear along the east wall. From the small vertical gear, jump to the ledge-path along the east wall just to the south(on the mini-map) of it. Head to the south end of this ledge(the center section will collapse) and jump to the horizontal gear to the west(on the mini-map); then, jump from this horizontal gear onto the ledge-path along the west wall and run to the south(on the mini-map), then jump to the stable ledge at the south end of the Gear Room(the section of the ledge-path nearest the safe ledge will collapse away). IMPORTANT NOTE: If you happen to fall while making your way through this Gear Room, you'll end up in the Cargo Hold and will have to fight a Giant Masho Crab(plus, Masho Mini-Crabs) in order to get out. Open the chest for a Ghost Water and head through the door along the south wall to enter another Mashogane crystal room. You'll have to fight a group of enemies(including TWO Club-Wielding Masho Generals, Shield warriors, and archers); once they're all dead, you'll receive Barrier Diffuse Panel IV and a chest will appear in the center of the room. Open the chest to obtain Buson's final weapon: Sword of Susano-O. Now, Climb up to where the Mashogane crystal is(or use one of the ramps) and slice down the lattice wall on the east(on the mini-map) side of it, then slash at the center of the small alcove to obtain the *116th* Essence of Amahagane. There's nothing behind the lattice wall on the west side of the crystal, so exit the room back to the Gear Room. Make your way back through this annoying room to the door at the north end to get back to the Bilge Passage. In the Bilge Passage, Take the lift back up to the Heart of the Giant Battleship and make your way through the octagonal hall; use the Tamayori Sigil at the north end to heal and save, then head through the door along the north wall to return to the main room of the Heart of the Giant Battleship. Locate the depression along the northeast(on the mini-map) side of the raised center platform and examine it to use the Barrier Diffuse Panel IV to lower the last barrier(at the north side of this room. Climb up onto the the raised center platform and make your way past where the barrier stood; go through the door into a hallway and proceed through the hall. When you reach the square-room section of the hall, you'll encounter a group of enemies that consist of THREE Masho Generals(one Club-Wielding) and Masho spearmen; I suggest using a Kamui to kill them off. Continue through the hall, up two sets of stairs, and use the Tamayori Sigil near the door to heal and save! Now, Go through the door to reach the Giant Battleship: Deck for a cutscene and a Boss Fight! *****BOSS #12***** Taira no Tomomori This guy is a REAL pain! Not only does he have some annoying attacks(including a ground-stomp and a charging dash attack), but he also comes with back-up in the form of normal Masho warriors. As usual, Learn to dodge his attacks(as they do a LOT of damage) and strike him when you see an opening. He also has some basic sword-swings that you'll need to evade or block. If you have the need, Use Kamui to kill off the Masho warriors and do some damage to Tomomori(be advised, though, that he 'will' summon in more Masho warriors after a bit). Also, Be cautious when you move in to combo him and back off after a few hits as he is likely to attempt a counterattack. After you take all of his health, a cutscene will play and you'll have to fight a stronger version of him(you're now in a different section of the Deck). He has a few new tricks, including some punch attacks, an attack where he slams his large anchor into the ground and one where he swings the anchor in a circle. He also still has his combo, stomp, and charging dash attacks, though they are a bit more damaging(and harder to avoid, it seems). If he activates a Masho Kamui, succeed at the button mini-game to deal some damage to him(though, he won't fall down so you can't follow-up with a Fallen Enemy-attack). The only plus-side to this fight is that he fights by himself(without the aid of his little underlings). Keep up with the strategy of dodging his attacks and striking when there's an opening, and you'll eventually beat him. After you take his health, a cutscene will play and this fight is over. ***END BOSS FIGHT*** There's a chest in the northeast(on the mini-map) corner ahead of you that contains the fourth and final Unsullied Amahagane. Use it and examine the door next to the chest to unbar it; go through the door into the Giant Battleship: Bilge Passage. !A Rampant Grudge! Escape the battleship, which Tomomori has sent out of control. Items: None!(unless you missed some previously) Essences of Amahagane: None!(unless you missed some before) Head south(on the mini-map) and enter an octagonal hall; make your way to the south end of this hall, killing some of the enemies that get in your way and exit through the door. Head south, then go east when you can to reach the Tamayori Sigil here(SAVE YOUR GAME!). If you enter the nearby door(which leads into the Cargo Hold), you'll have to fight a Giant Masho Crab(mini-Boss) along with a bunch of Masho Mini-Crabs before you can exit back out. Anyway, Kill off all the enemies in this hallway(including a newer version of the Claw warriors you fought in the Netherworld and a Masho Spear Commander). Return to the Tamayori Sigil to heal and save afterward, then take the lift up to the Heart of the Giant Battleship. Head north through the door and make your way through the swarms of enemies to the Tamayori Sigil at the north end of the octagonal hallway(save at the Sigil). You can collect lots of Mashogane pieces here by killing a LOT of enemies(kill the Commanders in the little rooms to lessen the numbers), but don't expect to kill them all as a couple of the rooms are infinite respawn points. After you've had your fill, heal and save at the Tamayori Sigil and enter the main room of the Heart of the Giant Battleship for a scene and another Boss Fight! *****BOSS #13***** Taira no Tomomori(Dreadnought Core) First things, first! You'll need to take out the three Mashogane statues that are floating around and attacking you; they have three means of attack: shooting fireballs, spinning around the giant Mashogane crystal to knock you off the center platform, and floating up into the air to slam down on you. Your best times to damage them are chasing them down while they're shooting their fireballs and dodging their slam-down attack, then attacking them while they sit there for a few seconds. After you defeat the three statues, The rings around the giant Mashogane crystal will lower and allow you to attack it itself(you can jump and attack with aerial combos before the defenses are completely lowered or raised back up). After a short while, The defensive rings will raise back up and the statues will reappear; you'll have to repeat the process until you take all of the giant crystal's health bar. A quick scene and you'll have to fight Tomomori himself again. The three statues are going to be floating around and attacking you with their fireballs(and possibly the slam-down attack). Anyway, Tomomori's primary(maybe only) means of attack is to float up and slam down on you(like the statues); dodge the slam-down and deliver some combos. After he loses about half of his health, he'll start using another attack where he stops at times and curls himself into a ball before throwing his arms outward to release energy beams that will knock you off the center platform if they hit you. He can also heal himself by
landing on top of the giant Mashogane crystal; jump and use aerial
combos on the crystal to stop him, but watch out for the electric
attacks he throws off while up there.
You can also destroy the Mashogane statues, but mainly just focus on
killing off Tomomori.
***END BOSS FIGHT***
Watch the scene after the fight is over and you'll be controlling
Benkei solo in a previously un-accessible octagonal room. Break the
objects at the north(on the mini-map) end of the room to reveal a
door; examine it to trigger a series of very important cutscenes.
!*End Chapter 5*!
Watch the narrated cutscene and the cutscene that follows it, then
save your game at the prompt!
!*Begin Chapter 6*!
!The Battle of Hiraizumi!
Help Hidehira's army exterminate the demon horde.
Items: Loving Crest x2, Tathagata Pill x2, Healing Breath x2, Ghost
Water x2, Miracle Pill x4, Exuberant Crest x1, Vajra Crest x1, Tengu
Herb x1, Alchemic Crest x1, Celestial Radiance x2, Roaring Crest x1
Essences of Amahagane: 8
Open the chest you see infront of you, slightly to your character's
left, for a Loving Crest. Walk across from it to the opposite side of
the starting point and break a couple of boxes for a Tathagata Pill
and a Healing Breath.
Note: After heading through the door ahead, there will be enemies
constantly attacking(this is another War-Battle), but I suggest you
stick with my directions and collect the items and Essences as I point
them out.
Head forward(east on the mini-map) and enter the door to get to the
fortress gates. Head to your character's right(south of the mini-map)
and break a couple of pots for the *117th* Essence of Amahagane. A
little further(in the southwestern corner on the mini-map), break a
box to get a Ghost Water. Follow the south(on the mini-map) wall to
the southeast corner and break some boxes for a Miracle Pill. Head
north along the east wall and ignore the stairs; instead, go beside
them and use Yoshitsune to Double-Jump up onto a ledge. Open the chest
here for a Loving Crest. The *118th* Essence of Amahagane is right
beside the chest so slash around to the left of the chest to find it.
Drop down and head directly west(on the mini-map) to find another
ledge you can Double-Jump up to; break the pot for an Exuberant Crest
and open the chest for a Vajra Crest. Drop down and take the west(on
the mini-map) stairs up to a guard-house.
A quick scene will play, showing you a group of enemies(including a
Masho General) that you'll have to kill, so wipe them out. After you
kill them, a quick scene will play showing you a rope; afterward,
break a box along the northern(on the mini-map) wall of this room to
get a Tengu Herb and examine the rope along the southern(on the
mini-map) wall to have Yoshitsune slice it in two and close the doors
to this guard-house. Now, Head out the only available doorway(to the
west on the mini-map) and slash in the corner infront of you(southwest
on the mini-map) to garner the *119th* Essence of Amahagane. Fight
your way along the top of this wall(to the north on the mini-map);
you'll get a scene of some of those blasted Living Weapons as you go.
NOTE: As you work your way along the top of this wall, make sure you
kill off all of the enemies signified by the larger yellow
markers(these mark new Masho Genji Commanders; they have either two
swords or a spear).
Near the northwest corner up here, you can break some pots for a Ghost
Water. Continue to the east(on the mini-map) and just past an Arbalest
is a gap in the wall(not one that you can fall through); slash at the
gap for the *120th* Essence of Amahagane. A little further east and
you'll see a chest with an Alchemic Crest inside; head a little
further east and kill a Masho Genji Commander(you should have
eliminated the ones you've come across thus far); this should cause
the game to point out the Arbalest that you had to bypass(if not, head
back west and kill any Masho Genji Commanders that you missed).
Anyway, Head back to the Arbalest(to the west on the mini-map) and
examine it to launch an arrow to kill one of the annoying Living
Weapons in the background. Continue east.
At the northeast(on the mini-map) corner, Kill off the Masho Genji
Commanders to trigger the game showing you the Arbalest on this side;
examine the Arbalest and fire its arrow to kill the other Living
Weapon. Head straight south(on the mini-map) from this Arbalest and
break a box to get a Celestial Radiance. Continue to the northeast(on
the mini-map) corner and follow the eastern wall southward; break the
box as you go to collect a Miracle Pill. Continue south and you'll
come to the eastern guard-house; enter it and break some boxes along
the northern(on the mini-map) wall of the room to obtain a Tathagata
Pill. Continue to the northwest(on the mini-map) corner of the room
and slash to find the *121st* Essence of Amahagane. When you near the
south(on the mini-map) end of the room, a group of enemies will
appear(including a Masho General); kill them all and examine the rope
to cut it down and lower the gates of this guard-house.
Now, Your next objective is to close the central gate(that was just
knocked open in the quick scene). So, Head out of this guard-house via
the same doorway you entered though and jump off the wall to the west
to land in the central courtyard area.
Down here, Break a box in the southeastern(on the mini-map) corner to
obtain a Miracle Pill. Head west(on the mini-map) just a bit and use
Yoshitsune to Double-Jump up to a ledge to the south; break the pots
for another Miracle Pill and drop down. Head west(on the mini-map)
further and climb up onto the western ledge to the south(on the
mini-map); break the pot here for a Celestial Radiance. Climb up
further(onto the "bridge"-path between the two guard-houses) and head
to the middle along the southern(on the mini-map) side of the
"bridge"; slash around this area for the *122nd* Essence of Amahagane.
Head back and jump back down in the same place you climbed up here(the
northwest side of the this "bridge" on the mini-map). Down here again,
head west(on the mini-map) just a bit and break open a box for a
Healing Breath. Head north(on the mini-map) from this box and run up
along the side(not on) the west ramp leading back up onto the wall; if
you open your full-map, you should be in the northwest(on the
mini-map) corner of the area with the ramp being to the west of your
position. Anyway, There's a chest here that contains a Roaring Crest.
Head east(on the mini-map) from here, along the northern wall until
you reach the northeastern(on the mini-map) corner of the courtyard
and slash in the corner(a rolled-up rope should be lying on the
ground) to find the *123rd* Essence of Amahagane.
Now, Head to the south, but stop before you reach the central gate and
approach the western(on the mini-map) barricade(one like you usually
destroy with Benkei); attack the center of the barricade to find the
*124th* Essence of Amahagane.
Now you can head through the central gate and start eliminating the
enemies there. You need to kill all of the enemies here(especially the
ones marked on the mini-map by the larger yellow markers). You'll know
when you've defeated them all, as you'll get a scene of the central
gate closing. After you regain control, head back to the central gate
and climb up either side(using the ledges) with Yoshitsune's
Double-Jump; eliminate the annoying archers that have appeared up here
and drop down on the northern side of the central gate(in the central
courtyard area) to get another quick scene of archers lining the top
of the walls. Your objective now is to finish clearing up all of the
enemies in the fortress; let's start with those archers! Head to the
western ramp that leads up onto the walls and head up it; eliminate
all of the archers up here(they're all marked on the mini-map with
larger yellow arrows) and you'll get a scene of a Giant Masho Crab
entering the fortress when they're all dead.
Jump down to the central courtyard area and deal with this Giant
Crab(while killing and evading the regular Masho warriors). Once you
kill it, you'll get a scene of TWO more Giant Masho Crabs appearing in
the fortress(one in the central courtyard and one in the southern
courtyard). Let's deal with the one in the central courtyard first,
since that's where we currently are; be careful as you fight him
because there are also a bunch of Masho warriors. After you kill the
Crab, kill all of the enemies here that are marked with larger yellow
markers on the mini-map. Now, Make your way south and climb up over
the central gate to get to the southern courtyard; kill the Giant
Masho Crab here and you'll get a cutscene that ends the War-Battle.
After the cutscene, it's time for another Boss Fight!
*****BOSS #14*****
Giant Masho Abomination
This guy's actually kind of easy if you know what to do. First off,
There are Masho Genji Commanders(warriors) that will be helping the
Boss, but most of the Boss' attacks will wipe them out for you. What
you have to do is get close to the Boss and attack either of its front
legs(left or right, your choice); when you've dealt sufficient damage,
the Boss will fall to the ground. This is your chance to do some
ACTUAL damage to the Boss itself, by attacking his head.
Note: There are three Arbalests here that, when fired into the Boss,
will instantly knock him to the ground and allow you to attack his
head. However, They can each only be used ONCE!
Now, His attacks consist of: a wide-ranged flame breath attack that
sweeps the ground infront of him, an attack where he swats at you with
one of his claws, and an attack where he raises up and slams his claws
down onto the ground. The claw-swipe is generally only used when
you're close to him. The claw-swipe and claw-stomp are fairly easy to
dodge, while the flame breath is better blocked.
First, Run to the right(east on the mini-map) Arbalest and launch its
arrow into the Boss to topple him; now, quickly run up to him and
start attacking the mark on his head(preferrably with Buson, as his
attack-power is likely the highest at this point). Keep attacking
him(fighting off some Masho Genji warriors while you do) until he
raises back up onto his feet. Now, Run to the left(west on the
mini-map) Arbalest and launch its arrow into the Boss to topple him
again. Run up and repeat the process of attacking that mark on his
head until he raises back up. Repeat the process using the
last(central) Arbalest and attack him until he raises up again. Now,
You'll need to attack his front legs(right or left) with your
character in order to bring him back down again. When he falls, the
process is the same(attack that skull-face-looking mark on the Boss'
head). Continue to repeat these steps until you kill him.
***END BOSS FIGHT***
After the Boss dies, you'll find yourself in a new area: Road to
Takadachi!
!To Takadachi!
Hurry to Takadachi, site of the Overworld Gate, to put a stop to
Kuyo's ambitions.
Items: Kurama Herb x1, Roaring Crest x1, Tathagata Pill x1, Loving
Crest x1
Essences of Amahagane: 10(19 if you gather the ones that can be found
*during* the Boss Fight)
Immediately approach the Tamayori Sigil to your character's left(west
side of the path on the mini-map) and SAVE YOUR GAME!! Unless, of
course, you'd like to do the entire Hiraizumi battle over again if
something happens. There's also the *125th* Essence of Amahagane to
your character's right(east side of the path on the mini-map); it's
right near the rock in the southeast(on the mini-map) corner here.
Now, Head up just north of the Tamayori Sigil and slash the second
tree along the west side of the path to get the *126th* Essence of
Amahagane. Save again and start making your way up the path to the
north. You'll soon run into a group of enemies, so kill them all and
then continue up the path into a cave.
Head forward and you'll reach the central area of the first floor of
the cave; open your full-map and look at the cave. The path along the
west wall is a ramp that leads up to the higher floors of the cave, to
the east of it is a short path into a room with infinitely respawning
enemies, and along the east wall is a path that splits into two. Okay,
Out of the menu. First, Head northeast(on the mini-map) and break a
box for a Kurama Herb(it's slightly west of the path along the eastern
wall). Now, Head into the path along the eastern wall and kill a Masho
Genji warrior, then take the left-hand path at the split and destroy a
Masho Wasp Nest(kill any Masho Wasps that come out while you're at
it). Along the east wall in this clearing(where the Masho Wasp Nest
was) is the *127th* Essence of Amahagane, so slash a stalagmite to get
it and continue along this path to the "room" at the end. Break a box
along the north(on the mini-map) wall of this "room" to get a Roaring
Crest and kill the two archers.
Head back now and take the right-hand path at the split to reach
another "room" with a Masho General inside; kill him and then approach
the middle of the eastern(on the mini-map) wall of this "room";
perform some jump-slashes around here to find the *128th* Essence of
Amahagane. Return to the central chamber and take the northwest(on the
mini-map) path to another "room"(with infinitely respawning enemies);
break a couple of boxes in this "room" to get a Tathagata Pill and a
Loving Crest. Approach the center of the "room" and perform some
jump-slashes(you're likely to get hit during this) to find the *129th*
Essence of Amahagane. Return to the central chamber and proceed up the
ramp along the west(on the mini-map) wall.
When the picture on the mini-map changes, open your full-map and take
note of the path to a "room". Take that path when you reach it(it's
along the north on the mini-map) and about half-way along the path,
slash the east(on the mini-map) wall to acquire the *130th* Essence of
Amahagane. Continue on into the "room" at the end of this path and
enemies will start spawning in. Ignore them for the moment and slash a
stalagmite around the northeast(on the mini-map) corner of the "room"
for the *131st* Essence of Amahagane; the *132nd* Essence of Amahagane
is also in this "room" around the approximate center(slash around in
the middle of the room to find it), but be cautious of the enemies as
they're pretty aggressive. Also, Break a box while you're in the
"room" for a Healing Breath(it's in the southeast corner on the
mini-map) and then exit the room, as the enemies in here are
infinitely respawning. Back on the path, continue following it higher
until the mini-map's picture changes again.
When the picture changes, approach the corner(which is a southern tip
on the mini-map) and slash for the *133rd* Essence of Amahagane.
Further along the path(northward on the mini-map), you should notice a
glow shortly; when you do, find where it's the strongest(along the
center of the path) and jump slash(with Shizuka seems to work best) to
retrieve the *134th* Essence of Amahagane. Continue up the path until
you exit the cave to the Valley of Ordeals.
Advance along this path until you get a cutscene, then it's time for
another Boss Fight!
*****BOSS #15*****
Minamoto no Yoritomo
The first thing you should know is that you fight this Boss with only
Yoshitsune!
Okay, His attacks consist of: standard combo-attacks, a charging dash
attack(or two), and he can fire off energy-blasts.
Like most bosses(the human-type ones), this battle is mainly a game of
dodge and strike. Learn his attacks so you can effectively dodge them,
then strike when he's open after he attacks. He can activate a Masho
Kamui, so be sure to succeed at the mini-game if he does and follow-up
with a Fallen Enemy-attack(R1 or R2+Square) while he's on the ground.
Your standard combo-hits will flinch him and allow you to deliver a
full combo(unless he starts guarding).
After you deal a certain amount of damage to him, a cutscene plays.
After the cutscene, the fight continues. Continue with the standard
strategy until you take the rest of his health and another cutscene
plays. Now, You're going to have to fight him again.
This time, however, he's quite a bit more powerful and your standard
attacks won't flinch him as easily. Otherwise, The fight is pretty
much the same as before(except, I think he might be a little quicker).
I suggest sticking with the standard strategy for this round too,
because it's reliable. Be advised that he can still use a Masho Kamui
in this fight too(it involves one additional button-press). If you
need to, use a Vajra Crest and a Roaring Crest(to halve the damage you
take and double the damage you deal, respectively) during this
fight(with the stronger version of Yoritomo). And, hey, Use Kamui if
you have the need, as you can always replenish it back in the cave.
Keep it up and he'll fall eventually.
***END BOSS FIGHT***
After the fight, Watch the cutscene and you'll receive Yoshitsune's
final weapon: Hidekiri and Usumidori.
!The Final Battle!
Defend the Overworld from Kuyo's wicked plot.
Items: Celestial Light x2
Essences of Amahagane: 9(0 if you already obtained the ones that could
be found *during* the Boss Fight)
Now, There are some items and Essences to collect in this area before
moving on. Head south(on the mini-map) first and approach the stone at
the southeast(on the mini-map) corner of what was the battlefield;
slash it to get TWO Essences of Amahagane(*135th* and *136th*). Just
a step south of the stone is a large wooden post, so stand next to it
and jump-slash in the air(with Shizuka) to obtain the *137th* Essence
of Amahagane. Now, Go direction west(on the mini-map) to find another
stone that you can slash to obtain TWO more Essences of
Amahagane(*138th* and *139th*). Now, Head north(on the mini-map) and
climb up to where the north exit is(the way to proceed), but don't
take it yet.
Instead, Approach the Stone to the west(on the mini-map) of the exit
and slash it to obtain TWO more Essences of Amahagane(*140th* and
*141st*). Head to the east(on the mini-map) side of the exit and slash
another stone for TWO more Essences of Amahagane(*142nd* and *143rd*).
Now, Go all the way to the very northeast(on the mini-map) corner of
this area to find a breakable box that contains a Celestial Light,
then head to the very northwest(on the mini-map) corner and drop down
to a lower ledge to find another breakable box that also contains a
Celestial Light. Now, Climb back up and run ALL the way back to the
beginning of the Road to Takadachi to use the Tamayori Sigil there to
heal and save!
Run up past the infinitely respawning enemies and re-enter the cave,
then make your way back up to the Valley of Ordeals.
Head up through the northern exit of the Valley of Ordeals for some
cutscenes and the FINAL BOSS!
*****BOSS #16*****
Kuyo(Yamata-no-Orochi)
This *THING* is really annoying, but not *that* hard! However, It WILL
be a very LONG fight, even with Kamui!
Okay, You can only really damage this thing by waiting on it to slam
one(or more) of its heads down against the ground. At this point, you
can attack the head(or one of the heads) to deal some minor damage, as
nothing you use is going to do very much.
Now, Her attacks consist of: four different breath attacks(one with
each head), an attack where she fires an energy-blast at you from the
giant Mashogane crystal jutting out of her underbelly, an attack where
she uses two of her heads to try to "grab" at you(this allows you to
attack her) and an attack where she slams her four tentacle heads down
against the ground(this is the one that you NEED her to do). Note that
she can also just slam a single head against the ground. There are
also times when one of her *necks* will be just low enough for you to
jump-slash a couple times.
As for the strategy, there's not much I haven't already said. Mostly,
It's just a matter of dodging her attacks and waiting for her to slam
her four tentacle-heads against the ground so you can attack her. You
can use a Kamui to deal some damage to all four of her heads(they
*die* individually), but it's mainly just a waiting game. Also, You
can use your Roaring Crests to double the amount of damage you deal
for a short time to slightly speed the battle up, but be sure that you
wait and use one ONLY when her heads are on the ground and attackable.
When she gets low on health, her fireball attack will start launching
multiple fireballs instead of just one.
After you've *kill*ed off all four heads, a cutscene will play and
you'll have to defeat her again after it. The second fight is much
easier if you utilize your Kamui quite a bit(use items and/or Essences
to recharge your Kamui). Elsewise, You have to dodge her attacks: a
laser-sweep and fireballs, and attack the crystals that are anchoring
her.
***END BOSS FIGHT***
When the battle FINALLY ends, watch the Ending cutscenes and save your
System Data after the Credits to unlock the Extras menu(a Movie Viewer
and a Music Player).
!!CONGRATULATIONS!!

[D.3] F.A.Q. Section
======================
Q: Can I use your guide on my website?
A: No. Currently, GameFAQs is the only site authorized
to host my guides.
Q: Does your guide cover EVERY single Essence of Amahagane that can
be found in the game?
A: Not necessarily. It lists every Essence that I have managed to
find with repeated playthroughs of the game, but that doesn't
mean that I've managed to find them ALL.
Q: What's up with everyone dissing this game? Is it really that bad?
A: I've got no idea. And no, it isn't. Personally, I think it's a
terrific game!
Q: Do you think they'll ever make another Genji?
A: No, I doubt it. Since there's no way I can see for them to continue
it(as the storyline "ends" in Days of the Blade).
